lil’ break
this is going to be long, but i need to let this out
lately i’ve been feeling like i was forcing myself to be active on this blog specifically (since i have more followers here than on my two other blogs), trying to set a queue when i could and ultimately being too inconsistent with it.
thing is i’ve been struggling with my mental health and my... relationship with my family since the beginning of summer since, with all my friends gone on vacation without any word, i just couldn’t escape the family cocoon as often as i could. on top of that, my birthday, my 18th birthday, my Filipino Debut, is approaching and... i was so excited! at first. maybe i was just convincing myself that i was because my mum, who never got the opportunity to have one, was so excited about it and seemed so happy organizing everything. it’s sad, but i haven’t seen her this happy in a long time. just like how my dad is so emotional about it too, and i have never seen him cry or show affection to me before...
growing up i always struggled to find the perfect balance between my own culture, filipino, and the one i grew up in, french. and i mean, it wasn’t easy when people here seem to not know what the philippines is and would tell me i don’t look asian enough because they’ve been brainwashed into thinking all asians have light skin lol ANYWAY that’s a rant for another day. i still struggle today, i mean obviously since this is the very reason i want to take a break from this blog, the phandom (not dnp though, i still love them and i’ll still watch their content when they’ll post i think i just won’t blog about it).
i need to focus a little bit more on myself and how to deal with feeling like i don’t belong in my own fucking family and culture while i always told my friends that i value my family above anything else. a feeling that’s been here since the beginning when i stopped speaking tagalog to learn french as fast as possible and ultimately forgetting all together how to speak my parents’ and family’s language, putting a barrier between us even if i can speak english with them. with my Debut approaching it just downs on me how much i will, in fact, not feel at ease at all during it, since i probably won’t know anyone personally and the friends i invited still haven’t replied to my texts... but i can’t really... cancel everything at the last second. i feel kind of trapped, but maybe once it happens i won’t, maybe i’ll enjoy it who knows. i’ll get to pretend to be a princess for a day after all... im tired of feeling like ive been lying to myself my whole life and still do
this blog takes the majority of my time and it isn’t helping. well it used to, it was a good distraction and it helped me forget the situation i am in, but then it wasn’t anymore and i found myself scrolling through my dash with a sour face. The recent dramas and overall negativity i’ve been seeing weren’t helping either. I start uni in a few days too, so it’s probably for the better that i take a step back from tumblr.

idk if this is unpopular its kinda just me rambling but the (majority of) people who ship dr/arry made me hate it???? like i didnt love it but i just kinda saw it as a pretty chill ship, and then i realised most Dr/arry stans spend half their time bashing ginny because shes in the way of their precious ship and it gets on my nerves immensely because i love ginny a lot

reason: I was never active in the dr/arry fandom and so I never really encounter thaaaat many people who ship it tbh. I know some people who ship it and they are all very lovely and don’t hate ginny at all but I’m sure there are dr/arry shippers who do but agjas I already said it yesteday I don’t like to generalize fandoms because the antis are mostly just the loudest ones like you know ? but I can understand that you started to dislike the ship when you encountered a lot of people who hated on ginny just because they didn’t shipper her with harry agshad

Louis swallowed harshly, but offered, “Since the AMAs after party at Niall’s.”
Harry nodded slowly, his eyes drifting up and over every inch of Louis, drinking in the sight as if it was the last time.
It is, Louis told himself, it’s over. Leave. Leave.
“Fuck. You, you look so pretty, I- dammit,” and then Harry was finally looking at Louis' face, eyes sharp and darkening into something that Louis was familiar with. He couldn’t breathe with Harry’s eyes on him, heavy. His heart was stuttering unevenly and he jumped when his back hit the wall, gasping softly.
“Why?” Harry asked, his fingers finally brushing the hem of his skirt.

I went to Lovey's dad's memorial yesterday.
And those things are always hard for me, because I hate getting hugged (or any kind of touching in genera from people I'm not super close to) and I felt bad because everyone else was genuinely in pain, but honestly, I was never very close with him and he was very uncaring towards me.
But there was a... I dunno what you would call it exactly, there was a performance portion of the night where everyone had to gather around Loveyl's aunt while she and her husband sang Xtian songs and everyone watched.
And in the middle of it, they told a story about how they had visited Bob (Lovey's father) and brought him back to the lord because he hadn't been to church in two years.
The whole excuse that he always used to give me and Lovey shit was that "god didn't approve" of our relationship
But then he fell off the Christ wagon and still had a problem with our relationship.
I cannot think of anything more important to an Xtian then their relationship with god. And in evangelical circles that doesn't mean giving to the poor or helping/loving your friends and family. It means going to church so that you can flaunt what a good Xtian you are.
But Bob had fallen away from the most important thing ever- joing his flock weekly to circle jerk about how much better they were than other people. But he didn't give up on getting Lovey and I to...what? I dunno..i guess get divorced and go find some good, god fearing guys to wife us up? Because, I thought, Bob has a good relationship with god, who has told him that he has the right- no! The NEED- to intervene in our personal relationship.
Except he wasn't talking to god. He left the holiness and kept the homophobia.
And you know what? It fucking hurt ok?
Because I'd just written all his bullshit on being an Xtian. There are probably some good ones out there, but at this day and age, in this country, the chances of finding a backwards thinking, misogynistic, homophobic idiot at a Jesus worshipping church are pretty good.
So it was easy to just blow off any wants for being accepted by my father in law by saying "he's faithful. His church has brainwashed him and doesnt understand how cruel he's being."
But he had escaped the church. Or atleast he did for a couple of years.
And he still had a problem with us, even though he didn't have god on his side anymore.
So in my mind, that means that god was something he could just toss aside. But homophobia was something he couldn't lose. Homophobia was more important than god for Bob.
And it makes me sad that thats the way I'm gonna remember him. But I really don't think I can unsee that logic.
