what irritates me most of all about these morning people is their horribly good temper, as if they have been up for three hours and already conquered france.

I finally punched the star pattern into one of my kawaii sketchbooks; not much to see there till I stitch it up. Not sure what pattern to put on the spine of the last one. I was thinking like the outline of the unicorn emoji? 🦄
I got the paste-downs on my Belgian/criss-cross covers. Letting them dry for about a day.
Took a picture of the order of my charms for the star kawaii sketchbook.
Measured out the super for the criss-cross binding
Now I just have to fold every half-centimeter 🙄 don't have the energy for that with the remainder of this late evening.
Instead I'm going to punch the signatures for the criss-cross sketchbook.
I saw an interesting Instagram from Bep van Gasteren, a "pagoda box", but I can't describe my disappointment when she lifted the lid and it was just a simple compartment instead of, y'know, some kind of tower, pull-out situation. I'm not sure I'd ever make anything like that, myself, but who really knows?
I've been thinking really hard about how to store and display my sketchbooks. I want and need an organized way to store them. If I'm going to have them out, I want and need to make sure the cats can't wreak mischief on them.
I've been wondering about like, individual cases? But the only sketchbook that's definitely ready for something like that is sketchbook one; I'm not even sure I can, never even mind should, gesso in sketchbook two. Maybe I should just glue in my extra frames? Maybe I should give up on cramming next-to the maximum number of frames into each sketchbook? But sketchbook two looks so empty?? So I'm still thinking on it.
I really have my mind set on filling sketchbook one once and for all, and then I can stop hating working in it. So I have plenty of time to figure out how to finish out sketchbook two.
Edit to add a preview of the cover of the criss-cross sketchbook:
I was going for an aged USPS look. I could have used an aged golden thread for the inner stitching, but I wanted to lean more subtle for the inner stitching.

Kitty in a Ramen bowl ~
Someone posted a pic of their kitty in a ramen bowl on Reddit and I fell absolutely in love with the pattern. Decided to make one myself with different colors, backstitching and a few touch ups here and there.
IT’S SO CUTE!
