Being a working adult is dreadful but the work you do is the most fulfilling kind of anarchy. You are a therapist, you work to heal and you work together with people who willingly reach out to you and your facility of care. There is that balance, the altering nuances in between that allows you to do what you do best. You advocate for good prosperity of mental health and accolade of teachable moments that fosters a safe space for your clients, not patients, but the people who deserve to be heard and not be medically categorized.

Your salubrious passion keeps you grounded. In your lifetime, you've seen the imperial impacts of poor mental health and it has been a detrimental drive in how you retreat and give back to a small found community.

"Okay." You exhale to yourself while leafing through another client chart. You're working off the clock, stuck in the renaissance of your homey office space while the outside world turns pitch black.

In the appropriate fields you jot down important takeaways from your last sit in session with heavy concertation and reasoning, you try to congregate a treatment plan all before you cellphone cries for you in venturous fashion.

"Hello?" You answer without checking the caller ID, tucking the device between your ear and shoulder so that way you could work and talk.

"Jenny!" The man boisterously shouts. "Jenny baby please talk to me! Let me make it up to you, let's just do this right, please. I'm fucked up here."

"I'm sorry but you have the wrong number." You infringe sounding like the posh, automated answering machine lady.

"Oh what the fuck Jenny — oh cah'mon don't do that, don't be like that baby." You re-verify a local number and it doesn't belong to anyone you know of. So you wonder who this man is but choose not to press further instead you tell him what is right from the knowing wrong.

"I'm not Jenny."

"Seriously?" He yells, forcing you to hold the phone away from your ear. "That can't be... This is—" He recites the number that is similar to yours but the last two digits are off.

"You got 42, not 53." It's an easy mistake to recall, a swipe of a drunken thumb could've mixed that up, so this time around, you're forgiving. Not that it happens often.

"Oh no. That's—" The mystery man trails, something about his voice discerns you, it's familiar but in a hindbrain way that you can't put a finger on. "Fuuuuuuuck."

"Wait hold on, hold up, is this Jenny's assistant, Nina?" You exhale sharply sometimes it takes more than one try and a side of convincing to get your point across and your passiveness was certainly to blame.

"No I'm not her assistant either."

"Then who the hell are you?" He exasperates. You make the snide mistake of telling him your name and he buffers for a bit.

"Oh. So you really aren't anyone of my concern then?"

"No." You mildly retort. "I wouldn't want to be anyways."

"Okay well I'm not sorry then because I'm here trying to reach my girlfriend and I can't get to her because I have you on the line being a smartass." With that accent of his you can tell he's a patriotic Bostonian. One of your own kind and that furloughs your need to engage in this mindless drivel, it wouldn't get you or him anywhere. At least that's what you tell yourself before shutting him down.

"Well then maybe you should learn to listen first, how about that?" You snap, dropping your pen before you note down angry nonsense into your actual work.

"Hey nowwww!" He yells as if he's trying to be Hank Kinsley.

"It's clear that you're drunk."

He brushes you off on the other end, enigmatic in what he wants you to know. "This is Chris Evans, you're talking to Chris-motherfucking-Evans, you hear?"

"I do now." You say tersely.

"Good." He huffs. "Good... Cause you know I'm in the middle of bumfuck nowhere and this is what I get. This is what I seemingly deserve, god you women I swear..."

Your face changes. You don't agree to be a lending ear but somehow Chris forces you to hear him out.

"I told her Y/N. I TOLD her that I wasn't ready to take the next step but that doesn't mean that I don't want to be with her. And now she throws it back in my face by getting with some other guy she once dated back in high school. And somehow, I'm supposed to be ok with it and move on, as she tells me. How the hell am I supposed to do that, huh?"

"I, um, I don't know what to tell you." You sigh somberly.

"Of course you don't!" His Boston twang begins to nerve you as there some remitting frequency of it. Hearing him obnoxiously go off, reminds you of all your shrewd New England exes who were his exact counterpart when soused. A ludicrous memory that you relive again with time and perfect harmony.

"Listen lady all I'm saying is that I fucked up. I know I did alright? I mean it doesn't take much denominational math and the plot of Lost in Translation to get that. I get it!"

Jesus. You whisper the lords name in vain as you lean your forehead against the palm of your hand while your elbow rested on top of the desk.

"So, let me get this straight, you think yelling at a random woman will help get further?" You question a little acutely for his liking.

"I don't know but it sure as hell takes off the heat, sweetheart." Something about a man calling you sweetheart grinds your gears and now your molars.

"Okay, alright, let's talk." You begin, sitting up a bit and tearing out a blank page from your memo pad; you were doing a late night consultation, a small hash out.

"Schuwaaaaa." Chris enunciates the word sure and to much of his mayhem, he’s sprawled out on the curbside, somewhere in the nowhere land of L.A. He contented but also upset and you were simply crashing his little pity party.

"What is it that you want from Jenny?" You professionally prod. "How about we start there."

"Wooooah, what is that we're doing here?” Chris gets mildly defensive with you. “I dunno you like that. If we're gonna talk then you'll have to get through my publicist first because right now I plead the fifth.”

You exhale a deep and fulsome breath. No one troubles you like him. It's sanctimoniously unnerving.

"I'm a shrink, my job isn’t meant to incriminate my clients well-being, or anyone else’s for that matter.” You address calmly. “So, if you do require some solicited advice then we can keep this call under strict confidence. You have my word, Mr. Evans and the paperwork that will follow shortly after this call.”

Silence. There is some shocking silence which is brief before you're catapulted with disbelief and more cackles. "Holy mother fucking shit. You're kidding me?"

"I can run you by my credentials if you’d like?” You mention stiffly.

"God I’ve reached a cuckoo hotline!" Wrong. That's a horrible thing to say and you'd think a man like him would've been more sensitive about his choice of words, inebriated or not.

"Far from it."

"Tell me something, alright? How many grown, adult men come crying to you?" Chris is edging with curiosity even though his eyes are betrayingly reddened after crying into a bottle of Dewars 18. He doesn't make that known to you and you never cared to ask.

"Enough to know that they cry." You simply state.

"Huh. So this is just another Tuesday for you then.” Chris scoff, the bottle making it to his lips and then swishing back down again.

"Comes with the territory except I don't tolerate drunkenness." You motely add. "Can you keep the bottle aside for the time being? Just until we're done here."

"That's understandable and oh yeah sure, sure, I won't touch it." You can hear the glass bottle 'clink' when coming into contact with the pavement.

"Now tell me about Jenny." You softly inquire.

"What do you wanna know? How we fuck or how we met?" Chris giggles like a naughty school yard boy.

"How did you two meet?" You slam the words urgently, nearly spelling out the cause.

"Oh! Oh. We met on the job." Chris chuckles punitively.

"Okay and did you guys connect instantly or was there a slow build up?" You involuntarily took notes for any PR rep of his that wanted solid evidence that would preside this call, cover your bases and your poor ass along with it.

"Instantly. Our chemistry read was off the charts." He explains with a slight hiccup. "Sorry."

"Great. So it was more so a work relationship that later grew into something more correct?"

"Pretty much."

"So when did you start developing feelings for her?"

"Um I'd say..." Chris tucks his chin, burps and then excuses himself before continuing. "Just before we wrapped up filming. But then I think somewhere in between all that I realized that she was my kind of girl, my... better half."

"And what made you come to that realization?"

"Well for one she has this infectious laugh that would have you laughing with her, there's that sound of beauty and pureness to it. And then with that, there were all the little things she'd do for me that made me think, like damn she's the one, she's it for me and that for better or for worse, I'd need her more than she'd ever need me."

Chris gets sad and you feel for him. Your pen stops moving when you were about to prescribe him some mind memory exercises. He was human. Humans hurt. Humans make mistakes. Humans stray but they also love. That's all Chris did. He loved with all of his heart to not expect the same love in return.

"You know Chris, we don't always get the love we deserve and sometimes its sucks. Sometimes you wanna kick it back with a bottle of Dewars 18 and shake your fists in the air." Chris quietly perks up at your choice of alcohol that you didn't know he was forcefully downing. He fashions a small half smile that you don't see but hear faintly. "But there's also a time and a place and things happen, people come apart, people get together, people do people and there's that fine line of letting life run its uneven course."

"I mean you sometimes have to not be okay to be okay again and I know that from my many years of helpful healing. It gets okay, never fully better and I think that's just how it is. You acknowledge your pain, your trauma and then you go on while being mindful of that transition."

"Wow."

"Hey, um, look, I actually have to get going. But if you can, just down the rest of that bottle and get yourself home."

"Are you sure?" Chris gawks.

"I mean you were already halfway through and it's not like I can physically stop you, right? And besides this is what I'm prescribing to you. I want you to acknowledge your pain, drink away your sorrows and then smash that bottle so you can be relieved from that trauma and hurt. After that you need to fix up and start new, have a mature conversation with her, if you can and then have your feet hitting the ground again. Don't fall into the routine of heartbreak even if it becomes too hard, you hear me?"

"Loud and clear."

"Good." You sniff and start to put things away. "I know you're a good guy Chris, from how you are on TV and in interviews, I'm amazed by how articulate you are. You have the right mindset so I have no doubts that you'll fall back in any way. But if you do, please don't hesitate to reach out, I might have to hand you off to another cohort but nonetheless it can be worked out even if it does feel like you might be sparring on your own. You'll get the help you need."

"Great, thanks." Chris responds in his conscious state of thought. He feels pathetic with himself and that doesn't have you galling over the fact, instead you let him be.

"Do you need me to order you an Uber? Cab? Call a friend for ya?" You laugh easily and Chris hears it clearly, smiling in return.

"An Uber would be nice. I'll try to share you my location."

"Sure, on me and that'd be great."

"Thanks."

"No problem... And your ride should be here in two minutes, just look out for Raul in black Elantra." You inform him after checking your phone.

"Nice."

"You have a goodnight now Chris."

"You too." The line cuts and you're given a piece of your life back. You gather your belongings, flip off the light switch and make your way home. There's some truth and some brokenness in every situation. You knew Chris was going to be OK even if he didn't consult you afterwards. For you, there was no need. He's a smart man and he proves this over a prolonged period of time when he finally finds himself back on the market and then eventually in a relationship with a faceless and very loving woman from his own hometown.

He was finally happy, making you serendipitously glad that you were the caller he had reached.

Chris evans x famous!reader where chris broke up with the reader for Jenny Slate (no hate to her tho) Then after a year him and the reader star in a movie where they need to be lovers. They catch up and he learns that the reader has a new beau. All his feelings for the reader come back and he tries to win her again

It was the first day of your newest movie and you couldn't be more excited.

From the second you had read the script, you knew you wanted to be apart of the cast in one way or another and luckily, you had gotten the lead role.

The only problem was, your leading man was your ex boyfriend Chris Evans.

You and Chris had dated for three years and broke up a year ago when he had met Jenny Slate.

He had broken your heart completely and the thought of seeing him again, was bringing all of the hurt back up to the surface.

"Hey, Y/N, how um have you been?"

Chris asks when you walk onto the set and you run into him.

"Hi Chris, I'm good, thanks. How are you?"

The awkwardness was almost unbearable as the two of you make small talk.

"Y/N, we need you in the hair and makeup test."

You throw a grateful glance to your assistant and say goodbye to Chris before walking off to get to work.

"You alright?"

She asks as soon as Chris was out of earshot.

"Not really. It's been over a year and I still love him. I know I shouldn't after what he did but I do."

It was a hard thing to admit but you knew you could never lie to her. She was not only your assistant but your childhood best friend and she could read you like an open book.

"You can't help who you love Y/N but sometimes you have to weigh the options of being with someone because you love them and not putting yourself in a position to get hurt again."

You knew she was right. Just because old feelings were coming up, didn't mean you needed to acknowledge them.

"I know. He made his choice a year ago and just because he and Jenny didn't work out, that doesn't mean anything to me. I just need to get this movie shoot over with so we can go our separate ways again."

Even as the words come out of your mouth, you knew they were easier said than done. Chris was playing your love interest and there were more than a few 'romantic' scenes between your characters.

"Y/N! Wait up!"

You hear Chris call out behind you and sigh.

"You good? I can tell him to leave."

Your assistant says and you shake your head.

"I can't avoid him everytime he tries to talk to me."

With that, she takes off, giving you and Chris some privacy.

"Can I help you with something?"

You ask him, your tone a bit more icey than you had intended.

"Look, can we have a real conversation? No pleasantries and all that?"

You had to admit, getting everything out in the open would probably help make the shoot easier on you.

"Fine. Let me just get some stuff done and I will come to your trailer when I finish."

You offer, wanting to give yourself some time to think before you actually sat down to have a conversation with him.

He agrees and you make plans to meet in a few hours before you head off to work.

The whole time you are going through wardrobe fittings and hair and makeup tests, you can't get your impending conversation with Chris off your mind. Going over everything from the past year and what your assistant had said over and over again.

Finally, you finished up your work and headed over to Chris' trailer.

"Come in."

He says after you knock on the the door.

Taking a deep breath, you walk in and see Chris sitting on the couch looking over the script.

"Sorry it took so long."

You say shyly and sit down on the opposite side of the small couch.

"No problem. I had some things to get done too."

He says and you give a small smile.

"Look, I get that things are probably going to be weird doing this movie after everything but I thought we could at least try and clear the air."

Chris finally breaks the silence a few minutes later.

"Yeah, that is probably a good idea."

You nod.

"We are both professionals and shouldn't let our personal issues interfere."

He says and you roll your eyes with a scoff.

"Our personal issues? Is that what we are calling it now? You left me for another woman Chris! We were together for three years and you threw it away for a relationship that didn't even last one!"

Anger boiled up inside you as you spoke. Everything you had always wanted to say to him finally coming out.

"What about you? You moved on pretty quick don't you think? I've heard about you and Karl."

You stare at him for a moments before laughing.

"Karl and I were doing a movie together. We are just friends. And you want to talk about moving on quickly? How long was it between you telling me we were over and you going to Jenny? The time it took for you to drive to her place I bet."

You were even more angry now. How dare he question how you lived your life after he blew it up?

"You and Karl aren't together?"

He asks, almost hopeful.

"No, we are not together. Some of us know how to just be friends with our costars."

It was a low blow but you didn't really care at this point.

"Y/N, I am so sorry. I made a huge mistake. I thought, when we broke up, that I didn't love you anymore. I thought I knew what I wanted back then but I was wrong. Do you think there is any chance that we could start over? Try again? I still love you."

It was everything you had ever wanted him to say and yet you couldn't get all of the pain of the last year or your friends words out of your head.

"No Chris! Just because you and Jenny didn't work out doesn't mean you get to just pretend that you didn't break my heart into a million pieces! I am not your consolation prize! You broke up with me for another woman. You have to deal with the consequences."

You stand up and head towards the door.

"I will prove it to you Y/N. I will find a way to show you how much I love you and I will find a way to get you back into my life. We belong together and I know that you know that."

Was the last thing he said before you stormed out of his trailer and back to yours, his promise to get you back, replaying in your head on repeat the whole way.

Hey everyone! My name is Angel, and my pronouns are She/Her!

I'm a 19-year-old college student from America, and I've loved to write for a long time. Before now, I actually had no idea that Tumblr could be a fanfiction platform until I was recommended one on TikTok! After looking around a bit, I realized I really enjoyed this platform and wanted to try writing on it for myself.

Before Tumblr, I have written on other platforms such as Wattpad and BookWriterFree. I'm most used to how Wattpad operates, so I apologize if it takes me a while to get used to the Tumblr platform. As of right now, any work on here will not be on Wattpad, but that may change in the future.

Most of my work here will likely revolve around Chris Evans and Marvel. I also prefer writing OC stories and not x-readers. However, I'm excited to start dabbling in one-shots and drabbles. I usually write series, and I plan to on here as well, but since I'm starting a new platform, I also want to start a new writing style too!

Fake Girlfriend to Best Friend (1/9)

Summary: it’s exactly what the title says.

Pairing: Chris Evans x Reader

Warning: long. So long.

A/N: send me timeline requests or any requests. Definitely is multiple parts. It was a long shot but I was loving the story line and had to make it longer.

Chris and you have been best friends ever since Scott brought you over claiming that you were his girlfriend.

You weren’t. You were just the freshman college student helping out your brother’s boyfriend since his family found out he was dating someone. They begged him to bring his “girlfriend” over.

Scott hadn’t come out of the closet to them yet. You were promised an all expenses paid road trip to any nearby state along with the two of them accompanying you.

So, you drove with Scott to Sudbury, MA, for spring break.

You easily woo’d the family.

Chris didn’t like you though. He was an ass to you until he heard you and Scott talking in Scott’s room.

“You gotta tell them!”

“You knocked her up?!” Chris said busting into the room.

“Excuse me?! I’m a virgin. I’ve only kissed two guys and one is your brother—.”

Scott covered your mouth and said, “I’m gay.”

After that, Scott told him why you were there and the whole plan. It made Chris be a little nicer to you when he realized you were just there helping his little brother out.

It doesn’t stop him from giving you a hard time.

You pretty much became family to them after Scott came out and even though your brother and him broke up.

You also ended up hanging out with the Evans whenever you got any breaks from school.

Even some weekends you went over.

Chris claimed that you’re obsessed with him if he was in Massachusetts at the same time as you.

You always rolled your eyes.

The Evans Brothers took you out on your 21st birthday to some bars in New York and even a couple clubs.

“You guys have beautiful eyes. I’d want my kids to have your eyes.”

The boys laughed and Scott said, “you’ll have a better chance with Chris, honey.”

“Scott!”

Chris had to carry you back to your dorm since you’re an awful drunk and a lightweight.

They tuck you in. They put a glass of water on your bedside table and the bottle of ibuprofen before they leave you to handle your hangover by yourself tomorrow.

You’re completely miserable the next morning and you vow to never drink again.

It gets broken especially whenever the Evans Brothers are in town.

Chris asks you if he should take the role of Captain America. Though he already has other people telling him to like RDJ and Marvel executives.

“Take it. Johnny Storm was shit. I wanna see you fail again.”

He freaks out.

You calm him down and have him lay on top of you.

You wrap your arms around him and start playing with his hair.

“It’s gonna be okay and you’ll be fine either way.”

He takes the role.

He calls you while he’s filming.

You’ve even talked him down from panic and anxiety attacks.

Chris brings you and his family to the premiere of Captain America: The First Avenger.

You meet RDJ along with Chris Hemsworth.

You’re absolutely star strucked and pretty much drooling over the Australian actor. You’re thankful he’s taken and that you have no confidence to ask him out if he wasn’t.

Your Chris gets a bit jealous of how you look at Hemsworth and does anything in his power to keep you away from the Australian.

He even has you sit next to him.

You grip his hand tightly when Bucky dies and seeing Steve look so heartbroken.

“I’m surprised your girl ain’t close to you,” Sebastian Stan teased his costar.

“She’s just a friend.”

“Oh, so, I can ask her out then?”

“No, you cannot. I’ll kill you. Don’t you dare think about it, Stan.”

Sebastian laughs and raises his hands in defense.

After the premiere, Chris gets all cuddly and snuggly with you so much so that he has to sleep in the same hotel room bed as you.

He can get very clingy with you especially if he’s jealous.

He goes back to filming for Avengers and you go back to New York.

You run into Sebastian and get his number.

He introduces you to some people and your first real adult boyfriend.

Sebastian does warn you that his friend is a bit of a heartbreaker. But it does nothing.

You think you’re in love. You’re just a fool.

He takes your virginity and leaves you heartbroken.

You call Chris crying.

He flies out ASAP ready to beat the shit out of the guy.

When he sees you, his heart breaks and he just holds you tightly.

And he spoils you rotten while he’s in New York.

Chris, however, has to fly back to Atlanta immediately. He has Sebastian look out for you.

When you graduate, Chris flies out.

His whole family is there along with your own. Except your brother.

Chris is so proud of you. He tells you that all the time.

You managed to score a pretty well paying job in Boston and so you move to Boston. The Evans celebrate it of course.

You and Chris end up very drunk and in his childhood bedroom passed out on the floor.

His doggie East dies.

Chris comes to your new place crying after having to put him down since he can’t go back home just yet.

You put on his favorite movies but it doesn’t make him feel better. You just hold him as he cries.

Chris starts dating this new chick. He spends all his time with her when he’s in Boston.

He missed your 22nd birthday.

No phone call. No text. No card.

Nothing.

And you’re pissed. He’s been to all your birthday parties or he’s called you to wish you a happy birthday. Even those calls last an hour or so.

Scott tells him. Chris gets sassy.

You don’t speak to Chris for awhile.

Literally. 8 months of not speaking to each other.

He comes crawling back.

You give him the silent treatment for 2 months.

You start dating this guy.

He’s very controlling.

The red flags get ignored.

You don’t go to the Avengers premier because he doesn’t allow it.

Chris gets to talk to you less and less along with Scott.

You run to Chris when your boyfriend hits you.

You end up moving in with Chris in his Boston home since somebody likes to come to your place threatening you.

Chris has you get a restraining order.

Many fun nights together.

A lot of movie nights as well if neither of you want to hit up the town.

He’s gone a lot due to filming.

You get transferred to the office in France since the ex is stalking you at work.

It saddens Chris but he visits you whenever he can and especially on press tours when the stop is in France.

You end up quitting your job when you get harassed by a couple of coworkers and nothing gets done.

Chris hires you as his assistant.

You hate the job since he’s such a little shit. But he pays you very well and has you live with him rent free.

This all happens in the same year.

You throw him a surprise party for his birthday.

Scarlett Johansson offers you a job as her assistant.

You quit and take it without hesitation since the last guy was so demanding.

You see Chris on the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He playfully glares at you.

He calls you a traitor.

Anthony Mackie asks him, “when are you gonna ask Scar’s assistant out?”

Chris glared at him and said, “she’s just a friend.”

Sebastian laughs under his mask and gets punched in the arm.

With busy schedules and he starts dating his on/off again chick, you don’t see each other much.

He does surprise you in Vegas for your 24th birthday.

Though, he does have a full blown argument with his latest chick at your party.

You literally left your own birthday party because of it.

You end up in a 24hr diner by yourself and you make friends with an old man dressed as Elvis Presley.

Everyone tries to find you. You did leave your phone in Chris’ pocket since you didn’t have any and you didn’t have room in your small clutch.

It turns into a Hangover movie but everyone is drunk or tipsy.

Or really really drunk.

They finally find you. And you’re singing with Elvis “Can’t Help Falling In Love” as he dances with his wife who’s the owner of the diner.

They’re shocked. Nobody knew you could sing.

It only happens when you’re a sad drunk.

Chris takes your drunken ass back to your hotel room. He spends the night with you.

You fly with Scarlett to LA for the premiere.

Chris steals you from Scarlett and walks the carpet with you.

“You’re such an asshole.”

“Thank you. I try.”

You start getting hate from “fans” of his.

It brings you down.

Chris puts out a tweet pretty telling everyone to fuck off if they think that they can send you hate.

“You’re my best friend.”

LIES!

You’re so much more to him whether or not any of you admit it.

You see him again on set for Avengers: Age of Ultron.

He’s very happy to see you especially after being cheated on by a girl he thought he might marry.

Whenever Scarlett doesn’t need you, Chris takes you away.

It’s an ongoing joke.

RDJ thinks about hiring you ever since you brought him.

Scarlett threatens him. She’s also pregnant.

Elizabeth Olsen befriends you.

At the wrap party, you and Chris play beer pong against Hemsworth and Renner.

You beat them.

Everyone comes to the conclusion that you and Chris are like frat guys.

The night ends with you and Chris having unprotected sex. (Wrap it before you tap it).

You both don’t mention it at all and act like it never happened. But it did.
