--"Replaced Miracle AU"--🐆✨🕯️
An Encanto au where Antonio is now the protagonist without a gift, Mirabel is the outcast who left casita at the age of 15, and after Alma's death, Pepa was the new matriarch, but things didn't go well after that.

Matriarch Dolores Pepa AU
Here’s the version with the warm family! :D
Thanks to @certifiedbraingenius for some ideas!
Enjoy!
Pepa considered herself pretty happy. She often spend time with her parents and sister, particularly her mother. And Pepa had friends who she hang out and gossiped with. Sure, she despised her younger brother for being considered a loser by their peers, but things were great for her!
Until they got even better when she met Félix.
The two instantly connected and fell in love. Soon, they moved in together and got married.
Eventually, they were blessed with two children. First Dolores, and 6 years later Camilo.
Life was perfect for Pepa. Sure, she and Félix weren’t that close with their children, particularly Dolores, but the couple couldn’t be happier.
And the couple were happier when they found out they were expecting again.
But on the 21th of May 1945, the day their baby Antonio was born, the town the family lived in got raided by bandits…
They immediately fled. Félix grabbed Camilo, Pepa grabbed her and her husband’s wedding candle and Dolores grabbed Antonio and the family fled the town, heading to the mountains.
But they weren’t safe there either, because the bandits followed them…
Thinking there’s no other choice, Félix sacrificed himself for his family…
Pepa wept and fell to the ground as she saw her husband die. Dolores was holding Antonio while also trying to shield Camilo from seeing it…
Then, the miracle was born. Mountains rose from the grass and a living house was formed.
But Pepa was too distraught to care. The second she stepped into the house and discovered her room, she immediately shut herself in, pushing her children aside to grief…
And from that moment on, Dolores lost her mother…
Unlike Pepa, Dolores didn’t have time to grieve. She had to take care of Antonio because mamá wouldn’t…
And the second the townspeople needed guidance, Dolores stepped up as well, because mamá didn’t bother…
She was forced to step up as the matriarch at 16 years old, because her mother wouldn’t…
As for Camilo, he was too busy trying to take care of Pepa. He’d bring her tea, comfort her whenever he was with her, and act as constant support for her, almost like a parent would do…
As a result, Pepa saw him as her golden child, spoiling him whenever she had any energy to do something.
Pepa barely even knew that her kids got gifts. Dolores got weather control with her emotions, and Camilo got shapeshifting…
But for Dolores, life went on as she had to take care of Antonio and the town…
It went on like that for a while…
And unsurprisingly, Antonio called Dolores mamá, seeing her as the one who was there and took care of him.
He even thought that Pepa was his Abuela who was mean and often snapped at him.
Camilo would scold Antonio for that, saying that “Dolores is NOT your mamá! She’s our sister who likes to play parent!”.
It wasn’t any better with Pepa. She saw Antonio as a reminder of the raid and Félix’s death, and would often yell at him to get out of her sight, and overal having a much shorter temper around him.
Since Félix’s death was on Antonio’s birthday, Pepa would make all of her youngest son’s birthdays about Félix. This obviously saddened Antonio greatly. At least Dolores celebrated his birthdays with him in secret, but still…
Pepa didn’t even show up at her youngest son’s ceremony…
And Dolores? Well, she still had to lead a town and raise Antonio at 21 years old, she had been for 5 years with barely any support. At least Señora Guzmán was there for her, guiding her while encouraging to take a break.
If Dolores was honest, the woman was more of a mother than her own had ever been…
The town respected the young matriarch, even when it seemed too much for Dolores.
But she had to be strong for the town, for Antonio. Because if she didn’t do it, no one will…

i like the theory that mirabel becomes the next matriarch and all what I don’t like is people assuming this happens straight after the movie. “In encanto 2 mirabel should be the matriarch” judging by time jumps used in sequels this would roughly make mirabel 17/18 since they usually only skip 2-3 years ahead. How about we dont burden her with that and wait until she’s like idk 25??? like there is 0 reason the second alma retires that it NEEDS to be mirabel. What about julieta and pepa!? i do see mirabel as a future matriarch but just not a near future one! let her enjoy her childhood pls

Encanto: Madrigal Family Relationship Analysis Part 30 - Isabela and Bruno
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both are the golden child of their respective generations/sibling groups. Both always under the ever-demanding pressure of strict matriarch, Alma. And both, in their own ways, emotionally drifted away from their families, even having a strained relationship with one of their sisters. Despite their outwardly different demeanors, both uncle and niece have much in common. And I believe this is one of the reasons why Isabela was one of the few who spoke highly of him during WDTAB; he was one of the few who could truly understand the pressure she was under. On his end, Bruno deeply loves his niece, just as much as he does his other nieces and nephews. And I think Bruno would be one she would listen to with utmost reverence (possibly only seconded by Dolores and Mirabel). Bruno, like with all his nieces and nephews, loves Isabela with all his heart; I believe he would help give her advice on how to better cope with the trauma of being the "Golden Child". Like with Pepa, Bruno would encourage Isabela to explore her powers while Isabela would encourage Bruno to pursue his own personal passions (i.e., acting). While Bruno and Isabela are closer to Mirabel and Pepa, respectively, the uncle and niece have a quiet understanding of one another and are all about supporting each other in being their genuine selves.

Julieta - enhanced hearing
Pepa - shapeshifting
Bruno - communication with animals
Isabela - weather manipulation via emotions
Dolores - giftless
Luisa - future vision

What miraculous do you think are the ideal matches for the madrigals?
Also I love your art
It depends on if you want to go by a strict gift basis or personality. Some of those aren't exclusive though-
TLDR-
Julieta- Wayzz, Alma- Nooroo or Liiri, Pepa- Daizzi/Longg, Bruno- Sass or Tikki, Felix- Diazzi, Augustin- Kalkki, Isabela- Pollen, Dolores- Longg or Barkk, Luisa- Pollen & Duusu, Camilo- Pollen, Antonio- Duusu/unclear, and Mirabel- any of them really.
Bonus Turtle Julieta who didn't make it into AVB- Her name is Hicotea
Tumblr media
Julieta for example I think would do well with the turtle both because it's the closest to her gift (since besides the ladybug there isn't a healing power) and I think she and Wayzz would get along well.
Alma would theoretically either have the butterfly (Matriarch deal) or the Ladybug and Cat. But I don't think she'd get along with any of the kwamis very well. Maybe Liiri, but she'd not here.
Pepa would power wise have the dragon, and I think in personality it fits okay. But I would personally either give her Wayzz or Daizzi. Possibly also Orikko.
Bruno would have either Fluff or Sass based on his gift and I think he'd get along with both. I also think he and Tikki would get along (hence Cochineal) and Plagg would have a similar dynamic with him that he does with Adrien, albeit less parental/familial, more platonic. I think he and Mullo would also get along.
Felix would get along with Daizzi, Ziggy, or Orikko. All three seem to thrive on holders with high energy and positive attitude
Augustin could do well with Wayzz and possible Kaalki, since she's probably help with his clumsiness through sheer determination. As well as Stompp who would go "Fuck it, lets just throw shit." I gave him Sass in AVB since I figured he'd be willing to try a million times to get it right, but its not my fist pick.
Isabela would probably do best with Pollen, both because haha Bee, but also- Pollen is a very loyal bee. She calls Isabela her queen but if her queen wants to throw color bombs and do fancy acrobatics with vines? Bravo! Keep going. I stand by the idea that Isabela and Longg could never really get along. Second choices would be Xuppu or Trixx since they'd encourage her to have fun but Trixx for sure would not let her get away with being bitchy. Tikki would also probably do her good.
Dolores could still do well with Mullo at the best of times but I'd be more inclined to give her Pollen, Longg, or Barkk. Pollen and Long would be very respectful of her sensitive hearing while still helping push her, and Barkk would bite anyone being too loud. She is very loyal. Dolores would probably also do well with Plagg for the simple fact he is high demand for food, but very apathetic the rest of the time.
Luisa would match with Roaar in terms of gifts but personality wise I think Pollen, Duusu, Kalkki, or Barkk. With I think Pollen or Duusu being the strongest two.
Camilo would match with Trixx for powers but I wasn't kidding in A Lawless Cat when I said I thought he'd make a good Bee. They're leaders and need to hold attention, but can get in a good sting if you turn your back. Other pick would be Orikko.
Antonio I think does well with the Peacock but otherwise he's a bit to young to know what other miraculous he would thrive with. His compassion would potentially also do well with the butterfly.
And now Mirabel, the character who i think has the widest picks.
Sticking to Cannon Encanto Mirabel I still think she'd have the widest variety. Obviously Nooroo is the top pick, Mirabel likes to help people but most of the time she's teaching them to help themselves first. Even to her own detriment. I think she and Tikki would thrive as two creative spirits, same with Ziggy. Her compassion and good understanding of feelings and others, would make her do well with Duusu. Plagg would encourage ehr to fight for herself, Liiri would want her to break free. Xuupu, Trixx, Orikko, and Diazzi would help her bring fun back into her life as well as spread her strengths to others. She's intuitive enough to work well with Sass, Roarr would push her to take power into her hands and be heard. Stompp would teach her to defend herself. The only kwami I think she wouldn't get on perfectly with is Longg, but even then it wouldn't be particularly bad. It's just that- Mirabel has specifically gone her whole life seeing herself as Imperfect which would strain her connection to him.

Greek mythology gifts! Greek gods bless the Madrigal family!
Alma is the Matriarch and family is so important to her so she is Blessed By Hera.
Bruno and Felix were both blessed by Apollo, Bruno because of his abilities with Being a Seer and For his Arts and Felix for his dancing
Antonio is an extremely lucky and rare blessed by Artemis who doesn’t usually bless men but his ability with animals is good
Isabela was obviously blessed by Aphrodite but she and Pepa were also both blessed by Demeter
Dolores was blessed by Hermes as her role in the family is useful for messaging
Casita itself was blessed by Hestia as was Alma and Mirabel as it is their jobs to keep the miracle burning though They both thought that was a literal sense
Julieta was blessed by the god Asclepius, son of Apollo and god of medicine
Luisa was blessed by Hercules himself
And Camilo was blessed by a sea god who was known for shapeshifting
WOWOWOWAOA
Listen I don't go much into Greek mythology (I've seen all of one PJ movie 💀💀) but this is rad❗❗❗ honestly with no context. And ignoring how...interesting Greek mythology can get, THIS IS COOL 🥸🥸 coming from someone who has no knowledge, I think they fit well 🤧🤧

in the spirit of the season (mutuals posting about their encanto aus) i wanted to post about mine bc i love them and am not active enough on here and wanna change that bc sharing my stuff is fun! so without further ado here they are lol
next gen au
pretty self explanatory. the story outlines what all the madrigals (mostly the grandkids) are up to in the years following the movie. mirabel gradually takes on more of a leadership role as time passes and eventually becomes the matriarch after alma's death and with enough time to prepare for the role. under her leadership, the madrigals are less shoehorned into roles and are encouraged to express themselves more freely, but being the leader still isn't easy and things still aren't perfect - while alma is still alive, mirabel often finds herself going to her for advice and repairing their bond further in the process. she also gets a gf (lorena), i've been playing around with the idea of her being an outsider that finds her way into the encanto but i would have to flesh that plot out a little more before i make it official. dolores eventually marries mariano, but only on her terms - she realizes quickly after the movie that though she loves mariano, she wants to take things slow, and mariano is more than happy to respect that. he puts in a lot of effort to understand how her gift works and help her out with it whenever he can, and for once, she feels like the one being heard. isabela, now free of her old role as the golden child, begins to let her more adventurous side out, exploring the outskirts and forests of the encanto to observe the plant life. she hones her gift and is able to bring even more exotic plant species to the encanto and starts up a very successful garden. she also ends up marrying two village women - lilli and rosa - and the three of them adopt a daughter, jacinda, together and spoil her rotten. lilli runs a flower shop and isa helps her out immensely with this. luisa finally learns to take it easy, prioritizing rest and relaxation after so many years of working hard to serve the community - though she definitely still loves to lift and hang out with the donkeys in her spare time bc old habits die hard. she probably takes over the care and raising of the donkeys as a whole bc they love her. she marries a village woman, inés, and they adopt two daughters, valentina and ciela. camilo is actually the first grandkid to settle down - he marries his childhood best friend and love of his life marco, and the two of them have six children together - amelia, imelda, brunito, ignacio, felipe, and sofia. they have their hands quite full with fatherhood but on top of that marco works as a teacher at the encanto's school while camilo continues to volunteer in the community, eventually becoming the drama director and soccer coach for the school. antonio grows up and starts his own animal sanctuary in the encanto that becomes wildly successful. he enlists dolores' help to scope out any injured or sick animals in the forests and nurses them back to health at the sanctuary, and he often accompanies isa on her trips to the forest to keep taxonomy records of the encanto's diverse wildlife. he never had much of an interest in romance - though plenty of people swoon over his kindness to the animals - but he is very fulfilled nonetheless and couldn't be happier helping take care of his animal friends. i have a more detailed timeline and bios for the kids that i'll be posting eventually but this is the main rundown of where the grandkids are at years down the line!
swap
essentially follows the plot of the movie but the sides of the family swap roles. instead of alma, pedro is the head of the family. pepa has the gift of healing food and felix is her clumsy husband, camilo is the golden child with the wonderful floral gift, dolores is the middle child with the gift of super strength, and antonio is the baby of his side of the family, cursed to a giftless existence (and being the main character of the storyline). on the other side of the family, julieta's emotions control the weather while agustin keeps her calm, luisa is the eldest with the ability to hear a pin drop from miles away, isabela is the mischievous shapeshifting middle child, and mirabel is the youngest member of the family and gains the ability to speak with animals. bruno is still bruno.  did i make this au entirely to put camilo in pretty pink outfits and make him a mean annoying gay? maybe.
pirates
the warm color family is a fearsome and renowned pirate crew descended from the notorious husband-wife pirate duo alma and pedro madrigal (the latter is dead and the former has long since retired), with pepa as the captain and felix as the first mate. pepa was estranged from her mother and siblings in her youth as she attempted to learn more about her parents' past, and she soon set out on her own to live the pirate life that alma tried so hard to keep her children out of. in the meantime, julieta and her family form their own rival crew and set sail in search of pepa to take their vengeance. bruno tries his best to be a good mama's boy and stay home, but he is soon taken hostage by the fearless captain hernando, a legendary pirate who has feuded with both madrigal sisters and their crews for a while now. he grows rather fond of his bargaining chip over time and bruno eventually becomes the captain's lover and first mate. when the sisters finally put aside their squabbles and unite to save their brother from their enemy's clutches, it's a very awkward family reunion. also everyone has their gifts and uses them to help their crew in one way or another. eventually when the two sides of the family unite, the grandkids take up a ship of their own with mirabel as the new captain.
roommates
marco and camilo are college roommates with luca and alberto. that's literally it no linear plot just vibes. luca is a first year astronomy student, alberto is a second year student and undeclared, marco and camilo are third years and marco is majoring in education while being on the soccer team and camilo is majoring in theatre (🤢). alberto and camilo despise each other but also camilo is lowkey crushing. camilo and marco are already dating and alberto and luca are also definitely together but heavily in denial about it. they fight over dishes being left in the sink and decorate their dorm all cute
the fall
wrote a ten chapter fic about this one so read that if you wanna know what it entails but tl;dr au where the family never recovers after the fall of casita and they go their separate ways, with dolores camilo and isa fully moving out, their whereabouts unknown - until, ten years later, mirabel takes it upon herself to track them down, reunite the family once and for all, and save the miracle for real this time. will she succeed? what have the runaways all been up to over these past ten years? read it and find out i'm not telling you! also this fic/au is quite old compared to the others so no marco 😔 fly high king
mamma mia
the silliest dumbest most self indulgent au ever. camilo centric of course. the storyline is literally just mamma mia but with camilo. he has twin daughters and one of them (ima) is getting married and wants to invite her other biological father to the wedding - the only problem is she doesn't know who that is, and if camilo's old diary describing all his old hookups in detail is to be believed,  there's three possibilities - marco osma, dante velazquez, and nicolas sorelli (the latter two are ocs, i'll probably post their bios at some point lol also nicolas is trans so he's definitely not the other dad but he's stealth so he's just going along for the ride). she invites all three of them to her wedding and they reunite with camilo for the first time in twenty years. drama ensues. camilo marries marco at the end regardless of if he's the dad or not (but he probably is - they never find out for sure). isa is tanya (so lilli is pepper ofc) and mirabel is rosie (except she doesn't end up with one of the dads at the end bc she actually respects herself). ima's fiancées identity is yet to be determined bc i don't have a partner oc for her but i do know she's a lesbian so. gay greek weddings! camilo in overalls! love wins!
runaway camilo
this one is a rewrite of the canon plot to a degree but not really enough to be considered a full on au. plays with the scrapped concept of camilo looking completely different after the fall of casita that didn't make it into the final movie, which is like one of my favorite concepts ever especially because of how easily it plays into trans camilo. in this rewrite, camilo has basically used his gift to masculinize himself perpetually since his ceremony, which all but cures his dysphoria - that is, until casita falls, he loses the gift he had become dependent on, and it all blows up in his face. he's unrecognizable when the dust clears, and rather than be seen in such a state, he flees the scene and goes missing just around the same time as mirabel. the family is split as pepa and felix go looking for their son while the cool color family goes looking for mirabel, and both are found within a few days - camilo in the depths of the forest, skin scraped and clothes ragged from running into the forest with reckless abandon, practically digging his own grave and ready to give up for good. when he's found, it takes a LONG time for him to allow anyone to see him, much less recover from the trauma. the rewrite basically involves these events and the aftermath. luckily camilo does get his gift back when casita is rebuilt but the scars are forever and he probably still has nightmares about losing his gift well into adulthood and has to learn to become comfortable going without his gift for short bouts of time in order to get more comfortable lest the worst case scenario happens again! more or less a transmilo angst fest add-on to the main plot of the movie. mimi needs a hug 💔

Picture Perfect...?
The Madrigals were all doing their own things today.
It had been 3 months since the Casita crashed, and the rebuild. They had all become closer than ever! Feeling like they've truly reunited properly.
Of course, they still had secrets...
Dolores, was sat in the main room, next to Mariano. Dolores was listening with excitement as Mariano spoke, his voice like music to her ears.
Camilo, was with Antonio, upstairs. They were running do the halls, Antonio was riding his Jaguar, parce, as Camilo tried to keep up.
Isabela was sat on her vine swing, decorated with new plants. She was tripping up Camilo every now an again by growing random plants.
Luisa was relaxing in a hammock, a drink in hand, her donkey-unicorn stuffie in the hammock next to her. Both laying in the sun.
Pepa was stood with Felix, both were charring by the bottom of the stairs, their conversation going unheard by the other Madrigals,
but it was clearly happy and loving, since Pepa's cheek were practically painted pink, and the sun was shining above the town, and Felix was sporting his loving, flirtatious smile at his wife, speaking to her in Spanish.
Bruno was sat in his bedroom, redecorating.
Julieta was sat outside with Agustìn, both enjoying the nice weather.
Alma was sat in the kitchen, sipping a cup of coffee as she read a book, a romance. But she wouldn't admit that.
And Mirabel was setting the plates for dinner.
"Mirabel, dinner isn't for a few hours yet?" Alma says, her head tilting up, her eyes going from her book to her granddaughter who had just finished setting the plates.
"Well, I like getting ready early, this way we don't spend time putting the plates out during dinner." Mirabel explains.
"And we repaired Tio Bruno's old plate! We wanna surprise him at dinner!" Mirabel smiles excitedly, her usual cheerfulness, radiating from her like light did from the sun.
"He'll love it, Nieta. How about you go play with your cousins? Or sisters?" Alma suggests, but it was more like an order.
"But I need -" Mirabel's excuse was cut short.
"No. No, I won't hear any of that, go enjoy the nice day -"
The sound of glass shattering filled the house, everyone jumped.
Pepa picked up thr photo, it was of Antonio's ceremony.
"Camilo! Antonio! You both need to be careful!" Pepa scolded her younger children, a cloud growing over her head.
"Mi Vida, look." Felix whispers, taking the picture, showing his wife. "Where's Mirabel? She isn't in the photograph."
At this, the entire family started to crowd around, peering at the picture.
"Mirabel?" Antonio asks, looking up, the entire family copied. They looked at Mirabel, who was stood at the entrance of the kitchen, her hands clasped infront of her, a nervous look on her face, as if she had done something wrong.
"Mirabel, why aren't you in the picture?" Pepa asks, her voice carried confusion and a hint of sadness.
Mirabel looked away, her fingers interlaced before her hands moved to her to her side.
"W, well, you all were really excited, a and I wasn't included, I don't have a gift, I guess you all just forgot to include me, but I get why, I mean, you need to have a gift to be a Madrigal!" Mirabel says quickly, her hands moving as she spoke, moving with her voice.
As Mirabel spoke, the look on the Madrigals' faces slowly turned to stunned sadness.
Pepa's clowd turned dark and a light drizzle started to pour down.
"M, mirabel, we forgot you?" *Julieta asked, staring at her daughter. "Why didn't you say? We could've redone it." She says. Walking up to her daughter.
"Well, you were all really happy, a and I didn't wanna be a bother, so I just...stayed quiet." Mirabel says.
"Oh Miraboo." Agustìn says lovingly and sadly, using her nickname only he could say, he hugged his daughter tightly.
"You could never be a bother. You're a part of the familia Madrigal!" He smiles, trying to lighten the mood.
"This won't do." Alma says firmly, her hands clasped together, the entire family looked up to their Matriarch, waiting for her to continue.
"Next week. We will have a party, for Mirabel's sixteenth birthday." Alma says, then looks directly at Mirabel "And Mirabel, you will be the centre of the photo." Alma says firmly but kindly, showing she genuinely meant her words. "We missed your gift ceremony, and your Quinceara. We will have to fix that."
"You really don't have to!" Mirabel tried to change their minds, but the family was already brainstorming.
"Out! The future birthday girls cannot hear the plan!" Camilo says, ushering Mirabel to the kitchen.
Mirabel chuckled. She knew her family was trying to make up for it all.
Familia Madrigal was healing. And it would take time
But they'd slowly heal the cracks.

Ris relationships with all the Madrigals:
Abuela/Alma: Ris somehow is very comforted and very intimidated by her at the same time. she’s the first person that seemed to understand Ris on a deeper level, and they’ll be forever grateful that she allowed them to stay in the enca/nto. But also she passes by and Ris immediately stands up straighter and becomes very respectful, does that make sense agkskg
Julieta: Ris wants her approval sooooo bad, they really admire her and they’d never admit it but she’s like the mom they never had
Agustin: Ris loves this guy, they joke around together a lot and I like to imagine he starts to teach them how to play the piano, also he’s like the dad they never had
Pepa: out of all the parents Ris and Pepa get along the best!! Whenever Pepa is feeling stressed/sad and gets stuck in the rain, Ris likes to sit with her and they just sort of feel sad together, if that makes sense, Ris also goes to Pepa for advice a LOT
Felix: Ris and Felix are the same type of laid back and go with the flow, so they get along great!! they’re also both jokesters and have a talent for bringing out the playfulness in people, I like to think Felix teaches Ris how to dance (they’re awful at it but they’re trying!!)
Bruno: are they best friends? brothers? uncle and niece or father and kid? all and none at the same time!! they’re very much found family but not in any specific way, they just mean a lot to each other and that’s that, Ris and Bruno bond over their OCD tendencies for SURE, and Bruno is the first one to suggest that maybe Ris’ power can bring comfort too
Isabela: gay people! 🎉 but for real they’re both very much creatives and bond over that, they enjoy parallel play with each other a LOT, they just find a lot of comfort and happiness being around each other and like seeing the world through each others eyes!! they’re also both the Last To Know about their feelings for each other, the siblings/cousins make this elaborate scheme to get them to realize they’re in love and it somehow works
Dolores: Ris gets easily embarrassed around her cause they feel like she Knows too much about them, but one time Dolores hears them singing (it’s their secret talent and they don’t like to sing around people) and she asks them about it and they have a heart to heart, after that they both think the other is just a sweetheart
Luisa: Ris relates to Luisa SO HARD, both feeling like they just have to keep a lid on everything and always be the reliable stable one, I think Ris takes on a bit of a big sibling role for her, providing her a space to be angry or sad or tired, I think Luisa looks up to them a lot
Camilo: I think Ris and Camilo love to cause trouble together, I think he sees them as The Cool Older Cousin and they’re one of the few people who can scold him and actually make an impression sgjskg, also he helps his dad teach Ris to dance (they need all the help they can get)
Mirabel: Ris thinks Mirabel’s connection to Casita is sooooo cool, and they’re the first person to suggest that the house chose her as Alma’s successor and the next matriarch, Mirabel thinks Ris is super cool and is one of the main people to help them explore their power more, but she thinks Ris and Isa’s crush on each other is obnoxious sgjskg
Antonio: Ris LOVES kids and gets along with Antonio really well!! they listen to him chatter on about animal facts, and Antonio helps them get comfortable with touch/contact again! Ris is really afraid to hurt him or his animals, but Antonio is a sweet and patient kid, I like to think one of the first times Ris controls their power and doesn’t inflict pain is when Antonio guides them to pet the jaguar

The little things in Encanto that get me is all the ways the family treats Mirabel as the youngest. Because she was the youngest for ten years! So they still see her as little sister!
Stuff like: mid-song, Luisa fixes Mirabel’s glasses for her. Camilo, while trying to scare her, still is very gentle in catching her and tossing her. Luisa and Bruno both raise their voices at Mirabel only to immediately apologize. They tell her “we don’t talk about Bruno, buuut…” because they’re sharing secrets with her! (There is just something about baby sibling that makes you want to tell them everything, I know this as a baby sibling myself) Even them all saying they don’t believe her, but then thinking about what she said and beginning to believe her.
The only one who doesn’t treat her as the youngest is Antonio. But, Antonio treats her as a sort of mentor figure, because they are both the babies! And, in a big family, the baby boy and baby girl are both treated as the babies. So, they treat each other very maturely because they have baby of the family solidarity.
Just… Mirabel is the baby of the family… to the point that Bruno was willing to leave for her, and her dad stands up to the matriarch of the family for her, and she was allowed to walk with Antonio (I really doubt they would have been so forgiving if it was Luisa or Isabella, it’s family baby privilege to do things “wrong” but just get a disappointed look instead of a speech).
Another thing! I know that they are triplets, but I really, really, reaaaaally doubt a tiny lady like Alma squeezed out three children at the exact same time. Which means that one of the triplets is older. And I think it’s Julieta! They call for Julieta when the house is destroyed, and while Bruno apologizes to Pepa, Julieta doesn’t let him apologize to her. Pepa has major middle child vibes, Bruno is definitely supposed to be the youngest (since he is a narrative mirror to Mirabel, the youngest), and Julieta just acts like such a big sister to her siblings at the end!
(Side note. I, too, would marry Julieta, even if it meant marrying into a family that made me feel kind of useless. She is the best. And she’s so sweet and she’s so pretty and Julieta is perfect, I accept no criticism)
My siblings feelings sprout up with this movie, it’s awful, all I can think about is the siblings doing Sibling Mischief.

Hey, I love your replaced miracle au, what's the story? I wanna know why Mirabel left and how Pepa became the matriarch, as you'd think Julieta would be the new matriarch if something happened to Alma, are anyone else's roles or powers switched?
Oh I didn't know I got messages, sorry for the delay! 💦
First of all i appreciate a lot that you love this au! 🥺 And as for the story, it will be told with new posts regularly; Mirabel left to protect Antonio because she had a vision about casita breaking down and he was in the center of it, so in his ceremony she left to prevent Antonio from being shunned in the same way she was. (technically the roles have been swapped).
It is known that Julieta was the eldest and the one who should be in charge after Alma's death, but she ceded that position to her daughter Pepa because she saw her as more suitable to be the new authority, since unlike Julieta, who is a passive person and goes more for the emotional side, Pepa is rational, makes tough but fair decisions, and will follow the same steps as her mother regarding taking charge of the family, which means that the destiny of the Madrigals will remain on the same tragic path, and the miracle will die if they don´t fix the main problem before it's too late.
I think the fact that it is now Antonio who has to fix his relationship with his mother will make it more complicated and painful to watch because of the new terrain that will be explored too. (For example, the death of his father Felix)
And yep, all their roles/gifts will be switched, including 2 new characters :) Thank you for asking!

Oooh, I love the Pepa matriarch AU! Does that mean that the one that finds out first about the cracks and tries to solve it would be Antonio? Maybe he starts to notice that everytime his siblings feel more pressure it worsens...
Antonio would see the cracks first, but he'd tell Dolores, and the two would uncover the truth together.
No way would I let a 5 year old fix his family on his own like Mira had to do in the film...

I just read your version of the Tainted Miracle AU, and I freaking love it!
Though what about Julieta, Agustin, Pepa and Félix? Do they even interact with their children? What's their relationship with them?
the parents all thought it would be best for Alma to show them her ways, unknowingly just letting her practically raise them. They thought it would be best for them to learn how to be a matriarch early in case that time comes.
And seeing as they have such a heavy workload, they never noticed what they were doing/causing. They do sometimes interact, small words of encouragement, kisses on their forehead, hugs, and idle conversation. That's about it.

I don't know if this counts as a encanto ask but i was trying to see what a encanto au out of the batfam would be based on 2nd hand knowledge.
I had Jason= Mirabel
Duke- Dolores
Cass- Antonio
and that was about it
What do u think a encanto au with them be?
Hmmm,i'm not trying to be rude but i don't think those align well!I think you could definitely make them fit(and would love to hear your reasoning for them!!)but personally,i'd go with:
Stephanie-Mirabel.The 'out of place' one in the Batfam as she's not adopted by Bruce and they've got that 'i'll prove myself no matter what' spunk to them.Also Stephanie as a protagonist >>>>>
Dick-Both Luisa and Isabela.The perfect eldest who wasn't allowed to be human from a young age and has a rebellious streak that they let out eventually,which helps them heal greatly from what they've been through,and is also a softie who does their best to be kind to everyone,especially their younger siblings
Jason-Dolores.The closest in age to 'the golden child'(Dick/Isabela)and a lot more open than them with their emotions but not viewed nearly as positively,instead as just another one of the kids.Also:Red + Summer fits the role of Mariano(Family friend himbo who used to crush on the eldest but is close friends with Jason/Dolores and realizes his heart lies with them)
Tim-Camilo.Gremlin teenage boy.'Nuff said
Damian-Antonio.The baby of the family who's an animal lover!!
Talia-Alma.They got that 'matriarch of color with generational trauma' thing going on
Bruce-Pedro.Yeah😔
I hate Batfam aus that don't have Cass and Duke-Like,excluding them is even in my dni-but there's no fitting roles left :( There's Félix and Pepa but idk how that would work.OH!!!!!!We could make them additional original characters!!Any ideas for that👀

What did the birth certificate say??!! Who is Bruno’s kid?!!!
The one you’ve been waiting for.
Do I continue this after the reveal? Would anyone be interested?
~~~~~~
During the search for Mirabel, Dolores ends up splitting away from the group she was assigned to.
She can barely hear herself think over Luisa’s shouting. And her father, though infinitely quieter than her cousin, isn’t much better. She needs some quiet. To concentrate. To think. To reflect. To hear.
“Mirabel!”
Though it seems she still can’t get far enough away.
Seriously though, Luisa should reconsider the choir - there’s a lot of wasted vocal power.
Dolores shakes her head. That’s not important right now.
Her mind is a mess. A jumble of thoughts and feelings. She can’t concentrate. She keeps getting distracted.
It’s then she hears the sound of hooves clipping along the path.
But she’s not the only one who does.
Abuela, just a few feet ahead of her, changes path. Instead walking in the direction of the sound.
When had Abuela gotten here anyways? Wasn’t she still sat with Isabela?
She ends up in a small clearing, just over the mountains. Just in time to catch the end of the conversation, with the matriarch calling out for this mysterious person on a horse. Her son— wait. It’s…
Tío Bruno.
She hides herself behind a tree close to the river edge, watching and listening in silence.
A hand over her mouth just in case.
Her other hand rests over her heart as she takes in the scene, realising there may be more to this than she had initially thought.
“Bruno, please,” Alma begs, her voice heavy with emotion. “You must come back. You must stay.”
“I can’t… not with…” he sighs. “Dolores already knows, it’s only a matter of time before everyone else does. I was a bad father - I still am… no kid deserves that.”
“Mijo, I’m sorry for—”
“It’s not your fault, Mama.”
“It was not your fault either. You did what you had to do.”
Against her better judgement, Dolores kicks a small stone towards the river.
The pair whirl around startled.
“I won’t… I’m not going to tell anyone, Tío.” She promises.
And she means it.
~~~~~~
Years ago…
The baby babbled.
Bruno stared down at the crib.
“When you said you had to show us something, I certainly wasn’t expecting… well, this.” Julieta mumbles.
Pepa tugs at her braid. “Agreed. It’s just… Of course, I struggle and the golden child can just have a child as simple as that.”
“Pepa!”
“What? I am only saying.”
“I don’t take it personally, Juli,” Bruno cuts in. He can almost foresee an argument unfolding.
Not now, he thinks. He doesn’t want anything to disturb him. Or the baby.
His baby.
He still hasn’t quite processed this.
It is his baby. His son. And it is human. Not some rat he’s found in the streets and adopted.
“You kept very quiet about this.” Pepa went on to say.
Bruno offered his hand to the baby. He smiled as its little hand grabbed onto his fingers. “What was I meant to say? Mother would have had my head. She still would. And the town would have questions.”
“And everyone is so distracted by Julieta.” Pepa added, teasingly.
Julieta huffed, one hand resting on her small bump. “It’s understandable. My boy should be a lot bigger by now.”
“Maybe there’s something wrong with us,” Pepa pondered aloud.
Nobody said anything.
Slowly, their attention fell down to the baby, who was once again making noise.
“I’m not even sure I can be a father.” Bruno admitted, quietly. He pulled his hand away. “At least… not a good one. Rats are easy. Babies are—”
“Not rats?” Julieta guessed.
“I was going to say ‘difficult’, but that works too.”
“They are so incredible,” Pepa said. “Such little blessings, so full of potential—”
“But you shouldn’t have one if you don’t feel you can provide for it. I’m not going to raise this baby for you, Bruno.” Julieta cut in, sternly; ever the voice of reason.
Her hormones are really acting against her though in these last few months. She’s starting to sound more like mother.
“Thanks for the offer, but I wasn’t really asking you.” Bruno replied.
Another moment of silence.
Lightning sparked.
“Wait… you’re asking me?” Pepa looked dumbfounded.
“Julieta is right though,” Bruno confessed. “I shouldn’t have a baby if I don’t think I can provide for it. It deserves to have a good life. And I know that you haven’t had the best… uh, luck, when it comes to children, but you and Félix are so great with them. Dolores is an absolute wonder. So, I thought it best to ask you first before I—”
He doesn’t get to finish, Pepa pulls him into a bone crushing hug, sobbing.
Julieta just smiled, backing away with a whisper, “I’ll go get Félix.”
