Sunflower Valentine

Higurma Masterlist
Tumblr media
Imagine leaving Higuruma a bouquet of sunflowers on his desk on Valentine's day.
He'll quickly deduce that whoever left them was making a play on his name and his career as a lawyer. So it's someone he knows.
Although he'd prefer roses if someone was leaving him flowers, he's flattered nonetheless that there's a person believing he's bouquet worthy.
The little card that came with them says 'To balance out your gloominess'.
He'll chuckle to himself 'Gloomy? I'm not gloomy. Broody perhaps.'
The rest of his day is spent trying to figure out who sent them, and he'll have a goofy grin on his face whenever he glances at them. He'll try his best to draw attention to them every time someone comes in the room, like he's not so discreetly saying 'someone sent me a Valentine's bouquet!'
"Pretty bouquet." You comment as you walk in to hand him a report.
"Oh, noticed them did you? Looks like I'm popular around here," he'll drawl, trying not to look too pleased with himself.
"Or it could mean someone doesn't want to look at you again."
His smugness fades. "What do you mean?"
"Oh cmon, you know the old Greek tale? Apollo turned his lover Clytie into a sunflower so that he'd never have to look at her face again after she betrayed him to a sea nymph."
His cheer immediately drops and you feel bad for him. "But I doubt that. Very few people know that fact. I'm sure whoever sent them intends to see your face again. Perhaps the next day morning."
"Next day morning?" he sounds confused.
You nod your head. "Yeah. Sunflowers need to be plucked in the early morning otherwise they wilt. So maybe whoever sent them was hoping they'd see your face the next morning after you've... Wilted."
You give him a playful smirk and walk out.
"Wilted...? What...?"
It takes a few seconds before the cogs in his brain start work.
"Hold on now y/n!"
He scrambles out of the office behind you.

Would the equivalent of Eris throwing the golden apple for the fairest in the DC universe be taking a black haired blue eyed baby named Trinity and dropping them off at the Watchtower with a note that says "For the parent"?
Sleep deprived musings, don't take it too seriously, I just really love the idea of seeing a kid tossed to the Justice League and the trying to decide who loves the kid the most while string maps and conspiracy theories abound.
But, who out of the DC Trinity (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman) would be fighting to raise this baby and why? Are multiple heroes the parents? Are none of them?
Or whatever ship or fanon idea that this inspires in your mind
I'd love to hear either.

Happy Halloween!
I have finally finished the WIP!
Who knew the colouring would take so long! 😮‍💨 I was originally going to do a Castlevania AU for my Zodiac OCs (these are two of them) but I couldn’t find a good reference for the scene I wanted so I decided why not do some trick or treating?
Sebastian is dressed as Hercules since he’s Greek and a demigod, I was originally going to have him as Rapunzel but I thought about in universe and no way would Selene allow her son to wear a dress so he’s Herc instead. Scorps is a Grimm Reaper because let’s just say he has a connection to Death.
I love how their adorable expressions came out especially Sebastian’s, I will come up with any excuse to draw him starry-eyed.
Have a fun time Trick-or-Treating! Happy Halloween 🎃

heartbreak hotel.
is this heartbreak?
the mighty arrow of eros has missed the target and slid between the cracks,
sunken deep into the underworld where love and death dance together in a miserable harmony.
your hands wrapped around my heart,
and your claws sunk deep into the flesh until it bled out.
are you satisfied with yourself,
are you content with the decisions you've made?
you played me so well but how can i blame you,
when i provided the instruments and the sheet music.
chords of my life present on a document for you to change and alter,
to advance your plan with me.
our song was light and airy,
then the pitch dropped to the pits of hell and wobble as they
try to increase in octave.
who will understand my cries and screeches of agony as i,
hold tightly to the remains i have of you
is this heartbreak?
metaphorically describing you because my mouth can't keep up with the correlation between my heart, right hand, a pen, and a sheet of paper.
indeed it is.

The divine Irony and its delusions
The moon and the sun dancing in the blue sky
The savage and the civilized coming from the same divine womb.
In their meetings dawn and dusk are born, ephemeral existences destined to die with speed with an aura of slowness.
There was once a man who wanted to dominate the Sun, a perverse Icarus who succeeded. But he forgot, that the Sun has the moon; Helios has Selene; that Apollo has Artemis.
How little his reign lasted, from Icarus to Actaeon in one movement he became, for the Moon knows no forgiveness.
Paul, still with his face covered with his blood and blows, looked at the young woman above him.
He wanted to laugh, not at her but at him. He had already known when he had put the beast to sleep, like Orpheus with Cerberus, that she would take it out on him.
But, the stolen kiss and being tamed still seemed to be a secret that only he knew. The reasons why the fierce chestnut attacked was because he had been caught trying something with Apollo. Renfield was the one who discovered him and decided to attack him, that made Unier, Cesare and Diana go to see what was going on.
With Apollo unable to give a clear judgment, the huntress decided to be the executioner and punish them both.
Renfield to calm him down, Paul.... to avenge his brother.
He must have imagined it, even he had predicted his fate: Diana Belmont would take her toll sooner or later.
The horrible thing about all this is that, unconsciously, Diana had also stolen something from him.
He stole a forgotten kiss, she stole a sick hidden orgasm.
Nygma didn't care who took control, though he'd rather be the one pulling all the strings, but he liked passionate.
And the blows Diana was throwing at him were so passionate and chaotic that it triggered something in Paul.
The redhead felt embarrassed, outraged and furious with the young woman.
But the proximity only caused him to provoke more sounds that the young woman never thought to hear from his mouth.
But that didn't stop her from doing her job: getting rid of Paul.
For a moment she had to abandon her stern, wild and capricious nature, her Dionysian nature, and play the role of her brother.
With serenity, he spared Paul's life. With balance, he banished him from the Belmont estate. And with the same whimsy that Apollo sometimes had, she did not let him go without first giving him a reminder.
Now Paul had the mark of the Belmont whip on his arm.
Diana did not hit him with the force to draw blood, but with one to leave a mark.
And that was the last thing he saw before he collapsed from the pain.
What a stupid man who thinks he can tame a god!
That without consequences he would be left.
That only by not believing in them he would have been spared.
But his vanity blinded him and his fall was heard with a roar.
Only his words of ego and sensationalism remain of him, whose destiny is to feed the great divine abyss.

No no no, you don't understand. "We've got forever to figure out what the rest means" is Charles making sure that they don't end up like Orpheus and Eurydice, even if it's subconsciously because he never finished the ending of the myth. Because if Charles would have stopped to think through what Edwin fully meant by what he said, or stopped to think through how he feels and give him a longer response based on that, even for just a second of consider, the demon monster thing would've gotten to Edwin. The confession was to Charles what Orpheus turning to find Eurydice was. "Oh if Charles actually reciprocated Edwin's feelings he would have told him then" is the exact same vibes as "If Orpheus really loved Eurydice he wouldn't have turned around", in the sense that no, because Charles and Orpheus loved Edwin and Eurydice so much, even if for the former it was something that would never develop into more, they did what they had to. The only difference is that Edwin and Charles have "forever to work out the rest", they survived to be able to have at least that, while Orpheus and Eurydice don't, and are deemed a tragedy.

there's a lot to say about the modern depictions of medusa and all, but one of my biggest pet peeves is that it also portrays perseus as some sort of macho glory seeking ass who kills women for clout. like, he was protecting his mom. his mom was being forced into an abusive marriage and he took on a seemingly impossible task to save her.

for Odysseus’ name to become synonymous with journey; Odyssey- he has lost his humanity; even after he dies and his body burnt to ashes on a pyre he won’t enter Hades. he will be damned to a thousand more journeys, a thousand more trials and a thousand more deaths. his spirit floats through the plays that recite his journey, echoes through the songs sung about him, his pain seeks through every epithet. Sacker of cities. Great glory of the Achaeans. Mastermind of war. Master mariner. Man of pain.
he will be damned time and time again to suffer and reach home for it to be torn out of his grasp each time. he will reach where the river styx fades into Hades and see the descent and before he can feel relief he is back where he started. He is in Troy. He is in a boat in an unfamiliar land, but it has his name. He is in Troy again, but not the same one he raided and burnt. he is floating through the aether. he is not a man anymore. nor is he monster. he is a Thing, an Ideal; akin more to Thanatos or Hypnos or Eris in he is no longer Odysseus he is the personification of journey.
If there truly are three deaths; one of the mind, one of the heart, and one of the memory. then Odysseus has become immortal and yet he begs for death. he no longer knows whether he begs for the peace of Hades or to truly be forgotten, to truly cease to be

When people say "the Greek gods should be ethnically Greek in Hades" they mean white.
Like they literally mean that they want all the Greek Gods to be white in the game
No, they don't mean culturally, if they wanted to talk about culture they wouldn't have brought up the word "ethnicity" and equal that to race (ethnicity doesn't mean just race, it can also mean a shared tradition or shared language, so yes, POC can be ethnically Greek if they had lived all their lifes there)
And it's so silly because like, oh, then Chaos isn't "greek" either because they're Grey and there aren't any actual Grey Greeks?
Also they're Gods! They can be anything they want, like sure, Zeus can be a swan and that's fine, but if he was a man with dark skin, that's too much?
They aren't criticizing the cultural hegemony the US has, they're just being racist and then masking their racism with "progressive" language
And then people here go and be like "Oh, poor little white people!! They have a right to demand a game without POC because it's their culture!!!"
Like what?
I'm sorry but you do remember that Greek mythology has been used, and is still being used as far right propaganda?
Like do you remember that the protagonists of the games are white and green eyed (on one eye) and the only POC are on secondary roles!?
(There can be a valid criticism about cultural hegemony in Hades, but this, isn't that)
