At this time we are kindly requesting any multimedia content for our upcoming Oimelc issue that you have the rights or permission to share (exception for YouTube videos of druidic interest).
Oimelc is crafting season! What do you craft?
Experiencing any photogenic weather extremes this El Niño?
Devotee of Brigid? We'd love to hear about it!
Kind reminder you need to use the linked submission forms
Whether it's news of your Grove/Protogrove/solo practice, your poetry, seasonal photography, seasonal recipes, personal milestones, relevant product or book reviews, musings, meditations, devotionals, divinations, etc, we encourage you to share it in the next newsletter if you feel so inclined! Got an Etsy storefront for metaphysical supplies you provide? We even have some free promo space in the newsletter just for that. Please ensure that all content is "PG-13" or tamer.
The "liveline" (because deadline sounds so un-reformed!) is roughly: One week from the timestamp of this post (this time next Wednesday)

Last year I didn't have any blossoming plants outside, but this year I was able to invest in a more insect friendly outside plant space which I absolutely love.
Today I was sitting outside on my stairs with a cup of coffee and a book and I was visited by a bumblebee which seemed very happy with the flower options available.
I can't put into words how proud and grateful I felt watching this.

What I'm starting to miss is mythology.
I'm no great seer or psychic. I don't have inspired dreams from the Lord and Lady or any other god/esses. Whereas Wicca is a very "hands-on" religion and focused on your personal connection to the divine (which I like), I need scaffolding.
In Traditional wicca, as far as I've been able to discern, there are no set myths or tales. There are ideas like the dying and rising God, son and husband to the Triple Goddess. But that's it.
So I'm starting to pivot towards druidry. Makes sense really, seeing as Wicca seems to lean on celtic ideas as is.
I'm reading a wonderful book called Druidcraft by Philip Carr-Gomm, which I'm enjoying immensely.
Let's see where the journey takes me.

I finished my ogham runes today!
I want to learn how to read ogham (it will likely be my Druid focus for my first degree with the Ancient Order of Druids in America), so I decided to make my own set. I cut cross section pieces from a branch pruned from the birch tree in my front yard, sanded the faces, then used my husband's wood burning tool to burn the letters into them.
Then, I lit some incense (I used Frankincense because of its use to sanctify spaces and objects), and I said these prayers/incantations while turning to the south, west, north, and east respectively.
Great beings of the Otherworld, please bless these runes with power and insight.
Ancestors and beloved dead, please bless these runes with power and insight.
Spirits of the land, please bless these runes with power and insight.
By my own strength and will, I bless these runes with power and insight.
Now I'm letting them soak in some sunlight. The moon is associated more with intuition and prophecy in neo-paganism, but I feel like I draw most of my strength from the sun, so I'm trying sunlight first.
I'm excited to see how my first reading goes!

hello! I am considering purchasing your Weatherworker's Grimoire, however I was wondering if you had any samples or excerpts available from the book?
If you click on the link there is an excerpt from the book in the pics. Thanks in advance!

RESEARCH PROJECT ON WITCHCRAFT
Hello! I'm doing an EPQ - a research project - on beliefs in and attitudes towards witchcraft in Britian. It would mean the world to me if anyone who sees this could fill out my survey and share it with others. Thank you so much!

It's been a few months since I really started my journey along the druid path (even though it feels way longer somehow). And just now it kinda hit me how that journey has already started to change me.
I've always tended to use products that produce as little waste as possible and buy animal friendly products - even though those eggs for example are way more expensive but I don't care - but now I'm way more invested in that area of my life. It hasn't been a conscious decision it just... happend without me noticing.
Another part of my life that seems to be affected through this journey is my yearning to work more magic. I had to cut back due to work and health issues - which has happened before and sadly will happen again - but during those times in the past I never had the urge to do. I'm also more invested in taking care of myself, physically and mentally. Also environmentally?
