that one suga/oikawa/tobio post got me thinking about what characters in haikyuu should've had a conversation and didn't

-obviously oisuga since that's what spurred this whole post on. Not (1) post match interaction? After all that set up?? Really????

-asahi and udai. Like udai really looked at all these monsters and says, yeah that samurai guy over there is the one I relate to most and I will NEVER shut up about it. They should've talked 😭😭😭😭😭

- similarly, asahi and kiryuu. Asahi deserves friends that don't bully him 24/7 and I think theyd get along and they'd be so fucking adorable, my two fave sweethearts

-tendou and suga. This is just me blatantly pushing my suga x tendou agenda

-noya and atsumu. I read like (1) ship fic and became obsessed. Mind you, I don't need their interaction to be shippy, I just think they're similar flavours of prodigy and it's ridiculous that Atsumu waxes on and on about Hinata during/after the inarizaki vs karasuno match but never brings up noya again

-shirabu and yahaba. come on, you know they'd be the funniest dynamic of all time

-kiyoko and saeko. Kiyoko deserves to talk to more girls and esp her sister in law and seeing both of them together is probably enough to make yachi faint lmfao

- Yaku and Atsumu. I just like pairing Atsumu with people that could and would kick his ass. This would be like a more hostile version of Yaku and levs canon dynamic. Yaku in general is just one of those characters that are so dynamic that they'd shine no matter who they're interacting with

-we're going back to Udai because Udai and the takeru shouldve metttttt at some point. Takeru shouldve at least gotten to get a glimpse of him in person or something. I want all my little giants to interact

- with repeat exposure, I'm convinced that Tanaka would adopt mad dog and I wanna see it happen in real time

-its a crime we don't see any of the conversations between tsukki kogane and kyotani. A CRIME. They deserve a whole spin off.

-while we're on kyotani, I also wanna see kyotani, tora and tanaka all exist in the same space for funsies.

-kei deserves a chance to just glare at udai just once while the poor guy's kinda confused and apprehensive about why tsukishima's brother hates him

-hinata and the kamomedai middle blocker that wasn't gao. Kourai's boyfriend. I'm too lazy to remember his name but it's my personal hc that Hinata actually has a really hard time in his second year trying to implement the whole training your body thing and gets locked in this miserable intensity and sachirou (pretty sure that's his or his brother's name) kinda knows what that's like so I want sachirou to see Hinata in his second year misery and be like 'oof that's rough' and just hold a conversation.

It's probably obvious I'm getting tired at this point but I'll most likely update at some point as I remember characters

Honestly I had a ridiculous amount of fun writing Pangcan in Keeps On Giving. Just the idea of this former assassin, who has no idea how to deal with his feelings, leaving corpses on the doorstep of the man he likes like a feral cat. I definitely want to write some more Pangcan next year

What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?

I'm really surprised that two of my Kei X Yaku fics are my most kudosed of anything I've posted this year. I didn't think it was a particularly popular fandom, especially compared to DMBJ which is well established. But Sharing is Caring and Aftermath both have more kudos than any of my DMBJ fics from this year.

I currently don’t have any distractions while writing my three wips, which I’m simultaneously working on (恨君不似江楼月 | Killer and Healer, 命运的红线 | The Red Strings of Fate, and Things Aren't Always What They Seem) but I do have one (maybe two) wips that I haven’t worked on the outline yet, but I kind of have an idea of. Ideas below the cut

Idea #1

Kei x Yaku story. Sort of inspired by the drama/manga Kei X Yaku: Abunai Aibo where Chen Yuzhi is a local yakuza/triad leader whose little sister Keying is kidnapped one day from school. Chen Yuzhi is sent a video of Keying, who is tied to a chair (thankfully not beaten like Rion in the drama) and a distorted voice basically threatens Chen Yuzhi and is like...you only have like...idk maybe 3-5 days (maybe a week) to find Keying and if you don’t...then he was going to kill him and he was going to make Chen Yuzhi watch. Chen Yuzhi, of course, is fucking livid and orders his men to figure out where the video came from and to find Keying, find out how she was taken, just find her.

His men do their best but they can’t find her at all and Chen Yuzhi is just...lost because Keying is his baby sister and she doesn’t deserve this. And he told himself he would never do something like this but he’s at a loss so he goes to the police department and asks to speak to someone/report a missing person. There he meets Jiang Yuelou and explains the situation to him, showing him the video. Jiang Yuelou is horrified that someone would take a child, let alone a yakuza leader’s little sister so he agrees to help Chen Yuzhi find her.

I haven’t really gotten much past that but...it’s a start. A start is good

Tentative idea #2

This one is just straight fucking angst. This one would be inspired by the song 老鼠爱大米 (Mice Loves Rice) and it just...it would hurt. So basically, the premise of the song is a delivery man is in love with a blind florist and over time they slowly fall in love. However, one day, the florist is struck by a car and is rushed to the hospital. The delivery man is devastated and basically prays to the heavens to save her and so in exchange for the woman surviving as well as gaining her sight back, the delivery man is turned into a mouse. The florist survives and gains her sight and falls in love with the doctor that saved her. And as a wedding gift, she’s given a little white mouse in a cage, which she doesn’t know is the delivery driver. Over all, the song is both beautiful and heartbreaking and yes, my chinese teacher showed us this in high school and had the entire fucking class sobbing

But I’m not going to follow the premise of the music video and instead I’m thinking of doing it where it’s inspired by the ep. 37, where Jiang Yuelou is holding Chen Yuzhi in his arms as he dies. And as he’s dying, Jiang Yuelou screams and cries and begs for the heavens to save Chen Yuzhi. He will do anything, he will give anything just...save him. So, the Heavens do what he asks and saves Chen Yuzhi but Jiang Yuelou is either transformed into a mouse or to make it sadder, Jiang Yuelou disappears and the Heavens basically wipe everyone’s memory of Jiang Yuelou and only Chen Yuzhi can remember him. The ending of the fic could go either way.

Ending #1: Jiang Yuelou turned into a mouse

If Jiang Yuelou is turned into a mouse, Chen Yuzhi would find Xiao Bai staring at it/tentatively trying to pet it and Chen Yuzhi quickly saves it, thinking that it’s just a poor innocent little mouse. He takes care of the mouse, loves it, talks to it every day about the love of his life, Jiang Yuelou. Kind of like beauty and the beast/princess and the frog, maybe one day Chen Yuzhi absentmindedly kisses the mouse on the head and it transforms into Jiang Yuelou, happily ever after

Ending #2: Everyone but Chen Yuzhi forgets Jiang Yuelou

Angstier ending. If Jiang Yuelou is forgotten, Chen Yuzhi will be heartbroken and will write down their adventures together so that Jiang Yuelou isn’t forgotten. Not by him. Sadly though, over time, he begins to forget Jiang Yuelou until one day Jiang Yuelou, whom the Heavens determined deserved a second chance/happy ending with Chen Yuzhi, steps through his clinic doors. Happy ending

I don’t know if I’ll ever write this one because it’s just so sad and I would probably be crying while trying to write and I don’t really like to write sad stories. It would have a happy ending but lord have fucking mercy would I be in pain while trying to write it. The angst would be delicious but I think I would hurt more people’s feelings than the ending of Killer and Healer did. And I don’t know if I want to do that. I love me some angst but...that just seems really cruel. To both me and my readers

a/n: nothing I love more than fantasyhq! 💝 inspired by encanto tho I’m strongly considering doing some magic house s/o hcs for certain charas like ‘tsumu, akaashi, oikawa & anyone else if you guys are interested :) the sheer amount of creative house appliance stuff i omitted for the hc’s above^ and sick reader x ‘samu magic house I’ve been working on is painful- oh I’m also working on a hinata fantasy medieval fic & so if you want to be added to the tag list let me know :)

this baby would be sooo excited and curious about everything I kid you not, rushing to different spots on the house, dancing a jig with with the slippers that bounce and twirl on their heels and toes, watching in awe as you talk to the furniture. every tiny to big detail would excite them and as they stare their eyes light up, practically blinding you and jaws constantly dropping open "woahh, could you do it again? just one last time, pretty please??" "Babe, I already showed you this three times now." "And three is pathetically tiny number. Four is much better." He stretches out the 'much' and when the appliance shakes in anticipation he adds, "See, even the kettle wants you to do it!" Though once they somewhat settle down, this boy would definitely befriend the house. Like humming and belting out lyrics in the house, tossing his sweater at the wall with the form of a basketball player for the upper rung to lower it's place on the wall to catch, and love to help clean up (Cinderella fit and all), and interact with the house so much that it's almost like he lives there and the house becomes attached to him too. Loud "I'm home!!"'s and smiles and laughter when the floorboards rise and fall like hitting the keys of a xylophone and as the appliances hurry to welcome him.

now, this boy is a more subtle kind of impressed, excited but not as much as one of his close crazy friends would've been. he also interacts with and has come to appreciate a friendship with the house. often in the kitchen vibing with the salt shakers and letting out a low whistle at normal appliances pitching in to help him or being convenient instead of all of the floorboards and portraits dancing and unfurling carpets. Easily the type of guy in a house with all kinds of chaos gets excited with the chairs that knock into the back of their knees and pull you to the right spot at the table and tuck themselves in, with drawers that open themselves when you reach something and when he's teasing and bullying you, the furniture bumping him and bottom cupboards open wildly and smack him, squarely in the butt and bullying him lolll as he laughs, apologizing to appease the furniture and hold and tickle you as you laugh at him from your place on the floor. "c'mere you." he says reaching for you as you try to crawl out of his reach as you guys playfully wrestle, the utensils forming an audience across from you guys on the counter.

this boy here is half in denial but also struggling to hide the fascination he feels, "Babe I didn't know you were a witch." "Idk, feel like I deserved to know or like a...warning." "shut up." you two are both smiling as he drinks in the interior, admiring portraits until they start playing games with him and tilt the other way when he reaches for them. he would visit often even after pretending to be unfazed by the house as the interior tries to approach and be friendly with him and cups slide across the counter to his hand and a fork and spoon hop over to him when you guys set out the take out. there are definitely moments where sometimes both him and the house would judge you lol, constant gossip queen energy. and although he tries to act nonchalant about the house, you catch him very often being cute and awkwardly interacting with the furniture. Maybe hunched over watching the dancing slippers perform or pointing at random plant pots as they show him a trick, pleased at the random attention, pretty much him secretly appreciating and showing intrigue though he tries to play it off as if you haven't caught him playing simon says with the perfume bottles five times now-
