I'm a sucker for a good rivals who fuck trope. Can you write that with Kaeya, Diluc, Itto, Chide, Dottore and Arlecchino?
A good trope and you have good taste in evil women. You have my respect Anon.
Pairing: Kaeya, Diluc, Itto, Childe, Dottore, Arlecchino x Fem!Reader
Tags: nsfw, smut, rivals to lovers, angry sex, hate sex, making out, rough sex, biting, marking
A/N: I don't get to write about Arlecchino often, unless its Arlebina content lol.
Kaeya hates having to work with you but it's part of his job so he'll tolerate it. Your only saving grace is that you're really nice to look at and banter with when he needs to let out some steam. He would never admit this but he loves it when you fire back at him, when you push against his orders and challenge him, when you refuse to call him Captain because you think you can do a better job. With that kind of attitude it's easy to see why you're such a fun time in bed, you refuse to be on your back for him, you refuse to admit his cock is better then anyone else's, so he has to prove it by making you have a nearly endless string of orgasms.
Diluc sees you every night on patrol and every night it's the same race to the crime scene, the banter and the bickering that only stops when you're fighting the bad guys or when you're pulling each other's pants and underwear off in a dark alleyway. You don't know each other's real names yet you both want to moan them as you ride his cock, your hands in his hair, daring him to slip up and reveal himself to you. Do you take him for an amateur who would give it all up for a cunt around his dick? Fuck you. No, he will fuck you, until you can't stand and you finally admit that he's the better hero, that's he's finally beaten you. Never mind the fact that in the thorns of your orgasm he thinks he almost hears his name, only to be met with a sharp pain from your teeth biting against his shoulder.
Itto loves getting on your nerves like no one else. One of his favorite things to do is to make you angry. Why? Because sex is so much fun that way. He will never walk up to you and kiss you, or tell you he wants to fuck, no he will do everything in his power to rile you up until you're fuming and then he will kindly offer to fuck that anger out. You know what he's doing, you've known for a long time but you can't resist that huge cock of his, or that shining smile if you were honest. Just when he thinks he's got you submitted to him, on your back for him you'll pull him down, ask him if that's all he's got? If you don't leave this fucking session marked up by him then he's starting to slip up. Him? Itto? Never. You want marks? He'll give them to you, all over your body.
Childe has been your rival for as long as you could remember being part of the Fatui. Since day one you've butted heads with him and his stubborn ways. It's like he's always looking for a fight, regardless if he can win it. You're more then happy to spar with him and teach him some humility. Although lately all your sparing sessions end up the same, with a bet, and the loser giving the winner what they want. It's always the same thing. Sex. Hot, dirty, rough sex to release the adrenaline of the earlier fight. Even the sex is a competition with him, who will come first, who will give who more orgasms, who will hold out the longest without moaning the other's name. It's all a competition, and you're both winners.
Dottore ignores you for the most part when he's not fucking you because quite frankly he doesn't think you're worth wasting his precious time on. He's so arrogant and acts so high and mighty that you can't help but shove all your research in his face. The only indicator that he thinks it's impressive is him fucking you after reading it. It's infuriating that you can never get him to admit when he's impressed by your own genius. But his cock is the next best thing, that and the angry kisses you pull him in every time he starts to monologue about how great his new discovery was while completely ignoring yours.
Arlecchino only talks to you if she needs you to do something for her. Otherwise she would be perfectly happy never seeing you. Yeah, she doesn't need you around if you're not useful. It's adorable that you think that you're more important then her. A lowrank like you. No matter what you achieve you'll only ever be good on your knees and you know it. See, this is why she doesn't like working with you, you're so confrontational when all she wants is some obedience. But she has her ways of making you submit. You're the whole reason why she's almost always packing that strap-on in her pants, you and that sweet pussy of yours, in need of showing it who is really in charge.

She’s Confident
Tumblr media
She’s Confident (Diluc x Reader)
Summary: Being an Imunlaukr, you were destined to travel and discover many things all around Teyvat. Even if being the lover of the uncrowned king of Mondstadt, who owns the famous winery and tavern inside the nation of freedom, you didn't stop traveling. Now that you're back from your recent travel, you wanted to taunt your boyfriend and probably show him your hidden bold attitude that is only for him to see.
Warnings: Oral, Teasing, Smut, Breeding, Impreg
Note/s: Minors DNI. I cross-posted this fic on Ao3 so if you also found it in there, don't worry. I need more Diluc fics so I wrote one and decided to share it with y'all Diluc simps. Enjoy!
Artwork: eriimyon in Twitter
The tension between the new honorary knight and the former cavalry captain in a room full of the Knights of Favonius is palpable. Very. Noticeable.
Perhaps they all know the history between the two hence no one ever dares speak up. An Imunlaukr from the clan of the grandmaster Varka and the son of Master Crepus Ragnvindr. Who would dare speak in front of them?
Except, of course, the cunning cavalry captain of the Knights of Favonius. Kaeya.
"I think it is better to sit shoulder-to-shoulder rather than facing each other. Isn't it Diluc?"
The redhead hissed, straightened up on his seat, and crossed his arms on his chest, enunciating through his actions that he is not interested in what his brother has said just a moment ago. He simply did not care and continued to stare into your azure orbs. Those blue-like ocean eyes that successfully captured his flaming ones.
Sensing how the other knights exchanged looks as if being able to communicate with just their eyes, you stood up and walked around the room to sit beside the uncrowned king of Mondstadt.
You looked over your shoulder and saw a surprised-looking knight. He seems new and shy. You could quite see that he was amazed. Mesmerized, even. A beauty like you, coming from the Imunlaukr clan with impressive combat skills and was gifted with a cryo vision matching perfectly to your blue eyes, who would not be captivated by your existence?
Glancing to your right, you saw how Diluc stilled and stared blankly in front of him, where you once seated. You smirked and looked at Kaeya, urging him to start the meeting he so-called important to the point where it needs the help of the two respected nobles of Mondstadt.
Kaeya didn't hide his smirk as he started briefing all of the people inside the room about the sightings of suspicious members of the Fatui outside the borders of Mondstadt and how the Liyue Qixing also wants to cooperate with this mission since there are also sights near Stone Gate, Liyue.
You understood how this is an important matter, for the safety of the citizens of Mondstadt is on the line. However, the man beside you once again hissed.
"Knights of Favonius, always so inefficient. Couldn't even handle matters like this alone." He said while staring directly at the cavalry captain in the center of the room.
The other knights averted their eyes on Diluc and looked down on their laps, feeling ashamed and guilty, partly because it is quite true. Something inside you was triggered and you directed your look to the redhead which caused him to look back into you.
"You can always back down, Diluc. You are not in debt to always cooperate in situations like this. After all, you are not part of the Knights of Favonius, aren't you?"
The room was quiet and an amused man was smiling boldly in the center of the room, enjoying the little show in front of him. But before everything reach its climax you stood up and excused yourself for you already know the details of the meeting.
"I'll be off now. If anyone needs something from me, I am just sheathing my claymore" you looked discreetly at Diluc, "at the practice grounds." You turned the knob and left the room with Diluc slightly shaking his head and Kaeya who is ready to irritate his brother more.
---
You saw Diluc leaving the headquarters and surmised that he is heading to Angel's Shares. You shook your head as you still couldn't fathom why the man owns a winery and tends the bar full of booze when he despises alcohol and is deeply in love with grape juice.
Picking up your claymore, you placed it back on the armory together with the other weapons exclusively for nobles like you and made your way to the tavern.
Why?
"Because I want to." You answered yourself while painting a smirk on your face.
While on your way, a hand was placed around your waist making you gasp and hold your tracks in front of little Flora's flower shop. Good thing it was almost dawn and the child is surprisingly not tending her shop at the moment.
"An Imunlaukr following a Ragnvindr, hm?" He tightens his hold on your waist, your chests now inch apart from each other. "Perhaps you need something from an ex-Knights of Favonius captain, honorary knight." He said staring directly into your orbs.
If it wasn't for the fact that you were both out in the open, you would gladly melt under his crimson eyes. But you were completely aware of your surroundings. You could feel the stares of a woman just above flora's shop. Quickly glancing in her direction, you saw the horror in her eyes and the way her hands slowly creep on her mouth as if suppressing silent sobs.
This is interesting.
Being aware that the woman's eyes are still locked in your position, you placed both of your arms around Diluc's neck and gently pulled him down to your height, making him bend slightly.
"Why don't we continue this inside your tavern, Diluc. I hate having an audience for private matters like this." You saw flames in his eyes like you've ignited something inside him. Moreover, you saw how the woman averted her gaze into you. She heard it. Definitely.
Diluc removed his arm on your waist and made his way back to his tavern. You hissed. This man never changes. But you followed him nonetheless.
When you entered the tavern you were surprised that it is empty. Considering the time, it's the hour that the tavern is supposedly packed with customers and bards. As if he has read your thoughts, Diluc answered. "The tavern is closed for today if that's what you're wondering. But I know that you heard it somewhere and to someone that we're closed for today, yet you still made your way here. So I supposed you're not here for the wine." He said while wiping mugs behind the bar.
Walking over to him, you settled on one of the seats in front of him and placed both of your elbows on the bar, plastering a smile on your face.
"I'm here for my welcome back greetings." You said while watching him. "And probably for some, 'I missed you', words as well." You still watched him and saw that he is not bothered by your words, he just continued wiping noticeably clean beer mugs. Placing your hands under your chin to support your face, you said,
"Or a kiss from you, perhaps?"
Sounds of clanking of mugs that fell on the floor were heard inside the tavern and a pair of crimson eyes were darted into your azure ones. He stopped wiping mugs and placed his hands on the edge of the bar to support himself, completely disregarding the scattered mugs on the floor.
His stares are of those like predators' look on their prey. You're sensing he got something up on his sleeves and you're not someone who backs out easily. Breaking the game of staring, you inched a little closer to him, being careful not to fall on your chair. But you saw him leave his position and slowly made his way around the bar. You followed his movements and your back is now facing his previous spot.
Diluc is now in front of you, caging you between the bar and his arms. His face is dangerously close to yours. The edge of the bar is digging behind your back, but you did not care and focused on the piece of art standing in front of you.
"Look who needs something from me, former cavalry captain of the Knights of Favonius. You said it yourself, hm?" He said and you felt shivers run down your spine.
You smirked.
"I didn't know that you hold grudges for small things like that, Diluc. I am surprised." You snickered. "After being with you for all these years, it just so happens that I only knew this trait of yours." You placed a hand on his chest.
"Is it because of how I travel? Maybe I'm traveling too much to the point of almost ignoring you."
You saw the protruding veins in his jaw. He is provoked. You internally praised yourself for making him like this.
He removed his hand on the edge of the bar and placed it on your waist while his other hand supports his body against yours. You felt him grip your side a little too tight. Maybe you're doing this a little too much for him. But you didn't care. You also like him this way.
"You changed your hair color." He said while burning his gaze into yours. "Why?"
Your previous hair color was dark brown. Your recent travel required you to change it so you colored it to ash gray. It still made you beautiful. More mesmerizing.
"Do you not like it? I could change it back for you." You said while slowly rubbing your hand on his chest.
He looked at your hand for a second and came back into your eyes. "I love it."
"Now, pick among the three." He said while smirking.
You were confused and he saw it too. "A welcome greeting, an I missed you, or..." He leaned in at your ear,
"a hot kiss from me."
He backed away from your ear and faced you once again, waiting for your answer. His eyes burning with what you could see and very well know.
Lust.
You didn't break the stare as you said your answer. "The latter."
Diluc leaned in and caught your bottom lip between his. Slightly sucking it before giving you a sloppy yet hot kiss. His hand slipped under your tight shirt, gripping and massaging your waist slightly. Your hands are now around his neck as he ravished your lips. He bit your lip and you moaned as his tongue met yours. "I fucking missed you." He said between your kisses.
The sound of wet kisses and muffled moans filled the whole tavern. You already started thinking that he did close the tavern on purpose for your arrival, but you were averted from your thoughts as he pressed his bulging erection on your thighs. You giggled between your kisses and one of your hands slowly made its way to cup his erection.
"Ah, baby," Diluc moaned parting from your lips as you slowly rub his member. Feeling how it begs to be free from his restricting pants. He finds it so hot seeing you rub your hand on his filthy cock. Slipping your hand inside his pants, you grabbed his member and slowly releasing it free from its cage. You felt proud of yourself seeing how you made Diluc all worked up.
You left your seat and situated yourself kneeling in front of his mad erection. All for you.
You pumped it several times before slowly and teasingly licking his tip already filled with pre-cum. "Ah. Baby, stop teasing." He said while running his hand on your hair.
You grabbed his balls as you took his cock in your mouth. Taking him and moaning while his cock slides in and out of your mouth. You pumped the remaining parts of his shaft that didn't fit in your mouth and you could sense that he is close to coming. Diluc was panting as you continuously blow him off, guiding your head with his hand. You intentionally ground your teeth on his cock and you felt him squirmed from pleasure.
"If you keep on doing that I might come right now, baby." He pleads. You continued sucking his cock like a popsicle until he finally came and filled your mouth. "I'm hard again just by seeing you swallow my semen, baby."
You moaned. "Then I might just suck you off again, hm." You said palming his still erect cock.
Diluc pulled you from the floor and positioned you on top of the bar. Parting your legs and settling his body between your thighs. He slowly palmed your clothed clit. "You're wet down here, hm."
He stripped you from your bottom garments and only left bare only for him to see and... taste.
Your head fell back and moans left your mouth as he eats you out like a predator. He licks, kisses, and tongue-fucks your pussy. After ravishing your mound with his mouth, Diluc inserted a finger in your opening and slowly pumps it in your hole while he's busy playing with your clit.
"Ah, Diluc... Add another in there, baby. Please." You grabbed his red hair tightly as he added another finger and this time it wasn't slow.
You heard him grunt and it vibrated to your pussy making you moan louder. His other hand snaked around your back to push your hips even more on his face.
"I fucking missed the taste of this pussy too." He said while adding another finger and continue eating your clit. You were shaking from too much pleasure but you didn't mind.
When his fingers found your g-spot, you couldn't hold it in any longer and came right in front of his face.
A moan escaped your mouth as he licked you off clean. You didn't have time to calm down as he grabbed your waist and carried you to one of the tables inside the tavern.
"I can't wait to fuck you, baby. I need you right now." He said while laying down on the hard surface. You didn't mind the discomfort as long as you're with him.
Diluc pumped his cock slowly as he watches you being impatient and desperately wants to be filled.
"Diluc stop teasing me and put it in me already." You said while massaging your breasts. He caught you off-guard when he suddenly slid it in you. Hard.
He pounded you like he never saw you for a year. When in reality, it was only for 2 weeks. Loud moans escaped from your mouth as he continuously hit your spot.
Diluc hoisted your legs up on his shoulders and fucks you deeper. A growl escaping his mouth. "Fuck, you're so tight and hot, baby. Fucking you still feels like the first time. Ah."
He leaned in and gave you sloppy kisses as he fucks the life out of you. "Want me to breed you, baby?" He said between thrusts and kisses. "Make you a Ragnvindr and mark you so no one could have you except me, hm?"
You couldn't form words from the pleasure he's giving you. You could tell that the table you're lying on will be destroyed moments from now. The idea of bearing a child of Diluc in you made you feel so hot and even more turned on.
You ground on him in sync with his thrusts. "Ah, Diluc. Yes!"
You were almost there but he slides out of you and picked you up from the table. You almost snapped from the lack of his cock in your mound, but when he placed you in front of the wall, hoisted your leg on his arm then quickly penetrated your pussy from behind, another set of loud moans escaped your mouth.
He moaned as he felt your hole clenching his cock between his heavy thrusts. Every time he thrusts it out, your pussy pulls it back in.
His other hand crept under you and rubs your clit fast, overstimulating you. "Come for me, baby. Let me fill you with my semen. I'll fucking put a baby in you."
"Ah, yes! Give it to me, baby." You said as you felt your release coming the same time he came inside you. A grunt left Diluc's mouth as his semen floods into you.
He stilled and moaned as you slowly pumped his cock back in your pussy, helping him cream your mound. "Don't want your release to come to waste." You giggled.
Diluc didn't let go of you as he very well knows you'd fall if he does. He situated you in one of the seats that have a cushion so that you'll be more comfortable after an intense fucking inside his tavern.
He grabbed tissues behind the bar and went directly to your position and slowly cleaned off the excess cum on your thighs. He helped you put back your clothes on and did the same to himself.
After a few moments, he just stared at you like you're the only woman in Teyvat. His woman.
"So, how did the ex-Knights of Favonius satisfy the honorary knight, hm?" He asked, crossing his arms on his firm chest.
You looked up to him and a smirk formed on your lips.
"Well, he did great. Very. Great. Perhaps, the other way to get railed like this again is by officially joining the Knights of Favonius." You said with a smirk on your face.
Diluc raised an eyebrow. "I hate the Knights."
You grabbed his arms and made him wrap them around your waist. You carefully stood up from your seat as your mound is still sore and you put a chaste kiss on his lips.
"But I like it when you're mad at me." You placed another kiss on his lips. "You wanna know why, hm?"
Diluc kissed you back as an answer. His tongue seeking entrance in your mouth.
"Because you fuck me harder when you're mad." You said between his kisses.
He guided your hand on his pants and a gasp left your mouth in his kisses when you felt him hard again. He parted his lips from you and whispered in your ears.
"I can't hate you, love. But I can make you suffer in bed later."
You're anticipating that 'later' in bed at home.
End.

Do you know any romance tropes :0 ?
It's like childhood friends , enemy to lovers , etc .
Can you do those for some the boys , you can pick which ones but can you include Xiao in there please ? Thank you so much in advance !
As Romance Tropes
Characters: Childe, Albedo, Diluc, Kaeya, Zhongli, Xiao, Venti
Warnings: None
Notes: Aaaaaaa I love this so much, I hope you like it ! ヽ(‘ ∇‘ )ノ
-
- Childe
Enemies to lovers, you're both on opposing sides fighting for opposite causes. It started with battles between the two, fighting with all wits and skills. Every week you find yourself sparring with the Fatui Harbinger aiming to beat the other and every week you find yourself growing enthralled by him. Childe always kept you on your toes, testing your limits and giving you a thrill whenever you fought. It's strange, you're supposed to hate him, so why do you miss him so much?
Opposites attract, you both having nothing in common, your personalities reflect each other like a mirror. Complete opposites. He's a cunning man not afraid to test his limits, you're a shy and timid person keeping to yourself. You both meet by chance and it becomes a wild goose chase from there.
- Albedo
Stuck together, you both prepared for the journey to dragonspine, but despite how much you prepared you weren't ready to find yourselves stuck in a cave. It'll be hours until a rescue party retrieves you and the only things you got are food, sleeping bags, and each other. With each hour that passes, Albedo becomes more curious of you. As for yourself, you start to uncover more about the mysterious Albedo, breaking away his stoic walls. Perhaps being stuck in a cave isn't that bad after all
Secret Billionaire, Albedo dislikes being treated as high and mighty, becoming pestered with the never-ending questions of his findings as an Alchemist. He goes out in secret and meets you by chance. You treat him like any other normal person, oblivious to his high status. Albedo felt like himself around you, so he kept you close without revealing his true identity. What will happen once you figure out he was the Billionaire Alchemist who changed the world with his research?
- Diluc
Friends to lovers, you've known each other since you were children. Both of you went through hell and back, dealing with the mishaps life threw at you. You could always rely on the other and have seen each other at your lowest points. After the death of his father, Diluc felt as if you're the only one who understood him. He was your closest friend and you to him. It was an unbreakable bond- But what will happen after one of you catches feelings?
Coffee Shop au, set in a modern au. Diluc Ragnvindr was known as being one of the greatest baristas in the city of Mondstadt. Many people enter his shop every day to get a taste of his signature coffee. One day, you entered the coffee shop for the very first time. He could feel his heart suddenly flutter as you ordered- everything about you captivated him. You became a regular and the more times you visit the more Diluc starts to harbor feelings. You're his number one favorite customer, hoping for the day he could finally talk to you without being behind the counter.
- Kaeya
Drunk Confession, you both head to the tavern after a successful mission. Drink after drink your brains started to grow foggy and your ability to think was hindered. Kaeya finished up the last of his drink, his attention turning back to you. With no hesitation, words rambled from his mouth, words that caused your heart to skip a beat. He had just confessed his true feelings for you and your emotions are buzzing around along with the alcohol. The question still stands; what will happen when you're both sober?
Fake Relationship, it was a game, nothing more than two friends pretending to be each other's partners. Kaeya acted as your boyfriend, and you played along with your part, no true feeling being harbored. But as more time passes playing the false narrative, it starts to toy with your real emotions. What's this warm feeling in your chest? It's just a game. Right….?
- Zhongli
Secret Billionaire, in an au where Archons don't need to beg the traveler for money. Zhongli was known as a consultant for the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor with a keen understanding of history. To the public eye, he seemed normal. One day you commissioned him to aid you in a mission requiring his historical knowledge. You both clicked immediately. You became infatuated by his tellings of history, while Zhongli felt at peace whenever he was with you. You became good friends, even sparking a relationship. But what happens when you learn that the consultant from Wangsheng Funeral Parlor was actually the Billionaire archo, Morax?
Forbidden Love, Zhongli knew the consequences that would follow if he allowed his heart to be taken by a mortal human. The heartache and loss that will ensued if he weren't careful. The archon always had his heart closed away from mortals, never allowing himself to grow too attached. That was until he met you, and he let his guard slip. Before he knew, he had fallen for you. Despite how much his heart yearned to be with you, he knew it would only result in heartache. If only he wasn't cursed
- Xiao
Mutual Pining, you and Xiao are crushing on each other. Though you both full heartily believed the other wasn't interested. Due to Xiao's rough and cold exterior, it was easily thought he had no interest in anyone. Whilst for him, he believed that no one would ever love the monster he claims to be. It's a confusing and frustrating experience as you both battle with your emotions. Will someone ever confess or forever live in ignorance as your hearts continue to beat for each other?
Soulmates, you were destined to be together. But Xiao didn't want it, he would much rather be alone. Meanwhile, you had just found out that out of the billions you could have matched with, you were fated with someone who didn't even want your love. But who is one to play with fate? After many frustrations, long and painful buildups of trust, you soon learn that out of the billions, you two are the only ones who make each other whole.
- Venti
Love at First Sight, it must have been fate. You never believed in love at first sight, it easily made you laugh. And yet there you stood as you locked eyes with his green-blue ones for the first time, your heart skipping a beat. As for Venti, he felt as if his world froze the moment his eyes landed on yours. The only sound he could hear was the drumming rhythm of his heart. In an instant, you both knew you were in love.
Forbidden Love, another curse of being an archon. Venti has already experienced the pain of loss firsthand, he wishes to never bear it again. Even when first meeting you, he was cautious, careful to not allow his heart to be broken again. But you were different, and Venti wanted to be with you. He tried his hardest to push aside those feelings, but every time he sees your smile he's falling for you all over again. Perhaps in another life, he'll be able to experience love.

Xiao and Diluc: Opposites Attract HCs
Tumblr media
Xiao
It occurs to Xiao one day that despite being alive for centuries, he doesn’t know a lot of people. Xiao has only known Rex Lapis and his fellow adepti and only just recently introduced this life to others such as Verr and Ming. It never bothered him and still doesn’t, he prefers his life to be peaceful and in solitude since it’s safer that way, but when you crash into his life with all your unrestrained energy. He’s a bit of a loss for words. The only other person he knows that acts similar is Guizhong, but it’s still a bit of a troubling memory but either then that, he’s never interacted with someone so...open with their feelings. Though he supposes that Hu Tao was somewhat similar but in a different way. Unlike the craziness and exasperated actions that Hu Tao brought, your presence was a breath of fresh air and sometimes he found himself caught up in your antics.
When Xiao thinks about it, if he were to ever find love he suspected he would prefer someone who was calm and independent. He wasn’t the most affectionate so he wouldn’t want a partner that relied on that and he liked the peace and quiet the inn provided. That was until he saved you one day and you felt it was your absolute responsibility to return the favour, even though he told you many times that you really did not need to. If you wanted to return the favour you could leave him alone. Simple as that. Which didn’t work and in hindsight he was glad you were so stubborn to hang around until you managed to find out his favourite food was almond tofu.
The moment that set in stone Xiao’s love for you is when he told you his past. When he was named Atalus. How he had been possessed and forced to kill against his will. How he devoured dreams and lived in agony before he was saved by Rex Lapis. He was scared that you would fear and leave him, only for you to slowly lace your hands with his and wept for his own misfortune. He’s never had someone cry for him and he realized that he never wanted to see you upset like this again.
At first your larger than life personality put him off a bit, how could someone run through life as if nothing was wrong? What would happen if you finally faced loss? Wouldn’t that make things worse? It wasn’t until he spent more time with you that he saw your point of view, that while he couldn’t adopt the same idea, he respected it and began to appreciate it. It was nice having some sort of solace in his day even if it was just for a few minutes. Something to get his mind of the darker things while you start chatting about this really nice old lady with a domain sized teapot.
Though, there was a bit of a downside to this. Since you bared your heart on your sleeve, perhaps in Mondstadt it would seem normal but here in Liyue, everyone hid behind some kind of mask so people found you a bit naïve and would try and hassle you. It always sent Xiao into a worried state when you left the inn to go out on your next adventure. Verr likes to compare him to a cat waiting for it’s owner at the door, but as soon as they return he acts so moody as if he wasn’t waiting at the balcony trying to see if he could see your clothing peak over the hill. He has no idea how she comes up with these ridiculous ideas.
Another “downside” Xiao discovers is that you have mini bursts of affection. You describe it as a those anemo slimes that pop when you shoot them, morbid as that description is, you’re not wrong. Your bursts of affection always manage to startle and embarrass Xiao, especially when he was with others. He wasn’t going to tell you to change yourself, never will he do that, but when you clasp his hands and tell him with all your love and shining eyes that he’s “doing such a good job” and “you’re so proud of him”. He wants to melt because wow, he never noticed how much he values your praise and how it sends his heart flying. But he can’t because Childe and Zhongli are right there.
Zhongli smiles pleasantly while Childe looses his absolute shit, which causes Xiao to kick his spear at Childe because he refuses to let go of your hands and hisses at him. Even when you try and scold him it doesn’t last long because this has become a weekly occurrence. Only now Xiao will give you a quick kiss before he goes off to gut Childe while you and Zhongli wave pleasantly and talk about how the weather is faring. Everyone that isn’t a native to Liyue think’s you’re all insane as they hear Childe’s screams as Xiao attempts first degree murder.
It interesting to see you both interact to outsiders. Xiao has his piercing yellow eyes and reserved demeanor while you’re this sweet and bright person. Before Xiao met you, people could never get a good look at the mysterious man that stays in the top balcony of the Wangshu Inn. But now if they came at the right time, they could spot a soft smiled man in green listening to a very animated talk with someone else, using their hands with a dramatic flair. That is until the man notices them trying to eavesdrop and the softness in his eyes drops and goes to irritation as he glares at them, curling a hand around his partner’s waist, and he let’s off a warning growl. His partner never seems bothered, only turning around to give a small wave in greeting, smiling as if the dangerous aura radiating behind them didn’t exist, before giving the man a small kiss as they go back to their conversation.
While you live a larger than life way, you also enjoy the small moments with Xiao. Xiao prefers to spend his time sitting above the inn and overlooking Liyue which you enjoy too. Resting near each other as you watch the sun go down is calming and takes the stress of life away. But sometimes you just want to bring Xiao out and have some fun.
Which ends up with you dragging him off to the pond near the Wangshuu inn, you wanted to catch frogs for whatever reason. Weren’t you both a bit too old to be playing with frogs? But he stands by and watch's you chase around the poor animals, tracking mud all over your clothing and skin, he can’t help but let a small smile slip. It isn’t until you end up falling into the pond after slipping that he’s on alert mode that he runs over worried.
Only for you to pop up and start bursting out into laughter. Xiao is stunned for a few moment as he watches you laugh at your own mistake, mud scrapped all over your face and clothes, the fact that you’re still in the pond with a frog on your head. He can’t help but feel his face fall as his mouth twitches into a smile as he chuckles along with you. He reaches over to try and scrub the dirt off your face but it only ends up smearing it more but you appreciate the effort. He carefully lifts you up as he carries you back to the inn. He thinks back to when you both first met, how he spent so much time worrying over his life as an adeptis and you as a human, but now those thoughts have been flung out of his mind. He wants to take your approach, that why worry over the little details of the future when you can enjoy the bigger moments you have now.

Diluc
On days that Diluc works as the bartender for Angel Share, if you come at just the right time when the sun was still high in the sky, you might be able to catch the ever distant man smiling and engaged with a conversation with one specific patron. Of course, this silly “rumour” was made up by the ladies of Mondstadt with too much free time on their hands but given Diluc’s reputation and demeanor it did make some travelers curious. Only for them to write it off as this special patron to be a green bard or cunning captain. One that Diluc surely did not crack a smile at. In fact it seemed to be the opposite. But the tavern isn’t so bad, there’s this nice individual that will listen to all your sorrows with kind eyes and a gentle heart.
As soon as the last customer leaves and Diluc locks the door, does he let his shoulder drop and he breathes a sigh of relief. Before turning and walking to you as he let’s himself relax in your embrace. He listens as you re-tell on the woes of a jewelry saleswoman from Liyue to how Venti is still getting ID checked at the Cat’s Tail as he basks in your warmth. He’s glad that this is what’s troubling the people of Mondstadt and not anything incredibly dangerous relating to the Fatui or the Abyss Order. He asks if you’re doing alright to which you grin and nod that everything was perfect, before placing a small kiss on your forehead and he leads you out back and into the night and ready to return home.
Kaeya finds a lot of enjoyment going to up to you and discussing his “concerns” about Diluc. It always leads to you fretting over his health and if he was working too hard and he should take a break. Diluc is whipped and cannot say no to you so he always begrudgingly let’s you lead him away as Kaeya smiles and waves him off. It’s gotten to the point that no matter what Diluc is in the middle of, unless it’s of the upmost importance, if he catches Kaeya anywhere near you he’s swooping in and leading you away.
Diluc has always been straight to the point, non-nonsense idle talk, but when you drag him away to simply lie down at Starsnatch Cliff just because you were worried about him, he can’t help but feel his heart warm. Watching you blow on dandelions and enjoy the peaceful winds of Mondstadt does he let his hectic life standstill.
When Diluc first met you, it was during his three year long journey to discover the truth of his father and the Delusions. You had saved him during his escape from a Fatui stronghold and explained you were apart of a third-party observer from the North. A vast underground intelligence network that approved of his actions and wanted him to join. Diluc, still deep in his anger and untrustworthy state of anyone, declined the offer but you still hanged around him. He didn’t understand why, and frankly did not want you anywhere near him, but you did save him. Something you very much liked to bring up, even after returning to Mondstadt. He couldn’t necessarily push you away and despite leaving the Knights of Favonius, he still maintained the same chivalry that all knights had.
From then on it had just been the two of you, him looking for the next Fatui base while you travelled with him as an “observer” despite helping him and being overly chatty. Asking where the next destination is like you’re some sort of overeager kid. At first, he really disliked your presence. A lot. In his mind you were a second Kaeya and after the events of what had happened, he might have been far colder to you than he should have been. He thought you were hiding behind the same kind of mask Kaeya did and that you were secretly some Fatui agent sent to kill him. But that never seemed to deter you, even making fun of the idea that the Fatui would seriously try and send an agent to con him rather than try and kill him outright with all the information he had on them.
You both had your clashes when it came to certain things, especially when it came to taking breaks and sightseeing. He felt that you were way too relaxed for something so important and you felt he was way to uptight and needed to stop running through life. But overtime, he found that he actually somewhat enjoyed your personality and quirks. While you could kick a Fatui’s guard head off if you tried hard enough, you would also drag him to feed the ducks by a pond. He had come to learn that you and Kaeya were different, you didn’t wear a mask and bared your heart to the world. He thought you were a bit foolish for doing that since you can never really trust anyone but you instead offered that not everyone was a bad person, that if he spent every waking moment trying to backstab someone would that really be a life worth living?
It’s during the lantern festival in Liyue does he really come to understand his goals in life. Writing down wishes for the new year to send off in paper lanterns is when he acknowledges his shortcomings and finally agrees to join the underground intelligence network. You offer him a bright grin as you cheer that he finally finally got off his stubborn self and you’re now officially partners in not-really-but-still-technically crime. For the first time since Diluc started his journey, he gives a small smile and let’s himself relax as he watched the golden lanterns fly through the sky beside you.
When he decides it’s time to return to Mondstadt and take up his position as Diluc Ragnvindr, he tries to not so subtly ask if you would want to join him. He knows that you still have ties to that secret organization and you probably have your own agenda but Diluc has gotten used to your bubbly personality, he doesn’t want to live without you. But his worries are quickly squashed when you tease him for a bit but slip your hand in his and ask where the next destination is.
---
Gripping my writing hand, I went overboard and ran with it. I really want to write pre-hcs of how you met Xiao and a continuation of young Diluc and you. But I must finish my inbox.  Also my joke of Xiao beating things into submission started all the way back to my first Xiao HCs of friendship. I did not know this lol. I just think it’s funny to imagine xiao doing it. I’m about to high five my past self.
By the way, should I break up my hcs more? I feel like they are actual paragraphs and that might be annoying to read.

ataraxia. - ch. 5 [ diluc x reader ]
Tumblr media
ch. 5 - regularity's dawn pairing: diluc x gn!reader warnings: mention of prior-obtained injuries. diluc is rich. uh,,, typical warnings for this series. words: ~1.9k words fic masterlist [ prev ] - [ next ] chapter summary: just you (a farmer), diluc (an unknown variable), and a dog (of the canine variety) existing in your house. you, of course, wish there were only two of you there... you think. well, no matter what, the dog is staying. a/n: mmm domesticity except the reader can't handle domesticity. but hold on guys,,, hold on,,, its happening,,, slowly !!! :D sorry it's been 28 years for this update lol
Tumblr media
"y'know," you set the bags of groceries down onto the kitchen counter as diluc hobbles into the room after you. "fatui presence in the city is increasing."
today is the twenty-first day since diluc has arrived at your doorstep. things have changed in your home and in the world outside. for starters, you've begrudgingly acclimated to the presence of another within your household. diluc is rather polite, much to your behest. he doesn't pry into your past, he doesn't rifle through your things, and, from what you can tell, he hasn't gone into your bedroom without permission.
diluc respects the boundaries between the two of you and it pisses you off. for a man who showed up half-alive to your place of residence, diluc keeps himself together in a frustratingly fascinating manner. he's gotten accustomed to crutches. he washes dishes for you, despite the cast on his wrist and insistence that you can do it yourself. hell, with his pyro vision, you don't even need to worry about firewood nor kindle for the kitchen stove. diluc is oddly self-sufficient for a man as injured as he is.
however, it's not like you're not looking to take care of him. it's just irritating to see this man being able to pick himself right back up and act like everything is okay, even if crutches are tucked into his armpits and supporting his weight. you're no fool, though. you know things aren't perfect for the redhead. you can see it in the wistful glimmer of his eyes when it rains and you can see it in the way that it looks like he wants to speak but doesn't know how.
diluc picks himself back up from his injuries, sure, but you can tell it's a hollow husk of the person he used to be. besides, you're wise enough to know that a broken wrist doesn't cause the solemnness you see in his expression. the source of that pain likely occurred long before you met him.
"the fatui?" diluc asks and you immediately regret having internally praised him for recovering so well from his injuries. maybe if he hadn't, you wouldn't have been asked such a dumb question.
"yes, the fatui. that's what i just said," you snap in response and, much to your surprise, diluc lets out a laugh. it's short-lived and it's more of a bark of a laugh rather than a wholehearted chortle, but it causes you to glance over at him, shooting him a glare as you angrily unpack the grocery bags.
"you do not talk to many other people, do you?" diluc asks, causing you to tilt your head in confusion. his eyes gleam with a mirth you've never seen before in them and it serves to do nothing but baffle you.
"neither do you?" you respond and your words come out questioning, rather than the harsh retort you originally hoped for. diluc pointedly looks down at his broken appendages and shrugs his shoulders to move his crutches. you stare at him blankly, unamused by his nonverbal sass.
"fatui presence," diluc quickly redirects the conversation before it can fall in to an awkward silence. "are there any recent events that would lead them to increase their numbers in the city?"
you furrow your brow in thought. "i... i'm not sure. i'm not exactly the best informant. outside of what i see at the newspaper stands, there's not much i can go by."
diluc falls silent, expression mimicking yours. "each time you go into the market, could you purchase a newspaper?"
you stare at him, baffled by his question.
"diluc," you begin slowly, as if he doesn't understand. "those are expensive." printing is not yet widespread to teyvat, with most effort going into the publication of books and kamera photography. spending several hundred mora on the weekly copy of the teyvat times is a luxury that someone like you can't afford. most other farmers you had the (unfortunate) pleasure of knowing are in the same boat, with just enough money to live, yet not enough to indulge in disposable newspaper. however, diluc seems to care little about such things.
"i'll pay for it," he says and you narrow your eyes at him. you don't dare challenge him.
of course this random enemy of the fatui has enough money to pay for newspapers. of course! its only convenient that he can just afford whatever he wants. its infuriating. of course he can pay. he always does. he pays for his dumb expensive grape juice, he always offers to pay the bills, he indulges in everything that you have to work so, so hard for while giving absolutely no indicator as to who exactly diluc is.
hell, you don't even know his last name, but you're sure as hell not about to ask. to ask would show an indicator of wanting to get close and you've already overshared with the redhead enough. you bite back a sigh of frustration as he balances on one leg, setting his crutches to the side and begins to help you unpack the groceries.
diluc is only trying to help, you remind yourself. he wants to make life easier for you because you're helping him. yet, you want to scream and cry at him for it. diluc shouldn't be so diligent and determined all of the time. he should be weak, he should be human, but he's not. he's not human to you, not even close.
he's just this stranger who you help to avoid a guilty conscience. it irks you that he's helping you because you're not helping him out of goodwill. you're only helping him so you don't hate yourself later.
you let out a nearly silent sigh, before resting the palms of your hands on the kitchen counter, splaying your fingers out.
"diluc, go sit down," you state exasperatedly.
you need to rest, you want to say, but your concerns remain unspoken. you're not concerned over him, you tell yourself.
"no," diluc states. you press your lips into a tight line as he turns to put a bag of flour in the pantry. yet, even you are smart enough to know this is a fight you cannot win.
you let him stay, you let him pay, you let him win. it eats away at your autonomy and, even though your brain screams at you to hate him for it, a small part of you is thankful for his assistance and company. you feel the familiar rush of angry tears beginning to well up behind your eyes, yet you swallow the lump in your throat.
you realize now why diluc bothers you so much. you realize why you completely and utterly loathe him. you realize why he's nothing but trouble and how you can't wait for him to finally, finally leave.
you hate diluc because he reminds you of what you truly are: vulnerable.
---
you check the kitchen. nothing. you check the bathroom. nothing. you check the living room. nothing. you check your bedroom. nothing. you check the supply closet. nothing.
which leaves one place left unchecked: diluc's room.
in typical "i'm the owner of this house" fashion, you knock lightly on his ajar door and, without waiting for a response, swing open the door. at this point, diluc is unsurprised and you can see his brow furrow slightly in annoyance as he looks up from his book.
good, you think to yourself, satisfied with his reaction.
"where is eos?" you ask, eyes scanning around the room. you crouch down to glance underneath the bed diluc is resting in.
"what?" diluc asks, confused. "what is eos?"
you stand up straight, staring at diluc with a nearly aghast expression. you take it back. the dumb, well-read redhead isn't smart.
"the dog," you say, as if the information is obvious (and it is!).
"oh," diluc says. "i was unaware it had a name."
"he has a name. it's eos. it's written on his collar and everything," you state, voice growing distant as you look over the room. determining that he very clearly isn't here (thank archons. you don't know what you would've done if your own dog picked diluc over you.), you narrow your eyes at diluc, staring daggers at him.
"do you know where he is or not?" you ask.
"he," diluc begins pointedly, as if trying to rectify for his earlier mistake. "appeared to need to... relieve himself outside, so i let him out when i was up earlier."
you bite back a groan. the weather today was great, which meant your dog surely wasn't coming back any time soon.
"you can't just let him out," you begin exasperatedly, rubbing a hand down the side of your face. "he likes to bother the chicken coop."
"he had to use the bathroom. in case it is not obvious, i am not quite in a condition to walk him out there," diluc states. you flutter your eyes closed in frustration, exhaling deeply.
don't bicker with him, you tell yourself. it's not worth it. you'll just sound like an old married couple.
wait, what? your eyes shoot open at your thoughts and diluc looks taken aback at your sudden wide eyes and startled expression. old married couple? you ask yourself, wondering what the hell your brain was thinking to make that thought pop into your head.
"whatever," you huff, shaking your head slightly to clear the weird thoughts out of your head. "sorry for bothering you. don't let the dog out again. i'm going to go get him."
you turn to leave, but the clearing of diluc's throat has you stopping in your tracks. you turn to look at him, tilting your head questioningly.
"'the dog'?" diluc quotes your words. the corners of his lips twitch up in amusement. "he has a name. it's eos."
diluc laughs at his own joke. it's soft and reserved and beautif-
"yup," you say, unamused, ignoring the way your heart clenches at the way his smile leaves his face. without leaving room for any more conversation, you walk out the room and close the door softly behind you.
idiot, you think to yourself, yet for once, the thought isn't directed at diluc. whatever. no time to dwell. you had a dog to go fish out of the chicken coop before he started barking angrily at the chicken eggs. last time eos had gotten loose in the chicken coop, the chickens were uninjured, but eos' ego was not. they had gifted him with a scratch of their claws, unamused by his barking antics.
you have your dog. you have your farm. you don't need diluc and you certainly don't need the way he nearly giggles at his own little jokes. yet, for some reason, it's all you can think of as you walk to the chicken coop.
"idiot," you mutter to yourself. "should've left him out in the rain."
after all, if you had left him out in the rain twenty-one days ago, you wouldn't be trying to furiously scrub the gentle upward curve of his lips out of your head, nor wishing he reserved such smiles only for you. archons, you are hopeless.

“sorry timmie i need fowl” *does an elemental burst on the birds*
he knew how much seonghwa wanted to get diluc so when wooyoung pulled him he rubbed it in seonghwa’s face for 2 whole weeks
during the quests where he has to be sneaky, he always got caught and almost threw his phone after having to restart for the 10th time
when he plays co-op with any of the other members, wooyoung just starts attacking them w his weapons
“fuck the fatui everyone hates the fatui....except tartaglia i like him”
gets annoyed when he sees hilichurls running after him
“i’m just trying to deliver food LEAVE ME ALONE”
will be in the middle of doing a quest when he sees a dog and spends 5 minutes just standing next to it
jongho
mains: diluc
he’s more of a silent player, meaning that he plays the game a LOT but isn’t as vocal about it
“hey jongho what ar are you?” “30″ “...didnt you just start playing three days ago?
*shrugs* “yeah”
the members who have a lower world level than him ask him if he can do co-op and help them defeat some enemies that they’re having trouble w but jongho’s like nah do it yourself
finishes all of his commissions in like 2 minutes
he agrees w diluc and also has a thing against the knights of favonius
“who was the one who defeated stormterror? yeah that’s right ME”
“i snuck in to steal the holy lyre and none of them noticed pssh amateurs”
the only person he’ll play co-op with is yunho and the two of them just wreak havoc all over liyue and monstadt
had to fight 3 ruin guards at the same and hated every second of it
instead of sprinting on the ground he just hops/glides from roof to roof

Ragnvindr || Chapter 3
"In the abandoned corridors of my heart, your footsteps still echo late at night.” - d.j
Tumblr media
You couldn't help but be reminded of what was as the two of you sat, legs over the wall, watching the night.
The words you had prepared every night, rehearsing to the dark blank walls, until this moment in time, had disintegrated into foam. You remembered nothing you had spent hours pretending to speak to him about.
Seeing him next to you, there for your questioning felt so alien, you had lost everything you wanted to tell him.
After imagining him in your mind, as who he used to be, now that you were faced with the reality, the images in your mind broke away and revealed the truth.
The truth that no matter when you met him or how you met him, you would never be able to tell him what was truly on your mind.
"I don’t know what to ask you about." You spoke honestly, quietly.
Diluc had not spoken since he turned around. His mask lay on the ground next to his lap, his face bare.
He looked exhausted. Gone was the youthful, bright gaze in his eyes that you used to admire and treasure.
The man from beside you turned, meeting your gaze and raised a brow.
You turned back, a faint smile on your lips. "But we can stay like this for a little longer. It's been a long time."
Your last words faded into a whisper as you tucked your knees into yourself, resting your chin on your knees.
"I left."
You hummed, watching the moon. His voice had gotten deeper, darkened eyes more forlorn. But both of you had changed in ways you had never expected.
Diluc from beside you shuffled uncomfortably.
"What's with the whole Darknight thing?"
He stared at you as if he thought that was the last thing he'd be questioned about.
"I never thought you'd want to be a hero."
"It's a stupid name, there is no use in empty titles."
Your lips quirked at his comment.
"But the Knights are simply incompetent." His answers were short.
"That was how I knew it was you, you know. Be careful of what you say."
"Only you would know through such limited evidence like that."
"Not Kaeya?"
As if you had presented him with foul food, his eyes dulled, even more, his lips setting back into their line.
You had never been as close with Kaeya, but you were both on good terms. Whenever was possible, Kaeya would come with an arm slung around Diluc and a smile on his face.
But now, their relationship seemed different. You made a note to go see Kaeya too, whether that meant talking to him or not.
"How.. have you been?"
"Alright."
"Are you..." Taking care, was what you wanted to say, but instead frowned, letting your question drag out. It felt strange to be close to him again.
That wall you had felt before was back, an invisible barrier between you two. It felt like you couldn't even check up on him without feeling like a stranger.
"You haven't changed a bit."
You raised a brow at the man who stared back blankly. "You're always pestering me like you're my mother."
Shrugging innocently, you stood up, stretching your legs.
"How is... your family?"
You stopped stretching, lowering your arms. "They're okay. No one got severely hurt except..."
Except for your eldest brother's wife. You heard the news after you arrived back in Mondstadt. Your brother had shielded his wife, but it wasn't enough. She died after a blow to her head with the heavy crates on the carriages and not only that but... she had been with child too. And now your brother never showed his face.
Your heart clenched. You longed for his carefree jokes and laughter. But that was also missing from your life now.
"...?"
You looked down, blinking several times until you realised you had zoned out. Diluc looked up at you after calling your name and you looked away. "Sorry. Everyone's okay."
Silently, he picked himself up, clutching his mask in his hand. "I see. I'm... glad to hear then."
You stared down at your boots, the wind brushing your hair away from your face.
You had so many questions. If he got any of the letters you sent throughout those four years if things really were okay with him. And what had happened... even you didn't know clearly.
But you stayed quiet. You both had only met again after all. There was time.
You raised a hand, catching a stray dandelion in the wind.
"Hey... Diluc."
He turned, hair waving in the wind.
"I still have my questions. But I will wait for whenever you are ready to tell me the answers."
He nodded, following your gaze into the night. "As will I."
The silence was broken by a loud clattering nearly scaring you and Diluc whipped on his mask, immediately peering down.
"What was that?"
"There's been a lot of strange attacks lately." He spoke hurriedly as he dashed over the walls. You kept up, despite your aching legs from the long journey to Mondstadt. "Strange marks are left around... I think it has something to do with the Abyss Mages that keep showing up lately."
"Abyss Mages? Why would the Abyss Order be..." There was a louder crash and the sounds of dogs barking as you both got closer to the noise.
Diluc leapt down from the wall, your heart thudding in fear for him until his midnight gliders ripped open, letting him soar through the rooves of the sleeping city.
You didn't have one yourself, but you managed— clambering down chimneys and jumping across rooves just to follow the shadowy figure.
You had lost him for a second when a bright burst of red and orange came from below. Fire.
Leaping down onto the paths, you ran towards the conflict, shielding your face as a brighter, more powerful gust of fire erupted.
When the flash of flames had settled, you ran towards the spot, waving away the smell of burnt wood. Coughing, you found Diluc standing over a trembling figure, his claymore struck into the ground. Cracks ran through the ground, releasing steam.
"Is everything okay...?"
You shouldn't have shown your face then as Diluc turned, seemingly forgetting you were there. The figure, an Abyss Mage, leapt up, seizing its opportunity to escape.
It dove towards you but after years of training for self-defence in Liyue, your hands seized its neck before it could go anywhere and slammed it down into the ground, narrowly dodging an icy blast.
Diluc stared at you oddly, his claymore raised to hack it down, but you had already slammed the creature back into the ground.
He was still standing still, watching you. "Are you going to do something to it?"
For the first time, Diluc was speechless, lips parting and closing until he quickly regained himself, staring down at the unconscious mage.
"I apologise. I forgot I... had someone with me."
As he bound it tightly in ropes that magic could not penetrate through, Diluc stayed silent, though a frown was on his face. Finally, when he had hung up the Mage in front of the Knights of Favonius Headquarters, he turned to you.
"I didn't know you could do that."
"You don't know what I can do now." You sent him a smile but his frown remained.
"I guess you really did change."
"It's been four years. I was a kid."
His frown deepened hearing this, heaving the claymore back onto his back. Something caught his attention as he bent down to assess it.
"Here, see. Marks like these."
Diluc handed you a blue, glowing feather about the size of your thumb and you raised it up, looking at it carefully. Purple incantations rippled around it when you held it, a slight burning sensation growing at the tips of your fingers. You dropped it quickly, watching the words fade.
"They're left every after Abyss attack. I can't help but think the Order is doing something..."
"I think I've seen this before."
"You have?" He stood up straight, turning to you, dark gloved hands holding your shoulders. His voice was filled with urgency.
Patting his hand, you slid out of his grasp, nodding. "The last four years... I've been travelling around. And these purple markings... I saw them once in Snezhnaya. But they weren't left by the Abyss Order. It was the Fatui."
Diluc's fist clenched. "I found these marks scattered across the seven nations. If what you're saying  is true.. but they couldn't have come together... they hate each other." He chuckled, but it was mirthless, ending in what sounded like a snarl. "If the Fatui are with them..."
"You know something don't you? Was it..." Your words were tentative. But his burning eyes were almost an answer already. "It was them that was involved in the attack four years ago wasn't it?"
He looked away. "I spent all this time not once ushering a word about my past. But now I must face it again..." He scoffed, fist clenching. "What a cruel world. If the Fatui are involved also... then this proves to be a bigger problem than I thought it would be."
"You said you went travelled across the seven nations too. Were you... searching for an answer?"
Crepus's death was a stark memory in your mind. It was sudden, so sudden and Diluc had looked at the Delusion as though he had never seen such a thing before.
"The truth..." His voice sounded far away. "I found it. It was a Delusion that killed him. And these counterfeit Visions lied in the hands of the Fatui. If they have the power to do this.. combined with the Abyss Order..."
A Delusion. You were right. Diluc's father had never received a Vision but... just how did he get his hands on a Vision?
"You knew."
You looked up at Diluc, who had noticed your unsurprised reaction. "I overheard one of our fathers' conversations once. I snuck around a lot which also meant I eavesdropped on many things without meaning to, never knowing if they were important or not."
"You didn't tell me."
"You disappeared."
He tilted his head, hiding his face in the shadows. Your eyes dropped down, feeling the heavy silence weigh down on your shoulders. Clearing your throat, you looked back up.
"You don't think they're planning to summon something just as dangerous as what happened four years ago?"
"It's hard to say for sure. But..." Diluc looked up, eyeing the horizon. A slow orange glow dissolved into the dark sky, chasing away the night. "They're planning something for sure."
"You intend to solve this on your own?"
He stayed quiet but you had received your answer. Before you could say anything, he spoke. "I can't let history repeat. It is better off on my own. I have faced things more dangerous than this."
You watched him stand up straight, facing the growing orange glow. The sun was beginning to rise behind him, giving him a halo of blazing fire.
"I know we may as well be strangers by now.” You fist clenched by your side. Thinking it was one thing, admitting it was another. “But I can help you."
"We are walking on too different paths. It would be better not to get involved with me." He leapt up, landing onto a roof, preparing to disappear into the shadows again before the sun had fully crept over the land of Mondstadt.
Why do you push me away, you wanted to ask as you looked up at him, at his silhouette as he turned, facing the sunrise. Was he afraid, you wondered, as you stared at his lone image. The halo of light around him growing brighter.
You were afraid too.
But when your lips opened, you spoke in a tumble of words, afraid he would leave before you had the chance to tell him everything you had ever thought about.
"I think you'll find, Diluc, that I have been involved with you since the day I decided I'd search for you."
