ANGELS WEPT.
Tumblr media
warnings: tlou2 ellie williams x fem/gen! reader. reader dies instead of joel! no use of ‘y/n’. hurt with basically no comfort. lmk if i forgot anything!!
may also be good for this ask : i live for angst so can you please write an ellie x fem!reader and make it as angsty as possible like no comfort 😇🙏🙏 -anon
this was originally just a guilty pleasure drabble so i’ll still do another for that ask specifically.
even though i’m ridiculously proud of this, i’m very very sorry for the emotional turmoil you’re going to experience. should i do a part 2 for this?
part 1.5 , part 2 , part 2.5
“baby please get up!” ellie’s voice vibrated around the room as she sobbed, looking for any sign you were gonna move. her body resisting and thrashing under the people restraining her.
her eyes flip from the two people talking over your body and your bloody swollen face. you were still so pretty to her, even in your current state.
“i’m gonna fucking k-kill all of you.” she fights against the people holding her down. her feet kicking against the floor but the people restricting her don’t budge.
“she doesn’t deserve this. please.” ellie begs, sobs becoming more prominent as the girl, the one seemingly leading the abuse, lifts up the golf club again. “s-she’s 18!! and she still cries when she sees clickers. i promise you have the wrong person.”
“baby fuckin’- get up!” she directs her yelling back to you once she sees the girl hesitate with the metal above her head. she tries her best to get from the ground, to come save you.
when the club came down once more, the scream that left ellie was gut-wrenching. the people around her flinched, birds flew from miles around, angels wept.
the girl comes and stands over her now, “tell joel he’s fucking next.” she mutters before turning around, her dirty blonde braid moving with her. that was the last thing she heard apart from her shaky sobs before everything went dark.
——————
when she awakes again, she’s surrounded by silence. it’s almost peaceful and she doesn’t remember what happened until her eyes lock on your still figure.
“no- no no no.” she scrambles toward you, wincing when there’s a particularly strong thump in her skull.
“baby? you’re okay,” she gently pulls you into her arms, not even bothering to check your pulse out of fear that it may not be there. “i’m so sorry, so so sorry.”
she gives herself a second to let the tears temporarily tattoo their trails on her flushed cheeks before standing and hustling you up into her arms. her heart cracks even more when she doesn’t feel your body twitch, or curl into her like it does when she’s carrying you to bed after a long day.
it takes her a few minutes to get you up and onto shimmer but when she gets you both up there, she does her best to wrap your limp arms around her. kissing your bloody forehead before whipping the reins with a certain determination.
——————
“fucking- open them!!” ellie yells as she comes up on the gates, her voice trembling and weak.
once the gates open, she rides shimmer into town before dropping down off of her, still holding you bridal style in her arms. “help me!!”
her voice is full of agony, heartbreak. at first it’s a few people peeping out of windows, then eventually coming out into the street. joel steps out a second later, recognizing the broken sound of ellie’s voice and assuming the worst.
at the sight of her father figure she immediately bursts into tears, dropping to her knees.“joel- they- i can’t-“
she hyperventilates as she holds your body close to her chest. the cold snow making the knees of her denim jeans damp. “she needs help, they-“
ellie’s sobs consume her completely, ears drowning in white noise. she doesn’t notice the group surrounding her until maria places a hand on her shoulder.
“we have to see if- if she’s alive el.” she says gently. ellie hesitates before gently laying you on the snow-covered ground, she’s never prayed before but as the medics fingers come up to your neck she prays to every single god she’s ever heard of.
she prays for your heart to still beat, for your recovery, for her girl to still be with her. the medic shakes their head softly after a few seconds, a solemn expression on their face.
ellie’s once shallow sniffles turn into screams of denial, to rapid breaths, to using her shaking hands to pull you back into her arms.
“this isn’t real. this isn’t real. you’re- you’re fucking wrong!” she screams in the medics general direction. not noticing how people start to disperse once the seriousness of the situation is realized.
“my girl, my sweet girl…” she whispers against your temple. they say that when you die your life flashes before your eyes. but her heart is still a steady thump when her life comes whirling around her in gentle smiles, belly laughs, and light-hearted teasing.
she thinks about how you’d greet her with tired smiles after a long day of patrol. she thinks of how it felt to wrap her arms around you from behind as you made a meal. she thinks of your bright eyes, your timid smiles that were reserved only for her.
she thinks of how she’ll never be able to experience it again. how she never gets to hear you call her ‘els’ or ‘my love’ anymore. how she will never experience a love like this one ever again in her life.
“the main girl said ‘tell joel he’s fucking next.’” she’s quiet for a few seconds after releasing this information until she looks up at him with a menacing glare.
“i don’t know what the fuck you did- or who the fuck you killed. but i lost my- my future wife over it. fucking fix it joel.”

Can we not? | osamu miya x gn!reader
| reader comes home to osamu in bed with another, what’s his first reaction? “you bet not touch her”
| tw: cheating, angst, hurt, suggestive, alcohol, happy ending?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ever since you came back from visiting family, osamu seemed a bit.. off. sure he wasn’t the most affectionate person in the world but he never dodged it before or declined sex. besides him acting weird, life just wasn’t at its tip top for you right now. your friends noticed that. so to get you out of the house they all proposed a night out, bar hopping.
you couldn’t really bring yourself to drink. the most you ingested that night was a stale beer. the whole night you had a pit at the bottom of your stomach. something was wrong, yet you couldn’t quite pin point it. after declining you dont know how many offers to dance; you decided to go home.
you told osamu you’d be back around 12am. sure he won’t mind you coming home a little early — if he was even woke that was.
you make it back to your apartment complex and quietly shuffle your key into the hole. you walk in and remove your shoes. the house is all but quiet - you hear a woman’s loud whiny voice and assume it’s some show osamu is watching.
you go to the kitchen and quietly make your self a glass of water, barely feeling a buzz from the drink you had. you hear a loud bang coming from the master bedroom and it startles you.
it’s continuous. followed by several loud ‘thwaps’ you start to get a bit nervous, the burning in your chest getting stronger.
you tiptoe down the hall to the shut bedroom door. you take a deep breath and crack the door open. your heart sinks. either osamu found a new position to jerk off in or-
“osamu?” you utter, your voice cracking. osamu jumped up from his current position. “oh fuck-” his eyes are wide and his mouth even wider. you don’t even notice you’re crying til you feel tears drip from your chin.
“y/n, i thought you said you weren’t coming til twelve- i- fuck i um,” he’s babbling on excuses and you can’t even hear him. you look past him and see her. laying in your bed. under your covers.. naked. is she wearing your head scarf? and she’s looking bewildered as if she’s the victim.
wait, you know her. she’s osamu’s new employee. you see her everytime you go to your boyfriends’ onigiri shop. grabbing lunch and leaving with a kiss. she- she knew about me. she..
“y/n, are you listening to me?” he asks grabbing you by your shoulders and shaking you. he must’ve slipped on his underwear while you were in your head. underwear you bought him.
“GET YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF OF ME,” you sob, jerking his hands off of you. he backs up, looking almost shocked. “YOU-
your knees buckle almost causing you almost drop to the floor. you catch yourself and lean against the wall - hyperventilating. is he serious? after all these years? high school sweethearts for what? all those firsts for what? for him to go off and fuck the first thing he found appetizing. what did she have that you didn’t? was the sex better? was the connection sweeter?
“you fucking-,” you leap towards her. she seemed so innocent, helping make your lunch. smiling with you, hugged you once even. had she no shame? osamu jumps infront of you; blocking her.
“don’t you fucking touch her!” he yells.
your vision is complete blurred by tears now. was he really protecting her? from you? you jump back out of his grip. your chest hurts bad. you feel like you could die from a broken heart right now.
“osamu are- y- you serious?” you ask, pulling yourself together. he stares at you, was that pity in his eyes? you sniffle and take their silence as an answer.
“im.. gonna go..” you say, lips quivering. it barely comes out as a whimper. he hears it though. you didn’t even notice you were digging your fingernails into your palms til you stopped.
making the pain more prominent.
yet the physical pain you felt right now was in nowhere comparable to the emotional pain you felt.

hello! I absolutely love your writing so I thought I'll drop a request of my own. What if Azriel's mate, the reader is going through a depressive episode and needs Azriel to help her through it, but Az has a super important mission that he HAS to go on?
Hopefully with a fluffy happy ending though 🥺
Please Don’t Go
Azriel x reader
A/n: thank you anon! Fluffy ending for sure on this one
Warnings: mental health struggles, depression, anxiety, fluffy ending I swear
You cling to Azriel as he tries to pick up his over night bag. He rubbed your back as you cried into his chest begging him not to go. An awful depressive episode hit you this week. You thought you’d have Azriel with you the whole time but something came up and Rhys was now sending him to the Winter Court.
As he made to let go you gripped him tighter begging harder. “Azriel please, please I need you with me.” Azriel took in a shaky breath, swallowing back his own tears. “Y/n I need you to look at me, baby.” You shake your head against him.
Azriel drops his head on top of yours. “Baby I have to go. But I’m going to try and be as quick as I can ok. Just one night? Can you do that for me?”
You step back from him, wiping your eyes. Cupping your cheek he asks, “Do you want to stay at the House with Nesta?” You nod. If you can’t be with Az Nesta is always good company. Not many see it, but she cares about the people close to her.
Azriel shoulders his bag then scoops you up in his arms to fly you to the house. Landing on the balcony you see Nesta waiting for you. Azriel sets you down and she opens her arms to you. You run and cling to Nesta now that she’s your person.
Nesta hugs you tight, looking to Azriel, “She’ll be ok here.” He nods, a shadow leaving him to sink to the floor next to you. To stay with you, protect you. Azriel kisses the back of your head whispering, “I’ll be back. Hold on y/n, I know you can.”
Then he was off. You broke down in Nesta’s arms. She took you to Azriel’s room, tucking you under the covers that still smell like Azriel. “Do you want to eat something?” “Yeah,” you sniffle out. You hear Nesta ask the house for soup and water.
Truthfully, you hadn’t been listening since Azriel said goodbye. You always get anxious when he went away. It didn’t matter that he was a seasoned warrior and spy, you always worried for his safety. Worried that he wouldn’t come back.
The day passed quickly turning into night and Azriel still was t back. An hour ago Nesta left to ask Rhys for an update on Azriel’s arrival. As tears stream down your face you stare out the glass balcony doors up at the sky. The moon bright but not quite full yet, the star’s twinkling as bright as ever. The night sky is the greatest gift in this court. It’s beauty distracting you from your current thoughts.
The door opens and shuts and Nesta strides over to the bed. She sits by your legs, laying a gentle hand on your calf. You look at her with hope in your eyes. Nesta shook her head, “He’s not coming back tonight. I’m so sorry honey.”
You drop your head letting out a wail. You hug his pillow to your body continuing to sob. Nesta held you as you started hyperventilating. “I can’t do this anymore Nesta.” She shushes you rubbing your back. “Yes you can, y/n. You’re one of the strongest Valkyries I’ve trained.”
You continue to breathe sporadically until Nesta pulled you to her chest. “Y/n you’re scaring me. You need to breathe.” She brings your hand to her chest to feel her calm heartbeat. Nesta smoothes out your hair and you feel yourself calm down a little. After what feels like hours you start to calm down.
Your eyes start to get heavy with sleep. You relax against Nesta and let your eyes close, hoping Azriel will be with you in the morning.
Through your morning grogginess you heard Azriel’s sweet voice, felt his hand rub your back in calming circles. “Morning baby. I’m so sorry I’m late, can you forgive me.” With all your remaining strength you launch yourself at Azriel, wrapping your arms around him. “Thank the Mother! I was so worried about you.”
Azriel hugged you back squeezing you to his chest and kissing the side of your head. “I’m here baby. I’m going to take care of you, I promise. I’m not leaving again for a long time.” You breathe out a deep sigh of relief. “Thank you Az.”

Based off an idea @demonicpansexual came up with
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
(Name) laid on the couch grumpy, he was craving snacks but all the snacks in the house were usually the ones Mikey enjoyed ((name) did too before the pregnancy) but now that he was VERY pregnant, all the foods made him nauseous.
"Jiro... Please don't eat that by me" (name) mumbled already feeling queasy at the smell of Mikey's parfait and the Alpha looked annoyed before standing and just before he got an ear shot (name) heard him mumble the last dumbest shit he could ever utter.
"Can't stand the smell of good food...is that even my kid?"
And like that (name)s fairly calm and content scent turned the foulest Mikey bad ever smelt it "what did you say?" (Name) mumbled to Mikey who though realized he fucked up, couldn't keep his foot out of his mouth as he continued "it doesn't like Taiyaki or anything!"
"You did not just refer to our PUP AS AN IT! HOW DARE YOU SAY THIS SHIT!" (Name) roared out as he shakily stood up "to even consider that!"
Mikey watched as (name) began crying but when he stepped closer (name) stepped back.
(Name) hid in the main bathroom for three hours before bedtime, staring at Mikey who lay on the bed almost expectantly at his mate.
Only to look shocked when his Omega turned around and stomped off to the guest room, the sound of the door locking could be heard.
(Name) sighed as he did the laundry the next morning, sorting the clothes to put in the washing machine when he smelt something.... off about Mikey's clothes.
It smelt like an Omega.
But not him.
(Name) proceeded to sniff nearly two weeks of Mikey's clothes (he's behind on laundry, sue him) and began hyperventilating when more than half smelt of this Omega.
Mikeys cheating on him?
Did he even want the pup?
Is that why he tried saying it wasn't his? For an out?
(Name) slipped on his shoes and left the penthouse, the guards not sure if they should stop him as he left without any jacket teary eyed and clearly distressed.
Draken was surprised to see his brother, well not really as his brother visits often but surprised to see him shaking and crying.
(Name) was hyperventilating when he finished telling Draken everything and the Alpha was ready to throttle Mikey, his brother devoted everything to him since they were young teens and this is what he does?
Draken thinks he may have to clean the storage room out.
"Ken..." (Name) mumbled, looking down to see a wet spot on the floor "no no! It's too early!" (Name) practically screamed and Draken was already calling the paramedics while comforting his brother.
Mikey came home to an empty house.
He looked high and low before demanding a guard tell him where he went "and you just LET HIM!"
Mikey unloaded half a clip onto him before gripping his hair stressed "my pregnant mate is out there with my pup! FIND HIM!"
his pup.
Mikey halted as a lump in his throat began forming, he really did that to (name)? Accused him of cheating when Mikey had let an Omegan whore get close to him at one of Bontens's many clubs.
God he was the worst.
Bzzzt
Bzzzt
"Speak"
"Hi, is this Manjiro Sano?" A voice spoke out and Mikey was suspicious "why do you ask?"
"This number is on the emergency contact sheet for (name) Sano, he is currently in labor"
Mikey hung up the phone as he bolted out.
Draken stood as Mikey stormed in, the shorter man looking frantic and hissed when Draken got in his way "do you really think he wants to see you?! You fucking sack of shit!"
Security pushed them apart with the threat of being removed from the hospital and Draken glared "I would be amazed if he wanted to see you after this"
It took four hours but (sons name) was born, (name) being moved to a room with the incubator so he could feed him better.
Mikey came into the room as (name) slept to see his squirmy son who had pitch black eyes like himself.
Despite being premature the baby looked identical to him.
This was his son.
Mikey slept beside (name) the entire night as he recovered, holding his hand gently.
(Name) woke hours later and just stared at Mikey with rage, slightly pulling his hand away and waking Mikey "baby--"
"Don't"
"Please I'm so fucking sorry"
"You fucking hurt me Mikey"
No jiro or even Manjiro.
Just Mikey.
That was basically calling him by his formal name.
"Please... Let me make this right"
"I will give you this chance but I'm staying at my brother's with our son"

Your the reason.
Summary:Your bestfriend just so happened to be visiting at your house while your parents started to argue out of nowhere.
Warnings:Yelling and reader has a panic attack
Tumblr media
You sat on the soft mattress of your bed, shoulders slightly slumped while you fiddled with your thumbs, staring down at the carpet floor of your bedroom. You felt bad, yet embarrassed.
Your parents were currently arguing downstairs, yelling at each other and throwing stuff around.
“Well what?! How can you not fucking remember?!” Your mother yelled angrily. “REMEMBER WHAT?!” Your father shouted with such venom, Hitting the side of his fist against the wall of the living room as it echoed throughout the house, making you shake.
Leon was sitting on the edge of the bed like you were, right beside you. He noticed the discomfort you were clearly showing while his head was slightly turned towards you, Sitting in the heated silence. Finally, Leon decided to get up, quietly walking over to your bedroom door that was in front of you two as he slowly closed it. With that, The yelling sounded faint.
The blonde haired boy then turned around, only to see that you were now cupping your face with both hands, quietly sobbing into them. His gaze softened with such sadness and hurt to see you in such a weak state, a state that was often caused by the arguing of your parents. You were overly exhausted and felt like a burden to your parents, just the thought of that caused you to start hyperventilating, weakly putting yours hands into your knees while slightly bending over. The hurt in your heart was unbearable and your mind felt hazy with how much you were shaking from the anxiety caused by the yelling and by second, your heartbeat increased intensely causing you to have shortness of breath.
This was the first time Leon seen you like this but he didn’t waste any time to sprint over to you, quickly dropping to his knees as soon as he stood in front of your sulking presence. You only tried to hide your face from him but he gently cupped your wet cheeks with the palms of his hands, forcing you to look at his pitiful eyes. “Hey, Hey, Hey. Look at me, It’s alright.” He says calmly but somehow you could still hear the panic in his voice, only because he was awfully worried for you. You scanned his face through your blurry eyes which was caused by the tears and panic, Finally meeting his eyes, slightly breaking through the hazy feeling. “Breath Y/N, Breath. It’s alright, I’m here, I got you, I got you.” Leon repeated, Caressing his calloused thumbs against your red tear stained cheeks.
You nodded your head, Building up the forced courage to stop breathing through your nose which was a bit hard. You couldn’t seem to open your mouth but that came to an end when Leon drew your attention back to his, making you stare into his eyes once again. “It’s okay, It’s okay. I’ve got you, Just breath, You can do it.” He says with a bit of panic, Nodding his head slowly. Suddenly, You felt your hearing coming back after everything sounded faint. “Yeah there we go, Your doing good. Just keep breathing, just like that.” Leon says, assuring to you that your getting better with the most soothing voice. “I-i’m sorry-I didn’t-You shouldn’t have to hear them like that, i just-i just panicked, i’m so sorry, i-i really am” You stuttered with a panicked voice while he still held your rosy cheeks, not bothering to stop caressing your cheeks with his thumbs.
He shook his head, furrowing his eyebrows with puppy eyes. “No, No, don’t apologize, You shouldn’t have to. It wasn’t and isn’t your fault, Don’t apologize.” He reassured, Trying to keep your gaze on him and him only. “C’mon pretty girl, I’ve got you, i’m here, Just lay down. It’s alright, It’s alright.” He says under his breath softly and the nickname he had just given you made your heart flutter with an instant, Almost pulling you out of the weak panicked state. With one last deep breath, you nodded your head with a quick sob as you laid down, Turning around to your side while Leon pulled the soft blanket over you.
“Your okay….Your okay…” Leon quietly cooed, Walking around the bed to hop into the sheets with you. He watched your eyes with a soft gaze, laying on his side as well. “Thank…Thank you.” You finally let out, Feeling comforted by him, a feeling you’ve yearned for this whole time. Your parents were still unfortunately arguing tho, making the hair on your body stand up while you squeezed your eyes shut. “Shh, Don’t listen to them.” He told you, putting his hand onto the side of your face, Gently putting a strand of hair behind your ear.
“Here, c’mere.” Leon says, Getting closer to you as he wrapped his arms around you, positioning you so that your head could lay flat onto his chest. His arm snaked around your neck gently, Letting his hand sit onto the back of your head. Leon’s other hand was just hugging around you, Rubbing your back. “Is this okay?” He asked, Making sure that you don’t feel uncomfortable.
Right after he asked that one particular question, you quickly nodded your head. “Yes…” You confess while your hand rested against his shoulder blade.
The two of just stayed like this, enjoying one another’s presence, never wanting to let go. The body heat was radiating from his body, creating a feeling you’ve never felt before…True comfort. Your ear was pressed against his chest, Falling asleep to the sound of his heartbeat. After a while, Leon had fallen asleep as well, Keeping you close to him.

ADHD
Note: NO Y/N This is just a cute little fluff moment between the Sturniolo brothers and I am not sexualizing this in any way. they are freaking brothers enjoy!
Warnings: overstimulation, panic attack, etc.
Summary: Chris has ADHD and this goes downhill, but his brothers are there to help him.
Nick's POV
My brother Chris has always been very affectionate. He always loves to be around people and today was no different.
We woke up early, Chris slept in my bed last night, and went downstairs. We watched a show and he sat quietly holding my hand for about half the movie, and then he started to get fidgety. Chris started to play with my fingers and move his feet around, not even paying attention to the show.
"Chris, are you all done watching TV?" I asked him, grabbing his hands to get his attention focused on me. He looked at me, only just realizing that he had not been paying attention.
He looked down embarrassed.
"Hey, that's ok. Do you wanna go help me make some breakfast?" I asked him, rubbing my thumb over his hand, back and forth.
-
It took Chris around 30 minutes to complete his breakfast. Mainly because he would explain the different shapes of his toast after he took a single bite. Me and Matt, who woke up to the smell of breakfast, just laughed along with him, letting him take his time.
After breakfast, I did the dishes while Chris lay on the couch, snugged up close to Matt with a blanket, and scrolled on his phone.
So like I said before, my brother is very affectionate, loving, and calm even with his ADHD disorder.
only tonight was different. we went out to dinner and Chris did not like it at all.
Chris's POV
The restaurant was loud. too loud. Many adults were sipping at their drinks, yelling and cackling over each other. There were also children, screaming at their parents who were not paying attention.
Our waiter showed us to our table and brought us our menus. He also brought one of those kiddie menus that come with the three-pack of crayons. The menus with puzzles, coloring, and tic-tac-toe boards.
Trying to get my mind off the noise, I began to color the paper using the cheap crayons from the packaging.
Then all of a sudden, I felt it.
The crayon felt gross, almost sticky, and grainy in my hand. My clothes felt too close to my body, scratching me. suffocating me. And the noise. the horrible, torturing noise, that just kept getting louder and louder, surrounding me. drowning me.
My breathing became shallow, and I was suddenly drenched in a cold sweat. My mind started racing, not being able to process all of these new things at once.
Sensing my unease, Nick grabbed my clammy hand under the table, giving me a look of worry.
I instantly shoved his hand away, wiping my own on my pants, hating the feeling of the rough fabric of my jeans.
Get out. I have to get out.
"Hey Chris, what are you gonna get to eat bud?" Matt asked, not noticing my current state of hyperventilation.
"I u-um...u-hhh..." I studdered out, my brain not even working enough to form words.
Then I Bolted.
Matt's POV
I asked Chris what he wanted to eat, and he ran. Snatching up my keys from off the table on his way out.
"What the fuck-" I start to say, but Nick was quickly rising from the table to go find Chris, and I was right behind him.
We checked the bathrooms, and corner of the restaurant, just to make sure he actually went to the car, and he was nowhere to be seen. So we made our way to the parking lot, sprinting out of the place and down the road.
Chris's POV
I ran, ran, to the car, and somehow managed to get it unlocked. I tried to climb into the front seat, but the cold, sticky leathery seats were too much. I popped the trunk, climbed in, then closed me in. I was squatting so I didn't have to touch the car carpet floor.
my hands were clawing at my head, my eyes, my ears. Trying anything to get this horrible feeling to go away.
I ended up banging my head against the car walls.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Again! Again! Again!
Go. A. Way!
Then, all of a sudden, the trunk was being opened.
Nick's POV
Matt and I reached the car, making a horrible banging noise from the inside. We quickly ruled out that Chris was in the trunk, and opened the door.
Matt's immediate reaction is to hold his brother. soothe him. But Chris falls back onto his back and kicks at Matt, hands clawing at his face.
"NO!" He lets out in a sharp panicked breath. Tears were streaming down his face, and his eyes were red, puffy, and swollen.
Then I get an idea.
"Matt, go get the water bottle from the front seat and pour it on his hands while I grab his face," I order, beginning to panic myself. Matt is quick to complete his task.
The cold water on Chris's hands causes him to cringe and go still allowing me to hold both sides of his face and turn it to look at mine. He falters for a moment, his breathing uneven and harp.
"Shh, you alright. It's me, it's Nicky, okay? It's okay, your safe I promise." I whisper in his ear. With trembling hands, he reaches up and holds mine. Shaking.
"Chris, can I hold you?" I ask, not wanting to overstimulate even more after we just got him to calm down.
He looks into my eyes and studies me for a moment, then timidly nods his head. I slowly climb next to him in the back of the car, and he lays his head on my shoulder, hiding his red and tear-stained face in the crook of my neck. While he gets his breathing back to normal, I gently play with his hair, while Matt climbs in and rubs small circles around his back.
"You ready to go home?" I ask him once his breathing is somewhat back to normal.
Chris gives me a small nod, and Matt goes and starts the car. I help Chris in the backseat with me, where he almost immediately falls asleep from exhaustion.
-
when we get home, we don't even bother going up the stairs. We walk straight into Chris's room and lay him down. matt and I change quickly into a hoodie and lay on either side of our little brother, sleeping with him, in case he ever needs us.
We will always be there.
Note: I hope y'all liked it. I can do more of these stories w/o y/n if y'all like them, but I'm still down for whatever.
I also have the Sturniolo little sis fic coming tomorrow!

87 from 101 ways to say I love you.
Pope helping Fem!reader through a panic attack
the one where pope comforts you
a/n: i love that prompt list, thank you for requesting!!
warnings: anxiety, panic attack
prompt: "Don't be scared. I'm right here."
my masterlist
Tumblr media
you’ve been sitting on the floor of your room for the past thirty minutes, hugging your knees against your chest and rocking yourself back and forth as you try to calm down but nothing seems to work.
tears keep streaming down your face, hidden between your legs, as you feel you can barely breathe anymore and you’re starting to panic even more at the thought that you might pass out.
you thought that college was supposed to be easier than highschool but when you found out that you had so many exams, one after the other, you started to hyperventilate, you can’t do it, you don’t have enough time. and then a million fears started hitting you which led you to your current position.
“i can’t do this, i can’t do this,” those are the only words coming out of your mouth, whispers, as that sense of impending doom never leaves you.
“y/n, baby, look at me.”
you don’t know when or how, but when you finally hear the voice of your sweet boyfriend you lift your head.
“can i touch you? talk to me, please.”
you nod and he instantly wraps his arms around you, holding you close to him.
“i can’t do this,” you manage to say louder this time.
“don’t be scared, baby, i got you. i’m right here.”
he cradles your head in his hands and he almost starts crying at the sight of your beautiful face completely drenched in your tears.
“breathe with me, baby. in and out, here,” he takes your hand and places it on his heart, “can you feel my pulse? calm and steady, try it with me.”
you follow the movement of his chest and start to breathe when he does, mimicking his actions.
once you’ve finally calmed down, pope takes you in his arms bridal style and brings you to your bed, laying you gently on it. he runs his fingers through your hair and you can feel yourself relax at his loving touch.
“you want to talk about it? we don’t have to if you don’t,” he coos.
“‘m tired. i have too much work to do, too little time i-“
you’re about to spiral again when he stops you.
“hey, hey. listen, whatever it is, i’ll help you. if this is about studying, i’m here. we can study together and we’ll ace our exams, i promise you. i won’t leave you alone, baby. we’re in this together.”
he holds you against him again and you know you’re going to be okay.

I have a request! Today my mom found out she was pregnant with her 5th child. We can afford another child in the house and she scared how her husband (who’s very toxic) will react. I’m also scared for our future, the baby and my mom. So can you write for Mattheo riddle x reader. The readers mom send her an owl at breakfast with a positive test picture attached to the letter. And the letter was saying how she’s pregnant and she doesn’t know what to do and they can’t afford the baby and that Reader is the only one who knows. And Reader gets upset because she scared for her mom and baby sibling so she locks herself in her dorm and locks the door while she walks around, cries and lays on her bed (also while crying) and having a breakdown and she doesn’t eat or drink anything because she too anxious for her family and the future for them and Mattheo (her bf) Notices and goes to her dorm and unlocks her room and comforts her while she lays on his shoulder crying and panicking while he sits with her on his lap rubbing a comforting hand up and down her back and just listening. And she ends up falling asleep cuddling into Mattheo
Another addition to the family - Mattheo Riddle
Summary - Y/n is sent into a panic attack after receiving a letter from her mother that she is yet again pregnant.
Mentions / Warnings - Fem!Reader, Slytherin!Reader, Draco lowkey being a brat, mentions of toxic family and abuse!!!
A/n - First off I am so sorry that you’re in that kind of situation <3 I truly hope that everything gets better for you and your family :( I unfortunately know what it’s like to be in an abusive home
Requested - Yes
POV - 3rd
Word Count - 626 (I apologize if this is too short but I just woke up and am still tired 🥲)
You’re currently sitting in the grand hall eating breakfast with your friends when the mail finally arrives. The slytherin girl drops her fork onto her plate when a letter drops down in front of her.
Her hands quickly reach out and pluck up the envelope, tearing it open curious as to what it could be. Draco Malfoy had also received something in the mail and was making a fuss over something his father said.
Thankfully everyone at the table was paying attention to him as she read the letter. The letter was in depth about how her mother is pregnant again. There was even a picture of two positive pregnancy tests attached to the card.
She began to get tense as she read on, her Mom can’t afford to take care of another child. Especially when she already has quite a few others. And then comes the problem of her Father.
He was abusive and toxic. And you already knew how your father was.
She was scared for her family. For the life of her newest sibling and all the others. And most importantly for her Mom’s safety.
She stood up abruptly which Draco noticed.
“Leaving are we? I was just getting to the good part!” Malfoy rolls his eyes in a complaint. Y/n brushed it off and swiftly walked out of the room. Trying to hide the tears that are currently swelling up.
As she was out of sight, she began to hyperventilate and run towards her dorm. She could hear footsteps behind her but didn’t bother to turn around and check who.
Once at her door, she threw it open and let herself in. The tears that were once withheld finally fell. The tears staining her cheeks and the floor as they dropped. For a moment she paced around her room before getting into her bed. Her cries filled the room as hysteria consumed her. She was beginning to spiral when her door unlocked and opened.
She looked up with blurry vision, too much water in her view as she heard her boyfriend’s voice.
“What’s wrong Darling?” His eyebrows were knitted with concern as he neared the bed. He grabbed your hands as he sat down in front of you.
“I- she- my mom is- she’s-“ Y/n was tumbling over her words to find the right thing to say.
“Hey- hey. Calm down…” He pulls you out of the spiral but you can’t stop the worrying.
Instead of talking you just lean forward and into him. He immediately wraps his arms around you. And the tears are sinking into the clothing over his shoulder.
Y/n moves closer to him, now straddling his lap as the curly haired boy rubs a comforting hand on her back. Her breathing slowly begins to stabilize. She can finally breathe enough to talk about the pain.
And that’s just what she did. She ranted about how worried she is for her family and how much she hates her father for what he’s doing. And Mattheo just listened. Comforting her with nothing but his actions and ears.
She felt tired as her rant came to a close. She was too tired to continue to worry, especially when she was in the arms of her loving boyfriend.
Her eyes fell shut and after a couple minutes she was fully asleep. Mattheo let her stay like that, he even tightened his grip on her. Wanting to make sure that even in her sleep she knew that she was safe.
Over the next couple of days Y/n hadn’t eaten or hydrated enough. Mattheo took notice and made sure to come over after classes with food and large amounts of water.
If you couldn’t take care of yourself, he would.

🅲🆁🅴🅴🅿🆈🅿🅰🆂🆃🅰 Story??(Eyeless Jack)
DISCLAIMERS!!!:
All head-canons well be represented in my writing (Unless paid to do otherwise)
I am very new to writing on tumblr
There will be generally dark themes/mature language in my work
I may be willing to do NSFW writing (Warning: I do not have any experience whatsoever) Before you ask, yes I am of age, I’m just a loser
(You are exploring abandoned buildings for your youtube series ;also, I’m listening to house of 1000 corpses by Rob Zombie, if that adds to the experience)  Also what he looks like in my head-cannons (Without mask and very quick 12 am doodle)⬇
Tumblr media
Click! The green light on your camera begins to blink, signaling that you are filming. You shuffle around in the leaves to get in view, zip up your coat and gently wave at the camera.
“Hey guys! I know it’s been awhile since I last filmed but there have been quite a few brutal animal attacks in the area …. And I wanted to wait till that died down before I came all this way.”
“So getting off that topic, Hey everyone! I’m currently about two miles away from the main road exploring this beautiful house built in 1924! Abandoned in 1994 for unknown reasons… maybe we will find it when we head in?”
You make your way to the decaying front porch, camera now in hand. The exterior is in relatively good condition for being abandoned for 30 years. The only flaws being the sad porch, a lack of front door, paint peeling and a cracked widow on the second story.
“Alright enough stalling, I’m heading in!”
You carefully make your way on the porch making sure there is minimal falling through . Making your way in the house, noticing the door was not missing but simply was on the floor. The area was oddly quiet, but you did not think much of it due to the video.
“Oh! There's the- God, it stinks… uh, god, wow, well, I guess something gone and died in here… I don’t think I want to do this anymore”
You recall the 12 cases of horrid mawlings, the questionable photos. Mixing with the smell, you could die at this point. Leaning towards the wall, gagging on the stench of rotten flesh. Till you hear something on the second floor.  You for some reason must be the dumb girl in the slashers and investigate for the video of course. You stand back up straight, covering your nose and make your way through the debris.
“Ya’ll better be glad I love you all.”
You step over all the gunk that is carelessly decorating the floor.
“God, I hate this”
Luckly or unluckly the stairs were straight from the door. The stairs seemed to squeal at every movement.
“I hope this doesn’t kill me”
The closer you got to the top the more ghastly the smell got. The higher you went the more apparent that the house was indeed furnished with blackened blood. The noises ceased.
At the top there is a short hallway that seems to lead to two small bedrooms. The blood trail leading to the one on the left.
  “I really hope it’s a racoon or something…”
You managed to quietly make your way to the door and peek through the door.
“ Oh my god, what the actual-” You mumble.
Through the crack of the door you seem to see a man. He was in all black, facing away from you hunkered over a decaying deer corpse.
  You begin to hyperventilate.
“Oh god, oh fuck, oh god, what the fuck.” You begin to whispershout.
He stands up and grabs what seems to be a blue mask.
   “HOLY SHIT!”
You drop your camera. Stand in shock then frantically try to run.
“God, Fuck, Why do I do stupid shit for 114 subscribers?”
He manages to grab you, causing you to fall down the stairs. Then proceeds to drag you up the stairs to the room with deer.
Panting as you lie there on the floor, fearing. Him standing over you, motionless and silent.
“Please, please”
You begin to cry. You are sure this is the end, laying on the floor with a masked man hovering over you covered in rotten deer.
“ Please, I’ll never come back, I swear, please”
(I realize now that this will need a part 2, So comment if your interested)

Hi, can you please write a timo meier imagine about incident where timo broke his nose? Reader lives in San Jose and is a Sharks fan and is watching the game when it happens and timo knows she is watching when he is down on the ice, so he thinks about her while he is down and he flies back to san jose after the devils are eliminated by the canes and she sees his nose. She tells him that he learned the hard way to always keep your head up in hockey
A/N: I am dying for some Timo content and something sweet. Like I need sweetness to remind me there is good in the world right now and that the way I am feeling is temporary. So… Here is an attempt.
Word Count: 935
Warnings: Swearing
The last thing you remember before the hit is that the sight of Timo in red is still a little weird to you.
The thought is taken over by pure panic as you watch what unfolds on TV. A sharp intake of breath almost pulls the spit from your mouth down the wrong tube as you watch Jacob Trouba absolutely annihilate your boyfriend. You grip the Sharks logo on your t-shirt in a tight fist.
“What the FUCK!” You scream at the TV, standing on top of your couch, hands dashing through your hair. Your heart is skipping beats as you watch Timo lay on the ice, flat on his back, not moving. “Baby, baby, baby, baby.” You sputter out, fingerprints pressing into your scalp as you begin hyperventilating.
You watch silently, with millions of other people, as the trainer tends to Timo. It’s agony as you wait. Eventually, he is up again, the trainer steadying him. Then he skates off, a bloody towel pressed to his nose.
The rest of the game doesn’t even matter, besides the fact that the Devils sail to the second round of the playoffs. Days seemingly pass before you see his FaceTime call brighten your phone.
“I’m okay.” He says immediately when the call connects. You can’t help it. You burst into tears at the sight of his face. His right eye is already black, deep red gashes fill his nose and you tremble at the thought of what might be wrong with his brain. “No concussion. Just a broken nose and some cuts. It’s okay. Don’t cry, babe."
That night was weeks ago, but when you close your eyes to sleep, you still see it all: the blood, the intensity of his body rocking to the ice, the fear gripping the back of your neck. It makes your stomach twist until falling back to sleep feels impossible.
Lucky for you, the cure of sleepless nights is currently walking to you from his plane ride home to California.
You sway from foot to foot, wishing you could forget it all. Because for the first time in months, Timo is in the same building as you again. You can’t wait to have your arms back around him, feeling the thick muscles of his shoulders through his shirt… then under his shirt.
He walks from beyond the security check point, gaze immediately scanning for you. When he sees you, his grin stretches his cheeks up. He only has his backpack so he hustles to you, weaving through all the other travelers, desperate to get to you. Your feet hold you in your spot grinning back at him, arms at the ready so he can sweep you up. He tosses his arms around your waist, lifting you into his body. He twirls you both around while you hide your face in his shoulder. He smells so good, like home and comfort and hopefully the rest of your life.
“Hi babe.” He sighs, fingers digging into the backs of your thighs as he keeps you up.
“Hi!” You cheese back to him, giddy at how good this instantly feels. All is right in the world again. You lick your lips then press your mouthes together. It’s hard to stay connected at the grins twitching your lips apart. Eventually, you go back to hugging, pressing your faces into one another’s shoulder. The rest of the airport shuffles around, but you two can’t be bothered.
Slowly, you begin to untangle your limbs from him. Your feet hit the floor, but you stay pressed to his front, taking a good look at his face now.
“Oof, baby.” You murmur, running your fingers gently along the fading scars of his cuts. “I guess you learned the hard way to keep your head up.” He gives a slight squint at your chirping. “You look hotter though. Tougher for sure. Maybe I should thank him.”
“Let’s not go that far.” He whispers as he leans down to press your lips together again. You smile into the kiss, enjoying the stroking of his tongue against your teeth. You let him in, sneaking a moan back into his mouth.
“Why did you shave?”
“It was getting itchy.” He murmurs, then rubs his smooth cheek along yours.
“Boo. I miss it already.”
“I’ll grow it out again this summer when we go to Switzerland. Just for you.” He drops multiple kisses to your lips as he talks. Eventually, you start to laugh at his insistent presses.
“You’re so sweet. Wanna get out of here?”
“Yeah, one sec tho.” He murmurs, then leans down to devour your lips again. His tongue strokes a fire in your core. You grip the back of his neck tightly, fingernails creating half moons in his skin there. “When I was on the ice,” he begins, kissing the corners of your lips as he speaks to you. “All I could think about was you. I had to get up for you. They wanted me to stay down and I refused.”
“Babe. You should listen to the trainers.” You whine, closing your eyes and disappearing into the feeling of his mouth on your skin.
“It’s our deal.” He shrugs. “I promised to always get up if I can.”
“I hope that never happens again.” You say honestly, looking at the swinging strands of his sweatshirt hood. He tilts your face back up to look at him. He studies you, gaze dragging along every feature you hate and he thinks is perfect.
“I can’t make that promise to you.” He admits. “But I will keep my head up.”

Boyfriends are sometimes more than boyfriends.
Summary: You spot a spider in Eddie’s room and after an awfully timed joke on his behalf, you have a panic attack. Queue soft Eddie looking after you. Pairing: Eddie Munson X Gender Neurtal Reader Trigger Warnings: Arachnophobia / Panic attacks  Content Warnings: Hyperventilating / Sobbing / after math fear
ohmy- an eddie masterlist!!
Tumblr media
Your typical evening, when spend in Eddie’s trailer, usually fell into a plan of: movie watching, ordering a pizza, Eddie planing some things for his campaign and you sitting near him painting your nails / reading / drawing.
Currently, you’d both checked off everything on the list and decided it’d be a perfect time to lay down and call an end to the day. You slipped off to the bedroom first while Eddie was stood in the kitchen filling a cup or water.
The trailer was filled with a low mumble of bassy guitars and heavy drums until that was over powered by a screamed “OH MY GOD!” and a secondary scream after followed by fast thumps of feet.
The metalhead, dropped his glass into the sink, spinning on the spot to run to you aid, just as he turned, he was met with you: shoulders up, bottom half of your face covered in you hands, constantly mumbling to yourself.
“What happened?”
“Spider! It was huge. I went to turn you music off and I saw it and I screamed and then it fell after I screamed and now its in your room somewhere and I don’t know where-” You rambled.
“How big was it?”
“BIG! Like wider than the frame of your window big!”
“You probably scared it back out the window-” He reasoned, leaning back against the counter.
“No! It fell down, Eddie! I woulda seen it go out the window! Now it’s somewhere in there-” You were stood in the walk way of the kitchen, hands cupping your cheeks, eyes unable to get off his doorway.
“Y/n You’re fine, it can't hurt you.”
“I‘M NOT! it was huge!”
“Do you want me to go look?” He laughed at your behaviour, your response was an overly eager nod, He smiled, walking by you, giving your a quick kiss on the head. You remained sheepishly behind him, still hiding behind your hands, jumping at any slight sensation.
Eddie walked into the room, looking around at his furniture and along the floor. When he got to his cabinet, he shifted a few things around, looking under the items. “See Y/n it’s not here.”
You shook you head viciously, “N-no-no. I don’t believe you- look behind your cabinet.” Your voice was shaken and a slightly higher pitch than usual, you were stood in the door way. He looked at you with a straight face. “Eddie! Please!”
“Y/n, if it was in here I'd see it-”
“Just- Please- Get a flashlight and look behind the drawers!”
He laughed to himself slightly, looking over the drawers using the light from the room, “Oh I can see some spindly legs-”
“Eddie!” You yelled, voice wobbly than ever. Usually with spiders, you’d be scared, maybe scream a little but that’d be it, Eddie’s teasing would make you frustrated but you’d see the humour in it yet tonight, you had a complete opposite reaction.
After his untimely joke, and your squealed response, you felt your throat grow a lump, you threw your face completely in your hands and began to fully sob into them. It happened so quickly that you hadn't been able to stop them.
Eddie turned the second he heard them - it was incredible rare that you'd sob in front of him so he knew he’d hit a nerve - “Oh Y/n....” He said in a delicate way. He almost ran over to you, wrapping you up in his arms, you let yourself fall into his familiar frame. “Breathe...... Heeyyyy....” He spoke quietly into your ear but your sobs got bigger and louder.
At this exact moment, Eddie’s Uncle Wayne walked through the door - after being let off work early - he was confused to say the least at what he’s just walked into. You both broke apart slightly enough to greet his Uncle.
“What have you two done?” Wayne put his question in the air unknown if he rlly wanted an answer.
Eddie had his arm around your shoulder, rubbing the top of your arm, you still had your hands covering the bottom of your face. “There was a spider in his room-” The sheer mention of it brung back your shrieks and sobs.
You rolled yourself back into the boys chest, he dove his arms around you, “Y/n... Sweatheart, you gotta stop crying. “ And obviously, being told to stop made your body want to do it all the more.
“Where was it, doll?” His Uncle asked with genuine concern.
“O-” You tried to answer but you sobs prevailed. You could feel yourself start to feel hazey, you were sweating profusely now and you couldn’t quite seem to the air back in your lungs. You had pulled away from your boyfriend and stood bend over with you hands on your knees trying to level your breathing. Eddie was rubbing you back, feeling awful as his joke pushed you over the edge.
After a moment of two, you pushed yourself back up, hands now playing with the necklace that you always wore. “It was on his window. and I screamed and-and it fell-” You had a tingling sensation at your leg that made you jump and whimper - causing Eddie to lock his eyes on you, resting his hand on the back of your neck. Talking about it again, only bought back the sobbing. “Please Eddie, get a flashlight and look! Please-” Your voice was riddled with fear, nobody - including yourself - had ever heard it like this.
“C’mon Son, the lady has wrote her request.” Wayne moved himself from the doorway to a random draw of bits and bobs in the kitchen.
Eddie lent down to place a love written kiss to your cheek. As he went to walk away, you absentmindedly squeezed his hand back into yours. “You gotta let me go, Sweatheart.” You felt your eyes bubble up and your lips frown. “No, no, no..” He cupped your cheek, “Breath, you're okay. I'm only going there.” He point to his Uncle. You nodded letting him go. But still moving over with him.
The two men found their needed tools and walked into Eddie’s room. Wayne was on catching duties while Eddie was their eyes. The younger boy wasn’t too fond of the creatures himself, but he put on a brave face for you.
You stood in the door way wanting to look but also wanting to see nothing at all. Wayne and Eddie took things off his side, inspecting them closely. “You gotta clean this room, boy.” His whispered to his Nephew as though it was a thought accidentally said out loud.
“More pressing issue at hand, old man.” He quipped back, shining the light in his face.
His uncle pulled the cabinet back slightly, “Ed, shine it down here-” your view was of the two Munson’d leant over the small set of drawers, your were chewing on your necklace, still sweating dramatically and you heart racing. “-That’s a big guy! Got the tissue, Eddie?” Their exchange was silent, “Gotcha!”
As they turned, they were met with you scurrying off to the opposite side of the trailer, “Did you find it?”
“Yeah, we've killed it now, chick.” Wayne waved the tissue as they made their way to the toilet,
“You sure?!” pendant of your necklace still in between your teeth.
“Swear on the old mans life!” Eddie smiles, pointing over to his Uncle, he walked over to you with his arms open. You gleefully fell into his ams, still shaken and spiffily. “You’re sweating so much-”
“I know,” You mumbled into his chest, “I feel like i’ve ran a marathon.”
“All gone!” Wayne came out, whipping his hands.
“Thank you” You mumbled with a smile,
“Just be careful when you have a wee-”
His joke was met with a choir of “WAYNE!” from Eddie and “OHMYGOD NO!-” from you.
“C’mon,” Eddie practically dragged you to his room by your hand, the closer you got the more your heals dug into the floor, “Sweetheart, it’s fine, c’mon.” You smiled at him wobbly, “Do you really not believe me?!” He added his natural drastic flare of empathised words and an action of something stabbing him through the heart. You giggled at his antics, at how someone so scary looking was actually a human daisy. He looked at you with his big doe eyes, holding out his hands.
You took them sheepishly, slowly treading into the room, shoulders up, necklace pendent still in-between your teeth. He dragged you on his bed, leaning to kick the door shut,
“Can you keep it open?” you rushed, he nodded and sat back down.
Leaning over to a pile to pull a shirt out of it, “Take that one off, you’ve sweat through it.” You eyes ran over the room, pointedly to the window. “Hey,” He waved a hand in front of your eyeline, “You’re safe, okay?” You nodded. “C’mon,” He waved the t-shirt.
Coyly, you pulled the shirt over your head. Being topless in front of the metalhead was not a new sight but he still acted like a kid in sweet shop whenever given the chance.  purposefully looking down and gawking at it with a dropped jaw. This made you laugh as swat him with your top,
“Ew! get that sweaty thing away from me!”
“Stop staring at my chest then!”
“When life gives you lemons...”
“Are you 14?”
The two of you were covered in small giggles. Wayne was stood in the kitchen making himself a post work meal, hearing his nephew finally finding someone to love him all the way sometimes felt like a dream, for him have met someone that sees past the tough exterior always made him teary. Hearing your giggles, jokes, and interactions left him laughing slightly to himself.
“You feeling better?” Eddie was now laying down next you as you sat cross legged, now with a top on. His hand was on your knee.
“Um, a little on edge still. My lungs hurt.”
“I’m not surprised” He laughed with you, “Come gimme a cuddle! That always fixes everything.”
With one last sweep of the room, you let yourself lay and roll into his chest, you were practically laying onto of the boy but neither of you minded. Your hands found a curl to roll around your finger and his found a valley on you back to slide down. “Sorry about all that-”
“Hm?”
“Ya kno-” You waved your hand to the window, “Sorry, I overreacted-”
“Hey, no- No, you didn’t. We all have fears-” You sat up, leaning both arms on his chest, “I still reacted more than I should’ve”
He shook his head, rubbing your cheek with his fingers, “I shouldnt’ve pushed you.” You smiled softly at him, “We delt with it, no matter how you reacted. Thank you for feeling safe enough with me to react fully.” He pressed a kiss to your lips.
You matched his kiss, “Thank you,”
“Come down here, im getting a cold chest.” He pulled you back down, squishing you comfortable into his chest, notting his arms behind you. You et yours fall around his shoulders. In minutes you’d both fallen asleep, still with the door open, light on, and a blanket on you.
When Wayne decided to go to sleep, he pared into the room. The two of you were dotted tightly into the other, the duvet now slightly kicked out from under you, Wayne popped in to throw it over you both - knowing the night get cold out of nowhere - he turned the light out and leant the door closed, the sight of you both made him swell on the inside.

Chanting POST THE DRAGON POST THE DRAGON POST THE DRAGON POST THE DRAGON!!!!!
So Willow is out on dragon patrol and it was supposed to be a pretty standard night. But she gets tangled up in some business that it's kinda way too much for her to handle and she has to fight a creature that no dragon in training should be fighting.
So Willow ends up gravely injured. Like. A gnarly slash torn across her abdomen. The creature doesn't bother to finish her off and just leaves her to bleed out right there on the forest floor.
Willow is angry. She's scared. She's in so much pain that she's hysterical. She's gonna die and she can barely think straight. But it hurts too much to pull herself up so she can only lay there. She's lost control of her dragon powers and can't even shift back into her human form. She's hyperventilating. She's gonna die. She doesn't want to die.
And then, there's a sheet of red light blinding her. Willow would know the obnoxious harshness of that light anywhere and she's already hissing and growling before she even sees him.
"Get away from me!" She snarls, using what remains of her energy to writhe and make threats, but she knows deep down its not gonna DO anything. "Get away!!"
"Calm down" He snaps, an almost desperate edge to his voice.
Willow doesn't.
The Golden Guard tries to get closer to her wound but the vicious swipe of her claws and the gnashing of her teeth won't allow for that. He hears him growl impatiently, sees the blur of motion out of the corner of her eye and suddenly there's a sharp spike of pain behind her ear. Willow's fury extinguishes from that touch and she is subdued to a soft whimper.
"Don't....move." He hisses in her ear. His hold on her ear is not nearly as painful as it could be, if he put a little more pressure on it. It's a threat. Move and she'll experience pain beyond her imagination. Nobody's ever severely hurt her there before but all her dragon instincts are screaming at her to co-operate.
Willow doesn't move.
"Thanks" He says in a way that sounds habitual. Willow does not believe he meant to say it. "You'll only bleed out faster if you keep squirming around. Now stay still until I say so."
"You want me to take orders from you?" Willow asks through her ragged breaths. "I'd rather you just hurry up and slay me."
"You're not dying tonight, Dragon."
Willow's brain skips over itself and she can't hide the blatant shock in her voice. "What?"
He's already knelt down by her wound and is rummaging in his belt pouch. He fishes out a small kit and pops the lid open. Thread that gleams silver being pushed through a nondescript needle that Willow suspects are also the magical kind.
Eda has some back at the shop. Thread that never snaps. Needles that can pierce through anything. Perfect for stitching up the thick, leathery skin of a dragon.
There is no other alternative explanation for what is currently happening. The Golden Guard is preparing to stitch her up.
"Why...?" She asks.
She feels the first incision of the needle.
"I did not make it this far just to slay my first dragon like THIS." He answers. "It"d be pathetic. I'd be pathetic."
"Nobody would know...." Willow finds herself saying. The pain might be getting to her head.
"I'd know."
A silence falls between them as the Guard continues his stitch work. "It's gonna scar."
"Aw, man...."
"Hey, it's a scar or death. Take it or leave it."
"Your bedside manner sucks."
He makes a noise. If she didn't know better it might have been a snort. Or maybe it was a scoff. Or maybe he just makes weird noises when he sews.
"This is humiliating...." She mutters.
"For you and me both..."
She opens her mouth. She wants to say that it doesn't have to be humiliating for him. Because there is no reason to be doing this.
He doesn't have to slay her. But he could have left her here. So long as Amity Blight is alive, there's a worthy trophy for him. It never had to be her.
"Magic thread or no magic thread," He says. "You're still gonna need proper treatment. Do you....have somewhere you can go....?"
Willow's mind swims with options. Home to Gilbert. Eda's place. Luz...or Gus...
"Yeah. My family."
There's a prolonged pause and she doesn't know why. But then he says "Okay. Go to your family."
The word family sounds strange on his tongue.
"Listen" He mutters and Willow can hear the venom leaking back into his tone. "I don't want to see you again until you've recovered. You aren't going to turn me into the laughing stock whose first kill was an incapacitated dragon."
"Should I say Thank You?"
"If you do I'll swallow all my pride and slice you through right now."
"Phew," She manages to joke in spite of her exhaustion. "Thank God you're not expecting anything. I was dreading giving you a little thanksies kiss."
He makes that noise again. "Shut up."
She can't describe the way his voice sounded then. Soft. Like there was a smile hidden away. But then again, she might still be delirious from the pain.
He doesn't say goodbye. One moment he was there and the next he wasn't.
And Willow has now has a new scar.
ANYWAY. Several weeks later. Or maybe it's months. Who cares. The point is Luz and Gus have been informed by Willow of just how much Hunter has been missing out on. So they've been determined to drag him places. It's the beach this time.
Hunter was not prepared for Willow Park in a swimsuit. Tho tbf he hasn't been prepared for Willow Park in anything but the world literally does not give a shit about what he's prepared for. And now she's hanging around in a bikini and it's got cute little flowers on it because Willow Park loves cute little flowers. And also...it is showing parts of her that he's never seen before. Her whole arms are on display holy shit!!!!
And there's a stomach too. And maybe, if she were anyone else, if he were anyone else, he wouldn't have paid much notice. But because he was Hunter and she was Willow, his eyes are all over her stomach.
It started off as just teen hormones but once he saw it, there was a non-hormonal explanation for his lingering eyes.
Something in him shifts.
The scar is jagged and peculiar looking. The stitch work was a hasty job.
There's no reason for his instincts to be ringing alarm bells right now. Its likely a surgery scar or something. Tons of people have scars on their belly
But Hunter has instincts, whether he likes them or not.
He doesn't like them by the way. Because a lot of the time they're wrong. They scream at him a lot about Belos and the Emperor's Clan and other things that are safe to him.
And also....he can't do it. He can't think about this. Because he can't bear to accept it. She's Willow Park. He can't....if she was then....he can't. No. They're surgery scars.
He makes his brain shut up and believe what it wants to believe. Like he does all the time.
But still, he can't stop staring at that scar. Even when he tries to ignore it....something inside of him is rioting.
Willow is standing in front of him and she's babbling away about something. But for once, Hunter isn't paying attention.
He doesn't know what possessed him to do it. But before he even realizes what's happening, his palm is settled over Willow's tummy scar, unwilling to accept the possibility of what it could be, but unable to not be inexplicably drawn to it.
A second passes. Then two.
Then the inner turmoil shatters as Hunter realizes what the FUCK he's doing.
It hits him like a truck. His hand. Her belly. His gaze travels upwards, afraid of what he'll see, and she finds her slackjawed expression, fluorescent pink splashed across her cheeks.
Hunter's whole face boils worse than any sunburn could give him.
And suddenly the focus of Willow's tummy revolves entirely around hormones again.

Whumptember 2023, Day 23
“Is that blood?”
Passing out | Hyperventilating | New scars
The Bee's Whumptember Masterlist
~1010 words
CW: blood, cuts, medical suturing (with needle)
------------
Blood spurted out from under Caretaker’s fingers as they pushed the curved needle through red and dirt-stained skin. They cursed under their breath and pressed into the fresh wound, squinting to make sure they were pressing in the right place through the blanketing darkness. Whumpee’s fliched and their head shot up.
“What, uh… what’s wrong?” they lulled with dull eyes.
“Shh, Whumpee, quiet please…” Caretaker whispered, wishing they could tear their gaze away from their work to look Whumpee in the eyes. “It’s nothing, just lay back down, keep your heart rate low.”
Whumpee blinked. “Caretaker… We ah, we gotta go. They’ll gonna… They’re gonna catch us.”
Shouting in the distance. A beam of light arked over their heads.
“I know, Whumpee, I know. Just gotta get you patched up first, okay? Then we can run.”
Whumpee nodded and slumped back down, satisfied with Caretaker’s nonsensical plan. As if Caretaker could fix the deep slash running across their calf with needle and string and hope. They’d need an extra dose of prescription-strength miracle for that… Caretaker busied themself with their sewing again as the shouting of their hunters grew louder, and they had to duck down further into the brush.
"Ow!"
"Shh… It's okay Whumpee, it's okay, quiet..." Caretaker stuck another suture through the wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding, but they only had basic training. The blood continued to gush down, down, down. Whumpee whimpered and tried to pull their leg away, a fruitless venture considering their current state. They barely even got a twitch in before they stilled again.
"What're… What's happening…"
Caretaker cringed. "Some bad people are looking for us.” They whispered, intentionally dodging the real intent of the inquiry. “They'll find us if you don't shush, so please…"
A small hum sounded from Whumpee's throat as they finally laid their head back down and closed their eyes.
Another stitch. Another. Whumpee twitched and pulled under Caretaker's grasp, but they held their ward still. Blood gushed faster from the wound.
“Caretaker…”
Only the ruffle of the foliage and the light sounds of wildlife rustling about. Boots crunched leaves in the distance.
"Caretaker!"
"Shh!" Caretaker hissed. "Whumpee, it's so important that we're quiet right now, please!"
"What're you doing to me?" Whumpee's voice was suddenly so small. Caretaker froze.
"I'm, uh…" Caretaker stared down again at their blood-soaked hands, the maroon liquid dripping down and soaking into the forest floor. "You have a bit of a cut. We can leave until I make it better. So I'm making it all better."
Whumpeesuddenly shot up stock straight, and Caretaker nearly toppled backward.
"I'm hurt?!"
"No, no, shh, Whumpee, it's okay, you're okay, you’re fine, lay back down!"
Whumpee clawed forward and grasped at Caretaker as the far away crunches of leaves started to close in, shouts ringing throughout the forest that they thought they may have heard something this way.
"Caretaker, I can't, I can't, not again, please don't let them–"
Whumpee's face blanched suddenly as they caught sight of their half-stitched together and gored up leg, thick sticky liquid gushing out between threads spreading tendrils down their entire leg and dyeing the pine straw surrounding them a deep crimson. Caretaker went to reach for Whumpee until they remembered their hands were too covered in the same gore.
Whumpee's breath shuddered. "Is that… is that blood."
Caretaker sat frozen, torn between demanding Whumpee shut up and freezing from all the sudden noises. The beams of light swinging above them were multiplying, slowly but surely lighting up the forest around them. Whumpee's breathing started to become shallow.
"...my blood?"
Caretaker lunged over to Whumpee’s and tucked their arms under their charge’s back to support them as their breathing started to get heavy and fast and loud, chest puffing in and out sporadically as all their muscles seemed to go tense at once and they kicked out as if they could shake the wound off entirely if they swung hard enough
"Shhhh, shh, shh, shh, Whumpee, Whumpee, look at me, look at me, everything's okay, it's okay, you're fine, you’re fine, I promise, you’re okay."
"Not fine. Blood. So much–. Blood! I'm dying! Help! Help me–! Caretaker! Ple-ease I can't– I can't– I ca-a-an't– can't die– I can't die– please don’t–!" Whumpee barely managed to get out the onslaught of words through their ever-increasing shallow breaths, their eyes darting around trying to find safety, only finding Caretaker for a brief moment before panicking away again. Their body trembled violently as they grasped to hold onto anything that they could, littering burning red scratches across Caretaker's arms and back as they pinned Whumpee down.
"Shhh! Shhh, Whumpee you'll be fine but I need you to calm down–"
"Caretaker! Caretaker– I don– I don't – can't– I can't–... don't– Wanna die– die-e-e-e-e please–... please let– lemme go–... please… ple-e-e-ease, please… Ca-aretak…"
Whumpee's eyes started to flutter shut as they stopped dancing around and struggled to focus on anything in particular. Their body fell limp in Caretaker's grasp before violently tensing wholly again, then relaxing again, over and over until Whumpee's body fell fully lax in their arms.
Footsteps crunched barely a rock-skip away, trailing a searchlight methodically raking the ground and waiting patiently for its moment to betray the duo's meager hiding spot. Caretaker gently slapped at Whumpee's face, barely earning a flutter from their eyes as their breathing started evening out.
They cursed softly once again and held Whumpee close to their chest, pushing back as far as they could into the perceived safety of the brush. The boots stomped at the ground just outside where Caretaker and Whumpee had first crashed down.
They set Whumpee back down onto the ground and softly slapped at their face again. No response. So they checked their pulse, their own heartbeat pounding loudly in their ears. The vein pulsed erratically under their fore- and middle-fingers. Caretaker heaved an unsteady sigh of relief.
They very carefully moved back to Whumpee's leg, eyes never leaving the methodical boots as they moved ever closer.
And they continued to sew.

after effect
you can’t expect me to believe they all immediately went back to being happy, especially since Wukong got POSSESSED. this is set inbetween the end of the battle and the scene at the end with the noodles
TW: panic attacks, Wukong throws up (ive marked the start and end of any mentions of it with a *, so it can be skipped), injury mentions
Word Count: 2.8k
Read on Ao3
Wukong bounced his leg.
Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Macaque's ear twitch in his general direction, but other than that, the shadow monkey currently sitting beside him while simultaneously trying to keep as much distance between them as possible didn't pay any attention to him.
Which was fair. Macaque focus was mostly on the girl laying on the bed across from them, sound asleep, curled up with Mo within her arms.
She'd passed out before any of them had managed to get her name.
The van went over a small bump in the road, jostling them, and the girl whimpered in her sleep.
Wukong winced.
The girl's back had been injured pretty badly. They'd done what they could, and both Macaque and Wukong himself had poured a bit of magic into it... but there was only so much they could do.
It'd be very likely she'd have difficulties walking in the future.
On the bunk above her, MK and Red Son sat huddled up on each side of Mei. Red Son seemed to be nodding off, and MK and Mei were having a whispered conversation that Wukong couldn't pick up. He could ask Macaque what they were talking about. But he won't. Macaque hadn't said a word to him this whole time after all.
Wukong's leg kept bouncing as he shifted his gaze towards the front of the van.
Pigsy and Tang sat in shotgun, Tang on Pigsy's lap, calmly reading a book while Pigsy kept his eyes out the window. Sandy was driving.
A quick check with his golden vision revealed Nezha sitting on the roof, completely oblivious to the winds as they drove.
Overall, everyone seemed...calm. Relaxing, after the long battle, they deserved the rest.
But Wukong just couldn't relax.
The speed of his bouncing leg kicked up a notch. His tail started swishing behind him to accompany it. Macaque's ear twitched in his direction again, but Wukong ignored it. His mind was spinning.
The Lady Bone Demon was gone. They'd evaporated her with the might of the staff and the Samadhi fire combined.
His claws dug into his arm, scratching.
The Lady was gone, so why did he still feel like she was crawling under his skin? Her energy flowing through his veins, surrounding his heart. Her power blinding his vision, swirling in his brain. Her voice ringing in his ears. The spirits contained within him.
Within him.
Oh heavens, she'd been within him.
Wukong shuddered. And didn't stop shuddering. Wukong thought that was weird. People didn't usually shudder for very long did they? Shaking then. No, but that couldn't be right. He's Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, he doesn't shake. He does not tremble.
Wukong took a deep breath in.
It came out a little faster than usual.
He could feel his skin heating up. His heart pounding in his ears. Like the sound of echoing footsteps across a wooden floor.
He tried to take another deep breath, but it caught, once again coming out slightly irregular.
He'd attacked them. He'd frozen Nezha. Frozen Mei. Punched Red Son in the gut. Thrown MK off a cliff. Hurt Macaque so badly he could barely stand.
Wukong ignored the fact that he himself, was still hurt. That his injuries had yet to be treated because he had not brought them up. He was the invulnerable Monkey King after all. He didn't get hurt.
So then why did his chest feel so tight?
Mei was the one with the ring of fire in her chest. Why was it starting to feel like one was forming inside of his?
Why did it make him feel so scared?
...
He could still feel her crawling under his skin.
The fire reached his throat.
Wukong abruptly realized that he was hyperventilating.
*
And that he was definitely going to be sick.
Standing up, he almost collapsed, feeling weak in the knees, but he managed to steady himself. Too deep in his own mind to register the stares of those on the beds around him, he grabbed the bucket that had been placed in the van in case of emergencies, finally letting himself fall to his knees as he pulled it close.
Sandy stopped the van as soon as he heard the dry heaving.
"Monkey King?!" MK slid out of Mei's grasp, jumping down from the bed and hurriedly moving beside his mentor. Mei shook Red Son awake, and Macaque stood up, his tail freezing in shock. Tang got off of Pigsy's lap as they and Sandy made their way back.
Wukong continued to tremble, clutching onto the bucket hard enough that if he weren't in such a weak state, it would most certainly break. Without even meaning or wanting to, he started crying as he dry heaved again. (He hadn't eaten anything in...days, really. Maybe he should've. Would that have made this experience better or worse? Wukong didn't know).
*
Above him, the others shared a concerned glance.
"Easy there, Monkey." Pigsy said, slowly kneeling down beside him and reaching out to rub a comforting circle on Wukong's back.
Wukong's fur, already standing on end, bristled.
"Don't!" He yelled, barely managing enough strength to pull himself off the ground for long enough to spin around, before he was collapsing back to the floor, now facing the others. His breaths unsteady, wheezing, the skin on his back burning, the sensation reminding him of the Lady Bone Demon's energy plunging into his body, of the spear plunging between his shoulder blades, of the mountain, keeping him t r a p p e d-
The armour around his neck felt too heavy. Like it was choking him.
Desperate, nearly choking on a sob, Wukong let go of the bucket, hands instead moving to claw at the armour in an attempt to get it off. His eyes squeezed shut as he couldn't manage it, letting out a whine.
Gentle hands encircled his, holding them away from the armour despite Wukong's attempts to continue clawing at it, and another set of hands carefully pulled the armour off of him. He let out another gasping breath, air still not coming in easy even though the weight of the armour had been removed.
His eyes hurt.
The tears blurred his vision, leaving him unable to tell who was doing what. Vaguely, he heard what sounded like a door being opened, but couldn't register much else.
All he could hear was the sound of tumbling rocks as the mountain shifted above him.
The hands rubbing circles onto his was the only thing reminding him that he was no longer trapped.
Wukong squeezed his eyes shut, trying hard to picture a clear blue sky and open field, and didn't even register that his glamours had fallen. The hands holding his paused, for a second, before resuming rubbing circles into his palms, somehow even gentler than before.
Someone else placed a hand upon his chest.
"Breathe, Sun Wukong."
An aura of energy of some kind entered his chest, and Wukong almost choked on it, expecting the sting of the Lady Bone Demon's cold hands filling his chest-
But no.
This was warm.
Wukong took a deep breath in.
And a slow breath out.
It didn't- it didn't burn, like the smoke of the furnace, the fire of Samadhi, or the molten copper that had been shoved down his throat.
This felt-
It felt comforting.
Before he knew it, Wukong was tilting forwards, all his days without sleep finally catching up to him, his body feeling heavy with exhaustion as his eyes slid shut.
The last thing he registered was the sensation of arms wrapping around him.
-
"What did you do?!" MK whisper-yelled, almost panicked as he caught his mentor, keeping him from having a close encounter with the floor. Mei let go of Wukong's hands, and Nezha stood up, moving back from where he'd been leaning in front of Wukong.
"I calmed him down, nothing else." Nezha said, staring down at the fast asleep Monkey King with an emotion MK could only label as concern. "The fact he passed out immediately though is... odd. When was the last time he slept?"
The room went silent as everyone mentally came to the same conclusion; Sun Wukong hadn't slept in a while.
From where he still stood in frozen in front of the bed he'd initially been sitting on, Macaque let out a shaky exhale. Nezha immediately spun around to him.
"Don't you start up now too, monkey. Don't think I'll do the same thing to you as I did for him." He said, Macaque simply waving him off as he slowly made his way over to look down at Wukong.
He tsked.
"Those sleeves are unsalvageable." He said, the others blinking in confusion before glancing back down at Wukong's sleeves. Sure enough, he'd torn them in his panic, to the point there were very visible tear lines. Red Son let out a strangled laugh.
"Seriously? That's what you're focusing on right now?"
-
When Wukong started to stir, the first thing he noticed was the light breeze on his face. He groaned, blearily trying to open his eyes, wincing as he adjusted to the sunshine.
Wait, hadn't he been inside before-
He tried to rush into a standing position, but failed upon the sensation of pain in his chest and legs, and a surprising sense of weakness (and tiredness. But hey, he was always tired, so that didn't count). He fell back down, grunting, before planting a hand against the ground and slowly pulling himself up into a sitting position instead.
The second thing he noticed was that his glamours were down, and there were bandages wrapped around him.
It was pretty obvious, considering he could now actually see his recently singed fur, it looked like it had been...somewhat treated though. It didn't look nearly as messy as it had the last time he'd looked. There were bandages on his arms- the sleeves of his outfit had been taken off. Weird. He didn't remember that happening.
He brought one hand up to his face and was met with a bandage on his cheek, where Nezha's spear had sliced him. Weird, he hadn't thought it was bad enough to have needed a bandage, it was nothing a quick glamour couldn't disguise after all, but then again, he'd always been bad about telling when his own injuries were serious. All he knew was whether or not something hurt.
There were bandages wrapped around his forehead. He could feel the light pressure from them. It reminded him of when Mei had treated his (already glamoured) injuries on the airship, as well as.... something from a lot, lot longer ago.
He wasn't sure if it made him feel comforted or anxious.
Choosing to ignore it, to put it in the back of his mind to never address again, he finally started to take in more of his surroundings.
They were still in the desert on the outskirts of the city. Sandy had said something about there being a nice camping spot where they could all relax for a bit, but based on the surrounding area he was pretty sure they hadn't made it there yet. He could call their surroundings many things, but "nice camping spot" was not one of them.
The van was parked nearby, they'd placed him underneath the shade of the lone tree in the area. Now that he was paying more attention, he realized he was laying on top of at least 3 blankets (he was pretty sure at least one of them belonged to MK), and one of Mei's older jackets was resting on his lap (it must've been resting on his chest and stomach before, and had slid down when he'd tried to stand). A chill went down his spine, so he carefully picked it up and slung it over his shoulders, pulling it close.
The others were sitting on a picnic blanket nearby, eating what looked like sandwiches. The girl must've woken up while he was out, as she was using Tang's arm for balance as she gently sat down. She looked a little shaky. Wukong would have to- to make her a cane with magic in it or- or something. He had to do something, even though it could never possibly make up for what he'd done-
"I see you're finally awake."
Wukong did his best not to jump, but his fur did bristle, as he turned to the left to see Sandy calmly sitting beside him. He had no idea how he'd missed noticing him. The water demon did seem to somehow have a habit of sneaking up on people.
"How are you feeling?" Sandy asked, before holding out a cup of steaming tea for Wukong to take.
Wukong stared down at the cup blankly.
He didn't exactly...like warm drinks.
"Uh-" He started to speak, and then clicked his mouth shut, the sound of his voice surprising him. He sounded gravelly, and he winced as his throat suddenly tinged with pain. He eyed the cup of tea again. He wasn't exactly keen on drinking it, but any form of liquid probably would help, but then he'd have to explain why the sensation would make him wince and then-
"Chill out a little, Wukong." A new voice said, and both Wukong and Sandy both leaned back as Macaque appeared out of the shadows beside them, holding his hand out over the tea, forming a little shadow portal and letting a couple of ice cubes fall into the cup. Wukong blinked in shock, and Sandy tilted his head a little, clearly confused and about to ask Macaque why he'd done that-
"Ey- Macaque!" Pigsy yelled, and Macaque, who had been slouching, immediately stood ramrod straight. Pigsy stepped forwards, reaching to the side and taking Nezha's spear out of his hands, the god watching him do this in offence and disbelief, but making no move to stop him as Pigsy approached the shadow monkey, spun the staff around-
And bonked Macaque on the head with it.
"I told you- no shadowy business." Pigsy said.
"Right, you got it, no shadowy business." Macaque sidestepped, brushing the spear away from his face. Pigsy huffed, before walking back over to the picnic blanket, tossing the spear back to Nezha, who caught it expertly. Pigsy sat down, turning his head back to face Wukong. "We've got sandwiches and fruits over here, whenever you're ready."
Wukong could do nothing but nod.
Sandy offered him the cup of tea again, and this time Wukong took it, blowing on it instinctively before taking a sip.
It was surprisingly cool.
Pausing, Wukong looked up and over at where Macaque was now leaning against the side of the van, away from everyone else. Macaque, upon noticing him staring, pointedly looked away, pulling his scarf up over the lower half of his face.
Wukong glanced back down at his recently iced tea.
He took another sip.
Sandy, seeing that Wukong was actually drinking something now, stood up, gently patting Wukong on the head as he walked back over to the picnic blanket. Wukong froze mid-sip, for a brief second, before choosing to pretend it hadn't even happened.
He almost choked when MK sat down beside him, heavily leaning against his side (though notably not heavy enough to actually make any of his injuries hurt). Wukong's tail stilled for a split second, before starting to swish back and forth as he processed the close contact.
They sat there in silence for a few minutes.
"Are you...okay?" MK eventually asked, pulling the staff out of his pocket and fiddling with it.
For a moment, Wukong considered lying.
He thought better of it.
"...No." He answered, feeling MK tense beside him. "I haven't been okay in a long time, MK."
MK let out a breath.
And then he wrapped an arm around Wukong's shoulders, pulling him into a one armed hug. Wukong tensed, but then relaxed into the touch.
"You know you can tell us about anything, right? It doesn't have to be me, it could be Tang, or Pigsy, just. Any of us. We'd be willing to listen." MK said, "Even if it is about your collection of merch from that show you like to watch that's hidden under your bed."
"My wha- I don't have- when did you-"
"I have my ways, Monkey King." MK did a little peace sign, before reverting back to being serious. "But like, seriously. You can talk to us."
"...I'll keep that in mind, kid." Wukong said, "...But also I think you might wanna get back to your picnic, I think Mei and Red Son are having a competition on who can steal the most of your food before anyone notices, and Macaque is winning."
"Oh sh-"
MK quickly got up, running back over to his plate, letting out a loud "Hey!" as he witnessed Red Son trying to take another piece of his sandwich off of his plate. Wukong watched him go with a smile, that quickly slipped back into a neutral expression.
He'd have to apologize to MK later. For...everything.

The Sheep Becomes The Shepherd
This is for someone in a Discord server I’m in.
It’s also kind of turned into a little AU.
Here’s the AO3 link if this is too long.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
He woke laying on the floor in the middle of a pentagram, surrounded by candles and coffins.
He noticed neither of these right away, bolting up into a sitting position as he gasped for air. He didn’t know why, but it felt as though he had been drowning a moment before. He could still feel the liquid clogging his nose, in his throat, oily and acrid and far too thick to be water.
It took longer than he would have liked to calm himself down. He took some small comfort in the fact that no one was around to witness his moment of weakness. He would have hated for anyone to see him like this. So... vulnerable and afraid. It would have been used against him. He just knew it. Especially by Joey.
After a few minutes, he managed to get himself under control. He didn’t feel completely calm, but he deemed himself steady enough to get up and figure out what was going on.
It was then, as he began to push himself off the ground, that he caught a glimpse of his body, which sent him into hyperventilation all over again.
Because it looked...wrong.
His arms were pitch black and looked like noodles, ending in large white four-fingered gloves. Instead of feet, there were stylized hooves at the end of his legs. His whole body seemed to be covered in what seemed like wool as well. He was wearing pants and suspenders, but this gave him very little comfort.
“No. No no no no no,” he muttered, patting his body and his head.
His horror only grew when he felt horns on the side of his head, long sheep ears, and a protruding muzzle where his face should have been.
His panic came back full force as he stumbled to his feet, beginning to pace and pull frantically at parts of his body. It didn’t even hurt, everything snapping comically bank into place once he let go.
This had to be a dream. It had to be. This couldn’t be real.
He didn’t even notice the coffins surrounding him as he stumbled out of the room, screaming for someone, anyone.
“Hello?! I need help! Anyone!” He tried not to focus on the bleating undertone in his voice, but it was all he could hear. Was he going to keep turning into a sheep? Would he be unable to talk soon?
He recognized he was in the Music Department as he passed through a gate, but he was too caught up in his situation to wonder why it looked so decrepit and abandoned. For a moment, he felt relieved at the sight of the familiar sign. He could find someone here, he was sure of it. Jack had to be here. Or Norman. They would know what to do. They would know what was going on.
Logically, he knew that they either wouldn’t be there or wouldn’t know anything, but all the logic in his brain had currently been shoved aside by the sheer terror of this situation. And that terror clung to the idea of familiar faces, desperate for some modicum of comfort amid the sea of dread.
“Jack? Polk?!” He yelled, glancing frantically about.
There was no answer.
Sammy’s panic only grew at this.
He couldn’t be alone here.
He felt tears welling up in his eyes, threatening to spill over. He cursed quietly as he furiously wiped them away.
“Come on, Lawrence, keep it together,” he muttered. He couldn’t break down like this. Someone might see him.
A more horrifying thought occurred to him, though. A thought that made his whole body feel cold.
What if someone didn’t?
What if he was alone here?
He shook his head. No! He couldn’t let himself fall down that hole of pessimism. For once in his life, he had to try to be optimistic. There had to be someone else here.
He took a few deep breaths, trying to still his shaking hands and slow his racing heart. It…wasn’t really working. But he didn’t feel like he was about to collapse anymore, so that was a small win.
He started to walk again, turning and heading for Jack’s area. Honestly, Jack probably wouldn’t know what was going on either. He never did. But having him around would make Sammy feel better. He could always count on Jack to calm him down and keep him from flying off the handle. If he could find Jack, he would be able to handle this.
His hopes were thoroughly crushed when he reached the stairs and found them flooded.
That cold feeling returned as he stared down at the rippling ink.
He didn’t know how long he stood there, just staring at the ink. At some point, though, he began to move again, his feet carrying him back into the main area where he collapsed with his back against the wall. There, beneath the Music Department sign, his knees drawn up to his chest, he began to sob.
Sammy didn’t cry often. In fact, he hardly cried at all. It was something he’d trained himself out of as he’d gotten older. Boys don’t cry, after all. As such, he couldn’t remember the last time he’d cried this hard. Maybe never. He’d never felt this hopeless before. This…alone.
His desperate wails echoed off the rafters draped with cobwebs, big inky tears welling up in his eyes and dribbling down his cheeks to fall to the ground with audible plops. His crying was the only sound in the derelict department, drowning out the relentless dripping of the ink.
He cried until he physically couldn’t cry anymore. He slumped, resting his head against his knees as he let his arms fall to his sides.
It was then that he felt the hand on his leg.
He let out a yelp, head snapping up to see what was touching him. He wasn’t prepared for what he saw.
A strange humanoid creature that looked to be made of ink had a hand on his leg, making what might have been a comforting groaning sound. It looked to be only the top half of a person, the rest cut off by the puddle of ink it was coming out of. A few more of these creatures were scattered around the room, peering curiously at him from their puddles.
Sammy froze, staring at the creatures with wide eyes. The one nearest to him patted his leg again, making that groan once more.
Slowly, Sammy got to his feet, keeping his back against the wall. The creatures watched him, continuing to regard him from their puddles.
Then Sammy ran.
The creatures all let out confused groans, moving to follow him as he broke for the recreation room. This only made Sammy run fast.
“LEAVE ME ALONE!” He yelled, rounding the pool table in hopes that it would deter or at least slow his pursuers down. It did not. They just continued to follow, dragging themselves into the room and ducking under the table.
Sammy tried to sprint away again. Only to realize there was a shutter in his way. But he was already barreling toward it. He couldn’t stop his momentum without smacking right into it. He closed his eyes, fully expecting to slam into the metal.
He didn’t.
To his surprise, he kept going, unobstructed. He opened his eyes, legs still pumping, and looked behind him. In the metal of the shutter was a perfect sheep-toon-shaped hole. Like he’d busted right through it.
…He’d unpack that later. Along with the whole… “being a toon” thing.
He was right behind the recording booth now, passing into the hallway beyond it. He didn’t know where he was going, just that he needed to get away from those ink creatures. More of them were springing up behind him as he headed toward what looked to be a flooded room. He could see a door on the other side of it. The next room would probably be flooded too, but maybe it could lead him somewhere safe.
Going to that room was a mistake, as he’d soon learn.
Right as he got to the edge of the ink, a figure rose out of it, sending Sammy screeching to a halt. Black veins appeared on the walls and Sammy could hear a heartbeat pounding in his ears. Was it his? Did it belong to this…thing?
It looked like a twisted version of Bendy, tall and emaciated, its eyes covered by dripping ink. Sammy wasn’t sure why, but looking at it made him feel as though he truly were a lamb, face to face with a hungry wolf.
For a moment, all was still. The two of them just stared at each other.
Then the twisted Bendy let out a bone-chilling shriek and lunged.
Sammy ran. Once again, he had no idea where he was going, just that he needed to get away. Only this time the stakes seemed much higher. He’d run from the ink creatures because he didn’t know what they were and that made him afraid. They hadn’t seemed hostile, just confused.
But this thing? This thing definitely wanted to kill him.
He dodged around corners and ducked under low-hanging planks, all the while the heartbeat kept pounding in his ears. He just needed to outrun it, right? Keep going until it got bored and looked for an easier target? Wait, that was wild animals, wasn’t it? Did this thing operate like a wild animal? He kept glancing over his shoulder, hoping it wouldn’t still be there when he looked back. But it was every time, smiling wide and reaching for him with a disturbingly human-looking hand.
Thankfully, the twisted Bendy did seem to get bored of chasing him eventually. The heartbeat and ink veins faded, leaving Sammy alone in a silent room. Sammy stopped running, looking back to make sure the twisted demon wasn’t still there. It didn’t seem to be, and a little more investigation confirmed that it was indeed gone.
“Oh, thank God,” Sammy sighed, slumping against a wall. “What the Hell was that?”
There was no answer. Not that he’d expected one.
He allowed himself to slide down the wall to the ground, resting his head in his hands. Now that he had a chance to catch his breath, all the terror was coming welling back up again.
What on God’s green Earth was going on here?! What was that demon?! What were those ink creatures?! Why did he look like a fucking cartoon sheep?! Why couldn’t he remember what had happened to him before he’d woken up in that circle?!
He was so caught up in his mental anguish that he didn’t notice the approaching footsteps until a hand was on his shoulder.
Sammy let out another yell upon feeling the touch, scrambling to his feet in preparation to run again.
But it wasn’t an ink creature that had reached out to him. It was…
“Boris?”
The Boris stiffened at his voice, shrinking back with hunched shoulders and flattened ears. It was shaking. Why was it shaking? He hadn’t even done anything.
“Hey, I don’t want to hurt you.” Sammy put his hands up. “I’m…sorry if I scared you. I’m not in a very good place right now.”
The Boris looked surprised at the apology, its ears slowly unflattening and shoulders lowering. It began to make some gestures with its hands. It took a moment for Sammy to register that it was an attempt at sign language, hindered slightly by the Boris’s four fingers.
“Could you repeat that?” He asked. “I…didn’t quite catch it.”
The Boris nodded, signing out its message again, a bit slower. “Why do you look like that?”
Sammy’s shoulders slumped. “I wish I knew.”
“You don’t remember?” The Boris tilted its head to the side, frowning slightly.
“No.” Sammy shook his head. “The last thing I remember is working at my desk. Everything was fine! There weren’t ink creatures or weird Bendys that wanted to kill me and I wasn’t a f&@#ing sheep!” As he spoke, his voice began to rise as he gestured wildly and pulled at his ears and wool.
The Boris shrunk back again, which forced Sammy to try and reign himself in.
“Sorry. This is just…very stressful.”
The Boris nodded, hands shaking as he signed. “Do you remember…me?”
Sammy frowned. “Of course I remember you. I’d have to have lost a lot more of my memory to not remember one of the main characters of the cartoons.”
The Boris quickly shook its head, signing frantically. “I’m not Boris.” It signed this a few times, beginning to shake. It had to fingerspell out ‘Boris’, although it messed up more than once, almost spelling a different name before stopping and trying again. It was like it was trying to convince itself.
“Well if you aren’t Boris then who are you?” Sammy asked, trying not to sound too testy.
The Boris paused, then painstakingly began to fingerspell, “B-U-D-D-Y.”
Those five letters made Sammy feel as though he’d been dunked in ice.
“Art Department?” He whispered.
The Boris, no, Buddy nodded.
Sammy felt like he was going to be sick. “How did…” He hesitated, swallowing. “Was it…me? Did I…Did I do it?”
Thankfully, Buddy shook his head. Sammy let out a sigh of relief, which he immediately felt guilty about. A child is still dead, Lawrence!
“So it was Joey, then,” Sammy concluded.
Buddy nodded again, ears flattening once more.
Sammy avoided his gaze. “I’m…sorry.”
“It wasn’t your fault.” Buddy tried to reassure him.
It didn’t make Sammy feel any better. He was starting to remember the way he’d treated Buddy during the boy’s short tenure at the company. God, he’d been awful. And…he’d trapped him in the band room, hadn’t he? He’d tied Buddy up along with one of the other employees.
Maybe he hadn’t caused Buddy to become a Boris, but he’d certainly helped Joey capture the kid, hadn’t he?
“Are you alright?” Buddy asked. “You don’t look good.”
“I think I…I think I need to lay down,” Sammy mumbled.
Buddy nodded, gently taking Sammy by the arm and guiding him away.
.
As it turned out, Buddy had established himself in a little safe house. Sammy didn’t know what it had been when the studio had still been running, or if it had even been there before this whole nightmare, but it was comfortable enough. It had a stove, some beds, and a bathroom.
Once Sammy had had enough time to compose himself, Buddy filled Sammy in on the situation in the studio as best he could. His sign language was limited enough that he had to rely on drawing and writing for some things, but he managed to get the information across.
The twisted Bendy was known as the Ink Demon. Buddy didn’t know where it had come from or what it wanted, but it hunted every inhabitant of the studio. Buddy was very insistent that Sammy should stay away from it if he wanted to stay alive.
Perfect toons like him and Sammy were incredibly rare. Buddy hadn’t run into any others in his time surviving in the studio, although he had run into plenty of dead Borises. He didn’t want to go into too much detail on where he thought the mutilated Borises were coming from, and Sammy didn’t feel right pushing him to talk about it.
The ink creatures Sammy had run into in the Music Department were Searchers, poor souls who the ink hadn’t given a concrete form or identity. They weren’t too much of a threat and usually wouldn’t bother you if you didn’t bother them, although some got a bit aggressive sometimes.
There were also the Lost Ones on the lower levels who had a more humanoid upright form but were equally lacking in identity. They kept to themselves, hiding from the violent creatures that roamed the studio.
The other threat Buddy warned Sammy to watch out for were the Butcher Gang clones, twisted replicas of the cartoon villains that behaved like animals and would attack on sight. They weren’t particularly strong on their own but were dangerous in groups.
.
He visited Jack as much as he could.
He returned to the Music Department perhaps a week or so after getting himself situated in Buddy’s safe house. Some poking and exploration revealed to him that Jack’s area could be drained. He just needed to use the pump switch in his sanctuary.
He’d almost forgotten how complicated it was to get it open. Honestly, what on Earth had he been thinking? Well, he knew what he’d been thinking, roughly. He’d been thinking it would discourage others from attempting to get into his sanctuary. But the complicated nature of getting inside also meant he’d gotten trapped inside more than once.
Thankfully, Jack or Norman had usually been there to get him out, although Norman had made sure to enjoy Sammy’s pleading for a bit before getting him out, claiming he needed to warm up his old bones before doing something so strenuous. Still, he’d gotten Sammy out every time he’d asked.
…He missed Norman.
A few Searchers had spawned in the band room once he managed to get the sanctuary open. Although he still froze at their appearance, he tried to keep himself from running off again.
“…Hello…” he said slowly as he descended the stairs. “I’m…sorry I screamed and ran away earlier.”
The Searchers watched him, showing no signs of understanding what he’d said.
“It was…rather rude of me to do that,” he continued. “Especially since you were just trying to comfort me. I…appreciate that you tried.”
Still, the Searchers did nothing, continuing to stare with blank faces.
He sat down on the stairs, scanning the Searchers. Were these people he’d known? Band members? Other composers? He could feel tears welling up in his eyes again at the thought, but he quickly wiped them away.
“I’m…I’m sorry he did this to all of you,” he said. “You…You all deserved better.” If anyone deserved this, it was him. He’d known Joey was going down a dark path. He’d known something was wrong. But he hadn’t done anything.
One of the Searchers touched his leg, making a groaning sound he assumed was probably supposed to be comforting.
“Thank you.” He patted it on the head. “I’ll try to come back to visit, alright?”
The Searchers all seemed to perk up at this prospect, their groans almost sounding happy.
“But first.” He stood up. “I need to say hello to Jack.”
He tried not to pay too much attention to the graffiti on the walls or the strange circle painted on the floor in his sanctuary. He had a horrible feeling that he had been the one to make them, and he did not want to confront that thought at the moment. He just didn’t have the emotional bandwidth.
He just flipped the switch and headed back to the infirmary. The Searchers trailed him like little ducklings, which was honestly a little adorable. They stopped short of actually going down the stairs, though, watching from the landing as he descended.
“Jack?” He called, approaching the area where his friend’s “office” had been. He’d never understood how Jack had managed to stand it down here. Although the smell now wasn’t so bad, it had been unbearable while the studio had been running.
Now, a river of ink flowed in place of what had once been wastewater. Sammy regarded it warily. Buddy had said they had to be careful around large bodies of ink. If they spent too long in the ink it would drag them back. A drop in the ocean is rarely seen again and all that. Sammy didn’t want to risk being dragged back, especially since he didn’t remember the “buzzing well of voices” as Buddy had called it.
“Jack?” He called again. “It’s me. Sammy? I…I wanted to see you.”
There was no answer.
“Jack!” He raised his voice a bit.
Still nothing.
“JACK!” He cupped his hands around his mouth, hoping to amplify his voice further.
Something erupted from the ink, causing Sammy to scream and fall back on the platform. A searcher had emerged from the ink river, much larger and bulkier than the ones Sammy had seen up to this point. And it was wearing a very familiar bowler hat.
“Jack?” Sammy slowly sat up.
The Searcher almost seemed to smile, letting out a groan that almost sounded like Sammy’s name.
“Yes, it’s me.” Sammy nodded. “It’s Sammy Lawrence.”
The Searcher, Jack, made a happy noise, putting a dripping hand on Sammy’s knee.
Sammy couldn’t help but smile. “It’s good to see you too, Jack.”
He didn’t know how long he spent talking to Jack. Time didn’t have much meaning in this place anyway, so it wasn’t like it mattered. He poured out everything he was feeling, all his worries, all his fears, and laid himself bare in front of Jack. He didn’t know if Jack understood what he was saying, but Jack listened. And in the end, that was all Sammy needed. He felt much lighter when he left the Music Department, having unburdened himself of his worries for the moment.
True to his word, he came back whenever he could to visit Jack and the Searchers. Sometimes he talked to them, sometimes he played music. Figuring out how to play the banjo with four fingers was an interesting experience, to say the least. Jack and the Searchers seemed to enjoy his presence, regardless of what he was doing, which did make Sammy feel better about the fact that most of his attempts to play music ended with him swearing and pacing. He tried to ignore the fact that every time he swore it just sounded like a foghorn.
He also ventured down to the Lost Ones to see if he could help them as well. He knew it would be safer not to go looking for them, but he wanted to do something to help them. Was it because he felt guilty that he had an identity and a perfect form while they didn’t? Yes, yes it was. He felt he didn’t deserve such gifts and considered helping the Lost Ones and Searchers his penance.
There wasn’t a whole lot he could do, but he could bring them supplies, he could talk to them, and he could try to play music. And, as it had been with the Searchers, this seemed to be enough. Simply extending a hand and treating them like the people they had once been seemed to be enough.
.
He ran into the woman who had once been Susie Campbell when scavenging for supplies in the Alice Angel meet and greet area.
As he stepped into the room, all the lights abruptly went out. Sammy froze, heart pounding out of his chest as he reached for his ax. The TVs in the room flipped on and clips of Alice Angel began to play as the instrumental for “Lonely Angel” filtered out of the speakers. Then, someone began to sing.
Sammy’s arms dropped to his sides as he inhaled sharply.
“Susie?” He whispered. He didn’t get an answer, not that he was expecting one. She probably couldn’t hear him over the song.
Was it Susie? It had to be. That was her voice. God, that really was her voice.
A wave of emotion crashed over him, almost bringing him to tears as she crooned through the song. He’d forgotten just how much he’d missed her. All he wanted was to throw his arms around her and just hug her tight, apologizing for ignoring how much pain she’d been in after losing her role. He should have stood up to Joey. He should have tried to be there for her.
He shouldn’t have abandoned her.
“Well well well.” That painfully familiar voice echoed from the speakers once the song had ended. “Look what’s wandered into my web. A little lamb.”
“I’m not a lamb,” Sammy snapped back before he could stop himself.
Almost immediately, the playful tone in Susie’s voice vanished. “You should watch your tone, little lamb. You’re in no position to be giving orders.”
Sammy flinched, drawing into himself. “I’m...sorry. I shouldn’t have snapped.”
“Sammy Lawrence apologizing? Now that’s something I never thought I’d hear.” The venom in her voice wasn’t lost on Sammy.
“I’m…trying to be better,” he said, looking around the room to see where she could be. “I know I’ve done wrong by a lot of people, especially you. I’m so sorry Sus-”
Before he could finish saying her name, he was cut off by a piercing shriek from the speakers, causing him to cover his ears at the squealing feedback.
“DON’T YOU DARE SPEAK THAT NAME!” She screamed. “I’M ALICE ANGEL! DO YOU HEAR ME?! I WON’T LET YOU TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME! NOT AGAIN!”
“Alright! Alright!” Sammy yelled back. “I’m sorry!”
“Good.” She sounded a bit out of breath. “Now. What brings such a …perfect toon specimen to my domain?”
Sammy didn’t like the way she’d paused before saying “perfect”. He didn’t know why that was so important to her and he didn’t think he wanted to.
“Supplies,” he answered slowly.
“I see. Well, I’m sure I could share some supplies with you, if you’d like.” ‘Alice’ purred.
“What’s the catch?”
There was a pause. “Pardon?”
“What’s the catch?” Sammy repeated. “I know how this works. Nothing’s ever just free here. There’s always a catch.”
“Why Sammy!” ‘Alice’ put on her most offended tone of voice. “Do you really think an angel would turn away a soul in need?”
No, but you’re not an angel, Sammy thought to himself. Certainly not anymore.
“I…suppose you’re right,” he tentatively replied.
“Of course I am,” ‘Alice’ said with a triumphant little ‘hm’. “Now, just take the elevator down to my level. It’s level 9. Just follow the screams~” Then the speakers clicked off.
Sammy couldn’t help but groan. “Just follow the screams she says. That’s not ominous at all.”
Still, he trudged through the doorway to the left, navigating the rooms and hallways beyond until he reached the area where the elevator was. He very much did not want to take the elevator (he remembered what Tom had said about the thing being dangerous) but it was probably safer than the stairs. So, the elevator it was.
He tried to calm his pounding heart as he stepped inside and pressed the button for level 9. Part of it was fear of an unknown area and part of it was knowing that this had to be a trap. Susie, no, ‘Alice’s’ mood had shifted so quickly that there was no way she was genuinely doing this out of the goodness of her heart. She had some ulterior motive. He was sure of it.
But he still wanted to see her.
Level 9 seemed safe enough once the elevator stopped. A few Searchers popped up on his way to the doors under the enormous Alice face, but they didn’t attack. And they weren’t anything he hadn’t encountered on other levels. The doors hissed open as he approached, which did nothing to help his nerves.
He stopped just short of entering, his whole body tensed. Was he really sure he wanted to do this? He knew it was a trap. Was seeing Susie worth it?
“Don’t be shy,” ‘Alice’ cooed. “Come in. You want those supplies, don’t you?”
Sammy let out a small whimper and took a deep breath. Too late to back out now. Then, he stepped inside.
He regretted it as soon as he came out into the large open room beyond the little entrance hallway. He stumbled back at the sight of all the gutted toons. Borises and Butcher Gang members were strapped to planks all over the room, their eyes cartoon x’s and their chests ripped open.
“What’s wrong?” ‘Alice’ asked innocently.
“What…What have you been doing?” Sammy whispered, taking a step back.
“I needed their insides to make me perfect,” ‘Alice’ replied, as though this were completely normal. “But they didn’t give me what I needed.”
Sammy felt a lump beginning to develop in his stomach. He felt very much like a fly that had just walked into a spider’s web.
“Now, just come across and I’ll get you those supplies,” ‘Alice’ continued.
Sammy did not come across. He ran out of the room, sprinting back toward the elevator.
“COME BACK HERE!” ‘Alice’ howled over the speakers, all pleasantries now gone. “I NEED TO BE PERFECT AGAIN! YOU OWE ME, SAMMY! YOU OWE ME MY PERFECTION!”
He frantically jabbed at the elevator button, muttering “come on come on” and watching the doors leading to ‘Alice’s’ lair. The doors began to close just as ‘Alice’ appeared in the doorway. He breathed a sigh of relief once it began to move upward, taking him away from the rapidly approaching woman.
He didn’t fully let himself relax, though, until he was safely back in the Heavenly Toys area. He went into one of the Little Miracle stations, hugged his knees, and began to cry. He didn’t leave until he was sure he could make it back to the safe house without breaking down into tears again.
Buddy explained to him once he got back that ‘Alice’ collected hearts from the various ink creatures to “make herself perfect”. She was especially interested in the hearts of what she deemed “perfect” ink creatures. Perfect…like him and Sammy. Sammy understood now that she was where the dead Borises had been coming from.
He avoided ‘Alice’s’ area as much as he could after that.
.
He avoided the Projectionist’s area too. For different reasons, though.
The Projectionist lacked the intelligence of ‘Alice’ or the Ink Demon, behaving more like the Butcher Gang clones that would attack on sight. He was a foe that could not be reasoned with, could not be talked down. And, unlike the Butcher Gang clones, he was tall and strong. All and all, not a foe Sammy wanted to face, especially since his new toon physiology made surviving in a fight incredibly difficult due to its tendency to force him to act out gags.
Not to mention…Sammy didn’t want to see what the studio had reduced Norman to. He and Norman had never gotten along, but he’d respected the projectionist. If there had been anyone who needed a shoulder to cry on, Norman had been that shoulder. Everyone knew Norman would keep your secrets. And if you were hiding something that could hurt people? Well, Norman would keep that secret too. But you always remembered he could expose you at any moment. Norman had been a formidable player in the game of secrets and subterfuge that had defined the studio in its later years.
To see such a clever and capable man reduced to little more than a mindless beast didn’t sit right with Sammy.
.
He didn’t interact with Allison and Tom much.
He saw them around the studio occasionally, scavenging for supplies in the same places as him, but their interactions were limited to an awkward greeting (usually from Allison) or a nod of acknowledgment.
The first time they’d run into each other had been on level S, just outside the Archives. Allison and Tom had been coming across the chasm in the little boat while Sammy had been inspecting one of the ink vending machines, wondering if he could get soup out of it.
Somehow, Sammy hadn’t noticed the boat drawing closer, unaware anyone else was there until he heard Allison call out to him.
“Are you trying to get something from there?”
He wasn’t proud of it, but he’d let out a scream and stumbled back, hitting his head against the rock wall behind him in the process. Damn his new toon instincts.
The strange woman stifled a laugh, hiding her smile behind her hand as the boat docked. “Are you alright?”
“I’m...alright,” Sammy said slowly.
As he recovered, he took in the appearance of the strangers in the boat. The woman’s appearance set him on edge. She was clearly an Alice, and his last encounter with an Alice hadn’t ended well. With her was a Boris with a mechanical arm and a sour expression.
As soon as the Boris heard Sammy’s voice, his ears went back and he began to growl.
“Tom!” The woman chided him, swatting his shoulder. “Be nice.” Even as she did this, though, Sammy saw a flicker of doubt in her eyes.
Sammy had been a bit confused by the immediate hostility, but hearing the strange Boris being called Tom explained everything. He didn’t blame the mechanic for his reaction. They hadn’t exactly had the best relationship while the studio had been running. Due in no small part to Sammy’s behavior.
And if the Boris was Connor, that meant the Alice had to be Allison.
“It’s fine. I should probably be going anyway,” Sammy said, turning to leave.
“Are you sure?” Allison asked, her gaze darting from Tom to Sammy. “It would be nice to have some backup when we head up to the Heavenly Toys.”
“I don’t think your friend wants me around.” Sammy gestured to Tom.
“Well, Tom doesn’t like a lot of people,” Allison replied. “It really would be nice to have another ally in general.”
Did she sound desperate or was it just him? It was probably just him. Bit rude of her to just brush off Tom’s feelings, though.
“Your friend doesn’t like me for a reason. Listen to him.”
And with that, Sammy departed.
He tried to deliberately avoid them after that, mostly out of courtesy for Tom.
Given Tom’s reaction, he definitely remembered who Sammy was and what his life had been before he’d ended up in this hellscape. Which meant he’d probably keep being hostile to Sammy. As such, it was easier to just avoid him to avoid conflict. Best not to open up old wounds while survival was at stake.
Allison was polite and friendly, as she always had been. Sammy could feel her disappointment every time they encountered each other and he brushed her off. He didn’t understand why she was so desperate to make him an ally. Was it because he hadn’t been overtly hostile toward them and still seemed for the most part in his right mind? Was she truly that desperate for another ally that she would want to willingly associate with him? Despite Tom’s clear distaste?
A part of him respected her relentless optimism, even in the face of such a horrifying ordeal. A bigger part thought she was going to get herself hurt.
In the end, their groups just ended up avoiding each other, an arrangement Tom seemed more than happy with.
.
And this was how Sammy’s life went.
He scavenged for supplies. He spent time with Buddy in the safe house. He visited Jack, the Searchers, and the Lost Ones. He tried to learn how to play music again.
He survived.
This was how it went.
Until the day Henry Stein stepped foot in the studio once more.
