When I was attending university just last Fall working towards a bachelor's degree and a diploma, I was miserable and stressed out of my mind. I remember every Fall I would have a breakdown and my Winter Break would be spent recovering my sanity instead of enjoying time with loved ones.

I had convinced myself that because I had put so many years into this degree I needed to continue to pursue it: this is Sunk Cost Fallacy. Last Fall was when I finally saw some clarity and decided to take a break from university and instead work. My goal was to figure out what I wanted to do for a career before returning to school.

By January, my bf's mom told me about a government program providing full scholarships for a few programs at a local private college and sent me the link. I applied and worked to manifest my acceptance. I was denied from the first program, a diploma in Digital Health Administration, but the school encouraged me to apply for a similar program beginning in May: a diploma in Digital Office Administration. This time I was accepted.

Here I am this Fall feeling almost no stress during my finals, feeling confident in where I am going, and feeling as if I can take on this career without hesitation. I have classmates who are so stressed out right now and they are working so hard I can't help but remind myself to recognize how far I have come. I didn't know school could be so enjoyable even when it is challenging (and I have loved school since I was a child.)

I feel free.

HELLO!! Thank you again for the Ballpit AU!!!

So I got the Into the Pit audiobook last week (I forgot to cancel my audible subscription for like.... months and needed to burn my credits somewhere fun LOL). And I wouldn't call myself a fnaf lore expert lol. But it got me randomly thinking. If the ball pit in Jeff's Pizza could time travel because -mumblemumble- Agony and Remnant reasons or something -mumblemumble- then the ball pit in the Pizzaplex probably had the same kind of thing where it absorbed all that stuff over the years? Perhaps the two ball pits in your AU that exist at different times are one and the same?

I could definitely see Fazbear entertainment in Pizzeria Sim finding the original Fredbear's ball pit after like 30 years and going, "Yeah, we can give this thing to that new guy with the bear head. His pizzeria won't last a week anyway."

And when that pizzeria burns down and they build the Pizzaplex on top of it, some OTHER pizzaplex employees find that thing hidden away and say to themselves, "We can't waste this money-saving resource! Find a good place for the 40-50 year old disgusting unwashed ball pit in this Pizzaplex immediately!!!"

...And that kids, is one possible recipe for your very own time traveling ball pit....??

But also this is fnaf. Nothing really needs a recipe, I personally am a fan of answering lore questions with, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "uhh-uhh!"

Whew, I gotta ask another one while I still can, so Imma ask this:

If the settings of both killing games were swapped, how would their respective casts react to their situations before the announcement of their killing games?

As in, if the DR69 cast were to be invited to a "corporation" because of their talents and the DR96 cast ending up in a school because of their talents?

I gotta answer this one while I still can! (2 months later)

This is a funny question considering how the DR69 school thing was more or less a by-product of me going for a school setting and not really realising “hey half of these characters are actually adults”. Still it kinda made things even more absurd in a good way (and I even reference this in the chapter 6 trial).

I think if the DR69 cast were to be invited to work for a company, it might play out in a similar way to the DR96 cast for the most part. Like, the teens going for work experience and all that. Well until we get onto the more non-working characters like Dedede and Fluttershy because I’m not even sure what got them to join a corporate business (“hey let’s hire a penguin and call him the Ultimate King I mean that’s totally what this company needs”).

I don’t think most of the cast would take their new job very seriously is all I would say.

Now, for the DR96 cast being put in a school takes away more of the more mature step-up I was aiming for. Sure the teens (plus Latte and Walter) have a familiar setting but Bojack Horseman the 54 year old horse has literally no benefits here. Also cue all the adults going “wow back in my day my school life was such and such”.

So, they’d mostly be more confused if anything.

the way bel found a family that actually loves him, despite how they may all act on the outside, while rasiel was met with individuals who would let him be eliminated for their ends in a heartbeat. say what you want about varia not caring for each other, they don't actually feel that way. they have each other's back in the end. xanxus is there to kill rasiel when bel couldn't. he did not do it for bel's sake, but he was actually there to follow up on the havoc rasiel was raining down. rasiel? rasiel had no one to fall back on. not a soul was going to help him against xanxus' wrath.

after being introduced to rasiel and having him reveal how much he belittled bel, how he was allegedly constantly rubbing in his face that he was better than him, it's beautiful karma to see bel not being alone anymore. he's not the 8 year old kid that had no one to rely on except himself. he has a family.

what's especially heart wrenching about knowing their backstory properly is that you find out why bel acts the way he does. suddenly, we are told that rasiel's treatment of him is the source of so much of what makes up bel as a person. it clicks. i still most often see people thinking of bel as conceited, but i really don't see that. not with the context of him looking completely blank when rasiel says that he was always better, no smile, no retort.

when bel lets down his guard with lussuria in the manga interview, he is extremely dismissive throughout. he is in no way excited to talk about himself. he even says that he doesn't want to stand out too much at the end section of one of the volumes where characters comment on fanart. this kind of humble comment doesn't exactly fit the way people around him tend to view his vanity. bel's desperation while fighting as soon as he bleeds also seems like...more than just flashbacks to that fateful night that he killed rasiel. it's like the inferiority complex he must have built up kicking in, he has to win, he has to get validation that he can win. he can't keep losing like he did repeatedly to rasiel in the past. again, i have to emphasize that rasiel says that bel was always worse than him and bel does not speak out. the one who everyone would see as egotistical does not say a word to defend himself. just silence. not even a hint of annoyance. this all sounds like i'm just taking things from canon and making a headcanon through that (which is fine), but then you realize that bel's only dislike listed on his "vongola 77" character page is himself. bel calling himself a genius & making his royalty a statement is sometimes simply just for mischief, a funny excuse he likes to throw around, and other times a cover. maybe a few times, he actually believes it. when he succeeds.

on the other hand, rasiel fully believes that he is better than everyone else. i have no doubt about that. even when bel won once, he still thinks bel is inferior. that bel is trash in comparison to himself. but in the end, he got destroyed by bel's boss who labels *him* trash. throwing that straight at his ego.

#lord knows xanxus has belief in his officers so he wasn't concerned about them when rasiel suddenly showed up #just like he acts unconcerned every time squalo 'dies' before the rainbow arc......that is how much faith he has in their skill #and that cool reaction is also an ideal way for him to simulate distance #probably can't get my hands on it anymore but...also thinking about the story from one of the light novels where bel needs a dentist #he runs away because he doesn't wanna go and then xanxus actually sends varia to get him if i remember correctly #jgksrjgkrsjkgjksr #a khr ramble??? we are back in 2014 #also not trying to say that i think rasiel is the scum of the earth here but he sure is a dick #i like his character regardless #i certainly would like to see more of how it was after the ’death’ for him #khr 0

Whoops I’m late! It’s a little less than 2 weeks to July’s [VS] Art Party, which will be on July 1st (preemptive happy Canada Day to those who also live here!), so as is now customary, it’s time to poll for our party location! We’ll continue to stick to racial cities for now, but I’ll dig up a different spot in whichever city wins than where we’ve been situated before! And so, it’s time to ask:

I'll still let this poll run for a week, which means the actual announcement post for the party won't be posted a week before, but I'll make sure it gets out as soon as this poll closes next Tuesday!

doing exposure therapy is so hard when 99% of the time i am blissfully unaware of any thoughts or emotions

okay okay wait but the funniest thing about kara's route in detroit is that you have the earliest opportunities to die and your route can just end there but once you get closer to the end you're literally put in all these high octane situations wherein really all you have to do is just do the stupidest fuckin' thing possible and it usually works like when you're going through the line at the bus you're panicking the entire time because they're doing temperature checks and you've already seen a dude get murdered for android crimes and you have 3 unlockable options to kill jerry kill luther and kill kara but the only option that's pre-unlocked is that you sacrifice nobody and that's the one that works like you just say please and the guy behind the desk is like Okay i'm canadian :)
