on Benjanun Sriduangkaew's past activity
Tumblr media
Incidentally, she may try to hide it these days but Winterfox/RequiresHate/Benjanun Sriduangkaew's circle was responsible for some of the worst dogpiling of Isabel Fall in 2020.
thread by the person who later originated the "year 1988 as Nazi dogwhistling" line and one of the earliest and most widespread "criticisms" of the story, complete with conspiracy theories about the author being a stealth TERF:

would love to see anon's source for the claim that rin chupeco accused winterfox of telling her to get raped by dogs. i cannot find evidence of this anywhere. i don't think spreading unsubstantiated claims about someone is a responsible thing to do regardless of how much of an asshole they may or may not be
Here you go. Original is linked and sourced from Winterfox Fanlore page, but links decay, so you can see the archive. I'll screenshot the beginning of the thread for your convenience.

The Spy and Her Serpent by Maria Ying
Tumblr media
Update September 15, 2023: I do not condone Benjanun Sriduangkaew's/Maria Ying's actions and will no longer recommend her books. Please check out egelantier's post for more info.
Olesya Hua, narcotics empress
…has everything: power, wealth, and a city that'll soon be hers. But her hunger is endless. She covets more still—and what Olesya Hua wants, she always gets.
Dallas Seidel, syndicate fixer
…lost her chosen family to bloody violence ordered by the Huas. She’ll stop at nothing to avenge them—she’ll stop at nothing until the Hua sisters are in the ground.
Their goals are in brutal opposition. Deceit and plots-within-plots will put them at each other's throat. They careen toward not just mutually assured destruction, but toward a fatal passion that’ll mark them both forever.
The Spy and Her Serpent is a trans-for-trans F/F short novel (53,000 words) set in contemporary Singapore. Contains: high heat, enemies-to-lovers, hurt/comfort, corruption, and a butch/femme couple.

My Favorite Books I Read in 2023
I read a ton of good novels last year- 36 in all (and uh, 78 manga/graphic novels, but we'll examine that in another post). Here's a link to my Goodreads year in books (the manga is at the beginning, the novels start with Siren Queen) and my storygraph wrap up.
I reread a ton of Discworld this year, and it's as spectacular as ever. But what about new reads?
Well, here are my favorite books I read in 2023!
Tumblr media
In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado
This is an autobiographical memoir about the abusive relationship the author went through with her ex-girlfriend. It's absolutely gut-wrenching, and at times, achingly beautiful. Machado uses the house she shared with her girlfriend, which she calls the "dream house", as a back drop. It's a place she always wanted and also a place she became trapped in, Machado's language is beautiful as she explores the relationship from different lenses-- The Dream House as Lesbian Cult Classic, the Dream House as Noir, the Dream House as Creature Feature, the Dream House as Stoner Comedy....All facets of the relationship are explored in a way that grips you by the throat and makes you remember everyone who ever tried to suffocate you-- but it also explores the hard work of moving on, of picking up the pieces, of living and embracing tenderness along with hardship.
I especially related to Machado's struggle to talk about abuse between queer lovers because of her fears of giving homophobes more ammunition...and when she says "we deserve to have our wrongdoing represented as much as our heroism, because when we refuse wrongdoing as a possibility for a group of people, we refuse their humanity", I felt that deeply.
This wasn't just one of my favorite books this year, it goes on the list of all-time favorite books. I wish I had this kind of writing style. I'll be returning to this again and again.
Zachary Ying and the Dragon Emperor by Xiran Jay Zhao
A middle-grade novel about a Chinese-American teen who feels a bit alienated from his heritage, which becomes a bit of an issue once he finds out the First Emperor of China has possessed his A.R. Gaming Headset. Now he needs to close a portal to the underworld with the help of other kids possessed by emporers.
This was a whole lot of fun, and often quite poignant. I was unsure if I could really enjoy middle-grade books as an adult, and this absolutely proves I can. There's a lot of really interesting Chinese history blended with action-packed fantasy, and exploration of the complicated feelings a kid can have about their own heritage . The dynamic between Zachary and Qin Shi Huang was so entertaining with the Emperor being villainous, heroic, charismatic, detestable-- and Zachary realizing how his complicated feelings about him mirror his relationship with his culture at large. There was also a lot of fun with other historical figures, and Xiran's take on Wu Zetian is a joy. (Also, if you like Yu-Gi-Oh!, you'll probably like this, since Xiran says it was one of their influences).
Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle
Rose is young woman who's raised in a fundamentalist Christian household, and she's a devout, obedient daughter. But some weird things are happening. She's seeing a terrifying demon everywhere, insects are coming out of her mouth....and she's possibly having feelings about other girls. What's going on?
Yes, this is by the Chuck Tingle who makes all those Tinglers. But THIS one... will make you tingle with fear! It's a great horror novel! It's skin-crawlingly creepy at times, but also does a great job digging into how fundamentalist dogma harms queer people, and the hypocrisy of such beliefs. The conversion camp aspect is handled tastefully, and overall it was a great spooky read that's also ultimately very affirming, cathartic, and hopeful.
Qualia the Purple by Hisamitsu Ueo
You might go into this thinking it's just a quirky yuri light novel about a schoolgirl and her crush who sees everyone around her as robots (like literally, when she looks at someone she sees a robot instead of a human). But it quickly becomes surreal queer psychological horror steeped in absolutely wild applications of quantum mechanics and thought-provoking time travel.  Some of the quantum mechanics  exposition dumps were a bit much but I deeply enjoyed having my mind cracked open by this book.
It's one of the most interesting takes of time loop stories I've seen. But it definitely covers a lot of rough subject matter, including a relationship with a serious age gap and extremely messed up relationships, so be cautious if you have triggers.
Tumblr media
Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield
This book follows Miri, whose wife goes missing on a deep-sea submarine mission for six months. Miri thought her wife dead, but she miraculously returns one day...but her wife has changed. She's like a stranger. She may have bought the horrors of the sea home with her.
This is a gripping exploration of grief and loss combined with a delicious, slow horror that creeps under your skin. There's excellent Lovecraftian and body horror elements to the novel, but it works very effectively as a metaphor for a loved one going through trauma, and a relationship starting to crumble because everything seems different. A moment that really stuck out to me is when Miri copes with her wife's disappearance by frequenting an online community where women roleplay as wives with husbands missing in space. The way the online drama of the community interacted with her grief was  both funny and heartbreaking.
This is another example of a book that makes me deeply jealous with its lyrical writing, and another one for the ever-lengthening all time favorites list.
Otherside Picnic Volume 8: Accomplices No More by Iori Miyazawa
The latest entry in a series about two girls exploring an alternate dimension full of creepypasta monsters, while also falling in love with each other. See my other reviews here and here.
This volume has the payoff to a lot of careful character work and relationship building, and it was completely satisfying. In fact, it was...show-stopping. Spectacular.  Incredible. I loved the exploration of how love, sex, and romance are so different for different people and it's impossible to put it in neat boxes. The frank and messy conversation our leads have about their relationship was perfect and so was that absolutely  bonkers, wonderful finale. This is another one for the all times favorite list, and I loved it so much I wrote a extremely long review/recap here.
Queer Ducks (and Other Animals): The Natural World of Animal Sexuality by Eliot Schrefer
This was a well-researched, well-crafted, easy to read book that explores queerness (mainly homosexuality, bisexuality, trans and genderfluid expressions in animals, and even the question of if and how animals can related to gender) in the animal kingdom. Though it's definitely aimed at teens, I learned a lot from it (who knew female bonobos were such life goals) and it presented its information in a fun way. It included some interesting examinations of how proof of homosexuality and bisexuality in animals was historically suppressed and filtered through homophobic assumptions. If you want to learn a little animal science in an accessible format, definitely check this out.
Night’s Edge by Liz Kerin
The story follows Mia, a woman in her 20's living with her vampire mother. Her whole life revolves around not drawing suspicion towards her Mom. She also has to make sure to feed her Mom some of her blood every night--lest her mother fall back in with her abusive boyfriend and start hunting humans.  But when Mia meets a cute girl, she starts to dream of living her own life...
It was a really interesting use of vampirism as a metaphor for both living with a parent struggling with addiction and having an abusive parent. It's just a well-told, heartwrenching tale that got deep into the character's mindsets. I thought the ending was bit abrupt and rushed, but it did make more sense once I realized this was the first in a duology. It's a fascinating take on vampires, and I'm interested in seeing more.

The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty
This novel follows a middle-aged Muslim female pirate living around the Arabian Peninsula. She's supposed to be in retirement, but wouldn't you know it, she's lured in for one last job! I she rescues a kidnapped girl,  she'll have all the riches she needs to set her family up for life. So Amina begins her adventure of fighting demons and monsters and ex-husbands. But the job might not be all it seems.
This novel is full of all the entertaining swashbuckling action and shenanigans that any pirate story should have. It's a rollicking good time, and feeds my craving for middle aged women going on quests and kicking ass. Amina's journey is a fun, wild ride full of dynamic characters and interesting mythology!
Yellowface by R.F. Kuang
Juniper is friends with a successful Chinese-American author, Athena Liu, and has always been deeply jealous of her. When Athena dies in front of her, Juniper decides to steal her manuscript rooted in Chinese history and claim it as her own. But plagiarism might catch up with her...
This is a strong example of a book I thought was really well-done, but one I'm probably never going to read again. The way it depicted Twitter drama is just too accurate and I got anxiety. It did such a good job putting you in Juniper's awful shoes so you can feel the pressure close in along with her. The book's commentary on the insidious racism of the publishing industry was effective, and it made a horrible character's journey fascinating to follow. I was so intrigued yet anxious I had to force myself to finish the last few pages.
Bonus read:
Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldtree
A very cute novel about an orc named Viv who decides to retire from the violent life of a bounty hunter and run a coffee shop instead. She ends up getting a lot of assistance from a succubus named Tandri...and my, is that a slow-burn coffee shop romance brewing? This book reminds me a lot of various cozy slice-of-life anime, and it's nice to be getting more of that feeling in book form. I wish there was a little more specific to the fantasy world rather than making it a coffee shop that line up 1 to 1 to a modern day shop, but it was definitely a sweet read.

Vica Pacheco/Maria Bertel/Ying-Hsueh Chen - 29/04/2023 - at Intonal
The Mexican-born artist and musician enlists the Danish trombonist and Taiwanese percussionist/multi-instrumentalist for a live soundtrack for the world premiere of her original animation.
Commisioned SHAPE+ work.
Pacheco studied art in Mexico City and France, and while her work is rooted in experimental music and composition, she also has a plastic practice ranging from ceramics to 3D animation. Chen was educated at the Juilliard School and the Royal Danish Academy of Music, has won several awards in USA and Denmark, and her concerts have been broadcast on national and international radio and TV in Denmark, USA, Taiwan, and South Korea. The “Ancestral Modernism” concert series, in which primordial sonic experiences are delivered by bringing out the universality of avant-garde and ancestral heritage, is a milestone among her projects. Bertel is a co-founder of the Copenhagen-based art collective eget værelse and apart from her work as a solo artist, she performs and composes in groups like GESH (with drummer Jaleh Negari), Selvhenter (the notorious noise rock band), an improvised noise duo with Nina Garcia, the G.E.K duo with saxophone player Johannes Lund, and more.
Ita means flower in Mixteco, the indigenous Mesoamerican culture in the Mexican region of Oaxaca – where Pacheco was born. Deeply inspired by Oskar Fischinger’s animations for music, Ernst Haeckel’s artistic-scientific drawings, and observations of nature, ITA evokes organic, living elements that create a network in constant movement.

He thought this was Captain Cross's duty to serve as escort, but it was a unanimous agreement among those within the Noire faction, that of the three higher ranking knights, Troy was best to stand at their princess's side throughout the day. He was younger, not nearly as intimidating as Captain Cross or Reginaldus, & fit the role of 'dashing knight' much more.
Still, it felt strange to Troy to stand present as Princess Suzanne completed what small things were left of her fitting. She well already donned most of her attire. Her black & white dress she had chosen sometime ago with white speckled pantyhose visible at the bottom & up the slit of said dress; she had yet to step into her black ankle strap heels that waited by her side. Two necklaces dangling from her neck, a low hanging flower one that rested upon her chest(& came with matching stud flower earrings) & a black choker that was adored with camellian diamonds. Her hair was left low, with but a single braid & waves that weaved through raven locks like ripples in the sea at night, & a diamond tiara that rested at the crown of her head, which he would not be surprised if he heard it was an article from the Crown Jewels. Sue was adjusting the gloves to her person, fingerless & solid black, sliding them up her arms, while Mary waiting for the chance they were settled to slip dual diamond bracelets onto her mistress's left wrist. Once they had been, the princess turned to slip into her heels, such allowed Troy to see her face finally, & her makeup was minimal. Nothing more then some smoky eye & red tinted lip oil to highlight her best features, the rest was left to glow in their natural state.
Somehow Troy was left unsurprised. Princess Suzanne was a great beauty, she did not need buckets & buckets of makeup to hide under.
Tumblr media
"There you are, your highness."
Tumblr media
"You look very beautiful, Princess."
Tumblr media
"Thank you, I know." Her confidence never slipped, even today. "Well? Shall we get this over with?" She held her hand up, waiting for Troy, if he's going to play escort, might as well play the part in full.
Tumblr media
"Of course, your highness." Of which, Troy took, knowing well the roll. Another royal birthday.

An overly nervous Arabella’s eyes passed between those that sat at the table with her. The dining room of Front Palace was hardly ever used for dinner parties, that was what the banquet hall was for, but given the small amount of people here, it was more fitting. Still, the viscount’s illegitimate daughter felt as if she did not belong here, among these ladies of not only higher rank, but of true noble blood.
The Crown Princess Ann sat at one of the most center seat at the table, with her younger sister, Princess Suzanne, across from her. On Ann’s left was Arabella, suiting for her as Ann’s lady-in-waiting, & on her right was her other lady-in-waiting, Kassandra Bexley, with Lady Cherry Dorweal being beside Arabella, & Lady Adelaida Marsh being beside Kassandra. On Sue’s left was her one & only lady-in-waiting, the beautiful Mary Bexley, & on her right was the only other noblewoman the princess liked, Lady Zatanna Dorweal, with Catherine Bexley being seated beside her sister Mary.
It was only a ladies' luncheon. Not abnormal for there to be between a group of noble ladies that were close with one another, it was no different from a tea party really, but with the dreadful summer heat outside, an indoor luncheon was the better choice.
Maids quietly hustled around the table, placing perfectly prepared & plated lamb loins & side salads before each noble lady, & offering to pour red wine into their empty wine glasses, as they have only had water up until now. Arabella was ever even quieter, however, watching as Mary, Catherine Kassandra & Adelaide whispered gossips to each other, & the three Bexley siblings caught up with one another. As well as Cherry, Zatanna, Suzanne & Ann chatted as a pair of siblings did, with the lot of them all beginning to start into their lamb loins.
Tumblr media
“...” Meanwhile, Arabella had yet to even speak outside of the greetings she gave to everyone when she first arrived, began into her side salad first. The viscountess’s scolding of always having to mind her manners & weight having been well hammered into her skull, always eat the healthy choice first, it’s better for you.
Tumblr media
“Lady Arabella, is your lamb alright?”
Tumblr media
“Ah-” The red-headed jointed up rightly, not expecting anyone to speak to her. “... Oh, uh. I haven’t tried it yet, I always eat salads first if their provided. B-but I’m sure it’s delicious!”
Tumblr media
“It is!” A clearly quite pleased Cherry stated, before properly filling her mouth with her third slice of lamb out of the five on the plate, while everyone else had only started into their second slices.
Tumblr media
“Don’t be coy, St.Buckingham.” Sue began, fork full of lamb. “We invited you to lunch, you might as well indulge in some of the finest dining you’ll ever eat in Camellia.” The princess was well aware of the dietary practices of the nobility, especially of the lower ranks of noble women. Women who did not have the same status & wealth of the higher ranks, so were expected to be beautiful to make up for such; especially by their parents. This was not a time for diet monitoring.
Arabella felt her face flush a bit, but... who is she to say no to a princess? Salad fork is placed down, & she picks up the dinner fork instead. Taking a slice of lamb onto said fork &...
“...!” Oh. Oh my. It was delicious! Juicy, yet not with an unpleasant squishy texture. It was the finest piece of meat she had ever tasted, better then anything she’s ever had even at the Viscount St. Buckingham’s estate. “It’s... it’s amazing!” The red-head couldn’t help but cry out between chews, eyes wide. Unladylike, but it made Cherry, Zatanna & Adelaide chuckle.
Tumblr media
“You should get used to it, Lady Arabella.” Mary looked to the Viscount’s daughter with a smile. “As the crown princess’s new lady-in-waiting, you will be dining with royalty a bit more regularly now.”
Tumblr media
“Dining... with royalty more regularly?” Both the suggestion, & having the radiant beauty of Mary Bexley smile at her, brought a new flush of color to Arabella’s cheeks. How, what could she, a illegitimate child of a low ranking nobleman, have done to deserve such a honor? This was hardly befitting of someone of half-blood, yet she felt so blessed. “I’m... I’m honored for even this single meal. Are you sure your royal highness wishes to have me around for more meals?”
Tumblr media
“Of course I do!” Ann’s answer was quite quick. Like she didn’t need to think about it. “You are wonderful company, Lady Arabella, sweet, kind & humble, prefect to be my lady.”
Tumblr media
“...” Shoot, she was being to nice. Why was the heir to the Camellian throne being so nice to a rotten half-blood? Arabella knows that it’s a secret, but still, she feels like this kindness to be given to someone of real noble blood, like the ladies at this very table. “You are... much too kind to me, your royal highness, I’m blessed.”

Have you seen Winterfraud on Wordpress, it shows Benjanun using slurs and being racist, classist and transmisogynistic on some channer-esque gaming forum while touting her social justice values on her RequiresHate blog? I’d also recommend searching her name on here because somebody mentioned she was apparently involved in the Isabel Fall situation but immediately shut up when people decided that being cruel to Fall was a bad thing. Rin Chupeko also claimed she told her to get r*ped by dogs as well.
oh yes, her batshit transphobic exploits on the gaming forums is documented in the Mixon report (which makes it extremely gross that she re-labels herself as an ally author of books with transgender characters), and I have no doubt that she's been behaving atrociously since then, hasn't changed or showed a shred of remorse, and never particularly bothered to cover her tracks very well. but i figure out the initial cluster of links is enough to inform people who're completely uninformed, and prompt them to investigate more if needed. and if those files aren't enough for some people, well. alas.

for posterity: benjanun sriduangkaew on people without healthcare dying from covid
Tumblr media
yeah, pretty much. they're bitter little freaks, and I'm pleased that 1) considering where most of them live, they'll probably get reinfected by COVID over and over and 2) will not ever amount to anything.
and 3) there's no free healthcare for what those reinfections will do to their bodies. What a pleasing world.

Friend's don't do things like that.
Tumblr media
Hi guys!
This is a request from my prompt that you can find here :)
Also sorry for the decrease of my writings, but I have to admit that I don't have a lot of ideas for the moment and I hate more and more what I write. I hope it passes quickly.
Enjoy!
Woso prompt 12. Friend's don't do things like that with Lia Wälti
TW : None?
______________________________________________________________
You don’t get to see Lia very often. You play in Manchester City while she plays at Arsenal and only when you are both called up to the national team can you really spend time together. This doesn't prevent you from writing to eachother every day and calling very regularly too.
It’s been many years now that you have developed a crush for Lia, you appreciate her simplicity, naturalness, humor and calm. You have the impression that she is the ying of your yang and you sometimes have the impression that she also feels something for you in return. Other times you feel like it’s just platonic.
It's therefore with great joy that you welcome Lia when she arrives at the hotel reserved by the Swiss Federation for your training camps, not hesitating to take her in your arms to spin her in the air. It seems to amuse her, even if she ends up tapping you on the shoulder to demand that you put it on the ground. What you do with an amused smile, before sticking a noisy kiss on her cheek.
"I missed you" Lia say, pinching your cheek.
"I missed you too" you smile in return before dragging her with you towards the reception.
The rooms have already been allocated and you are unfortunately not in the same room as her. You’re with Ramona while Lia is with Ana-Maria and that’s kind of what you’re used to. But you always have the small hope that you will find each other together.
"I’ll go to my room, but I’ll see you later yes?"
You nod, a slight smile on your face. Lia puts a kiss on your cheek when she arrives at the right door before entering. On your side you have already unpacked your things and wisely put your clothes in the reserved part of the cupboards of the room that you share with Ramona. She is also lying on her bed when you return to your room.
"Is Mausi here?" smirks Ramona without lifting her gaze from her phone.
"Shut up" you roll your eyes and fall on your bed. "We’re just friends."
Ramona scoffs and you find yourself looking at the ceiling without really knowing what to do. Usually when you’re in Manchester, you take advantage of the moments when you don’t have to do anything to write to Lia. But now that she’s here, it doesn’t make much sense. You just regret not being with her right now.
You meet Lia at dinner time, sitting next to her. There are media around you that take souvenir photos or mini-videos for Instagram, but you are now used to that. You pay no attention to it, yours is entirely turned towards Lia. After dinner, some decide to go back to their rooms or watch TV, but you feel Lia’s hand on your knee.
"Come for a walk with me?"
She doesn’t have to ask you twice. A few minutes later, you are in the streets of Lucerne, accompanied by Lia but also by Noelle and Ramona. The last two walk side by side and you’re on your side next to Lia. She grabbed your arm to walk and you feel strange butterflies dancing in the pit of your stomach, so much so that you have to focus on what she tells you so as not to pass for a crazy.
You let her release your arm when you get to a bridge and the other three want to take a picture, holding back from pouting at the loss of contact with Lia.
"Y/N comes in the photo"
You don’t really have a choice because Noelle draws you against her, making the other two laugh. You roll your eyes and pull your tongue on the photo. And once the photo is checked by Lia, she pinches your cheekin again with a playful air.
"Stop doing this" you laugh, chasing her hand away.
Lia’s laughter turns your stomach and you don't release her hand when you resume your walk. You feel Lia intertwine her fingers with yours and everything seems to make sense in those moments. When you look at her she smiles at you and this is exactly the kind of moment that makes you hope that something might happen between you.
********
"You know" begins Ramona as you both sit in your bedd, a few hours later "Friend’s don’t do things like that."
"What are you talking about?" you turn your head in her direction.
"Holding hands while walking, exchanging complicit looks, laughing and discussing with each other as if no one else existed around…"
You remain silent for a long time, staring at the ceiling. Like every time you think of Lia, you feel your mind navigate between hope and resignation. Lia is four years older than you, but you always got along very well. You didn’t show how much it hurted you when she got in relationship with other girls and you supported her as best you could when they broke up, remaining impartial while being there for your friend.
"I’m not sure Lia is interested in me more than for friendship" you end up saying in a low voice.
"I really think you’re wrong" Ramona simply replies.
"Lia is perfect. She is kind, she is talented, she is understanding and… beautiful. And me... I'm just me."
"Well I'm more into brunette dancer, but you're not bad yourself you know"
You snorts, before saying goodnight and rolling on your side. All of your thoughts are towards Lia now, but little did you know that Lia is thinking about you too. You were almost asleep when your phone vibrate discreetly on your nightstand.
Lia 🥰 Are you asleep?
You Almost. What's going on?
Lia 🥰 I can't sleep 🤷🏼‍♀️
You Why?
Lia 🥰 I don't know. Ana's snoring doesn't help to be honest 🙄
You Next time you’ll ask to be with me in the room, I don’t snore 😂 But if Ana's snoring doesn't help, it means you have something else in mind?
Lia 🥰 Maybe
You What is it?
Lia 🥰 I can't talk about it by messages
You You want to go for a walk in the hotel?
Lia 🥰 I'm coming to your room
Being careful not to wake Ramona up, you quietly get up from your bed. You put on your national team’s sweatpants and hoodie, mechanically glancing at the mirror next to the door to make sure your hair is presentable. You put a few locks in place before opening the door, noticing that Lia is already there.
"Hi" you whisper smiling when you closed the door discreetly behind you.
Lia smiles at you and reaches out to you, and you don’t hesitate to grasp her hand. You let her take you with her, without asking where she wants to go. Already because as long as you are with her nothing else matters and also because you have full confidence in her. If you can have time just with her, you’d agree to sit on the ground in the middle of the street in a pouring rain. Maybe you need to think about how crazy you are about her and its psychological repercussions, but let’s save it for a sleepless night.
However, you soon realize that Lia has brought you to the games room, consisting of darts, a ping-pong table, a pinball machine and a TV with an Xbox. There are several seating areas arranged and another with bean bags. This is where Lia drags you, but she decides to settle on the same as you. They are big and there is plenty of room for both of you, but this chosen proximity gives you palpitations in the belly.
You take the opportunity to put your head on her shoulder and you can't help but smile when you feel her arm pass around your waist to tighten you against her. But, despite your extreme comfort, you quickly realize that the brunette seems to be thoughtful tonight. This brings you back to the conversation you had earlier by messages and you raise your eyes on her face before resuming speaking.
"What's in your mind, Lia?"
Lia looks at you and seems to think a few seconds before answering you.
"I’ve been thinking a lot about my love life lately" ended up whispering Lia.
"Have you met someone?" you ask innocently, your heart clinging to the idea.
"Not really"
You bow an eyebrow while looking at her and you try to understand better just by diving into her green eyes. But you can’t find anything, even when she looks back at you.
"I don’t understand" you admit, shrugging your shoulders.
Lia straightens up a little and you imitate her, feeling a slight cold sensation where her arm was around you. But you decide to ignore it, focusing on the face of your interlocutor.
"I realize I’ve lost a lot of time with some choices I’ve made. Or non-choice, maybe too. And that maybe it’s too late now"
"Too late for what?" you ask, completely lost.
"You?"
You’re so stunned you need a few seconds to react. Lia watches you closely, and you feel a wave of chills take over your entire body when she puts a strand of your hair behind your ear.
"Please say something" Lia asks softly after a few moments, almost in agony.
"Lia, if this is a joke…"
"No! Of course not, I would never joke about such a subject"
Deep down, you know it's true. But this moment seems so unreal to you that you have two choices. Either you are dreaming or Lia doesn’t care about you. However, it seems that it's not the case, the Swiss woman looks at you with apprehension and seems to be waiting desperately for you to say something else.
"I’ve been in love with you for years, Lia" you end up whispering while you look at her. "I’ve been waiting for years for you to tell me this and now that it’s happening, I don’t even know what to say. I'm so stupid."
"You don’t need to say anything yet" Lia smiles, her smile going bigger when you frown. "Just kiss me"
You smile first, but then you delicately drag her against you with your hand on her neck. Your lips met and you feel like your heart might explode at any moment.
Waiting for her was the hardest thing ever, but when you have her against you like that, her arm around you and her lips pressing against yours, you can swear it was worth it.
