Jon's enthusiastic at first, but he eventually decides he's done testing. Damian disagrees, and so Looney Tunes-esque shenanigans ensue. Pure crack, maybe a pinch of angst. Takes place in the continuity established by "Battle of the Super Sons".

Original Male Character, Original Characters, Garfield Lynns, Victor Fries, Stephanie Brown, & Tim Drake - Fly High, Little Firefly

Fusing The Batman (2004) with the main continuity. Back during Dick’s days as Robin, Garfield Lynns, AKA Firefly, worked with Dr. Jane Blazedale, a partnership that ended with Lynns becoming Phosphorus and being remanded to Arkham Asylum. To the knowledge of neither Lynns nor the Bat, however, the partnership between Lynns and Dr. Blazedale also resulted in an unexpected pregnancy. Dr. Blazedale named the boy Benjamin, Benji for short. She raised Benji in the East End, near Park Row, up until she was arrested and sent to Blackgate a year ago. Now Benji is living with his friend Blake’s family. Eventually, Benji decides to sneak into one of Lynns’s old hideouts and steals the Firefly equipment. Benji initially wanted to use the Firefly suit to gather enough wealth to afford a trade school or college. When Benji realized that he couldn’t follow through on an attempted robbery, he decided instead to become a vigilante a la Violet, stopping crime while taking some of the haul for himself. It isn’t glamorous or honorable, but honor won’t get Benji a better life.

Cassandra Cain, Mamaragan, & Others - A Single Word Spoken

A girl in the shape of a weapon is brought to Fawcett City, where she fulfills her purpose for the first and last time.

The girl who can no longer be a weapon hides from her wielder in an old subway and finds herself transported to a place of great magic.

There, the girl who wishes to be more than she was made to be finds a Wizard, who sees the girl for her heart and not for the blood staining her skin. The Wizard teaches the girl a name.

The girl speaks her first word.

And so she speaks power.

Enlisting the aid of his friend Jon Kent, AKA Superboy, Damian sets out to form his own team of superheroes: the Young Titans! [The current roster is set to include Robin, Superboy, Nobody, and Beacon at first, then Suren Darga, Ma’alefa’ak, Abuse, and others. Additions beyond the core four would be gradual.]

Damian’s new team, the Young Titans, have established themselves in the hero community and the wider public eye. They’ve gained some admirers and even a few Rogues. Unfortunately, they’ve also caught the attention of Lex Luthor. Superman’s greatest foe has given up on trying to clone or brainwash Kryptonians. That would be great, except that he’s decided to shift his focus to Martians instead. Lex has successfully cloned a Green Martian, and he has the perfect target in mind for a field test. In this sequel to “Forming the Young Titans,” the Young Titans will face a Justice League-level villain from long ago, born anew: Malefic.

Young Titans, Tai Pham, & Others - Young Titans: Distant Heritage

A strange shockwave transports Tai Pham, first Green Lantern of his generation, to an unfamiliar city in the middle of a battle between a team of young heroes and a villain. Tai joins the team, these Young Titans, to figure out what brought him here and how to send him back home. At the same time, Ma’alefa’ak, now going mostly by Malek, is trying to reconnect with his brother and the history that seems determined to leave him behind.

Someone’s giving superpowers away and creating supervillains, and some of those powers are killing their users. The Young Titans need to find out who’s behind it and shut them down. That’s made more difficult by a new hero team, the Olympians, some of whose members are foes the Young Titans have faced before. This new team is sponsored by Lindworth Industries, which is premiering a revolutionary method of treating metagenes and working to rehabilitate Point City’s superpowered criminals.

Damian Wayne & Superheroes’ Pets - Damian Wayne, the Super Petsitter

Damian Wayne goes about his daily routine of caring for all of his animals. Dick takes and posts pictures of Damian doing so (he barely escapes with his life). Over the next few weeks, various members of the hero community (and a few outside of it) get in touch with Dick to ask if Damian would mind petsitting for them. Damian agrees to consider the requests, under the condition that he petsit their pets at Wayne Manor. Each chapter has Damian trying to petsit a different hero’s pet, from Wonder Woman’s kangaroo Jumpa, to Harley Quinn’s hyenas Bud and Lou, to Klarion’s familiar Teekl. Shenanigans will abound as Damian is having both the best and most annoying time of his life and his family slowly loses their sanity.

He’s still Batman, but he’s not the emotionally incompetent lummox that Jason’s used to dealing with (read: pissing off). The two of them end up talking, and while Jason leaves more frustrated than ever with his universe’s Bruce, at least now he knows the words his Bruce could never get himself to say. [This is largely an excuse to write an actual emotionally productive conversation between Jason and Bruce where Bruce doesn’t just stare at Jason like a goldfish.]

Jonathan Samuel Kent & Jonathan Samuel Kent & Others - A Tale of Two Jon Kents

It sucked that Bendis aged up Jon. I want Sunshine Jon back as much as anyone. But I can acknowledge that there are some things about the aged-up Jon that I’d like to keep around (namely his relationship with Jay). So I thought, ¿por qué no los dos? We had two versions of Clark Kent running around for years back in the day, and Jon’s entire origin is based in multiverse shenanigans, so who’s to say that Sunshine Jon couldn’t be written back into the comics without erasing the aged-up Jon? Certainly not me.

One day, Sman!Jon encounters Mxyzptlk. Mxy, being who he is, isn’t a fan of Jon’s recent growth spurt. He intends to simply rewrite Jon’s history so that he never left with Jor-El, but Jon appeals to Mxy’s love of drama by explaining how Jon’s current existence as Superman has caused a lot of controversy in the nation. Mxy thinks about it, then decides to just have it both ways. He creates a duplicate timeline, from the beginning of Jon’s existence on Prime Earth to the moments before he decides to leave with Jor-El. Mxy then manipulates the alternate Jon to decide not to leave with Jor-El. Mxy then merges the alternate timeline with the main timeline, resulting in both Sman!Jon and Sunshine Jon existing simultaneously. Mxy then leaves them with a cryptic warning, hinting that only one of them will be able to remain in the main timeline. This story will alternate between the two Jons, exploring their perception of each other and the bond they end up forming, but other characters, especially Damian and Lois, will receive POV chapters as well. Kon will also get involved.

The Flamebird, ancient Kryptonian goddess of destruction, is coming. Nobody knows why. President Luthor is happy to give them a target while he sets his sights elsewhere.

And something is stirring inside Chris himself. He dreams the same dream, over and over, of shattered glass and shackled ghosts. Shadows and secrets call out to him, begging him to answer. Something else, just out of sight, coils around him with whispers of something more.

This fic explores everyone’s relationship with their Jason, especially Dick and Bruce, and their attempts to navigate and bond with the alternate-universe Jason.

Bernard Dowd / Tim Drake, Bernard Dowd & Bruce Wayne - Playing Darts With a Conspiracy Theorist

Tim introduces Bruce to Bernard. Bruce and Bernard get talking and eventually land on conspiracy theories about heroes, namely Gotham’s vigilantes. Bruce has spent many hours spreading false theories about the Bats online, so he’s read some weird ideas. But somehow Bernard’s theories are far more utterly off-the-wall than Bruce would have thought possible. Pure crack, heavy on dialogue.

“Big Hero Six AU” - The Titans of San Fransokyo

Bruce is not Batman. Dick is in the role of Tadashi and dies. Tim is in the role of Hiro and teams up with Dick’s university classmates, who are the Titans, though without powers. Baymax’s armor resembles Batman’s, but he still just goes by Baymax. Victor Fries instead of Callaghan.

Billy Batson & Dick Grayson - Batson and the Bat’s Son

Dick Grayson has tracked a human trafficking ring from Blüdhaven to Fawcett City. When Nightwing spots some thugs from the ring kidnapping a kid off the street at night, he follows them back to their base of operations. He busts the ring and rescues all of the kidnapped persons, including that night’s unconscious victim, Billy Batson. Nightwing makes sure Billy’s alright turns him over to Social Services. Dick spends the next few days in Fawcett looking into Billy. After learning about Billy’s history with foster homes, he impulsively decides to help the kid by fostering him. Billy knows Batman’s and Nightwing’s identities, though they don’t know his, so he agrees for the time being. Now Dick’s trying to take care of this kid who reminds Dick painfully of his younger self while balancing work and keeping his vigilante life secret.

"The boy woke in an alley." Preboot continuity, Billy Batson has mysteriously lost all of his memories. As such, Captain Marvel has also gone missing, and the Justice League are starting to get very concerned.

When Selina Kyle finds a kid passed out in an alley, skin and throat laced with Lichtenberg scars… well, she’s always had a fondness for strays. Told from Selina’s perspective. Young Love and Old Money - Lewis Nixon x Josephine Wills

Her thoughts were interrupted by a gentle cough from beside her as she glanced at the hazy figure sitting on the wrought iron bench.

“Hello JoJo,” the voice came quietly, causing Josie to freeze, her heart thudding loudly in her ears.

“Will?” She asked, watching cautiously as the figure stood, stepping closer into the moonlight. William Beaumont stood before her, his nightshirt hanging loosely on his well built frame, his golden locks tousled from sleep but his blue eyes shining more beautifully than ever.

“Will,” Josie said again, this time more convincingly as she approached him.

“Did you miss me JoJo?” Will asked, using his childhood nickname for her as he came to stand before her. His large frame towered over her smaller one and yet she had never felt safer.

“Of course I have Will.” Josie flung her arms around his neck, burying her head into the crook of his neck and inhaling the all too familiar scent of cigarettes and Brylcreem. “I’ve missed you so much.”

Josie thought she couldn’t cry anymore tonight but the floodgates soon opened and before she knew it Will was cradling her on his lap, smoothing down her disheveled locks and whispering comfortingly to her. This was a scene so common throughout her childhood where her father would say something awful and Will was always there to pick up the pieces, he knew her inside and out and he cared for her. Josie felt herself wondering that despite the wonderful evening she had spent with Lewis was Will actually the best man for her?

David Webster x Florence Durrant

Florence tapped her foot rhythmically against the wooden floorboards of the stage as the music played out from the band around her. Some light chattering from the men in the front row distracted her, eyes hovering over the man at the end of the row who seemed too engrossed in his novel to listen to her singing. As the instrumental section came to an end she took a deep breath, drifting across the stage as she began to sing again.

Florence preferred singing to the English troops, they always knew all the words and would sing along with her. It was in those moments that Florence felt that she was doing the most good to help boost their morale. The American troops however seemed disinterested. Too many of them were smoking, playing cards and talking but the one dark haired soldier at the front bothered her the most, his nose buried in a red, leather bond novel. A few of the officers at the back watched her intently, swaying along to the music, whether it was more out of respect to her or because they didn’t have any other plans for their Saturday evening.

“I swear to God, if I have to take one more step I’m gonna shoot myself,” Edward whined, his pack slipping further down his back and his knees sinking to the floor despite their orders to continue marching.

“Get up, Mary. Come on we can’t rest yet,” Jake hauled his fellow Marine up so he was standing against him, supporting him around his waist and hauling him forward, ignoring the protest from the boy at his distasteful nickname. That boy was far from a virgin anymore, not with all the women he’d spent time with in Melbourne. They had fallen behind their original group but with the blisters Jake was suffering from he hadn’t minded the slower pace with Edward.

“Just a little further now,” Jake pointed to the distance where he could see a group of Marines stopping to make camp for the night. “Just up on that ridge and then we can stop, I promise.”

Edward groaned but nodded, standing to support himself a little more. He swung his Springfield disdainfully over his shoulder, he was still upset that the M1 Garand he’d scrounged from the army supplies had been confiscated and instead replaced with his original Springfield. Jake recalled the lectures of ‘it's lightweight and ammunition capacity is far better than this fucking shit’ Edward had complained nearly every night since they’d docked in Melbourne.

I have several other WIPS but I haven’t added to them in the last 7 days and I currently don’t have time/ inspiration etc for so I’ll add them down here and you guys can ask about them if you wish.

An original WW2 story - this story doesn’t currently have a definite title, despite the fact that I’ve been adding to it for almost a year, and is mainly just a load of research and planning with a few odd sentences and paragraphs but I’m very excited to start turning this into something beautiful. This will be a project for me following into winter 2023 and 2024.

Be My Last - Rhett Abbott x reader series - the reader is a student vet who comes home from university for the summer and works at the local veterinary practice. On a call to the Abbott’s family ranch with one of the vets she meets Rhett. To say it was love at first sight would be the furthest from the truth but they begin to grow on each other but families are complicated and long distance relationships are hard. ( I haven’t added to this series for a while and it’s very much a working progress but I may eventually get back into the swing of writing it)

hey - i noticed you cleaned up your wip overview page since the last time i looked (full disclosure i'm a dc fan and that's how i found your blog, so i usually just come back every once in a while to check out any fun things). does that mean there's definitely no chance of getting the old batman ideas that were on there? and conversely will we actually be able to read city of hope someday? no pressure ofc i hope you're enjoying your current fandom!

Some of the old Batman ideas definitely still exist, either as story notes on my PC or as asks in my inbox (yes, I have asks in here that are literal years old, I am so sorry!!!), but at the moment it's taking me all my energy just to work on a single WIP for my current fandom, so it will probably be a while until I get around to those. I would definitely love to finish City of Hope at least, since that is sitting unfinished on my very public AO3 account, rather than my very private hard drive, and I hate that XD

WAHHHH I LOVE THIS 🥺🥺🥺 the pining and flirting and slowburn of it all… model!satoru and his favorite designer suguru geto, both of them undeniably skilled and born with an eye for fashion….. well-known and adored……..

designer!suguru who gets tasked with showing you the ropes, who’s always so patient and kind despite your inexperience. diligent with his teaching but also so laidback, so easy to talk to… he looks intimidating, but he’s so polite that you can’t help but swoon a little. and he admires your enthusiasm so much…… grows fond of you soooo quickly bc you’re just such a breath of fresh air compared to the divas he’s forced to work with all the time. he thinks you’ve got real potential and he wants to nurture it.

and ofc you end up running into model!satoru eventually…. bc he’s always hanging around suguru whenever he gets the chance. and he’s maybe a little jealous that you’re hogging so much of his personal designer’s attention, but… he also thinks you’re so cute . T_T like a little puppy following suguru around… so excited to be apart of something you’ve dreamed of for so many years……… he looks into your eyes and sees the same sparkle he had before he made it big, and it makes his heart race.

yeah . i’m just thinking abt the peaceful coffee breaks with suguru….. how he’d insist on paying for your drink, ”since he’s your senior” (he wants to be your favorite </3)…… and how he’d just be so protective over his little intern. don’t get me started on the close proximity with satoru when you’re taking his measurements, the glance and smile he sends your way during an impromptu shoot… the way he always calls for you with a sweet coo of ”how’s my favorite intern doing today?”

I have no idea where this came from but I’m never going to turn it into a full fic so I’m releasing it into the void.

Dream is some sort of fae creature whose son died, so he sneaks into a mortal village and kidnaps a young boy around the same age his son was.

(Part of his heart hurts because he never took part in the traditional changeling child/fae kidnapping thing because he couldn’t bear to leave his son with some stranger, he loved him too much, and he knows deep down he shouldn’t do this to someone else but he’s desperate for something, anything, to dull the pain of his loss).

When single dad Hob wakes up and finds his son Robyn missing, he’s fully prepared to go scorched earth to find him. When it becomes clear he’s not in the village, he going charging alone into the woods, too impatient to put a party together to help him. (He’s terrified- he’s heard rumors of fae in these parts, but there was no child left behind. What could have taken his little boy?)

After a few days searching, he hears Robyn’s voice up ahead. He’s got a sword at his side, but for now he draws a bow and arrow, moving forward slowly. Eventually he comes to a clearing, peeking forward and preparing to shoot down whatever took his child. But then. He pauses.

Robyn is smiling, and laughing, and has an abundance of flowers adorning his hair. He is plucking some berries from a bush and popping them into his mouth under the guidance of the most beautiful creature Hob’s ever seen. As he listens, he realizes that Robyn is talking about him, telling stories of how his papa taught him to identify the things that are safe to eat in the forest, and how tall he feels when he sits on his father’s shoulders, and how his papa has a terrible singing voice but sings the loudest anyway and so Robyn loves it.

“I think papa will like you lots!” Robyn declares, and the creature smiles sadly.

“I… doubt that… but he sounds lovely.”

Hob is so confused by the whole situation that he doesn’t notice he’s taken a step forward until a branch snaps under his foot. Robyn looks over and immediately bursts into a wide smile, even as the creature lets out a panicked series of chirps and bolts in the other direction.

“Papa!!”

Robyn throws himself into his father’s arms, and Hob drops his weapons to hold him, beyond relieved to have his son safe in his arms, unharmed. He spends a few minutes just peppering his son’s face with kisses and telling him how worried he was before finally looking at the spot where the creature had disappeared into the woods. Robyn follows his gaze, smiling and tugging on Hob’s hand to guide him into the clearing as he calls out.

“It’s okay, Dream! Papa is super nice to everyone, you don’t have to hide!”

Hob’s sees two bright eyes in the shadows before the creature- Dream- hesitantly steps forward. He looks sad and scared and ashamed and Hob is smitten almost immediately.

Robyn explains that when he woke up he had been scared, but Dream had hugged him (almost as good as his papa’s hugs, he claims) and told him he would keep him safe and take care of him. Then Robyn had been sad because he already missed his dad, and when he told Dream about him he had immediately realized the error of what he had done and resolved to return Robyn. It had taken some time because Robyn had insisted he was too big to be carried (it’s one thing if he was sleeping, but he was a big boy he could walk home just fine, really!) so they had traveled together, Dream never feeding him anything that would bind Robyn to him, instead just pointing out food and water for him to gather himself.

Dream is still standing a bit aways from them both as Robyn tells the tale, looking at the little boy with aching fondness.

“I’m sorry,” he said softly to Hob, “I just... miss my son so much,” he smiles weakly at Robyn, “I believe you and Orpheus would have been great friends.”

And oh, Hob gets it all of a sudden. He had been fully prepared to do all sorts of questionable things to get his son back, he can’t imagine what he might be compelled to do if he actually lost him. And Dream was bringing him back, so he finds it very easy to forgive him.

He finds it even easier to invite Dream to finish the journey back with them, and then invite him to stay, and then invite him to build a home in the woods together, and share kisses and a bed and a life.

Robyn is very smug.

He told Dream his dad would like him.

Fallen Angel AU

What if every human has a guardian angel assigned to them to help them through life?

These angels have strict rules to follow about how much they can interfere on the human plane of existence and what they can help with. They're able to give their person invisible hugs, for example, or help them make more fortunate decisions, but they can never ever talk to their person or let themselves be seen. And they must not use their own energy to heal their person if the person is dying.

Breaking the rules can result in various punishments. The most severe: banishment from Heaven.

Gale is a young angel, but he’s very talented. The people he guarded so far in his few hundred years of existence all had great, happy lives, were decent citizens and never got into any trouble. Lots of trainee angels look up to Gale and try to get him to share what his secret is.

Gale, fresh off the case of a philanthropist who died of old age, gets assigned to a "rescue case" as they call them. A human who got abandoned by his angel or whose angel has been reassigned due to failure or incompatibility. The entities "upstairs" have high hopes that this human isn’t beyond saving yet, and that he, at least, would be a nice challenge for their little star.

So, Gale braces himself and sets off to try to guide one Bucky Egan, 20-something disaster back to the fortunate path.

But this time, nothing goes according to Gale's plans, because he ends up breaking one of the most important rules of a guardian angel - he falls in love with a mortal.

For the cover/title I went directly to the Bachelor logo for inspiration, replacing the classic wedding band with, of course, the ring of keys used in the fic!

The cover is heat embossed by hand, in the same way as my previous bind of Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. For that bind I went pretty maximalist, and for THIS one I wanted to aim for a really clean looking, simple but elegant look. I think it turned out pretty good! I ended up going for the white and gold look to match First House Gideon vibes

I also tried rounding and backing here again, which turned out somewhat mixed. I'm still working on my technique for that, but peep the nice yellow headbands to match the endpapers!
