Transcendent Enigma by Souv Boa par Souv Boa Via Flickr : maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Le%20Ranch/165/114/1102 To bring "Transcendent Enigma" to life, I used a mixed-media technique that combines different artistic approaches. The creative process begins by capturing scenes, elements, or characters in Second Life, providing a basic sketch for my artistic exploration. From there, I draw and sketch meticulously, breathing life into the initial composition. Through the use of materials carefully created or chosen by cutting out elements from other digital media, I incorporate additional layers of meaning and symbolism into my drawing to amplify the visual impact and attempt, as best I can, to create a multi-sensory experience. Throughout the creative process, I meticulously retouched and adjusted the composition, colors, shadows, luminosity, and textures, ensuring that each element resonated with my artistic vision. Using computer graphic painting tools, I give the work its final form, adding the finishing touches that evoke the desired emotions and atmosphere. "Transcendent Enigma," in my messy creative process, reflects my deep exploration and questioning of spiritual and philosophical themes. It's also an invitation to a transformative journey, unveiling the mysteries of existence and engaging in a contemplative search for meaning.

Tips To Create A Multi-Sensory Dining Experience In Your Restaurant
A sensory experience means any experience that stimulates your senses. Restaurants are unaware of the ways to subtly enhance the customers’ dining experience and use multi-sensory marketing. This blog discusses how restaurants can create a multi-sensory experience for their customers and enhance their overall experience - activating the sense of smell, using sounds to your advantage, pleasing their sense of sight, enhancing the sense of touch, and please their sense of taste.

Dreamcrusher - In Due Time 2023
Luwayne Glass, better known as Dreamcrusher, is a Brooklyn-based noise musician from Wichita, Kansas. Glass began making what they describe as "nihilist queer revolt musik" as a teenager sharing tracks on Myspace. After years of touring and over twenty independent releases, Glass moved to New York City in 2015. The same year, Fire Talk Records released Glass's Hackers All of Them Hackers under the Dreamcrusher name to broad acclaim: the release was included in Impose's Best Albums of 2015 and SPIN's Best Avant Albums of 2015, with VICE writing that the EP "could be the most important noise record of the year".
Dreamcrusher is known for a live performance style that is interactive, high-engagement, and multi-sensorial, with FLOOD magazine describing their live show as "a full-on, full-body sensory experience". Those praising Dreamcrusher's live performances often acknowledge that this combination - of high volume, unpredictable movement, and even flicker vertigo - can be jarring, producing feelings of disorientation and vulnerability.
"In Due Time" received a total of 29% yes votes.

A venn diagram of the queer/neurodiverse content depicted in Invader Zim. I've already talked about the inherent queerness of Zim and mentioned a few times that there’s a big overlap with autism/neurodiversity but I thought this would make a handy reference. Note that “neurodiversity” isn’t just autism/ADD/ADHD but also includes mental illness, personality disorders, mood disorders, learning disabilities, and anything else that isn’t “neurotypical”.
On the queer side there is actual canon queer rep in the show and comics:
Irkens are canonically aroace and intersex.
Groyna from the comics was confirmed by Eric Trueheart to be a lesbian.
Commander Poki from the comics may be trans, as she has eyelashes normally only seen on female Irkens, but lacks the curled antenna every other female Irken is shown to possess.
Recap Kid's gender is deliberately ambiguous.
There are also many instances of queer-coding that can be seen throughout the show such as:
The homoerotic rivalry between Zim and Dib.
Red and Purple basically being Zim's two gay dads.
Zim and several other characters having campy and dramatic mannerisms.
Zim using Keef and Tak as beards.
Zim and GIR wearing make-up/cross-dressing and generally not concerning themselves with or even being aware of gender conformity.
That time Dib's personality was copied into the body of a female ship which became very distressed at being told it wasn't really a boy and changed its physical appearance to match its brain.
Other queer elements featured in the show include:
Female characters who aren't love interests/show no interest in romance.
Most characters showing a general lack of visible interest in the opposite sex or romance.
The Membranes being a non-traditional family (single dad with no mom, later acquiring two more dads in the form of Foodio and Clembrane). Irken society not being structured around family units at all.
Satirical depictions of nuclear family units (Zim’s roboparents).
Transhumanism.
Kink/Fetish content including tentacles, bondage, domination, tongues, sadism, mind-control, body morphing, gore, food/eating, bodily fluids/fluids in general, Giger-esque designs, etc…
On the Neurodiverse side we have:
Zim’s food sensitivity.
Zim’s germophobia.
Zim’s dislike of being touched or hugged.
Zim seeming to suffer from sensory issues in general.
Zim getting overstimulated on the bus in Walk of Doom.
Zim and Dib infodumping.
Zim’s idiosyncratic speech mannerisms.
Characters having high intellect paired with poor social skills/low emotional intelligence.
Hyperfixations and special interests.
Zim’s struggles with multi-tasking and keeping his priorities straight.
GIR being easily distracted and unable to focus on anything that doesn’t immediately interest him.
Characters having poor volume control.
Characters having mood swings or trouble regulating their emotions.
Zim’s issues with memory.
Dib hyperfocusing to the point of neglecting hygiene.
Zim’s “problem with listening”.
And in the middle where they overlap there’s:
Zim and Dib being outcasts, misunderstood by everyone around them, and only able to connect with other misfits like Gaz, GIR, Keef, each other, and random hobos.
Zim masking his otherness and putting on performative displays of “normalcy” and having a well-founded fear of the consequences of being discovered.
Dib being open about his otherness and looking for respect and acceptance in the face of overwhelming ridicule and contempt.
Dib being pressured by his father to conform in order to please him.
Dib finding that the social benefits of conformity aren’t enough to outweigh the pain of not being his authentic self in Mopiness of Doom.
Dib’s experiences and perspectives being trivialized, dismissed and medicalized as indicators of mental illness.
Dib actually being mentally ill, but only as a result of not being accepted or supported for being different.
The eugenicist dystopia of the Irken Empire, where Zim is labeled “defective” and sentenced to death rather than treated for the mental health issues caused by the society that created him.
Daddy issues/familial rejection/non-acceptance.
Zim and Dib’s struggles with depression.
Zim and Dib’s need to prove themselves to gain validation and acceptance.
Zim and Dib being victims of bullying and in turn bullying others to feel a sense of power.
Dib’s self-loathing.
Zim’s default state being paranoia and anxiety.
Zim and Dib’s self-image issues.
And of course the one thing that binds us all: alternative fashion.

Crafting Spells with Incantations: A Primer for Fantasy Writers
1. The Roots of Language & Power: Think about languages. Why is Latin so captivating to many? Elvish words from Tolkien's Middle Earth gives us a sense of nostalgia. Incantations borrow from the weight and mystery of forgotten or invented tongues to create allure in our fictional works. Authors might want to consider phonetic aesthetics and rhyming words. Cadence can distinguish between magic that stays with the reader or falls short.
2. The Binding Element - Intention: Fancy words can enchant, but intention carries power. Consider the caster's emotions, desires, and the cost of wielding the magic. A simple spell to light a candle may be whispered, while summoning a storm might require a shout. Emotional resonance adds depth to your magical system. Depth can make it more relatable and memorable.
3. The Harmony of Gesture: Incantations are often paired with gestures. The flow between word and motion can amplify potency. Perhaps the caster must trace a key through the air to open a door. Visual clues help readers see spell casting in their minds.
4. The Complexity of Consequence: Let spells have consequences. Mispronouncing an incantation could come with disastrous or unexpected outcomes. Spells can backfire if cast with doubt. Create checks and balances that challenge your characters.
5. Soundscapes of Sorcery: When performed correctly, what sounds accompany the spell? What sounds come when the magic is incorrect? Spells that summon forth storms release echoing booms in the distance. Offer readers a multi-sensory experience where they can 'hear' the magic too

Hello I wanted to ask if its ok for others to include your magical signature headcannon to their kirby aus,it’s so cool and I wanna use it but I wanna make sure your ok with it first
{the headcanons in question}
oh, yes!! of course, absolutely! i don't think it's all that original, and you're free to take elements and change it how you like, but i'm also happy to elaborate a little on how it works in our specific worldbuilding in case it helps anyone!
as with everything i'd of course love to know if folks use this headcanon in their works!! if you like the idea of using visuals for them how i do, i grab free-use photos from unsplash!
i consider this whole thing to be an alien sensory ability with some synesthetic connotations. for some it could be auditory, for others physical or visual; for others a combination. despite this there is usually agreement on what individual signatures "feel like", regardless of how they are felt
magical signatures are basically just like voices, or faces, or fingerprints. some might be more appealing to certain folks for certain reasons, some might be stronger or more quiet than others (usually a stronger signature denotes stronger magic) but none are inherently bad; not even scary or "evil" ones
these magic voices are all unique, but they can change with time or be a little different in different circumstances. a related family or species might have similar traits in their signatures. folks who share magic very often may pick up notes from each other. life experiences could drastically alter your voice one way or another. someone could- given time, skill, and perhaps malicious intent- override your magic with their own
a stronger proficiency for magic makes sensing these signatures easier. most often they are sensed through touch, and it is generally uncontrollable- like feeling the temperature of your skin. you could initiate a share with someone who was unconscious or unwilling and in most cases still sense their true signature
if you are "sharing" (healing via a mild psychic magic link; imagine a multi-way electric current) your magic will be sensed by the other parties. waddle dees, who are social healers with a social sharing gift, are especially sensitive to the touch-signature
hiding or concealing or changing your signature on purpose is unusual. there's an essence of undeniable truth to it, like soul-seeing. someone like meta knight could learn to purposefully withhold the full strength of their signature, to avoid overwhelming others as an act of kindness. someone like galacta knight could easily do the opposite
the reason starstruck dee's signature in particular is off-putting is not because of the notes of her signature, though it is corrupted: a little unsettling and a little overwhelming; like a very loud voice. the problem is that her signature does not match that of a waddle dee. it's like encountering a dog that quacks like a duck, or touching something that looks dry but is wet. if she were not a waddle dee, most would have taken her signature in stride as simply 'alien'
similarly her ability to 'lie' through her signature is steeply abnormal and meta knight is actively teaching her to hone this skill. in the hope that she'll unlock her 'real' signature by trying on others. in the hope that she'll have a better time socialising with others if she's not so uncanny.
at present she's able to copy other signatures, or combine several into one "new one", but hasn't found one that feels right despite meta knight's tutelage. he's not a fan of how easily she copied his

Let's dive into the idea that witchcraft involves creating and living your own inner story. Here's a more detailed elaboration:
Witchcraft as the Art of Storytelling: Witchcraft can be seen as a form of storytelling. Just as writers craft narratives, witches craft their own inner narratives to interact with the symbolic and magical aspects of the craft. The spells, rituals, and practices are akin to scenes in a story, each contributing to the overarching narrative of a witch's life.
The Power of Belief and Imagination: Much like readers who immerse themselves in a gripping novel, witches use belief and imagination to enter the world of their magical practice. The power of intention, symbolism, and visualization is what fuels this inner narrative. Witches engage with these practices not because they literally change the world but because they shape the way they perceive and interact with the world.
Personal Transformation Through Witchcraft: Witchcraft often emphasizes personal growth and transformation. The act of creating an inner story of empowerment and control can help individuals gain confidence and a sense of self-empowerment. While these transformations might not alter external reality, they can lead to changes in a person's behavior, mindset, and well-being.
Living Your Inner Story: Witches live their inner stories by embodying the persona they've created. This persona guides their magical practices and influences the way they approach challenges and opportunities in life. In this sense, witchcraft is about aligning with a narrative that reflects one's ideals and desires.
The Importance of Self-Reflection: As with any narrative, it's essential for witches to engage in self-reflection. They can ask themselves how their inner story aligns with their values, aspirations, and well-being. Regular self-examination can help ensure that the narrative they're living enriches their lives rather than detracts from it.
Empowerment Through Self-Storytelling: Witchcraft allows individuals to be the authors and protagonists of their own narratives. This self-storytelling empowers them to take charge of their lives and create meaning from the symbols and practices they choose to engage with.
In summary, witchcraft is a practice that revolves around the creation of an inner story. This narrative empowers individuals, helps them transform and find meaning in their lives, and guides them as they interact with the symbolic and magical elements of the craft. It's not about changing the world but about changing the way they perceive and engage with it. Additionally, in witchcraft, the sensory experiences play a significant role in making the practice feel tangible and grounded. Here's how the sensory aspects contribute to the "reality" of witchcraft:
1. Sensory Engagement: Witchcraft often involves using tangible tools like crystals, herbs, candles, and incense. These physical items engage multiple senses—touch, smell, sight, and sometimes even taste (in the case of herbs). This multi-sensory experience can create a deeper connection to the practice.
2. Embodied Practice: The physical actions involved in witchcraft rituals, such as lighting candles, brewing potions, or creating intention jars, provide a sense of embodiment. These actions reinforce the belief and intention behind the practice, making it feel more real to the practitioner.
3. Symbolic Associations: The sensory elements are often rich with symbolic meaning. For example, the choice of specific herbs or crystals carries symbolic significance in spells and rituals. These symbols can deepen the practitioner's connection to the narrative they are creating within their practice.
4. Strengthening Visualization: Sensory engagement can enhance visualization. When a witch smells the scent of incense or holds a crystal, it can help them focus their mind and imagination on the desired outcome of their spell or ritual. The sensory experiences become anchors for their visualizations.
5. Psychological Impact: Engaging multiple senses can have a powerful psychological impact. It helps in anchoring beliefs and intentions more firmly in the subconscious, making the inner narrative feel more real and potent.
6. Connection to Nature: Many sensory elements in witchcraft are derived from the natural world, such as herbs and crystals. This connection to nature enhances the feeling of being in tune with the earth's energies and cycles.
While it's true that witchcraft relies on sensory engagement to make the practice feel more "real," it's essential to remember that the perceived reality is still a personal interpretation and narrative. The sensory experiences are tools that aid in grounding the practitioner in their practice and narrative but do not necessarily change external reality. The power is still in the belief, intention, and the inner story created by the practitioner.

The history of postwar church architecture surely would have been significantly different if it weren’t for two things: Le Corbusier’s Ronchamp chapel and the Second Vatican Council. Both unleashed an unprecedented creativity on the part of architects and church officials with regard to form and layout.
In 2018 photographer Jamie McGregor Smith moved to Vienna and experienced the Wotruba Church, admittedly one of the most fascinating brutalist churches. This experience nurtured his desire to discover more of these kinds of modern churches and to get behind the dichotomy of an anti-modern institution and the modern church architecture. The result is “Sacred Modernity - The Holy Embrace of Modernist Architecture”, recently published by Hatje Cantz. The book collects outstanding examples of modernist church architecture from Germany, Austria, Italy, England and Poland, with each church being presented from inside and out. The impressive selection of buildings shows the ingenious spirit with which architects approached the task: audacious concrete constructions, expressive load-bearing structures and a great variety of plans that also tell of the different liturgical requirements established by the parishes. Beyond obvious examples like Gottfried Böhm’s Neviges Pilgrimage Church or Giovanni Michelucci’s Santa Maria Immacolata Jamie McGregor Smith also photographed a number of little-known gems outside metropolitan areas. The churches are organized along characterizing theological terms, a very interesting approach that adds moments of reflection to a visually stunning book.
With that said “Sacred Modernity” deserves nothing less than an enthusiastic recommendation for anyone fascinated with the multi-sensory experience modern churches are capable of providing. A real treat!

Do Gallifreyans have some sort of Braille for the visually impaired? Do we have any idea how it'd look?
Do Gallifreyans use a Braille-like system for the visually impaired?
To begin with, it's important to note that blindness/visual impairment appears relatively rare on Gallifrey—only a few known Gallifreyans have completely lost their sight, and each has found their own way to adapt to it. This matters because eyes are very important on Gallifrey, as Gallifreyan technology often uses retina scans.
Unfortunately, there is no known documented equivalent to Earth's Braille on Gallifrey, so there is no real idea of how it might work.
... But never let that get in the way of some theories.
👆Theoretical Gallifreyan Braille Systems
In human terms, Braille is a tactile writing system that relies on touch. Gallifrey, with its five-dimensional tech, might push this concept further. Imagine a Braille that conveys letters and words through touch and dimensions beyond typical human perceptions.
Multi-Dimensional Touch: Gallifreyan Braille could utilise a form of tactile feedback that incorporates temporal and spatial dimensions. Each 'dot' could represent different states depending on temporal phase shifts. So, a single touch could convey layers of information about an object or concept, not just its name or description.
Sonic Enhancements: Gallifreyan Braille could integrate sonic feedback to help convey more complex information. Different frequencies or vibrations could be used to add layers of context or emotion to the tactile experience.
Holographic Projections: For a society that can manipulate light and space, why limit Braille to a static surface? Holographic projections that can be felt and manipulated in the air could be an everyday reality for the visually impaired Gallifreyans, allowing them to 'feel' the data as it floats before them.
Neuro-Sensory Integration: Taking it a step further, Gallifreyan Braille might directly interface with the nervous system, allowing a user to 'see' through touch by translating tactile information into visual-like perceptions in the brain. This method would bypass traditional sensory routes and offer a direct, immersive experience.
🏫 So ...
While Gallifreyans may not have a direct equivalent to Braille, we can certainly have lots of fun thinking about it. Of course, you may decide all these theories are rubbish—the floor is open!
Hope that helped! 😃

"Sexuality is physical and sensory, but also chemical, emotional (yes, even for anyone who says sex isn’t at all emotional for them), psychological, intellectual, social, cultural and multi-sensory. That's all brain stuff. It’s not just what we feel if we touch ourselves or someone else touches us a certain way and how the brain influences those sensations, but all we think and feel about it, including messages others have given us, all our previous sexual experiences and experiences which may have influenced our sexuality, our hopes and fears, our sexual fantasies or expectations, how we feel about who we’re with if and when we have sexual partners, how we feel about our sexual selves as a whole and everything going on with us hormonally and physically when we are sexually stimulated – whether we’re aroused without any kind of touch, or if touch is also involved -- in any way. No matter what other parts of our bodies are part of what’s going on with us sexually our brain is our biggest, most important and most active sexual organ."

Hello!
Let me start by saying I love your fics and your style of writing! Thank you for sharing this with all of us :)
Can you write a Larissa x f!reader where reader is on the spectrum, experiences sensory overload, and has a panic attack? Larissa provides comfort/care that the reader hasn't experienced before, and reader let's Larissa physically comfort her (something reader hasn't let anyone do?)
Sorry for the long ask. I just had to leave a job because I was written up for having a sensory overload panic attack, and I could really use Larissa comfort right now.
Thank you :)
Hello my lovely anon! I’m so glad you enjoy my work and I enjoy sharing them with you all. Hearing how much you love them or how they impact you makes my day. I tried to give this my shot <3
I’m here
*Authors note| I adore this prompt and the fact I myself and some of my siblings are either sensory or on the spectrum made it that much more special for me to write. I hope it reaches the dear anon and helps even a little*
Trigger warnings ~ panic attacks sensory overload asd spectrum
Prompt~ see the ask^^^
∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞
You were diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at the age of three years old. You knew just how rare that was because it was significantly harder to diagnose in females than males. Lots of younger girls are commonly dismissed because they present differently from the boys with ASD. You also had Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) which could be quite often coupled with being on the spectrum. In fact SPD was actually on the spectrum just the lower end which is why it made sense that some people would have both. And you were one of them that did.
You were now an adult, all through schooling you had struggled and being an outcast had added to that. That's why when you found Nevermore up couldn't help but fall in love with it. It created safe spaces for those who felt they didn't belong. Perfect for you. Which is why you stayed on to teach after your graduation. Your ability to control and manipulate the weather was rather easy to hide so every year you would be curious to hear the first years try and guess your ability. Some believed you to be psychic, some believed you to be a mind reader and other thought an empath. Truly you were none of those but you could see why they had guessed them.
Nervermore brought you to your girlfriend, Larissa Weems. The principal of Nevermore a stunning, tall, gorgeous shape shifter. You had been so scared to reveal your diagnosis to Larissa, fear of not being accepted by the women who held your heart. But Larissa took you in her arms and reassured you that it didn't change anything and she loved you the way you were. Nothing in the world would change that. You were her Y/n. In fact, when you had fallen asleep, cuddling her like a koala bear, Larissa took out her phone and began to do some research into ASD and SPD hoping to be able to support you. She knew of them but wanted more depth on her knowledge to be able to help you. If you were have a melt down or attack then she would have more of an idea on how to best help you. Since your relationship started, you hadn't really had many issues. But you always knew if you ever did Larissa would be there for you.
Despite knowing that, today when you were mid lesson and everything seemed to be too much you panicked. The class were having partner work tasks to complete when suddenly the room felt too loud, the clothes you had on seemingly scratching at your skin and your control over your ability dwindling fast. You immediately made your way into your desk and fished out one of your sensory balls. The ball Larissa had brought you with multi coloured little jelly balls inside that were only visible when you squeezed it. You even found the piece of fabric you had stolen from Larissa's broken scarf that felt like a childhood teddy you'd long since lost. Normally those items would help you through your sensory overload. But not today. And that small fact was causing panic to surge through you at an alarming rate.
Thankfully the bell sung out releasing the students for their fourth period, unfortunately for you the noise was ten times louder than normal and it had you covering your ears in an attempt to muffle the noise. You had planning period for fourth period which is why you immediately locked your room up and made your way to the room you and Larissa shared. The weather outside changing into a mess of sun rain and storms and as you slept further and further into the panic. Everything becoming too much for you. Your clothes had to go. They felt like little claws scratching at your soft skin so you were quick to rip them from your body as you moved closer into the bedroom. Grabbing your softest blanket you wrapped it around yourself as you paced the floor. Why couldn't you calm yourself down? Was the bell still ringing? Why could you literally hear every little sound? Hell even the sound of your own breathing was too loud.
You quickly threw yourself onto the bed revealing in the soft sheets as you buried your nose into your girlfriends pillow allowing the scent of her to wash over you. Really and truthfully you knew you should've found the older women but everything was too much and you just needed it to stop. However when the door creaked open you knew exactly who would be stood there. Harsh sobs left your body as you muttered apologises to the women about not finding her and failing. She knew if she were to hold you now, the touch would overwhelm you and you would wriggle and squirm in an attempt to separate yourself from it. So she settled for sitting next to you on the bed and reassured you. She was here and you were not alone. She was not mad at you and was so proud that you had taken yourself somewhere you felt safe. The fact you clutched on to her pillow, breathing in her scent made her heart swell.
Only when you whimpered out "rissy hug" did the older women scoop you up and bring you to her chest so you could position yourself in your favourite koala hug. You adored this position, straddling her thighs and arms wrapped around her neck with your head hiding in her neck is where you felt safe. Larissa gently rocked you both knowing just how much you enjoyed that, your little happy sigh being all the proof she needed as she brought her hand to your back to rub slow deliberate circles. She knew how these meltdowns took their tole on your brain and body. Rest was what you needed now and she would gladly provide that for you and more if you needed it.
She already knew she'd get a sub for your last few lessons of the day but when she felt those cute little breaths you did in your sleep against her neck she knew neither of you would be moving from the bed. So she shifted to lay back and allow you to snuggle up to her. Your blanket having fell slightly in the moving showing her that you had been so stressed when your clothes had bothered you. With a small tug of the blanket you were all wrapped up nice and warm and sleeping calmly against her. She loved that she was a safe person for you. That you would actively seek out her physical touch. You had told her you never allow anyone to touch you in these episodes or in the come down and aftermath. The fact you allowed her and even asked for it was just so special. It was here in these moments that Larissa didn't see you with a diagnosis, no she just saw you. Perfect as can be.
