Howl's moving castle movie did a lot of things differently, but I think I should point out that Howl had full on cool as hell wizard spells/battles in the book, that, in my humble opinion, beat the whole bird war thing

I mean:

Howl’s arms moved, heavily, as if he was lifting a large weight, until they were raised high above his head. He shouted out a strange word, which was half hidden in a crack of sudden thunder. And the scarecrow went soaring away.

Sophie and Michael looked too, and found a huge cloud boiling and twisting just above the chimney tops. It was black and rotating on itself violently. White flashes that were not quite like light stabbed through the murk of it. But almost as soon as Michael and Sophie arrived, the clot of magic took on the shape of a misty bundle of fighting snakes. Then it tore in two with a noise like an enormous cat fight. One part sped yowling across the roofs and out to sea, and the second went screaming after it.

A ball of pale fire rolled lazily up in the distance. It must have been enormous. The bang that went with it only reached the watchers when the fireball had become a spreading tower of smoke. The line of people all winced at the blunt thunder of it. They watched the smoke spread until it became part of the mist on the marshes. They went on watching after that. But there was simply peace and silence. The wind rattled the marsh weeds, and birds began to dare to cry again.

Howl only needed to take one look. He stood up in a hurry. He held out one hand and spoke a sentence of those words that lost themselves in claps of thunder. Plaster fell from the ceiling. The Witch’s old heart crumbled into black sand, and soot, and nothing.

The room turned dim. Huge, cloudy, human-looking shapes bellied up in all four corners and advanced on Sophie and Michael, howling as they came. The howls began as moaning horror, and went up to despairing brays, and then up again to screams of pain and terror. Sophie pressed her hands to her ears, but the screams pressed through her hands, louder and louder still, more horrible every second. (this is from when howl got mad abt sophie messing with his shampoos and indirectly making him ginger btw)

The left hand that was used to turn off the lights returns to it's rightful position which is somewhere on you and currently? It cups your face with the right hand that had not left its spot on the respective side, framing your face and easily drawing you in to him for another kiss.

While your kiss with Sun was eager at best and clumsy at worst, this one is far more delicate, careful. Mindful of your apparent softness as his thumbs absently press into the apples of your cheeks and gently drag downwards.

It doesn't last long, maybe half the time of the one you shared with Sun and there's a sneaking suspicion you hold that Moon took partial control into getting this ending...

But he was never going to tell you evidently as he pulls away with an appeased glint in his lidded ruby red eyes that speaks volumes of what he wont.

"So... Starbright." He begins in a purr, hovering his faceplate just over your face and you swear that typically unmoving smile becomes sharper as he continues.

"What was that on our face, hm?" Moon asks with an coy tilt of their head to the right.

Of course he'd be able to see through your ploy and you only have to think about it for two seconds at best before...

Mwuah.

You plant a playful kiss on his cheek, giggling at the the way his eyes shoot open wide like he's been shocked.

"It was me, I was on your face."

"...So you were... And we were on yours." He notes after a moment, leaning down before pressing his mouth to the crown of your head and nuzzling the spot some in an apparent kiss.

He still hasn't let go of your face and is still idly petting it. "But you're not getting out of cleaning the rest of this daycare."

"Wh- Moon!"

Your pleads fall on deaf ears as he chuckles, "The fun is over."

Just like that, the lights were back on leaving a frazzled Sun in Moon's absence and a bewildered you as your eyes adjust to the sudden brightness.

the musicalification of les mis has done irreparable damage to that work's legacy. not because I think it's bad or anything but because many people will never experience the epic highs and lows of that book. you will simultaneously read one of the greatest stories ever and also a deep, multiple chapters long commentary about the battle of waterloo that's only connected to the plot in the last 3 lines of the whole digression. you will find yourself frantically reading the final part of the book,and then one of the most intense scenes is interrupted because Hugo wants to talk about the sewers.the paris sewers.for multiple pages.also the book starts with a long ass story about a french nobleman escaping from france and becoming a bishop.for 50 pages.unmatched reading experience

Personally I will NEVER get behind Marinette not telling Chat SHIT.

Like..at first it made sense but it keeps fucking happening and she needs to learn the same lesson of maybe dont keep important info from your PARTNER cuz thats a shitty thing to do??

And ESPECIALLY if that info involves his damn father. You cant say you care about someone and then coddle them and think for them, thats a shit thing to do to assume you know how theyll react and then never give them a chance to do so?? It puts Marinette in a very silly light and she should know by now Chat hates being excluded from important info!! Its them against the world.

But no its HER that fights the main battle, its HER that decides to give Gabriel his stupid damn wish for??? What reason?? She decides to give him a second chance he doesnt deserve?? (Despite Chloe and Lila repeatedly being mentioned to not deserve a second chance, but nah, this terrorist grown man deserves a second chance cuz his ridiculous wife did something stupid) and SHE DOESNT TELL ADRIEN/CHAT WHO HIS FATHER WAS, DOESNT TELL HIM HES A SENTI?

Thats not a good choice!! Itd be cool if this is used as a character flaw and its used to point out that Marinette is wrong to even think this!!
