The Librarians (2014) 图书馆员
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Starring: Bob Newhart / Christian Kane / Jane Curtin / John King / John Larquette / Lindy Booth / Matt Frewer / Noah Wyle / Rebecca Romijn / Lesley-Ann Blade Genre: Drama / Comedy / Action / Fantasy / Adventure Country/Region of Production: United States Language: English Date: 2014-12-07 (USA) Number of seasons: 4 Number of episodes: 42 Single episode length: 42 minutes Also known as: Librarian IMDb: tt3663490 Type: Crossover
Summary:
The series follows four people newly recruited by The Library: Colonel Eve Baird (Rebecca Romijn), of the NATO Anti-Terrorist Unit, destined to be the new Guardian; Ezekiel Jones (John Harlan Kim), a consummate thief who can hack an NSA computer as easily as he can steal a Fabergé egg; Cassandra Cillian (Lindy Booth), a brilliant scientist and mathematician who possesses a trace of magic; and Jacob Stone (Christian Kane), polymath, linguist, expert in architecture, art, art history, archaeology and world cultures of the past and present, including Native American cultures, and other fields too numerous to mention, including bar fighting. The latter three received invitations from the Library at the same time as the current Librarian, Flynn Carsen (Noah Wyle), but for various reasons didn't show up for their interviews.
In a break with the concept established in the films that there can be only one Librarian at a time, the first episodes reveal that the state of the world is so dire that it needs a team of Librarians, with Baird serving as Guardian of all four. With the help of Jenkins/Galahad (John Larroquette), immortal manager of the Library’s Annex, they solve impossible mysteries, rewrite and fix key moments in history, recover powerful magical artifacts, fight against supernatural threats, and learn important things about themselves and each other. In the first season, they battle the forces of the Serpent Brotherhood, led by the mysterious immortal Dulaque (Matt Frewer). Carsen, who spends the first season searching for the main Library (removed from time and space at the beginning of the series) appears in some episodes.
The second season offers up a pair of new villains, both from fiction: Prospero (Richard Cox), from Shakespeare's The Tempest, and Moriarty (David S. Lee), Sherlock Holmes' chief nemesis. The former is positioned as the greater evil, attempting to use magic to destroy the world in order to remake it more to his liking. Moriarty is more of a gray villain—generally aligned with Prospero but willing to side with the Librarians when it suits his own interests.
The third season introduces a new adversary, Apep, the Egyptian God of Chaos. Defeated centuries before by the first Librarian, Judson (Bob Newhart), and his Guardian, Charlene (Jane Curtin), he is resurrected when his sarcophagus is opened and embarks on a mission to release pure evil into the world, possessing many different people along the way. While they are trying to stop Apep, the Librarians' actions are closely monitored by General Cynthia Rockwell (Vanessa Williams) from a new secret government agency, called DOSA (Department of Statistical Anomalies).
The fourth season does away with season-long story arcs in favor of stand-alone episodes, with three ongoing issues: Before the vernal equinox, Flynn and Eve must undertake a ceremony that will bind them to each other and to the Library, as Charlene and Judson did before them. They will become immortal and bind the Library to Earth, giving it a human connection and a human heart rather than the cold, implacable and dangerously self-centered attitude that would characterize it without that bond. (We learn in season three that the Library is a conscious entity.) The return of Nicole Noone, Flynn's first Guardian, believed dead and now immortal, raises many questions. And conflict arises between the Librarians over former Librarian Darrington Dare's assertion that there can only be one Librarian at a time, or the result will be disastrous. These three stories are not resolved until the last episode.

Happy Birthday Stephen "Dougray" Scott born on November 25th 1965.
In my opinion Dougray is one of the most underrated Scottish  actors, with his broad Scottish brogue he oozes Scottishness whenever he speaks in his native tongue.
After attending Auchmuty High School in Fife trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where he was named most promising drama student and took the his stage name from his grandmother's surname, "Dougray
Scott's early work was in Scottish national theatre and television, first appearing in the series Soldier Soldier as well as on the stage in the Tim Fleming directed production of Wallace. Early television credits to follow included The Rover, Taggart: Nest of Vipers, Lovejoy, and Soldier Soldier. Scott followed this up with impactful turns in the films You Don't Have to Say You Love Me, Black Beauty, and Another Nine & a Half Weeks. Shortly thereafter, Scott could be seen opposite Drew Barrymore in the hit film Ever After, opposite Robert Duvall, Tea Leoni, and Vanessa Redgrave in the film Deep Impact, as well as the second installment in the hit Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible 2.
He also starred in a film I mentioned the other day, alongside Dougie Henshall, This Years Love, look out for it, it is very funny and full of Scots, but set in London.
Scott also appeared opposite Kate Winslet in Michael Apted's Enigma as well as the 2002 film Ripley's Game, opposite Ray Winstone. Starring opposite Jennifer Connelly in the 2005 film Dark Water and the 2007 film Hit Man, Scott soon appeared in US television for the first time in the ABC miniseries The Ten Commandments as well the Hallmark TV movie Arabian Nights.
Other film roles have included the hit film Ever After, opposite Drew Barrymore Then with Robert Duvall, Tea Leoni, and Vanessa Redgrave in the film Deep Impact, as well as the second instalment in the hit Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission Impossible 2. Scott also appeared opposite Kate Winslet in Michael Apted’s Enigma as well as the 2002 film Ripley’s Game, opposite Ray Winstone. In 2006 Dougray  appeared in US television for the first time in the ABC miniseries The Ten Commandments as well the Hallmark TV movie Arabian Nights. US television audiences next saw Scott in the NBC series Heist as well as the hit series Desperate Housewives. He followed these impressive turns with the BBC miniseries adaptation of the cult classic novel The Day of the Triffids .
He was also been seen in the critically-acclaimed movie My Week With Marilyn, the hit Netflix series Hemlock Grove, and the Cinemax series Strike Back. On this side of the Atlantic, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was great as well as another film was New Town Killers, set in Edinburgh, and in an episode of Dr Who with Matt Smith. He was also in the TV series, Snatch, based on the film of the same name.
During the last few years  playing  Colonel Jacob Kane in the series Batwoman. The series was cancelled after 3 seasons.  He has also appeared in La Cha Chis a dark comedy which also stars the excellent Rhys Ifans, it was written and filmed in South Wales in four weeks over the coronavirus lockdown.
At present you can find Dougray in the Irvine Welsh series Crime, where he platys troubled detective DI Ray Lennox. I’m really looking forward to the second installment, which will see the excellent English actor John Simm join the cast.
In the second season Ray is ready to return to the fray at Edinburgh Serious Crimes, keen to prove he is fully recovered from his breakdown, I’ll say no more in case you haven’t watched series one, please go do it! Dougray has one a Scottish Bafta for his portrayal and just this weekend in the 50th International Emmy Awards was also awarded Best Performance by an Actor.   Vigil, set in Scotland won the Best Drama Series
In a post on social media, Welsh congratulated the Hollywood star, who he claims “battled for years” to play the lead role in Crime.
Dougray will also be in the Sky series  A Town Called Malice about a  family of petty thieves from South London who decamp to Spain to profit from an unexpected windfall. I’m also looking forward to the film, Irena's Vow telling the true story of Polish nurse Irene Gut Opdyke, who was  awarded the Righteous Among the Nations medal for showing remarkable courage in her attempt to save Polish Jews during World War II. The film is based on the Broadway play of the same name. It is set to premiere next year.

Here we areeeeee.... this episode was quite interesting.
- This thing with Alice is getting more and more interesting. We could say she had a connection with the guy Ocean but now we know that turned into some kind of realtionship and i guess Safyia wasnt really happy about that. I would like to know why she wants him dead tho and why did she ereased their memories. Anyways... she had a really cure boyfriend lol.
- I totally understand Ryan not wonting to work with the Crows... they screwed up big time more than once and she knows... plus they really are kinda just a securety agency who will work for who has the most money lol. i bet if you pay them enough they will protect your shit without even knowing what is it. So not the most reliable. Plus the last Batwoman didnt really end up well with her deal with them.
- That Emoji Spider guy was cool. I liked him and he was a fun guy. i dont think we will see him again but i hope so.
- Ryan girlfrieeeeeeeend... she is still involved in shady stuff. I think they will discuss about that but this makes me think that maybe she really was in that place just to rob it?
- Ryan and her Kryptonite wound? Please... i wanna see how that ends... if she will be affected long term. like maybe even gaining something out of it? like some king of enanchement? Who knows...

Also I respect and feel for sophie so much.
I'm not approving of her choice to lie to her husband, to kate and to herself, but it's tough. She's from an homophobic family but still went above and beyond to provide for them and for herself. She could have hopped on that motorbike and you know kate and the Kane family would have provided for her for as long as she needed but she wanted to put in the work herself, have a career, take her chance. I CAN'T not respect her.
As much as I love Kate (and I absolutely ADORE HER) I wish for her to gain some perspective on Sophie's situation this season. She's rich and privileged (and YES, she went trough something HORRIBLE, privilege can't change that) But she has a loving father and a stepsister who clearly learned all the names of every possible sexual orientation just to be supportive!
Jacob is right, it's unfair that Sophie had to make that choice at all and in a better world her and Kate would have had a brilliant career while being happily together, but this isn't a fairytale, just like the real world isn't.
On the other hand, I'm proud of kate for recognizing that the situation is unfair for Tyler and for keeping her distance, he seems like a decent guy for what we know about him atm and I don't want kate to be involved in a cheating storyline (please, writers, please!)

Gifs don’t do this scene justice. Gifs will never do this scene justice. I understand the pain of not being wanted by the one person who is supposed to love you more than anyone else. I understand what it’s like to constantly try to live up to expectations that have been set, by me, to please a father who could care less about what I’ve done. It feels like that.

Kate Kane's updated and expanded in-universe Wikipedia page, or at least an idea of what it might look like. Most of this information is canon to the comics, and most of what isn't is paracanonical based on creator statements, textual inferences, outside research, and other indirect sources and methods.
Main text of the article:
Katherine Rebecca Kane (born March 21, 1990) is an American media personality, businesswoman, socialite, model, musician, and philanthropist. Kane is the great-great-granddaughter of Cameron Kane, an industrialist who participated in the modernization of Gotham City in the late 19th century.
She first gained national attention at the age of 12 when she (along with her mother and twin sister) was abducted in Brussels, Belgium and became the sole survivor of the rescue mission. She is also known for her controversial resignation from the United States Military Academy in 2010.
Early life
Kane, along with her identical twin sister Elizabeth, was born at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina on March 21, 1990, to Gabrielle (née Goldstein) and Jacob Kane, career soldiers in, respectively, the 525th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade and the 3rd Special Forces Group. Kate is the older twin by two minutes. She is first cousins to businessman and philanthropist Bruce Wayne and national collegiate tennis and boxing champion Bette Kane.
Kane has Jewish, Polish, German, Swedish, and Irish ancestry. Kane's parents met as West Point cadets, which later informed her own decision to attend the academy. She and her sister primarily grew up in Fort Bragg, where both parents were stationed, and were raised in the Reform Judaism denomination. The family would occasionally spend vacations at the Kane estate in Sommerset, New Jersey, a suburb of Gotham City. In elementary and middle school, Kane was involved in several fights against other children who bullied her sister, most of whom were older.
Kidnapping
In December 2001, the Kanes moved from Fort Bragg to Brussels, Belgium, as Jacob had been assigned to a NATO position.
On March 21, 2002, the twins' 12th birthday, Gabrielle and the twins were kidnapped by a cell from the Religion of Crime while traveling to the Grand Place for a birthday brunch. In the initial kidnapping, the Kanes' driver was killed. The subsequent investigation revealed that the Kanes had been under RoC surveillance for several months at the time of the kidnapping, almost since their arrival.
Gabrielle and the twins were kept in a house within the Watermael-Boitsfort suburb of Brussels. Less than 12 hours after the kidnapping, a squad of U.S. soldiers, personally led by Jacob Kane, conducted a rescue operation at the house. Gabrielle and Elizabeth were killed by the RoC during the rescue, but Kate was recovered unharmed. Gabrielle and Elizabeth's bodies were flown back to the United States within 24 hours of their deaths, accompanied by Kate and Jacob; they were laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
Education
In the aftermath of the kidnapping, Kane and her father moved to the Washington metropolitan area since Jacob Kane, now a colonel, had been appointed to the Department of Defense. Kate attended the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, graduating summa cum laude in 2007. While there, she participated in gymnastics, eventually making it into the Senior Elite program of USA Gymnastics.
In November 2006, Kane received a nomination to attend the United States Military Academy from New Jersey senator Bob Menendez. She enrolled at the academy in July 2007.
At West Point, Kane continued to excel, majoring in Law and Legal Studies and double minoring in Pashto and Terrorism Studies. She earned max scores during each of her Army Physical Fitness Test attempts, ran sub-3-minute times on the Indoor Obstacle Course Test, earned the Recondo badge, scored Expert on the M4 Carbine and M92 pistol, and completed Airborne School and Air Assault School, for which she was the distinguished graduate of the latter. While in Gotham City to attend a funeral during her sophomore year, Kane foiled a robbery during Hurricane Rene, earning her the Soldier's Medal. In summer 2010, Kane was named as the Brigade Executive Officer of the Corps of Cadets for the 2010-2011 academic year. Shortly afterward, and unusually for a cadet, Kane was sent on a short, undisclosed mission to Afghanistan for which she earned the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, indicating she participated in combat. She placed between the 95th and 99th percentile of her class during each of her years at the academy.
Kane was a member of the Black Knights women's soccer team, where she played center-forward. From her junior year until her resignation, she was also a member of the West Point women's boxing club, newly formed at the time. It was here she earned the nickname "Candy."
One of Kane's roommates at West Point was future U.S. Army colonel Sophie Moore, whom she defeated in an academy middleweight championship boxing match.
Resignation from West Point
In August 2010, Kane was anonymously accused of homosexual conduct under DADT. When confronted about the allegation, the academy administration offered Kane a chance to deny the allegations and accept a demotion, citing her exemplary record as a cadet. However, Kane instead confirmed she was a lesbian, and immediately resigned from the academy. In an interview with Time later that year, Kane mentioned that her resignation was partially to avoid a larger investigation that would have outed other LGBT cadets.
Kane received an honorable discharge on August 26, 2010, which was noted for the speed in which it was processed.
Aftermath
Throughout the remainder of 2010 and all of 2011, Kane sought out various forms of employment while completing her education at Gotham University. Most of these attempts were unsuccessful, and by the summer of 2011 Kane had started abusing alcohol; when the full repeal of DADT took effect in the fall of 2011, Kane was "too far gone" to consider re-applying to West Point, nor re-enlisting.
In 2015, Kane graduated from the FBI New Agent Training Program at the top of her class. However, less than a week after her graduation, before even being assigned to a field office, Kane was fired from the Bureau for possession of marijuana; the legal charges were later dismissed.
Career
Business
Kane serves as the chief compliance officer of Kane Industries, a position she has held since 2015.
Modeling
Kane has appeared as a model in various advertising campaigns. These have included Everlast, Bulgari, and Tom Ford.
Music
Kane learned to play the guitar after resigning from West Point, and occasionally performs around Gotham City, either solo or with local bands. She has been a guest musician for several bands that have performed in Gotham, including Black Canary, The Sisters of Mercy, and The Dusted Bunnies.
Philanthropic work
Since 2012, Kane has been a member and key donor of Knights Out, an LGBT alumni and advocacy group primarily made up of West Point graduates and former cadets. She is also a major donor to The Trevor Project.
Charity boxing
As of 2022, Kane has participated in nine boxing matches as part of various charity initiatives, beginning in 2016. She holds a 9-0 record, winning all but one fight by stoppage. Kane joked in a 2019 interview that she has not been invited to fight in recent events of that kind because she "broke too many noses."
Personal life
In addition to belonging to the Kane and Wayne families, Kate is the stepdaughter of Catherine Hamilton-Kane through marriage to her father.
Aside from English, Kane is fluent in Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Pashto, and is proficient in Yiddish.
Kane is a noted fan of spy fiction, with some of her favorite authors being Ian Fleming, Tom Clancy, and Greg Rucka.
Kane frequently attends the annual Army-Navy game and is a supporter of the Black Knights across all sports. In college basketball, she is also a fan of Duke University on account of head coach Mike Kryzewski's past as a USMA cadet.
Relationships
In 2012, Kane began a short relationship with fellow socialite Violet Paige, which ended with a brief fight in the parking lot of a Gotham motel.
Kane was in a short relationship with future Gotham City Police commissioner Renee Montoya when the latter was still a patrol officer; the pair rekindled this relationship in 2018.
Kane was in a relationship with Gotham City homicide detective Maggie Sawyer beginning in 2016. After a short engagement, the couple broke up for undisclosed reasons.
In 2016, Kane had a brief relationship with Natalie Mitternacht that ended, according to Kane, due to "abuse" on Mitternacht's part.
Legal issues
On June 29, 2013, Kane was arrested for a DUI in Gotham City. The prosecution was unable to prove its case, Kane was found not guilty in the subsequent trial.
Kane was cited for possession of marijuana in the fall of 2015. Though the legal charges were quickly dropped, this cost her a job at the FBI, from which she had recently finished training to become a Special Agent.

what was this going to be? hell if I know... Carol Danvers/Kate Kane (???!?)
It starts like this: with a big, bad monster the Batwoman has driven out of Gotham and followed straight to New York, the kind of big, bad that you can’t believe exists until you see it with your own two, and even then Carol rubs the heels of her hands into her eyes, just to make sure she isn’t in the middle of one gnarly hallucination. But it turns out big, bad monsters--even the ones you first heard about at camp, that made the hair on your arms stand on end, that kept you from sleeping until you were safe at home and in the comfort of your own bed--when they turn solid and real, can be hurt. Specifically, a good, hard punch in the nose can startle them.  A wallop followed by a photon blast can bring them to their knees.  A venom blast can rip from them screams the likes of which you’ve never heard before. And then there’s the follow-through from the Batwoman, who is only a woman, after all. A non-super who nevertheless fights like a demon, who is able to pulverize her opponent with what is only human force, and grit. And, sure, she’s had help, but there’s something extraordinary, and terrifying, about the way she moves.
Jessica pokes fun at the costume and the gadgets and the name, but on what planet does a Spiderwoman have room to talk?
“She’s impressive,” Carol tells her.
“She’s a bat,” Jess counters. “But she sure can fight.”
And so they give her room to finish what she started, to take down her monster and ship it back to the depths of Gotham, or Hell, or wherever it belongs.
When she thanks them for their help, she nods at Carol and says, “Colonel,” with the kind of deference that makes Carol wonder whether the Batwoman was once a soldier.  Anyway, she’s done her homework, which prompts Carol to do the same, and when she follows up with S.H.I.E.L.D., she gets a glimpse at the Batwoman’s D.E.O. dossier and discovers the woman behind the mask, one Katherine Kane. Kate Kane. Expelled from West Point for violating DADT. Daughter of Colonel Jacob Kane. Socialite. Batwoman.
A soldier who couldn’t serve; a rich girl who didn’t have to work a day in her life dedicating her mind and her body in pursuit of fools and madmen. No guts, no glory--except this was a woman putting her life on the line for the gratitude of no one.

Here we are with the new Batwoma... i am so excited. Now Sophy faced Ryan and told her she knows she is Batwoman... and maybe Ryan will start to see Sophy for who she is and not only judging her for their shared past.
Alice was so funny in this episode... well as always. Anyways... she recognized Kate and that will be very interesting. I wanna know what she will do. Will she try to make Kate remember who she is?? What she will do?
And that ending with Jacob? I mean... he screws up on a regular basis but i hope they will be able to save him. Like... i dont want him to die... i want him to understand he is an idiot XD. Oh and that call with Alice?! LOL poor Alice... called in the worst moment ever
