My week started off with a touch of a cold, but thankfully hasn't developed into the flu or anything. One of the things I really can't stand most, is that feeling of being all bunged up in your face - bleurgh. Just no thank you ✋🏻

Otherwise, it's been all systems go as usual on the Jett plane. ✈️ Busy with work, busy with friends and busy with writing! 🥵

Mystery Strain - @rebel-held I really enjoyed this alternative take on a sex pollen troupe from Rebel's Kinktober prompts, and may now also have a thing for Dieter's big, soft belly after reading this. 🤭

For You I Would Ruin Myself - @thelightsandtheroses Sticking with Dieter, this was a great emotionally charged story, and I love how Dieter was written in this. As much as I love reading smut (who doesn't?), I also really love stories where you are pulled into the inner workings of a character's emotions and thoughts, and sex isn't the main plot point, and this story really impressed me by doing that. Deffo recommend. 👍🏻

Behind Closed Doors - @sweetenerobert Where do I even start?! This was just utterly delicious and debauched. I had so much vivid imagery in my head reading this that a cold shower was needed afterwards, let me tell you. This was such a super hot read and I am so here for it! 🥵

Private & Confidential - @sin-djarin Becca has created the start of something truly wonderful here, I just know it. My Agent Pike senses are tingling to see where this story goes. You should totally check it out too. 🖤

50 - @linzels-blog This was a fic I really enjoyed this week, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for non-age gap fics specifically. It was utterly wonderful and features our favourite pilot, Frankie. 😍

In Another Life - @chronically-ghosted This beautiful Frankie story moved me. The way Taylor writes moves me. I am still thinking about this story and will read it over again. I urge you too also. You're really missing out on something utterly spectacular if you don't. 🖤

I Might Kill My Ex - @beskarandblasters This was such a fun, twisted little tale inspired by the song by Sza, about Joel, and I loved every second of this. It was super hot, and I really liked all the twisty turns this took me through. Deffo a must read. ☝🏻

☆ What have I been watching/listening to this week?

🎃 As it's spooky season, I watched a couple of horror films this week.

I rewatched Evil Dead Rise. I am a lover of the original films with Bruce 'The Chin' Campbell, but the remakes are quite good, particularly this one, I thought. I'm partial to a good horror film and it's been a while since I watched one that made me cringe and recoil at the gore. (The cheese grater scene, if you know, you know! 😬🫣)

Also rewatched both Scream and 30 Days Of Night this week too. Classics, IMO. 👍🏻

I'm looking forward to watching Talk To Me when that comes out on streaming too. The trailer looked fab.

I just love Ronnie Radke's version of this Papa Roach original! I imagine it playing to the backdrop of an epic sex scene in a movie or something...

☆ What have I been up to this week?

Aside from the usual humdrum of work, I went on another short hike yesterday. Always good to get out and stretch the ol' legs.

A very good friend of mine cooked me a wonderful meal this week too when I visited them for a catch up. If you feed me, you can guarantee I will absolutely be your friend forever. 😀

Minerica Eorzea — maintained by @wildfireward, this Compendium was inspired by the Botanica Eorzea and serves as her counterpart. It contains item descriptions of raw materials, item descriptions of gear that use said materials, stats of gear that use said materials, leve quest lore, and crafter quest dialogue.

MISC

Animations for XIV — A spreadsheet created and maintained by Sayo#0196 that contains a list of animations that can be useful for posing purposes.

Transparent Assets for GPOSE — Have you ever wanted to overlay a screenshot with XIV’s assets like ‘this scene cannot be skipped’? @fortunafavore has you covered!

CHANGELOG

For some reason, the text for the Hingan Alphabet had vanished on its bigger advertisement. It has since been readded! (Don't ask me why it did it, I have no idea.)

COMMUNITIES

With the Tumblr communities in beta, I'm trying to think how to best incorporate them into the Compendium should we get an influx of XIV related ones when the feature goes properly live. While they're currently invite only I won't be adding any (unless community leaders would like to reach out and have them added) but, once they are, I'll either make a separate section in the Compendium for them or sort them between the aforementioned categories as needed. If you have any thoughts, questions or suggestions, please let me know!

Do keep in mind that the feature is in beta, so my thought and categorisations may change as the community feature itself expands. Tumblr may also incorporate a better method of searching/filtering that might make it redundant! We'll have to see.

I want to put my community on the compendium but we have an application process. Is this okay?

Yes! Just note somewhere in your application that's a requirement. The only thing that is mandatory for the Compendium is that you must be open to new members or have a public-facing/accessible facet. There's no point advertising a community if no one can join it in some way!

Also totally okay! People don't start with large communities. Activity is a must but, whether your server has two or two thousand members, if you're looking for new people to join, I'd love to help you find people.

I want to put my community on the compendium but I worry its too niche?

Okay, and? If your Eorzean Fishing Alliance has four members but you roleplay every second weekend, I still want to know about it.

What resources/communities can I add if I'm not the owner of them?

Mutual consent is extremely important to me, so anything that isn't a large-scale community OR a publicly accessible resource must be endorsed by the owner/admin/moderators in order to be added to the compendium. I operate under the assumption that a resource posted to a public space (tumblr, googledocs, youtube, etc) is open to all. A large-scale community is one with a significant member count or openly advertises itself as being accessible to everyone for whatever purpose it serves. If in doubt, please get in touch with me. I'm happy to contact your community owners for you!

How active does a community need to be?

If you find a community has not been active in about two/three months, send me a message and I'll take a look at it. Communities have ebbs and flows, especially event spaces that may take hiatuses depending on member interest/life events. I'm not strict in my implementation provided a space isn't dead. If a link or anything is broken, absolutely contact me about that.

What is your process for a longer fic? How do you format your outline? What does your research look like if you need to do that?

tats you can have a little Talk Shop Tuesday as a treat!

so i briefly touched on my process (god i need a new way to phrase that it sounds so wanky) in this ask here where i admitted to kind of flying by the seat of my trousers/pants with writing ("live by the PWP sword, die by the PWP sword i guess" is probably one of my favourite sentences i've ever written).

but i'll expand further under the cut because i know i'm going to get long winded as hell.

firstly, i'm going to admit something slightly embarrassing. i'm not a planner, or a plotter, or a think further than the scene i'm writing writer. i'm just not. i write entirely on vibes or wherever the worms take me. i think that's pretty evident from the fact that most of my fics/drabbles for the fandom are shorter than my left leg. i consider it to be a minor miracle if i break 500 words, never mind 1000 words for my fics.

secondly, maybe mummies is my most rigidly outlined fic ever. i have a super rough outline for my festival fic (remember that? god those were the days) and for my bbc ghosts inspired thing (again, another blast from the past right there) but maybe mummies is the biggest document i have in my WIP folder right now and i'll use that as my example for my outlining process (and hopefully i won't spoil the fic too much).

What is your process for a longer fic? i always start every single one of my fics by dumping a synopsis of what i want the fic to be at the top of my document. first of all, it scares away the Fear of the Dreaded Blank Page (where The Blinking Cursor of Doom lingers), secondly it pulls me back on track when i start getting lost in the weeds as i always get lost in the weeds to some degree. thirdly, it's kind of silly and mostly vibes. i basically just talk to myself in the blurb and at some point that may translate to an author's note but sometimes it doesn't.

then i move onto notable tags i know i need to include. so that would be the general vibe of the fic ("Inspired by The Mummy (1999)"), the genre ("Action/Adventure", "Romance", "Comedy"), or notable triggers ("Bugs/Beetles", "Implied PTSD", "Implied Alcoholism"). the notable tag section is subject to change as i write but as soon as i pop something in my fic that i know could potentially trigger someone or make someone balk at bit at reading it, i update the tag list. as i work through the sections/scenes of my fic i list the tags/triggers that apply to that section and mark them with a star and match that star up to the notable tag section.

for maybe mummies, i started writing it chronologically while on my third(?) rewatch of The Mummy. i spat out the blurb during my first watch because the brain worms took me gently by my throat and calmly threatened me at knife point (no, i don't know where they got the knife either and at this point i'm too afraid to ask). then i yelled at @391780 over having an idea as i usually do and early enabled me like the Chief Worm Wrangler they are.

then i got bored of writing it chronologically on my fifth rewatch after blocking most of act 1 and act 2, so i went to the last scene of the fic, blocked that out with bullet points (and made myself laugh) before deciding that actually, an epilogue would really tie everything up wonderfully. so then i spat out the epilogue (and very shyly asked @syoddeye if the emotional beats hit right and they were kind enough to go "i love [this metaphor] and [this interaction]" which basically cemented the epilogue for me. so if you hate it, don't you dare blame sy, i'll come for your kneecaps with my makita drill if you do).

aside from that, i block everything roughly using bullet points. sometimes that's a badly worded sentence, sometimes that's a particular dialogue exchange that fits, sometimes thats just [JP and F!RC bicker] (anything in parentheses gets filled with more detail in at a later date), sometimes the worms wriggle and i spit out an entire scene.

if i'm struggling to write a scene i tend to either leave myself bullet points or break the scene into smaller chunks. it helps my brain to focus on the parts i want it to write better that way and it takes the pressure off so i don't get stuck in the mire of "oh god this needs to be the most perfect first draft that has ever existed".

How do you format your outline? so my heavily redacted outline for maybe mummies looks something like this:

Blurb (stream of consciousness babble/vibes/silliness)

Title (currently blank)

Notable Tags (all the current tags/triggers, and there are 23 currently!)

Characters notes - John "Johnny" MacTavish - Female! Reader Character (RC) - Captain John Price - Simon "The Ghost/Ghost" Riley - Kyle Garrick - Philip Graves (then some redacted characters)

Act One (the set up) - Scene 1 - Scene 2 - Scene 3 - Scene 4

Act Two (the rising action) - Scene 1, part a - Scene 1, part b - Scene 1, part c. (etc, etc. you get the idea)

Act Three (the crisis) (see act two and three for how that would look)

Act Four (the resolution) (heavily redacted bits go here) - Final Scene

Epilogue (this i have written out in full, but i can't share it with you because of spoilers).

Odds and Ends (this is where chunks of dialogue i want to add into the fic, or interactions i want to go live until they find a place in the fic. it's also where the parts i've "scrapped" go too. i never delete anything from my outline, it just gets moved to the odds and ends section).

What does your research look like if you need to do that? oooooh boy. okay, another embarrassing admission coming up. my research for maybe mummies has been my nigh on continuous rewatching of The Mummy. i'm on 13.5 watches right now (10 before my surgery date, 3 post surgery, and one time i started watching it and fell asleep about half way through while my brain was slowly stewing in the remnants of morphine and codeine). other than that, i've got about 5 or 6 tabs that i've shoved into a folder in firefox dutifully labeled "shit i don't know about 1920s eygpt".

in short, my research is more of a mess than my outline.

hopefully this answers your question and i'm so sorry i made you slog through what is essentially 1.1k of words that may be nonsense.

Hi, I'm interested in organizing my fandom. Can you throw me some templates?

Absolutely yes! Some things have changed in recent weeks, so the top advice we can give you is to be flexible and adapt as you can. The needs of the picketers might change, so keep an eye on the news and the official WGA and SAG-AFTRA channels. Twitter is a good place to follow the union members on strike.

Also, don't feel the need to rush: there is plenty of time to build up a good foundation by talking to people in your fandom and testing the waters to see what people are prepared to do. Some fandoms just have more financial capability than others for whatever demographic reasons, or have more pro-union sentiment in the community. While you can't push anyone to do anything they're unwilling to do, you can find out what's possible and encourage interested people to get involved.

The next best advice we can give you is that this will require logistical skills; therefore, if possible, collect a small moderator team of trusted, responsible fandom friends with organization skills so it's not just you going at it alone. 3 people is probably adequate to start with, more if your organization expands.

I do recommend fandom organizers be at least somewhat active on both Twitter and Tumblr. That way, you can size up the big fandom accounts and figure out the best way to get the word out to your fandom on both sites. (If you have a mod team, you could even just have one person be your official Twitter liaison.)

Here are 3 methods to organize your fandom, and this applies to any fandom, so feel free to share this to whatever fandom group you want to get organized. Pick whichever method seems most feasible for your fandom, and go for it!

Method 1: Mod team assigns volunteers to shifts

Pros: very grassroots and non-hierarchical, can lead to the most consistent fandom support across time

Con: hardest to wrangle, and potentially more difficult for the shift-by-shift volunteers especially if individuals are difficult to reach online

Examples: The Star Trek Snack Squad, the OFMD Snackery

Claire Willett @/clairewillett on Twitter started the Star Trek Snack Squad back in the early days of the strike to get Star Trek fans organized. That's still a solid template to use, but will definitely require modifications. Link here (please make a copy to your own Google account/a throwaway if you'll be making it public and want to protect your identity)

How it works:

-You, the moderator, pick a specific picket location (all locations listed here) to target for delivery. (Since Stranger Things is a Netflix show, targeting Netflix makes sense; however, Netflix is already a very popular target location so maybe the other locations could use some love? I'll leave that to your discretion!)

-Moderators put out a call for volunteers. Make graphics, create a hashtag or catchy name, and get it boosted across the fandom as much as possible. Volunteers will then sign up (via an ask or a Google form, up to you—just make sure you keep track of who's volunteered and their Tumblr or Twitter username that must be open to DMs so people can talk to other people in their group.)

-Moderators organize 3-5 volunteers to a shift (morning or afternoon) on a specific date. It is then up to these volunteers to get talking and for one member to place a DoorDash/UberEats snacks/drinks order for delivery to the picket lines by pooling whatever money they can via Venmo or Paypal (the only international option). From $5 to $50, anything helps: it could be a case of Lacroix, it could be a whole meal for picketers. More instructions and ideas in the template.

-The template can be updated with new shifts until you run out of volunteers.

-If this method is a little overwhelming, fear not, there are other options!

Method 2: Single fundraiser on GoFundMe or PayPal Pools

Pros: Single place for money to go, very easy to set up and organize

Cons: Runs out of steam the fastest as a large monetary goal can seem daunting; money all goes to one place so there has to be a lot of transparency from the fundraiser.

Examples: Julie and the Phantoms hot dogs fundraiser, Lord of the Rings second breakfast (from SAG-AFTRA member Chelsea Schwartz's Ko-Fi); Our Flag Means Strike Paypal pool.

This is your basic fundraiser, which means the mods will have to decide how exactly the money will be used and how to have as much transparency as possible. Sometimes you're fundraising for a specific goal (taco truck at Amazon Studios, for instance). Sometimes you're pooling money to give to the Entertainment Community Fund. If you're looking for food truck options and don't know where to start, you can always reach out to people who have done the OFMD pooling here! From what I've seen, a food truck will generally cost around $3000 for a day, so plan accordingly.

[One possible fundraiser I haven't seen but would love to see is fandoms giving support to the Green Envelope Grocery Fund, which gives out $100 to people affected by the strikes specifically for groceries! So that's definitely an option as well.]

Method 3: Fandom auction for donations

If you're in a fandom that has any big-name writers/artists willing to chip in, you could organize an auction for commissions, with the proceeds going to the Entertainment Community Fund, the Green Envelope Grocery Fund or another WGA/SAG-AFTRA-related fund. As with the above, you'd need to be transparent as to where the money is going.

A final note: Organizing any kind of action from scratch is hard, but thankfully people have walked this road before. You can always contact us, or the people at any of the above linked groups, with questions or advice.

It may also be helpful to remember that lots of people have done this before successfully. During the 2007-08 writers strike, the Battlestar Galactica and Whedonverse fandoms were instrumental in showing fan support for the WGA strike. (More on that here!)

Since I remember, I had a fascination for people who speaks more than one language, I think every language is beautiful in their own way and knowing you can access to feelings, emotions and ideas of other people in the world motivates me to learn to speak other languages.

I'm from Mexico 🇲🇽, so Spanish is my native language. Currently, I'm acquaring 🇺🇸 English, 🇵🇹 Portuguese and 🇰🇷 Korean. For this reason, I'll be focusing on these languages, but I plan to add more in the future (my wish list is quite long), so stay updated.

Right now English is the language that I’m more fluent to, but eventually when I get better, I’m going to expand the posts in full Portuguese and Korean.

Something that I like about Tumblr is that you can add a lot of formats: text, audios, videos, links, etc., so the posts will be very dynamic. Something that you’re going to see in my entries are some of my journal pages, like this one:

As the name of this section suggests, I've started a little journal to track my progress and practice my handwriting. I use a website that provides random topics, I simply visit the site, click the button, and start writing about the topic it gives me. This helps me be more spontaneous and think in the language as if I were conversing with someone. This especially helps me with English and Portuguese right now. For Korean, I choose to simply transcribe a song or a paragraph from a book since I'm still a beginner.

hello hello!!!! my names rae and i'm open for business for fanfics!! I'm sort of experienced in writing, having written fanfictions in the past and also dabbled in a bit of semi-lit roleplay. i mostly do total drama but may expand to other fandom's as I get more comfortable!

LIGHT NOVEL

✓ Genius of a Performing Arts High [ch104] Hiatus.

Summary: After 10 years of dedicating his life to opera ever since he had quit the performing arts high school, he had failed at an interview. Losing his motivations, Jo Yunjae depended on alcohol to live out his days until one day, he had been sent back 20 years in time, to the day before his high school admission.

The reason for his time travel nor the terrible condition his body was in did not matter to him. The one and only, most important thing was that he could still sing, not as the previous baritone but as a long-coveted tenor.

Oh this one has a lot of musical jargons, but you could learned to ignore some of them or perhaps searched up each meaning. But this one is quite unique considering it focuses upon Opera as a theme, although apparently there’s a harem tag (but the mc isn’t really aware of it, more like he sees the others in a fatherly way of sort). It hasn’t been updated for 2 years and currently it’s status is in Hiatus. There is no Manhwa adaptation for it.

✓ If I Fail to Debut I'll Get A Killer Disease [ch423/505]

Summary: A 4th-year student who was preparing for the Civil Service examination, suddenly found himself in an unfamiliar body 3 years ago. As well as a status window displaying a threat in front of his eyes! [Outbreak!] [Status Abnormality: ‘Debut or Death’ Occurs!]

A diary about the transformation of the main character, who was suddenly challenged to be an idol even though he has never been in the industry before due to sudden threat of death. ※Speciality: He used to take and sell idol’s data.

The translation I’ve found only stopped until there. I’ve been patiently waiting for updates and it has been a month since the last one! The plot has a lot of twist on the classic idol take. Currently there’s a newly Manhwa adaptation for it but it’s only in the early stage of 17 chapters or so. If you would like to check it out, the Manhwa name is a bit different from the novel but the sentiment remains the same “Debut or Die”

✓ Superstars of Tomorrow [ch507] Complete.

As recently stated, this one has been completed. And there is still no manhua adaptation of it to this day. I enjoy this novel thoroughly, the ride was wild and full of humour! Although the journey started through the works of virtual idol, it doesn’t necessarily confined only there because there’s still the fields of music, gaming, acting, history and military arcs that MC would dominate in would also bring such enjoyment!

Indeed… how difficult can it be?

This was an enjoyable ride. I cherished every moment of each chapter I was reading for the entire week. I actually like the concept where they expanded more on the storyline idea of a supposed script for a film or a layout plot for a game because it’s always makes me invested in it and makes me feel like in the shoes of others and what they’re witnessing, the kind of content they’re consuming by the detailed description that I could almost imagine how it would be like. The last couple of chapters makes me so emotional, like this is what it builds up to and the realisation and the decision chosen is just “growth”. There was a manhua adaption of it but it contains rather few chapters from what I’ve heard… I might read it as well as soon as it accumulates more chapters to be read to truly see it all in action, illustrations.

Housekeeping & Blog Updates

Alright, so if you couldn't tell, a couple of things changed on my page and now there are some new links.

I added an ABOUT ME link in my pinned post in case anyone wanted some more additional context about me, my interests, and all that jazz. Plus, there's some 3 fun facts towards the bottom so that's a cool addition!

The biggest one: I changed some of my BLOG GUIDELINES around regarding kinks I'm willing to write and added a DARK CONTENT EXCEPTIONS category under the "I Will Write" section. I felt that considering some of my tastes are changing, I should update what I am willing to write depending on the context versus absolute hard no's. I'd advise rereading the guidelines of my blog as a refresher as I plan on expanding my writing. (don't be weird about this please).

I added a DAILY CLICKS link to help Palestinians in need for advocacy. Would appreciate those who are willing to give one second of their time and one click for a free Palestine! 🇵🇸

I have two masterlists currently, one specifically for Resident Evil which I've condensed, and another for other characters that I will add on to over time. If the second masterlist gets long enough, I'll make a separate post with both of the prior masterlists linked, that way they can be found all at once. For now, they're separated as two links in my pinned post next to my AO3 link.

Also wanted to note that I will be planning to write for other characters if that wasn't obvious already. That doesn't mean that I've fully stopped writing for Leon all together, I still love and cherish him and he is my #1 forever and always. I simply want to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone by writing for characters I am not familiar with but have always wanted to write for. This is a multifandom page after all, I'm merely human and my interests are allowed to change from time to time. Hey I hope it's okay to ask you this but do you have any advice for writing quickly? You always seem to update your fics fast.

Sorry this has been sitting in my inbox for a while ;0; ironically defeating the purpose of your question lol.

I'll see if I can explain it to the best of my ability.

The most helpful thing to me by far has been incorporating writing into my daily routine. It has gotten to the point where I feel weird if I go to bed without writing. That's just a matter of perseverance. If you use Discord, the bot Sprinto has been incredibly helpful. Even if you're not in a Discord group with a lot of people, it can still help you a lot. I have Sprinto in my personal server and just being able to block out set chunks of time to write can be all I need.

But here's some more advice. Idk how universal this will be, so I'm just going to detail my process.

I used to over-plan as a writer. As in, I would plot out every trivial detail before I ever started writing. This was just a fancy form of procrastination.

This is part of my proto-outlines from 2013 (this would later be expanded into another outline). Not only would i plan out each story beat, but I would color coordinate the scenes based on what the main character was feeling during them. Maybe this method works for someone, but personally I found that it just prevented me from writing. It also tended to push me into a corner. As in "my character has grown and evolved since my outline, but my notes say they feel sad in this scene so...." It can lead to inconsistent characterization.

What has worked for me recently is to keep my plans as rough notes at first, and only write a formal outline once I'm deep in the story and it's too big for me to keep track of without a road map.

Here's my outline for one of my Metalocalypse fanfics.

My columns are "chapter, date chapter takes place during, ages of main characters, key moments". I also use a spreadsheet so I can easily add/delete chapters. I only make spreadsheets like this for fics that are so long that I need to keep track of the story. I also only include the dates if the time frame is relevant. Don't let yourself get bogged down in too much detail. Also you don't need to list everything that happens.

This is literally the only plot point I have in my current fic chapter:

That's it. That's all I have to go off of. But I'm currently 2722 words into this chapter and I'm still not done. Give yourself all the information you need to remember where the story is going, but still give yourself room to play with. Again, I only make these outlines once I feel grounded in the story I'm writing. Basically, treat your outlines like a map -- not a gps. As long as you know where the major roads are and where the destination is, you don't always need to plan out each turn.

That's the biggest piece of advice I have. Plan your stories out, but don't let your plan overpower your writing. Remember why you're actually writing in the first place. Having an end goal is the number one thing that keeps me motivated to keep working on a story.

And here's some general unorganized advice.

Find a reliable place to keep all of the writing ideas that plop into your head. Sometimes I get ideas for dialogue exchanges 20 chapters from now, but I know I won't remember them when I get to that point. Personally, I have a separate channel in my personal discord for out of context writing stuff, but even just a notebook will work.

Go out and experience life, and think about how you'd write it. I'm not just talking about major life events. The mundane details of your life can provide so much ammunition. Even if you're not physically writing, just the act of noticing things can really strengthen that muscle. Practice noticing senses you don't usually incorporate into your writing. What does the food you eat feel like in your mouth? What goes through your mind when you walk down the street? Really dig into everything you feel. Were you bummed that your favorite restaurant closed down? That might feel small, but if you take that feeling and expand on it, you can use it to express your own characters' sadness. Notice the world around you. View every experience as a potential piece of writing. You can easily milk 2 paragraphs out of that.

Your rough draft doesn't have to include every detail. If your first draft simply says "he felt sad", that's fine. "He felt sad" is three more words than you would have had in your wip if you didn't write that day. As time goes on, you can expand that sentence into exploring the nuances of how that character experiences sadness at that specific moment. Boom, 2 more paragraphs.

Think about which projects you want to see to completion. If you're only working on a story because it's popular or because you think you have to, it's going to feel like a slog. Now, I've definitely stuck with some fics even though certain plot points felt slow, but I continued writing because I was excited for what came after.

Reread your stuff. Not only is this useful for continuity, but it can be a great motivator.

If you find yourself struggling with a wip in a way that can't be excused to just writer's block, delete the last few sentences and see how it goes.

If you're feeling especially inspired, stop mid-thought/sentence before you end for the day. That way, if you're not feeling as motivated the next day, you can easily finish the thought and sometimes that's all you need to get the juices flowing again.

I hope I can make my advice more useful and specific than "just practice lol", but that's really the best advice I could give. I have slow writing days too. Lately, I'm lucky if I can get 200 words out of me. I've been really stressed lately so my daily word count has taken a hit. But the amount of words you write doesn't matter as long as you're consistent. It's a muscle. And like working out, doing reps with 5 pound weights is much better than forcing yourself to do 100 pounds and hurting yourself in the process. Just write a sentence. Just write a word. Maybe that's all you need.

I don't have many rules bc honestly, this blog is both a joke and a safe space. but the most important rules that I implement are :

the anonymous function is there to accommodate those who want to interact but don't want to reveal themselves or don't have their own account so they borrowed someone else's account and just do not want to out themselves. so, if you have any complaints, comments, critiques, writing suggestions or even straight up hate comments, do it to me off anon or else that's you giving me your consent to absolutely obliterate the fuck out of you and I'm not even kidding when i say i can be SO MEAN when i want to be

that being said, if you do have genuine questions or confusion or even want me to elaborate on some things, do consider the words you use and their connotations. there's a difference between "i don't think this makes sense" and "i don't quite understand this, what does this part means?" or "you're offensive" and "i feel like the word you use is rather insensitive" and I would GLADLY make a 2 page essay to explain my thought process because i know that sometimes the things i say can rub some people the wrong way even though i don't mean it. but for the sake of the shit i wrote like to imitate real conversations between characters esp in terms of like how close and comfortable they are with each other (the kind of relationship hey have), I'm risking myself offending some of you but that's why i am beyond willing to explain myself if y'all ask bc let's be honest, i can't post an explanation after EVERY post when no one is complaining.

tone indicators (/j, /hj, /gen, /affectionate) are never wrong esp if you and i haven't established a relationship bc there are some anons and some blogs that i interact with a lot and we are aware of our relationship alr

a. it depends. i'm still struggling to label certain stuff ??? like i'm still familiarizing myself to the concept of CNC and kinkier stuffs and I'm still expanding my knowledge. that being said, i draw the line on the sexualization of : rape, incest, drugging, bestiality, (and more to be added bc ngl i can't think of anything else rn so I'll get back to you on that)

important - length may vary, if my mind decides that i'm gonna blast 1k words on something it will.

i'm mainly an original works blog - so feel completely free to send in your ideas and i'll see what i can cook up concerning them.

i only write - sub male, sub male yandere, if you want a specific reader gender feel free to include it in your request, otherwise they will be gender neutral. For some characters I will also write a more dominant role if i feel up to it.

but i'm also open for fandom requests as well - i also write for other fandoms on another platform so i am comfortable tackling certain fandoms.

there are some things i won't be comfortable writing - if anything i feel uncomfortable writing appears in my inbox i will delete it. as a little suggestion i won't write anything that is overly non-consensual, too gory, abusive, incestuous or generally gross. this list may be updated from time to time as i come across any more examples

Story wip list

I'm going to go see Ticket to paradise later, which is an inspiration for a story idea I had. So, I've decided to do a small list about my story plan.

I get a kick out of you

The Iceman story I'm working on, as many of you know. This is my main focus. This will get updated the most at the weekends until it's finished.

After this story is complete, I'll move onto all the oneshot ideas I've had for this HITC universe. Lots of moments based around your life with Ice. You're also more than welcome to suggest some.

The Cyclone fic. Funny little idea I had that I'm expanding on. There is going to be plot, as it goes on. This will probably turn into something really cute and probably sexy 😏

This will be a Rooster x Reader fic that I'm planning to write after the Iceman fic. This plot was inspired by Ticket to paradise, when I first saw the trailer. Rooster and reader are getting married and Ice and Mav are invited. The pair play cupid to get these two pilots together before their big day.

Mark: Oh, thank goodness. Oh, thank you, God or, or god's or godesses or Mighty Turtle, Lord of Earth, or whatever! Just thank you. Listen to this:

News Reporter: Breaking local news, just in. Seven days ago, a young woman was abducted and sadly, authorities were not hopeful as an initial search came up with little to speak about.

The local search was expanded yesterday morning, province-wide, with the help and coordination of both provincial bodies as well as the RCMP in an attempt to build leads in a case where there seemed to be none. Jesse Sygard, who who was allegedly kidnapped and brought daylight with no witnesses to the event had been found alive.

First responders commented stating her condition was stable, but the exact plight of her capture is yet unknown. Local authorities stumbled upon her in Breyer Park seeming dazed and confused. From there, she was rushed to hospital due to suspected dehydration. We will update as more news comes in regarding a case that has grip the community in a state of fear for nearly a week.

Cole: D, my name was on the list. The letter was to me. I'm, I, I'm not trying to be self-centered here, but-

D: You're an absolute dweeb, who cares if your name was on the list? Who cares if the letter was just to you? When someone threatens you, they threaten us. It, it could have very well been me or or Mark whose name was on that list as well. I mean, would you have blamed either one of us?

Cole: Well, hold on.

D: No, no, I'm not holding on for squat here cuz frankly you've got nothing to say that I don't know on the topic and a lot better than you.

Whatever skewed version you have of yourself in your head where you're like the main character of every story, let it go. Yeah, I know in a lot of those stories you cooked up and the versions of the events, you're the bad guy too. And I'm sure you're not the best person in the world all the time. Just let us beat you up, huh?

D: All I wanna know right now, Cole, is, what are we gonna do about it?

Cole: Do, what are we gonna do about it? I, I don't know what the hell we can do about it.

D: They took Jess, Cole, and I wanna nail those suckers to the wall for it.

D: What the listener will hear? Oh Lord. No. Not the listener. Yeah, I know they'll hear me and I've got a story to tell them just so they know how much they piss me off.

D: My grandmother used to get me those plastic princess heels, the ones that come in packs of two or three different pairs. They're all clear plastic with a pink or blue hue and sparkles throughout, like something a four year old would imagine a princess would wear. Christmas, birthdays, she'd always make sure I had my princess heels and, and to be fair, I used to love them.

I'd put on my prettiest gown, which was usually a ratty old night dress with stars or unicorns. And slip my tiny little feet into those sticky, clear plastic princess heels with the sparkles, and I'd walk about the house imagining I was Rapunzel, or pretend I was asleep on the couch like Sleeping Beauty or Snow White.

I used to love getting those heels because my grandmother would giggle so hard, she'd cover her mouth and make little snorts as the tears streamed down her eyes when I put them on and clip-clopped about the house, shuffling my feet to keep them on in, flicked my hair with every ounce of drama I could muster, and declare that I must have chocolate milk with my lunch.

That was me at three and four and five and six years old. I, I used to love the girly things because my mom and my grandma loved the girly things, and I loved the giggles and smiles and pictures they'd take and all the wonderful things they'd say to me when I used to parade about like that.

By the time I entered primary school though, I felt a little different about the princess heels. And soon I felt a little different about my long hair and my painted nails too, so piece by piece I changed them, cuz they didn't feel right anymore. They didn't feel comfortable. So I cut my hair and trimmed my nails and rubbed them with acetone until all the pink chipped nail polish was gone.

It's funny looking back, you know. I got really lucky. I was lucky my mom never really made a fuss about it. It went from her rushing home from a sale at Zellers with a hot pink backpack to her rushing home from a sale at Zellers with a pair of knockoff converse and a crisp flannel shirt. She never missed a beat.

It was the same excitement either way for her. Same with my grandma too, princess heels to cap guns, and a plastic sheriff badge, and she barely blinked. And she still giggled watching from the window as I played cops and robbers with you two idiots in the cul-de-sac.

Not everyone's that lucky. Most people aren't, but I was.

No- no matter how lucky I was though, it didn't change the fact that I was different. Different wasn't bad, not for me, but it can be lonely. Jess and I met years ago at Bible Camp. During that one summer, my parents thought maybe having a little Jesus in the house would be a good thing. Yeah. We must have been the only two people at camp who argued over who would have the bottom bunk.

I wanted it, because I was paranoid of stepping outta bed, half asleep to use the washroom and falling five feet to the ground. She wanted it because it was near the only outlet where she could plug in her nightlight. Eventually, a counselor got involved and settled the fight, putting Jess in the bottom bunk because she said she was afraid of the dark.

But she wasn't afraid of the dark. She just wanted to stay up late reading her books. It pissed me off, but it was cute. She was cute. We didn't talk much after our yelling match on the first day, and I didn't really think there was anything between us. Jesse left a day early from Bible camp. Her mom got sick and her dad wanted her closer to home.

I'd spent the entirety of Sleepaway camp giving her dirty looks and ignoring her, but I was sad to see her go, like my chance to turn things around was gone? I didn't really know what I could've done or how I would've done it, but I felt like I lost something when she left. You guys might not get it, but no one was talking about non-binary identities or being queer at that time, especially not a couple of people at Bible Camp.

It's weird when you don't have the words to describe something like how I felt about Jesse the first time I saw her. If I was being honest. I didn't really care about the bottom bunk. I just wanted her attention, but I also didn't know how I felt because I didn't know how I was supposed to feel, and that's where my loneliness lived.

I had no one to ask, no one to talk about my feelings with, not anyone who would understand the complications of feeling different than seemingly everyone else around me. I yelled at her about the bottom bunk and held a grudge for the duration of camp. All because I had a crush on her. And before I could figure my feelings out and put the words to it to make it make sense to me, she was gone.

That night when I went to bed and stuck my hand under my pillow to touch the cold side, I felt the spine of a book. Jesse had left a parting gift for me: Perks of Being a Wallflower. I told the counselors that I felt sick and stayed in my Cabin on that last day reading until my parents came to pick me up at dinner time.

It was like Jesse was speaking to me through that book, like she was telling me in some small way that she knew, at least in part, how I felt, and that she accepted me and, and wanted me to accept her .

D: First we need to hear from Jesse exactly what happened. She's been talking to doctors or police or resting since they found her. Haven't seen her yet, so we let her rest and then we get in and we hear what she has to say.

Cole: It doesn't get us that far, D. I- I feel like we would have heard by now if she could have told police, or anyone, who took her.

D: It'll give us somewhere to start.

Then we're gonna sit down and start recording cuz we got ground to cover. I listened to that interview you did with Dr. Rutland Cole, and I've got some serious questions, and now that damn ransom letter or abduction notice, or whatever the hell that was, I feel like something's starting to click in my brain.

Mark: You know, I've been thinking a lot about that too since you both left me, myself, and I together for a week.

Cole: Sorry about that.

D: Sorry.

Mark: The letter from the listener, the one that Jess was forced to read out seemed kind of self contradictory at first. But when you put it beside the interview, it starts to make a lot more sense.

Cole: I'll be honest, I'm emotionally exhausted. Can, can we take a knee for the night and come back to it-

D: in the morning? Absolutely.

Hello legend it's so late rn so if you have notifs on this is my apology note but let me know how the bookstore went today!! Or if you ended up seeing anything you liked / bought 👀 I had a little look at my reading list (it's my 10 year old ipads iBooks app full of downloaded pdfs. I update it like every 8 months from my folder of screenshots of anyone praising any book ever) and I have a few extra little recs if you ever find yourself stuck for something. I say that like we both probably don't have 100s of recs already but ignore that fact.

The most promising to me looked like "the elephant in the brain" which talks about hidden motives in everyday life (according to the synopsis 💀). I do enjoy a good insight on the mind now I will say big enjoyer. I've got some Carl Jung books in this list as well but I feel like I need to get back in the habit of reading before I start biting off those pieces. It's gonna take every brain cell in my head to pull together on it and I just don't have that capacity rn bye. Another sexy read looks to be "permenant record" by Edward Snowden who basically worked for some national intelligence company and a few years back leaked some fucked up tracing shit they were doing on consumers. Gotta love being reminded about my internet footprint, god I hate the thought. Might be practically common knowledge in that book at this point, not sure but it sounded promising! On a fiction note I'm like 2/3s in (on/off for the last literal year) "the babysitter" by Phoebe Morgan. I quite like it, it's weird to read something in first person but you get used to it quick enough. It's about a girl who was babysitting (we're all shocked) who got murdered on the job (now we're actually shocked) and basically following the case, but following one suspect more than others. I can't say if it's actually going to be predictable or not because I haven't got there (and at this rate I might never make it) but it's an easy read and an enjoyable one!

Hello hello, no need to apologise, always happy to hear from you ^_^ I went very nicely, package was basically presents for my friends but I did end up finding and buying Almond! Walking around in bookstores is a trap for real tho, I had the urge to buy such a big stack of books and start reading immediately. Definitely took some photos of titles to look around online for them, buying from websites always will end up cheaper than in actual bookstore after all. Thanks to that gotta get reading vibe I got I finally got around to cleaning up somewhat and adding stuff to my reading list on storygraph account I made a long while ago and it ended up being 200+ positions and that's definitely not all of them even 😭 I'm such a book collector tbh I love having physical copies of books but I also always fear I'll end up not liking what I bought and waste money... Seeing photos of other people's bookshelves filled with manga or books always makes me want to spend so much money and have similar sized collection 😭 I'll add all your recs to my tbr and definitely read them at one point! I'm also big fun of psychology and mind insights! Similarly horror isn't really my thing but psychological thrillers? Yes 😍 I'm struggling with finishing Girl on the train for a year or two now... It's alright, just not a big fun of how much antagonising each other there is between female characters when chapters are from their povs like understandable but also tiring to read through in my experience. I also really like the idea of giving someone book, music or any other recs, it gives me quality time love language feel, wanting to include someone in something, it's very sweet! I definitely will end up giving you more recs especially cause it's summer so still more time to indulge yourself. Especially cause I often just get a little overwhelmed with how much different interesting media there is to consume, like books, anime & manga, tv shows, movies, games and so many sub genres to all of it, gives me "WOW creation!!!" feeling! I really need to cut down too, mostly yt but the moment I actually end up opening twt or tiktok it ends up such a big time consumer when I could get some nice reading in (I also end up reading fanfics from recs but still some actual books couldn't hurt 💀), definitely would appreciate longer attention span. I also spent longer than usual on genshin with new areas opened to explore for summer event, looks very nice and time really flies when you play 😔 There was MCC yesterday🧍🏻‍♀️...I completely forgot, literally remembered somewhere around midnight and checked twitter to see who won. Feeling conflicted cause on the one hand I always have my fingers crossed for George win but if he and his team ended up winning that one MCC when I forgot about it I would feel so annoyed 😐 Also heard there was some drama with noxcrew and dream and I try to be fair but when many players end up voicing displeasure over glitches in games or the way games are constructed than throwing it all as just biased complaining and hate is definitely not what I would expect from people who should care about feedback and enhancing the players and viewers experience, very immature move in my opinion especially with community that is so vast in people with a lot of knowledge about mechanics and creativity to resolve issues or propose ideas for modyfing games. And thank you, it pretty small team so everyone is understanding and nice, definitely enjoyable so far! After I read what was going on in your place, I'm so happy you had opportunity to get away from that quick, definitely more stressful environment than it should be! I also had opportunity to work remotely so I could go home for some time and finally have opportunity to go to hairdresser on Tuesday so maybe I'll fulfill my ideas of changing hair colour for a while, dark purple sounds kinda fun and cute 🤔 And no worries, take your time, it's always worth it to read your thoughts ^_^ Have a nice Sunday and week sunshine 💛

Haven't watched the episodes yet (And there is a movie!), but I saw a few short clips and it looks like a dozy!

Apparently, it contains a hell bunch of lore to consume. I'm a sucker for lore, though it takes me a while to really understand it, and Christianity is...complex to say the least. Lots you can expand from and just as much to take away.

Which makes sense, given how much information and specifics there is in canon religion, and there is so damn much holy shit. As far as I've seen, I like it, it's like a reverse Constantine. Great animation, handsome designs and the voices go straight to my core, in other words, it's appears well put together! Can't really chose a favorite character since I still need to start the series, for slot filler, I'll pick Amaimon. Such a chaotic child lol, from the clips it seems like he just does whatever he wants, hilariously might I add.

I plan on drawing more Amaimon, yes. Really, I plan on giving near everyone a shot sometime.

I already have a desire to draw Mephisto Pheles and I barely seen him. Not without some self-insert as well of course (I'm weak for demonic "gentlemen", I'm gonna have tons of fun with him). Mostly to get a handle on drawing him, work on doodling them more and the side characters. I'm planning out some original sketches of them, concepts and ideas, since my love for them is only growing! I get the feeling, once I get around to watching the series, I'm going to start shipping some characters too (A lot of them are adorable, and I can't get enough of the designs, the crazy shit we come up with nowadays).

Whether or not I would write for him, I won't lie, probably will.

Once I finish the series (Watch the anime and read a majority of the manga), which is going to take me some time, I'll likely end up putting Blue Exorcist on my "add-to fandoms" list. But right now, I'm not currently writing for it, I'll be more than happy to answer asks and doodle requests (Once they open!) about them, but no writing requests at the moment! Especially since I'm busy finishing up the other 5 in drafts, requests are closed at the moment till they're done. I'll reblog and update the fandom list and Q&A if I make a permeant decision.

I'm aware there isn't much fanfiction for them out there, and I'm so sad there isn't, it's one of the reasons why I am considering writing for it. I've searched AO3 up and down, there isn't much to read! It's a tragedy!

I will still be posting my regular content, but apparently my dumb of ass decided they want to try something new- I want to extend the hand of inspiration to @aster-saturn because I am but a simple pup; what I do mean is I want to create content for c.AI bots - as well as canon x reader asks for interested parties! For the x Readers, this also includes any specific headcanons you might want for canon characters as well! I'm down for accepting, well, almost anything-

To keep things organized, I'll list some of the regulations and guidelines for sending me asks!

a. be respectful. this is self explanatory, but i do have a life outside of tumblr and can't always be responding to asks; i will still do my best to answer as quickly as i can since i tend to come on at night anyway!

b. i do utilize a lot of self indulgent headcanons while still sticking true with their personalities as best i can (unless i feel this needs to be expanded upon). due to this, i am asking that you don't take my interpretations to be 'canon' as this is all just for fun

c. asks must remain sfw- while i do occasionally reblog some adult-themed content, this will not be applied to requests. this is mostly for my own safety and the comfort of others

d. you can request practically anything- from x reader asks about imagined romantic scenarios or you can also just ask for generic scenarios and/or headcanons for canons without needing to be about x reader!

e. in general, this page accepts self inserts and original characters - hence x reader asks! - so, if you don't support that- i have no idea why you're here-

What kind of asks will I be accepting?

~ For starters, I accept anything from angst to lighthearted romcom tropes! I do lean a bit to angst but honestly anything is fine with me! The only exceptions are if it's heavy on the smut side or is something I would be uncomfortable with

~ For x Reader, it can be virtually any imagined scenario from fluff to angst and anything in between. I do highly ask that you don't send scenarios about characters cheating on one another as that makes me severely uncomfortable

~ Headcanons! This gives me a way to just freely infodump and depending on what is being shared, they may be debuting as official headcanons in my fanfics!

~ I only do fandom characters! Please do not send me anything to do with the actors; only their character selves

~ Requesting Alternate Universes and Crossovers is perfectly acceptable! Canon is also accepted, but please specify which version you want when sending in the requests!
