Greetings humans, I have decided to make use of my ask box and take in requests for writing stuff! (Specifically surrounding my fixations with slashers ofc, however this blog will still be personal and I will deviate to posting my own things), and with this new thing in mind, this also comes with rules and a masterlist. Please do not spam or harass me if I have finished your request! I can get overwhelmed and I will delete your request and post.

I can be pretty slow with writing requests due to school work and irl things so please bear with me. (¯ . ¯٥)

I won’t answer to any repeated requests that have already been done before.

If I am uncomfortable with the request I will delete it from my inbox. (This also goes for lack of motivation to write, but there’s the high possibility I will keep them for the future!)

Don’t have anything nice to say to me? Then stfu, keep it to yourself. Though I am open to whatever constructive criticism you want to give me or any silly jokes for roasts, light teasing, I’m all for that but insults is where I draw the line.

So far I’m only finding comfort to writing for the slashers I’ve stated in my masterlist but more will be posted soon in the future if I find more. :)

Rules

I’m always happy to receive topics or prompts for drabbles, short fics, headcanons, and all the forms of writing in between (no guarantees that they’ll be very good, though, I’m very new to this all)

For writing request rules, please note the following:

SFW content requests only (not comfortable writing into a NSFW direction, which may result in asks that steer towards that field being reformatted a bit)

Angst, cuddles and fluff, general themes, mild horror (if I can manage the style), comfort, AU scenarios, canon-compliant, time-skip - whatever the mood or genre you’re looking for, let me know and I’ll try to tailor my writing as best as I can to fit it!

Security breach | head canons pt 2 (crush edition)

What I head canon the characters would do if they had a crush on you. Lets get into it, enjoy! ♡~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♡

Freddy -So sweet oh my god -He probably takes notes tbh. Like your favorite pizza and all that -If Gregory isn't in his chest cavity there's a first aid kit or a gift in there. Literally always prepared to help -Idk I just see him as like- COMMITTED. Some may say its a bit much but he just wants you to be in absolute bliss and safety around him -Once he gave you a band aid with his face on it and you were silent, he never did it again. (I'm assuming it was a "oh that's cute" silence but its up to interpretation) -Gave you a little top hat to match him once it was adorable -When he finds lost coins he puts them together and gives them to you so you guys can play arcade games together

Monty -He doesn't know whether to be sweet or bully you -"He's a tsundere" I can't see it he seems so blunt -If he doesn't admit his crush quickly he just openly teases you all the time -Once he literally went through the trouble to pretend to be missing so he could (gently) tackle you from behind (The others knew it was fake but he asked them to go with his plan) -You know when a dog jumps on you because they're excited? He told you that's what you look like when you run up to hug him. Makes fun of you but makes sure you know its all with loving intent -Made you wear cat ears once (my oc is a catgirl so if that's your case too just- you already had em) and you had to wear them on stage to introduce them, Monty would NOT stop patting your head and all that. Don't let him know if you enjoy it he'll never let it go. Ever. -Definitely flexes his strength around you. Will randomly pick you up just for shits and giggles

Roxy -Also bullies you with love and flexes her strength -I just feel like her and Monty are really similar -She won't admit she likes you half as easy though, if you mention it she'll get all flustered and deny it and make a bunch of half assed misdirects -"NO! YOU DO!" half of me is pained to head canon that she isn't just super tough super strong always confident woman but, come on look at her. -Gives you gifts when you aren't looking but also puts her name on it and makes sure you know SHE gave it to you and no one else -Sleepovers. She tries to be nonchalant about it but she really wants to "not cuddle" with you.

Chica -Takes time to make healthy recipes that taste like your favorite foods so you can eat them all the time no worries at all (like less stomach aches and cavities) -Makes you pizza so often you could live on it -SO SWEET OH MY GOD hypes you up so so often -Will literally spend hours complimenting you if need be -Will run little fashion shows with you after hours. Like she'll give you outfits to try on (ones that you like) -Like each outfit you go on the lifting stage and walk down, doesn't matter who of the gang attends she will clap and compliment you each and every time -Applies makeup on you if you want it and you'll look so nice with it

Sun/Moon -So many arts and crafts -Sun makes sure he gets your favorite color of everything. whether it be glitter glue or construction paper so on -Draws pictures for you all the time. Like all the time he'll come up to you and show you a picture of him and you hanging out together. (both of them) -Makes the best napping spots. If you're someone that struggles with sleep they make like "nests" and really good beds so you can sleep well, or at least rest.

Vanny -Literally insane I'm sorry -I don't have much to say she's just bat shit crazy -Watches you on the cameras probably -Will give you secret gifts as well but way creepier -I'm sorry if you like Vanny she's just- REALLY crazy

(BONUS) Map bots -Draws cute pictures on your maps -Might cut your maps into cute heart shapes or stars etc -Makes you hats and stuff out of maps

I know no one probably cares, but I made a madness Combat Oc, that probably makes no sense to the canon universe cause I’m mega cringe but whatever take her I really like how she came out. She was kinda made cause I’m writing a madness combat fanfic called “A field trip to Nevada [GONE WRONG!!!]”. And before you say anything, it’s not a crack fic what so-ever, some really fucked up shit happens in it, I just wanted to make it something funny to yaknow, Ease the tension one dark tones of the story. She’s not a main character but she does appear as an antagonist at some point, attempting to capture Hank so she can Torture and Kill him in the most painful way possible. Still deciding on what happens to her though.

Her name is Xena (name chosen by my best friend @redseaprincess ). She a MAG Agent, technically speaking.

What I mean by that is, she’s supposed to be the ‘first’ MAG grunt, in terms of it coming out successfully. She stands at about a towering 17 feet and 11 inches, meaning that she can most likely fit a normal sized Grunt within the palm of her crudely patchworked hand. Instead of working more as an agent though, she is instead suppose to be a caretaker, taking care of any new grunts produced by the A.A.H.W., as well as train them to work for the agency. Due to this, she has very mother like tendencies towards most grunts she meets, and even calls them her children, the only exceptions she has so far are The Auditor, of whom she somewhat fears but respects, Hank, who she’s personally out to rain hell on for “Killing too many of her children”, Tricky, who she considers a very close friend (reason unknown), and Jeb, who she feels would be demeaning to refer to as one of her ‘children.

That’s the most I have for her though, but here are some funfact about her that aren’t really important but are things about her I came up with:

She is a transwoman, The magnification process seemed to help somewhat in the process of transitioning, all except for the fact the her voice still sounds rather masculine.

To deal with her masculine sounding voice, she try to pull of a softer for high pitched voice when speaking. If works half the time.

She is also supposed to be Asexual Grey-Demiromantic, But that may change in the future cause I’m indecisive.

She’s actually rather large compared to most of the other MAG agents, with them being at her chest height at the most.

While she doesn’t like violence at all, she will resort to it to protect her children, as seen via. Wanting to kill Hank.

If you have a bad dream, just got to her and she’ll let you cuddle her happily.

She would be very physically affection in general, but she’s too afraid of hurtin the grunts, due to her massive size and how she see’s a lot of grunts as “Small and fragile”

Yes, she is meant to be chubby/chonky, I’m still practicing drawing chubby body types without going overboard give me a break.

She’s not blind, but her eyes would be considered more ‘terrifying’ than what you’d expect, at least in her opinion, and she doesn’t want to be terrifying, she wants to give off a motherly vibe. So she covers them to hide them, the only time she’s seen without the bandages is when she’s attacking Hank, in which she wants to look more menacing.

Not really a fact about current her but in her concept art, she was originally gonna have pink hair in a low pony, no bandages over her eyes (with her eyes being a greenish red), horns, no claws, a collar around her neck, no stitches around her body, and a white lacy dress. Dk how she went from “preppy mama” to “goth mama” but ok.

But uh yeah, I hope you like my super cringe Madness Combat Mary Sue Oc. I hope you like her cause I really do like how She came out.

I have had maybe three hours of sleep. I’m surviving on caffeine and animal cuddles with a dash of unordered anxiety. I keep adding to my list of projects for my free time. Slow progress. Trying out new styles, layouts, etc. I said I would practice drawing dudes and did no such thing.

My obsession with IFs continues. One of the reasons I haven’t done any guys is my MCs are always female. Drawing OCs makes me twitch a little because no one is going to complain about how I draw my characters but OCs…..descriptions are often bare bones which leaves some room for interpretation and people get fussy about their head canons. I should just bite the bullet and do it anyway. What are they going to do? Break my pen and tablet? No, but there will be disappointment and judgement. I think that might be worse, I can replace my pen and tablet. RIP my anxiety. Let me clear my plate and maybe start one more MC (come on, I have phoenix ideas).

DHM was lowkey convinced for the longest time that HHJ was like, on the run from the KR version of the mafia, and got plastic surgery to look like his little brothers, and is possibly in some sort of witness protection program??? or something??? how else does he not have cops on his ass this man is so suspicious all the time

Oh wow thanks for the ask! I've been itching to fill out an oc ask meme so this is perfect timing!

I'm honestly kinda nervous/excited like I haven't really rambled on and on about my kids like this before, like I haven't really gotten into the nitty-gritty with them yet so this one kinda stumped me for awhile.

So after thinking about this all day and I finally narrowed down who I wanna talk about, I've decided to put my bnha ocs on the back burner since I talk about them waaay more than I probably should.

Honestly after drawing Neha all day yesterday I kinda have brainrot so here we go

Are there any people in your character's life that aren't a good influence? Do they have any unhealthy relationships, either currently or in the past?

Not trying to be edgy or anything when I say this like Neha is his worse enemy and he just honestly doesn't care.

I tied the first two questions together because honestly they go hand and hand for him, you see Neha has had many relationship and has ruined every single one of them.

He gets in relationships with people purely so he can have them to himself, when you're in a relationship you have to commit to the other person but since he's an incubus he usually gets a pass and is still allowed to sleep with other people.

Neha doesn't get with people because he loves them, probably not, he gets with people because there's something he likes about them and he wants that all to himself. He wants to stake his claim and tie that person down but the second they want the same loyalty from him Neha sees them as too much of a hassle and simply ghosts them.

And it's happened in his past relationships.

First with my other monster prom oc Alaska Howler and their relationship lasted a really long time, at least five (5) years, and Alaska wanted to propose to Neha and he didn't want any part of "settling down", he's honestly disgusted by being with the same person everyday for the rest of their lives, and because of that Alaska no longer dates guys and is heavily guarded. Neha was the first person Alaska really opened up to and to have the love of your life turn their back on you and act like you don't exist is devastating.

Next it was with Sawyer, the canon character from monster camp, but Neha didn't really get to sink his teeth into them like he did with others. They were drawn to each other for being outcasts really, in their culture Neha is one of the many few incubus that are small and appear effeminate as typical incubus are around 7 feet tall with muscular builds and believe that if someone were to want an incubus such as Neha they may as well just summon a succubus. Ever since he had started presenting as more feminine than his other incubus he was treated far worse and almost fetishized by both demons and humans alike and since Sawyer doesn't really fit in either incubus or succubus category they would be shunned/frowned upon for going against the grain. Since their cultures weren't accepting of either of them they found comfort in each other, I imagine their friendship was very soft with kind words and cuddles but it was becoming apparent that at some point Sawyer had a crush on Neha and of course Neha would take advantage of that, he would lead Sawyer on just to see them fluster or get free stuff but nothing more. He would've probably dated them if he wasn't already with his fling of the week at the time.

He's in a "committed" relationship now with one of my self insert ocs, Enya, but God knows how long that'll last.

How have these destructive relationships affected them?

Honestly they haven't affected Neha at all since he's doing all the damage.

He kinda sees these relationships as possessions or like toys that he'll eventually get bored of, he'll toss them and find someone else to hold his interest for the next few days or months.

To put it simply.

Neha doesn't give a fuck who he hurts as long as he's having fun, that's all he cares about.

He's a self-centered asshole and GOD do I hate him.

This is right before writing chapter 20, but earlier during a call, Oliver revealed to me that he is convinced I’m going to kill Benrey. I mean, he’s right? temporary character death is a thing after all. He’s just convinced it’s gonna be a permanent death which, babe. Why would I do that to you? 

Which also leads me into this, specifically targeted. You said that I told you I was going to kill one of the science team, but that has NEVER been part of the plan so I have no clue where you got that? I did say I was going to kill at least one person, out of the science team and OCs, so maybe you just didn’t hear the second part? Either way, I just let you suffer through thinking that. Not sure exactly when I started shipping them, though I’m sure it was the first time I read something for them. More than likely I stumbled upon a random fic after falling down the MadaTobi rabbit hole, and decided that Yes, this ship Works. Have shipped them ever since.

They’re amazing. Sassy and quick-witted and just amazing. 

I love how they started out so against each other. Izuna didn’t even give a second thought to ever seeing Tobirama as anything more than his enemy, and Tobirama was fully prepared to kill him to protect all those he loved. I also love the idea of them overcoming this and falling in love, and being able to be vulnerable around each other.

Anything to do with Izuna dying. I dislike Edo Tensei versions of this ship with a burning passion tbh, the only exception being purposeful horror stories that show how “wrong” that dynamic is as far as being in a healthy relationship is involved. No Edo Tensei Izuna. No crazed scientist Tobirama bringing him back. No thank you.

HAPPY ENDINGS. I look for happy endings in fics for them. Also I try to look for healthy relationships for them a little more than other ships, just because of where the TobiIzu fandom takes the unhealthy relationships somewhere I don’t like. Also I don’t care one way or the other whether Madara ends up with Hashirama in TobiIzu fics.

Madara, Hashirama, Itachi, some OCs. I’m not too picky. As long as Izuna stays away from Touka. No thank you.

Them both living and loving each other. Maybe fighting side-by-side in battle. Growing old and retiring, and Izuna bothering Tobi for the rest of their lives. Tobi secretly doesn’t mind the constant teasing tho.

They cuddle however they want to, though I think Izuna has a Thing for laying on top of Tobi. Whether on his back or chest.

Also I just don’t think Itachi would have accepted that he’d done wrong and couldn’t fix it himself. He’s a control freak that thinks it’s up to him to fix everything and carry all the weight of the world on his own shoulders, by himself.

I’m really proud of what I’ve accomplished, and thanks to you all for the encouragement to put my ideas out into the world! This has been a year of trying new things, and really growing as an author I feel… And wow according to AO3 I’ve written about 400k words in the past 12 months, damn. So let’s get to the list, going from the beginning of the year to the end, and as always please heed the tags on these before reading.

1 Late Night at the Slab

Idea: Filling a prompt for the Thryce server in which some, uh, unique Chiss anatomy was assigned.

Result: A 3-way with Thrawn, Arihnda, and Eli and my first foray into the more Xeno side of things in a Modern AU setting. Yeehaw!

2 The Trouble With Free-Roaming Ysalamiri

Idea: Based on some adorable ysalamiri cuddles art by @strength-through-order I wanted to write some Thranto fluff.

Result: Ysalamiri-filled Thranto fluff X’D

3 Inquisitor’s Debt

Idea: What if the Grand Inquisitor changed sides at the end of Rebels season 1?

Result: Some fun throwbacks with Obi-Wan and Caleb Dume leading up to Quizzy defecting with Ezra.

4 Ancient Stems

Idea: Eli Week drabbles based on the Vanto Week prompts.

Result: A silly buzz droid narrative with Thrawn and some cute slice of life Eli backstory/Ascendancy days bits.

5 Charnsuka

Idea: Kinky stuff with Lord Garmadon when he’s an Anacondrai.

Result: Kinky stuff with Lord Garmadon when he’s an Anacondrai. Sorry Zane!

6 Caged Like Prized Birds

Idea: Again inspired by the awesome Chiss anatomy and Thrux drawings by @strength-through-order , I wanted to craft a narrative around Armitage, as a young man, stumbling upon a clone of Thrawn.

Result: Man, this might just be one of my favorite things I’ve ever written, had so much fun plotting it out and the smut is mmm! Tentacles everywhere~ I’ve gone back to re-read this a lot, I’ll admit it. I hope you all enjoyed it too.

7 Quiet On Set

Idea: Must. Write. Talos.

Result: A cute little platonic x-reader with everyone’s favorite Skrull. This was my first MCU fic too.

8 Diagnostic

Idea: Wanted to apologize to Zane for the damages done in Charnsuka with some Glacier shipping fluff.

Result: A silly glacier thing leading to a bit of foolery. I’m happy with it!

9 Heron Soaring

Idea: A continuation of the plot line from Heron Rising with Kanan and Thrawn.

Result: Too many feels… but some great sex to soften the blow, Kanera too!

10 Patron

Idea: Responding to a tumblr prompt from @wukeskywalker regarding Thrawn commissioning LOADS of artworks of Eli.

Result: More Thranto fluff! I see a trend here…

11 Black Heron

Idea: Kanan x Pryce for @myevilmouse , I think this was our first ‘collaboration’ on something!

Result: Juahir hires a special someone to show Arihnda a good time!

12 Red Heron

Idea: @star-wars-rebels-4 is always an amazing wealth of ideas for Grand Inquisitor, and encouraged a work featuring him and Kanan.

Result: Delicious back alley smut when an undercover Jedi is caught!

13 Warm Homecoming

Idea: Give my and a friend's OCs some cute fluff.

Result: OC fluff and a vacation to Hoth!

14 sowing the seeds

Idea: Add something cute to the spank war project.

Result: Another contender for my ‘favorite thing I’ve ever written’ rank. Two chapters of pining, cooking lessons, and sweet slick smut.

15 Red Frost

Idea: After watching “The Evil of Frankenstein” with @sneakybunyip ‘s amazing movie night group, I wanted to do something fun with Victor and Hans.

Result: A fun little adventure fic with some huddling for warmth to boot. Victor and Hans are the hammer-horror-verse Thranto send tweet.

16 a setting sun to hide the ruins

Idea: What if I tortured Kanan to the point he turned evil and joined the Inquisitors (and went a little insane in the process)

Result: Instead of torture, let’s just use some serum that drives him mad. Perfect. Smut ahoy, pretty much a dead dove type fic.

17 Pinktown

Idea: When browsing abandoned towns in Florida, I came across Flamingo… what if Thrawn had been exiled here instead.

20 Shape of Honor

Idea: Well, this one started in 2018 but ‘finished’ in 2019. Still working on the epilogue. Lots of tweaks… If you are not familiar, this is my AU in which it explores how the Thrawn novel and Rebels show would be altered if Palpatine distrusted Thrawn from their first meeting and accused him of being a Chiss spy. Vaguely inspired by the film The Shape of Water.

Result: Well it's nearly a novel now, isn’t it. This was a great adventure in learning how to create compelling story arcs. I’m extremely satisfied with how it is shaping (lol) up.

21 Datura Stamonium

Idea: Thrawnbine ovi smut.

Result: Oops it has plot now, a whole backstory with Eli and such and so fourth. Will need further stories told���

22 Desert Entropy

Idea: Luke/Wedge modern AU shenanigans.

Result: Also pulled Nath/Wyl and the Rogue Squad/Alphabet Squad peeps into this. Set in Vegas, Luke and Wedge meet and have a cute little romance, but some legal troubles set them back (Palpatine, as always, is That Bitch™) Very happy ending!

23 The Great Eli and Thrawn Prank War

Idea: See Chapter 1: Mullet Thrawn

Result: This thing really grew up, and thanks to all the contributors for allowing me to join in! My contributions were: 7-Bombs Away! In which a bit of drama brews and Thrawn makes a paint bomb that forces him and Eli back into being roomates. 11-Tooka Troube 2: Electric Boogaloo in which Eli finds his quarters slowly filling up with Tooka plush toys, and then something huge goes off in supply. 17-The Bitch is Back In which who knew Thrawn could sing?!

24 Clipped Wings to Keep Us from Flying

Idea: Continuing the story line from Caged Like Prized Birds

Result: Dragging Eli and the OG Thrawn into this, seeing that their stories were left untold in the first work. Also Armitage and the clone are up to all sorts of cool things. Still a WIP, on the list to keep working on this year!

Worker Bee ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Hands up by his shoulders, fingers curled in, Reno bobbed along with the gaggle of other girls, giggling alongside them to keep up. The quartet buzzed about, getting ready for the show and pausing to give gracious smiles and feather-light touches to return patrons. Reno diverted for just a second to run his surprisingly soft fingers under a man’s chin, drawing his eyes from the floor to see the sparkle in Reno’s own blue eyes.

Rejoining the swarm, he let the bumblebee butt on the back of his outfit bounce, no doubt keeping the man’s attention until he disappeared around a corner. Heading backstage to prepare for the show, a strong hand tugged him to the side and he looked up just in time to catch his boss’ smiling face. It was careful, sweet and gentle, something that fluttered Reno’s heart in his chest. A gentle kiss was pressed to his plump lips and it melted him in his heels, both arms wrapping around Andrea’s neck to keep him from losing his balance. “You’re going to do fantastic tonight, Reno.” Andrea purred into his ear, kissing it softly, “I’m looking forward to the show.” An ear to ear grin blossomed over Reno’s lips and he nodded, leaning in for another kiss to keep himself tided over until he was off work. “You bet your ass the show’s gonna be good,” Reno replied finally, having spent too long pushing back into kisses, lingering and needing more attention, “It always is.” His hungry mouth parted to invite the other’s tongue to explore, and Andrea gave him a fleeting taste of what was to come later. “You make a difference,” Andrea responded softly, breath washing over Reno’s lips as he spoke. As the show began, Reno executed his moves in time with everyone else, keeping up with a kind of dedicated caution he never showed in his other job. Being a Turk sometimes meant he had to get creative, and he was valuable enough that his occasional upsets didn’t cost him too much. A lecture or two, a few disparaging comments from Rufus, and he was back on his feet with his job still as secure as ever. Here, however, the wild Turk he was in his day job took a backseat to the charm he turned up to eleven every night. The Honeybee Inn wasn’t a place where you wanted to stick out, at least not so much, so violently, and he wanted nothing more than to keep impressing Andrea Rhodea. The better he did at his job, the more the man seemed to grow attached to him. Even off-hours, they spent as much time together as was feasible. It had started as simply offering Reno somewhere to crash one night when he was practically sleeping on his feet, but things could never stay so simple in either of their lives. One night of cuddling in Andrea’s incredibly soft bed had turned Reno onto the finer things in life, and an odd kinship had been born. Around a lot of people, Reno had to tamp down on himself, even if he could get overexcited and his filters eroded under his opinions. Around Andrea, though, he could be himself, he could wear what he wanted to, do what he wanted to. When repairs on his home had become too costly, Reno had even badgered the other man into giving him a night job. As far as he knew, the other Turks didn’t know about his double life, and he wasn’t interested in divulging such things. No, this counted as Fun Reno time, and Work Reno had a restraining order on anything Fun Reno thought was a good idea. Okay, except for the occasional prank to light up the office. But beneath the bright lights, with the music pumping around him and the stage bringing attention to the veritable herd of them, everything fell away. He could cut loose and have the time of his life showing off for total strangers, faces obscured by the fluorescent glare blinding him to the dim room full of half-lidded eyes. Everything felt as comfortable on this stage as it did when he was in bed with the man he would call his sometimes-lover. It was no wonder that Andrea was on his mind more when he was working for ShinRa. Crawling out of his bed and slinking back plateside was the kind of walk of shame he actually didn’t appreciate. Even still, his mind was focused on the end goal, even as the finale of the show began, and he twirled into the arms of his designated partner like he was made for it. Reno was good at physical things, keeping his hands and feet busy kept his mind busier than paperwork every could. With one leg in the air, one arm above his head and his partner dipping him, he finished out the song while panting hard through his nose to avoid looking like he’d expelled too much effort. Following the others off stage, once the curtains cut to a close, Reno grinned at Chastity, who made a beeline for him as they were ushered to the back hallway where the dressing rooms were. Her comically tiny steps only fuelled Reno’s good mood, and she excitedly gestured with her hands as she spoke. “That was so good! I swear, we’re getting better all the time! I sure wish we could do another big show tonight.” “Well, everything else falls into place, don’t it? You get to dance again tonight, don’t you?” Reno drawled, smirking slightly as they rounded the corner towards the private rooms. “Yeah! I’m excited, it’s me, Lacey, Darnell, and Haddick.” She replied, clapping her hands several times in rapid succession as she shimmied along beside him to his usual private room. “You’re on Appointment Duty tonight, right?” “Oh, yeah, and I got some pretty big customers.” Reno almost cackled, shaking his head as he put his hands on his hips, “The kind that might get my shoe shoved up their ass if they try anything funny.” “Isn’t that like, everyone, though, Honey?” Chastity laughed, bending forward a bit to put her hands on her knees as she giggled happily. With his costume keeping them separated due to the large bubble of fabric and plastic, Reno was half-tempted to turn around, but Andrea managed to slot himself against the Honeyboy’s rump and kissed his ear anyway. “I always love watching you dance. You’re exquisite.” “I always love knowing you’re watching.” Reno nearly purred, finally managing to turn in the other’s arms before squeezing all the air out from between them. Andrea brushed the other’s hair out of his face, leaning in and tilting Reno’s head with two fingers on his chin to swipe his tongue against the redhead’s lips. Do What Makes You Happy

(Okay fair warning, this is a very long post with some seriously personal stuff in it.)

I know I don't usually open up on here, but I think it's time I finally do it to get it off my chest. This has been a topic I often find myself thinking about. It usually makes me feel really shitty when I do, but I don't ever talk about it with anyone. I think I need to let all of my thoughts air, even if no one listens.

This post is about "cringe culture." Basically, judging someone for something they love. Not criticizing or internally judging, but shaming. This is a topic that sits badly with me on both ends of the spectrum. I both have judged people and been judged, and both sides feel bad.

Let's start off with why I'm even making this post. I've thought for a long time about myself and the stuff I enjoy. I know it isn't normal, and I know a lot of people in my age group can't relate. I love anime, it's been an outlet for me and my weird fantasies (like dragons and swords, not the other kind) for almost 10 years now. Video games are some of my lifeblood even though I guess gamer girls don't exist?? I immensely love making characters, fan and original. Fictional characters are my cornerstones where real people (usually) tend to fall flat. Let me elaborate.

Anime has helped me cope with many difficult things over the years. It helps me connect with family and friends. It gives me a creative outlet for not just drawing and writing, but thinking. Even cliché anime always make me see the world in new ways, and I love it for that. It's helped me develop myself and my style for such a long time that I can't imagine being parted from it any time soon.

From anime especially comes my love of fictional characters. I have always loved them (my first favorite characters were Jim Hawkins and Bilbo Baggins, and I'll never forget that fact about myself), but that love became intensified as I grew older. I don't necessarily see myself in them, but I enjoy getting to know them. It's almost a personal connection with the characters. My favorites are almost always established from their introductions because something with them and me just...clicks. Even if I have no clue who or what they are, there is something there I feel. Like they're an old friend or something. They make me feel not alone, as strange as that sounds. Like for instance, take Mirio, my current muse on here. His sunshiney personality and goofy nature brighten my day. His selfless nature and general goodness make me strive to be a better person. As soon as he was introduced, I knew he was gonna be one of my favorites, I could just tell. He feels like a friend to me, and I really feel a connection with him.

Moving from characters, video games have allowed me to explore new worlds and escape the mundanenss of our own. I'm not trying to sound deep, but having a way to escape this life for a little while is nice. The interactiveness of video games is so wonderful, and it really feels like I'm shedding myself and becoming someone else for a spell. I especially love games that either have an awesome protags who is loveable and you root for them, or ones that you create your own character and save the world.

Which brings me to my last and most sensitive topic; my characters. I have made characters since I was able to. From my warrior cats to my anime side characters all the way up to my completely original ones, my characters have always had an influence on me. Rarely do I make self-inserts, but when I do they are versions of me I wish I was. (My first warrior cat was pretty much me as a cat, I'll admit. And my first anime OC was also loosely based off me.) But I have come so far with them from what I used to do. Now my characters all have their own lives and I'm just telling their stories. Yes this sounds cheesy, but I hear that this is what makes a good character. When you sit down and "chat" with them and they are separate from you. I don't want to say none of my recent characters are like me, because obviously new characters are still forming from MY brain, but I do my best to develop them like functional, separate people and not fictional versions of me. And yes, often I do end up shipping my characters with other characters (my own or canon), but I never make it about me. It's about two fictional characters that are fun to imagine going to see a horror movie or taking a walk or cuddling under the stars.

As much as I love all of this, I'm terrified to talk about my interests with others. This post has been extremely hard to write so far, but I'm forcing myself to do it so I can finally be at peace with my negative thoughts. I find it hard to talk with others for fear of being labeled "weird" or "cringey." And it's not even that I mind their comments, I mind and worry about what they DON'T say. I always get nervous talking about stuff with people because I worry they're silently judging me. And sure, I understand what I do isn't everyone's cup of tea (nor do I expect that literally at all, especially shipping OCs and canon characters). I just worry it actually affects how people view ME as a person from what I like. That's why I hide my interests in my pysche, I try to avoid making others uncomfortable with me, even if I feel uncomfortable hiding myself. It all stems from my lack of self-confidence and fear of being hated. Judging and being judged are very stressful things to undergo, especially for someone not happy with who they are 90% of the time.

I mentioned earlier I've experienced both ends of this. So let me discuss. I had a very judgmental mindset of people for a long time based upon what they liked. I judged people hardcore for liking things that were ridiculous to me. I never said it to them, but my thoughts were mean and malicious. Looking back on myself for that, I find it disgusting, and I'll be the first to say I was wrong. I honestly think my spitefulness stemmed from my own bad experiences I'll describe later. What people like doesn't usually harm me in anyway, and so what makes me the one who dissuades them from doing what they love? I am a devout Christian, and one of my life-changing takeaways from those experiences was to step back and let God be the judge. My judgment ultimately means nothing to someone's life, and so they should be allowed to do as they please and God can decide if it's wrong or right at the end. Again I say, if it makes you happy, DO IT.

On the other end, I have been ridiculed for what I like. It's been little things like disparaging comments from family members or even anon hate (old Tumblr accounts now deactivated). I still remember my worst experience was on a platform called Flipnote Hatena. Basically, you drew little animations, often to music, flipbook-style on your DSi and posted them for others to see. I made a Flipnote for my Spyro fan character (very much a self insert...I was like 10) and Spyro to the song "Listen to Your Heart." I was so proud of my work, and it was my best yet. I posted it, not expecting much, as my stuff wasn't very popular. Then I got a notification for a comment. I was so happy to see what someone said, praising my art. Turns out it was another user telling me I was wrong for shipping my dragon and Spyro because he only loved HER character. She peppered in death threats and told me to kill myself. She proceeded to make Flipnotes about wanting to fight and kill my main avatar (my warrior cat at this point) to prove she deserved Spyro. Obviously I was distraught. I just wanted to share my love for Spyro and what I thought was my best animation, and I got told to die and threatened to be killed all for what I enjoyed doing. I know nothing would have come of it in hindsight, but being a 10 year old, that really scarred me. I caved and deleted my Flipnotes with said characters and never posted them again. I let that person win, and erased a portion of myself from my heart.

This is the event that usually makes me question if what I'm doing is "okay." I get bouts of negative thoughts toward myself and my "weirdness." I find myself wanting to delete all my characters and writings and everything. I tell myself what I'm doing is wrong, and it would make so many people angry and mean if I posted it. And then I tell myself I don't NEED to post it to be happy. I don't need validation on my stuff. I don't need fans of my characters or for people to ship my couples. I just need someone to affirm I'm okay, that I'm not wrong. I need someone to tell me "if it makes you happy, do it." I need to be reminded I'm also a person with feelings that matter. I'm uncomfortable deleting all of my hard work. I'm angry for deleting that character I put hours of research and thought into. I'm mean when I think of someone being so bothered by what a stranger does that they have to verbally abuse them for it. That's why I'm extending that for anyone listening. If you need to hear this, you are valid. If it makes you happy, please do it. Know that someone out there is rooting for you. I am 100% behind you.

That old show you watched with your middle school best friend? Watch it and relive some great memories! That cute idea you have for a scenario between your Naruto OC and Kakashi? Draw it, it's probably super cute! That idea for a for a story based solely upon platonic love and not romantic? Hell yeah, we need more of that content!

Basically, do whatever makes you you. True happiness seems like it's becoming hard to find nowadays, so if you find it, hold onto it. Never change for what you expect people want from you, and that doesn't just extend to hobbies. Be your awesome self. One day, someone will come along who loves what you do too, or will love you for being you. :)
