oughghlk have you heard this cover of forbidden friendship, i listened to it years ago and had to learn (a simpler version of) it on the piano because it was SO moving i've loved a lot of stories over the years, but something about httyd wrenches my heart especially

WOW WOW WOW that cover is so beautiful. my only thoughts are just WOW. legitimately got chills starting around the 2 min mark and then around the 3-minute mark? wow. i dont know piano but i highkey wish i did. that cover is incredibly underrated i am shocked that it doesnt have more likes and views.

httyd is not only such a moving story but like the lore and the dragons pulls me in. i watched the netflix series "race to the edge" which i dont think is canon to the second movie but it introduced so many cool dragons and characters and made me really fall in love with the groups dynamics and UGH. i got obsessed with it a few years ago and i decided to rewatch the movies and series and IMMEDIATELY was sucked in again. i underestimated how much of a dragon nerd i am.

anyway im rambling sdfjdslkfs but thank you SO MUCH @maridotnet for 'bothering' me with this it made me very happy.

I have several things i wanna work on but i cant pick one to do so ive been doin none of em

Options are

Redoing the Httyd Timeline and Ages post i made a while ago. Its all mostly accurate and the things not explicitly stated in canon i still stand by, but i found a couple other things to add in, and overall its a lil messy cause its from when first started making longer posts, so it could just do with an overhaul to clear it up a bit

Im trying to go through and make a Full AU list, with Name and a summary of what its about, so i can actually talk about em here, as well as sorting all other AUs out properly. These were all talked mostly via the Discord Server, so its literally sorting through whats gotta be hundreds of thousands of messages from over the course of >1 year. Which its great because ive deeply enjoyed talking to everyone ( Shout out to the Discord Buddies, Love yall, you're the Best🫶🫶) but my god, i should have kept on top of it lol.

This one i don't know if anyone else even really is interested in, but y'all are getting it eventually regardless, because ya know you can't stop me from making posts here, no matter how much yall may want to sometimes (Toothfull my beloved <3). Anyway the gist of this one is, idk if its just me, but a lotta times when i hear ages in a book, i understand it, but it doesn't really connect. So i like to go and find other characters and people that are the same age, especially in like movie or shows, where i can look at people that are the same age and go "Holy Shit, they're just babies" or such as the like as that if they're older (Mostly in Alvins case, that man is not as old as a lot of yall probably think he is, or maybe you don't, who am i to say what you do or do not think)

Number 4 is essentially the same thing as number 3 but height related instead. I just like making visual comparisons for a lot of these things, cause it helps put things into perspective, as well as its nice for like drawing and stuff.

This ones just Goofy. I have several sillier ships that ive had over the years, some that just fall into crack ship territory. Some of them i do actually think would be cute/sweet, others are just for the sake of going "Could you fuckin imagine". So im making a poll, much like this one, with a brief explanation, and then yall get to vote on em. I dont know if itll be for the Worst, The best, Which One is y'all's favorite, i dunno, but its gonna be something.

And then the last one i can think of is, i really don't know how to explain it, but it's talking about how, in my opinion, the Vikings view of hiccup is being accurately portrayed? Like, that's a really bad summary, but i can't think of how to explain it better so, this is kind of a vague, mystery option

“You’ve tamed it.” Scott sounds breathless at the thought, entirely taken aback by the very thought.

“I guess,” Jimmy shrugs in noncommittal agreement. “Hardly call him tamed. He’s always been pretty nice to me.”

Beyond Berk is a HTTYD AU and RP Discord server where things such as Lycanwings (basecly Weredragons if you want to go down to the basics...yes those are mentioned in canon in the Dragons: Race to the Edge series) as well as HTTYD 3 never to have happened. Aside from False Falls Au, do you normally do crossover Aus?

Nah, it's usually just here and there. The only other crossovers I have (With Mixed Media) is the Avatar AU - which isnt my au alone it was a server wide au of Ash and his pokemon being in the Avatar world- and the HTTYD AU which was less of a Crossover abd more of a retelking of HTTYD with Ash and Pokemon. No Hiccup, no Toothless and no vikings in general XD

And an Undertale AU, where again, Pokemon characters overtake the Undertale characters.

Unfortunately wasn't a big reader this year, I was more focused on reading non fanfic books but there were just a couple I can recommend:

A Tale of Two Taeils - this one is just big funzies

Reinvention - gen rex, collaring and mind control, just the best

Fancy Date - ron kamonohashi the deranged detective fic, idk why it stuck with me, but well..

Lights Out across the Server & The Storm is over - hermitcraft with sudden return of grian's... past... and again, lots of whump >:)

Phasmobros - hermits phasmophobia au, based on all the streams the GIGS team (or scar, impulse, grian and skizz) play phasmophobia together. Tons of fun, and there's even some worldbuilding and a plot woven into it

Sticks and Stones - life series + httyd crossover

11. Smallest fandom you read for?

Currently reading: Two things! I am Re-reading the "Mistery Best Friends", is a fanfiction series with the pairing of Wirt from Over the Garden Wall and Dipper from Gravity Falls xDD It's cute how awkward they are but there is mystery to solve too.

The other one is the book "Debt: The First 5,000 years" by David Graeber, is about the history of money and debt and the few myths surrounding those. I'm far from finishing this, i have to read very slowly to make sure i understand it and i don't like that i can read fanfiction faster than reading other books xD

Current obsession: Hijack and c!fundy. My notebooks and obsidian vault is full with little ideas and drabbles of different Au's i have for frostcup, mostly the His Dark Materials AU and th Doctor Who AU.

With c!fundy, with every new media and au i go, he follows me. So of course i have made an Au where he finds a way to escape the smp and arrives to the archipielago of Httyd. (Beacuse it's that or keep drawing him after the betrayal of eret and wilbur abandoning him >:') )

**For the people that don't know who c!fundy is, there was this minecraft server called Dream SMP, and one of the participants was a streamer called fundy who joined the rolplay of the smp as the son of a revolutionary man called wilbur. People made a lot of fanfiction and fanart of his minecraft character. The c! means character, to differentiate between streamer and rol character.

Some lore thoughts about the HTTYD AU:

There are very few dragons remaining, only one of each species has survived throughout the great sleep, and they all are safe in the god's realm.

However, every once and a while, the dragons will give out parts of their souls. A dragon hybrid will be born, or a world that protects dragon hybrids will be blessed. Or a world that hurts the dragon hybrids will be cursed.

And once in a blue moon, the dragons will have such respect for certain servers that some of them will take up residence in the End, after the ender dragon is defeated. Many players quickly become used to this, and upon returning to a world without these dragons, become jumpy and unsettled. After all, how can you be calm in the End without the guardian?

The dragons protected the world while the gods grew up and learned how to rule it, and they will protect it again when they need it - 🔮🐦

Despite only a few getting to see them, their legends have become known across most worlds, though not many believe them to be true, the few that reach the end and learn the truth, they're given the honour to pass the stories on.

And the ones that don't find them, well, it depends on their beliefs, some become desilusioned with the legends, others strive to truly find them.
