hi i hope everyone has been enjoying my rush of always sunny posts at 1 am. but anyway. something that drives me a bit insane (good) in the new season is that the gang gets cursed has an accidentally accurate depiction of aphasia???? like dennis’ entire section reminded me so strongly of my own experience with aphasia, from the way he forgot/confused words to the frustration at not being able to say what he meant to. i can say almost certainly that this wasn’t their intention, but it felt comforting to see it in the first place, and for it to be something that wasn’t mentioned very often in the grand scheme of the episode (at least compared to everyone else’s “curses”)

My doctor and I were having the typical “sexual partner” discussion and I was of course stumbling and trying to move past giving poorly constructed answers. She took a beat and asked me if I identified as asexual. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so validated in my life. Nobody has ever mentioned asexuality to me first before. Never.

I was of course baffled, but so incredibly relieved. Wasn’t even an option on the medical records, just something she knew about and cared to ask me. It felt really good to be recognized.
