Behold, an Ongoing Project! 📯

I've been wanting to compile this for a while, instead of frantically scrambling for references every time I sit down to write — I thought it would be fun to share! I'm mostly tackling this from the perspective of a fanfic author, and also as someone who's very into viking era-through-renaissance men's fashion and armor.

I think it's really fun to look at the decisions that were made strategically (to maintain actor mobility, for example), because they looked cool (Faramir's pointless hinged piece on his helmet), or because they were actually period-accurate (gambesons under chainmail, or worn as armor by themselves!). I'm also taking it as a chance to point out what these garments say about their owners!

I say this in the document itself, but there's no need to credit me if you reference/use the doc for your own writing ^_^ this is some of my favorite stuff to discuss, so just getting to share it is cool enough to me.

I'm purely focusing on human characters to start, because of the more solid real-world parallels, but I'm happy to add on to this if there are other characters you'd like to see!!

if the only footage youve seen of the game doesnt actually give you a good idea of what the game/story is like (like its from a parody video or is otherwise heavily edited for example) then it doesnt count as having watched the game and you should pick little to no actual exposure to the game. only interacting with the games content through fanart/fanfic/etc also counts as little to no actual exposure to the game

Man. May I just say. I love how in this game it’s like “you have four suitors and three of them are the most repulsive men on the planet then you have this really energetic guy who wants you to step on him if he does anything bad BUT he’s trying his best”.

1:A song you like with a color in the title

"Gunjou Rain" by Jin! This is a song from the old song series Kagerou Projects (hahaha it's also Kagerou Day today so that's funnily fitting weeee). The song was from a mother to her daughter, and while I don't really remember the story behind it, it's still really nice to listen to from time to time.

20:A song that has many meanings to you

It's not lyrical at all but it does mean a lot to me. I wouldn't say it has many meanings to me in that it can be interpreted in many ways, but the weight of the song feels like many!

The song is "Piano Etude II" from the Rule of Rose OST. It plays at the very end of the game, where the protagonist says goodbye to the memories of her past, finally making peace with it and being able to carry on with her life. I still get sad every now and then thinking about the ending but it did make me realize a lot of different things so Piano Etude II feels very much like a friend in a sense!

21:A favorite song with a person’s name in the title

This is such a cheat but I think right now, it's going to be "Castti, The Apothecary" from the Octopath Traveler II (which...I should really get back to watching I was watching it for Hikari ; n ; And then my brain did the dumb thing where we went MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! and never returned. aghhghghghghghhhhh)

The song's very nice to relax to haha and feels a little homey! I was telling Springy how it reminds me a bit of the OST of an old game Eternal Sonata alskjdfh a lot of the OST for Octopath Traveler II feels similar to that game

27:A song that breaks your heart

Ah okay I give up "Fuck this world" by Rina Sawayama. I think it's because I sorta have this imagery in my head of being trapped in a spaceship, stuck in orbit around a planet but never really able to land. The world can be so terrible and you try to run but something pulls you back into its gravity.

I guess it's more that the song felt like being seen and it was really funny to run into so the song also stays with me. Maybe I should have put this for 30 but I also feel it as heartbreaking.

"Future Friends" by Tilian??? This is a weird one because I'm pretty sure I found this off a Kiibo (DRV3) playlist but haha yeah I think this one, not because of daydreaming tendencies like the last one I answered but yeah. well.

Cassy and Tally have been getting along a lot better, so I don't feel like I have to watch them like a Hawk when he's out. Tally still isn't a fan, but she just kinda leaves him alone. Im still keeping them separated when I'm asleep or out, Especially since Cassy has Endless Hunger Disease that makes it so he thinks any and every bit of food in the apartment is his (including Tally's food). She doesn't really like to eat when he's out (too busy watching him), & that coupled with Endless Hunger Disease means that having time where he's put away so she can eat is kinda a must

Ngl that's the biggest problem I have rn with figuring out how to live with both of them. I'm hoping he chills out some in time & stops trying to eat Everything. If not, I might have to have periodic times where he's locked up to give Tally a chance to eat. He won't like it, but I gotta make sure she gets food too.

#speculation nation #or she stops being so alarmed by his presence and gains confidence enough to swat him from her food. that'd be good too #i had him out for a few hours today as i was chilling & it honestly went pretty well #there was one lil squabble but there wasnt any hissing or growling so i think it was playing. at least on Cassy's side.#tally was just very much like 'do NOT touch me. get away from me. bye.'#they kinda took turns sitting next to me while i was gaming lol. snap!

"shit" is all jaemin can think as the girl he didnt even bother asking for a name peppers sloppy kisses along his neck. Her touch suddenly feeling nauseating as the flashes keep going off.

In a quick move Jaemin pushes the mystery girl off of him, hoping and praying that the camera was all his own imagination.

"What's wrong-" the puzzled girl starts before he cuts her off.

"Please just get out of the car I need to go." Jaemin says in a slur of words trying to get her out as quickly as possible. "But Jaem-"

"Please. Get out." Sternly he looks at her while unlocking his doors awaiting her leave.

"Ugh you're such a dick Na Jaemin." pouting the girl leaves the car and slams the door to head back to wherever she came from.

In the silence of the car his heart beats out of his chest before rushing home. But not before stopping at a flower shop to pick up a peony boquet. Your favorite.

Standing outside of your shared apartment Jaemin can only hope some higher power out there really can hear him and help him out. They just took the pictures, theres no way they've gone around yet. he tries to convince himself but being in this buisness for as long as he has, he'll be lucky if they aren't plastered on billboards right now.

With one final breath, boquet in hand as the other shakily reaches for the knob he goes in.

Relief washes over his anxious mind when he sees you watching television with nothing but nonchalance on your face as you witness the characters on screen laughing.

"Hey pretty lady" coyly he says as he approaches your shared couch with the boquet behind his back. Feeling relieved by the second realizing you havent seen anything yet.

"Hey Jaem" you say with the usual smile on your face. Skeptically eyeing him as he approaches with his hands behind his back. Finally standing in front of you he crouches down to land a kiss on your cheek before revealing the boquet he bought you.

"Aw you didn't have to babe." with a smile on your face you plant a kiss on a beaming Jaemin before getting up to look for a vase.

"Just felt like getting my princess something." Jaemin says following behind you before grasping your arm to pull you into his chest. Embracing you before planting a kiss on your forehead.

"Whats up with you today?" you giggle looking up at your boyfriend who can only grin back at you in order to mask his anxieties of you figuring him out. "Can't I just love my girlfriend?" Jaemin says before reaching in for another kiss.

"Which one?" you ask. His heart stops as the color begins to drain from his face.

"'nct Jaemin caught in car with girlfriend'" recalling the title of the article name as you look up at his aghast face. "I didn't know we went on a date today" you continue with not a single change in the smile you send his way. "From what I remember I've been here all day."

Jaemin's mouth opening and closing trying to form words but with no avail. All he can feel is guilt. In an attempt to save himself he starts "I don't know what you're talking about babe." he tries but fails.

"Jaemin" seperating from his grasp feeling repulsed you gulp down the lump forming in your throat. "Don't act stupid with me, I saw everything. The pictures the articles, everything." Unable to keep up the facade your face drops as your emotions finally come up to the forefront. Jaemin watches as your clear eyes become glossy with a blink, the way your face contorts into that of heartbreak and betrayal.

"B-baby you know those tabloids lie-" he lets out hesitantly trying to convince you to believe him as he walks towards you.

"Stop." finally the tears breaking through your eyes down your face all you can do is cry before continuing. "Please Jaemin, just leave I really don't want to play this game with you just please." All he can do is watch with unease as the one girl he shouldve loved and protected is hurting because of him.

"Please baby it was a misunderstanding, I don't even know that girl-"

"So all these years we spent together was worth a girl you didn't even know? Thats all we amount to? That's all I amount to? Because you couldn't keep your dick in your pants you decided to throw it all away?" through your messy tears you continue to break down. "You threw me away for a short high Jaemin." Throwing the boquet at his feet you finish. "I hope it was worth it."

Trying to push past his way Jaemin grabs your wrist. "Please baby I'm sorry it didn't mean anything." going on his knees to express his sincerity. Refusing to meet his eyes you attempt to pull your arm away to no avail as he brings your hand to his lips and lands a chaste kiss before sliding it to his cheek. "I know I fucked up please baby I promise I'll make it up to you." Jaemin continues to spill out to try and break through to you. All you could do is let out an exasperated laugh before finally looking at him kneeled before you with pleading eyes. The same eyes that promised you his future, the eyes that had all the answers you needed. The same eyes that threw it all away for a second of bliss.

Hurt and anger leaving you feeling nauseated as the tears kept falling down your face. You felt so betrayed that he could do this to you and so unabashedly beg for your forgiveness after crushing your heart like it was something as accessible as whats under his pants.

"You promised me you wouldn't be like him Jaemin. You promised you wouldn't hurt me the way he did." is all you could cry out without continuing to break down. And just like that Jaemin is left stumped trying to find words that won't come out, any word that he hoped would change your mind but nothing formed because he knew he lost you.

All the feelings of betrayal, insecurity, heartache, grief, new and old consumed you as the wounds in your heart continued to drive deeper with every aching memory that rushes back to you until all you feel is complete numbness watching the man who was once the love of your life hurt you in unimaginable ways. With not another word you turn around, walk out that door and never turn back.

That being said, I havent written *that much* these last couple of weeks, so I'm sorry if my writing is a bit rusty, I did give it my best tho.

Anyway, hope you enjoy!

Shenhe

Sometimes, Shenhe couldn’t help but find you… weird. You had no problems talking to complete strangers, happily chatting away as if you knew each other from way back in your childhood, were comfortable with praising, complimenting or saying other things many humans seemed to find embarrassing to her, and yet, when your hand as much as brushed against hers while walking side-by-side you’d apologize as if there was no tomorrow while your face turned all manner of red.

Perhaps you getting embarrassed from touching her wasn’t the weird part and your willingness to voice your feelings was, or perhaps these were two entirely different things that Shenhe had yet to understand.

So when the day came you turned shy simply by talking, it immediately caught her attention. And yet, your words didn’t seem to match your behavior at all. Wasn’t it normal or even expected for couples to kiss? Why were you getting so worked up about it?

“Sure”, she responded so bluntly that, for a brief moment, even you were starting to wonder why you had been so nervous in the first place.

She’d have to make sure to ask you about it later, although that could wait a bit, considering how happy and relieved you looked at this moment.

Eula

Being direct had never been Eula’s strength, so much was clear from the moment you first spoke to her. The Lawrence instead choosing to encrypt her true feelings and opinions in a matter that easily came over as aloof and stand-offish. And while you quickly took up her manner of speech when around her, your adaptiveness made the moments you broke character so much more jarring.

So when you asked her whether or not it was alright for you to kiss her suddenly and out of nowhere (also known as dusk at the end of a long date), with a face as red as a crimson fabric and enough tripping over your words to make a drunkard shake their head in disbelief, Eula couldn’t help but be caught off-guard.

Before she knew it, her face was on its way to mirror yours. The proud aristocrat suddenly finding herself at a loss for words as she desperately attempted to string together enough words to save face. Each second making the whole situation so much more embarrassing.

And yet, Eula somehow managed to regain her composure in time, swallowing whatever remnants of surprise and embarrassment she felt before speaking up with her usual grin.

“You may try, although you should think twice about it. I am a Lawrence after all, so you should know better than to trust us. But since it’s you, I might even allow you to leave in one piece.”

Ayaka

As the eldest daughter of the Kamisato Clan, the leaders of the Yashiro Commission in charge of cultural and ceremonial affairs, Ayaka was well-versed in all sorts of ancient traditions. And while she found no use for traditional courting rituals, she couldn’t help but pick up on them while trying to memorize the rest.

All of which was to say that once the two of you started to go out, her expectations and knowledge about relationships were somewhat outdated or out of place. So when the day came that you shyly asked her whether or not you could kiss her, Ayaka’s brain short circuited, not expecting you to ask in such an outright and sudden manner.

“Ah. You- What?” As the princess began stumbling over her words, she suddenly missed the days she could hide behind her paperwall while talking to you, getting all the positives from talking to you while not having to worry about her body-language. And yet, here you were, both of you slowly but surely getting more nervous and panicked as the awkward silence stretched on.

“That came out of nowhere, j-just forget I said anything”, you eventually broke the silence, too embarrassed to even look in her direction as you suddenly pretended to find a nearby tree irresistibly interesting.

When you eventually did turn back towards her however, only to be greeted with a kiss that was supposed to land on your cheek and instead ended up on the corner of your mouth and an Ayaka whose face turned even redder than before, your face heated up once again as you looked instinctively looked away, all the while wearing a large smile.

As you all know i love Justice League Meet The Batfamily au fics. And i was thinking about how i havent yet read one focusing solely on Signal. Heres one idea on how it could go

Im thinking a au where the JL know Batman has Gotham associates to a extent (aka that he has some, no one knows how many, theres "Robin" but Robin is obviously switched out by another person every few years, etc) and maybe they know Nightwing but thats it. The extended batclan are playing assassin. And Duke gets Bruce. Which is majorly daunting. And pretty much a guaranteed failure. Duke is disappointed but decides to give it his all anyways

Now, there are ofc rules. One is you cant get anybody at work or school. However, "work" only applies to day jobs. Night time escapades are fair game. So Duke targets Bruce where he'll feel safest: the Watchtower. Its basically off limits for the kids. Does that break some rules? Yes. But it doesnt break any of the assassin rules and therefore the defeat will still count

Duke has to recruit some help, obviously. Babs is absolutely down for this. She messes with the zeta to not announce him and does some other stuff. Maybe causes a annoying distraction? Maybe helps make it look like there is a intruder onboard and helps Signal pick off members one-by-one like a horror movie? Maybe Duke just sits in a vent for 4 hours? Maybe another batkid shows up and starts a scene so Batman is focused on parenting them while standing surrounded by his colleagues so he wont feel there is a threat?

Either way Duke shoots Bruce with half a canister of yellow paintballs when no one was expecting a attack/a gun fight

Bruce is shocked. He's just looking at his hand where his fingers touched "the wound" aka the paint. Everyone is either stunned in silence or screaming bc Batman is down

And Signal comes out in the open with the paintball gun on his shoulder all smug. And theres commotion before Batman starts laughing. Everyone looks over. And Bruce just wades through the JL before reaching Duke. Congratulates him, Bruce beaming with pride, and Batman hugs him. Commotion once more: "what just happened!?" "Who is this?" "Is Batman hugging?!" I like it when ppl write Bruce as affectionate around his kids so maybe its a excited swaying hug where Bruce is laughing as he pulls Duke to him and drops a kiss on his head. One of his kids managed to get the drop on him! he's ecstatic! This is a milestone moment!

and maybe then whover has Duke as a target shoots him right as everyone calms down

road rage headcanons

note i am going in with the assumption they know how to. If they have a license is up in the air (they probably dont)

Scout: My boy grew up in Boston, we have the worst fucking roads on the planet. Go ahead and google worst cities to drive in in the US Boston and Worcester will be in the top 5, trust me. Therefore Scout is a terrible driver. He tailgates, leans out the window to shout at people, middle finger all the time, slashes tires and breaks windows, etc etc. He's also just bad at driving. I think his first instinct when road rage takes over is to slam his palm on the horn and lean out his window and scream, even if he's driving, even if he's on the highway. Also he goes like 100 mph and passes people and doesnt use his turn signal.

Soldier: He also cant fucking drive, helmet covering his eyes or not. He's a generally jolly guy while driving though, just dont take him into cities. He will HATE waiting at lights. If he gets honked it, its all over for you, he will get out and grab you through the window by the neck.

Pyro: I dont think Pyro gets road rage all that often tbh, they're a calm driver. Sure the pyroland mask probably influences their choices and what they see but they're overall chill. Don't let them have access to under the car's hood though. Don't.

Demoman: He's nervous about driving, since he has one eye and he's destined sooner or later to become blind, also he's often drunk, so he usually lets other people drive. But if he's ever cut off and misses his exit on these shite american roads, or the shit maps and constant km to miles conversions gets to him, he will shout one big loud shout and then everyone in the car shuts up. if he's drunk he'll start sobbing and hating himself and then oh no the car is in a ditch

Heavy: You don't want to see Heavy mad. When Heavy is mad on the road, he will force the person who fucked with him to pull over and as they're screaming at him he will combine his fists and then slam them onto the car's hood so hard it's almost in half, then leave the guy there and get back in the car. He also shouts one big loud shout and everyone in the car shuts up.

Engineer: Man is also a quiet angry, but he plays the long game, he's more sneaky about it. He will use a device to fuck up someone's car without them knowing, offer to help them, then through his godlike engineering skills the car will do some unimaginable horror the second it starts up and he will drive away laughing. He isn't as skilled with the one big shout that heavy and demo are, so he'll be patient and wait until they're out of the car to fuck up Scout whoever was being loud and obnoxious in his car.

Medic: Does what Engie does, but to the person instead of the car. He also doesn't care if it's broad daylight in the middle of a city he'll just rearrange their skeleton right then and there then speed away. Average tuesday for him tbh. and also unlike Engie when he's done he'll be his usual cheerful happy giggly self right after as if it didnt happen. I think it'd take a lot to make him mad, cause he brushes it off by going 'im too amazing and sexy and beautiful for this shit'. He also HATES american roads, and hates having to constantly do km to mph conversions and drive on the wrong side

Sniper: He's the most chill i think, but he has definitely killed someone on the side of a road in the middle of nowhere and then left their body there. It takes a fair bit to give him road rage. When he does he just, follows. He's a patient man he'll get his revenge. I can also see him leaning out the window and giving the finger while shouting 'WANKA' though.

Spy: He does Medic's 'im too beautiful and sexy for this' but to a higher extreme. He's tooootally above road rage, toooootally. He toootally didnt leave a body on the side of the road and they still havent been found to this day, nope. His car is also expensive as hell, so no one touches him on the road for fear of having to pay damages on it.

Okay so this is long overdue, but might as well. I guess this is an observation of fandom Jeremy as much as the canon one, so don't come at me.

I dunno read Jeremy as having BPD bcs... bcs honestly have you ever met anyone who has Sunshine shining from their ass? Me neither. Though I have met ppl with severe personality issues who had a coping mechanism like that, of course they weren't young and talented sportsmen looked up to by many ppl and rooted for by many, so they had enough free space and privacy to go absolutely fucked up at other ppl when they were having bad brain hours.

Yes im including myself here.

The name of the game is If I Give Them No Reason to Leave Me They Won't.

Or If I Give Them No Things To Hate Me For They Won't Hurt me.

But spice it up with black and white thinking, paranoia and unhelathy behaviours jumping off the standard spectrum of bottling things out into like, going on a 4 hour run to cool off bcs you are undeserving bcs you are a bad captain bcs you're annoyed at the freshmen bcs they dont care about your shared goals enough and is thay really a them issue? Or is it actually a You issue? Are you blaming others for your own failures again? Look at yourself, you're fucking pathetic, and egoistic at that, you demand things from others but how do you show you care for what others need huh? You think you're a good captain? Keep telling yourself that, before you know it they will all turn against you. Because you're a failure, bcs you cant even make them care? Maybe you're just not a good enough player , or maybe they can see straight through you, see what you are udnerneath the happy exterior. Yo have just not good enough, not trying hard enough, and you want them to look up to.. to That???

This is a light version of course but I bet Jeremy is that person that dissapears sometimes like at parties ect bcs they are doing some absolutely stupid shit like having sex with a complete stranger or getting drunk but they know enough about the emptiness and self hatred they will feel ten minutes after they succumb to thay behaviour that they learned to do it when the judgment of the ppl who know them won't touch this piece of him. Bcs it feels like a separate piece.

Like he is parcelled into different breeds of fucked up inside and they are all set on a loop in a music playing machine from a highway diner. One song ends another starts you can choose which one if you throw in a dime.

And also we gotta add in the sensory issues, he sees things, he hears them, sometimes he does a dodge while there's nothing coming bcs he thought it was. Some weeks it feels almost he lives from one training to the next bcs he doesn't remember a minute from what's in between. Good thing he taught himself this sunny persona bcs its an autopilot mode that gets him having to answer the least amount of questions when he doesn't fucking remember what happened from 8 am till late afternoon that day.

Ruben knew all about your crush, it was blatantly obvious.

You hung around with the girlfriends when they had games, you and Erling were good friends and he always brought you along. At first, Ruben was sure you and Erling were a thing but a drunken confession told him that you two did like each other when you were younger but nothing came of it so you were just friends.

Slowly by slowly, you and Ruben became friends as well. He knew it was more than friendship; friends don’t look at each other the way you looked at him, or the way you stared, how he looked for you in the crowd when he scored.

The match against Liverpool had ended a while ago, most of the guys were clearing out to head home but Erling had forget his phone in the locker room and asked you if you could get it for him.

It should be empty in there, almost everyone was gone at that point; at least no one would be naked you thought.

You knocked on the door, before peeking in to see if anyone was in there and as suspected, it was empty.

Walking in, you walk over to get the phone but a voice startles you.

“What are you doing back here?” He calls and you jump, turning around to see who it was as if you didn’t already know.

“I uh- I came to get Erling’s phone.” You saw, showing him the phone in your hand.

Ruben hums, walking over to get his shorts. He stood a few feet away from you, towel hanging off his hips. “How come you haven’t left yet?” You ask him, shifting from one leg to the other.

“Why haven’t you? You got what you came for, haven’t you?” He says, looking over at you. You can feel yourself pressing your thighs together and Ruben doesn't miss the movement either.

He takes a step towards you, “or is there something else you needed ?” His face is inches from yours and you finally bring yourself to speak. “What do you mean ?”

“I see the way you look at me, y/n.” his hand reaches for you, fingers ghosting over your hip.

“How do I look at you?” Your eyes find his, hoping you can play it off.

“Like you wanna fuck me.” He smiles and your eyes widen a bit but you scoff, playing it off. “I don’t.”

Ruben leans into you, his lips brushing against your ear, “do you think of me when you touch yourself?” You feel him pull you flat against him, your chest pressed to his. He looks at you, waiting for an answer. “Do you?”

You nod, and that was an answer enough.

Ruben’s lips find yours, the man lift you and your legs wrap around his waist. He looks at you and then puts you down, your head tilts to the right a bit when you look at him, clearly confused.

“I’m not fucking you for the first time in this disgusting room, wait for me outside ?” He says and you hum nodding. “Wait, he's waiting for me to go home.”

“Tell him we're getting dinner, I’ll drop you home.” Ruben says, dropping his towel and you look away, stealing a glance. He can't help but notice, chucking at your behaviour.

“Go, before he comes looking for you.” He shoos you but grabs your hand before you can walk away. He’s got his shorts on now but he kisses you, giving your ass a smack before you walk off.

hi!! im still alive!! + updates on this blog

first: i would like to apologize for disappearing without a word for like. nearly a year. im terribly sorry for any worry i've caused T_T;;

honestly i have no good excuse for disappearing like i did especially without reason (not that im obligated to let everyone know my business but i did have a "i wont randomly disappear!" sentiment and yet... here i am) but in a nutshell, its basically: fandom shifts, college, and guilt.

if you want to know about the future of this blog fandom wise;

still going to be a lookism/viral hit blog (havent caught up yet) but most likely wont be as active in the fandom anymore;;; thinking of sticking as a lookism blog until that series ends but who knows when it will so i might eventually just change fandoms 😭

please dont feel bad about unfollowing or anything!! curate what u wanna see with who u follow, i take no personal offense, even if we've been long time mutuals!! ><

fandom shifts will probably be more common; i have this weird thing where i cant focus on multiple interests or i get stressed;; so i get obsessed with one thing for months/years but then once i lose interest and move on, its likely i wont return to it unless something triggers it. thats why i dont think "multifandom" fits me, i'll always be fandom focused, its just the fandom focus changes 😭

got into a new interest which made me stop looking at lookism/viral hit stuff -> knowing my blogs are lookism focused, i decided to take a "break"

couldnt get myself back into lookism after my "break" ended -> couldnt get myself back on tumblr

started to feel guilty because i havent been active in a long while

senior year ending, school takes my priorities -> summer break comes, i swear i'll apologize on tumblr but guilt eats away at me and then i have to do college stuff

become a little active on tiktok, start feeling more guilty because im active there but not on tumblr

college begins, get busy with college stuff -> during breaks, swear i'll apologize on tumblr pt 2 but the guilt has piled up so much it feels like the equivalent of when a person cant get themself to reopen their animal crossing new leaf game because they havent touched it in a long time

first college semester ends, winter break starts -> finally convince myself to get over it and start typing all this up

once again im really sorry T_T i was not made for the content creator life bc i cant stay active for shit + i feel so bad gaining followers for one thing but once i move on from that one thing, it feels like im disappointing a lot of ppl even tho i know i dont owe strangers on the internet anything- im just repeating myself now but yknow

• One thing Soap hated the most about their relationship was how often Simon would shut him out

• He always feared that Simon might leave him one day.

• "What's wrong?"

• "Nothing"

• "Come on Simon it's 2am obviously somethings wrong"

• "I just need to be alone. Go back to sleep"

• His voice was harsh and low.

• "Fine"

• Of course soap wasn't going back to sleep. Not until Simon came to bed.

• He was worried. So he went back to the kitchen where Simon was pouring another drink

• "I told you to leave me alone didn't I mactavish"

• "Shut up. I'm starting to think you don't trust me enough to tell me what the hell Is wrong"

• Simon after a while looked at Soap

• "I do trust you."

• "Stop closing up on me Simon. I love you but you can't keep drinking like this, you need sleep."

• Physical touch wasn't something Simon was comfortable doing

• But he didn't mind when Johnny would do it.

• So the hug came as a surprise to Soap.

• "Can you just hold me for a bit"

• "Of course"

• "I know you don't want to talk about it right now but you'll have to tell me soon"

• "Why don't we go back to bed Simon I'm sure you're tired"

• Simon nodded finally letting of Soap.

• Once in bed Johnny once again held Simon in his arms

• "I've been having that dream again"

• He frowned

• "I'm sorry. I wish you told me sooner."

• "I didn't know how to tell you" • "It's okay to have feelings Simon. We're not at war anymore. We have a house. I'm right here nothings going to happen to me"

• Now soap wasn't sure if that had helped but he hoped it did

• "I can't promise that I'll tell you everything that's happening with me. But I'll try"

Oh Anon you are SO LOVELY!!! Thank you not only in giving me the opportunity to rant more about Sean and Lenny (which I am always so willing to do), but also for your super kind words!! Sean is very dear to me, and I'm glad my reading into him as much as I do strikes a chord with other people ;;u;;

The way the general fandom often characterizes him isn't very surprising to me, given his personality & the surface level impressions he gives, but maybe for now I'll save THAT rant for another time, else we stay here forever lmaoo

So, to start answering your question, I believe you're talking about my post from a few months ago, where I talk about how I believe Sean & Lenny would've sided with Arthur & John if they'd lived to see the final confrontation. In it I mention how I find that final confrontation a lot more unlikely were Lenny & Sean to survive that far and stick around for the entire thing.

Now, WHY do I believe this? I touch on it briefly in that original post, but let's really get into it here!!

Okay to start off, there's a LOT of ways I see things going, in regards to Sean and Lenny, were they both to survive, because it adds SO MANY variables, but let's start at the very top.

At a meta level, it is important to recognize that RDR2 is a prequel to RDR1. This meant from the get that RDR2, as it is canonically, was bound to a certain outcome, to set up for RDR1. This ALSO means, that every step from the start of RDR2 was very much there not only to lay the groundwork for the end of RDR2 but also add another emotional layer to RDR1. This is all certainly things we are aware of already, but I think it's important to have that context in mind while we talk about alternative outcomes.

Because, see, Sean and Lenny HAD to die for the outcome in RDR2 to be the one it is. Not only them, but Hosea, Kieran, Molly, and Susan's deaths are ALL integral and important to the story, they ALL make a difference and contribute in pushing the story a certain way, and in reinforcing the steadily increasing hopelessness which infest the gang from Sean's death and out.

So if we're like "what if none of them died?" there are suddenly a LOT of new variables for every mission and every scenario we know from the game, which need to be considered. This is true EVEN if the change in survival count is only reduced to Lenny & Sean.

How different do you not think Shady Belle would have felt, initially, without Sean's death hanging over it? What about the bank job -- would Lenny & Sean end up on the boat to Guarma? What would've happened to them there, then? Would either of them be caught by the Pinkertons instead, with John or in his stead maybe? What other options would there have been, where would they end up at the end of that?

And already here we have to consider how those experiences might've impacted them psychologically, because of who they are.

In the post I mentioned earlier, I talk about how Lenny is new to the gang and probably isn't as stuck in it mentally as Arthur and John, nor do Sean and Lenny have the same emotional attachment/baggage in regards to Dutch. They're loyal of course, because they feel a sense of obligation to the gang, because it provides them with safety, friends, and allies, in an otherwise unkind world.

But what then happens when that changes?

How do you expect Sean and Lenny to respond when the gang starts turning on itself? When Dutch visibly starts losing it? When people start snapping at each other and threatening one another in the middle of camp?

(I have a half-formed thought here about how people would ABSOLUTELY be snapping and talking down to Sean in a way more cruel way towards the end of the game, for trying to keep things light and easy, yknow, fulfilling his role in the gang. I can only imagine what that'd end up doing to him, tbh.)

And, I'll be repeating myself from other posts here, but how do you think Lenny, a young black man painfully aware of the social structure as it exists in America at that point in time, would react to realizing what Dutch's plan with the Wapiti is? Same goes for Sean, who has SEVERAL instances through the game showing him just as politically aware as Lenny - certainly moreso than Arthur.

Would the outcome for the Wapiti tribe be the same, do you think, if Charles had more people than a very sick and tired Arthur to lean on, willing to help? Would Lenny in particular want to stick around to see Dutch attempt to drive the tribe into the ground for his own gain?

Also, I'm sorry but like, Lenny has a camp interaction with Dutch where he disagrees with him (about Miller, Dutch's favorite author) and explains why in a very well-articulated manner. In one instance, Dutch gets straight up offended by it, bcz Lenny can argue very well (and is RIGHT mind you lol).

I do absolutely believe that Lenny would not just sit around quietly in Beaver Hollow. I'd expect him to be among the most vocal in their discontent with the situation, and probably the best at arguing against Dutch.

That is, up until a certain point. Lenny is a young black boy, and Dutch is a white authority figure. Watch Dutch snap and yell at him, like he does John in Ch6 for example, and see how much longer Lenny sticks around fr. The trade is loyalty for safety and the same in kind. Why do you think members start leaving when things start looking their worst? And don't you think Lenny would be among the first to see the writing on the wall?

Though that is hinging on that very specific vibe in Beaver Hollow, where they're all scattered and losing their ties to one another. Add then in Sean, who is VITAL as social glue, and for making conversations easier. If he, and Lenny, and Mary-Beth, Tilly, Arthur, Charles, etc etc, insert your favorites here, managed to retain some of that community feeling, despite it all, then I absolutely see Lenny sticking around for them.

Same goes for Sean, tbh. I can see him leaving earlier, bcz the trade stops being equal and bcz he's not being taken seriously, and I can see him staying, for his friends.

There IS also a version of things where things are similar and I do see Sean siding with Dutch; but that is a very sad and lonely Sean, who is VERY different from where he's at in Clemens Point, and I think that's an unfair perspective to take for him in general.

Okay so, now we're back to that final confrontation, after I said I found it unlikely, why is that? Because, with every question I've posed thus far, about what Lenny & Sean's reactions might've been to canon events after their deaths, I have essentially presented a variable that comes with their survival to those points. Them being there for it, HAS to mean a change, has to mean something different happens, because their deaths are direct contributors to the path we already know the story takes WITHOUT their presences.

Now, what are those differences and changes? I honestly can't answer; something being different earlier or later can butterfly-effect into something completely new or remarkably similar to what we already know. I could sit here all day and wax poetic about all the different options and possibilities for where things could go, were ANY character to survive past their death point, BUT thankfully, that is what fanfiction is for, lol.

sober yuu would be pretty light footed i think. the type of person who accidentally scares people because it's like she just materialized behind them. shes a lil clumsy tho, not super spatially aware so its not uncommon to hear a thud and a groan from the other room cos shes walked into something lol.

blasted yuu... no sense of coordination whatsoever, falling all over herself and anyone/anything in her path. leaves a path of destruction wherever she goes. should be firmly seated the whole time for everyone elses safety 😭

27. if applicable, do they have a favorite sport? do they play any sports or prefer to watch?

not particularly interested in sports but if she had to pick one it would be baseball for both watching and playing! its a low stakes sport you can chill out to for the most part (<- opinion of guy who has never seen the lengths jyushimatsu goes to for baseball)

she won't say no to joining in on people's games regardless of the sport but i think if they know her at all they secretly wouldn't want her on their team bc she'd make them lose.

showing she cares - makes a mental note of things her friends/partner enjoy and brings them up. "this reminds me of u!! ^_^" etc... and through physical touch, she likes hugs and patting ppl on the shoulder or back to reassure them/make her presence known! this is gap moe 2 me bc shes shy about it only if its pda... also she likes making cute bento to share.

when she dislikes someone - she tries So Hard to be polite to everybody but her face always betrays her lol. will be saying and doing nice things while unknowingly giving the Yuuchan Stare... sounds polite but anyone can tell shes struggling to stay composed. nightmare world. she doesnt really interact with people she dislikes if she can help it though, to her it makes more sense to save herself the headache of putting herself in an uncomfortable/tense situation

29. are they associated with any particular element (air, earth, fire, water)?

i havent thought about this one much before but she gives off earthy energy to me? most of the time shes like a voice of reason but in a nice way. at the same time though i could also see her as air bc shes kinda head empty and does what she wants when she wants on impulse lol

30. do they smell like anything notable?

yuuchan strikes me as Perfume Enjoyer... nothing crazy heavy, but if u got close enough i think she would smell like something sweet. like strawberries or a mix of soft fruity scent ^_^ all her hair products are 110% strawberry scent.
