You let out a loud moan as you feel yourself clench down on his cock with your orgasm, his own release following yours with a groan. You pant as your body leans down against his, your sweat covered skin sticking to his slightly as you both catch your breaths.

You and Ransom had been fucking for years now, exclusively fucking. You knew it meant nothing to him, but you still held the hopeless crush for him that had developed into a deep love. Even now you take in the bliss of being close to him like this for few minutes before he pushes away again, running back to his girlfriend that he now lived with.

“I’m going to propose to her.” He says quietly as you’re both redressing, you freeze, your heart dropping in despair.

“What?” You ask shakily, your eyes not meeting his as your hands clench together tightly. He sighs as he stands up, picking his coat up off the back of the couch from where he threw it earlier.

“I’m going to marry Heather. She makes me happy and I want to spend the rest of my life with her, meaning I have to put a stop our arrangement here.” He doesn’t face you, doesn’t even sit down next to you to talk this out like adults. You press your lips together tightly as a tear escapes your eye, not bothering to wipe it away as you stand up and look at him, really look at him.

His shoulders are tense as he stands near the doorway, the couch between the two of you, he doesn’t react to the obvious heartbreak written across your face. In fact, he seems to smirk a little bit at the devastation, as if he’s won a game. That’s when you realise that it’s all been his game, his sick and twisted game.

“It was all a game wasn’t it?” You ask angrily, you’re face flaring up with heat at his small laugh and mocking grin. You had fallen for his childish antics, you almost want to scoff at your naïve little heart.

“I love her Y/n.” He says seriously this time, turning his wrist to check the time, he doesn’t stick around to say goodbye. He doesn’t even let you explain yourself before he’s out the door, his beamer taking off down the road without a care. Leaving you sitting down with your head in your hands, broken sobs and endless tears falling from your eyes.

You wish you could say that you didn’t care, that it was just fucking and a school girl crush. But it wasn’t. It wasn’t something that you could brush off with a few tears, instead you constantly found yourself awake at night staring up at your ceiling as your heart called out to him. To get to love him as she got to, to wake up in his arms every morning and see his blinding smile. To be the one he sought out for comfort, the one who he kissed and loved upon daily.

As your look into the mirror at your best friend, you can’t help the deep depression that wants to swarm over you. She truly was a beautiful bride and the selfish part of you scoffed at that, whereas the other side of you quietly whispered that they were perfect for each other. You had to tell yourself over and over again that he didn’t love you, that he wasn’t yours to love, as you smiled falsely at your best friend.

Because this was it, you needed to let him go from your heart. He would never love you the way you loved him, never see you as he took in the shine of his soon-to-be wife. Because you were nothing to him, nothing but a decent fuck he could throw away when he was done. Because you weren’t her.

As you take your place in the front rows, yes that’s right you didn’t even make it into the wedding party, you can’t help but drink in his appearance. The sleek black tux complimenting his best attributes, his hair gelled back and freshly cut. He looked like a little piece of heaven and you couldn’t avoid the sharp tug in your chest, he will never look at you with anything but disgust, a broken toy of his, your mind taunts you.

While everyone else has turned to watch the bride walk down the aisle your eyes are glued to him, his eyes tearing up and his lips forming a bright loving smile that you’ve never seen before. Your eyes squeeze shut to keep the tears at bay at the sight, why couldn’t he look at you like that? What was so wrong with you that he couldn’t love you like he loved her?

Watching the two exchange their “I do’s” and their first kiss as Mr. and Mrs. Drysdale was like stabbing several tiny needles into your heart non-stop. Your brain telling you that they were the perfect couple, your heart screaming in agony as it reminds you that you weren’t good enough.

You lean back against the cold brick wall, a cigarette in between your fingers as you take in deep puffs to try and calm your hateful thoughts. The music blasting from inside the hall, you had slipped out after moping at a table by yourself for hours watching them dance together.

“I didn’t mean to do this to you.” A voice startles you, you quickly turn to your left to see him standing there with his hands in his pockets. He looks bashful, almost apologetic.

“Do what to me?” You ask as if you had no idea what he was talking about. You knew he was referring to your obvious depression, the dark circles under your eyes and the loss of weight. He just frowns at you as he stands in front of you, his addictive blue eyes taking in your broken state.

“Break your heart.” He answers hesitantly. He swallows deeply as you laugh a little, tipping your head back slightly to hide the obvious tears forming in your eyes. You want to scream and cry, your misery was so bad that it caused him to follow you out here to apologise, on his wedding night of all things.

“It’s not your fault, you deserve the happiness she gives you.” You mumble out sadly, the tears flowing down your cheeks in steady streams, dripping down your cheeks until the land on the ground below you. Ransom takes a small step closer as he watches you cry, the guilt eating away at him for causing this.

“What about your happiness?” He mumbles as he lifts a hand to wipe your cheek lightly, noticing the way you lean into his soft touch desperately.

“I don’t deserve to be happy, I truly don’t. And it’s okay, all the good things have always been ripped from my hands.” You sob out shakily, trying and failing to smile up at his concerned expression.

“Y/n..” He sighs out, wanting to make it hurt less. Wanting you to know that you deserve so much more than this, more than the pain that he’s obviously caused you every day. But he’s interrupted by the sound of his wife calling his name, causing him to quickly pull away from you like your presence burned him. He notices the hurt in your eyes, the slight shake to your arms as you wrap them around yourself.

“Go to her ran, go be happy.” You croak out with a fake smile, barely holding yourself together at this point. He wants to pull you into his arms, hold you close and tell you that it’s okay, that he was there. But he can’t, the gold band around his finger reminds him of that.

So, with a deep breath he leaves you there, a broken mess that was crumbling without him. He goes back inside and laughs with his friends and family, his wife on his arm as they shine brightly together. You however slide down the brick wall, landing on the wet ground with a sharp sob, the last bit of strength leaving you as you crumble on the cold wet ground.
