The way he says “You are… Pen.” so casually, as if she’s of another category all together. Most people see this as something negative, but I like to think that he respects her so highly and uses the term friend just as a descriptive, but he holds her in an even higher regard than just a friend. She’s his Pen, not a stranger, but not just a friend, either. She’s something more and different at the same time.

Saw someone in a tiktok comment section saying they got their sexual awakening from Kurt Russell in The Thing (1982) which is absolutely hysterical to imagine trying to watch THE THING for the first time and then all of a sudden your brain starts doing this:
Relatable ngl I do this when I watch the thing

I currently have writer's block and fucked around and made Iliad and Odyssey memes :'D Some look like "repeats" but aren't. Just different scenarios/people. Enjoy!
There's... A LOT. I don't care if you pick out your favorites! I put this all in one post as I don't want to spam the tags! :D

Did Penelope talk to Odysseus about it? When Odysseus was told that Helen had been abducted by a Trojan prince and all the kings of Greece were being summoned to go to war against Troy and bring her back, Odysseus didn’t think that was any of his concern and didn’t want to go, but what did Penelope think? Helen is her cousin. Penelope was raised alongside her like a sister. Did Penelope think of her beloved cousin kidnapped and taken to foreign lands? Was she afraid for her? Did she encourage her husband to go, to give the war his all, to rescue Helen and bring her home, because Helen is her family? Not for Menelaus’s sake, or even for Helen’s, but for hers. For Penelope. For Odysseus’s love for her, for him to go and join the rescue attempt for her cousin.

And in another year everything will be different yet again. It is always like that, and always will be; you are forever standing on the brink, in a place where you cannot see ahead; there is nothing of which to be certain except what lies behind. This should be terrifying, but somehow it is not.

“Colin could think of a hundred different reasons why kissing Penelope Featherington was a very bad idea, the number one being that he actually wanted to kiss her.”

I've been reading RMB today and with the trailer coming out the other day we have a much clearer idea of how part 1 is going to go and its got me thinking about how they're gonna adapt the book scenes to fit with the Debling plot.
So what if in Ep 4 Debling proposes to Pen towards the start of the episode and that's why in the Pen/Portia clip in the trailer Pen's eyes look like she thinks she's making a mistake/she's panicking and Portia's reassuring her with "you've done so well, what more could you want?"
Then at the end of the episode we have the carriage scene and the episode ends with the carriage arriving at the Featherington house and Colin ALSO proposes like "forget him, marry me". It would make such a good cliffhanger for the mid-season finale.
Then at the start of Ep.5 we can have still have a silly farcical scene with Colin and Portia that keeps the spirit of Portia's Felicity misunderstanding intact but this time she's not following Colin's meaning because Pen already has another proposal from a 'better' titled suitor?
