Y/n wanted to show off what they hunted with their friends, but the corpse too heavy to carry, so kid just goes to their home, walks up to their dad and tells him that they have gift for him but its outside. They grab his hand and lead him outside, he didnt expect few young yautjas poking dead xenomorph in his backyard for sure. He yells that they should stay away and he pulls put his weapon. He has so many questions all starting with "why", "how" and "when"???

After making sure that the thing is dead and his child didnt suffer any wounds he turns to other pups and starts scolding them, how dumb they are to bring a human pup on a hunt?? Dont they know how dangerous it is.

He would probably yell at them forever if not y/n stepping in and trying to explain that y/n was acually attacked and pups helped, yautjas wanted only good. He kinda didn't expect that, you? His own kid? Stepping in and protecting other people from him? He should be the one viewed as the one whos right and the one you always go for advice! So yeah he didnt take that well. Of course he tried to keep cool around those young hunters but o my god after they went away? Omg expect a lot of offended and angry dad behaviour, he gives them silent treatment for few days or is just simply passive agressive

After all y/n just wanted to feel like rest of their friends. And ironically enough the only one treating y/n like human is her own dad

TADC cast comforting the reader!

i know i said i have a character limit (and technically ive already broken it for the creepypasta version of this post and similar posts in this category) buuuuuut admins personal writing gets to twist the rules a little bit/j/lh and also i dont want to make multiple posts for this prompt soooooooooo writing this while im waiting to make my silly money on a roblox tycoon yall know how it is :3 uuuuuuh might have more typos than usual simply because that wave of sleepiness is hitting but also i wanna finish my tycoon so NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER WHAT

CAINE:

i think he might try too hard in trying to get you to feel better. likely overwhelms you but he doesnt have ill intent (though that doesnt change much, youre still overwhelmed) so you might have to be firm in having him reel things back to a level that works for you. i think he would ask you whats wrong, as well as get anything he thinks he would help you feel better (drinks, blankets... hell before you can process anything hes probably got you buried in loads of things)... hes got the spirit but his intensity is... well intense.. torn between him being a decent listener because on one hand i can see him being hooked on every word you say and talking over you in an attempt to find a solution right then and there.... 6/10 i love caine but i get overwhelmed/overstimulated easily

POMNI:

does not know what to do when someone around her it upset, much less crying... i think she would put on this really weird... awkward... forced smile to try to lessen the tension in the air (failing at it, mind you) and try to pat your back... asks if you want to talk about it... a really good listener, actually. a better listener than a comforter, her solutions are so-so, they're what you expect from someone who doesnt want to accidentally overstep but nonetheless still cares about how you feel. at least you can count on her being totally no judgement, too... lets you talk to her for as long as you need, giving a nod and affirmation that she is in fact listening 8/10

RAGATHA:

very similar to pomni in regards to being a great listener, but i think ragatha would also be a great comforter as well as solution giver! lets you come into her room, gives you one of her nicer blankets to curl under while she lets you unload onto her. if someone is being mean to you or something is frustrating you, ragatha offers to give you a hand to find a solution to make things easier for you. offers to confront the person for you, though she does vaguely urge for you to build yourself up to try to speak up for yourself in the future. of course, if you ever need anyone ragatha is going to be there for you but she would also love to see you stand up for yourself. builds you up, probably gives peps talks! 8.5/10

JAX:

more often than not its going to look like hes disinterested or flat out not listening... which if it were just about anyone else that might really be the case.. buuuuuut what if you were one of his friends, or perhaps a partner? i think he would at least throw in a yeah.. which i think for how i typically write jax means something. one of those "if he didnt actually care he wouldnt be responding at all" and yeah sure its the bare minimum... i think every now and then he might just say screw it and throw his act out the window start shit talking... usually if theres someone to shit talk, you know if someone has made you upset or something... i think he would make them a target for his pranks... usually tries to play everything off as something light or unimportant but as long as its you, he is listening and he is going to at least make an attempt to do something about it... just dont bring it up 4/10 because personally it would make me feel worse shrugs

KINGER:

well i dont know how dad/energy having people can be comforting because my dad is emotionally distant/lh but i think he would let you come into his pillow fort... or if you dont want to be in a space so small he would let you come into his room, or he might take you out on a walk around the grounds. i think he would be more of a listener than anything else, nodding and humming to let you know hes listening. when theres pauses in your speaking he tries to offer some advice which can be pretty hit or miss. i think he would give you a hug, if you asked for one... if you want a distraction he will launch into a ramble about insects and other things! trails off to ask how youre doing every now and then, usually makes him lose his spot in the previous conversation thus starting a new one... will talk for hours 7/10 but im biased for kinger

ZOOBLE:

distant but not in the way jax is, zooble just has trouble expressing some of their emotions. jax just doesnt like showing any care or vulnerability. but zooble might let you stay in their room if youre crying or otherwise outwardly distressed. might let you sink down into one of their bean bag chairs... kind of just opens up a vent session with asking if you want to talk shit, or to just get angry. i think they can deal with someone being angry and irritated than a crying person because at least then they can apply their own irritation for it and put themselves in the other persons shoes. really you two just bounce and build each other in this scenario, kind of just letting off steam that should have been released far sooner... i dont know about you guys but its refreshing 8/10

GANGLE:

might get upset with you if youre really upset.. or maybe upset for you? i think she might be able to feel a lot for those she cares about deeply, so while it might look like shes trying to hijack the moment for herself, shes just crying FOR you.. lets you use her art supplies to make vents or to simply scribble. another big listener, i think she would try to give advice but... given that gangle herself has no spine (figuratively and literally) i think its... not the best advice... like the kind of stuff you try to affirm to yourself to get through a hard day, usually those affirmations.... dont work...but hey theres an effort! i mean at least she makes sure you feel heard and listened to, which is at least a little better than jax soooooo 5.5/10

hello securitywaiter nation have you thought about ness being abby’s teacher bc I HAVE

below the cut because i can't shut up ever :D

-abby does well enough in school academically but is still needs some work in the socioemotional dept

-when she starts a new school year mike is a bit worried but then she comes back home absolutely ecstatic and mike is like “okay this is good”

-she talks all about how mr. ness lets her color while he teaches and how mr. ness gave them all name tags w silly drawings (hers is a bear) etc etc

-mike is actually really happy bc most teachers have a hard time understanding abby (heck, he has a hard time understanding her) so he’s looking forward to meeting this mr. ness during back to school night

-it goes on like this for awhile, with abby raving about mr. ness and mike is just happy that his little sister seems to be doing better in school. the first time she comes home talking about these kids she hung out with at recess he practically cries

-back to school night is here and the first time mike sees this mr. ness he’s like abby u traitor you didnt tell me this man was exactly my type (he doesn’t actually tell her bc he never brings up his lovelife around her - not that he’s had much of one - but still isn’t this the type of things siblings know intrinsically)

-anyways they’re having the kids show their guardians around the classroom and their seats and everything and then mr. ness is explaining the way his class works and mike is totally paying attention. yup. he’s not distracted by those chocolate brown eyes at ALL

-so they’re waiting to do the one-on-ones with the teacher and mike crouches down next to abby and tries to be all chill “hey, abs. has mr. ness ever mentioned a partner or anything?” acting all nonchalant

-but abby sees right through him and is immediately like “he’s single! do u want me to put in good word for you?” and mikes like “NO i have no idea what ur talking about haha i just wanted to know bc it’s important to know that about ur teachers okay wait why are you smiling like that”

-(abby’s a little menace and already ships it)

-when it’s finally their turn mike is just chanting to himself “be normal. be normal. be normal” lmao

-but now that he’s sitting face to face with the teacher he notices that he has freckles and every chance he had at playing it cool goes out the window

-ness is telling him all about how well abby is doing in class and if there was anything he could do to make it easier for her in the classroom and abby’s just sitting there looking at mike internally screaming with a smile

-so she turns to her teacher and is like “you should get mike’s number just in case something comes up. he’ll probably think of some things later since he’s been taking care of me alone for awhile” (bc u know when kids do that things where they kinda trauma dump at the most random moments lmao)

-and ness at first refuses and is like “im sure email works just fine!” and abby’s like WHYY is he not just taking the bait and then she has like a lightbulb moment

-bc ness probably assumes like everyone else that mike is a single father and abby’s his daughter and abby’s like oh no how do i make this work

-so she goes full anya mode (for my spy x family watchers) and is like “im sure mike would appreciate having your number on hand! he’s a very protective older brother you see. taking care of his little sister must be hard. i’m sure being a big brother like him is hard so it’d be for his peace of mind. did i mention he’s my older brother”

-and ness also has a little bit of a crush already forming so he doesn’t catch the obvious set up and is instead distracted by the fact that the handsome guy in front of him is in fact NOT a single father so maybe he does have a chance wowow

-yup so they exchange numbers andddddd ill come back to this later i really need coffee

"what is going on?" you asked

"where is this coming from?" you questioned

"its been a thing for a while now but I think we're both tired of waiting" ethan stated and you nodded. you loved them both, sure one of them more then the other and you loved one of them in the friend way and the other in the other way.

"can we still be friends?" he asked

You were on your way to potions, and losing track of time caused you to full-on sprint to the class. This isn't bad considering the Slytherin common room isn't too far away from the potions classroom -- if you were late for astronomy it would be a completely different story.

You turn the corner and make contact full force into someone's back, both of you tumbling to the ground.

"Bloody hell!" You exclaim rolling off the person you quite literally swept off their feet, "Black?"

Sirius groans and turns over to look at who knocked him down, and his breath catches in his throat. Staring at you, you push your h/c hair out of your face trying to give the boy a cheeky grin.

"Well ten points to Slytherin!" Sirius gives you a dopey grin which causes you to cock your head at him, confused.

"Pardon?" You ask before realizing why you were in such a such before, "Oh my Godric, I am going to be late for class. I will see you later Black!" You scramble to your feet, trying to pull yourself together before taking off to Slughorn's classroom once again.

"Yea uh, I'll see you later --?" Sirius realizes he doesn't know your name.

"Y/n Y/l/n!" You yell back smiling.

"Y/n, interesting." Sirius is still sitting on his arse, running through all the classes he has had with Slytherin trying to remember you. The fact that he can't think of any instance has him confused. Surely someone as beautiful as you he would have noticed.

'What class does she have right now?' He thinks to himself before he realizes that he too, needed to get to potions, "Shite!"

You arrive at class right on time, taking your seat to the far left of the classroom, breathing heavily. You weren't sure if it was because of the sprinting or perhaps the fact you literally tackled Sirius Black, one of the most handsome blokes you have ever seen.

"Alright class, today-" Slughorn is interrupted by the classroom door bursting open by none other than Sirius Black himself.

"Sorry I am late professor, I decided to kiss the corridor floors on my way here," Sirius scans the room until he locks eyes with you, sending you a wink.

"Very well Mr. Black, as I was saying I have decided to rearrange your partners in this class to help with toning down the distractions from certain individuals," Slughorn sends Sirius and the other Marauders a look before instructing everyone to stand up.

In pairs of two names are called with instructions on where to sit, you are broke out of thought when you hear your name.

"Miss Y/l/n, and Mr. Black, you two will sit over here," Slughorn gestures to a table, red rises to your face as you see the smug grin Sirius is wearing.

"Well if I didn't know any better Miss. Y/n, I would say that Merlin wants us to get to know each other," Sirius pulls a chair out for you and pushes it in when you sit down.

"Or maybe it is just a coincidence?" You suggest trying to hide your face which is now more than a light blush, you know you look like a tomato.

"Well princess, I don't believe in coincidences," Sirius winks at you before directing all his attention to Slughorn. This boy would be the death of you, and he hasn't even done anything to you.

Sirius enjoyed watching how red your face got when he talked to you, something about how shy you were around him made his heart flutter. He may not have known who you were a few weeks ago, but now you are all that crosses his mind.

"Oi, y/n/n, slow down love!" You stop in your tracks to turn around and face none other than Sirius Black.

"Y/n/n? Since when do you call me that," You ask and Sirius shrugs, and smirks when he notices the blush rising to your face once again.

"Since I decided to I guess, you are headed to Astronomy right?" He questions, even though he bantered one of your fellow housemates for the details of your schedule.

"Uh, yea I am," You answer, looking at the boy confused.

"Great, I have a free period I will walk you," Sirius grabs the bag off your shoulder and swings it over his own.

You stare at the boy as he starts walking toward the Astronomy Tower, "Y/n/n? You coming? I don't want you to have to run to class and knock another bloke off his feet, then I won't feel so special." Sirius winks at you causing you to scoff.

"Oh shove off Black, if I didn't know any better I would say that me knocking you down was the highlight of your life," You smile at the boy, something he found himself enjoying. The way your eyes crinkled and the dimples appeared made his heart swoon.

"Oooo, a spicy one, another ten points to Slytherin," You roll your eyes at the boys antics before joining him on the adventure to the astronomy tower.

The past few weeks you have found yourself accompanied by Sirius Black a majority of the time, except for at meals, but every other time he was by your side. The other Marauders were confused by his new behavior but decided not to banter with the boy about it. You were also confused, the moment he knew your name it was as if he was completely enamored by you. Not that you minded, Sirius wanting to know everything about you made you feel special.

There were a few times when the two of you were in the library studying quietly, something you use to do alone, and another girl would approach trying to start a conversation but he would shut it down.

"Can't you see I am busy?" He would say to them without breaking eye contact with you, winking. It was no secret he was a womanizer, but everyone was shocked when he seemed to change over night.

Professors even began to notice, y/n the quiet Slytherin accompanied by Sirius Black, one of the famous Gryffindor Marauders, an unlikely pair but somehow made sense.

Over time you became comfortable around Sirius, and he loved when you would talk about something you were passionate about. You would talk animatedly with your hands and argue your point even if there was no opposing opinion. It was something that made him smile, and when you noticed you were rambling you would stop.

"What?" You ask chuckling, trying to use your hair to shield your reddening cheeks from the boy.

"Nothing," Sirius says as he reaches over the table to push your hair behind your ears, he notices your face red again, "Another ten points to Slytherin."

You slap his hand away sending him a knee-weakening smile, Sirius told himself he would do anything in the world to keep that smile permanently painted on your face.

You were sitting in the Slytherin common room, your watch read 3:23 am, you huffed closing your book in defeat. You were trying to study for your upcoming Transfiguration exam, even though you were confident you still wanted to study.

As you stare at the ceiling, you hear the portrait hole open. You snap your head over to see who else is up at this ungodly hour.

"Sirius?" The boy freezes mid-step, looking over at you. He wore plaid pajama pants with a Gryffindor quidditch shirt.

"Bloody hell, y/n/n. You scared the shite out of me," He chuckles before walking over to you and sits across from you with his legs folded in front of him, mirroring you.

"What are you doing here?" You set the Transfiguration book in your lap.

"Well, I knew you would be awake, trying to cram more information into that beautifully brilliant brain of yours," Sirius grabs the book and disregards it to the table beside you both.

"Sirius! I need to study!" You try to reach across the boy who just pushes the book farther away from your reach.

"Y/n/n, you are one of the smartest witches, you do not need to study!" Sirius laughs at your futile attempts to get the book.

With determination, you lunge for the book only for Sirius to grab it and put it between his back and the arm of the couch. Without thinking you crawl into Sirius lap trying to reach behind him, who with the new position forgot the book completely.

Once you grab the book you put it between you two smirking at the boy, who now wore a small smirk and eyes that were filled with an emotion you didn't recognize.

You realize you are sitting in his lap, "Merlin, Sirius I am so sorry. I didn't mean to - I was just -" You attempt to crawl off of his lap, but his hands find your waist to keep you put.

Your e/c eyes lock with his, and the red starts rushing to your face once again. Sirius moves on hand to your cheek while the other is still on your hip, "You look so bloody beautiful when you blush."

The grip on your book tightens, your heart beating so fast. Sirius smiles before dropping his hand from your face to the book. He gently takes the book from your grasp before placing both his hands on your face.

takes your hands. come on this journey with me. for reference i consider kiryu to be exclusively gay but i feel like a lot of this except one bit also applies when reading him through a bisexual lens also <3 come listen to me talk about the way kiryu touches himself and how it changes throughout his life <3

i think when he was in his 20s he was a hedonist, far less so than nishiki but still, basically a frat boy, a horny 20 yr old. i dont imagine him having any actual sex partners during this time, in fact i think he's a virgin well into his middle age at Least. so he jacked off a lot. usually into his fist. i can see him making a fleshlight with 2 wet sponges and a cup. sometimes he got brave and touched his ass but felt so ashamed of it the days after he would be jumpy around nishiki and any other yakuza. (real yakuza cant like men...camera zooms in on kashiwagi) tldr hes so closeted and has so much internal homophobia it leeches into how he pleasures himself and knowing he might like sex in "unorthodox" ways is frightening in ways he doesnt super understand. ofc over the events of 0 he has bigger things to worry about but 0 is when i think kiryu's attraction to men comes to the forefront, through tachibana. (and also pocket circuit fighter.)

then, he goes to jail for 10 years. i think this period severely stunts him, because we know kiryu loves to just compartmentalize and shove all of the scary feelings down so he can just keep ignoring them, and being an invisible inmate makes that so much easier. any self pleasure he does during and immediately after this time is quick, utilitarian. dry and chafing just getting it over with, you know? any emotion attached to the act is a distant staticky buzz in the back of his mind.

of course im a kazumaji truther so during yakuza 1/kiwami, majima introduces to him a new level of sexual frustration that leads to him exploring pain and masochism by himself. majima doesnt *give* him this fetish, so much as he just opened the locked door to it. he digs his fingers into the cuts and bruises majima leaves on him and turns the shower water up until its scalding because if he didnt do this in the shower he'd pass out after with dried cum on himself. i think his feelings toward majima during this time are frightening spaghetti to him - something im sure irritates majima to no end, majima in my mind is far more assured of himself and who he is and his own sexuality and attraction to other men - and i dont think that kiryu does much in the way of exploration around this time aside from the odd burst of confidence (we were robbed by the banana bar substory.) he might try to touch his ass again here and there but theres still that twist of shame that he cant quite shake. i dont know when exactly i hc him entering a relationship with majima, if at All (i love the angst), but if he is having sex with majima at this time i think that relationship kicks his Growth into overdrive and he overcomes those hurdles a lot easier.

shame, i think, holds kiryu back a lot, because if he is this way, he isnt what is expected of him. if that makes sense. kiryu is supposed to shoulder it all alone and keep the tojo clan from sinking and there isnt room in that power fantasy for taking it up the ass and finding comfort in another mans arms, because this series is rife with toxic masculinity and commentary on it here and there.

on theme with burying his feelings and how peoples expectations of him affect him, kiryu in 2/kiwami 2 is DEEPLY SUICIDAL. like the whole game. if you havent noticed. kiwami 2 is one of my least favorite games of the series so this may color my judgment here a little. i think both kiryu and kaoru were experiencing comphet as their relationship progressed, especially the weird makeout next to her brothers corpse. you do weird things under stress, adrenaline, and trauma, and thats what i chalk this part of the game up to. i dont see him engaging in much, if any, self loving around this time period because of his severe depression, ptsd, and deep desire to end it all. if he does its in the "i might as well" way, or just to make time pass. he might even engage in it in a compulsory way, because he knows he'll feel a little better by the end bc orgasming does that, but its literally just for that purpose, not to Feel Good in a sexual way. just to hurry up and crank one out in the shower so he can get it together enough to get haruka to school.

kiryu has growing to do when he starts raising children and does his best to let go of any predjudices he has, but i think he still struggles with his own attraction to men. he never ever would teach his kids anything but to be kind, even if they find something odd. but he cant afford that kindness to himself. when i was in elementary school, i came home one day and told my mom "today i learned from my friend that gay is when boys like boys and that lesbian is when girls like girls :)" and then...that was that. she was like. "ah. okay... who said that to you? i see. did he say anything else about it?" and she didnt really push me to one conclusion about those facts. thats kind of how i see kiryu navigating some of these conversations. he'd steer them toward the kind option, if they needed it, but sometimes "yeah thats right. gay men are men who like men. lesbians are women who like women." is all you need, the confirmation that its real, and the neutrality that means yeah its fine.

and i think haruka is the most perceptive of kiryu bc of how they have grown together so like She Knows. if anyone puts the pieces together besides majima itd have to be her. and i think the conversation they one day (probably not around 3-era, unsure where i'd place this) have kind of also touches on harukas own bisexuality bc nothing abt what she did w that one girl she was friends with in 5 was hetero. 2 me. i wish I could be more coherent about this scene in my head, but i feel like its a conversation where a lot remains unsaid but is innately understood. they dance around the topic because saying it outright teeters on too much, but they know what theyre talking about. the love between them is unconditional.

anyway he doesnt have much time to masturbate when running the orphanage, but because he's busy with chores and taking care of a bunch of kids who he loves. plus thin walls. but hes gentler with himself when he does. maybe he starts foraying into men strictly in pornography, he's got magazines under the futon or looks up crusty jpegs on his phone or something. he lets go of some of the shame because he's found somewhere else where it feels right for him to be. he is so happy in okinawa it drives me crazy.

You’re Makima’s sibling after all so he suppose the charming personality carries on the family. His mind and feet stop at its track when he see’s the devil. It was white and looked as if it’s been mashed. Luckily it looked about the average size of weak devil as Aki draws his sword. “Ewww it’s looking at us!” Denji stuck his tongue out in disgust as the mutiple eyes spotted the devil hunters. Immediately it cries out as it spits out some type of acidic liquid from what looks like to be its mouth. Dissolving whatever that was there before it’s range and aim was fast and quick. When you went over to try attacking the devil with the given weapon you have which was an axe that from what denji told you he use to use. You grip onto it tightly as Denji distracted the devil and you were able to slice of a chunk of it. Beginners luck I suppose you thought but that was cut short when the acid squirted to your direction as you dodged it, running away as you kept on slicing as much as you could But then unfortunate luck has it your hand slipped and the axe was sent flying with it being disintegrated by the acid. You stumble back from the force of your arm swinging the axe as you try getting back up. Your body starts to feel weak in the current moment as you managed to get up but started feeling you feet slip on the ground. You didn’t even notice it but the acid was spitting to your direction. But before you could react Aki ran towards you and pushed you over, grazed with a burn mark on his shoulder with his suit jacket getting melted. The two of you fell to the ground. “You ok?” Aki ask with his chest heaving from the adrenaline. Sweat dripping from his forehead as he looks down at you. From this angle he looked attractive. Maybe its the way his hair strands fell over his face, maybe it’s the fact he’s on top of you or even its just him saving you alone that made your heart pound. “Y..Yeah I’m ok” You just stared but not before Aki gets back up to fight the devil. As Aki could only managed to slice off some of its parts. Denji in return transforming into his devil form and in all of it’s glory you watched as the devil starts attacking. Denji gets hit tho with the acid starting to melt off his blade, But Aki was dealing with it worse as the more he cuts up the devil the more of it’s smaller pieces form into new ones. Even when he called for Kon, watching as the fox ate it but before spitting it back up with blood and acid coming from its mouth. For something so weak it must be holding tons of strength. Aki was about to go back but you placed and hand on his shoulder. “Let me do it” You looked over at him as Aki brows furrowed. “You’re gonna get hurt, I’m not allowing that”. You sigh but then walk pass Aki who started to protest. “Get back here! If you get hurt then I’ll-” He didn’t get to finished but with the devil contract you have you point to the devil. Closing one eye you aim you finger at the devil before making a snapping motion and instantly the devil gets sliced into multiple pieces. Though seeing how it kept multiplying into more smaller versions of the devil Aki draws his Katana. “(Y/N) I don’t think thats gonna work” You didn’t say anything though you just watched as this invisible blade cuts through the devils until whatever’s left of it is dead. The amount of blood and pieces flew everywhere as the devil’s ability stopped. “That should take care of it” Unlike Makima, Aki was never allowed to see Makima’s abilities due to her contract. Denji was in awwh, though Aki’s admiration to your abilities was not visible Denji’s certainly was as the boy started getting all giggly as he starts talking about how cool you were. “Mash potato devil!” You were cheery enough to report the type of devil you fought. “How odd, well what’d you think of the job? Considering to join?” She tilted her head as you went on. “As long as im part of Mr. Hayakawa’s team then im sold! It was so cool watching him fight that devil!” Aki’s face was turning red the more you were gushing over him. Even if Denji was getting a bit jealous of the praise you were giving Aki Makima was happy enough to see you smile. “Ah then, I’ll allow it. I trust that Aki did well when looking after you?” “He really did gave it his all” You glanced at him with a sweet smile. So very sweet his throat tightened a bit as he looked away. “I’m only doing my part” He of course says otherwise, ever the humble Hayakawa. “He saved me, I could’ve been dead if it wasn’t from him” The flow of praise never left your mouth as you kept on fueling more and more of his ego. “Well aren’t you a hero, Hayakawa?” Makima teases as she watches Aki clear his throat. He was mumbling something in-cohesive but whatever it might be you just giggled at him. Maybe this time he doesn’t mind adding in another member to his team.

rambling more abt nightcord and their theme because i just NEED to get it out if my system

i think nightcord is such beautifully constructed with its theme of healing because every character has someone specific helping them out most within the unit

idk how to explain it in general terms but basically

kanade struggles with overworking and not taking proper care of herself, her main help with this comes from mizuki! sure, others help out too but mizuki is the one who points out those self destructive behaviours the most [or at least from ehat i remeber] and this dynamic is so so beautifully shown specifically in carnation recollection

mizuki is the one telling kanade to take a break, but kanade is set on making another song for mafuyu despite being absolutely stuck. i think mizuki is the most clever out of the 4 specifically because of this event, since they knew kanade wont give up on it ever and decided to use a different approach to give her the deserved break and would also help her out in this situation. kanade would never have some time off if it wasnt for mizuki. thats how mizuki cares for her, by "tricking" her into taking one while also getting to spend nice time together and end up reminiscing.

this is such an important story because thanks to mizuki, a part of kanade got to heal.

mafuyu very obviously is mostly helped by kanade, who tries her very best and gives it literally her all to help mafuyu find herself, but she always gives mafuyu space when she needs it as well. i think since this one is most obvious i dont have to dwell on it too much but the love and care kanade has for mafuyu makes me soooo fucking insane like omg. kanade is the whole reason mafuyu even tries. shes the sole reason why mafuyu could get where she is now and didnt give up.

ena is a bit tricky, but surprisingly i think her helper is... mafuyu. i have honestly no clue how to explain what i mean at all, but seeing someone with so much talent and the "perfect" life be completely empty was so important to enas character. mafuyu makes painfully slow progress on her situation yet ena notices it, and she might not fully realize it but its helping ena take things easier with her art as well, which i think is shown very well in hope will someday go beyond the morning. mafuyu makes just a slightly different expression but ena still notices it, paralleled by enas art teacher noticing enas intent and emotion behind her art project. despite so many mistakes in the work on a technical level, it had soul. not to mention mafuyu indirectly helps ena be more understanding of others, which is very obvious when you compare how she was with mafuyu at first vs their current dynamic. mafuyu doesnt even know it but she inspires ena so so much not only in her art but to be better as a person.

and for mizuki, its also very obvious with main help coming from ena. pretty much every mizuki focus [<- exaggeration warning] will have ena trying her best to help mizuki out, and thanks to enas growth she can understand mizuki better and better and know how to deal with their issue. she thinks she needs to know the secret to know mizuki, but she learns that its not actually important, and she wants to show mizuki that as well. she constantly shows mizuki support and care weather they are willing to tell their secret or not, and in her own way wants to reassure mizuki that no matter what she wants to be there for them. ena helps mizuki so much that they even finally consider telling ena their secret, after like a year in canon if not longer!! which is such a huge deal because mizuki was convinced that telling ena someday they will tell what it is was completely a lie. they never had any intention to actually say what it is. but they grew so much and feel so safe around ena that the fact they even CONSIDERED IT implies so much healing, growth and trust. it makes me SOB. i am INSANE about mizuena. ena loves them SO MUCH its just so JSHSHDHYSHEIRUDHXHJSNB

okay i did some snooping for @highball66 (here's his post: https://www.tumblr.com/highball66/747320411462778880/do-you-think-that-the-rebecca-easter-egg-was-more?source=share) and then it just turned into me being obsessed with the differences and now we have this. what were we talking about originally? the photo of rebecca and sexism in resident evil? anyways...

so i went through the s.t.a.r.s office in both OG2 and remake. this footage is from the ps1 version (it's totalllly not emulated) (i own the gamecube version but this was easier to capture footage on). idk why there isn't any sound, i wanted the lovely music in the back while i bonked myself into desks but its whatever. i also looked through the desk and didnt get the rebecca photo? it might not happen when claire is in the room with you, which is kinda funny. i mean yeah if i found a kind of sus photo of some girl in some dudes desk i would probably not take it out of the desk and show it to the random woman i'd just met.

here's the screenshots of all the desks. the first one i'm guessing is barry's. i totally misremembered it as chris' desk because i thought the comment leon makes about the n.r.a was funny (i only know what that is because of trixie mattel, go figure). the second one is chris' for sure. i like leon's comment about it being messy, it's funny. the third one is (i'm guessing) jill's. there's a picture of a dude on her desk that leon assumes is her boyfriend, and there is also her blue hat/berret (i think it's hers?) that i zoomed in on. the fourth desk is messy, and inspecting it doesn't give us any comments, but inspecting the boxes and the health kit satchel thing gives us the comment about leon guessing it to belong to a rookie, so i feel like it's obviously rebecca's. it looks like her stuff is all in boxes still, so im guessing that another bravo/alpha member is already at that desk and they're gonna share it (i have no clue who the desk belongs to tho).

i'm gonna upload the video of me roaming around the s.t.a.r.s. office in remake separate to this one since i can only upload one video per post. but basically, my guess is that alpha and bravo shared desks but just had different shifts. in remake, you can see that the desks are kind of split into two parts, so it seems like everyone had their own desk but they were joined. i couldn't find any hints as to who our alpha members bravo counterparts were. here's a forum talking about it that i read some of before doing my own search: https://residentevil.org/threads/the-stars-office-is-missing-something.12312/

ohmigod does streamer au mean that Knives is like. Vash's twin that visits his apartment to ensure Vash is okay (as a disabled person myself who lives alone, i get weekly visits from my mom and brother lmao) and comes in with groceries, leaves with trash, comes over to drive Vash to his doctor appointments, and tells Vash to get a real job??

does the chat see Knives as like. a cryptid. and the chat spams with acknowledgement as Knives moves about in the background and Vash goes "Chat says hi! ...Knives?! Did you hear mE?! CHAT SAYS HI!!" and he shouts back "I heard you both times, but I'm not acknowledging your no-life-having enablers!" or some shit

Knives feels like he has a trenchcoat and briefcase and has some high-up position like, idk, i feel like hed be an enviromental lawyer but also a corporate lawyer yet he also feels like he could be a radio/podcast celebrity with Bad Takes (i might just be describing Andrew Tate or somebody whoops) and a reputation for being shitty to his fans. like i could Knives being either objective scum with a cult following. or being like a eco-friendly protestor who put a politician's house on fire but hasnt been caught bc he wore one of those face-masks that distorts pictures and made sure not to leave any finger-prints. maybe he's something in-between, like he supports PETA, i dunno. or maybe he and Vash are actually estranged

im really curious how you would characterize Knives in this au, theres definitely a lot to go with considering the vast differences in his 1998, 2023, and manga variations (im partial to 2023 myself, but manga is a close second and 1998 is in the dust for me personally) since his genocide nonsense doesn't have a 1-for-1 translation in a modern world. the only act of Knives that i can think of that would track is 2023!Knives blaming himself for Vash's amputation (as opposed to other variations, if i remember right, where Knives did it to punish Vash, i liked that they went with a "Knives did it bc he loves Vash and didnt see another way to save his brother" direction instead) bc maybe the amputation happened in an accident that Knives blames himself for Vash being a victim in. but yeah, so many variations

also Rem. but Rem is a bit easier because there's always the "Well, Rem is still dead" option mixed with "She was our foster mom" (oh, maybe Knives works in the Social Services) whereas Knives, again, has all these variations

(anyways, i have a Part 2 to this that's not related to me asking questions about your streamer au, but rather me just saying a hc i have for Vash+Knives Modern AU that is very biased to my own personal history and therefore is irrelevant to your streamer au, so do hold up briefly, i do wanna ramble about that bc rambling about Trigun Modern AUs is fun)

I think I can tell you guys some about the ideas I had in mind without spoiling too much!

So I've bounced it around a bit in my head, and I think I've come up with something that works for this AU in particular. Rem was in fact their foster mom, she adopted them both as babies. While Nai was a pretty normal kid growing up, a bit cynical and intelligent for his age but nothing concerning, Vash was the type of kid who got sick really often. Like, immunodeficient, multiple hospitalizations sick. I was thinking something like CVID, which makes it so you're way more susceptible to getting respiratory and lung infections. He was a happy kid, but in and out of the hospital a lot.

In late middle school he had a really bad reaction, and while rushing him to the hospital Rem got in a car accident that cost her her life and Vash his left arm. Vash feels like he's the whole reason the accident even happened in the first place, while Nai blames himself for Vash being even worse off because maybe if he'd just been able to keep calm Rem wouldn't have been so distracted. There's also a fair bit of survivor's guilt in him, being the only one who got out of the wreck generally unscathed.

So he's kind of taken himself up as his brother's keeper, balancing his own post-graduate work life with checking in on Vash, bringing him to appointments, and just generally making sure he doesn't do anything stupid. He's a conservation biology major and a huge ecology nut, who often says (in a deadpan tone that Vash thinks is a joke) that the planet would probably be better off if all the humans on itwere wiped out.

Nai has complicated feelings about Vash's streamer lifestyle. On one hand he's not as deeply, deeply depressed as he was in early high school, most days it being a chore for Nai to even get him to eat or drink. On the other hand, he thinks that a job like this isn't stable enough for Vash, that he could be doing more with his fantastic intelligence, and that Vash cares way too much about what random strangers on the internet think about him. It's the sparking point for many arguments, because as much as they love and care about each other, they just don't see the world from each other's viewpoints.

(He'd also never say it, but Nai is actually very grateful that Vash has Nicholas as a roommate. As much as he despises the guy, at least there's someone around to make sure Vash is eating real food and actually going outside when Nai isn't there to check on him.)

i let this thought go tonight and it will never see the light of the moon ever again so here goes every thought in my mind abt the poppy war trilogy. mind you, a lot of this is just nonsensical dabble and incoherent babbling bc i cant ever form coherent thoughts but whatever.

id pay big money and wage a thousand wars to go back in time and yank every material object out of my hand and out of my reach to ensure that i never even wondered abt the trilogy's existence. it's not that i regret reading them because they sucked--no, far from it. it's not that i led myself blind and didnt take the extra precautions to make sure that i was in the right mindset to read them. i knew what i was going into, what ch21 was withholding, i knew how graphic and how heavy they would be to read. i retreated to my room and poured a stupid amount of hours staring at a screen, at a bunch of words, and feeling such bizarre emotions.

that being said, i love runin. i love how bold she was and how persistent she was despite having her bones kicked inwards from quite literally every person she has let into her life. i love how she was a proper morally grey character, a heroine led astray and betrayed by her very own thoughts. i love her bc even though she was the anthropomorphic personification of a god, she was still human. at the end of the day, what killed her wasnt a higher being, it was the self. that part of her arc cemented her place in my top list of female book leads. i love rin because she was human through and through, all the sides of it, she was everything. reading her was a tough pill to swallow, but a necessary one because she is proof of how dangerous the mind can be to itself, to how dangerous humanity is to itself. and sometimes id wish i could reach into their world and pull her back to ground bc of her recklessness. i love and hate rin at the same time, never one more than the other.

i love kitay even more. never once have i faulted him, he knew what was best, a moral compass for readers really. especially after primarily reading from rin's violent and often irrational perspective, it was relieving to have a voice of reason. theres not much i can say abt him other than the fact that he is my favourite out of the trio, id see it through no matter what. yes i wish he'd said no to bonding himself to rin, to put himself on a compromise, but at the same time i'm glad that he did. kept rin grounded, gave her a sense of purpose other than vengeance, instilled her a sense of duty and obligation--to survive, not only for herself but for him as well. will always defend him no matter what, this boy is clean and he is faultless.

nezha nezha nezha. i tried for three books (and tdf) to like him, truly, but even after all those pages i still dont know how to feel about him. he was insufferable in the first book, honourable for most of the second, and downright pathetic in the third. but if i say that i hate nezha then id have to say that i hate rin as well. they were both children of war, born under humiliating circumstances and forced to take the wager of compromise, they share the same faults. its not fair of me to defend one and leave the other open, they forced the ugliness out of each other. they were tragic. i saw his betrayal from kilometres away, but anticipation did not make forgiveness easier. but i know what it feels like to be brought up as a pawn for ur own family's benefit, to be subjected to so much responsibility when you barely know the world and its wonders, feels like a push to the edge. i cant blame him for that.

in short, im devastated. ive had my tears ricochet on loop since i started the first book. i am but a hollow shell of the person i was before this book. it has altered my life (/hj) and i cant go a minute of my day without thinking abt it. it's incredibly tragic, it's flawed in its own ways but it is also three incredible pieces of literature. rfk did well, im glad i read it while at the same time hate myself for reading the entirety of the trilogy in the span of 36hrs. i dont think its once u can read almost immediately, u need to pace yourself. 5 golden stars from me nonetheless.
