The after party for eurovisions semi final was packed with the singers and the energy in the room was for sure through the roof. Joost your good friend and his group invited you to come with, Joost wanting to share this moment with you more than anything- the excitement and hype of everyone putting their hearts out there and competing only to come together to talk about how much happened, having you there would make it even better, if that would be even possible.

You agreed to come along, not that you had much choice, the Dutchman having begged and nagged and spammed you until you agreed. Not that you didn't want to come! But you knew you would stand out like a sore thumb, probably hang out by a corner waiting for the delicious food to be available or not so crowded. Looking over your outfit and the time you smile pleased with how you look and wonder slightly if Joost would too. You have had the biggest crush on him since a few months after you got to know him, the feelings having appeared and clung onto you with every ounce of power possible, and honestly? You were fine with that. Smoothing out your clothes you look at the time and decided if you want to make it in time you absolutely had to leave.

Grabbing your bag you left your hotel you had booked for the event and quickly drove over to the Venue like Joost told you it would be, not leaving the Malmo Arena, I guess the hosts didn't want to spend more money renting another place out for the singers, at least it was well know and easy to find. Stepping out of your car you hurry inside showing the security your invite from Joost and entering the main lobby reading your friends text to find the way glaring at the device unsure of what Joost was even trying to explain

"Are you looking for someone?" A strong accented and shy voice came from behind you causing you to turn around and blink a few times at the man in a very midevil looking outfit and gentle eyes holding a cup of what you assumed was water, but could be vodka- maybe he was crazy like that "Sorry- Im Marko.." He quickly introduces himself before continuing "You look extremely lost- Im sorry for spooking you" He says with a genuine tone leading to a smile pulling its way onto your lips. After introducing yourself you look back down at your texts "Im actually here for the after party? my friend- one of the performers invited me and he is quite the character when it comes to instructions..." You rub the back of your neck trying to explain the situation to the stranger who was just as bashful as you "Oh! I was just heading back! I'm not very talkative so I got some air but I can take you to the area they have for us" He offers running his hand through his hair that is surprisingly still in good shape like he had maybe applied hairspray not too long ago "Oh would you??" You put away your phone letting Marko nod and wave his hand indicating you to follow

"So who is your- eh- friend?" Marko looks over at you trying to make small talk. "Oh! His names Joost, he is representing the Netherlands." You explain and Marko's face brightens a little "Oh yes! I enjoy his company!" Marko nods with a smile "Makes sense you two are friends! it seems he can befriend almost everyone" He explains putting a finger to his jaw in what seems to be thought "Do you like cats?" Marko questions as you two get closer to the room, music can be heard from inside. nothing too crazy or club like but maybe just background ambiance "Oh yeah! They are so cute! I don't have any of my own but I like visiting my friends kitty's" You smile watching Marko excitedly pull out his phone "Oh let me show you mine!" He says as you two enter the room Marko going through his camera roll leaning into you to get closer so you can see better

Joost Turns to look at the door, hearing the squeak of the hinges that whines under the weight of it being even cracked open and furrows his brows seeing you walk in with Marko...What was he doing out there? Realizing he must have left the party Joost grows even more confused as to why you two were together- wasn't his directions perfectly understandable? His large blue coat long since shedded, Joost rolls up the sleeves of his white button up and crosses his arms leaning on a table watching the two of you interact. 'he is very close to you' he thinks to himself, a sour taste in his mouth watching you laugh at something he had said 'why is he, the shyer one of the bunch all buddy buddy with you? I mean you always have been so approachable- but that's not fair.' Joost clicks his tongue growing more and more impatient 'what if you are leaving me for him? what if you even forget who invited you here?' Joost can feel his patience thinning and the party getting quieter the more he focuses in on you two. Marko with a big grin on his face and you laughing at a photo he had shown you.

"Hey there you are!" Joost doesn't even recall when he had took strides over- or when he was so close to you he could feel the warm body heat emitting off of you "Marko! How nice of you to find my nieuwsgierig hertje". he purrs looking down at the man who is staring up at him "Oh uh-" Marko looks over at you and then slowly puts his phone away and wraps both hands around his drink "Yeah no issues" Marko nods. "No issues." Joost repeats grinding his molars together forcing a grin. he had never any issues with the Croatian- until he was basically in your arms "Bye-" Marko waves at you with a small smile wanting to escape the current situation and looking at Joost before entering the party again "Joost- You spooked him away" You sigh wrapping your arm around your friend leaning into him and Joost can feel his mind calming "He was too close to you" Joost huffs taking his glasses out of his chest pocket putting them on and pushing them up his nose

"He was showing me his cats-" You raise a brow and Joost looks down at you "that close? I think he just wanted to be up on you" Joost rubs his arms and looks away with annoyance lacing his voice "Whats got you in a mood?" you tug on his shirt and Joost grumbles "Nothing." He reply's and you frown "Nothing my ass, what's wrong" You stand your ground not expecting the tall blonde to drag you out into the hall not caring about his grand exit.

"Nothing is wrong." He snaps once you both get out into the hall "You were all emojis and smiles before you saw me walk in with Marko! he was very sweet." you huff and Joost crosses his arms "Sweet huh? sounds like you have a crush." He fixes his glasses that are slipping off his nose "I just met him Joost, what's up with you?" you frown walking towards him "This is a new side of you" You observe and Joost shakes his head "Im always like this okay?" he throws his hands up and you shake your head

"What- is wrong." you demand and Joost glares "Maybe I don't want to see someone I think highly of with some other guy." He says sarcastically "Highly of?" You push and Joost shakes his head "What are you talking about." You reach for him and Joost grabs your wrist, not hard- you could actually pull away if you wanted too "Someone I have wanted as mine forever, walks in with a guy who clearly was hanging off your every word." Joost pushes through his teeth.

you both stand there still as a wall and Joost observes your face, his pupils scanning you over and avoiding eye contact " you- want me?" You repeat and Joost sighs "onoplettend" he mutters and you shake your head "You cant use your mother tongue to get out of this Joost-" you say and take a shaky breath "Do you like me? like- like like-" You mutter and Joost swallows hard "Ja." He responds and you can feel your face grow hot "Really?" you mutter and Joost drops your wrist "Really. and it really- shook me I guess seeing you come in with him.." Joost grumbles and you shake your head "Your directions were ass" You laugh a little upon noticing Joost's offended face "They were eligible-" He defends and you sigh "I- feel the same- I have for such a long time-" You admit with a small smile "I never thought it was possible-" You shrug and Joost blinks at you like you are speaking in a whole other language

"Not possible-??" he repeats in pure shock "You are the most funniest, smartest, good looking, talented, and so much more of a person that I have ever met." Joost says his eyes going soft and you cant help the silence that comes after your brain still playing catch up with the new information "I wanted to tell you properly- a way you would see me as the same ways I see you..." He rubs his forearms nervously tracing his scattered tattoos. "but I guess-" He smiles "This might do?" he chuckles and you rub your mouth slightly with your hand "It does more than might do- I'm so happy-" You mutter and close your eyes taking a deep breath before walking towards him and embracing him in a big bear hug "You don't know how happy I am that you feel the same way" Joost says exasperated "Next time just tell me you goof than getting all jealous" You tease and Joost shakes his head "I was NOT jealous lets get that straight right now" He states playfully "Okay Mr.Not jealous" You chuckle as Joost wraps his arms around you "how does dinner sound tomorrow night-" He smiles and you nod slightly into his chest "consider it a date." you hum

✩‧₊˚minghao: a warmhearted man who just genuinely appreciates the gestures you display for him. sometimes will ask you to reach things for him first just because he knows you’ll do it and it just makes him feel cared for. doesn’t really get flustered per se, but i think he his heart would melt every time you show him any kind of affection :) i think he’s the type to appreciate his partner taking the initiative an equal amount in the relationship, so i think he’d be pretty happy w you doting on him a bit lol. he doesn;t realize your intention is to fluster him at all and you end up never telling him because the look of love he has when you pinch his cheeks is worth anything

Heck, back in his day, he was prancing with a leaf skirt and that was acceptable, let the monkey be damnit.

But he would own something very funky like those peach shorts but specifically wear them on break days or in private

(Mac definitely made an inappropriate joke bout it; he has a mark you could read the king's fortune off of, on his right cheek-)

Mac loves his clouds cloudy king so sure, slap them on his pants I think he'd have those long fluffy or silky pajama pants and he like has a couple he switches out for every now and them.

Wukong struck me as a big shirt, short shorts guy

and Mac'doodles as a small shirt, big pants

On a more angsty note, after death I think he'd be a lot colder like its harder to generate body heat naturally so he'd be a lot more cuddly with his toasted marshmallow king cause he was literally toasty fried for 49 days in heaven (49 earth years if 1 year in heaven is a year belief is true)

I was really debating if they'd be in a tree like normal monkeys or in the stone palace cause like that's a whole thing.

Wukong is not only a king in name, he's got riches and a whole ass stone mansion, I want my boi to one day overcome his guilt and indesire for self care and move into the big boi house with his husbando...one day.

But until then, a girl can dream.

Cause come on, that'd be cool. I understand it'd feel real lonely without the stalwart generals and brotherhood but like he has new company and rekindling with his warrior might help with that.

I also think they'd rather sleep in a cozy lil alclove or like the beds in historical c-dramas that are kinda built in and they build a mini nest of sorts.

I was going to draw the monkeys but tbh, just wasn't feelin it...

Also wanted their tails to make a heart but the lil pointy bit always bugs me so I tried to make it into a more plausible scenario

And irl updates, I have been like formally rehearsing for a performance all week (as in a play) and practicing all day, just watched the 1st cast do it and its my turn tomorrow so wish me luck!

(btw I'm working with young kids, like 8-12 young and they all congregated around me when they saw me drawing like I was a glorified babysitter

And the amount of times I had to put the message on Mac's shirt on a different layer and hide it like bruh. The kids are lovely and all and I'd be happy to show my work but as you can see...not all of my works are...100% PG)

IT IS FINALLY DONE!

God, this took me way too long...xD

After days of work I finally finished the challenge that I set for myself: Sending out props to a lot of artist here on tumblr that I really enjoy! (Actually there are way waaay more people, but I really had to set myself a limit, I'm sorry fellas ;w; I still love you!)

Colin definitely misses Penelope when he gets back. He wants to spend as much time with her as possible. She sees Colin and, of course, gives him an ego boost.

Penelope grounded him through his letters on his first tour, and without her writing him, Colin went crazy. He lost sight of who he was to a point that he created a new social personality as a rake like he thought was expected from him. Why did he think it was expected? The men who would talk to him also had rake personalities, and women would give him attention if he was "charming" and flirty. His brothers even congratulated him for having more "proportion."

However, Pen sees through that. He starts seeing how important not only their friendship is but how much she means to him.

Someone was saying on here that he used the courting lessons to have Penelope forgive him, to be friends again, and to spend more time with him, and I agree. He doesn't really teach her much, except to have confidence and be herself. He's still going unchaperoned with her, touching her, joking/flirting with her, and meeting up in the middle of the night.

Ooo!! Another thought... maybe this is another reason why in the Willow scene, he is so happy to quit the lessons. I think not only his world turned upside down with the kiss, and he now sees Penelope in a more romantic light. Also, he believes she has fully forgiven him for his words from last season, and they can resume just being together that is outside society rules. The word "friend" starts to sound so strange coming out of his mouth when he is starting to describe their relationship. "Like wow! I like her, AND I can kiss her too? I didn't know I could do that! And I like doing that."

Yet now, she is saying she wants to look for a relationship with someone else, and Colin just wants to make her happiness, even if it's not with him. Which starts his torture.

I'm seeing so many new things!!!

Then his mom says that it's ok to gather courage if she also has feelings. Colin is like, "Absolutely! I'm a good boy, and I will gather courage to ask."

And he freezes. There are so many doubts. He has no idea if she likes him. His fear takes over, and Lord Debling shows up to start a courtship dance. Of course, Colin wants Penelope’s happiness, so if she chose Debling, he would let her.

The second that he realized that Penelope would be engaged and to a man that would not love her, that is when Colin gathers the courage to ask. Pen would not be happy with Debling, and Colin only wants her happiness. Colin realized he wanted to make her happy, she would make him happy, and he would do everything in his power to make her happy. For the rest of their lives. He knew in that moment that he could waste no more time. Who needs courtship when they've known each other most of their lives? Now that he knows she wants to be more than friends, he wants to marry her.

I'm going to watch Season 3 Part 1 again. I'm in a loop, my fellow Bridgerton watchers!

Was rereading the Knowing Too Much AU (eldritch batfam beloved), and realized that since Barbara's aspect is knowledge does that mean she's the third to figure it out? Maybe after the Cave Incident where everyone's trying to undo the "curse" Tim is under. She wants to know what happened to him, she wants to know why, she wants to know how, she wants to know if she can fix it. And then she stumbles upon his research, and figures out what's really going on. And she changes. (It's not a curse, it's so much worse...)

You are correct! Barbra is the third one to figure out what's really going on. But I'm trying to decided wither or not she tells Tim she knows. Telling Tim might devastate him, as he's clearly been trying to keep this thing suppressed in anyway possible, and telling him could also actually make things even worse.

The less people know about this mess, the better.

I also updated the positive/negative powers for the EldritchFamily

-Tim/Aspect Hope = Power/Teleportation. Tim can create a portal to anywhere, and innately knows where any object or person is. The entity however forces Tim to drag people back to Gotham, wither they want to return or not. Tim is essentially the chain that keeps them tied to city

-Bruce/Aspect Justice = Power/Shadow manipulation. Bruce can warp shadows and make them physical. He can also melt into shadows and use them to travel anywhere there is a patch of darkness. He can also lurk in these spots and spy on people if he wishes. The entity however has a good deal of influence on Bruce and can tamper with his personalty, making him more extreme in his crusade or suppress his emotions.

-Dick/Aspect Humanity = Power/Empathy. Dick can amplify people's positive emotions, like love, happiness, and compassion. His power helps the family retain their humanity, boosts their powers, it can also help compel villains to do good deeds. The negative part to his power though is that the entity will make Dick inject negative emotions into villains, making them even more deranged and violent.

-Jason/Aspect Rebirth = Power/resurrection. Jason's power is the most OP and ironically the most simplistic, he can bring people back to life. The downside? The entity makes him bring back villains too, especially the Joker.

-Cassandra/Aspect Secrets = Power/Invisibility. If Cassandra doesn’t want to be found or suspected, she will never be seen or thought of again until she desires it. She can also turn herself or anything she wants completely invisible, even to technology and the senses, meaning you can't track her through smell or sound either. The entity forces her to hide objects or people that could help the family rebel against it. ((She never remembers doing this either, so she can't just cheat and tell where the shit is lol))

Barbra/Aspect Knowledge = Power…Knowledge lol. If Barbra wants to know something, she will always find the answer to it. She remembers EVERYTHING and instantly understands any complex idea or problem that comes before her. However, whatever she learns, she must share that same knowledge with the entity, meaning whatever she knows, the entity knows too.

He hadn't had this much trouble with his powers since he was fourteen, and it was getting old very quickly.

Vlad had been shocked when he answered the door with Danny's hand stuck in the doorknob, and he and Ember both shared a laugh. Danny grumbled as he held his pants up.

With a promise to head back to the Ghost Zone and give him a break, Ember flew off, leaving Danny and Vlad alone on the stoop.

Dark blue eyes narrowed in amusement, Vlad phased him out of the door and held it open for him. "Well, little badger, you might as well come in. Tell me what happened, and you can wait it out here until your powers are in control. Tell me, was it your bumbling father who did this?"

Danny glowered at the older man, grumbling as he stumbled inside. He gave Vlad a rundown of the scenario, followed by a short phone call to his parents to let them know where he was and that Vlad was helping him with college applications. The phone clattered to the floor as it phased through his hand. He sighed. Exasperated, he toed off his socks and shoes, using his toes to dial Sam, putting it on speaker and glaring at in angrily. Vlad didn't bother to hide his laughter as he went to the kitchen to make some tea.

His friends were not happy about where he was, but they understood. It wasn't like Danny could go back home with his powers on the fritz, nor could he trust himself to stay with one of them. The chance of revealing Phantom to one of their parents was all too likely in his current state, so that was a definite "No" from all three of them. Unfortunately, that left Vlad as his only saving grace. They didn't like it, and Danny might have forgotten to mention that there was something going on between them (he wasn't ready to listen to them freak out over it yet and lecture him on why it was such a bad idea), but they accepted it, making him promise to call as soon as anything shady happened. He promised (lied) and hung up, only to yelp and claw at the floor as he started to sink into it.

"Vlad, help!" he shouted, panicking.

Vlad came rushing back into the room, eyes darting around wildly in preparation for an attack. When he spotted Danny, his eyebrows shot up, and the bastard actually started laughing.

Danny glared, nails digging into the plush carpet as he held on for dear life as his torso continued to sink into the floor. "It's not funny, you fucking fruitloop! I can't control it, I can't- just help!" Panic was starting to lace his words.

"Oh- Oh, badger, I'm"- Vlad snorted and hid his smirk behind his hand. "I'm sorry! Here." He grabbed Danny's hand and pulled him up, only to lose it completely when Danny's foot got stuck.

The reality of what happened only really hit Moon when he picked up the decayed master sword - but all he can do is press on and hope that somehow that flash of yellow light had meant that Sun is still alive.

But for your question! Yep! Breath Of The Wild still happened, and they are twins (ramble under the cut)

However, due to the king being an ass of a father (yes, it's Creator), he had decided that Moon would be separated from Sun at birth. They were aware they're siblings, but were kept apart enough to not really feel much of a connection.

When the two were born, the Sheikah had told the king and queen that Sun inherited his mother's power of light, while Moon had not. Terminal illness took their mother a few years after, and the king decided that Sun needed to develop his powers as they knew the Calamity was coming and his mother was no longer there to defend the kingdom.

Moon was pushed towards knighthood so he could serve the kingdom and no longer "distract Sun". The king basically just dropped him off at the house of the top knight in Hyrule and ordered him to train the young child. Moon was never treated as a prince or even as a brother to Sun again from that point forward. He was damn good at swordfighting though 👍

The Master Sword claimed Moon as its new master, and finally the king cared about Moon's existence again. He was to be appointed as Sun's personal knight. Sun... did not like this. He and Moon had become so estranged that Sun just felt like he was babysat and watched even more than he already was.

But Moon proved to be very devoted to protecting Sun, and the events of the Breath Of The Wild memories play out. Sun starts warming up to him after Moon saved his life, and the two slowly start rebuilding their sibling bond from that point forward :]

They are now inseparable and absolutely devoted to protecting eachother

(except they get separated twice lol, once during the events of BOTW, and again now)

Ooh, so how would you envision tbt in techno branch au

So Techno Branch doesn't get along as well with the Pop Trolls after world tour as the other Branches I think, so I'm not even sure if he would have shown up to the wedding.

It'd be very funny to have JD crash a wedding for a Troll who isn't there.

If they had to pop by Techno Reef I think John is VERY confused why his brother lives underwater. It'd be interesting though because potentially you could have John Dory meet Branch while he's DJing.

Trollex of course is with Branch and he insists Branch isn't going alone. To be honest I could see Synth worming his way into the trip as a stowaway. Branch opens a box and Synth is crammed inside.

Synth: Hi Dubstep! Branch: Well I guess I didn't bring any spears. Trollex: Synth, you could have just asked to come. You didn't need to hide in the box. Beat Drop Button: Put the lid back on it, let's keep him in there.

I actually think Techno Branch goes exclusively by Dubstep. He might be the one Branch to fully rename himself. I kind of like the idea that Techno Branch harbors the most resentment, funny enough.

Maybe Techno Branch and Rock Sibs Branch would be besties.

Anyway!

Branch changing his name would make the Bruce encounter VERY interesting because Bruce wants his name to be respected but considering Branch didn't even change his name canonically and Bruce didn't call him the right name, I do wonder if he'd respect that he goes by Dubstep.

Bruce: I wanted to put the boyband days behind me. Branch, genuinely wanting to bond: Oh, me too! I go by 'Dubstep' now- Bruce: That's cute Bitty, you had maybe 15 seconds of 'the boyband days'.

Clay would get kinda frustrated by the Techno Trio's (that's their name now) goofing off. Between Trollex and Synth it's absolute madness, and Branch will sometimes throw himself into it for the bit. It's nice to not have to be the voice of reason sometimes, since unlike with Poppy he can rely on King Trollex to actually reel (get it) Synth in when needed.

Floyd is happy to see Branch but really confused by the walking fish people.

Synth ends up getting grabbed when Velvet and Veneer come back. His water powers still work in the diamond however so he sprays Velvet in the face during the boat fight.

For the Perfect Family Harmony I imagine they sing 'Face to Face' by Daft Punk and the diamond shatters when Branch, Trollex and Synth hit Beat Drop Button for the drop.

Top 5 underappreciated historical figures!

Thanks for the ask! This one was super fun, but also super difficult to answer. I've purposefully avoided mentioning the ladies of the French Revolution, since I have another question specifically about them lined up.

With that being said, in no particular order:

Fulvia

Anyone in the classics circle likely knows much more about her than I do, but I'm so glad I've discovered her through Tumblr! All of the things I've learned about her so far have been so interesting. It's incredible to see how much political (and military) power a Roman woman was able to yield despite living in a deeply patriarchal society.

(also, the part of me that loves drama really appreciates the story about her stabbing Cicero's tongue with hairpins after the proscriptions and Octavian's atrocious poem about her)

2. Émilie du Châtelet

Also hardly a surprise for anyone who's been following me for a while. Again, the fact that I've only relatively recently found out that there was a female mathematician and physicist in the fist half of the 18th century with such significant contributions to the field makes me almost feel as if I've been lied to.

She is special to me both because she was incredibly smart (she was able to understand Newton like few other people in her time and she spoke so many languages!) but there's also something about her writing that makes her feel deeply human and relatable. I've read some of her texts, and not only are they written in a beautiful prose but they're also incredibly moving. Her view on how to achieve happiness in life is one of the best I've ever came across, and her arguments for the education of women always make me feel so emotional...

...when she says that it was only after she realised that the circle of (male) French intellectuals accepted her among themselves and treated her as equal that she realised she too "might be a thinking creature"... I don't know, there's something about it that always gets to me.

Okay, time to introduce some male historical figures as well! This one is a residue from the time when I was really into the American Revolution.

3. Peter Stephen Du Ponceau

He was probably the only one in Baron von Steuben's original group that was able to speak decent English when they first arrived in the US to join the revolutionary war, which a) makes him quite important b) is kind of funny to think about.

But what I especially like about him is that he was a talented linguist who seemed to have genuine respect for other cultures, which let's face it, was quite rare in his times. While taking part in the American Revolutionary War, he recorded and studied the languages of Native American People. How cool is that?

(He was also potentially queer and I do have a soft spot for queer history)

Okay, guess should bring up someone interesting from Czech history as well. I fully confess that my own country's history is not necessarily my favourite area of study, but for her, I'll always make an exception:

4. Milena Jesenská

Probably most well known as Kafka's (kind of?) girlfriend/pen pal, but there is so much more to her story!

She was a writer and a journalist during the first half of the 20th century. She was really talented and soon made a reputation for herself, which let's face it, wasn't an easy thing to do for women in her time.

After Czechia became occupied by Nazi Germany, she joined the resistance movement and helped Jewish families to escape. She was later transported to a concentration camp, where she worked as a nurse and was said to have been "a moral support for other prisoners". She unfortunately died there when she was only 47. Still, what a life!

5. John Polidori

He's not necessarily my number one favourite person but I'd argue he is one of the most unappreciated figures. Vampires in fiction are massively popular but he rarely gets credited as one of its first authors. (Also the theory that Lord Ruthven, the charismatic, immoral aristocrat featured in The Vampyre is heavily based off on Lord Byron is not only entirely plausible but also quite funny).

Whenever I read something about the Geneva Squad, I always end up feeling kind of bad for him. As a foreigner, someone who was of a lower social status and - since he technically came along as Byron's personal physician - a paid employee, it just seems to me like he was never actually fully part of the group. Maybe I'm wrong, but to me, he felt kind of like a perpetual outsider. Lord Byron also got the credit for writing The Vampyre that should have gone to Polidori.

He was of course far from a perfect saint, with his drug and gambling addiction, but I still can't help but feel that he deserved better.

zhang ruo yun is a fine actor, but i find him particularly compelling when he's vibrating from rage. there's something raw in his defiant eyes and his posture. he's at least half the reason i'm watching joy of life.

so i'm now 6 episodes into the 2nd season. fan xian has finally earned the right to be alive again after his fake death, with the help of a foreign princess and much theatrics. back in the imperial palace, he tells on the second prince and princess royal, which earns him nothing good and traps his sister in a disadvantageous match. and he is livid. because innocent lives are at the mercy of the powerful, who are left unchecked.

honestly, there is no better ad for democracy as a concept (although i am very aware democracy doesn't mean you instantly fix every power imbalance). there is no question that the system as it is doesn't work. and no one is happy in it. even the princes are in constant competition and deeply unsatisfied with their lives. either because they're trying to get ahead in the succession line, or because being the chosen one, constantly watched, and having to watch your back, takes its toll on a person. but it's actually fascinating as a study! and we keep getting insights into characters that make them more fleshed out and human.

i think i said this for joy of life 1 too, but it's always a small miracle to me when such a big cast of characters can be maintained and no one feels superfluous to the story. every single person helps the plot move forward or shows us what fan xian fights for/against.

this drama negociates tonal shifts like no other. i'm thinking of the whole storyline around moon embracing pavilion as an example. it's in turn funny, tragic and enraging, but never in a jarring way.

tl;dr

i love fan xian as played by zhang ruo yun. if i could i'd stay home to binge the whole thing.

Bridgerton S3 episode 3 reaction

So this is my reaction to Episode 3 of Bridgerton Season 3. I am doing this slowly so I don't burn myself out and can digest each episode. So far I am loving the show and know it's just going to get more juicy, so here goes. Spoilers ahead but most of y'all have seen it already.

Wow, they're starting on a sexy dream and it's super hot! I knew Colin was hooked from last episode's kiss and he is! He is thinking about Penelope and the kiss, we're going to get a lot of lovesick Colin and I am here for it!

Ok, so now with the family we are getting awkward trying to deny it but failing miserably Colin which is hilarious! He's such a cinnamon roll he won't be able to hide this for too much longer. He may have slept with some ladies, but he is no true rake or hider of his feelings.

Awww, we're getting a bit Peneloise! Love them as besties, and so so hope this means there is going to be a thaw and a path back to friendship. I think I would be somewhat upset as Eloise due to Penelope's lies and continuing as Lady Whistledown even if it hurts people even herself. But I get Penelope too in that LW offers her money, power, and a voice. It has become a part of who she is and she enjoys it. Perhaps if LW were to be revealed or gotten rid of, the two will be friends again.

The ton is full of bitches, geez what was Pen's crime? Being a bit pathetic? She doesn't fit the mold due to size and being a wallflower and they are so mean to her about it. Granted LW just labeled her as pathetic as well and they take cues from LW, but this was happening even before LW said anything. I'm going to live for her becoming Mrs. Colin Bridgerton and having a rising star as an in your face to all the haters!

Ok, the willow scene is everything I wanted it to be! It's gorgeous and the awkward Pen and Colin! They are friends and want to make sure that the other is happy. Even in lust, Colin doesn't push his way into Penelope's life or arms again and listens to her. So cute!

Aw, I ship Colin and Penelope, but I really like Lord Debling. I think that to spice up the drama they couldn't have put someone uninteresting in that place, they had to make him a viable suitor for Penelope and it's working for me. He's adorable and charming, Not endgame obviously but good for you Penelope! Flirt away with handsome vegetarian man!

The pastry scene! I was spoiled by pictures of this and it lives up to the hype! The expression on his face! He is going to have so many nasty thoughts about this moment lol! Oho! I so get the he bought the pastry to see how Pen's mouth tasted at that moment memes started, yes yes!

Ooh man of action Colin! So hot! But then we have Lord Debling coming over and protecting her! Ooh, get it Penelope! What a day! To see Colin's rippling arms like that and then to be wrapped around Lord Debling's arms! And the care he's putting into making sure she's ok! He's definitely in the running now!

I like Lady Tilley Arnold. I think she's an interesting addition to the show, she seems like an intelligent, capable woman. She might not be Benedict's endgame, but I think she will offer a lot of interesting scenes and banter. I think she will play the perfect foil to Sophie if the writers stick to that storyline. I like Tilley and she's interesting, but a little too forward and sure of herself for Benedict. I think Benedict wants someone he can sweep off her feet and live a romance with.

Ok, I really like Lord Debling, so sue me. He is honest, charming and understanding. He doesn't want her to be someone just for him and seems to like Penelope for being herself. We're rooting for Polin, but I like the writers here for making Lord Debling attractive and a viable second choice.

Colin is so falling for Penelope and now Violet definitely knows that he feels something for Penelope. Mama ain't no fool! And Lady Whistledown here is doing amazing writing here. The whole episode was full of innovations, nature, and technology and now we get the whole thesis of the episode. In that all innovations are a distraction and our greatest battle is within ourselves.

Colin was on the precipice of something, but couldn't put it into words. Penelope felt something and even gave him a chance, but that time delay was starting to get awkward. She had to go with Lord Debling. I don't think she was being cruel here or making Colin suffer, there was no other option besides she likes Lord Debling too at this point. I also like "Happier than ever" playing, I like that song and it is Pen's f you people, I can get a man if I wanted to moment.

OK, so not as juicy an episode as ep 2 so far in that they are still in the will they won't they stage of things, but I think that's ok. For friends to lovers and these Bridgerton seasons, I think the slow burn is for the best before we get the sex all the time episodes. We got a lot of pining Colin in this episode and I loved it! He's so cute when he's all jealous and wondering what Penelope's doing.

Can't wait for the final episode, I know it's super juicy!

I really like when Gaius gets to talk all medical considering how limited the medicine world was at the time. It's really really cool, I love seeing this insight into what was possibly like to be a physician at the time. I don't of this happens much in the show.

Arthur really is so trusting when it comes to his loved ones. Of course he's not at fault, like he said what do they have to lose at this point, honestly I've done the same. It's just. Heartbreaking to notice that trait knowing what comes next.

The fucking lying back and forth between Gaius and Edwin. Like. From the outside, it sounds like a perfectly normal convo. But they both know it isn't. And WE know it isn't 'cause we know Edwin's full of shit.

Interesting how Arthur isn't seated but Uther and Morgana are.

Who the fuck knocks on someone's door, doesn't hear an answer, and then just let's themselves in?? I'm sorry, if you're a stranger, I'm not doing that. The fuck's wrong with you Merlin, you nosy boy??

It is so sickening that these villains of the week have views that we can agree with. Yes, magic is a gift and can be a force for good, you're right! But it's because of Uther and his oppression that they turn bitter and ruthless and vindictive. And yes, you do have to eliminate those who are like Uther because they will only propagate the same corrupted and repressive beliefs. The problem, the layers, is that some of those people are actually very much capable of understanding the very fundamental logic that "Sorcerers deserve too live in freedom" but they're so filled with fear and propaganda of the contrary that it's so hard to get out of it. And that's why, if they killed Uther with magic, Arthur would hate magic even more (just like it happens in canon), which would then just repeat the cycle, etc etc. You need to uproot the system, but killing everybody is not the answer; but also having to teach such a fundamental thing, that certain humans deserve basic rights, is such a painful thing to teach, and the oppressed does not have the obligation to do so. But then the cycle just repeats and repeats and it's SHIT. Anyways.

It's so funny that in season 1 they hadn't figured out the cgi for the golden eyes so they just. simply don't show it.

The things Edwin say are like. Well-meaning. But there's just this off vibe that the most intelligent characters (Gaius, Gwen, Merlin) can just. pick up. And even though Merlin really likes what Edwin is saying, there's just something telling him... it's wrong.

Uther, of course, would never even believe anyone would just lie so blatantly and manipulate him like this because he thinks himself very intelligent; which is why he's falling for everythinggg that Edwin says. But, credit where credit's due, Edwin is an excellent liar.

If Gaius would've left in this episode, replaced by Edwin, I bet Morgana would've felt so guilty. In her mind, her illness is what caused him to leave. Gaius truly was there for Morgana and Arthur in ways Uther simply could not.

As bonkers as it sounds, they truly are friends in some capacities. I wonder if Gaius could make Uther change his mind. Not Morgana or Arthur, but Gaius. But he made the choice to abandon magic, Uther presumed because Gaius understood its dangers, but if he were to find out that actually Gaius doesn't agree, I wonder what Uther would think about that. Like a genuine and open convo about it. I think he'd just arrest Gaius for it, but I don't know. I think there's at least some reality where he gives it some more thought. But I don't know if he'd ever repel the ban, more because he'd have to admit that he was wrong, and admitting you're wrong is also accepting and processing all the shit you did for that wrong thing, and I just think Uther is too cowardly to do so. He knows it would break his mind to truly process all the pain and horror he's caused; so no matter his inner philosophies, he'll never repel the ban, because the damage has been done, and he'd rather live like that than start anew in the new reality where he's wrong.

Usually, being away from your family - your boyfriend Tony and your twins, Hudson and Orion - is acceptable for you. Still, today is different, as this will be the first time you won't be sharing Tony's birthday all together. Instead, you must go for a work trip you can't get out of, and he's now dropping you off at the airport with the twins.

"Are you sure you have to leave soon, Sunshine? I'm not sure I can miss you on my birthday," Tony said with a slight pout. He's holding your hands, squeezing softly as he looks into your eyes. Hudson and Orion are strapped in their stroller as they happily babble away with one another.

"I'm sure, My Love. But I'll be back before you know it," you tell him as you get up on your tiptoes, capturing his lips with yours in a soft, sweet kiss that sets your insides on fire. Instead of pulling away, however, Tony gently grabs your face as he slowly deepens the kiss, leaving you breathless momentarily.

"W-what was that for?" you ask shyly, a burning sensation forming in your flushed cheeks.

"Nothin', I just felt like kissing my girl," he says with a smirk, and you're practically melting on the spot with those words. Before you can say anything, he leans in again. He bumps his nose against yours before kissing you again, his lips melding with yours effortlessly.

"I'm so lucky to have you and our little family," Tony whispers as he pulls away, a slight tremble in his voice as he knows the goodbye is getting closer by the minute.

"Oh no, I'm the lucky one, My Love. I wouldn't be standing here today with our beautiful Munchkins without you. Ti amo amore mio," you tell him, and his eyes widen as he hears the Italian words slip from your tongue.

"Ti amo, mio sole," Tony tells you in a soft voice, feeling overwhelming emotions as he pulls you in for another kiss. He can't stay away from you or your soft lips for too long, needing as much time tasting you as he possibly can.

"Can I say goodbye to your babies now?" you ask jokingly, and Tony agrees with a chuckle. He lets you go, so you bend down to grab Orion first while Tony gets Hudson out of his side of the stroller.

"Mommy is going to miss you so much, Babygirl!" you tell your three-year-old daughter, Orion.

"I miss you too, Mommy," she says in a small voice as she places her head on your shoulder and her chubby arms around your neck. As she melts into your warmth, Hudson also stretches his arms out, needing to be held by you.

"Me too, Mommy! I miss Mommy," he tells you before doing the same as his sister so you can cuddle both simultaneously. While they do this, you must try your hardest not to cry as you fight against the tears threatening to escape.

"I will miss you too, Babyboy. But I promise to call you daily and will return before you know it. Until then, you two get to play with Daddy, Gramps, and Glamma every day!" you try to tell them excitedly, but they pull themselves closer to your body.

"It's okay, Sunshine; you don't have to stay strong all the time," Tony whispers against your forehead as his lips brush against it, tears flowing down his cheeks as you let yours flow, too. Each goodbye is hard, but this one takes an even bigger toll on you and your boyfriend.

"I love all three of you so much, I can't even begin to tell you. But I promise to be back as soon as I can, okay? And I'm sorry I won't be home on your birthday, My Love. I wish there were more I could do," you tell him, though you don't mention that you plan to surprise him on his special day.

"You don't have to say sorry, Sunshine. You have tried everything you could, and we will FaceTime extra long on my birthday, just like we promised," he tells you, and you nod.

All four of you stay like this for as long as you possibly can, but now, it's time for you to leave; otherwise, you will miss the window to board the plane.

While you strap Hudson back into the seat, Tony's holding a sniffling Orion. These goodbyes always hit her the hardest, and even though Hudson doesn't like seeing you leave either, it's nothing compared to the way his sister feels about you going.

"I love you, my beautiful Babyboy," you whisper before kissing his cheek, making him giggle. Then it's Orion's turn to say goodbye and be put into the stroller, which she accepts.

"And I love you too, my beautiful Babygirl," you tell Orion before giving her a big kiss on her cheek, and she smiles through the tears as you pull away.

"And, of course, I can't forget about you, My Love. Because I love you more than anything in this world," you tell him before pulling him into a big hug, and he pulls you close against his body. His hands are fisted into the oversized hoodie you're wearing - his hoodie, to be exact - as he inhales small whiffs of your perfume.

"I love you so much, Sunshine. And I can't wait to have you back in my arms again in two weeks," he tells you in a small voice. After a few last hugs and more kisses, you let go of your boyfriend, ready to head through the check-in and towards your flight.

As you walk to the check-in line, you constantly look back to see all three of them looking and waving at you, and a giant smile appears on your face as they do. You wave back when you can, and once you're all checked in, you turn back one last time.

You raise both arms above your head to wave to all three of them and send them air kisses for as long as you can see them. Hudson and Orion are waving like crazy, and Tony mostly sends kisses through the air between waves until you're out of sight.

Tony feels the lump in his throat tighten as he looks at you as you walk around the corner. He grabs the stroller with his twins to turn around, but before he can do that, you run around the corner to wave one last time, and he waves back with a significant smile.

"Let's go home, Munchkins. Gramps and Glamma will be more than happy to see your sweet faces again," he tells the twins, who immediately get excited at the thought of seeing their grandparents.

Leaving your family behind always sucks, but the reunion is going to be more than worth it, especially when it comes at an unexpected moment for one of you, but you don't get to worry about that for another week. You will have to cross that bridge when you get to it.

You've been busy with work and planning the biggest surprise of Tony's birthday for the last week and a half. You've been constantly texting Howard and Maria to get everything in order, and now you're waiting on the airplane back home.

You get up at around 5 AM to get ready, as you must board the plane at 8:30 AM. This has been quite a challenge, seeing as you're not a morning person in the slightest. Despite this, you have arrived at the airport bright and early and are now sipping on a steaming cup of coffee while waiting.

As you're still trying to wake up, you grab your phone out of your bag and open the messages to look at the cute photo Tony sent you yesterday right after dinner. It's a picture of Hudson and Orion having smeared spaghetti sauce all over their faces and noodles in their hair, as well as the biggest, brightest smiles you've ever seen as they look at one another with pure happiness.

As you save the photo to set as your background, you think about how lucky you are to have two amazing children with the man you have fallen hard and deep for. Tony, Hudson, and Orion complete your world, and you couldn't have wished for a better life after moving to New York.

Before putting your phone away, you send Tony a message wishing him a happy birthday and telling him how much you miss him and your babies. Right after hitting 'send,' you're being called to board the plane. Perfect timing.

MEANWHILE, AT THE STARK HOUSEHOLD

Tony woke up a little earlier than usual. After slipping into his comfortable sweatpants, a simple shirt, and glasses, he was on his way to wake up your son and daughter. While walking to their bedroom, he's already smiling from ear to ear as he can't wait for the love he'll get from them.

"Good morning, Munchkins!" Tony says as he cracks open their door. Much to his surprise, it's not Hudson but Orion who's awake and ready to start the day. She's usually not a morning person, which is a trait she definitely inherited from you.

"Happy birthday, Daddy!" Orion says softly as she holds out her arms, ready for Tony to gather her for a much-needed cuddle this early morning. As he gets comfortable on her bed, Orion settles on his lap, and your boyfriend can't help but notice the resemblance between you and her, making his heart skip a beat.

"Good morning, Babygirl," Tony whispers before smoothing her long, dark hair out of her face and kissing her forehead, making her smile at the itchy feeling of his facial hair. Tony smiles into the kiss, a flurry of butterflies going wild in his stomach.

Tony gets lost in his thoughts momentarily as they're taken over by the love he feels for his amazing children. They have brought more joy and love than he could ever have imagined, and sharing that love with you makes it perfect.

Suddenly, Tony feels the bed shift, and he opens his eyes to see Hudson's bright smile and messy curls as he joins them on the bed. Your boyfriend allows him to get comfortable on his lap alongside his sister.

"Happy birthday, Daddy," Hudson mumbles as he settles, his eyes falling shut as sleep threatens to take over again. With a large smile, Tony places his head against the wall behind him, feeling more fortunate than ever. However, the only thing that would make today even better would be if you were here to complete his day.

"I love you both so much; do you two know that? I'm so lucky to be your Daddy, and today, I feel even luckier because I got to spend my birthday with the two of you," Tony tells them with a large smile.

"We're lucky too, Daddy," Orion says, and Tony brushes her hair out of her face again, looking at the flush on her cheeks. It makes him think of you, as he loves how you look with flushed cheeks after he compliments you.

"Yes, we're lucky because you're our Daddy, and Mommy is our Mommy!" Hudson then tells Tony, who can't help but smile like an idiot at their words before pulling them tight against his body. The three of them stay like this for just a few more minutes until it's time to prepare for breakfast.

"Daddy loves you both very much, but I can tell you two are having some hungry tummies! I can even hear one of them roaring with the need for delicious waffles!" Tony says as he tickles both of them on their sides, making them squeal from laughter.

Both Hudson and Orion quickly wiggle out of Tony's grasp to escape the tickles, and they're ready to get dressed and have their hair done. Orion is wearing a dress with a unicorn - her favorite - while Hudson is wearing a matching set of dinosaur clothes.

"If you two go and ask Glamma to do your hair, I will get ready and make you two some breakfast," Tony says, and with a pat on their butts, he sends them out of the room before doing a quick tidying of their bedroom, and then it's time for him to get dressed and ready for the day.

Tony opts to wear a relatively simple outfit today. The weather promises to be excellent, and he'll most likely be swimming in the pool this afternoon with the twins to cool off. Combined with his glasses and tied-back hair, he looks at himself approvingly in the mirror before breakfast.

However, before he does, he decides to look at his phone, and much to his surprise, there's a message from you. He didn't expect to hear this early from you, but he smiles from ear to ear as his eyes read over the message.

Sunshine ☀️ 💛 >> Good morning, My Love! ❤️ I wish you the happiest birthday today, and I can't believe you're turning 25 without me! I deeply miss you and the Munchkins and look forward to our FaceTime call tonight. I love you so much, and I can't wait to be home again with you all ❤️

Tony can't stop smiling as he reads the message, his bottom lip pulled between his teeth as he thinks about everything he has planned during your shared FaceTime call tonight. After a short moment, he texts you back with a thank you, how much he misses you, and a thousand I love you's, and then it's officially time to head down for breakfast.

"Happy birthday, Daddy!" Hudson and Orion enthusiastically say as Tony walks into the large dining room. He's greeted by all the decorations Howard and Maria have used to decorate the house and his twins, who are happily bouncing in their places.

"Thank you both so much!" Tony says as he smiles widely and sits on his knees for some more cuddles with the twins. Maria takes plenty of pictures to send you later, which will be the highlight of your day once you land.

After both Hudson and Orion have gotten a big kiss on their chubby, rosy cheeks, Tony goes to Howard for a hug and his birthday congratulations.

"Happy birthday, Son. I'm sorry Y/N can't be here today with us, but I'm sure she'll be thinking of you from the other coast," Howard says as he pulls Tony close, and Tony nods and sighs softly. This is his first birthday without you, and it feels like a piece of his soul is missing while you're gone.

"Thank you, Dad. I appreciate it," Tony says before pulling away. Then it's Maria's turn. She has to stand on her tiptoes to wrap her arms around her son's neck, but she doesn't mind.

"Buon compleanno, bambino," Maria whispers in Tony's ear, and he smiles widely at the words. Each year, his Mom wishes him a happy birthday in Italian, making him warm and fuzzy. They share something unique and something he looks forward to every year.

"Grazie mamma. Ti amo," Tony whispers, and Maria hugs him tighter at his words. She's the first one to let go, but before Tony can go too far, she grabs his cheeks and kisses his forehead, and Tony smiles at the touch.

"Although Y/N isn't here today, she still wanted you to have something special to wish you a happy birthday," Maria says. She turns her son around to find Hudson and Orion holding a card and a small present.

"It's for you, Daddy! From Mommy," Hudson says as he gives Tony the card, and Tony can feel a lump forming in his throat.

"Thank you, Baby Boy," he whispers as he takes it and carefully opens the envelope. Inside is a card with photos of you and him throughout your relationship and a few with the twins. He opens it to find a beautifully handwritten note from you.

Even though I cannot be with you today, I want you to know I think about you every second. I hope you will make today a day never to forget, as you only turn 25 once, and I am happy to celebrate you when I'm back in New York.

Thank you for everything you have done for me over the last couple of years, as I know I wouldn't be where I am today without your support and love. Seeing you go from a sweet, shy boy to the most loving, fantastic father anyone could wish for has filled my heart with endless joy, and I cannot wait to see where the rest of our lives will take us.

I want you to know that I love you with all my heart and soul, and I can't imagine living without you. With all my heart, I love you, Tony. I can't wait to see you again.

As Tony reads the card, he can feel the tears burning in the corners of his eyes as he smiles widely. A sniffle escapes before he can help himself, and he wipes away the tears slowly trickling down his cheeks.

"No being sad, Daddy," Orion said softly, and he shook his head.

"Sometimes it's okay to be sad, Babygirl. I really miss Mommy today, which makes me sad. But there's nothing wrong with being sad and crying. We can't always be strong, even when it's our birthday," Tony says, and she nods.

"We miss Mommy too," Orion says before hugging Tony again, and Hudson joins in on the hug before confirming his sister's words. Tony sighed deeply as he took in the moment, allowing them to pull away when needed.

"I love you too so much, and I'll be sure to FaceTime Mommy tonight with the two of you, okay?" he asks, and they happily agree, the sadness already forgotten.

"Here, Daddy," Orion then said, and she gave him a small package wrapped in beautiful paper with hearts on it. As he unwrapped it, he found a lovely family photo taken last Christmas, in which the entire family was wearing matching Christmas pajamas. In front are Tony and you, together with the twins, and Howard, Maria, and Virginia are behind the four of you, completing the photo.

He's smiling from ear to ear as he looks at the photo, but he can't take his eyes off you. Your bright smile and beautiful eyes have him falling in love all over again, and his heart beats faster as his eyes roam over your visible tattoos.

"My beautiful Sunshine," Tony whispers as he looks at you for a few more short moments, and then it's officially time for breakfast. Maria has prepared a large stack of waffles with many toppings, and the twins get to indulge in something sweeter today because it's a special day.

After cutting up the waffles for Hudson and Orion and putting them on their plates, Tony asks his Mom, "What's on your mind, Mamma?"

“Not much, il mio bellissimo figlio. I've just been thinking about how fast you're growing up," she says with a small smile, thoughts of the day he was born flooding back. The happiness they felt when they found out they were expecting a baby, and how amazing it was to hold Tony in their arms for the first time.

"You're turning 25 today but will always be my beautiful baby. I was thinking about the day you were born and how happy your Papà and I were when we held you for the first time. How loved I felt in that moment when you grabbed my finger," she says as tears form in the corner of her eyes, a smile tugging at her lips. Howard nods as he listens intently to his wife, love clearly visible on his face.

Tony can't help but tear up, too, as he felt the same way when he saw his beautiful twins for the first time. Holding them for the first time has been a highlight of his life, and he will cherish it forever.

"And now, you have your amazing children with the most loving and sweet girl to grace the face of the earth. Every day, I thank my lucky stars for how your life turned out," she says, and Tony is utterly speechless at her words.

"Seeing you grow up and become the man you are today is such a blessing for us, Tony, and I am proud of you. There's not a day that goes by in which I'm not proud to be your father and to see you take care of your Munchkins the way you do, even without Y/N by your side, shows us how devoted you are, and it truly warms our hearts. You give them everything we gave you and more, and to see that makes us the happiest, proudest parents," Howard adds.

Instead of saying anything, he gets up and walks over to their side of the table to hug them both. Howard first, and Tony cannot thank him enough for everything.

"I love you, Dad," Tony says, and Howard smiles at him before saying his I love you to his son. Then, it's time for Maria to get a hug, and she can't help but burst into tears when she holds her son. Like Howard, Tony also lets out a few tears of his escape.

"Ti amo, Mamma," Tony says after Maria pulls away. When she's calm, he bends down to kiss her cheek, which makes her beam up at her son. He might be quite a bit taller than her, but that doesn't matter. He will always be her little boy, and her love for him is indescribable.

About Stolas's mortality:

Stolas is confident enough in his invulnerability that he doesn't take assassination attempts seriously (see Loo Loo Land and the beginning of Western Energy). He's seen a prophesy about his own death. I've seen this theory floating around a bunch, and it's compelling. Stolas's job is to study the stars and find prophesies. Maybe when he was young he saw something about when and/or how he'll meet his end. Maybe he knows a lot, or maybe he just knows a little. Maybe he saw something else too- something about Blitz and/or something that makes it impossible for him to blindly follow what his family expects of him. If this is the case, I still don't think we have to worry about Stolas dying any time soon. If he dies in the series, it will be at or near the very the end. I'm confident about this because he's the main love interest, and a huge facet of Blitz's character development is overcoming issues so that they can be in a relationship. If Stolas were to die, that arc would be halted. I'm NOT WORRYING, guys.

When things get bad, he fears that he's going to unalive himself. While it's not strictly canon, there's that "Do it for egg" moment on Blitz's sinstagram that suggests that there were times when Stolas had to push himself to keep going just for Via. This could also account for the worry about dying alone. Does he see his life as only continuing for as long as he can stand it? I think this theory is a solid one too and could explain the inconsistency without any prophesies. It fits Stolas's character development- he spent thirty-five(ish) years of his life functionally living for others- his family's expectations, his daughter's wellbeing . . . and now he has to learn to live for himself. This could be very moving to explore.

There's no impending doom. He's really just aware that he's both powerful and mortal and working to reconcile that like anyone else. If Blitz has a shorter natural lifespan than him (which . . . he has to, right?) then "die alone" isn't about literally expecting to have Blitz with him when he dies if they get together- it's about getting to experience the kind of relationship he wants in order to give his life meaning. I think this train of thought would be pretty amped up after his brush with death in Western Energy. I think it fits, and I like it.

Anyway, what do you think?
