Loretober
Day 3: La Llorona
I like to switch between October drawing challenges, if I don’t feel inspired by the prompts of one. So today I decided to participate in Loretober’s theme.

Loretober Day 8: Going for the more mothy Mothman with influence from a black-waved flannel moth, native to West Virginia, where this urban legend comes from. I chose it since it's one of the species that has the long feathery antennae. Pentel brushpen, Bombay Black ink and brush, red Daiso brushpen and Prismacolor fine-line marker on Canson mixed media.

Day one of Loretober2023: Tarot
Dear Hephaestus seemed like the perfect fit for The Hermit—he takes pleasure in solitude but deeply values the people he lets into his life. He loves his Aetna and she loves him back.

The legends behind this one are very different to what I expected, Futakuchi-Onna is a kind of cursed? It affects women who are not being fed enough by their husbands, they become so hungry they grow a second mouth in the back of their head that constantly tries to eat and if left long enough her hair will form two snakes to help the mouth find food. Very creepy but I wonder how often starving your wife was a thing for this to become a folklore cryptid?
