i know it's 2023 and making "anti" posts is not the vibe but i truly do not care for gansey and ronan as a romantic ship. they have always had a brotherly bond to me ESPECIALLY when ronan and declan were on the outs gansey was always there for ronan to lean on in that way. also idk gansey's care towards ronan always struck me as more uhhh patronizing ( not in negative way although sometimes DEFINITELY in a negative way lol ) so it has always felt weird to me seeing them as anything other than friends and chosen brothers EDIT: and ONE more thing i think the main reason i don't jive with this ship is because gansey deserves to not have to be the caretaker in his relationship and ronan deserves to feel like he is competent and mature enough as he is in his and i don't think either of them can give each other this. which means it ultimately would never be a romantic dynamic between equals.

Glasses Review - Firmoo

Hello vision impaired friends, I bring you the gospel of Ordering Your Damn Glasses Online

I have previously ordered from EyeBuyDirect (luxotica/lenscrafters'/America's Best in disguise, sorry.) and Zenni Optical ( most well known online provider, A+ would recommend) and have seen lots of ads for free pairs from a competitor, Firmoo. I have too much prescription for the free pair offers to ever work out from ANY provider, but their fun designs put them on my list.

When my current glasses broke, I was dinking around and saw their current promotion is Buy One Get One Free PLUS 20% off lenses and as lenses are the real $$$ I jumped on that like tigger on crack. I am VERY nearsighted with astigmatism and the average pair of glasses from lenscrafters used to cost me $300 minimum.

After much deliberation with a million tabs open and a poll I ignored the results of for Reasons, I ordered a pair of clear frames and a pair of purple steampunk-y wireframes . Two pairs of HIGH PRESCRIPTION glasses for $87 shipped. I could cry, y'all.

Note: I have an up to date prescription and a nifty app that measures Pupillary Distance or 'PD'. you will need both these things accurate to have the best experience buying your glasses online.

I ordered them 9/22, they shipped 9/25, I received them 9/29 with regular shipping. They came well packed - each pair was in a bag made of cleaning cloth material inside a sturdy plastic case and they come in a foil bubble mailer.

Both pairs feel well made, with lots of attention to detail-

however I did not pay attention to detail or pay extra money for the Re-he-heaaallly thin lenses. So the clear ones are slightly too big and I hate the way the nose pieces sit, while the purple ones are a wee bit small across the temple and heavy to boot. I haven't had dents in my nose like this since I was 12.

the website lists their exchange policy as 30 days, the pamphlet that came with the glasses says 60. Either way it was pretty painless to go into my order history and select "exchange". The form I filled out with my reasons for dissatisfaction promised me I would be contacted within 24 hours.

My 'personal Firmoo consultant', 'Karen', emailed me with a code for the full price before discount of both pairs + standard shipping, as well as the usual customer service canned answers about checking the sizing information and did I know I could upgrade the lenses?

Also I could keep the failed pairs 'FOR NOW', here are some places that accept glasses as donations. (mixed messages, Karen, but sweet!)

New friends are April006, round anodized wireframes with a cute dingly gem thing, and Sandy020 , literal tortoiseshell cat eye frames.

This time I used the site's search terms to cut the temple width and earpiece length options down and double checked the weight of the base frames. (14g vs 24g for the round wireframes before my coke-bottle lenses. RIP my nose. )

New order was placed 10/5 and they arrived 10/17 . (last time I checked the tracking estimated arrival had creeped from the 19th up to the 23rd so grain of salt. This may be a tactic to make the order feel like it got here faster or legit delays. In my case there was a federal holiday involved.)

Complete disclosure I'm gonna grab a pair of pliers and take the little dangly off the wireframes. It makes a noise when I move my head and if I don't fold the frames in the right order when I take them off it'll scratch up the lenses. I ain't gonna remember to avoid that, so off it goes.

The Good:

Large selection, Good Quality, Good Communication. Lots of Off the Beaten Path options for internet weirdos. Firmoo p much always has a promotion going.

My wallet is so happy. SO HAPPY. Frames run $20-30ish to start. lenses will vary with your prescription and options.

The Bad:

Not flexible about lens options- you go down one track and pick your options within that. If there was a way to put tinting on a pair of glasses other than blue light blocking I couldn't find it. (in contrast I believe Zenni lets you choose a range of colors and tint depth on any pair, designed as sunnies or not)

You Will Get Emails. Firmoo REALLY wants you to buy more glasses and post about it and tell your friends and HERE THIS CODE IS ONLY GOOD FOR 3 DAYS, GO BUY NEW GLASSES. They are marketing themselves to fashionable young influencers who change styles every month. Unsubscribe with impunity.

like Zenni, this is a company with the majority of it's functionality based overseas. It's cheaper because you're ordering directly from a factory and not paying Luxotica's markups to itself. Customer service is mostly English as Second Language speakers and there may be delays.

Not For Emergencies. I was able to coast on a pair of glasses from a prescription or 2 ago but it's gonna take time for your order to be made and shipped.

Overall I'm very happy with them and will probably order again.

Next time I have spare money I'm aiming at Wherelight because y'all. they are next down on the list of reputable to shady AF but they have the most amazing WTF designs.

DO NOT try to convince me to like or tolerate Byleth/student ships, ESPECIALLY the ones with the lords (aka CIaude, Dimitri, EdeIgard). I already summarized why I don’t like FE3H Byleth ships with student chars here. While the spinoff game FEW3H has now removed that teacher/student problematic situation, the fandom keeps putting the FE3H elements into the FEW3H fanworks (i.e. remembering Byleth from “another life” trope)...so no thanks!! DO NOT SHOW ME IT!!!

As for the Byleth ships with faculty members, my response is here so don’t try to bait me about that topic either thanks.

I do not care whom you ingame S-support. 3Houses limits the dating-sim part of the game to that character, so I cannot care less about how you play the game. The main issue I have is when people treat Byleth the “character” as a legit ship material when I personally think they are a cool character ruined by fans who are too obsessed with badly executed self insert otome tropes bc they self-project super hard onto them. The Legend of Zelda and shipping

I can't understand people who are like "I only ship Link in every game with one single character ever." What the hell... HOW?!

This seems to be most most common with people who ship Zelda/Link or "Zelink" — always wanting every Zelda to be with Link, because they're the main characters, though the phenomenon does exist with Malink and some other ships as well. And that’s not to hate on Zelink and Malink, because I love them! SPECIFIC INCARNATIONS of them, I mean.

Because there are a bare minimum of EIGHT different incarnations of Link, and you can’t tell me you think every single dude named Link has chemistry with/should have romance with every single girl named Zelda. Like EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.? I just can't with that. It's unfathomable, IMO.

I mean, OKAY, let me back that up: I get that people find it romantic to think that these are like... some kind of soulmates who always find each other through every reincarnation ala Hawkman and Hawkgirl or something, but it's not like they even display the same personality traits or share memories or something in each version of themselves. They just... act like totally different people quite regularly. Because by all accounts, they are.

Furthermore... shit - if we assume the incarnations are all descendants of one another and the same descendancy lines keep hooking up with the same partner lines, at what point do we wind up becoming dangerously incestuous with this repeated pairing? Because that shit seems INEVITABLE in such a case…?

NAH, my fam — I believe each Link and each Zelda are their own person, with their own traits. Their only unifying truth is that every person Link will ALWAYS look best in a green tunic and matching green, pointy flop-hat. (Sorry; I don't make the rules. Facts is facts.)

With that in mind, these are my sundry ships for various Links. And I apologize in advance for the fact that they're all boringly het. :P

Skyward Sword — Zelink, absolutely. Childhood Friend Romance always gets me right in the heart. I love these two together. The casual playfulness and fondness they display. The lengths they'll go to in order to see each other/protect each other. And although Zelda loses some of her distinct personality when she learns she's a reincarnation of Hylia, she gets her groove back near the end, so it's all good.

Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask/SC2 — Malink with a bullet. The singing farmgirl and the boy without a fairy, two people who felt alone in the world and find each other. The nicknames! "Don't be long, fairy boy." The fact that you can declare your romantic intentions for Malon while you're still a fucking KID! The Gossip Stone that tells you how much Malon pines to be saved from her daily life by a hero on a horse! It's SO GOOD.

Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass — I'm only mentioning this era because this Link is an ACTUAL CHILD. He's like, what? EIGHT? Maybe ten, if we're feeling generous? So I just want to say: Yeah... I just can't bring myself to ship this literal child with anybody. It ain't RIGHT.

Link's Awakening — Marink. If you weren't feeling these two by the time their sunset beach conversation wrapped up, I don't know what to even say to you. This was probably my first serious ship from playing the TLoZ games. Plus this ship is a good reason why the original black-and-white Game Boy version's secret ending is actually the best version of that bonus scene.

Twilight Princess — Ilink. Is there even any other contender worth mentioning? The writing and direction of the cut scenes makes it pretty clear that Link and Ilia are sweet on each other. You barely even meet Zelda in this game, and the only other option would probably be, well... Midna? You know - your partner imp that spends most of the game trash-talking you for her personal lulz and repeatedly slamming her body weight down HARD onto your spine? Mm, I’ll pass.

Breath of the Wild/Age of Calamity/TotK — Miphlink/Miphalink, no items, FINAL DESTINATION. Their story makes my heart just ACHE. The flashback to Mipha healing him up... Mipha's diary (OMFG that diary)... the Zora armor and its descriptions... holy SHIT, fam. And even if that story DIDN'T melt me into a complete puddle, Zelda put herself out of consideration by stealing my fucking house. I don’t understand why she pulled that, but given her privileged upbringing, I doubt she understands the value/expense of home ownership. So maybe she thought this was like yoinking a french fry. :P

Haven't Played — The only major entry I haven't played yet is "Spirit Tracks" on the DS. So I can't speak to that incarnation at this point. But the two things I can say is A) The Zelda/Link relationship sure appears cute? but B) This is also the same style of Link seen in Wind Waker, so I won't be surprised if she's supposed to be a LITERAL CHILD again (and therefore not a shippable character for me).

Sorry if this bothers you, I just need to share this with someone else cuz I'm so shocked after that.... If you don't want to post this then don't.

I thought that I knew how they can be but having a direct confrontation made left me literally SHOCKED because I've never encountered & talked with people so onto something to the point that they misunderstand what they read with their own eyes.

They claimed that Bakugo and Izuku's character developement only happeneds when they are together wich is just SO WRONG. For Bakugo you could argue that it is like that because he learns to calm down and accept other ppl but with Izuku it is clear as hell that it's not the case. Take vigilante deku arc as an exampre, take those last chapters as an example of Izuku's developement that is not done alongside Bakugo's.

But what actually shocked me the most was the "Bakugo saw All Might's vestige so he must be inside ofa" but it didn't go in the direction you might think it went.

Instead of saying that he still has ofa embers left or something the guy who started the thread with their bkdk ramblings said that it was confirmed by Hori that Bakugo has no embers left and that the reason why he can join the vestige realm is because his "feeligs of love" broke the rules of ofa. Wdym broke the rules of ofa you ask? Well he was bringing up the panel in which it was explained Afo's plan to steal ofa by using Tomuras hatred. Yeah. That is how Bkg "broke" ofa's rules. Bc if Afo is "enhanced" by hatred, whatever this means, it has NEVER happened nor implied, then ofa's rule for new users to be passed on/someone to exist in the realm can be affected by love. This was never even implied to be able to happen. It's just bullshit. HE AIN'T COMING BACK THIS ARC LET HIM STAY PASSED OUT WHAT DO U HAVE WITH HIM AND LET IZUKU HAVE CHARACTER DEVELOPEMENT WITH TENKO

I genuinely have no clue why Max would ever leave to Mercedes, even if RedBull falls apart.

Max, who has been in this sport for nearly 10 years, who joined as a fucking teenager and is already more successful than half the grid.

Max, who is basically already a 4 time WDC.

Max, who might overtake Fangio statistically.

Max, who has made it clear that his passion lies with motorsport overall and that he wants to driver other categories because he is still fucking young! This man ain't even 30 yet and he has already basically secured himself in the top 5 when looking at statistics.

If Max is really questioning staying at RedBull, he will simply just leave after next season on probably the biggest high anyone can imagine.

Hell, he could driver anywhere else for a few years, come back and still be younger than some drivers on the current grid.

Max has nothing to prove. I am not even a fan and I know that he is already in the GOAT discussion.

I also know that Max Verstappen severely clashes with the Mercedes imagine. He promotes his Iracing, he manages teams on there etc. Meanwhile Mercedes as a result of having Lewis and having Lewis push them, has cultivated a culture that is set to promote motorsport for everyone, that has made it a point to explicitly promote various programmes to racing. This is not meant as hate for Max but we know he is a racer at heart and not like Lewis, someone who wants to branch out of F1, go beyond your typical racing imagine. It's why both of them are basically the representation for their individual team.

Max is also currently seeing the whole fuck up that Mercedes did to lose Lewis, a driver who has swore his loyalty to Mercedes again and again. Max can see how Mercedes as a team is struggling, how much effort they are focusing on Kimi (a kid who hasn't even had a full season of F2) to get into F1. Not to mention he knows that George was set out to be Mercedes next big driver. Do you honestly think Max would go into an environment that has so clearly shown how much effort they are putting into rushing their academy driver into F1?

Max would not go to a team that honestly hasn't given him any sign until this season that they would truly want him. Max would not stupidly agree to a team that we have all seen get worse and worse over the season.

If Max leaves RedBull, he leaves F1. There is not a doubt in my mind that Max Verstappen will leave this sport with RedBull. It has never been in question for me.

And to be fair, Max has every right to leave. He is a multiple WDC. He is still in his prime. He is not even 30.

I firmly believe that Max will leave F1 with RedBull and then go on to win in many other racing categories. I don't doubt that he will win Le Mans or be an endurance champion. There are so many different racing categories I see him in before I would ever see him as a Mercedes driver.

And this isn't like Lewis to Ferrari where I also couldn't believe it. Mercedes were struggling, we were all actively seeing how they were failing to meet their drivers need. While I didn't think Lewis would go to Ferrari, his decision to leave Mercedes is still regardless of his future stint the absolute right one. Mercedes is a sinking ship honestly and I truly do not believe they will get back on track the next years. Lewis knew that his only other shot for a WDC would be with another team and he made the smart decision to get out, to fulfill a childhood dream that most drivers have. Lewis leaving Mercedes after their failings was always a when, not an if.

warnings: mean!hongjoong, pirate!hongjoong, reader is trapped in a cell, it stinks, seonghwa doesn't know how to lie(he's precious, okay?)

"soooo, when are you guys planning to let me out? it's getting kind of boring in here."

seonghwa let out another sigh as he reached forward to pass the food he was carrying to the girl trapped in the dark cell.

"when will you stop whining, huh? I know you are not used to the dirty floor and smelly air of a pirate ship but this ain't your castle, little princess. you should've thought about the consequences before sneaking into our ship."

he gently caressed the princess's cheek through the bars. the sound of loud footsteps rang through the stale air startling both the princess and the pirate.

"captain" The guy got on one knee to give respect to the man who he referred to as captain. this intrigued the princess.

she had thought Seonghwa was the captain as he was the one who she saw in the market most often getting supplies for his pirate ship.

the same very ship y/n tried to sneak into. the same ship which held the dark cell she was currently sitting in.

"You may rise, Seonghwa." the man who was apparently the 'captain' ordered.

"I was going over the updates with yeosang and it came to my notice that a certain royal brat has decided to join us. quite a shock, I admit."

the tone 'captain' used annoyed y/n a lot. it was as if he was mocking her. belittling her. looking down on her. it reminded her of the people she was running from. it reminded her of her family.

"aww, how sweet of you. oh I must be such a lucky woman, to be graced by the presence of the captain himself! I must've done some really good deeds in my past lives to recieve such an honor!"

Seonghwa stood there awkwardly as he watched the princess he had seen grow from a kid to a young woman and his best friend who was also the captain glare daggers at each other.

He cleared his throat loudly and decided it was best if he introduced the two to diffue the tension a bit.

his voice raised an octave as he kept walking towards her cell with every word he spoke. he looked at her, straight in the eyes, before grabbing her by the jaw.

the comment managed to make both the girl and Seonghwa share a worried look. none of them could figure out how hongjoong knew about their past together.

seonghwa and y/n knew each other ever since they were kids. he was the son of the kingdom's best warrior.

his father often brought him to the royal court during meetings where the king discussed about the shortcomings with his army while young seonghwa and y/n played dolls together.

things remained the same until they reached their teenage when both started seeing each other as something more than playmates.

their forbidden romance had been a secret from all. carefully hidden between the sheets of her bed in the castle and the cliff they claimed as their spot.

it wasn't until seonghwa left his home to become a pirate that the two lovers separated. he knew the path he chose came with sacrifices and leaving her behind was one of them.

so with teary eyes and one last kiss, he bid her a goodbye and went on to become a pirate. the eyes which once were always on each other now fleetingly met during his trips to the market.

the fire hadn't been completely extinguished but it wasn't that strong either. their story was one forbidden love and silent pain. it was a story hidden well from the whole world.

it was a shock to both the past lovers how someone knew about them when they had hidden it so well.

"i-i'm not sure what you are trying to imply captain but I assure you that whatever you are thinking is incorrect."

y/n physically cringed when seonghwa's breaking voice and lack of eye contact gave them away. he hadn't changed at all.

his inability to lie was one of the traits that y/n adored but now it will be the same trait that will have them walking the plank.

"tch, you should know better than to lie to me Park. you know I don't take dishonesty lightly. as for you, little bird, don't look so glum. I'm not going to do anything to you or your little lover. Scatter-brained...

I just got back from a quick, unexpected trip home for a funeral. It put a serious dent in my savings, what was a tickle in my throat became a full-blown cold while traveling, and although it wasn't a happy occasion, I can honestly say I'm really glad I went. I got to love up on my family, comfort my mom, and be on the receiving end of some much-needed hugs (I told them folks I was sick, but they insisted anyway).

While talking with my younger cousin over the weekend and being introduced to more of her family, she kept introducing me as a cousin she's missed and was really glad to see. She brought up instances when I looked out or took her out to eat or helped her out when she was in school or after she'd given birth to her daughter, and it made me feel so happy and appreciated. I did it because I'm big cousin and that's lil cousin. I wasn't thinking anything of it at the time, but it absolutely warmed my heart that spending time with me meant so much to her, especially since I've been gone almost 3 years at this point.

The way my people are showing up for me in my time of grief has left me speechless on more than one occasion. I feel so seen and cared for. The fact that they're looking for ways to comfort me without me even asking really has my acts-of-service-loving ass on the verge of tears.

My roommate's dog has accidents when she's out working on the weekends and the other day I told her he went in the living room again and that it was too much. She either needs to train him to go on puppy pads or hire somebody to walk him. Since before she got him, I've been very clear about it being her dog and her responsibility. The response I got was, "well I'll clean it when I get home since you won't" and her basically calling me part of the problem because I meant what I said when I told her I'm not cleaning up after a dog that's not mine. What do you think that is, what are the tell tell signs he should have picked upon, how did his media team train him to pick up on this signs, what are other famous examples of media training etc etc… Because it feels like you and I have a very set idea of how this works and before I reply and assume stuff, it would be great if you could clarify.

I never liked Jayce, or Elliot, and especially thotimas prime of the jungle. I felt like they all tried to form Hope into their vision of what they thought she should be to fit their warped minds. I see bits and pieces of Jayce moving away from that and I love it but I still can’t get jiggy with it. Please y’all don’t hate me too much for it, I tolerate Jayce but I just don’t see him bringing out Hope’s full potential🤷🏽‍♀️ I do see him helping her heal past what has happened to her and now them. One things for sure Jayce is the only one out of all that truly loves Hope for who she is, I just don’t like him much

I would say he brought out her full potential the evening he cleared up that confusion for her and sent her Black ass to the ancestors.

Jay has encouraged her to use her words on multiple occassions because she is hard on herself and sometimes insecure. He was a big supporter of her dream of living under the mountain and stayed her supporter when that didn't work out after graduation. I would even argue that he really doesn't need to do much, Hope has already reached her full potential. She has a brilliant mind which has led to excellence in academics and her career. Not to mention she's a gifted athlete who wants to give back to little girls who can't swim.

Hope needs a man who will compliment that AND provide her with the love she desperately wanted as a teen (the reason she ran away), AND reassure her and lift her up. I have seen Jay do nothing less. Elliot (RIP) was incapable and Kenji only wanted to fuck.

So nonny this has to be just something personal between you and the character. Its okay to "just not like him much" as you say, but you haven't really given solids as to why he and Hope aren't good for each other.

You're probably not alone, other people may not like Jay either, but you're gonna have to come harder if you want us to think about this ship not shipping because this ain't it.... is all I'm sayin.

1. The character everyone gets wrong.

First character that quickly came to mind is Izuku Midoriya. I'm sorry, but some of the things I have seen some people say about him SUCKS.

"He's such a crybaby." You bet not be a fan of any Shonen protagonist or a side character you think is ever because more than once they have cried their ass off, too. The crying gag ain't nothing new, so stop.

"He's too nice."

This is the same kid is willing to punch the shit out of people. Hell, most of the time, he's just sick of the bullshit going around him.

Other than Midoriya, Present Mic also comes to mind. I'm sorry, he's not dumb, irresponsible or even all that silly. He can be a goof, but it's along the lines of "I'm an outgoing person". Same man who correctly states that there had to be a traitor at UA. Same man who teaches an English class, has to do announcements, runs a radio show...

6. Which ship fans are the most annoying?

Not more so the ship, but the people that annoys me. Like a person can also like the same ship as me, but it doesn't stop me from being annoyed by them if they do something. Example, I will never understand the whole "top/bottom" thing and the top gotta be the provider and the bottom does chores and whatnot.

Oh, what, the top in the bedroom can't be the one to do the household chores and the bottom is the provider?

I think the "top/bottom" thing should just be for takes in the bedroom and not determine the household roles. I have more to say but I don't want to drag this out longer or bore anyone today.

9. Worst part of canon.

Okay, for JJK, there's only three things I'm iffy about so far but not really and this could change, you never know. SPOILERS AHEAD.

One is Yuji and Kenjaku not having more interactions since Shibuya. Kenjaku may truly be dead and that would suck because I wished for just one more interaction between those two.

Two is Nobara not having been in the story since Shibuya. Now I know it's believed she is dead, but until the manga is over I ain't believing it. Hell, I hope she makes a return before Gojo (possibly) does. She deserves to kick some more ass.

The third is Uro. I miss her so much and I just think she deserves to return to and kick ass. I'll be honest, I adore Yuta but I did not care to see him use her technique. I didn't. I hated that the ending of the Uro v. Ryu v. Yuta fight. The latter two talk about Uro while she's offscreen knocked out somewhere. Call me petty but I was glad to see Ryu got killed.

25. Common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing.

BONES, don't release any more trailers for season 7 because some of the fandom acts as if the blue sky is the worst thing in the world as if it hadn't been a thing since season 1 or that maybe it's ironic that the worst things happen when the sky is clear (I have had bad days when the weather is beautiful, it makes me feel worse because it's like 'I should have a good day'). Or that if one pays attention to the trailer, the sky does change color. The blue sky ain't permanent.
