Okay...I know my birthday was yesterday, but I really wanted to draw something for myself and I've also been wanting to share my art here, so I figured this would be a great time to post this! (I would've done it earlier but it was literally like 12 in the morning when I finished this and I was busy all day today)
Anywho, here's a doodle of one of my many Duros OCs I made as a late birthday gift for myself :D I probably could've done better, but I was SUPER tired and my performance is not that great when I'm drained lmfao
Shoutout to my dear friends @linminty @twixedworlds and @white-knight7255 for encouraging me to post this since I'm particularly nervous about my first post here!!! I love y'all <333
Ik this isn't the best, but I think it turned out alright. I hope y'all like it and let me know if you want to see more of my art! :))) Hopefully I can cook up some better pieces soon! ^^

Today, Jonathan is extraordinarily bemused and put-off by the fact that people in Romania, like, deep in the Daco-Romance area, would speak other languages than English and German. Jonathan is kind of a dimwit, but I'm frankly more shocked that his landlord understood Jonathan at any point at all, what with what he claims to be German...
He then gets into a whinefest on how uncomfortable people make him; can't they be more cheery about his imminent visit at Castle Dracula? He's having queer dreams about it, dangit; let this man have a gay old time! When he's trying to learn more, the landlord's wife introduces him to the concept of Star Wars Day May the Force St. George's Day (which Wikipedia tells me was observed on April 23, but let's not bother Mr. Stoker with that spicy bit). She also gifts him her... uh... crucifix? Rosary? I dunno; he uses both words interchangably, but then she hangs it around his neck, and who wears a rosary around their neck? I'll tell you who doesn't. Observant Catholics. And seeing as the point seems to be that she is one (or an Eastern Orthodox, for that matter), it's probably not a rosary. Let's just call that thing a crucifix necklace, and this a day.
Jonathan, as a sophisticated Anglican (heh), is supremely unimpressed and patronizes for a bit about this piece of "idolatry", having not cottoned on to either the kind meaning of the gift nor to the vibe that communicates something is not quite right around here. I am greatly amused by this ignorant ungratefulness and looking foward to his impending torment.

when i was in art school my teacher kept yelling "MIX ALL THE COLORS WITH SOMETHING NEVER USE COLOR STRAIGHT FROM THE BOTTLE FACTORY COLORS ARE HIDEOUS" and i was always like ?????? because i actually did love bottle colors
fast forward 789 years and i totally get where she was coming from– bottle colors are incredibly synthetic and one dimensional, the pigments are mixed in very minimalist formulas in order to be easily mass produced and therefore bottle colors, acrylics gouaches oil paint whatever have you, the bottle color is very one dimensional and uniform. When you mix you're essentially baking the colors, so they end up looking richer and more multidimensional, also closer to how they happen in nature
i learnt this by staring at flat photoshop colors on my screen and hating them with every fiber of my being
