season 4 of buffy will try to convince you so hard that she should be anywhere near a wet piece of paper like riley when like. as far as normal human guys go that she couldve gone for, pedro pascal was literally right there.

I'm so down bad for Maddox and Ashlyn that my three favourite scenes are:
3. The Redlyn breakup - the chillest break up, Red supporting Ashlyn going after Maddox and the most insane storyline of Red realising he's bi because he kisses Seb
2. Just the entirety of Maddox during opening night - having an existential breakdown over your love life that you break the sound controls and then just give up on your stage manager duties and disappear (probably to help quinn)
1. The confession - a scene I want on repeat: the explanations of how afraid they are of how much they like the other then the "should we just stay friends?" Before having such a love induced make out their just completely ignore Carlos being there. (Also Maddison giving up and telling Maddox to stop coming back to her when she clearly likes Ashlyn... my baby just needed that push)
I love all my queer children but these two are the wlw so I love them just slightly more.

really really super enjoying how the dominion is slowly introduced over the course of season two
first wind we catch of the dominion is via quark when he hears of them through an attempted trade agreement with someone in the gamma quadrant - makes a ton of sense that the first thing we learn is that they are a powerful force in the economics of the gamma quadrant, and it also makes great use of both quark and zek as narrative forces
the second reference to them is when a group of three million refugees make their way through the wormhole - this was also interesting because the group had been essentially farmer serfs to a more powerful species (or maybe just political group? its unclear) on their home planet, and were freed as a side effect of that group being conquered by the dominion. this to me felt like a really interesting second thing we learn; it really underscores the way deep space nine is seeing the ripples of the dominion far far before anything concrete
and then! the third reference! is a man who survived his planet being conquered, and recreated his life via hologram on another world - this episode serving to really put a face to the harm that the dominion has been causing in the gamma quadrant
this all leads up to the season two finale where sisko, quark, nog, and jake encounter a jem'hadar soldier while on their camping trip. SUCH a multilayered approach to introducing the major antagonists of the series, a great slow burn and easily the best execution of this in any star trek in my opinion. deep space nine so perfectly transitioned from episodic to serialized and it blows my mind every time

I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 2x1
[And then Rory says, like the whole town knows he's got a thing for you, and it's like whoa.] Yeah, but she can't deny it. At this point, they've been in you know, delicate situations together where she knows he's about to ask her out. She knows. [She's still trying with that we're just friends.] Yeah, come on, come on, Well, you know I can't blame her. You know you can't. It's a small town. You gotta you know, you don't want to you know what where you eat if you know what I mean. [It was almost like Luke had been prepping for that moment because he was ready, like I'm going to be cool, I'm gonna be supportive, and I'm about to prove to you that this is not the right guy] It was, I say, a master stroke in psychology. I mean it was just what a move. And it's the first time I realized that. I mean, it really made Luke and Lorelai legit I mean, they really legitimized that that that narrative right there with that scene. I mean it was like, if you had any doubts that this is going to be a theme throughout the the entirety of the series, here it is. Look at this scene. Then, boy, everybody's anticipating Luke's reaction to this and more to the point, how she's going to tell him, and oh man, wow, what a great scene. It was perfect...Now, I remember shooting that scene and enjoying that scene so much to do because he was in a in a rare occasion, not uptight and not irritated, and he was cool as a cucumber. And you saw a different side of Luke who was just like kind of kind of playing a role there to to get under her skin a little bit because he knew that was his only chance... It's one of the few times I've ever kind of enjoyed watching myself in a scene. I get it, I would too, because it was because it was, like, you know, I was in command, and it was just like I wasn't reactive, and I was just like kind of kind of pushing the narrative there. And and she was the one that was flummixed. And isn't she wonderful as the flummixed person. I mean just had no idea what was going on, and it was just the great reads on her face. It was just fantastic. I love that scene. -Scott
