She looks around for a moment, wondering if this displeasure with technology and the ever-surging current of progress was directed at her, or if she was just going to have to be the ‘face’ of it while she was in his office. She has a smart-assed comment to make about possibly updating his spam filter and using keywords to filter just who gets through to his email proper as opposed to say, his secretaries?

But uh, she holds that in. She really does like this job. When you make it to THE SHOW, it’s hard to go back to working Bingo Halls and Rec Centers. Some people handled it with grace, most couldn’t. She fit into the ‘most’ category.

Stepping up, she set her phone down on his- No, she zoomed in to the photograph she was here to show him and then set it down on his desk. “In about five weeks, New Japan is hosting a Cross-Promotional Rumble. They’re recruiting from all kinds of territories and promotions, for all kinds of matches, work-styles, and stories. With your permission, I’d like it if my sister and I were allowed to head out on excursion and represent the brand. Since we don’t have any stories at Mania, or in the build-up, it could be a good chance to get outside eyes on the company and what we’re about.”

Plus! It was hosted by Keniuchio Harada’s company! That was his sigil in the photo, his brand putting out the call. She might not be the best study, but there was still ‘good blood’ between these two, right?

Sadashi Harada/Kaiya Yashida, AKA Silver Samurai

So she is still the daughter of Logan Howlett and Mariko Yashida, but after she was poisoned and Logan was forced to kill her to give her a quick death rather than a slow, painful one, she was sent to live with her uncle, Keniuchio Harada, who changed her name from Kaiya Yashida to Sadashi Harada

She was harshly trained and often beaten by Keniuchio’s son, Shin, who saw her as a threat to being next in line to be leader of the Harada Clan, and wanted to prove to his father that he was better

Sadashi was kept locked up in her room most of her life, with hardly any social interaction aside from her training sessions or servants bringing her meals. She only had one window, but it was too high to ever escape out of, so she’d only look out of it, longing to leave and live a better life

When Logan heard his daughter was still alive (he had been told she was poisoned as well), he and the X-Men invaded the Harada Fortress to retrieve her. She was scared and confused cause she never knew who her father was, and he kept calling her Kaiya so she was just very confused and afraid for awhile, but went with him willingly because she just wanted to leave the Fortress

She’s very quiet and well mannered, extremely elegant and was training to be a geisha rather than leader of the clan since Shin was clearly ruthless and refuses to let her be better than him. So she’s very intelligent and talented in the arts, especially with music

The X-Girls have her sleep over in their rooms a lot (they often have sleepovers, everyone just piling into one of their rooms) and help her learn how to be a normal teenager. Amber will give her a makeover, Alexa and Anja are having her watch Netflix tv shows to catch up with society, Pepper and A’Kioni are already snoring on the bed, and Willa-Deene is trying to teach her some card games

Her English is very broken and she only knows few words, she only ever spoke Japanese and she has a very strong accent as well, so all her L’s come out as R’s and she gets embarrassed about it but her friends all tell her it’s really cute

She’s not familiar with modern technology, she still needs help working the microwave and she doesn’t have a phone yet cause it would be like teaching your great grandmother how to use a phone, it just wouldn’t work out

Pitch for Shang-Chi 2 (now that I’ve seen the movie, so SPOILERS):

General premise:

One year after the first film, Shang-Chi is contacted by Xialing, the new leader of the Ten Rings. Xialing says that the Ten Rings are currently in a gang war with the Japanese crime organization known as “The Hand” (remember them from the Netflix shows?). Apparently, the Hand initiated the war when they heard that Wenwu was dead, giving them the idea that the Ten Rings were vulnerable.

(Basically, this the MCU equivalent of a Chinese Triads versus Japanese Yakuza movie)

Shang-Chi, being the good-of-heart protagonist, says that even though Xialing is family, he can’t involve himself in a gang war. Xialing is infuriated by this and says that Shang-Chi is abandoning her again, but Shang-Chi points out that this is a problem she has to deal with since she made the choice to take over the Ten Rings. The two siblings separate once again, much to Katy’s disappointment (she says something along the lines of, “Shaun, I get where you’re coming from but...that was just cold.”)

A few days later, Xialing is attacked by a mysterious vigilante. At first, she thinks it’s an assassin sent by the Hand until the vigilante hits her with an energy attack from his fist (you know where this is going). Xialing is hospitalized, forcing Shang-Chi and Katy to come back. Although he doesn’t want to get involved, Shang-Chi decides to go after the mysterious vigilante after seeing his sister in the hospital.

The hunt for the vigilante leads to Shang-Chi learning about the rise of a new hero who is working out of Hong Kong. No one knows his name but the people refer to him as the “Iron Fist”. The rest of the movie then focuses on Shang-Chi’s hunt for Iron Fist, as well as going up against the Hand.

Miscellaneous plot details:

1) Shang-Chi and Iron Fist start out as enemies, but later join forces when they realize they have a mutual enemy in the form of the Hand. Both men reach a compromise that Iron Fist will leave Xialing alone if she promises to turn the Ten Rings into a legitimate organization without any criminal links.

2) The leader of the Hand and the main villain of the movie is Keniuchio Harada (Silver Samurai).

3) Recurring joke in the movie: The frenemy relationship between Shang-Chi and Iron Fist, with Katy Chen trying to get the two men to get along. At some point, both men are just showing off their abilities (Shang-Chi’s rings and Danny Rand’s power fists) to one-up the other, much to Katy’s annoyance.

4) Sharon Carter makes an appearance when we learn that she’s been doing business with both the Ten Rings and the Hand.

5) The final battle is Shang-Chi and Iron Fist in a 2-on-1 fight with Silver Samurai.
