OMG HELLO
I FINALLY DECIDED TO GET OUT FROM THE DARKNESS AND START TO ASK LOL HELLO
SO, MY QUESTION IS: what's everyone favorite dessert/candy? THAT'S SOMETHING REALLY IMPORTANT TO KNOW
i hc that annie loves pop tarts, especially the strawberry ones
OMG HI!!! SO GLAD TO HAVE YOU HERE😊
so that’s something super cute omfg. okay. i don’t be doing everybody, because that’s a lot of babies to assign favorite candies and desserts to (especially the bezukhov babies and scout because like wtf existed back then in those separate times) but here’s what i think:
august: auggie likes cinnamon rolls. he really likes dousing then in icing and stuffing his face with the cinnamony pastry. he’s such a cutie and i think eddie likes to bring auggie cinnamon rolls on his way home from work, and often has to tell auggie to slow down and not eat so fast🤭
annie: i think you’re completely right. annie loves pop tarts, especially the strawberry ones😉 she’s a big fan of anything obnoxiously strawberry flavored, but pop tarts are her favorite. she’s only allowed to have one pop tart per package though because that’s way too much sugar for this hyperactive child, but joby is like “you want a pop tart? knock yourself out” and will let her go wild lmao
peony: peony loves strawberry chamomile cake. how much more angel-like could she get? it’s light and fluffy and sweet and she thinks she’s a princess and so fancy when she eats it. she wants it for her birthday, she wants it when jay leaves for missions, she wants it when jay comes home from missions… it’s just such a fitting dessert for her and it makes my heart flutter thinking about it🥰
eloise: eloise is a chocolate monster. she ADORES chocolate and will stuff her face until she has a tummy ache with the richest chocolate desserts. she loves gooey liquidy chocolate, like lava cakes and chocolate fountains. she doesn’t like candy candy super much, she very much prefers chocolate bars and similar things like that. she worships the ground that chocolate walks on. she’s risking salmonella to eat the brownie batter and all that. eloise is a chocolate fiend and constantly has remnants of her chocolatey feast left around her lips😅
ben: ben likes candy canes and anything mint or like mint chocolate. he’s one of those weird mint-chocolate people. he likes york peppermint patties. he likes mint chocolate chip ice cream. he loves candy canes at christmas time. he’s a bit weird because i don’t think mint chocolate is very good but whatever floats baby boy’s boat. he’s just a big fan of mint and who’s to tell him he can’t enjoy it?
juni: juni loves sour candy. period. she loves baby bottle pops, sour patch kids, juicy drop pops, warheads, etc. this child gets hyped on sugar, similar to annie, and you and dwayne have to control her intake. as she gets older, the tolerance she builds to sour candy is insane, she practically has to drink a cup of lemon juice to even pucker her lips. she intakes sour things like they’re necessary to her survival, she loves chocolate
luna: luna likes oreos, she’s classic like that☺️ she loves dipping her oreos in milk, eats the creme first… she’s an oreo girl. she won’t say no to chocolate candy bars, she and juni often trade candy when halloween rolls around. you always have to hide the oreos on high shelves from luna when she’s little because she will eat a whole package by herself. she looks so cute with little cookie crumbs stuck to her cheeks when she’s eating her favorite dessert, practically inhaling the sandwich cookies. luna adores those cookies so much
ariel: ariel likes cupcakes, specifically red velvet. she loves how red the cake is and she loves the cream cheese frosting. she always manages to get frosting on her nose, and she’ll try and reach it with her tongue to clean it off, but to no avail😂 she won’t let anyone tell her that it’s just chocolate cake dyed red, because it’s special to her. it’s red!! like how cool is that!! she thinks that red velvet is very fancy, and whenever she gets her favorite treat she feels like a million bucks eating it. she’s such a cutie and loves to savor her red velvet treats
i hope you enjoyed that!! thank you for the question, i thought it was super cute🥰

//
Your phone screeched from its resting place on the other side of your room, signalling the start of your day. It was strategically placed atop your wooden, old-fashioned dresser, with the sole purpose of motivating you to get out of bed and turn the damn thing off.
With a groan, you stretched all four of your limbs, releasing a satisfied yawn as your joints popped after a good nights’ rest.
It was late afternoon. The rays of sunshine splattered deep orange and gold as it sneaked past the cracks the half-open blinds, painting your tiny studio apartment with lazy signs of life.
You dragged your sleep-ridden body to the dresser, still reluctant to start the day after what was an immensely taxing Friday night. Having just arrived in this bustling Korean city a mere two weeks ago, you were somewhat proud of yourself for landing a part-time job to support yourself when you started your semester of exchange. The only problem was, it happened to be a bartending job in a rowdier part of Seoul, commonly patronised by sleazy middle-aged men and their younger lady companions.
It wasn’t like you had much of a choice, anyways. Your Korean was still very much at an elementary level, which didn’t prove to be a hindrance in the bar you worked at. Most of the drinks were named in English, and the owner of the bar, a surprisingly kind, motherly lady in her sixties, paid you well above the minimum wage.
Still, it was your second Friday shift ever, and it clearly took its toll on you. Staring at your reflection in the bathroom mirror, you cringed. The eyebags under your eyes were so dark it could’ve easily been mistaken as a smoky-eye look gone wrong; your lips were awfully chapped and an alarming shade of red, while a few nasty pimples threatened to break through the surface of your skin.
In other words, you looked like a wreck.
Grabbing your phone, you checked the time. Ten minutes past four. Oh no, you winced internally. You were going to be very late if you didn’t leave your house in the next fifteen minutes. As though an internal switch flipped on, you turned the shower to full blast and stepped inside, sucking in your teeth as the cold water splashed against your skin.
In eight minutes flat, you were tugging on your beat-up sneakers and dashing for the elevator in your only pair of clean, non-alcohol-stained jeans and a plain white t-shirt that you conveniently picked off the pile of dry clothes on your sofa. You jammed the down button a couple of times, all while checking the time on your phone.
“Shit,” You cursed under your breath. 4:19. You couldn’t wait any longer.
Throwing all caution to the wind, you sprinted down the fire escape and did not stop for a single breath until you reached the final destination: a charming little bakery across the road from your apartment.
Rushing to the bakery just before closing time had become a habit for you. Amidst the chaos of moving and finding your feet in this new city, the bakery and its never-ending stream of patrons were your source of stability. Not only was it less busy and crowded during the evening, but it was also much easier for you to snag a couple of good bargains in the form of randomly-packaged, discounted breads.
The fact that the cute baker was the last one in store and in charge of closing up was just an added bonus.
//
A high-pitched, annoying chime broke him out of his daze. With a groan, Yugyeom straightened his slumped figure and stretched his arms above his head, releasing a satisfied sigh as his backbone cracked.
It was late afternoon. The rays of sunshine splattered deep orange and gold as it flooded through the drawn, white lacey curtains, painting his grandfather’s bakery with calm and relief; a peaceful conclusion. The end of daylight was drawing near.
He wiped a stray trail of saliva off the corner of his mouth before sucking on a mint. Checking the clock that hang above rack upon empty rack which usually contained baked goods, his palms inexplicably grew clammy.
4:27, Yugyeom mused. He shook his head to clear his spiralling thoughts. Keep it together, dummy. Just because she came the past few days doesn’t mean that she’ll come today too. She has her own life, her own friends, maybe even a boyfri-
Oh?
Just as his mind was about to veer off course and crash into the thorny garden of unrequited love, Yugyeom caught sight of a blurry figure at the corner of his eyes. Intrigued, he stood up straight and watched as you appeared in front of the bakery’s double doors. For a few seconds, you simply clutched your knees and huffed and puffed. Yugyeom could barely stop the shit-eating grin that split across his face and had to bite down hard on his bottom lip to avoid looking like a fool.
Then, you did the unexpected. From the back pocket of your jeans, you pulled out your lip balm and applied it on your lips, using the bakery’s glass window as a mirror. At that, Yugyeom threw his head back in a hysterical fit of laughter.
It was hard for him to explain the feeling in his chest, really. The first time you walked through the doors of the bakery, eyes twinkling with pure wonder and amazement as you browsed the array of baked goods like how a girl would admire a display of diamond rings, he was screwed. You captivated his interest as you fumbled for the right number of coins to pay for your discounted breads, tongue stuck out and head tilted adorably while doing so. He gave you, the damsel in distress, a helping hand, by laying all your coins out on the counter and ordering them from lowest to highest value. Probably not the most helpful of gestures, but Yugyeom liked to tell himself that he was performing his civic duty by welcoming a visitor of Korea through non-verbal currency explanations and an introduction to the locals’ favourite breads, pastries and drinks. That evening, the two of you sat on the high table by the window, slowly savouring melon breads, injeolmi toasts, ang butter or red bean butter breads and an assortment of cream cheese breads. While the breads were wonderfully fluffy and the sweetness was at an acceptable level, Yugyeom instructed you to wash it down with an iced Americano.
Since then, the mere thought of the bakery, going to the bakery, its breads and pastries, its drinks and Yugyeom coated your insides with sweetness. Admittedly, the reason why you kept visiting the bakery was to create more memories with Yugyeom and ride the amazing sugar rush you felt whenever you were around him.
After rearranging your hair for the nth time, you bravely pushed open the doors and walked in at 4:29pm.
“Hello!” You called out in Korean as you waved at him, a wide smile plastered on your lips. There was an obvious language barrier (you with your kindergarten-level Korean and him with his Game of Thrones-standard of English), but it wasn’t obvious. The two of you came up with creative ways to break it down.
“Hi Y/N! Sit down. I’ll get it.” Yugyeom answered in English, emerging from behind the counter with his trusty English-Korean dictionary and a matcha latte he prepared in anticipation of your arrival. He walked towards you with an air of confidence, reminding you of a model in a fashion show despite wearing his typical slacks and white button-up, with sleeves rolled up and cross drop-earrings adorning his ears. Yugyeom quickly set the items down before pulling out a chair, nodding towards it to encourage you to sit.
You muffled a giggle at his gentlemanly actions, but complied, nonetheless. You glanced over to the boy, sipping on the creamy drink as he retrieved two large plates from the cake fridge. Sure, the assortment of cakes should have been the main attraction, but your eyes drifted and settled on the stern look of concentration on his face and his prominent collarbones peeking out of his shirt. Unbuttoned, you assumed, as he was going to be off work soon.
You were halfway through the drink when Yugyeom returned to the table. He noticed this and didn’t pass up the opportunity to tease you about it. “Is it really good?”
“Thirsty. I just woke up.” You admitted, cheeks heating up in slight embarrassment.
Yugyeom’s wholehearted laughter filled the entire bakery.
“H-hey! Bad boy… Mean…”
“No, I…” Yugyeom stifled another round of laughter as he tried to pull himself together. “Cute. You wake up, come to see me in bread house.”
“Not ‘bread house’, ‘bakery’.”
“Ah, thank you. Bakery.” He tested the word on his lips, getting used to the pronunciation. “Bakery…”
“What are these?”
Yugyeom handed you a small cake fork while taking a seat. “Here. This plate is for tarts, and this one is for cakes. The tarts have the same filling – custard. But we use different fruits, like strawberries, berries, grapes and peaches. Whatever’s in season, really. Strawberries and cherry tarts are really popular in winter. Try some!” He reverted back in Korean whenever he was explaining, which was a great opportunity for you to pick up new vocabulary.
It was also a fantastic opportunity to try delicious pastries. You rotated through the entire plate painted in shades of pinks and green, taking a bite of each tart. Yugyeom just sat there, head in his palms, and admired the slight changes in your expression whenever you tried a new flavour. As creepy as it sounds, watching you eat the food he prepared was gradually becoming his favourite pastime.
“Cherry! That one is the best! It’s…” You quickly reached for the dictionary, softly muttering to yourself as you thumbed through the pages. “Here, acid. Acid, not too sweet. The strawberry one too.” Your eyes crinkled at their edges as they met his intrigued orbs, proudly smiling at yourself for learning a new word today.
“The word you’re looking for is ‘acidity’. ‘Acid’ is for chemistry.”
“Acidity?”
“Yes, that’s right.” Yugyeom reached over, his huge palm caressing the top of your head before ruffling your hair. You pouted and feigned annoyance, all while your heart squeezed and pounded away in your chest.
“Hey…” You protested weakly.
Yugyeom’s hand retreated. He placed it on the table, right next to your smaller ones. The distance between your hands taunted him; tempted him to close the gap and intertwine your fingers with his. Honestly, Yugyeom wasn’t used to this; wasn’t used to feeling like his insides were going to explode. His mouth opened and closed several times as he pondered his next move, wondering whether it would overstep your boundaries.
But then you stared at him in anticipation with your beautiful brown orbs, innocent and confused, as your lips wrapped around the straw of your matcha latte. Your gaze asked him an unspoken question, urging him on.
Yugyeom dragged your chair closer his, eliciting a high-pitched squeal from you. He rested both of his palms on top of your knees, gaining your full attention. “I like…” Yugyeom paused, catching his bottom lip between his pearly whites as the corners of his mouth tugged upwards. “I like this time with you.”
The soft giggle was purely involuntary, you swore to him afterwards. Yet, as you watched his expression flicker into one of panic, you were quick to cast out his worries. “No, no! Don’t get me wrong. Did you mean, you like spending time with me?”
“Ah, I was trying to be romantic. Stupid English…” Yugyeom cursed under his breath in Korean, unaware that you were familiar with the word ‘romantic’ due to the hours you spent (wasted) binging Korean dramas. “Yes, I do.” He said while squeezing your kneecaps in affirmation.
You had to remind yourself time and time again to keep calm in the presence of this charming man and his magical hands. “Me too, Yugyeom. You’re my favourite time of the day.”
Needless to say, your afternoon ritual continued for weeks and months to come.

The DMC boys and choccies
So I was chatting to @miriashikin a lil’ bit last night, and she drops this little nugget right into my lap:
Tumblr media
I’ve never done a batch of HCs before in my life, so I hope this is the sort of thing you were looking for, Miria!! ;A; So without further ado:
Dante
Honestly isn't picky. That's probably just a result of being broke all the time though.
The only kind he absolutely abhors is turkish delight. You keep that away from him.
Other than that, he'll try pretty much anything once, but you really can't go wrong with a good good ol' milk chocolate. The smoother the better.
He says it's all the better to lick off you with.
He's that guy who's melting an entire block of milk chocolate to pair with a punnet of strawberries.
He has to ask you to melt it though, because he somehow always gets the chocolate to seize. Everytime.
"You got it wet." "I'm not even anywhere near water!!"
Double dips
Triple dips
He's also that guy who'll pick up a block and just… bite right into it. Breaking it up into the already portioned bite-sized little squares? Nah, miss him with that. If you want some, you gotta take a chunk out of it with your choppers. That's how things roll in the Sparda household.
Nobody tell Vergil he said that.
The most prone to trying out the more interesting chocolates. He's not a fan of spice in the least, but that kind that's infused with chilli? Hell yeah baybee. It has goats cheese in it? Lmao yolo. Vegemite? You're toeing the line, but he'll try a piece.
Because honestly? He just likes being able to spend time with you.
Vergil
Not really into the heavy dark chocolates like some think. 70% (65% is that sweet spot) is his absolute limit because don't tell anybody this, buuuuuuut Vergil actually does have a bit of a sweet tooth.
He's very sensible about it though, doesn't tend to go overboard, and generally likes to pair something sweet with something that cleanses the palate afterwards.
He's a fan of all things peppermint
Yes, even gotdamn toothpaste.
Maybe that's why he takes forever to brush his teeth???
He just enjoys the cool, refreshing bite that mint has to it.
And I mean it also smells divine.
But as far as chocolate goes, give this boy some mint chocolate.
He'll even be happy with Aero.
He does understand that variety is important though.
So as a back up, bring in the white chocolate.
But it absolutely CANNOT be the gross, cheap, waxy kind.
You know the sort right? The kind that just feels and tastes like you're biting into a chunk of solid fat? That's a nono.
Bring him the Good Stuff. The kind you head to a chocolatier for. If it melts in his mouth, he will melt in your hands.
Although to be fair, if you get him at the right time, he does that anyway *wink wonk*
Nero
CARAMEL.
Ooey gooey caramel filling? Hidden salted caramel chunks to surprise him on every bite? SALTED CARAMEL OOEY GOOEY FILLING?
That's how Nero do.
Tangentially relevant: y'all know that Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavour right? Triple Caramel Chunk?
It has everything he likes in one convenient package - a rare indulgence for him whenever they can spare the money for it.
Really though, caramel is the fastest way to his heart.
But other avenues exist.
He sorta takes after his  uncle… ya know, by virtue of the fact he's known Dante a bit longer.
Having a similar carefree attitude means he's open to trying out different kinds of choccies.
Nico tried to get him to try tobacco chocolate before though…
Needless to say, that's where he draws the line.
Has a tendency to complain about unusual combinations until they end up in his mouth.
"Who the hell thinks of this stuff?"
"........huh. Well then."
The weirdest kind he's tried is shiitake mushroom chocolate.

Holiday Cookbooks: The Gift That Keeps On Cooking........
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know that I’m not alone when it comes to reading cookbooks similarly to the way one would read a novel. The cookbooks that interest me tell a story about the recipes and the author, or have a unique theme. Who else is a fan of single-subject cookbooks? Those that feature a certain ingredient in each of its recipes.
There are those who follow comedian Rita Rudner’s quote, “I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and say to myself, ‘well, that’s not going to happen.” However, they still enjoy a cookbook as a “prop”, or appreciate a beautiful coffee table book, where not one recipe is used, but the glossy cover has mouth-watering visuals.
This is the time of year when so many cookbooks are released; just in time for gift-giving season. Going through my ever-increasing collection, I picked some for you to consider as a gift for the cooks on your list. I am sure you will find one to buy for the cook-in-you too.
With kids spending more time at home these days, it is important to keep them occupied with fun activities. And, what child doesn’t enjoy spending time in the kitchen, and then enjoying the results of their efforts?  Written for 8 to 13 year olds, “The Complete DIY Cookbook for Young Chefs,” by the editors of America’s Test Kitchen (2020, $19.99)  teaches them to prepare common store-bought items from scratch.  From peanut butter, chocolate hazelnut spread, and apple sauce to bagel chips, cheddar cheese fish crackers, and strawberry Pop Tarts, to vanilla no-churn ice cream, hot fudge, pancake mix, hot cocoa mix, they probably won’t go back to store bought! The symbols for each recipe denote if the recipe is for a beginner, intermediate or advance recipe, and if the recipe requires the use of a knife, microwave, stove, oven or no knife or heat required. I found the pages dedicated to secrets for “Success in the Kitchen,” “Decoding Kitchenspeak,” “What’s Up With Ingredients?,” “How to Measure and Weigh,” and ”Essential Prep Steps,”  provide the perfect introduction to cooking. The “DIY Mixes” chapter details ways for kids to make homemade holiday gifts.
A companion book to the above title, is “Kitchen Explorers: 60+ Recipes, Experiments, and Games for Young Chefs,“ also by the editors of America’s Test Kitchen (2020, $12.99. The workbook format structures at-home learning, making it easy for parents to use the kitchen as a classroom. Experiments using food, interactive games and kid-centered recipes, allow youngsters to practice skills in a fun way. I particularly enjoyed the chapter on science experiments and activities, as I learned a few things along the way.  Experiments include “What Makes Fizzy Drinks Fizzy?,” “The Gooey Science of Melting Cheese,” Amazing Emulsions.” After the experiments are completed, the “Understanding Your Results” helps the learning process. The “For Grown-Ups” chapter, created by educational experts, helps guide learning and connect lessons in the workbook to school curriculum.  With “STEAM,” kids will learn how cooking involves Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.
Bakers and dessert lovers will appreciate “Holy Sweet!: 60 Indulgent Recipes for Bigger, Better Desserts,” by Peabody Johanson (2020, Page Street Publishing, $21.99).  Like the author, I have a sweet tooth too, so it has been added to my collection. This book was inspired by the author’s childhood favorites. Her introduction, mouth-watering photos, fun-to-read headnotes to each recipe, and  the creative creations drew me to the book. Johanson takes pies, cakes, cookies, and cupcakes and infuses them with flavors of cereal, ice cream, candy and booze. Think, Milky Way Pie, Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Bread Pudding, Cap’n Crunch Boston Cream Pie Layer Cake.  And perfect for the holidays, Peppermint Bark Red Velvet Layer Cake. Now don’t you feel like a kid in a candy store?
Brunch seems to have reemerged as a new craze. During the winter months, I prefer eating brunch, especially on Sundays. “Let’s Brunch: 100 Recipes for the Best Meal of the Week,” by Belinda Smith-Sullivan (2020, Gibbs Smith, $24.99) celebrates the meal that isn’t going away. The author writes in her introduction, “brunch just might become the new dinner party.” When life gets back to normal, this book will be a welcome addition to those who like to entertain. In the meantime, they have many recipes to explore. The chapter “Breads & Toppings,” has a recipe for one my favorites, Sweet Potato Buttermilk Biscuits.  Pannettone Grand Marnier French Toast, Brisket –Stuffed Herb Cornbread, with recipes for jams, syrup and flavored butters to round out the chapter. Starters include Smoked Salmon Blinis, plus Jumbo Shrimp and Lump Crab with Vodka Cocktail Sauce. Of course, Smith-Sullivan includes many egg dishes and sides. Desserts run the gamut with Lemon Curd and Gingersnap Trifle, Savory Spice Olive Oil Loaf Cake among others. And what brunch is complete without a cocktail? Pomegranate Mimosa, and Chef Belinda’s Creole Mary should fit the bill.
Cheese aficionados on your list will welcome I Heart Cheese: A Cookbook, 60 Ooey, Gooey, Delicious Meals for Serious Cheese Lovers, by Mihaela Metaxa-Albu (2020, Page Street Publishing, $19.99). The vivid photography of the dishes coupled with the elegant plating will make the reader want to get right to work, preparing the mouth-watering dishes using a variety of cheeses. I found the breakdown of the chapters by type of cheese helpful. Before each chapter’s recipes, there are details and nuances about the cheeses in the chapter with suggestions on how to draw out the best flavors of each cheese. Both sweet and savory dishes are included, such as Ricotta Coconut Almond Cake, Savory Chili and Grana Padano Cookies, Deconstructed Cheese Board Salad, Savory Pancakes with Crumbled Feta and Chives. The recipient will enjoy their journey to cheese heaven with these recipes.
One doesn’t have to be vegetarian or vegan to enjoy plant based cooking. This style of cooking is popular because of the growing interest in healthier eating and sustainability. “The Complete Plant Based Cookbook: 500 Inspired, Flexible Recipes for Eating Well Without Meat,” by the editors of America’s Test Kitchen (2020, $34.99), is the book to help its recipients prepare meals that are not only healthy where vegetables take the center of the plate, but in a tasty and creative way. I found the makeovers of comfort foods quite interesting. For example, PB & J transforms into Sautéed Grape and almond Butter Toast, featuring fresh grapes sautéed with lemon and thyme, topping crusty bread slathered with almond butter. The book gives the reader inspiration to create plant-forward meals that don’t use processed ingredients. And, those beautiful photos are inspiring, as are their renown signature headnotes; “Why this Recipe Works.”
What cookbook roundup list would be complete without one for chocoholics? I am sure you or someone on your list is one. From everyday recipes to more extravagant treats, Sabine Venier, author of “The Chocolate Addict’s Baking Book,” (2020, Page Street Publishing), shares tips and tricks on how to make it easy to incorporate chocolate into a plethora of dessert recipes. Now, who wouldn’t savor S’Mores Chocolate Cheesecake Bars, Zucchini Chocolate Olive Oil Bars, White Chocolate Carrot Cake Blondies, or Sweet Potato Chocolate Cinnamon Roll Pie, or Apple Cider Chocolate Macadamia Toffee? Venier’s flavor combinations are creative and meld well. For those that prefer standards, there are recipes for Soft Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies, Peanut Butter Cupcakes with Chocolate Frosting, Brooklyn Blackout Chocolate Cupcakes and Flourless Chocolate Cake.

Low Carb Comfort Foods: Comfort Beyond Breads And Pasta
What's the very first thing that comes to mind when someone requires you what you favorite comfort food is? Quarry is cooked macaroni and cheese that is a small bit
bakedcomfortfood
I really like to eat, therefore when the book Southern Living Ease Food found my desk I recently had to check on it out. Following skimming the list I see the foreword which is nearly as effective as the dishes!
A lot of the 150 ease food recipes are followed closely by full site shade photographs. Cases or images are particularly helpful to chefs like me that are interested in learning the ultimate presentation.
The book covers: comfort food classics, breakfast any time, new from the backyard, casseroles & beyond, soups & stews, desserts, and breaks & unique occasions.
The best comfort food, macaroni and cheese, is the very first formula in comfort food classics. Macaroni and cheese takes on a complete new indicating with the Three-Cheese Dinner Bake. That menu is followed closely by more of my favorites including Gonzales Meat Loaf, Buttermilk Garlic Crushed Apples, Lemon-Garlic Toast Chicken With Sauteed Green Beans, The Perfect Burger, French Fries, Chicken Pot Cake, Traditional Barbecue Bones, Chicken-Fried Meal, Pig Grinds, Cabbage, and Apples, and Mama's Fried Chicken.
Farmers Industry Scramble, Pimento Cheese Biscuits, Hash Brown Casserole, Buttermilk'n'Honey Pancakes, Cinnamon-Raisin Rolls, Waffles Benedict, and Carmel-Nut Pull-Apart Bread are just a some of the dishes included in morning meal anytime.
New from the backyard involves such tasty recipes as Homemade Applesauce, Corn Pudding, Crunch Melted Okra, Summertime Squash Casserole, and Fried Natural Tomatoes.
You would be the hit of the party whenever you appear with any of the dishes in casseroles & beyond. My favorites contain Chicken-and-Rice Casserole, Scalloped Potatoes With Pig, Saucy Manicotti, Taco Casserole, and Twice-Baked Mashed Potatoes. A novel method of ease food to move!
Sops & Stews involves two variations of chicken soup: Chicken-and-Wild Grain Soup and Chicken Noodle Soup. Dishes for "Baked" Potato Soup, Black Bean Soup, 30- Minute Chili, and Easy Brunswick Stew will also be on the list of soups and stews featured.
Memories are constructed with Old-Fashioned Peanut Butter Snacks, Big Oats Snacks, Double-Chocolate Brownies, Mississippi Dirt, Million-Dollar Lb Cake, Strawberry Pound Cake, and Peanut Butter Pie. The are just a choosing of the mouth-watering recipes in Desserts.
Thin Holiday Pork, Birthday Dessert, Origin Carry Cooked Beans, Popcorn Balls, Roast Chicken and Gravy, Cornbread Dressing, Pumpkin Chess Cake Peanut Butter Fudge, Mrs. Floyd's divinity, and Walter's Pecan Cake and you've a menu for every of the holiday season & specific occasions.
You will find that guide at your neighborhood public selection but you might want to pay $29.95 and buy it at the area bookstore. I believe that it is really worth the investment.
Ease food! Regardless of who we are, all of us have these tasty ingredients that produce every thing better. Macaroni and cheese. Crushed carrots and gravy. Doughnuts, biscuits, pies and cakes. New bread leaking with dissolved butter. Gooey cinnamon rolls. Chicken noodle soup. For many individuals, these food encompass heat, comfort and security. And for many people they encompass carbs. So what's a minimal carber to accomplish? How will you find your personal ease ingredients on a cool winter's evening and feel pleased and maybe not deprived? With several correct low carbs foods and several makeover recipes, you are able to stay on your diet and enjoy your comforts shame free!
Meats.
Minimal carb means large protein and often the protein arises from a meat source. Ease meals are often Wednesday roasts of all sorts and this really is one area where minimal carb comfort food shines. Roast a turkey and make your entire house scent such as for instance a holiday. Come up with a Dijon mustard, black peppercorn and olive oil rub and apple to a meat top circular roast. Bake a pig with a mustard sauce. Roast a perfect rib or even a strip roast. Marinate and prepare a pork tenderloin. Grill up a flank steak. Roast a couple of hens or perhaps a several Cornish sport hens. Produce plenty of extras so you can have areas through the entire week. Collection your table with the sliced carved meat and include several delicious minimal carbohydrate side meals for a weekend ease meal that has number similar!
Tumblr media
Eggs really are a great supply of protein and a delicious way to warm yourself up. Begin every day with a delightful omelet, using areas from your own Sunday roasts, new vegetables and cheese. Crumble pork sausage together with cheese, eggs, cream and veggies and make for a decadent and reassuring break fast casserole. Include product, bacon, swiss cheese and onion for a delightful quiche lorraine. Be creative with leftovers and create and develop frittatas, omelets, casseroles and more!
Lots of veggies are allowed on the reduced carbohydrate and others can be taken in moderation. But oahu is the potatoes and corn that many reduced carbers actually miss. Alternative cauliflower for an incredible and comforting option to crushed potatoes and you will not also skip the original. Water the cauliflower, strain, and adding product, butter and shredded cheese. Mash together and offer along side your primary dish. Dice up some of your outstanding meat toast, add a vessel of meat gravy and offer on the cauliflower mash. Put diced natural onion and clean cash for "filled cooked potato" mashed cauliflower. Take different reduced carb veggies and create hot and new mix frys. Warm up alfredo or cheddar cheese sauce and offer around steamed broccoli, asparagus and more. Stir sliced vegetables in to meat broth with leftover meat to create a delicious and heating meat plant soup. Get broccoli, chicken broth, cheese and treatment to produce a decadent broccoli cheese soup. Appreciate simple steamed greens with true creamery butter. The sky may be the restrict!
