No spoilers but are you going to see Across the Spider-Verse? I predict The Spot as totally prime FO material
I'M CRYING I LITERALLY JUST GOT BACK FROM SEEING ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE AND YOU GOT ME!!!!! I ADORE HIM SO MUCH 🙈🙈🙈💖💖💖 SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT!!!!!
Tumblr media
look at him, he's perfect!!! he's cringefail, he's a malewife, he wields impossible amounts of power, he's an egotistical scientist AND he literally kicked his own ass...i'm genuinely in love 🥴💖 is there anything more thrilling than seeing a jokey 'villain of the week' transformed into a chilling existential threat to the multiverse?? his build-up was executed so perfectly...you really sympathise with the horror of The Spot's plight, how he's been maligned and ostracised from everything he knew and everyone he loved...how he doesn't even have a face anymore. a complete erasure of identity coupled with the ability to warp reality...such a glorious set-up for a character to completely lose his fucking mind. babygirl deserves it ⚫ confession: i was already eyeing The Spot before going in as i'm always intrigued by any villain, especially if they're a fun, niche, gimmicky sort. plus he's played by Jason Schwartzman, who most know for playing Gideon Graves in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (a very early crush 😳)...i knew he was going to deliver a killer performance even if he didn't end up OP, and hoo boy, i don't think any of us were disappointed 🙈 i just loved how right from the start, even though he's embarrassing and uncoordinated, you can tell he has an ego and a thirst to be better than others around him. the way his desperation builds and his focus on Spider-Man as the reason for all of his problems is delicious. ohh, i love how insane he is. i love how crazy his powers are (and all the potential that comes with them 😉). i love how awful he is too. 100000/10 🔥🔥🔥 listen, the whole movie was absolutely astonishing from start to finish and jam-packed with amazingly designed characters, jaw-dropping moments and i don't even need to say a word about the animation, holy shit. but the one thing i walked away thinking was 'oh my god i need more of The Spot right now';;;; with the amount of fanart pouring in it seems many people are in agreement - i can't wait to see what folks come up with while we wait for the next instalment :3c if anyone is being cheeky and looking at spoilers without having seen the movie, seeing if they should, my God please do it!!!!!! 💖💖💖 oh one last thing - my mind is all scrambled because of how amazing the movie is and how much was packed into the 2 hour+ timeframe, but. there's a moment where The Spot gives this evil little chuckle. and i swear i got goosebumps 🙈🙈🙈 can't wait for the movie to leak in high quality to make edits with this hole-filled little freak;;;;
what do you guys think of The Spot? 👀

Can you write something for reversed!AU? (the one where they are playing an otome game of MC, maybe if you want MC to get isekai'd there too) thank you !!!
Yeah of course I can anon! I also saw your other message and that is fine! Mc uses she/her pronouns here- I’m sorry to other people
Lucifer
When his brothers started playing a harem game, he thought it was stupid and wanted them to focus on their school work
Then he sees a certain character… mc?
she is stunning
so he subtly decides to download it. He claims it’s to see what they are so excited about
he ends up grinding for your cards when he has time
and he likes the fan service of you
he tried to delete it but he couldn’t last a day
he actually really liked the game
when his brothers find out he struggles to explain
Mammon
He starts playing after he sees Levi playing it
he was whining that he didn’t have enough energy to do a battle
he was intrigued so he downloaded it
he thinks you’re the best character. Definitely his favourite for your personality and looks
dont start him on the fanservice. You can tell when it’s on from his flushed looks
he may have some merch too
Leviathan
He was very excited for the games release
he thinks your character is really cool from the start
he has cosplayed you before
he will go on to his brothers about you and how you are amazing in every way
he prefers you to Ruri-chan
he can’t wait for the anime!
merchmerchmerch
probably has a body pillow of you
Satan
Levi wouldn’t shut up about the plot and it sounded… interesting
he thinks your character is interesting. Your back story is not said and he’s determined to find out
he will raise your intimacy level high above the others
originally it’s not a conscious thing but it does become one when he realises he prefers you over all the other girls in there
he will sketch you sometimes and write about you
he talks to Levi in front of the brothers about it just to piss off lucifer
Asmodeus
Asmodeus falls for your amazing face when he sees the game trailer
theres no harm in trying out the game
he thinks he’ll only have it a few days and not prioritise it
hes very wrong
like very wrong
its all he can think about at times, gifting your character, watching your face light up
Beelzebub
Beel plays it because everyone else is
he thinks your character is very pretty and has a nice personality
whoever Wrote you must know what a nice person truly is
wishes you existed irl
he us not as innocent as you think with fan service you know
he won’t talk about the game but he does enjoy it
Belphegor
Belphie plays it because beel did
he starts prioritising events over sleep
and grinding for your new cards
he thinks your character is very attractive if they were real
he also thinks the game is worth all the talk Levi gives it
he probably has a body pillow but not for sinful reasons to sleep on
Diavolo
We all know he will find out through lucifer
he thinks it’s what all the youths do: either lucifer or youthful fun 101 told him
he likes it a lot
he has money to spare too
like he spends a lot on getting your new cards
your intimacy level is really high
he also has you as his strongest
loves your design
might have merch
Barbatos
Hell only play in his spare time
yet still manages to get lots of good cards and stay updated
he also loves MC- she’s awesome
reminds him of himself
his favourite card of you is ‘the dutiful maid’
Plays because Diavolo wanted him too
Simeon
He’s not good at technology but this helps him
he loves playing the game- even if he had trouble downloading it
favourite character is MC no questions asked
he will not save for 10 pulls, he only does 1 pulls
Solomon
He plays because asmo does
he thinks your character is cute and grinds for new cards
you seem kind of shady but he still loves you
he has seen fanart
tried to cook your favourite dish from the game and it’s awful
he is really good at the game surprisingly

Day and Night Rikuo is in my "Top Blorbos from different fandoms" because well.. for day Rikuo he tries his best to be a nice person which is something i respect :] And he's just so. scrunkly. I love it, i also love how polite he is compared to his night form and speaking of Night Rikuo, he's a chill and nonchalant and also sassy, there's just something intriguing about nonchalant, sassy men... (Cough, Kaeya) I also adore his design like?? Peak, IT'S SO AWESOME !! I hate drawing his hair tho
Yura my beloved, her design is simple yet appealing and also, SHE'S BADASS!! I LOVE BADASS WOMEN!! She's also a dumbass at times (Shes just like me fr) I also love her personality and how caring she is, best girl best girl :]] Also her shikigamis are awesome

I only have one least favorite thing among these and it's Tsurara's character being centered around Rikuo :(
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
Moon Knight or Cookie Run !! Moon Knight because they would just fit the whole supernatural setting and Cookie Run because i want to see them as cookies
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
Cult of Dionysus. ITS SO NURA CLAN CODED??
6. What's something you have in common with this character?
For Rikuo, it's his humbleness and the whole “Trying to fit in”thing, oh and there's also the casual attitude and “oi”
For Yura, the black eyes, dumbassery and the rambling about one's interest when she first appeared... for the anime at least teehee
Tsurara? Willing to die for loved ones
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
They make Rikuo gorgeous in fanarts and fanfics
They capture Tsurara's cuteness

11. Would you date this character?
Nah, i'm not interested
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
Little Tsurara used to make snowflakes to make Little Rikuo happy whenever he was crying
Rikuo wears eye contacts in his Night form, since he's nearsighted so when Gyuuki and Tengu trained him after he just woke up, he was having difficulty seeing whats happening in front of him
Yura likes comedy! She also reads manga on her freetime
13. What's an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot?

GIVE KIYOTSUGU MORE SCREENTIME !! MAKE HIM AND RIKUO MORE CLOSE !!
21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?
Haven't wrote Tsurara and Yura
Currently writing Rikuo and i love incorporating the differences between his day and night form !! I don't like having to choose fancy words for him to use :|
22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?
Well, i love seeing them being traumatized and going through the horrors, teehee :3
It kinda feels weird whenever Night and Day Rikuo acts the same like if its an au then yeah, i understand but if its canon then.. eh

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

It was funny at first, depictions of the hydrated Ganondorf, but I believe Nintendo saw this and decided to sell this image to the mainstream audience buying their game.
The success of tall Lady D dominating the RE 8 advertisements also helps to support this as Twitter was very 'down bad' for her and really helped with sales.
I don't doubt that the rehydrated phenomena surrounding Ganondorf following the reveal trailer for Tears of the Kingdom had a hand in influencing TotK Ganondorf's final design. This might be the second time they use Ganondorf specifically as a selling point of the game (the same had been done for Twilight Princess in order to attract fans of OoT following the grumblings around Wind Waker's toonish design). Mind you, however, that the design elements present on dehydrated Ganondorf were very reminiscent of what we did see in the final design (and many rehydrated designs by fans were not that far off from his final look as a result), but I feel like they may have tried to lean in more on the sexy factor. The sexy villain that everyone loves to thirst after and objectify is nothing new. It's the danger and intrigue, the ability to imagine yourself with this person or monster who is dangerous, cunning, manipulative, and murderous in a way where they can't actually hurt you in turn. This is a fascination that has been with people for ages. It's a great selling point for a character and the story they came from. Personally, when it comes to Ganondorf, I'm not going to lie and pretend I don't find him insanely attractive physically. I have since his OoT days. I have written my fair share of nsfw stories that range from vanilla to questionable, and have indulged in my very, very fair share of fanart and fanfic of that nature. However, it's all the other baggage Ganondorf comes with that people lean into along with the sexualization that...bothers me I would say. There is something disturbing about Ganondorf being not only a man of the desert, but the only man of the desert, being portrayed as someone who not only sexually ravenous, but super duper sexually ravenous because he has to satisfy all his women somehow, and then leaning into that sexual rabidness in order to defile the "holy sanctity of Hyrule" aka Link and Zelda because that is what he would do obviously, right? Then you have the other end of the spectrum where his sexuality is used to portray submission to Hyrule and its light, where he has accepted the goodness and light and see he doesn't fuck like an animal anymore, great. It's like people can't see Ganondorf as a...person with a normal way of looking at his own sexuality. Of course this is not the biggest issue for me; for me it is the fact that Ganondorf is an extreme exaggeration of how the dirty desert terrorist man is often portrayed. Nintendo didn't have to insert any of that in an obvious way for people to draw that conclusion, and I suppose that's where some of my discomfort lies.
This doesn't even touch on how suddenly we're faced with the biggest terrorist darkness of Hyrule being a canonical bisexual/queer icon and all the implications of that when it comes to sexual depravity... EDIT: What I mean is that, the extreme sexuality that surrounds Ganondorf is a very deeply ingrained facet of Orientalism. The white, refined European man had to save these beautiful women from their savage men who would keep them all enclosed in the harem, men who had multiple women and oppressed them and kept them hidden away so that they may be the only ones to indulge in the beauty of their women and partake in them sexually. BotW/TotK really leaned into *that* part with all the men trying to get into Gerudo Town.

[Respectfully, to break the trend I’m currently doing, and to be funny…Meep. Hi. :)
I’m politely not breaking and entering into your ask box. I am politely entering my head in to leave a silly appreciation message <3]
So hello Meep! I hope that you and your followers are having a good day today.
It’s me, Fandom from Instagram. Finally got a Tumblr account haha
I really appreciate your Cryptid Sightings fanart, but also the other content that you create as well.
The way you draw your different designs always intrigues me. It’s impressive with what you come up with and I love reading the info behind them if you leave notes in the post about them!!
(Ex: Like how you came up with one of your CS!Eclipse designs, I recall you breaking down the clawed feet he had based on certain animal anatomy for an ask. I really liked reading it, since it provided a great insight into your creative process!! 🙌)
I’m kinda a noob at knowing about different animal anatomies, but I find it wonderful that you incorporate that knowledge into the artwork you produce :D
So thank you for not only serving groundbreaking pieces of work that make me go “🤯‼️” every time, but also providing the details behind it.
I don’t see all of your works, but I liked the art piece you posted not so long ago on Instagram with the person hugging that giant frog. It was very cute!! Gave me some Studio Ghibli vibes tbh
And every time you create fanart for Naff? And when she reblogs it?
I just. *Staring* so disrespectfully at all of the yummy shading, sketch lines, the lighting - the poses??? Hello???
Everything from the angst to the fluff gets me Meep. I’m not normal about your stunning art like. Help 😭💔
Eating it all up like it’s the finest cuisine 😮‍💨🍽️
Odbdodno but anyways!!
Sorry this is very short, but I promise once I reblog your fanart I’m going to scream and cry at you in the tags >:)/pos
Thank you for your time if you see/or answer this!!
🫶🫶🫶
I shall now throw my heart emojis at you for more appreciation
💖💖💖💖💕💕💕❣️❣️❣️❣️🩷🩷🩷💜💜💜💝💝💝💝‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

who was the first genshin character who caught your eye?
Thank you for the question! Since you asked, I’ll talk about how I got attached to some characters I like near the beginning
(slightly suggestive in first bit)
I will be completely honest and say some time before I finally convinced myself to download the game in early 2021, I saw a greyscale fanart of a smug & shirtless Kaeya. So visually speaking, I suppose it was his face that first caught my eye… haha
(I didn’t know his name back then so I described the fanart to a friend who played the game. I must’ve seen a full-colour illust of Kaeya too before that.)
Friend: what colour
Me: blue
Me: uh.. it’s “Kaeya” I think…?
Friend, jokingly: OF COURSE IT’S KAEYA IT’S ALWAYS KAEYA
Still, I didn’t start playing the game back then (I’m the type to do a ton of research on a game to see if it’s worth investing my time into, and even back then the artifact system felt complicated) and only read a few reader inserts of him. And drew fan art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shortly after (or before?) I started playing I went onto the Chinese wiki and read his entire backstory since I didn’t have the patience to unlock them by Friendship Level, and here we are. I really started appreciating Kaeya after that, and I think last autumn/winter I thought, “Kaeya was able to succeed and rise to such a high position in the knights despite all the hardships he went through, so I should be hopeful too.”
This piece was from a long time after, when I finally got to Act III of the Prologue. (I was a very casual player. Maybe even back then I had doubts about the game design.) Maybe I was moody when I did the sketch, but it was pretty fun to colour it haha (I’d like to try colouring like this again)
Tumblr media
Before I started playing, I was also interested in Venti (because a friend liked him) BUT ALSO because of Circus-P’s Venti fan song “Last Words” (ft. Len Kagamine & Fukase). I thought it told the story in an interesting way. (I’m a VOCALOID fan so I like narrative music videos.) Even cried watching @gierosajie’s fan animatic to the song (wait hold on it’s This Artist I just realized- If you see this, I’d like to say it’s still a wonderful animatic❤️). I must’ve also watched the official cutscene animation “The Boy and the Whirlwind” and thought it was cool too.
But in terms of official character art, I think I was aware of the game around the time the 1.3 first Lantern Rite began, meaning 1.2 was just tying up, and I must’ve come across the key visual of Albedo and thought “I don’t know if that’s a man or a woman but damn their hair looks nice.” Watched the 1.2 trailer and thought Dragonspine looked cool. Eventually I also read his backstory on a wiki and got interested in him.
Tumblr media
2.3 dropped and I did his Story Quest near the end of the event, and thought he was very polite and felt the quest was intimate (because of how he showed interest in the Traveler). I didn’t get the chance to personally do the event back then so based on the trailer I had a loose theory Albedo lost control just like how he said he might (at the end of his quest) and the corruption turned his Vision from Geo to Cryo and something about Kaeya’s lineage and Kaeya freaking out that Albedo knows about it, haha.. Eventually I learned of the three Albedos plot and waited for basically a year before watching the play-through itself, and here we are (again).
Tumblr media
Inevitably, I find myself intrigued by characters who went through trauma, and how it shapes them in the past and affects them in the future… It’s interesting to see what they’ll do, how far they’ll go forward despite that.

God I fucking hate Alatori the Vani so fucking much holy shit. Holy shit, every frame he's in, every scene, every gif, every jpeg, he's got this painfully vacant, stupid as shit, fuckass look on his stupid cetacean face. Absolutely no part of his ugly as sin piece of shit character design is endearing. His stupid fucking mist tail? Who the hell makes a dolphin with a mist tail. His dumb flaily fucking arms? His shitty, smooth bastard head? The three thousand percent unnecessary dumbass shitass fucking FLESHY HORN TENDRILS that no dolphin has EVER FUCKING HAD IN tHE HISTORY OF GOD'S GREEN FUCKING EARTH? God, I hate him. I hate him so much. So FUCKING much. Every time I see the fucking Arbitrary Sermon music video or an Alatori gif or shitty goddamn fanart, it ignites my primal rage response and I'm overcome by the need to punt this shitty little alien into the fucking sun. "Bhurr blur, I'm Alatori the fuckshit alien fucker, give into the impulse". Fuck you. Fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you. You look like Gamzee Makara summoned a patronus. Your dumb fucking jestears makes your whole shitty head look like a goddamn Digimon. I hate your dumb fucking clown frills and your stupid, multicolored ringed eyes and your over-the-top charismatic ass upbeat cult leader personality. Any scene he's happy in invokes all the wrath and fury of a spoiled child having a meltdown over a chocolate bar in a w*lmart checkout line. And I know its irrational. That's the worst part. I know he's just a shitty fucking a character in a stupid fucking Vocaloid song, I know it doesn't matter, I know I shouldn't care. But that's part of the problem. The part where no matter the might and fury of my hatred, the locus of my homicidal intent is alltogether inconsequential. I find myself laying awake in the dark in the early hours of the morning consumed by the spirit of Wrath itself, all the force and might of a flaming hurricane directed at a bottle of piss in a ditch by the highway. The absurdity of it all burns me to my core. What better things could this energy be directed towards? And yet my disdain for this stupid, useless, insubstantial failure of endearing character design utterly eclipses the intrigue of all other pursuits. I hate him. I hate him on a level of my mind reserved for the worst of the world's array of sinners, and I can't even begin to justify it. Shitstick the impulse dick is, for all intents and purposes, the animated corpse of all of humanity's saccharine pretenses- every condescending, passive-aggressive statement of meaningless upper middle class suburban drama distilled into a single, hateable form. The fucking. Fuck. I have no words. There is no cuss or epithet in any language that can encapsulate the height of the emotions I am experiencing. God, I hate him so much. I hate him so, so fucking much. I want to light his ugly little projection body on fire. I want to graphically beat him to death with his own stupid fucking back pins. I want to punch him to death. You know that weird feeling you get, when you see a picture of something so cute you find yourself overcome with the bizarre, inexplicable urge to squeeze it? It's EXACTLY like that, except instead of cuteness it's disgust. The wordless knowledge that his existence as a fictional work is evidence of all the failures of mankind. I find myself possessed by the will of a Holy Angel gone rogue with the belief that God has made a mistake, and I alone must correct it. This is the trial by which Samael himself fell from grace. This wild, meaningless rage. A thousand blades of shining steel cast with inhuman force in the direction of a plastic grocery bag floating on a breeze. What horrors must I have committed in a past life to be plagued by this torment now? I must Unmake this fictional dolphin

My OC: Holly Reed
Tumblr media
(Piccrew: https://picrew.me/image_maker/98358)
Holly will be one of the three OC protagonists in my upcoming Naruto isekai, Who You Are At Night.
Age: 22
Birthday: December 2
Home: Orlando, Florida (in the Real World)
Occupation: Fan artist specializing in R34 of Naruto characters
Internet Name: Ai-sama
Favorite Naruto Character/Love Interest: Gaara
Background (under the cut because it’s long):
Holly always liked to draw. But whereas other kids drew happy things like their families, Holly drew the spooky stuff like ghosts and zombies. She also had a strange fascination with skulls and liked to collect them. Other kids were freaked out by her and wanted nothing to do with her. So she kept to herself, doing her thing and wishing for a real friend.
She had a near death experience at age 8, when she went swimming with some cousins and an alligator took exception to her presence. Her family were able to free her from the gator and, when she returned from the hospital, served her fried alligator as a treat for surviving and gifted her an alligator skull. Gator is now her favorite food, and Gus the Christmas Gator (complete with Santa hat) guards the entrance to her room. She also has scars from the incident all along her right arm where the gator grabbed her.
She kept her hand in the arts as she went through school. She learned to paint as well as draw. She attempted to sculpt and nearly blew up the kiln. And most importantly, she did theatre, where she met a popular girl named Mariana (Holly onstage, Mariana making costumes and doing hair/makeup). The two were able to find common ground and become friends, and before long, Mariana was the only person Holly trusted to do her hair and makeup, which still persists to this day.
Holly still remained unpopular, but she didn’t care since she had finally made One Real Friend.
Holly didn’t discover anime until her mid teens, when Mariana (already a massive weeb) dragged her to a meeting of the school’s anime club. Here, she became intrigued after watching shows like Fruits Basket and Soul Eater, and began the long journey into fandom hell so many of us are familiar with. This is also where they met Evie.
She started drawing fanart of the anime she was watching at the time and posting it to DeviantArt, which started getting her attention. She hung out with Actual Friends, watching shows and watching each other do stuff (Evie was an athlete). She even started dating, getting her first boyfriend. For the first time in her life, she started to feel happy.
And then, each of them went through The Worst Time, a monumentally horrific incident in each of their lives that drastically altered everything. (Which I will wait to disclose until I post the actual story)
Holly’s happened last, when she was 17. And what happened utterly destroyed her. She no longer had the desire to create, or go to school, or to even get out of bed. She just hated everything. She wanted to stop existing.
And unfortunately, Holly’s parents and boyfriend were zero help. Her parents were the of the “therapy does nothing, just be happy” mindset, so she wasn’t able to get into therapy until much later when she could afford it on her own. And her boyfriend informed her that she was “damaged goods” and dumped her.
It took her a very long time, and a lot of love from Mariana and Evie (including the three moving in together), to be able to start existing again.
But one of the things that helped her recover, interestingly enough, was the show Naruto. Evie was playing through Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, and Holly happened to see her play through the section with the Five Kage Summit. She became intrigued, especially by Gaara, and wanted to know more. So the three started watching through Naruto together.
Holly started drawing again, this time drawing fanart of the Naruto characters. She tended to favor Gaara, as she not only loved his design, but also admired his journey out of the darkness, but happily drew anyone that struck her fancy.
She also discovered the R34 community and, after attempting to draw it herself, found that she really enjoyed it.
She got better and better. She started doing commissions and selling art, and decided that this was the career path she wanted to take. By the time of the story, Holly’s become known as Ai-sama, one of the most well known R34 artists in the community, and also a “love expert.” (Half of the questions she gets at her convention panels are about sex and romance rather than art)
And then she gets sucked into the Naruto world and gets smacked with the fact that the fictional characters she’s been drawing naked are now real.
Other fun stuff:
She gets cold very easily. You’ll rarely see her in shorts/tank tops even though she lives in Florida.
She worked at Disney World for a bit while she was getting started to help pay her bills.
Incidentally, she really hates the song “it’s a small world” and will consider murder if you start singing or playing it.
She doesn’t do theatre anymore (no time), but her playlists are full of Broadway music, and she can sing really well as well as play the piano and ukulele.
Can speak three languages: English, Spanish, and Japanese.
LOVES tabletop games. Her favorites are Betrayal at House on the Hill and Dead of Winter.
She is a DM for Evie and Mariana (and some other friends) in D&D.
She is deathly afraid of spiders.
She will have powers! (My OCs will all be overpowered and awesome OR ELSE) But I’m afraid I can’t reveal the nature of her powers until the actual story. :)

God I fucking hate Wheatley the core so fucking much holy shit. Holy shit, every frame he’s in, every scene, every gif, every jpeg, he’s got this painfully vacant, stupid as shit, fuckass look on his stupid spherical face. Absolutely no part of his ugly as sin piece of shit character design is endearing. His stupid fucking management rail? Who the hell makes a robot with a management rail. His dumb flaily fucking plastic handles? His shitty, metal round head? The three thousand percent unnecessary dumbass shitass fucking INTELLIGENCE DAMPENING that no robot has EVER FUCKING HAD IN tHE HISTORY OF GOD’S GREEN FUCKING EARTH? God, I hate him. I hate him so much. So FUCKING much. Every time I see a stuffed toy Wheatley or a Wheatley gif or shitty goddamn fanart, it ignites my primal rage response and I’m overcome by the need to punt this shitty little sphere into the fucking sun. “Bhurr blur, I’m Wheatley the fuckshit test fucker, I am speaking in an accent beyond her range of hearing”. Fuck you. Fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you. You look like if a fucking blue Mike Wazowski summoned a patronus. Your dumb fucking blue eye makes your whole shitty head look like a moldy blueberry. I hate your dumb fucking voice and your stupid, empty googly eye and your over-the-top clueless ass moron asshole personality. Any scene he’s sad it invokes all the wrath and fury of a spoiled child having a meltdown over a chocolate bar in a w*lmart checkout line. And I know its irrational. That’s the worst part. I know he’s just a shitty fucking character in a stupid fucking video game, I know it doesn’t matter, I know I shouldn’t care. But that’s part of the problem. I hate him. I hate him on a level of my mind reserved for the worst of the world’s array of sinners, and I can’t even begin to justify it. Shitstick the orb dick is, for all intents and purposes, the animated corpse of all of humanity’s saccharine pretenses- every condescending, passive-aggressive statement of meaningless upper middle class suburban drama distilled into a single, hateable form. The fucking. Fuck. I have no words. There is no cuss or epithet in any language that can encapsulate the height of the emotions I am experiencing. God, I hate him so much. I hate him so, so fucking much. I want to light his ugly little dumpster body on fire. I want to graphically beat him to death with his own stupid fucking handles. I want to punch him to death. You know that weird feeling you get, when you see a picture of something so cute you find yourself overcome with the bizarre, inexplicable urge to squeeze it? It’s EXACTLY like that, except instead of cuteness it’s disgust. I must Unmake this fictional robot

Y'all wanna see how hard I can gush over Centaurworld?
First of all... wow. Ever since I had made that post about expressing interest in starting Centaurworld when the weekend rolled around, I literally could not wait until Friday night to eventually sit down and watch as much as I could until I knew I had to get to bed. I was growing more and more intrigued as to what the show held, and knew full well that, worse case scenario, that I would think Centaurworld would be 'just alright'.
Centaurworld is phenomenal, and I'm not even done with it.
As I'm writing this, I'm halfway through the series, being on the fifth of the ten episodes of the first season. With that being said, I ask anybody who intends on interacting with this post to please not spoil anything, as it's super rare that I not only find a modern animated series that I like, but am as invested in it as I am.
Centaurworld tells the tale of a warhorse named Horse that is separated from her rider after a near-fatal fall. Somehow, Horse is transported to a strange, colorful world that is inhabited by centaurs with an affinity for singing. Horse immediately wants to find a way back to her own world to reunite with her rider, but finds that it's necessary to enlist the help of Wammawink and her herd if she wants to get anywhere.
I usually don't tend to listen to a lot of music with vocals (Or partake in musicals in general), but trust me when I say that the soundtrack for Centaurworld is, no joke, exclusively made up of absolute bangers. I think my favorite musical number so far is the one at the start of the second episode, Fragile Things, which I HIGHLY recommend you give a listen.
You might also notice that in the video I linked above that Centaurworld also possesses some nice animation; I find that the fluidity of Horse's animation is absolutely stellar. Before I watched Centaurworld, I wasn't expecting the animation to look as nice as it does, and in all honesty, I think that was because of how the show's general artstyle looks.
Which, need I remind you, goes from the first image below to the image underneath it in the span of five-ish minutes.
Tumblr media
Like, how are these even from the same show? It's amazing.
Some people aren't very fond of the artstyle of Centaurworld, and while I can understand why, I personally find it endearing and befits its whimsical world. Between the immensely creative designs of the centaurs and the really cool scenery design, I quite like how the show itself looks.
Plus, there's a great deal of facial expressions throughout each episode's runtime that are nothing short of hilarious. Just look at these.
Tumblr media
That last one comes completely out of left field and it actually got me to laugh embarrassingly loud when I first saw it.
Centaurworld's main cast (And characters in general) is just so good, too. It's really hard to pick a favorite from the six main characters, because there's something I like about just about all of them!
Wammawink (The pink alpaca taur) is high up on my favorite list because of how caring she is as well as how expressive she can be, and Ched (The finch taur who's in the second image under the cut) has a really good voice actor and boasts an outright hilarious 'tough guy' personality. Dude's signature magic power is that he can look handsome for eight seconds. Now that's comedy.
Though my interest in watching Centaurworld to begin with would not have blossomed if it weren't for one man... or, in this instance, taur...
Tumblr media
Zulius.
One single piece of fanart of him was all it took for me to realize that not only had I fallen for him, but that Centaurworld also warranted a watch. Legitimately every second he's on-screen, I can't help but smile like a dork. I cannot get enough of his overly extravagant and egotistic personality.
Zulius was indeed the character I was referring to in the original post I made about Centaurworld a few days ago, and I can say with full confidence that he'll absolutely be on the F/O list in a good few days— really all I have to do is finish the ten episodes to narrow down the perfect image to use for his icon and think up a tag for him.
Once I finish Centaurworld, I plan on designing a S/I for its universe— how could I not? I feel like the artstyle would be very easy for me to replicate, and before even watching the first episode I had a pretty solid idea on what my Centaurworld S/I would look like; I'm thinking it should be a taur with a fauna-based bottom half, kind of like what Glendale has. I was going to settle on a sheep bottom half, but I've got plenty of sheep-based S/Is already.
Overall, what more can I say but what has already been said by a majority of those on tumblr who have given the series a chance: go watch Centaurworld. You will not regret it.

Hi Red! I really admire your work and everything you do. Do you have any tips for someone who doesn't know how to art but really wants to learn?
Thanks! Boy, that's a tricky one. I've never been a very good art student, so I can't really speak for what teaching methods work.
For me, what worked best was sheer volume. My older videos are absolute Hot Messes for a reason - I was very inexperienced with digital art when I started out. But with dozens of illustrations in every video I ended up getting a ton of practice; I wasn't setting out to improve, but it happened naturally as I got a better feel for what worked and what didn't. No matter how iffy you are starting out, if you do enough art, you will become more polished. You'll look for shortcuts and simplifications, ways to make certain effects work, and in the process you'll build a style that works for you. This is why having a sketchbook is so useful - doodling a few things a day will make everything a lot smoother over time.
On a more technical level, I always recommend life drawing first and foremost. I'm also very bad at it, but it's ultimately the best way to improve. There's no better way to get a feel for musculature and anatomy, light and shadow, material textures - everything real and observable and frequently stylized. It's very tempting to try and learn by copying other people's styles, and I've seen a lot of very impressive artwork come from that practice, but you can almost always identify the source of the style. I've seen people who very clearly grew up drawing disney princesses, sailor scouts, and even one webcomic where the creator had very obviously learned to draw on Elfquest fanart. It's not bad, but it's limiting; it teaches you the shortcuts developed for that style and doesn't encourage you to find your own way to stylize or capture certain effects.
So: lots of drawing, lots of life-drawing. I think it's also important to internalize that no drawing has to be perfect. I had this huge problem when I was younger where I wouldn't want to draw anything if I didn't know I could do it right. Sketchbooks are for doodles, practice and half-finished concepts, not final "perfected" works. Don't hold yourself to an impossible standard or you'll be too stressed and frustrated to improve.
I also think it's ultimately most important to find a subject you actually enjoy drawing. I stalled out on art for years in middle school until I started developing ideas for Aurora and suddenly had a reason to draw. If you want to draw something, you'll want to get better at drawing it so you can make it look right. I know some people who love drawing environments, some who love drawing incredibly intricate and detailed objects from life, some who love designing characters, and several who love drawing fanart above all else. Like any art, it's important to find the aspects you're personally passionate about and encourage those. Especially if you're trying to get into the practice of art but don't feel confident yet, it's important to identify the things that energize you to draw so you can build up momentum without getting discouraged.
I also strongly recommend consuming a lot of art - comics, cartoons, illustrations, animation, etc. As you develop an artist's eye you'll find you engage with this media in a new way - not just appreciating it at face value, but seeing its style and how its creator handled certain forms of stylization and how they managed to capture and create certain visual effects. (I'm always intrigued by how various styles handle noses. Noses are terrible.) You don't need to reinvent the wheel, and seeing how other artists have done things you might be struggling with can give you a leg up in figuring out your own way to handle it. For instance, the current method I use to do forested backgrounds is partially derived from some pixel art foliage effects I thought were really efficient.
SO - draw a lot, draw from life, draw things you love drawing, don't sweat it too much, consume media, hydrate

Any Kny character you've grown to love/appreciate more??
Thanks for waiting, Anon, I have been trying to really, really hard to narrow this down, but the answer remains: the vast majority of the cast. The only character I loved right away was Tanjiro and that love kept me watching, as with almost every new character I was like, "ugh, I hate this guy. Here I was, having fun being emotionally invested in a high quality anime, and this might ruin it for me." But then the instant I see a different side of their character, I'm like, "...Oh." To go into some examples...
Zenitsu: I could not stand him right away, I hate womanizers, and his conniptions would go on so long that they held up the story. But Gotouge/Ufotable strung me along perfectly, the first glimpse of Thunder Breath made me immediately pay attention and think, "oh, that was cool. I want to see more of that." Seeing him protect the box pretty firmly put him in the "I need to protect this child" box in my heart. And then the spider demon happens, and I'm sending desperate reaction messages to a friend like "NOOOOOO!!!! BABBBBBBBBBYYYYYYYY!!!!" And then he annoyed me all over again at the start of Functional Recovery, ahaha. It's hard to remember how annoyed I was because I'm such a Zen Stan now, and he was a very firm favorite of mine by the time I finished binging the anime up to the last couple episodes, which I waited for as they came out. Inosuke: He was one of the reasons I was curious about the series, I saw some promotional art and was super curious about Nezuko's muzzle (I was one of the people who thought it was some ancient scroll or something, haha) and the kid with the boar mask. The art I saw showed his face, and I assumed he'd be some kid with a cracking voice performed by a female seiyuu. As much as I love Matsuoka's performance now, initially, since I knew what his face looked like, I found it grossly off-putting the moment I heard it. Then every chaotic thing Inosuke did dug a deeper hole; I very quickly decided I hated him, especially when he started beating up on the kid I was starting to like. As his chaos subsided he just became a character I tolerated, and then this happened:
Tumblr media
Images you can hear, am I right? This immediately flipped the "BABY" switch in my heart. It was also a lot of fun to understand the Inosuke memes I was seeing everywhere. So by the end of the anime, I loved, loved, loved, loved the Tanjiro/Zenitsu/Inosuke interactions and desperately wanted more (still didn't like how Zenitsu bothered Nezuko, though). I was so impatient for more, but the manga art looked disappointingly off-putting. I figured the anime was successful enough that there'd eventually be more of it, and I wanted to be patient, but then I poked around, read some spoilers, got back into Tumblr to look at fanart and memes, saw a spoiler image of Tanjiro affected by Muzan's poison and the binge-read began. (That's kind of a lie, but I'll get to that.) Let's back up a few episodes. There I was, having a great time, the guy who I forgot about from Episode 1 was back and haha, I guess everyone hates him, and the chick who I figured was going to be a medic who saves Zenitsu in the nick of time turned out to be savage, awesome. I was sending reactions to my friends who were ahead of me, and then we left off seeing the Pillars staring down Best Boy. And I...
Well. Uh. Here, I've dug up an old convo for you, my comments are in blue.
Tumblr media
Immediately followed by a passionate vocal rant, which I have transcribed here:
“I feel like what happened was that the mangaka was sitting around with his assistants and was like, ‘welp, gotta make this whole cast of characters, they gotta be so-o-o-o many more levels of extreme than all the other characters I’ve had so far, which isn’t hard, because all of the background characters are cannon fodder and I’ve just gotta leave them all with black hair and no personality traits. So! Gotta go to the opposite of the spectrum with the BIG! POWERFUL! People so no-o-o-body can be normal.’ And so he and his assistants sat down, and they all wrote down just random words or traits, and them put ‘em all in a hat. And then for each character, they pulled out a few of them and said, ‘OK. We’re gonna put these things together, now we have a character.’ And he was probably also like, ‘Iiiiiiiiiiiii’ll flesh them out later. For now, they just need t’… be there, and make an impact. How do we make an impact? By making sure it’s super, super clear what their character traits are. Here, we’ll have this guy repeat the word //HADE//…. ////HA DEEE//// over and over and over… to show that he’s a /showy/ person. Because he /cares/ about that. And he //should// care because that is his character and that’s why he’s powerful.’ OH MY GOSH, it’s so dumb.”
......orz I feel like Genya looking back at how he acted at the end of the Final Selection. I'm sorry, Gotouge, I had not even encountered your love for these characters yet in your little alligator form. Nor had I encountered the yet unseen-sides of these traumatized dragons and tigers. ...*coughs* Um. So. I was pretty harsh.
So this was my mindset, I went into the manga not caring about most of these characters and just wanting more Kamaboko squad interactions and wanting to hurry up and catch up to the battle with Muzan. And it's worth stating that I didn't mean to read it at first. I encountered a few spoilers, and just wanted to look for the context surrounding those parts, and then hunt for the (non-existent) build-up to those parts, and so... uh.........
I read a lot of the manga out of order, and yeah, that did affect how much I cared about what was going on. I didn't actually properly process a lot of it until later re-reads. But to try to state some things simply about each Pillar:
Giyuu: He was just 'ok' to me for a long time, I could see the appeal for why people I knew were fangirling over him but he didn't do it for me. His soft spot for Tanjiro was indeed endearing, though, and I firmly liked him by the time chapter 200 came out and I was properly heartbroken on his behalf.
Shinobu: She was intriguing, and then I liked her as soon as I saw her savage side, she was one of the characters I went hunting for spoilers for.
Rengoku: That stare really put me off at first, but I fell for him over the process of Tanjiro falling for him. When I first finished the train arc I sat back and said, "wow! That's going to make for a good movie!" and then in psyching myself out for the movie several months in advance, I fell hook, line, and sinker and was totally excited for him each time I saw the trailers. And then the movie was *stunning* and I love him even more. Uzui: He was the Pillar I hated most upon first meeting them. I blame the repeated use of his catchphrase. But then when he let his hair down to sell the kiddos the change in design helped warm me up more to him, like, "oh, there was a human in there." It took a long time for him to become more interesting to me, and an uncharacteristically subtle journey to becoming a character I liked. I am currently getting more and more psyched out for him and eager to see how much more I'm going to like him with the shiny Ufotable treatment. Mitsuri: At first I didn't remember her name, I had code-named her as "Boobs." But I kinda had a feeling she was going to grow on me quickly, and I was right, she's one of my easy favorites now. Muichiro: Who? Oh yeah, that kid who always kinda fell to the wayside in my attention. I'd see a lot of Muichiro-themed blogs and hear a lot of little girls looking at merch and showing a clear favoritism of him, and I'd like always react like Muichiro and just be like, "...", and then when I read his major battles I was more emotionally invested in things going on concurrently with other characters, and I was still like, "...", and then two days ago I revisited a Muichiro scene and was suddenly like, "......OH!!! MUICHIRO!!!!!" Himejima: I never really hated Himejima, even if I found his first impression kind of wimpy (haha... oh, I was so wrong). I had a pretty easy acceptance of him too, so I would generally count him among characters I like, but if you were to ask me why, I'd draw a blank. It's kind of a weirdly mature, subdued appreciation for him rather than passionate fangirling. But weirdly when I was daydreaming the other day I found myself thinking, "if I had to marry someone in the KnY cast, it would be Himejima." So like, not a fiery romance, but I see him as my dependable, sturdy rock to grow old with??? What is up with you, sub-conscious?? Iguro: My interest in him rises and falls. Being a Mitsuri fan helped warm me up to his character in the first place, which was the emotional tie I needed since his backstory didn't grip me much (I found it a frustrating distraction while I was desperately reading weekly updates). Reading more subtle details about his character in the fanbooks has brought me around and made me more curious about him, like I'd really like to be a fly on the wall for the conversation he had with Uzui one day about their pasts.
Sanemi: Hahaha, wow. He was so unlikable in the beginning, wasn't he? His character design (yeah, the eyes) was really off-putting too. But then I got to know him and there was no going back, I got totally played. He's a character I'm pretty fond of now and one of the characters I've enjoyed delving into most in fanfic. To keep this answer from getting too long, for the vaaaaaast majority of the cast, I was initially like, "meh" or "OK" or "ew" but now am like, "EEEEEEEEE, I LOVE THIS TOTALLY RANDOM UNIMPORTANT SIDE CHARACTERRRRRRR" so you know... times change. And the more time I spend obsessed with Kimetsu no Yaiba, the more I like them all, so even the characters I'm lukewarm on will probably have their eventual days when they take over my heart and smash it.

Hey i just want to know that if you still make headcanon holy quintet in twst series , if you not is okay ,but if you still make , i have several question ,
What if madoka transform to madokami i want to know boys reaction especially diasmonia boys ?
I want to know what if sayaka got corrupt and the boys reaction(especially adeuce) see witch form sayaka for first time and their think sayaka got overblot but they wrong it worst than that!
I want to know that what boys reaction if they see the witchs and Walpurgisnacht for the first time are they gonna fight or not?
What all boys(especially dorm leaders)reaction homura tell the truth of soul gem and she tell how she looping time to time for 12 years and 100 looping
And btw i am boy its weird boy love twisted wonderland(not really but i love the character design and story(i just hate riddle mom treat him to obey all rules, he need freedom:( ))
Sorry for making many question
Hello! I’m happy that you enjoyed the TWST x PMMM series! Most of my writing projects have taken a back seat due to work and since it’s currently the Ramadan season, I just don’t have a lot of energy to write anymore more than for work. I mean, it took me half a day to answer this ask.
I definitely want to get back to writing for this crossover series and maybe even copied what I’ve written so far into my AO3 for easy reading and navigating but we’ll see. For now, I’m indulging whatever plot bunnies that come my way so I won’t stop writing altogether.
So lay them on me, dude! Expanding the series is always fun. (Also, bear with me. This is gonna be a long post).
@lionheartanotheraccount and I had discussed these actually on Discord! Some were pinned, some were not (I’m an idiot. I should have pinned all of our crossover texts!), so lemme explain what I still remember. Feel free to pinch in if I forgot something incorrectly or left something out, Lion!
1. What if Madoka transforms to MadoKAMI, I want to know boys’ reaction, especially Diasmonia’s boys
After the anime ended, Lion and I talked about how not that she’s a Goddess, she has the ability to visit Twisted Wonderland on her own and she approached Malleus and the rest of the Diasomnia gang in her human disguise so as not to freak them out. Well, Lilia and Malleus could feel the divinity within Madoka and you can expect the immense shock that not only could Madoka travel across worlds, but she’s also no longer human too. It’s a teary reunion and Malleus’ and Lilia’s hearts break when MadoKAMI explain everything. They comforted her to their best ability but ultimately, it’s been done. There’s nothing else they could do for her. It’s bittersweet for Lilia. Why, a human child ascended into a Goddess so she could save the fates of her friends and every Magical Girls in the past, present and future - she grew up out of necessity and love. Both Lilia and Malleus is proud to be her friend.
2.  I want to know what if Sayaka got corrupt and the boys’ reaction(especially Adeuce) see Witch form Sayaka for the first time and they think Sayaka got Overblot but they wrong it worst than that!
The existence of a Witch’s Labyrinth is enough to make the boys instantly wary and a bit frighten (not that any of them would admit it). Bad times for everyone. The boys so confused, wanting to help Sayaka. The girls are horrified at the truth of Witches and Magical Girls and Homura is rushing in to kill Sayaka. Chaos everywhere with Octavie shrieking and trying to kill them all, Symposium Magarum blaring in the background and the Witch’s familiars flying everywhere to make sure their Witch could enjoy the music.
No one could fight Octavia so they had to retreat. Homura causing enough distraction for them to escape. By the time they went out of the Labyrinth, shouting and screams begin.
Adeuce would the most horrified, Madoka of course, heartbroken. Mami is losing it (to which Homura’s getting trigger happy and refused to look away from her. She’s ready to put Mami out of her misery the moment Mami so much as flinch) and Sayaka is both furious and still in shock. At this point, Homura has no choice but to reveal the fact she knows the truth about Magical Girls in order to explain that no, they don’t Overblot. They... mature into Witches when their Soul Gems turn pitch black. Here’s a little gem(lol) from explorerofsy on Discord:  vil internally: mami is a gem
vil later when he finds out about soul gems:
when i said that mami is a gem, i did not expect that to be literal
It’s sad but it made me laugh sick.
3. I want to know that what boys’ reaction if they see the Witches and Walpurgisnacht for the first time. Are they gonna fight or not?
The moment Homura explains that turning to Witches is irreversible and is the ultimate fate of all Magical Girls, some would deny it. Their magic is different from the girls, maybe they have a way to stop the transformation here in Twisted Wonderland. The academically-inclined students (Malleus, Riddle, Jamil, Vil and even Idia) would delve into hours of research, only to find nothing (I mean, Kyubey is akin to an Eldritch being, something beyond their comprehension so how on Twisted Wonderland would they push their magic against his strange abilities?). The other students are keeping a very close eye on the girls’ Soul Gems. I mentioned in a long-ago post that even Lilia would demand Madoka present her Soul Gem to him for inspection once every week since Madoka is still distraught over what happened to Sayaka.
Will the boys fight the Witches? Well, in terms of Octavia, the Heartslabyul boys will struggle to kill her, even after Homura explains that the Witch is no longer Sayaka and it’s better to put her out of her despair and give her Grief Seed to Madoka (though Madoka would let Adeuce keep Octavia’s Grief Seed; it’s the only thing the boys have left of Sayaka after all. Madoka at least have years worth of memories of them together).
In terms of Walpurgisnacht, Homura would debrief the girls and boys the strongest Witch to ever exist (Keeping Kriemhild Gretchen to herself. For now. She really, really doesn’t want to open that horrible can of worms) and showed them just how powerful and destructive she can be using her magic. Malleus would be intrigued in fighting her though.
4. What would the boys’ (especially dorm leaders) reaction be when Homura tell the truth of Soul Gems and she tells how she looping time to time for 12 years and 100 looping
Characters like Leona, Lilia and Malleus would be shocked stupid. Time magic is already an insanely OP power and Homura, a human child, been abusing and looping time just to find a way to kill Walpurgisnacht? Leona will straight up spit out that Homura’s insane and Lilia will silently agree with him, wondering if Homura has gone mad. Malleus couldn’t help but applaud Homura’s will and her careful planning in making sure her Soul Gem remains pure. Kalim will cry for her; he couldn’t imagine what sort of pain Homura purposely gone through just to save her friends (cue Homura’s awkwardly patting him on the back, telling him not to cry because she made her choices)
5. And btw i am boy its weird boy love twisted wonderland(not really but i love the character design and story(i just hate riddle mom treat him to obey all rules, he need freedom:( ))
It’s cool! Twisted Wonderland and its fandom are some of the very few fandoms I really enjoy. But then again, I tend to keep to myself and some close friends so I don’t really see the dramas. And you’re right, the story and characters’ design are what hooked me in. I was introduced to Twisted Wonderland when I saw a fanart of a little Azul holding hands with Floyd and Jade, looking disgruntled at being treated like a kid while the Tweels just smirk. That’s why Azul and the Tweels will always be my favourite in the fandom!
Yeah... when you think about it, most of the characters have unhealthy relationships with their family. Riddle with his Mum, Leona with his status and brother, Azul with his childhood bullying, and while we don’t know what exactly happen with King and Queen Draconia, Malleus probably knew them for only a short time (hell, they could even pass away before he was hatched).

Reclist: Eldritch/Inhuman Castiel
My interest in Supernatural, such as it is, begins and ends with Castiel, a gay angel who is portrayed by known human being Misha Collins, but is shown by visual storytelling (shattering glass, fallen trees, dramatic lightning flashes) and in dialogue ("I am a multidimensional wavelength of celestial intent", "my true body is the size of the Chrysler Building") to be an incorporeal nightmare monster who just so happens to have possessed a suburban dad. I am a monsterfucker who absolutely wanted to read about a terrifying eldritch gay angel, but I discovered to my great disappointment that most SPN fanwork portrays him as a quirky human man lightly dusted with halo spice.
However, I have managed to find some fanwork that gave me the many-eyed, mind-breaking, dorky gay possession spirit that I crave, and I thought I would share my finds with all my fellow alienfuckers. Also, for those alienfuckers who are not in this fandom (excellent life choice, by the way) I have marked with an asterisk (*) those fanworks that I think work well without any knowledge of SPN.
Fanart
Contra's trueform!Cas art
Contra's take on Cas's trueform is inspired and incredibly cute. I love how he draws Cas as his usual nearly expressionless human vessel, but then has a very expressive trueform expanding like a giant cloud of wings and eyes around him.
Carolina's trueform!Cas art
Carolina's take on Cas's trueform is very abstract and intriguing. In the example I linked, the blue and tan and white of Jimmy Novak's iconic outfit spill out in a chaos of triangles and wings and animal heads from Jimmy's body as Cas possesses him, as well as the red burn of Cas's handprint on Dean.
Friendly Pigeon's Giant Castiel series*
Friendly Pigeon heard Castiel say that his true form was the size of the Chrysler Building and decided to take that to its logical fanart conclusion. This art beautifully communicates the awe-inspiring scale of a cosmic being like Cas.
angel-derangement's trueform!Cas art*
This fanartist draws Cas so different every time, and so WEIRD that I am honestly inspired. These trueforms are inspired by everything from the lighting aisle at a hardware store to Lisa Frank. Feast your eyes.
Long Fanfic (>50k)
Cruel Angels* by orphan (107k)
The ultimate in eldritch!Cas. This author delivered to me everything I wanted: Cas walking the earth in a giant, freaky, many-headed form that sends everybody but Dean screaming for the hills. The sheer power, scale, and alienness of Castiel in this fic is unparalleled, and yet he always tries so hard to do the right thing, in his endearing way.
Cinderwings* by bendingsignpost (182k)
The Cas in this Cinderella-ish AU is technically not as alien as in most of the fics on this list, in that he is a corporeal humanoid being who just happens to have ginormous wings, but the fic does a great job of portraying Cas and angels in general as very culturally distinct from humans - a lot of the drama of this fic comes from Cas operating from totally different first principles than humans do.
So Says the Sword* by komodobits (85k)
An AU(-ish? it's complicated) where Dean says yes to being Michael's vessel, and Castiel is assigned to guard him. Castiel and Dean are basically locked in a holodeck together, under terrible circumstances, and bond with each other while they wait for the apocalypse. The Castiel POV is beautiful, his true form scene is awe-inspiring, and the fic is so poetically written in general.
Medium Fanfic (10 - 50k)
Broadway Musical* by Griftings
An exceedingly silly AU that includes references to Jewish angel lore, angels having three animal heads as per the Book of Revelation, and Cas having previously possessed a dinosaur as a vessel. I love that Cas has an internal conversation going with Jimmy throughout the fic, a stream of petty arguments and useful tips for playing human, which emphasizes how Cas is not his vessel.
closer (isn't close enough) by fleeceframe
A finale fix-it in which Cas is now an archangel. While Cas is roughly humanoid in this fic, you still get the immensity and power of his true nature. In this fic, he heals trauma damage directly from Dean and Sam's brains, and designs a heaven for bees, which is just... such wholesome weird angel content.
Autrement, Danger - or, The Account of an Exceedingly Long Day by awed_frog (31k)
The description of Cas's true form in this story was so poetic and beautiful I actually cried. This fic captures the concept of the sublime: the feeling you get in prayer or in contemplation of nature that you are very small and the universe is vast and frightening and breathtaking.

Fata morgana. by orange_crushed (7k)
Castiel in hell, searching for Dean, from demon!Bela's point of view. I love how Bela's demon senses can see Cas's Grace fading and warping in hell. Cas is also just so hopelessly sweet amidst the bleakness of this story.
diamond star halo by jad (5k)
Castiel possessing Dean, from Sam POV. I love fic where Cas possesses other vessels than Jimmy, because it emphasizes that Cas is not his vessel - he is an incorporeal entity who needs help from humans to interact in the human world. Castiel!Dean in this story is just so weird and I love it.
Everyone is Trying to Get to the Bar by Balder12 (8k)
A very weird eldritch Cas made of blade-feathers and spinning wheels and tentacles, AND it's hurt/comfort! I'm such a sucker for fic where a monstrous/alien character is hurt and receives comfort, because monsters deserve love and care, too.

Rise of the Guardians: Is it as good as we remember?
(Oof! I’ve been working on this one for a long while! Buckle up buttercup, this is gonna be a long one!)
(Before I get into this, I want everyone to know that I’m not claiming anything to be fact. This is just my personal opinion).
Back in November of 2012, we were greeted with Rise of the Guardians. This movie, based on the books entitled The Guardians of Childhood, written by William Joyce, gave us a new and unique take on our favorite childhood characters. This included Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Jack Frost, and more.
Tumblr media
While it didn’t do so well at the box office, it seemed to explode in popularity. It spawned a fandom fairly quickly, even spawning a couple fandoms that branched off of it. For a long while there it seemed that, wherever you looked, you saw cosplays, fanart, tribute videos, fanfiction, etc. Loads of people seemed to absolutely love this movie, and I, as a twelve-year-old at the time and thus a part of the target audience, was no exception.
Even now eight years later, I still claim to love this movie. Even though I haven’t seen it in a long while, it left a huge impact on me as a writer and artist, which is why I am sad to see the fanbase slowly dwindling away. So I went back and watched it again, and as I sat there ready to press the ‘play’ button, I began to wonder.
Will this movie be as good as I remember it?
And the answer? Yes and no.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I still really like this movie, and I still stand by it being one of my favorites. But just like everything else in life, nothing is perfect. And while still amazing, this movie does indeed have some flaws.
And as I like to save the best for last, I’ll start off by diving into some of the movies flaws.
Flaw #1 - Pacing
Tumblr media
The pacing in this movie can be a little awkward from time to time. Nothing super jarring, but enough to make me go, “I’m sorry, what?”.
Some scenes seemed to just jump from one to the other without much warning. Either that, or the transition from one scene to the next seemed a little off. One example of this is when North, Bunny, Sandman, and Jack Frost set off to the Tooth Palace. There was nothing inherently wrong with these scenes, but the transition between the two seemed a little awkward. One minute we were having a nice, calm moment between North and Jack, and then all of a sudden we get a quick, action-like sequence with the sleigh.
Another moment that felt awkwardly paced was the introduction of the movies villain, Pitch Black. It seemed like there should’ve been more buildup to him. We got a bit, but moments of buildup seemed quite few and far between. When he was introduced it felt almost a little random, him just appearing for a few moments and disappearing just as quick didn’t seem to work or do him justice.
There are other scenes, but I won’t go over those now, as I guess I’m probably already bugging some hardcore RotG fans.
Flaw #2 - Unexplored Questions and Backstories
Alright, before I get people shouting me down about how, “If I want backstory and questions answered I should read the books”, hear me out.
When you make a story, whether it be in the form of a movie or book, you’re going to want it to make sense. You’re going to want everything to tie together. It’s true that the original books do this, but it’s not seen in the movie. So for those who watch the movie, they may walk out confused about some aspects of it. The two parts I’m going to focus on here are Pitch Black’s backstory, and how Sandman came back to life.
Tumblr media
Every story needs a good villain, and Pitch Black is certainly a well-defined villain. But here’s the problem. We get no backstory or explanation as to how he came to be. We do get a quick flashback to Pitch during the ‘Dark Ages’, which gives us his motivation as to why he’s doing what he’s doing. But that’s it. We get no other real backstory to how he came to be. Actually, we don’t get that for any of the other Guardians besides Jack Frost. But again, the other Guardians lack of backstory could be forgiven, as none of them are the main characters. But it’s important to tell a villains backstory because it gives the audience something to connect with.
Onto the next question. How exactly did Sandman come back to life?
Tumblr media
This is a question that’s actually been on my mind for a while now. How exactly did Sandy come back? In the movie we clearly see him die, so how did he come back from the dead? The only lead I got is that maybe the kids somehow brought him back. During the final confrontation with Pitch, Jamie touches some of the black nightmare sand and it turns gold. It’s later on after that that he looks to the other kids and says, “I know what we have to do,” and they run offscreen for a little while, only for Sandy to show up soon after. Did Sandy come back through the kids believing in him again? Did they preform some sort of ritual to call him back from the dead? Who knows. It’s a dumb nitpick, I know, but I still wonder.
Well, now that I got that out of the way, and the RotG fandom is probably coming after my head, I’ll go over the strengths of this movie. And trust me, these really help the movie stand out.
Strength #1 - The Characters
Tumblr media
All the characters in this movie are phenomenal! But to be honest, Jack Frost was the reason I originally wanted to watch this film when it first came out. Growing up I never really heard any stories about Jack Frost, and the only Jack Frost I ever saw in the media was of a withered old man. So seeing him portrayed as a teenager seemed pretty interesting. And the character was handled and written very well. His backstory was intriguing, he had a fun and enjoyable personality, but that’s not all.
One thing that was really great about Jack Frost’s character was his struggle throughout the story, and it’s actually a pretty relatable struggle as well. In the story, Jack Frost starts out not knowing who he really is or why he’s even alive. Not only that, but it seems that no mortals can see him, effectively making him invisible to the entire world. The story follows him as he looks for answers to his identity.
This can be a very relatable situation, especially for preteens and early teenagers who are still trying to figure themselves out. And most all of us get to this point. We reach a time in our lives, often in our youth, where we start to wonder exactly who/what kind of person we are. Along with the desire to discover ourselves, there is also the fear/feeling of being invisible and isolated, not understanding where we exactly fit in. Again, everyone reaches a place like that as well, where we feel invisible to the world. Just a passerby. Like we have something amazing to share, if only we could get someone to see it.
The other characters don’t come off as deep or complex as Jack, but that doesn’t make them any less enjoyable. Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Sandman were all very creatively designed and portrayed. A lot of the fun from this movie actually came from all these strong, drastically different personalities clashing with and bouncing off of one another. It made for some fun dialogue and hilarious moments which had me laughing off and on throughout the beginning of the film.
Strength #2 - The Villain
Tumblr media
Pitch Black is, without a doubt, one of my favorite DreamWorks villains. I loved everything about this character. From the voice, the design, the aesthetic, it’s all wonderful! But the one thing that set this villain up above many others was that he straight up killed an important character onscreen.
Reminder, I was twelve when this movie came out, and up until then, I wasn’t often exposed to death scenes like this in animated films. I grew up majorly on Disney animated movies and shows, and when a character died, it was usually offscreen. And on the occasion it was onscreen? The villain only indirectly killed a character. For example, in the Lion King, Scar pushed Mufasa into a gorge where a stampede was taking place. Scar killed him indirectly, as he’s the one who put him there, but the stampede is what really did the work.
But in this case it was much different. It’s not like Pitch took Sandy off to the side and killed him there. No, we legit saw this whole scene happen and play out on screen. When I first saw it, it blew my mind! This was actually kind of new for me! We saw Pitch take that shot at Sandy, and we actually saw Sandy’s final moments as he died. When you have a villain physically kill off a beloved character on screen, it sends a message. It sends the message that this villain isn’t all talk. That this villain really does have great power of their own, and that they are serious about getting what they want. That they aren’t going to let anyone get in their way. They mean business. And that was perfectly executed in this scene. (No pun intended).
Strength #3 - The Creativity and Art
Tumblr media
I think it goes without saying that this movie is unbelievably creative! Everything from the locations, animation, and the characters themselves in both personality and design are just bursting with creative energy! The animation is incredibly detailed, and for DreamWorks as an animation studio, I think this has to be some of their best work. The colors, textures, details, and everything in between are just so beautifully done. In terms of creativity, two of the locations I want to talk about are the Tooth Palace and Pitch Black’s lair.
When it comes to the Tooth Palace, the artists and creators were given a lot of creative freedom. In media there is no set idea of a place where the Tooth Fairy lives or operates. We all know Santa lives in a workshop, and it makes sense to think that the Easter Bunny lives in a Warren, but no one really knows what to expect when it comes to the Tooth Fairy. When we saw the Tooth Palace, we were treated to some highly detailed and stunning imagery, all with a lovely color scheme of soft pinks, purples, and blues with accents of gold. Not to mention the design of the structural design was a spectacle itself to behold.
Tumblr media
And then we have Pitch Black’s lair. As a lowkey goth at twelve years old in the early 2010s, the aesthetic here made it one of my favorite parts of the movie. This set here is similar to the Tooth Palace in that, the creators had a greater level of creative freedom, as we never really think about where exactly the Boogeyman lives. I mean, we know he kinda lives under beds, but that doesn’t sound as cool as living in a spooky, gothic underground secret lair. (But in all honesty, I do really enjoy the detail of the entrance of his lair being under an old, broken down bedframe. It’s a very good nod to the old stories).
It’s like a maze. A labyrinth full of shadows, and looks like the interior of an old, gothic castle that’s somewhat tilting into an abyss. It’s color scheme is predominantly full of grays and blacks, and the surprisingly elegant-looking cages hanging from an invisible ceiling really helps to establish a more gothic look. And since the lair is very dark and shadowed, it fits and aids Pitch black perfectly, in that he can morph in and out of shadows as he pleases. This gives him plenty of places to hide as he’s making an effort to mess with and get into Jack’s head.
Tumblr media
The last piece of creativity I want to touch on is how the characters are presented. And holy crap after this movie this is the only way I can view Santa, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, etc.!
They take these beloved characters that we are already familiar with, and, while still somewhat showing them as we know them, present them in an entirely different way.
Tumblr media
We all see Santa Claus as this huge, lovable man with a big belly who’s always jolly. And while that is what we get from this Santa, or North, as they call him, it’s very much flipped on its head. While still jolly, North is very eccentric, high-energy, and is strong-armed, duel broadsword wielding Russian warrior with tattoos. Seriously, who thinks of a Russian warrior when they think of Santa?! Well, now I do! Also the fact that he’s not always super happy like other incarnations of the character. We get to see that he’s very capable of getting both upset and frustrated. It’s a pretty interesting way to humanize such a beloved character.
Tumblr media
We then have the Easter Bunny, who is played by Hugh Jackman. Say that out loud. The Easter Bunny is being played by Hugh Jackman. Growing up, me and many other kids saw the Easter Bunny as a small, cute little critter who hopped around the world leaving baskets and painting eggs. Not a tall, boomerang wielding fighter from the Australian outback. Not only that, but giving him a small rivalry with North was interesting, and snot something I ever really thought about. As well as the idea of a the Easter Bunny having somewhat of a temper.
Tumblr media
In terms of character design, I feel like both the Tooth Fairy and Sandman had the most creative freedom. We don’t see these two characters often portrayed in media, so they were able to receive some really cool and unique-looking designs. Especially the Tooth Fairy. Did you ever think of the Tooth Fairy looking a like an elegant cross between a beautiful woman and a hummingbird? No, of course you didn’t. But Rise of the Guardians gave us just that, and it truly set its place for it’s own individual take on this childhood legend.
Tumblr media
Pitch Black is a fairy creative villain as well. When you hear about the Boogeyman, you don’t get very scared. The name actually sounds a little silly when you say it out loud. And even then, because of the success of The Nightmare Before Christmas, you usually think of their incarnation of the character when you hear that name. But this version of the character is actually much different. He’s not this weird, in-your-face kind of monster. He’s a very subtle, yet terrifying character. When I first saw the movie in theaters, there were kids in the room crying at moments when Pitch Black came on screen. It’s also interesting the way his powers work. We all grew up knowing the Boogeyman as someone who just hid under beds. We had no idea what magical powers he may or may not have had. So giving him the ability to morph into the darkness and into shadows was a pretty cool concept, but also solidified that he had a weakness. Light.
So, In Conclusion...
Tumblr media
As I have gotten older, I admit that this movie does look a little different to me now, versus when I saw it as a preteen. I’ve noticed some interesting flaws here and there, but I’ve also been able to remember why I fell in love with it in the first place. It’s a very different kind of movie, but that’s part of what makes it so much fun and interesting.
The characters are delightful, the villain is intimidating, the story, while awkwardly paced, is still pretty solid, and is all tied together with a great lead character. And as you get invested in the story, you’ll find yourself getting really into the all artistry that went into creating this movie.
At the end of the day, it makes me sad to see the fanbase for this movie slowly dwindling away. But I feel there are always going to be people out there who enjoy this movie. And you know what? You never know what the future holds. Perhaps there will be a movie in the distant future. Or more likely a animated series on either TV or Netflix. And for the hardcore fans, go and read the original books.
All I can say here is that, every now and again when it starts to get a little nippy outside, I’ll sit in my living room with hot chocolate and give this movie another watch.
