I ignored the rules to make up my own lmao. Doing twelve fics I like a lot rather than the last ten, particularly because I'd like a wider time range to see how things have changed. The actual last ten would just be the first two and then all eight of the fics I did for fatherly love week in 2021 :/ Most of which were written in a very stress-filled, sleepless week right before the deadline haha. Going back to some of my earliest ffxv fics will be more interesting; curious to see how they all start because I know I usually try to make the opening line intriguing, but not always.

...so the only two I actually wish had better openings are monsters and heavy. which makes sense. monsters I just started writing at random because at that point it was supposed to be a one-shot and also never shared with anyone other than the bestie. so I didn't care where I started it.

heavy I, uh, stole the opening from nano/aftermath fic LOL. because nanofic was only a chapter and some change then, with a horrible idea I hated, and I thought I was never gonna come back to it so I might as well repurpose the few bits of it that were good. now I have a better idea and I'm actually writing it... but I still haven't changed the opening a whole lot. they're just gonna be similar forever. oh well.

but the rest feel like they either did a decent job at being an interesting hook or at least not being super boring or something. though I feel like I maybe had stronger hooks in my earlier fics, hmm. damn you brain fog.

Uhh 14 lol. It's basically Threads, the daily chat series, and a couple other random ones. I don't update my AO3 hardly ever.

This Solomon fic is by far the angstiest thing I've ever written ever.

I mean, honestly, you can just bop on through my masterlist, so much of it is fluff and happy endings. I don't think there's any one that's like the happiest.

I have gotten but one anon hate. They didn't specify what they were hating on, but I got it after I posted these graveyard sex headcanons so I think it was probably about that.

Sure thing, you can see all the NSFW sections of the masterlist lol. It's all x reader, gender neutral stuff. Though I have done afab reader on request.

NEVER SAY NEVER. But seriously, I don't ever fully abandon things, you never know when the inspiration will strike again! Also I never post stuff that isn't finished. My process is such that this just doesn't work for me. So even when I'm doing multi chapter fics, they're already finished when I start posting them. So anything I don't finish or ever go back to will only be sitting in my files on my computer and no one will know about it but me...

16. What are your writing strengths?

I like to think I'm pretty good at dialogue? I dunno, it's hard to judge myself. Ask me when I'm in the middle of it and I'll tell you there are no strengths lol.

Description, probably.

I have no thoughts about this. I don't usually include such things myself.

Get to Know Me - Sims Edition

What's your favourite Sims death?

In the Sims 1 it would have to be death by fire, the screams were very messed up. What does that even day about me?

In the Sims 2, death by locusts. I just think it's very creative really, and karma for not cleaning up lol.

In the Sims 3 it would have to be either death by meteor or being crushed by a vending machine. They are jsut so abrubt and random, not to mention if a school gets hit by one, the children can't escape! Thta's messed up.

I haven't played the sims 4 in ages so uh, i dunno...

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

In the sims 2, Maxis Match, sort of, all my defaults are clay hairs now. They used to not be, but I will never use Alpha cc.

The sims 3 is a bit tricky because I feel like there isn't really maxis match or alpha. I guess maxis match since I don't really like the really shiny alpha hair.

When I used to play sims 4 it was primarily maxis match.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Nope, I don't even have to, these people lose and gain weight quicker than I can even notice it, it's weird.

When I was playing with the Bunch family in the sims 3, Jack had to get athletic points for his job and he immediately lost tons of weight even though it had only been a day!

Do you use move objects?

Yup, well, mostly in the sims 2, it hasn't really come up often in the sims 3...

Favourite Mod?

In the Sims 2, it has to be 50 New Lifetime Wants and Lifetime Want Chooser by Lamare, it's changed my life honestly. I would also reccommend Semester Changes by Cyjon which makes University 8 days long, which is a lifesaver.

For the Sims 3, I have a few. There is this one here that stops snow day from happening at all, but it is in a different language. There is also Faster Gardening by berryblonde. I also use the Random Genetics Mod by NeuroBlazer that has been deleted by the links are saved in this post here

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

For Sims 1, I got the ultimate collection, so they all were the first one...

Um, I don't remember for the sims 2, I really don't, I used to play it when I was really young and my mum just bought them whenever she found them.

I do remember that I bought every expansion pack as it came out for the sims 3, the exception being world adventures for some reason. I think there was some kind of problem with that pack? Well, it was Ambitions for me, I love that pack!

For the sims 4, I think it was either Dine Out or Get to Work.

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

Lain, I feel like I put a lot of effort into making here since I was going to show her off to the internet. I also feel very attached to her since I've given her so much backstory and personality, which I haven't really done for other sims in the past. Not including Jane...

Have you made a simself?

Only once, back in the sims 2. I made me and my family and played for a bit with them. Haven't done that since, by maybe I will try and do that some day.

Which is your favorite EA hair color?

Well...I like the red hair swatch in the sims 2 I guess? And the sims 3 plantinum blonde is fun. Don't know about sims 4 though....

Favorite EA hair?

Although I replaced them all with clay hair, I do still feel a lot of fondness for the sims 2 hairs. I think my favourite is the one with the beanie and long straight hair.

Sims 3 hair...is not good. Although, the hairs that came in later expansions were better. I like the surfer hair for guys that came in Island Paradise.

I like none of the sims 4 ea hairs. I feel like the community does a better job at making clay hair than the sims team, sorry.

Favorite life stage?

I'm also going to be boring and say YA. It's were the fun starts. Teens are also fun in sims 2 and and 3.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Gameplay. I've gotten more into building lately, but I do get kinda impatient with it.

Nope! I have no talent for it at all.

In the past, I just jumped into the game and messed around for a bit then started a new game. It's only now that i've been trying out challenges and legacies. It's made me want to play the games a lot more.

The fact that I had to go and check. It's persona34a. I've had it for a while, it's in reference to the persona games when Persona 4: The Animation came out. You can add me if you want but I have never used Origin as anything more than a way to access the games I play so I have no idea what any of that will do...

I use Gimp to edit my pictures, which was a rather steep learning curve when I first started. I'm still a little rusty on it but It's not like I need to do much them other than cut out the bits of UI.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite?

For sims 1: Vacation, I had a lot of fun jsut sending them on vacation and quitting when their needs dropped too low, lol.

For sims 2: Apartment Life. What can I say, I love apartments and Belladonna Cove

For sims 3: Now that's a tricky one, but I am going to say Generations just because it so much depth to family gemplay and finally gives kids and teens something to do.

My first name (a variation of Stephanie)…no. But my 2nd name and also my preferred name, Allison, was actually originally my mother's name (only hers was spelled Allyson) and she hated it on her so she passed it on to me…? That's a whole lot of shit I gotta unpack one of these days 🥴🫡

2. When was the last time you cried?

I chose violence last week and decided to flesh out what the Season 2B finale of 'relinquish the crown' would look like, decided to title it 'relinquish the crown: you're losing me', and yep…that had me crying for a few good minutes. Whelp--

3. Do you have kids?

Lol no. My aspiration is to be cool rich aunt to my friends' kids.

Building doesn't allow any pets sadly (which might be a good thing because I have no idea if I'm capable of keeping another living thing alive when I'm struggling taking care of myself lol), but I have a lot of stuffed toys that I have to share with y'all one of these days

5'4", and it's ridiculous that despite being this smol, I look like I'm tol when I go outside because most people I come across are 5'1" and under. (Just can't stand beside my father because he's 5'10" and suddenly I am smol again)

14. Favorite subject in school?

English. Honestly wasn't a big fan of the books we had for required reading, but during my Junior year in High School, we had a few weeks just dedicated to Edgar Allan Poe and that's probably my favorite memory from those 4 forsaken years lol…ohh, and that one week where we learned about sonnets and I had to write one. Good times, goooooood times.

15. Dream job?

Book reviewer. If there's a way for me to make some "sit back and relax in my humble lil mansion/penthouse" money from just reading books and hyping it up on the internet for everyone to see, then that's what I want. All my friends putting out books and lil ol' me in my reading nook, hyping them up. And then occasionally I'll come out with something of my own…maybe. When the mood strikes.

Song stuck in head: look…I wish it were some cool indie thing but if I am being one hundred percent honest, it is the theme song from a Japanese supermarket I went to last week. since then, I have woken up every morning thinking maybe today I will be free, and every morning I am wrong.

# of followers: a little over 700 but I'm pretty bad at cleaning out bots so who knows, I may mostly be talking to myself out here.

Amount of sleep: I am so so protective of my 8 hours. I can get by on less, but my willingness to do so wanes with every passing year.

Dream job: I don't believe in dream jobs as a concept! IME in the arts/culture sector, ostensibly desirable industries tend to attract wild egos and self-perpetuating systemic access inequities. I've also worked extensively in/with academia, and suffice to say that academia as an aesthetic is freaking hilarious to me. try making a moodboard about a perpetually broken in-house CMS and a byzantine procurement system.

Wearing: the most comfortable clothes I own i.e. an oversized t-shirt from a live orchestral performance of Undertale music I went to in Chicago a few years back, and dhoti salwar I picked up in Hyderabad for a friend's wedding.

Movie/book that summarizes me: I dunno about 'summarizes' but when I watched EEAAO I was like…jfc I knew this would be my shit but I did not know it would be, like, My Shit.

Fave song: I like a lot of music and my faves shift around depending on my mood! but if I absolutely had to pick an all-timer...Frank Ocean's Sweet Life, maybe? channel ORANGE was a game-changer for me.

Aesthetic: generally I dress like a bizarre mix of "beleaguered sea witch" and "teenage DM in 1996." (I was not a teenager in 1996, I've just never dressed in an appropriately contemporary way)

Fave authors: Pterry has been my go-to comfort read for 20 years; I'll also read literally anything by Ocean Vuong, Carmen Maria Machado, Anthony Oliveira, and Zen Cho. Some slightly less contemporary authors whose prose was very formative for me: James Baldwin, Octavia Butler, Witi Ihimaera, Vladimir Nabokov. I could keep going tbh, I read a lot and my last two apartments were less than a block away from their respective local libraries. (not my current apartment tho, which I am being a giant spoiled baby about.)

Random fact: it's actually really tough to pick something fun that doesn't immediately doxx me lol. how about this—I once spent 6 weeks on an archaeological dig in Roswell, NM.

Hi! This is about the Harry Potter thing.

So, I've been following your blog for a month or two now (I love your writing advice stuff, and the random posts you reblog, it's all really cool), and hadn't noticed the potterheads dni (I dunno if it was there or not, sorry). I read your most recent ask answer about (I think most recent..), I totally get it, I don't like it when people blatantly disregard bigotry like that for the sake of capitalistic pleasures.

But where exactly do you draw the line at support? Like what counts, to you? Does fan content count? I ask because I'm about one-year strong on the JKR Sucks Train and don't, like, buy merch or stream the movies or anything anymore, but I do make some fan content for the HP series sometimes? (I've also reblogged a lot of stuff about The Game (I don't know the name of it; the one about the goblins )>_<) ) and why it's so... just So Terrible.

I'm kinda rambling but my point is--are you uncomfortable with Harry Potter fans who are aware of its issues, speak out about/against said issues, make fan content, but don't buy things that financially support JKR interacting with your blog/you?

I swear I’m not the person who wrote the ask about Rouge’s breasts, but just so I personally know: what are the specific things you won’t respond to? I had an ask I thought would be funny but then realized MIGHT come across as weird and uncomfortable. It wasn’t sexual or anything, but it was in the same vein of “trying to do banter like I know you” kind of way even though I don’t.

I mean, it's hard to put a point on it. It also depends on what mood I'm in. I'm bad at being social and I'm bad at banter and some days I just don't have the patience for it because I figure I'll screw it up or something.

I mean, there are days where I get nervous and screw up banter with people I have known for decades.

Generally most of the asks I ignore are:

People asking me a question I can remember answering. I know I'm forgetful and tend to repeat myself a lot (sorry, folks) but if you're asking me something that was a post within the last ~3 months I generally ignore it. Though I've started softening on this issue a bit because Tumblr's search is so awful that I imagine nobody could find old posts even if they wanted to. It's hard for me to find my own posts a lot of the time. (Tumblr seems to ignore post tags and just searches post contents, but even that's extremely hit-or-miss. When in doubt, use google instead.)

Asks that are too childish. I've actually gotten a couple more since that post, and I've deleted them. I don't think I'm funny or clever enough to make anything out of those and encouraging those kinds of "lol, so random XD" posts from the peanut gallery is a slippery slope. And a lot of them can be pretty miserable when they're from a rando (again, I drop the ball on those kinds of things when they come from people I've known half my life, never mind strangers).

Asks that are pointlessly spiteful or insulting. These are extremely rare, but nobody is going to benefit from a cycle of "I know you are, but what am I?" and I learned even before getting online to never feed trolls. Bullies say things like that to get you to react, so just don't react. I trained myself on that from a pretty early age.

Asks about things I am unfamiliar with. I used to humor these by checking out the thing they were asking me about, but with dwindling free time I can't just go jumping down every single rabbit hole I'm presented with. But again it's also kind of a mood thing; it just depends on if I feel like I have the energy. There are times where I do check the thing out, but definitely not always. Also, it started feeling like people ask me about these things just so I post about them, like it's free advertising? That's weird. I don't like being part of somebody's covert advertising campaign.

Similar to the above, I've started ignoring asks for what I think about specific influencers. I'm not familiar with most of them, and those I am familiar with I do not know personally. Outside of the mega-celebrities like Markiplier and Pewdiepie, there's not enough information to form a logical opinion. Blindly thrashing with "I dunno, they seem kind of bad" conjecture benefits nobody. We should all be more aware of what we put back out in to the world.

New cat ears!!!

Okay so, Today My grandma Gigi allowed me to go to Hot Topic (which the other part of my family kinda is not a fan of) but anyways me and my lil sis were able to buy anything we wanted. and i found a bunch of cat ears! the one i choose looks pretty close to my theriotype and I am so happy! it even has little tiny bells on em!

The best part is that i can adjust the ear pieces! like oh ma gawd ^^

question for the alterhuman community

For a long time I have been wanting to write about my conceptkin part of my alterhuman identity since barely anyone made short stories or literally anything related to that kind of topic due to how little the conceptkin community might be.

I’m hesitant on doing so, I’m not the best writer and I feel might be judged and preyed opon for writing down my experiences and wants on tumblr (or really any online place)

so, what do you think? Should I? Should I write about my conceptkin experences and make art related to that or is that too taboo? I do not want to offend or hurt the alterhuman community at all! I just want to express my thoughts.

i would be grateful if I could get at least once response, either by comment, Dm, or reblog, I do not really care, whichever method Of communication would be fine and helpful.

What's your thought process behind which fics get uploaded to ao3 and which stay on tumblr?

mostly just trying to remember to put recent stuff up on ao3 as well lol.

for older fics it's kinda more complicated because like, a lot of them are old enough that the interests and the writing quality aren't quite up to snuff with my current self, so it feels a little weird to post them like they're brand new. (or if canon material now contradicts the fic.) I know I can "back-date" them, but that kind of seems like... massive self-shooting-in-foot. Ao3's "recently updated" feed for fandom seems to be responsible for most exposure. So backdating a fic to like 2016 seems like asking for no one to ever find it.

so I probably SHOULD just pick through my fics and steadily upload them to ao3 with a footnote about the original publish date. but then it's like, what order should I do this? random whims? what about fics that were responses to ask prompts? that's a lot to wrangle.

also (this reason is a little more vain) it's mildly disheartening to take a fic that got a lot of fun interaction and attention on tumblr, transfer it to ao3, and end up with very little interaction. it's kinda like "oh okay yeah ill just stick to tumblr then."

oh also... coming up with ao3 summaries.... and tags? god why.

and I really don't... use ao3. I actually don't read much fic at all. So I'm way out of touch with the conventions--what kinds of tags are expected, what kinds of summaries get attention, I dunno! It's kind of a lot to figure out.

way nicer when I can just slap a fic on tumblr with no summary and a readmore and wait for people to roll in.

Danny let his head roll to the side on his pillow so he could eye Sam.

"What?"

"I dunno, it was just a random idea. Like, don't you think it would be kinda fun?"

Danny stared at him, confusion and amusement mingling on his face. This wasn't the weirdest thing Sam had said in, hell, the last half an hour? But, still, the hypothetic had Danny's attention simply because the idea was something he never really thought about - or, at least, never thought would ever happen. A boy had wet dreams and fantasies, they weren't always things he would actually act on.

"I've never thought about it."

Just not gonna mention those dreams. Or the one time he jacked off while sharing a bed with Sam, nose breathing in the scent of his hair and eyes roaming his best friend's sleeping backside. That never happened, okay?

"Really, like never?"

Sam actually looked surprised. He had?

To come clean or to not come clean, that was the question in Danny's mind. Sammy seemed totally cool with the idea, though, so it probably wouldn't do him any harm to admit it. Unless this was a prank? Nah, Sam loved jokes but this wasn't his style. He would never pick on someone for something like this, he much preferred messing with Danny in other ways.

"Fine, yeah, I've thought about it. Had a really intense dream in like, eighth, that freaked me out for a while. Didn't know how to deal with it then, ya know?"

"See, I knew it! Everyone thinks about it! What was your dream about?"

Sam bounced on the bed like an excited puppy - which, he was. A cute, fluffy, yapping ball of energy with too big feet who got super excited whenever he met new people, that was Sammy. How could Danny not love him?

"Do you really wanna hear about this?"

He had to know, just to make double sure, that Sam wasn't pulling his leg.

"Yes, I do! It's interesting to think about. And - if you tell me about your's, I'll tell you about mine?"

"Wait, your dream? What? When? How much have you thought about this? Like, being with a guy, or with me? How come you've never said anything?!"

Why was this the first time he'd heard about this? Sam was usually very vocal about everything he was thinking, at least when in private with his brothers and Danny.

Though, he guessed he knew why: it was the same reason he'd never really mentioned his own dreams and ponderings to Sam.

"Well, how come *you've* never said anything?" Sam countered. "And I'll tell you what I've thought about, but later; I wanna hear hear about this dream that freaked you out so bad. What could it have even been?"

"Mr. Oakenstein."

"WHAT?!"

Danny was cracking up at Sam's face, he looked like he'd just been told that Gibson was going out of business or something.

"Please tell me you're joking!" Sam begged. Poor boy, Danny should put him out of his misery.

"Of course I'm joking, doofus! God - Mr. Oakenstein? He was at least seventy five when we took bio! There's no way that - if I liked guys - I'd be into him. He's so wrinkly and hunched and- and *jowly*."

They both shuddered. Mr. Oakenstein's name brought back unpleasant memories of weekly chapter tests (how was it even possible to go through a book that fast?) and frog electrocution, not to mention the mental image of his sagging, jiggly face.

"Would he have even been able to get it up? Like, how long does Viagra take to kick in? You'd just have to lay there waiting and looking at him - which, ugh. That would be a nightmare, not a dream."

"Yeah," Danny agreed, still giggling a little bit, "I didn't dream about him, but it definitely would have freaked me out more if I had. Hey, you still think Miss Marcie is hot?"

Danny was procrastinating, they both knew it, but this was always a fun conversation to have.

"Always, dude. I still remember with, like, perfect clarity the time she had me come in during lunch to go over my test. I looked up and she was *right there* leaning over me reading what I was doing, and I could kind of see up her shirt... man, I was so distracted the rest of the day."

Sam sounded dreamy, lost in his memories of a hot tenth grade teacher.

"I remember that day! You were so distracted after school on the way home, you nearly drove us into a lake. And at band practice you kept messing up, Joshie nearly strangled you with his mic cord."

"Yeah! Man, I was so hard, I couldn't fucking concentrate on anything else except for trying not to cum right then and there. As soon as we called it quits for the day I was in the bathroom; and of course Jake knew what was up and wouldn't stop ribbing me about it the rest of the night."

"Damn, that bad? I mean, she was hot but she wasn't, like, *amazing*, was she?"

"You might not think so, but Miss Marcie is always gonna have a place in my heart. And the spank bank," Sam sighed. They both snickered.

"Well, what about you, hmm?" He asked. "If you didn't like Mr. Goldenstein, then who? Everyone gets hot for teacher."

Sam hummed the lyrics to the classic for a minute, Danny filling in the guitar parts. Neither of them listened to Van Halen that much, but how could you not know that song?

After a little drum solo on his thigh while Sam progressed into increasingly southern banjo sounding guitar noises, Danny stopped and answered.

"I agree, Ms. Marcelina was really hot, but she had NOTHING on Mrs. Bell. Do you remember that red dress she uses to wear?"

"Of course I do! The economy of the United States has never been so interesting!"

Danny snorted. "Dude, you never gave a shit about econ, you just liked to stare at her. Which, okay, I did too. She made that class bareable."

"I'd say she made it a bit more than bareable. And yeah, that red dress was something else,"

Sam rolled onto his side.

"Hey, what if Mr. Goldstein wore a red cocktail dress. Would you go for him then?"

Sam laughed when Danny shoved at his shoulder, shaking with amusement and disgust at the thought.

"You know, I've never entertained that thought, but I am SO glad you brought it to my attention. I'll never be able to *stop thinking about it* now, Samuel."
