Not Gone. Just Taking It Easy

It’s been awhile since I posted anything, but just wanted to state I didn’t disappear! I’m just taking an extended break.

Usually after Christmas I’m feeling the burn out from stitching several gifts, and my wrists and hands need a break. This time around my break has extended a little longer partly due work, but I hope to start back up by March at the latest.

But until then... keep on snacking! 🍬

My nephew’s passed along a request from their cousin, asking if I would make him a snack size Thor. To which I said, “Of course!”

I contemplated Mjolner as a dangle attachment vs directly within the pattern vs a separate piece overlay. I’m glad I went with the third option, I feel it gives a little more to the figure as a whole.

Almost a year later, but I can finally pull this project out of the oven and call it DONE 🤣.

I absolutely 💖💖💖 Robbie and I’m especially happy with how he turned out. I decided to use a turkey stitch to make the flames and I must say *chef’s kiss*. If you haven’t watched the trailer for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, you’re missing out on some hot Ghost Rider footage.

Two distinct identities in one man: the kind-hearted Martin Li and the villainous Mister Negative. Though Li’s “good-self” is unaware of his evil persona.

This is my first double sided figure, initially I planned on just making Mister Negative, but since he was a simple design and the theme was dual persona…. It made sense to make Martin Li. Plus it was a fun challenge.

Super Snack Size! Stitchtober (2020) Day 27: Prophecy

En Sabah Nur // Apocalypse ☢️

A time traveler Rama-Tut, who would later become know as Kang the Conqueror, knew Apocalypse was destined to rule the world as the most powerful mutant that ever lived. As such, he traveled back in time to find Apocalypse as a child, raise him, and fulfill said prophecy with Mutant as the superior race. Though of course not everything goes as predicted.

I wanted to play around and see if I could make his metal arm tubes with just some thread, instead of full stitches. Which the later I feel would have looked blocky and lost to the overall design. But I was able to achieve my goal with two strands of DMC thread and some Fray check!

Well here we are again! I figured it would be a good idea to finish this project before October gets here. Needless to say I have no 2021 plans for a project calendar 😓.

I’m still contemplating adding Red Skull’s signature white teeth in the future, but I can’t decide if three full stitches or a simple back stitch line would look better.

Morrigan was the first video game sprite I designed when I started the Super Snack Size heroes. I’ve been wanting to make make her for the longest time, but kept putting it off for no reason. I love how she turned out!! By far my favorite character I’ve stitched to date. So much I turned her into a pin immediately. I remember I always picked her when playing Marvel vs Capcom because I thought she was pretty, and didn’t know what a succubus was 😂.
