Little recap of episode 4 of season 4 of Wakfu
Look at this!!
Tumblr media
You saw this beautiful smile???? This smile can stop babies from crying (and Nora). This smile can revive a puppy.
You saw it???
Well, I hope you did because I think we'll not see it in a really loooooooong time~ (maybe 9... Or 10 episodes.) The storm is coming... violently with a bat.
Tumblr media
(BEHOLD SPOILERS OF EP 4 OF SEASON 4 OF WAKFU)
I remember Tot said season 4 was gonna be sad a f*ck and that Yugo will have to pass some kind of "hard trial" (AGAIN) in this season because this kid will never have a good rest. Not even a breath. Stop. Give this little boy some holidays c'mon, the lord is always testing our little angel to the limit. (And by lord I mean Ankama I'm looking at you...)
Tumblr media
So it's very likely that Yugo will start to suffer even more in the next episode. And of course, in the entire season :))))))) Let this boy have something, someone precious by his side more than an instant and stop take it from him in the next second, I beg you. (He just found his family... And... Qilby I guess. And Adamai just abandoned him already to investigate by his own way...)
Tumblr media
Just seeing how the kings and queens of every nation were so disrespectful in front of him and just called his mother a monster and made her cry, well. (I want to riot! When Joris said they were "quite tense" he fell short.)
Tumblr media
Okay, yes, I understand the eyes in the sky~ are pretty creepy and of course I don't trust her either, at least, like this is so suspicious for sure, no one was born yesterday even when she is trying to be so kind and helpful monitoring the entire planet (yeessss mom, way too much).
But, c'mon, this is a goddess as tall as... I don't know, as much as she wants, girl she is made of f*cking magic. If she wanted she could erase you from existence. She didn't have to give a f*ck about anyone and HERE WE ARE~
The best thing you can do is looking for a fight with her in the moment you meet her with no hesitasion? Do you want to die that much? Do you know about survival? Did you skip that class maybe? (I'm going for a tea BECAUSE-)
It was so necessary to (be a little racist dear rich people and) insult the giant blue mother of your hero in his f*cking face and the people who are at least trying to do your job (which any of you losers did well, like ever, btw. When Sadida kingdom was about to be destroyed by the chaos of Ogrest what did you do?? Eh, where were you???)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jobs like protecting and saving your citizens from, nothing, being robbed and I don't know: imminent death??? I mean, really? Was that all you thought about in this situation? Being a d*ck was your best choice.
Tumblr media
These same guys here were talking about stolen freedom?? What freedom? The brotherhood of Tofu had to save your asses for like 3 season. 3 ovas and dozens of comics. The same people who criticize others actions but never assist and reunite when they are needed, Cause I don't know Rick, it seems a little fake....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yugo just met his mom and his sis and he already has the world of 12 hating them... Like wow, the rulers are all going to die in the hands of that kind of white demon/zombies of TLOU/soul suckers or whatever they are. And I really don't give a f*ck for any of them, ladies and gentlemen. Only the crowns are going to remain. (Down with the monarchy.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Weeeeeeeell.
You know what? I don't care what Yugo will do from this point. Nop, not a bit. But I'm with him to the end of everything. I will support you honey, I will defend you no matter what. I mean, I'll be totally okay if he decides to save the world for the third f*cking time and I also will be okay if in the end he prefers to let all these motherf*ckers die in an instant with no mercy and no regre-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it could even happen that Yugo loses someone important in season 4... (The same way I will lose my mind.) Hope that never happens, I just swear to god-
Anyway, Yugo fans, unite and brace yourselves.

Having finished season 1 of "Good Girls," let me say that:
It is a hilarious series with 3 disaster leads (affectionate), but for all of its slapstick humor, its heart is: working class women trying to stay afloat.
Retta, Hendricks and Whitman give amazing performances that complement each other. Their chemistry truly is the biggest strength of the show.
Joan on "Mad Men" was understandably guarded, so it's refreshingly different to see Hendricks let loose as Beth. The way her voice switches from sweet and girly to sharp and authoritative on the spot? 11/10.
Retta nails both the comedic and dramatic bits with ease.
Whitman is charming as emotionally immature yet completely lovable Annie.
Truth be told, the season drags a little towards the second half despite the fact that the series is fast paced in general. They could have gotten away with 8-9 episodes instead of 10.
Yes, the concept is not entirely believable or original, but who cares? Didn't see anyone criticizing "Breaking Bad" for its straight up cartoonish moments. Why do we have to be so harsh when it comes to soapy delights that do not take themselves seriously like this one or "Why Women Kill"? Prestige dramas are good and all, but please give us a break from the typical male antihero narrative.
My point is, it is not the most scathing or poignant take on #MeToo and feminism, but so what?
Watching Beth hit the guy that almost rapes her sister reminded me of that moment in "Kevin Can F*ck Himself" where Patty injures her brother to protect Allison.
They paraphrased "Thelma and Louise" during that very scene. <3
Allison Tolman, here you are again being a total gift. If only she had more screen time/were a regular. Let her extort the ladies all she wants, but get rid of Leslie.
Say whatever you want about Dean, but Matthew Lillard's scenes with Hendricks are [chef's kiss].
Really loved Annie's child. Ruby's was also a delight. Both family arcs were touching.
Ruby and Stan. What a loving relationship. It was inevitable that the lie would leave their marriage in shambles, but it still is upsetting when that happens.
For a moment there, I was afraid that they were going to make Nancy the 1D "bitchy" wife so that the audience would root for Gregg and Annie (I do like them, but I do not think they will work out). Suffice to say, I gave a sigh of relief when they had Annie sympathize with her and call Gregg out on his shit.
I do not get the hype about Rio. He was funny in the beginning, but his generic/1D bad guy shtick got repetitive and annoying pretty fast. He shows up, puts on that growly voice, recycles 3 facial expressions while threatening the ladies and flirting with Beth, leaves. It does not help matters that Hendricks outshines the actor in every scene they share. From the way people talked about him, I thought he'd be more of a male Villanelle (s1 Villanelle), but without APD. Mea culpa. Knowing that they were actually initiating a romance, not just sexual tension between them, does not surprise me in the least, but it does leave me unimpressed.

9. Miss Marvel 🦸‍♀️
8. Moon Knight 🌙
7. Wednesday 🖕
6. The Boys' 3rd Season 🦸‍♂️
5. The Crown's 5th Season 👑
4. Andor 🌌
3. Better Call Saul's 6th & Final Season ⚖
2. Westworld's 4th & (sadly) Final Season 🤖
1. 1899🜃
_________________________________________
Honorable Mentions:
The Umbrella Academy's 3rd Season ☔
(My guilty pleasure! I think this show is actually really good and misunderstood by a lot of people. And I can't help but love my lunatics so it was a win for me!)
Stranger Things' 4th Season 🕰
(As much as I hate this f*cking season and still gets annoyed by it everyday, it still paid the bills for 3 years and was a moment regardless given everything that happened in it... 🙄 Some I enjoyed, MANY I did not. But I have to mention in as a show of good faith.😏 At least what's left of it...)
Euphoria's 2nd Season 💊
(I have mixed feelings about this season overall compared to the first one. A lot of amazing moments as well as a lot of infuriating choices, however directing, music and acting was on point especially for Zendaya and Sydney.)
Guillermo Del Toro's Cabinet Of Curiosities🗝
(I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this show. It's one of the better anthology series out there I must say, as each episode felt carefully crafted. Favorites are episode 3, 7 which is a f*cking vibe & 8; at least those who come to mind right now. However, I will never watch episode 5 again (I probably will though) because it made me feel the most uneasy I've ever been in front of an episode, and it is cursed, ugly, offensive, horrifying and... ANYWAY!)
She-Hulk 🟢
(It was fun.)

About 2 season of Primal and about the horned entity
1 season of Primal is one of my favourite series of all time. Gorgeous animation, breathtaking and brutal fights, stunning music, mesmerizing prehistoric world with dinosaurs and various animals and magical tribes, perfect combination of drama, humour, horror, adventure and emotional relationships of incredibly relatable characters. By far, 1 season of Primal is the pure masterpiece. Hence, 2 season had really great potential for epic story in unique setting and with various new creatures, magical tribes or even supernatural beings.
Tumblr media
But 2 season happens (and it doesn't explain how the vikings found Mira, who travelled many miles with Spear and Fang, and why they so wanted to capture her again, but didn't capture her friends from her tribe), and with the first two really powerful episodes, the other episodes and the story itself in this season are bad. I was incredibly skeptical and even negative toward the idea of adding modern humans, because it simply made 2 season primitive, boring and bland. Evetything what made 1 season and the series itself so unique, deep, tragic and fresh in therms of setting, story and conflicts was erased. The ambiguity, maturity and complexity of 1 season (with wild world, where everyone tries to survive) is erased. Even the fight scenes in 2 season are downgrade, as well as the villains die in bland way (falling from height as in most Disney movies). 2 season has several absolutely unneeded, one-dimensional, faceless and stereotypical villains (the tyrant queen with typical cliche "Oh no, they capture and enslave people!"), and the certain ones even have hypocritical shades (vikings "Oh no, I and my tribe enslaved and killed people, so how dare Spear and Fang to kill my tribe, protecting their friend we enslaved!"), who just happens here and has no importance for the story and characters. The queen is the brightest example. (and how the f*ck many sea dinosaur didn't attack and eat/kill vikings and Egyptians, if they travel in ocean/sea?!)
Tumblr media
The Egyptian queen and this sub-plot with enslaved Africans are just waste of time, pointless waste of time (Spear had all chances and moments to easily kill her in 7 or 8 episodes)— especially with the fact that Kamau and his family obviously died after the fire viking arrived. So what's the f*cking point?! So 7, 8 and 9 episodes have to be removed, as well as 5 episode, which is literally The Big-Lipped Alligator Moment, coming from nowhere.
Tumblr media
Not to mention Genndy's creepy preg-fetishes again. Now I'll make it clear, I have no problems with Fang laying her eggs with detailed demonstrating her cloaca. The problem here is in Genndy's boasting by this scene like "If it never was in animation, so you have to add this type of content!" — oh yes, there never were animated films, where characters are pregnant or give birth, right?! No "Feherlofia", no "Spirit the stallion of Cimmaron", no "Krtek", no "Ice Age 3", no "A hen into the wild", for example?! I even don't want to make jokes about hentai with specific genres, where this "groundbreaking" aspect happens for eternity.
Tumblr media
And not to mention the f*cking blatant necrophilia Genndy forced Mira to do in the finale. Yes, if many people scorned the scene where Fang gives birth, the scene between Mira and dead Spear in the finale bothers me much much more. Absolutely disgusting sh*t, which literally humilates dying Spear and breaks the logic! Really, Spear has the most serious and fatal burns. He experiences unbearable pain and he had to die almost immediately. But somehow he is still alive all these hours for Mira's coming and somehow he still has genitals and somehow he f*cking was able to make a child to Mira for a few seconds before death — that moment destroys the logic and every grasp of reality!
Tumblr media
I can not for the life of me understand, why the author is so obsessed with pregnancy and childbirth (so he shows it in almost all his projects) and "You have to make babies before death or any other trouble! It's your main purpose!" idea — I won't be surprised, if the ending in "Fixed" will be about this, i.e. the protagonist dog will mate before his neutering, so his female friend will have pups. Not to mention the author's obsessiveness in giving daughters (lots of daughters, lots of sudden daughters) to some awesome male characters, especially to the ones who always were asexual and lonely and never interested in carnal pleasures, in getting wife and making children. Plus, due to the fact that every main female character in Genndy's shows is literal Mary Sue (except Mira), I am afraid for 3 season and Spear's daughter, because Tartakovsky can turn her into Mary Sue, whose only excuse for all-powerfullnes is "My daddy was cool, so that's why I am cool! His genes made me cool!".
Tumblr media
I was against continuing the show, I was against the idea of making 3 season, because the final scene (above) was at least poetic, but more I am against the anthology idea. But my main issue in 2 season is the horned deity, who's either Surtr or Vidarr or some kind of revenge/hell god (Genndy said it's unstated, who this entity is). And the main problem is that this character literally is a plot device. He's absolutely real in the story, he's not some symbol or whatever, and he affects on the events in the story. He has no motivation and goal for things he does in 2 season. He was created simply because the authors were unable to make logical events for Spear's heroic death in successful attempt to protect his friends (if they so wanted to kill Spear).
Tumblr media
Seriously, the viking and his son died in 6 episode — the end of the conflict. But the horned entity in exchange of Eldar's resurrection offers the viking-father to bring Spear and Fang to him/it. WHY?! What this entity wanted from Spear and Fang?! And why he/it offered/ordered this exactly to the viking instead of own demonic servants, if he/it didn't want to do this by self?! What is the benefit for him here and in what?! Absolutely no explanation.
Tumblr media
The biggest WTF-moment happens in 10 episode. The viking, even being in demonic form, is scared of Spear, who kicked his ass, and although the viking seriously injured Spear and hurted Fang, they both were still alive, but the entity grabs the viking into the underworld, absolutely ignoring Spear and Fang. THEN WHAT THIS HORNED THING WANTED?! Seriously, a third-party incomprehensible character comes from nowhere and gets into someone else's conflict already completed in episode 6, continues it and eventually resolves it himself in episode 10! What kind of nonsense is this?!
Tumblr media
What's a point to add this random supernatural sh*t, if it has no development, no personality as a real character, no explained nature and role, no motivation and goal to be here and to do something?! The horned entity is a plot device, the function for the events the author wants to happen, ignoring plot or logical holes and contradictions in favor of "higher messages/symbolism".

Anime I Watched in 2021 :
1. Dororo 5/5
Severely underrated anime. Great animation. Intriguing plot. Likable characters. Just enough of angst. Highly recommend this one.
Tumblr media
2. Burn the Witch 4/5
Great to see Tite Kubo’s work again. And great to see the bleach universe once more. Can’t wait for this to continue. Already love the story and characters. Interesting villains (and by interesting I mean hawt 🥵)
Tumblr media
3. Fruits Basket 2019 5/5
Listen I didn’t want to like this one. It was so hyped that I thought it was overrated but booooyyy was I wrong. It deserved the hype. The plot was top tier. At the end of the second season I had to pick my jaw off the ground with that reveal. All the characters were likable. Except Akito; she deserved punishment for what she put all the members of the Zodiac through. Overall this is highly recommended.
Tumblr media
4. Re: Zero 4/5
This one took me to Spain without the S. This one frustrated me but I just had to keep on going. Subaru is the biggest simp but I can’t blame him; Emilia is just the cutest. Really liked this one but I’m not sure if I’m emotionally ready for the next season. Also this anime made me scared of bunnies 🐰
Tumblr media
5. Gintama 1,00,000/5
Where do I even begin with this masterpiece. I went into this for the comedy. THE COMEDY!!! I did not expect the FEELS. Jesus H. Christ this one blew me away. All the characters were likable, the plots were sometimes questionable but it worked for this anime. The OST’s were god tier. The openings and endings deserve awards. Unpopular opinion but I think Gintama’s opening and endings are better than Naruto. Please if you haven’t watched this one just give it a chance. It took a couple episodes to hook me in but when it did it, it hooked me good. Also if you want an anime with strong female characters this is the one. No waiting for men to save the heroine, the women go in and f*ck shit up (I’m looking at you Courtesan of a Nation Arc.) Seriously though, everyone needs to watch this.
Tumblr media
6. Devil man Crybaby 4/5
My coworker put me on to this one. Word of advice: do not watch this one at work 👀 that first episode almost gave me a heart attack. This one surprised me. And that ending wow 🤯. This anime is not for the faint of heart. Please don’t watch this if you’re underaged. I took a while to like the animation style but it eventually grew on me. Overall it’s a good one that I highly recommend.
Tumblr media
7. Those Snow White Notes
Tik Tok recommended this anime to me. You know that one scene with the guy and his mom in the apartment, yeah that one. I remembered getting goosebumps and I knew I had to watch and for once tik tok lead me in the right direction. This one isn’t about romance or school is about the shamisen ( a traditional Japanese instrument) and let me tell you how good this was. The music blew me away. The emotions from the MC and his love/hate relationship with the shamisen really captivated me. And that first opening was amazing. Definitely recommend this one.
Tumblr media
8. To Your Eternity 5/5
I think I need to send my therapy bill to the creator of this show. Seriously though this one brought pain but goddamn that opening was good. And Fushi was just too dang cute you wanted to see his progress. This one had so many characters that you just can’t help but fall in love with each one of them and damn the author for ripping out my heart every time.
Tumblr media
9. Heaven’s Official Blessing 5/5
I’m sorry but Xie Lian and Hua Cheng invented true love. There’s no debating. They’re the epitome of power couple. This series took me by surprise and I loved every millisecond of it. And please if you haven’t read the novel PLEASE PLEASE read it!!! I promise it’s worth it. Now excuse me while I cry because I’m sad and lonely 😩
Tumblr media
10. Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation 4/5
This was one was great. Action, comedy, tragedy with a added touch of barely there romance. Since this was only the second Chinese animation that I watched the names were a bit confusing but by the third season I kinda got it?

Season 7 coming out this summer(?)
So on Twitter, I found a link to PBS Utah's list of Family Night Events, which shows upcoming airings of PBS Kids shows, premieres, and more. AND LOOK WHAT IS FUCKEN THERE.
Tumblr media
what do they mean by double feature.
WHAT DO THEY MEAN BY DOUBLE FEATURE?!???!?!
I don't want to instantly jump to conclusions about this because I honestly don't know what the f*ck this means, but I'm 79% positive they're referring to the Season 7 premiere. Which would make sense since WK is familiar with hour-long season premieres and finales, and those episodes are often split into two-parters, hence making them double-length.
Another option (which I think is the most likely) is that this "double-feature" could consist of two episodes that will air-back to back. Lost at Sea, and Swamp Things were both double-features of episodes that aired weeks before the episodes aired individually. This would make the most sense because at this point, the hiatus has lasted a full year and 3 days, so I think this double-feature will be an attempt to make up for that, as well as future episodes (if they make us wait another 9-12 months, I am going to fucking FLIP).
Now, it's possible that as we get closer to the date, we'll get more info, but for now, I'm going to come to the conclusion/assumption that Season 7 premieres this July.

I’m Already Turned Off By This Season of The Walking Dead.
We are only into episode 3 of season 11 and I just want to throw my computer in the garbage and never watch another episode of the series ever again. Now, I am not mad a JDM, he is the best actor on this show and I love him to death.
These reasons I want to blow up AMC right now:
1. Everyone treating Negan like shit!! Now, in fairness, I did expect Maggie to be pissed at Negan. And I’m not mad at the fact that Maggie is pissed at Negan. She has her rights. But when last season we had Daryl and Negan getting closer and everybody seemed okay with Negan fixing up Alexandria, then Maggie walks in and everyone turns on Negan. Like he didn’t save all their heads from being on a spike. Like he didn’t kill Alpha or nearly got himself killed to fight Beta and help Daryl kill him. And then Alden at the church is all like “You know why I walked away from him?” Meaning Negan. F*ck off Alden. First, you weren’t that important to the Saviors to walk away. Second, you walked because you had a gun pointed at you when Rick and the others found you. Idiot!
2. It was 8 years ago!!! Yes, I know Negan did some really shitty things. No doubt. But he did his time. He was in a cell for 8 years. And since there are no laws in TWD. He was basically kidnapped and help against his will. So yes! He did his time!
3. Maggie and her off/on the switch. One minute she wants Negan’s help. The next minute she threatening to kill him. The next minute she was cool with having him help again. Then next minute she’s telling him to stop pretending he’s one of them and telling him everything is his fault. MAKE UP YOUR GODDAMN MIND!!!
4. She tells Negan that she doesn’t play with people’s lives like he does. It’s actually like he did, Maggie. As in past tense. Get it right. And also Maggie, yes you do. Gage was on the other side of the door on the train and he called Maggie out. He called her a liar when she refused to let anyone open that door. And he was right! Her excuse was the walkers would get in and they didn’t have the bullets. And yet, the door locks. And yet, the walkers got through anyway. Now, yes Daryl did help at the end, but they could have done it. And she did it to Negan with her friends. She stood there hoping she’d watched him die. And she wanted to keep everyone in the rain. She wanted to stay on the road where anyone could see them, and so on. She keeps playing with their lives until someone tells her Negan is right. There are at least three times where Daryl and Alden said “He’s right.” Daryl said it in the rain. Alden said it on the road and again in the church. There might be another, not sure, but those are the two I remember.
5. Negan is a better leader than Maggie. Negan has proved this time and time again in only 3 episodes. Now yes, back in the Savior days there were times where it could have been questioned. But shit! He had an army of over 500 people following him! But back to now, Negan continues to offer the right decisions and Maggie continuously does the opposite. Negan was right. Her plan is a shitty plan. She got all her friends killed. She got herself separated from Gabe & Daryl. She got Alden and Negan wounded. I know people are starving, but they needed a new plan. And she continuously sticks to this plan that hasn’t worked out at all.
6. Negan has saved Maggie twice, in the same scene. I know, I know he left her at the train scene, but let’s be honest here, she deserved it. And he did feel bad for it. And he is making up for it. He didn’t lie about leaving her and as I just said he saved her twice. One from a reaper and one from explosives.
7. As soon as Negan shows one ounce of happiness or joy or a sense of normalcy, someone (usually Maggie) kicks him in the dick. And he feels like shit again. WE GET IT. HE DID SHITTY THINGS! OMG move on!
8. The whole “Negan killed Glenn and should be mentally and verbally tortured every day but Daryl is allowed to get away with being the cause of it ” thing is getting super old. It’s unfair. It’s wrong. And it makes them no better than Negan was back in the Savior days. In fact, it makes them worse. Negan would have punished The Savior or friend if not killed him or her for getting his wife brutally beaten to death in front of him if they were the cause of that death. If it was the other way around. But Daryl?? Oh it’s totally cool that he got Glenn killed. Because Negan killed him. F*CK OFF!! IT’S BULLSHIT!
9. LASTLY. Maggie is becoming Savior Negan.
A. She lost someone she loved, so did Negan.
B. She killed Gregory for backstabbing and trying to take over by getting her killed. Negan (Who took the better route) killed Simon in a fight to the death for leadership after he was caught doing the same thing.
C. She’s treating Negan the same way Negan treated Rick.
D. She claims to care about her people But doesn’t care about anyone but herself and her son until it’s too late. Negan did the same. He claimed to care about his people. But yet he literally said to Rick “I do not appreciate you killing my men. Also, when I sent my people to kill your people for killing my people, you killed more of my people.” And then later he said “You killed my people. More than what I’m comfortable with.” He sent them out twice to kill Rick and the others. He cared when it was too late. I’m gonna say it... Maggie is one slit throat and a cell away from being full-on Savior Negan and no one is catching on or at least not saying anything (But Negan). And yet, on the show, all of this is okay because it’s Maggie.
END OF RANT.

Okay, Natalie’s Ten Thoughts™️ about CK Season 4:
Honorable mention to the Jumping the Shark moments to end all JTS moments:
CarrieUnderwoodAtAllValleyTournament.gif
Anywho… onward…
10. I do continue to love Demetri and Yasmine. It’s so fucking random to me but like, in a good way. I miss their banter but Yas grabbing his ass in the hallway was hilarious.
9. Terry Silver is a better villain than John Kreese. Cocaine or no cocaine.
8. FUCK YOU, STINGRAY.
7. L M A O at Robby and Tory’s Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights sequence. What even? That being said, I kinda ship it. They’re adorably supportive of one another idk i just want Tory and Robby to be happy
6. The LaRusso’s continue to suck and continue to learn absolutely nothing. They even dragged Queen Amanda down to their level this season. That’s a direct attack on me, I’m taking that shit personally.
Also? How DARE they bring back Aisha just to support Sam, when she was much better friends with Tory by the end of things. AND how dare Sam learn the EXACT opposite lesson Aisha was trying to teach. Like if you’re going to bring in a Black character to support a white girl’s journey AT LEAST let there be fucking pay off. Boo on this entire choice.
5. Okay, here we go…. let’s start with my least offensive arc, which was Robby’s. First of all, shout-out to T.Buchanan for s e l l i n g me on Robby this season. I’ve never NOT liked Robby, but Robby and Johnny have a similar relationship to the one I had with my own biological father, who died when I was in my teenage years. I have a lot of regrets about how I interacted with him and so I spend a lot of time wanting to gently shake Robby or bonk him with a foam bat because I see this fictional character making the same mistakes I made and I want him to be BETTER! And I truly believe Robby was trying. He doesn’t really owe Johnny or Daniel shit, but he at least tries to be civil and play by the rules. Robby is unfortunately still Johnnys son and still prone to reactionary hot-headedness, but he really tried… for the most part anyway… to keep it in check this season. He did not succeed with Hawk of course, and ended up transferring some of those issues onto poor Kenny, but in the end, Robby realizes he screwed up and ugh. I just really overall loved Robby this season. The Rise and Fall of the new King Cobra and hopefully Johnny finally pulls his head out of his ass with ONE child. It would be a start.
4. Okay, actually, speaking of… can I just say how infuriating it is to me, as someone who is very firmly back to LOATHING Sam LaRusso after I tried so hard to root for her in season 3… that Johnny and Daniel have spent 3 seasons and TWO SONS/SON FIGURES trying to put aside their differences and work together… and the one that finally manages to make them do that is fucking SAM? How does the girl who grew up well adjusted with both of her parents in the picture and a very loving father get a SECOND father figure when Robby and Miguel can’t even get Johnny to be a good primary father figure to them??? Like what the fuck is that? Explain to me why this little girl who is so intent on making her own adult decisions all season long and spends most of the episodes yelling at these two men or otherwise undermining their lessons, suddenly gets the guidance, love, and support of two men who can’t stand each other usually, but Miguel and Robby couldn’t? I wasn’t mad about this until I thought about it and now I’m LIVID about it.
3. Tory Nichols deserves better. And like… I believe Amanda was trying. And I’m glad we got some dirt on Amanda’s past that contextualizes why she was even motivated to help (something beyond her obvious upper-middle class white lady guilt). But she still dropped the ball so hard. She owes Tory an apology and she also needs to give Sam her come to Jesus moment over Tory and Tory needs to witness that. Tory needs to believe that an adult gives a shit about her beyond seeing what value she brings to them. I hope Tory and Amanda continue to have a relationship going forward and I hope it culminates ultimately in Amanda realizing how far off the reservation her daughter is over this girl who literally had initially done nothing to Sam but was instigated into a 2 year long feud with her because Sam assumed the worst about Tory from the beginning. Tory needs the chance to basically remind Sam that SAM was the one who started this whole war by accusing her of stealing her mom’s wallet. Sam needs to realize that SHE set all of this in motion between them — not Tory. And Tory needs an adult to stick by her side through that. I really really hope it’s Amanda. Your loyalty to your kids should not extend to when they themselves are the bullies.
Also, I hope Tory leaves Cobra Kai. With Kreese gone — who she obviously respected more than Silver — I think she will eventually bounce… especially because it’s clear that Silver doesn’t respect her abilities if he thought he had to pay off the ref to get the win. So I suspect she’ll have her Hawk moment — I just hope it’s before the end of season 5. And I hope that her and Robby don’t fall apart because he leaves Cobra Kai (which I also assume is coming given how 4 ended).
Anyway, stan Tory Nichols and her leopard print prom dress for clear skin.
2. Shockingly, Miguel comes in here at number 2 this season but goddamn, Miguel is such a good kid. He’s not perfect. He makes stupid mistakes, and I kind of hate that he’s been defanged this season but also it makes a kind of sense to me, given everything he’s been through. This kid nearly died and was put into a position where he might never have walked again. It gave him a perspective check that really all of these kids need, and coupled with Johnny shattering his heart inadvertently, and then shattering his trust by telling him to go after Hawk — his best friend and the one person who has had Miguel’s back time and time again (however questionable his methods sometimes are lmao)… just the courage it took to walk away and KNOWINGLY tank your dojos chances of keeping the valley… Miguel has some brass ass cojones (and an incredible amount of love and respect for Hawk but that’s another post for another day) and I love that kid so much. I want all the good things for him. If he doesn’t get to go to Stanford in the end, I will riot.
And finally, number 1:
Hawk. The boy who was done SO FUCKING DIRTY this season. I swear, him and Tory both just cannot win. I… I already wrote a lot of my feelings on this but Jesus Christ, how lazy can a writing team be? The setup was there. 1/3rd of a season of Hawk being shit on by MD and CK and Johnny of course because Johnny sucks as a sensei, particularly where Hawk is concerned. 1/3rd of a season of Hawk struggling to find out who he was without CK and how to move forward in himself. 1/3rd of the season trying to prove that he’s found his way forward, culminating in him winning the boys AVT. But no. Instead we…idek how to talk about what we got. I’m glad Hawk won at the AVT… but his road to getting there was absolute bullshit and he as a character deserved so much better than what we got in the second half of the season with him moping everywhere and then becoming a good little Miyagi-Do. That’s not Hawk anymore than Kreese Kai is Hawk and I’m GLAD there was some shedding of that Miyagi-Do bullshit by the end of the AVT. Hawk’s own way forward going to be HIS way — not Daniel’s, not Kreese’s and certainly not Johnny’s. But otherwise, bullshit arc and I will spend the entire off season mad about it.

The Top Ten Times Bridgerton Titillated Me AKA Gave Life
Tumblr media
After making haste to consume the series in a day, and the next rewatching Simon and Daphnes’ scenes only (highly recommend), at the crack of the following, I realized it was the magic of seemingly smaller moments, sometimes, in the form of behind-the-scenes and back story beauty, woven into the larger storyline expositions that really stayed with me—a storytelling feat Her Majesty, Shonda Rhimes, is known for. Here are the top ten times this happened, causing my cinephile soul considerable thought and feels.
1. Simon’s bedside manner while Daphne is in labor
It struck me the first time while watching how—how shall I put it—calm Simon looked, while Daphne screamed and breathed her head off. No, calm is not quite the word—eerily still, without any emotion or exertion of his own. At first confounded by His Grace, I realized he was terrified; scarred and petrified into a place that had no emotion to rely upon. Would Daphne survive childbirth? Was he having an out-of-body experience, imagining, as I am sure he was told, his immense a**hole of a father pacing outside the room where the Duchess was giving birth to Simon, obsessed with the “outcome” and would not deign to be by her side, what that must have felt like, to be so cold and removed from life, feeling, humanity, and here Simon was, in perfect, firm love, at Daphne's side, being a whole part of their child’s birth? (When their son is born, his stock Simon-ness returns, as he, filled with emotion, gently holds their son from Daphne’s arms, then implies, impishly, because of the Bridgerton family tradition, their son’s name must begin with “A.”)
2. A chocolate will do just perfectly
The perfection of friendship between Eloise and Penelope is well on display throughout the series. There was one moment that caught my breath for the sheer ease of what friendship is—truly relating without needing to fully understand the other but being, sitting, anyhow, in pure acceptance of the other and mutual situation. Such is what happens when Penelope tells Eloise, in gentle expository explosion, her path is and will be different, more difficult to navigate than hers, without having a sister who is a Duchess, and moreover, she thinks she wants a life different than the independent dream the two of them speak of. And, to that, Eloise offers a chocolate, and to that, Penelope's smile-inducing smile and simply reaching for one is friendship goals.
3. “I beg your pardon?”
As others have pointed out, there is plenty of hotness to Simon buttoning Daphne’s cuff as a clear metaphor for the sexual unbuttoning/buttoning to come. But, what gets me every time is Simon’s reaction to Daphne’s question, his face both gently confirming and sexily contorting, which seems to beg the idea that in a different house of language, not one for promenade but perhaps one a rake aka Regency f*ck boy would inhabit, this term had an, o, one might say, slightly less innocent meaning.
4. The nighttime, swing chats between Eloise and Benedict
I dare say it was Eloise who checked her brother on his white man privilege that sent him (still) strolling to Henry Granville’s house to take a (completely protected, see white privilege) risk of himself as a potential new somebody, in this case, an artist.
5. Were others hoping Henry and Benedict would have a go at it?
I think I mistook their mutual intrigue for desire, though I dare say Benedict flinging himself with considerable umph into the ménage-a-trois with Madame Delacroix and her friend, may have been, in part, a turn-on from stumbling upon Henry with his love, Lord Willoughby, making love. I recognize this ponderance might be a stretch, but, if I may—remember that conversation A Happiest Season launched in queer Twitterverse about the likelihood, with multiple siblings, of at least one sibling being gay? Come on, there are eight of them! Tell me I am not the only queer fan who would love to see one Bridgerton explore a truthfully desired same-sex relationship on the show.
6. “Simon” (**heart begins to ache**)
After Simon gives one of his best speeches, in episode five to the queen, in his and Daphne’s effort to persuade Her Majesty to assist them in getting a marriage license, so moved is Daphne by what he says, that she turns to him, as if no one else is in the room, with an emotive quiver, staring watery and straight into his eyes, and out comes a quaking: “Simon.” Indeed, Simon’s speech of the love from whom he cannot stay away nor let be the one who got away is the discursive, definitive foreplay to their physical consumption of each other. Later, he says quietly to her heart twisted back: “Everything I said to the queen was true.”
7. “From the mornings you ease, to the evenings you quiet, to the dreams you inhabit, my thoughts of you never end...”
Um. So, this is just one of the most perfect romantic things I have ever heard one human being utter to another.
8. Also: this was a nearly all-female credited writer cast (with the exception of the series’ premiere and finale episodes, credited to showrunner Chris Van Dusen). I delightfully sighed as each woman writer’s name danced in Bridgerton font across my screen. What genius interplay of words that cut and bit and lobbed and heeled, then healed, revealed, and felt so completely—wonderful.  Here are the writing credits:
Janet Lin for episode 2, ”Shock and Delight”
Leila Cohan-Miccio for episode 3, ”The Art of the Swoon”
Abby McDonald for episode 4, “An Affair of Honor”
Joy C. Mitchell for episode 5, ”The Duke and I” Sarah Dollard for episode 6, ”Swish” Jay Ross and Abby McDonald for episode 7, “Oceans Apart”
Additionally listed under writers are Jess Brownell as Executive Story Editor on “Shock and Delight” and “Diamond of the First Water,” Joy C. Mitchell also as Executive Story Editor on “Shock and Delight” and “Diamond of the First Water,” and Abby McDonald as Staff Writer on “Shock and Delight” and “Diamond of the First Water.”
9. Simon goes down—a lot
At least two times we know of, but we may assume more, that giving Her Grace pleasure between her legs is something that comes easily, perhaps even needily, to him. Just that. It is hot and wanting and you know, with various talk about men not wanting to go down on women, well, representation matters.
10. Choosing present over past
This is a Golden Age TV theme of late, strong in the final season of Jessica Jones and luscious The Queen’s Gambit, though, perhaps, choosing to be present is the overall life theme, always, and just manifests differently in all of our journeys. The fabulously eviscerate Lady Danbury says: “Pride, Your Grace: it will cost you everything and leave you with nothing.” What Simon gains by choosing to be in his present is not only the opportunity to feel and develop a love, and family, with Daphne, but he gives himself space—cleans out the leftovers, once and for all—to fully inhabit the now, which means anything could be ahead.

Ep 6 (I should never gone ziplined) 16:57 Kyle v*. This scene is much more triggering than the others because it is not in animation but in live-action. For the first time in the show, there is a scene with real actors and during this scene there is a vomiting scene so it is as triggering as a normal vomiting scene in a movie
Ep 14: (Obama wins !) 13:03 the return of the shit-spitting duck president

season 21
ep 5 (humelle and heroine) 1:30 the mascot v* and 8:36 the policeman v* during the autopsy
Ep 10 (splatty tomatoes) 16:10 to 16:15 and 16:28 to 16:49 all the characters realize that principal PC and vice principal stroung woman are having sex and 18:49 Sharron v* on Randy when he what they saw
Season 22
Ep 5 (the scoots) 18:42 Stan v* because he ate too much candy. It's hard to know if he v* or if he spits
season 23
Ep 8 (turd burglars) 1:03 and 9:14 and 3:22 and 4:02 and 4:14 and 4:18 to 4:27. Lots of v* in this episode
all the rest of the show until season 23 is safe

‘Love and Redemption’ eps 51-59 (final thoughts)
Tumblr media
I feel empty but I’m happy. I finished it, it’s over and it’s going to my top favorite dramas of this year. What a crazy, beautiful, painful but rewarding ride! Also, that’s a huge ass poster but it seemed appropiate for the final post and it’s just gorgeous.
This is a very long post, you’ve been warned lol
First thing first: WE GOT A HAPPY ENDING. I loved the story but I knew, going into it that it was a hell of angst fest and that held me back a bit, except that I learned that it ended happily, and hey, I’m down for those endings. What can I say? I don’t do sad endings, real life is already messed up enough. Also, my boy Sifeng remained from beginning to end, my favorite character in the drama AND enters my honorable list of favorite male leads in dramas I keep thinking about making a real post with that list, maybe soon
I love Xuanji a lot. I want to make that clear before saying what’s next. While I think that she was definitely a lot dumber and gullible that I’d liked her to be, I understood why she was acting the way she did. During  eps 41-50 she didn’t know what Sifeng was doing the way that we as viewers did. She had no idea. Could she have figured it out if she’d tried? Yes, but also, she had a precedent of letting revenge and resentment get the best of her in another 9 lives... so it was not really that crazy that she tried to kill Sifeng. Did I wanted to slap some sense into her? Totally, but I think she was punished enough for doubting him. Not only because she learned the truth of all those past lives and that she always hurt Sifeng but because our male lead himself punished her by pushing her away and given her the cold shoulder once she found him. After two years, mind you.
I think that, if you add all that up, it’s actually a bit more than what she deserved. Poor girl. Also, she totally made up for it once Sifeng forgave her, my heart melted/broke while she cared for him before and after finding out he was dying yet again, because of her, because he saved her.
And then Xuanji made the biggest, most in your face declaration of love and devotion in the whole three realms, when she found out that she was in fact not only the God of War but also the Star of Mosha aka the most terrible and evil dude to ever exist (Dijun’s words not mine) and still opened the crystal lamp... Because only by doing that she could save Sifeng’s life. She basically said “fuck the 3 realms and their peace, if Sifeng’s dead then I don’t care for anything” even when she knew she’d become a man which is hilarious to me bc what the fuck censors?
So Sifeng was no longer on mortal danger but he lost Xuanji sort of since she was now a man lol and thus we never broke the cycle of “we must make Sifeng suffer throughout the whole show”. I can appreciate the consistency of it, even if it broke my heart to see him like that.
Tumblr media
And then the drama turned into a BL drama. Which made me laugh for a good almost 4 episodes. I loved it, it’s true. I can’t deny watching Sifeng stare lovingly at a man while holding his hands and telling him “I won’t leave you” didn’t do things to my heart and that my fangirling personality was left unaffected. I do have trouble coming to an understanding of the censors and their mystical ways because they were just not watching the drama. Or maybe they were, since they cut the ep count from 70 to 59. I do wonder what else was in that part of the story we’ll never get to see. Probs more gay stuff and hey! how dare you deprive me of it, censors?
I’m so glad most side plots and problems were resolved before these last 9 episodes, because then we had all that time to focus on OTP achieving a well deserved happy ending while exploring BL options AND the whole “God of War/Star of Mosha are the same person” was finally explained. Which, wow, it was heavy and fucking Dijun, you really are the shittiest shit excuse of a God to ever shit-exist. What an asshole. I felt really bad Luohuo Jidu, to be betrayed and mutilated in that way by a person you cared for and trusted... that’s a terrible violation to suffer. Truly horrible. He didn’t deserved any of that, he was innocent and he wasn’t going to harm anyone or bring war to the heavens. And the ending they gave to Dijun is my one problem with this drama, the one thing that I hated. But tbh no ending would’ve ever felt satisfactory to me. In the end, Xuanji’s attitude, indifference, was the best position to take, since revenge and hate wouldn’t have done any good.
I did enjoy a bit Dijun’s breakdown when the Heavenly Emperor showed him what could’ve happened if he’d never meddled in the whole affair with his stupid motivation to “save and guard the 3 realms”. It was all caused by him... and as much as I hate to admit it, without him, there wouldn’t be a drama. Think about it, had he not created the God of War, Xuanji wouldn’t exist and Sifeng would’ve never fallen in love with her. Everything was Dijun’s fault, including the love story and I feel conflicted about it ngl hahaha.
Which brings me to the revelation that Sifeng was XiXuan while in Heaven, the son of the Heavenly Emperor, a prince of the Heavens and the gasp, the shock, the screams out of my mouth!! It made a lot of sense that only someone in a high position would fly right in the middle of a heavenly execution and say “You’re not dying today, I will make them send you to the mortal realm and go through 10 tribulations. And I’m going with you.” Like !!!!!! Sifeng was SOOOOO Sifeng even before being Sifeng. Which is the reason why even Luohuo Jidu fell for Sifeng ha!

This was just Sifeng being a sexy badass telling his bf/gf “You need me”
The whole thing while Sifeng was on hell or whatever it’s called, with the Star of Mosha, was totally a BL drama plot and I was loving it. What a way to truly love someone, Sifeng. No matter if she was a dude or a woman or public enemy number 1, he was loyal and supportive of Xuanji in whatever form. Of course no one could resist that level of adoration and ultimately, Sifeng’s fierce love is what saved his life at the end since Luohuo Jidu gave him half of his heart, which reminds me, Heavenly Emperor is really one bad father he barely showed any concern for a son he hadn’t seen in 1000 years and died like 10 times. Wtf? He was also not only a bad father, but also the worst Heavenly Emperor, since he did nothing to prevent any of the problems in the last thousand years!

That was sooo straight of you, drama ;)
I didn’t really understood how Xuanji and Luohuo Jidu got separated but since they already had an independent mind and personality of the other, I guess that was the key? Whatever, love conquers all, and always wins.
After all the big revelations and stopping the end of the world, Sifeng was also in a coma for like a year or who knows how long and poor Xuanji waited/cared for him patiently. To me, it feels safe to say she suffered as much as Sifeng did and loved as loyally as him. Their wedding and their wedding night was stuff out of a fairytale and ChengYi’s ost was the perfect song for it, I was soooooo happy and couldn’t stop smiling like a fool.

The scene with the party, demons and mortals united and celebrating like equals and getting drunk, with Sifeng following his wife around the place while carrying their baby on his arms and trying to get her to put down the wine hahaha was the perfect and a well deserved ending for them.
I like to think they ascended again after a long, happy mortal life, and were free to love and adore each other for eternity. Sifeng, Xuanji, yours was a crazy as f*ck ride, full of pain and tears, but I’m so glad you loved each other so deeply, against all odds, curses, lies and whatnot. Cheers to you and your happiest ending!
I don’t know if I want a season 2! On one hand, if it’s the same cast I’d just have to see it, no question about it, though it ended perfectly. And if it is another cast, why do a second season at all?
