The concept of women using sex as a substitute for the emotional intimacy they need in their lives is incredibly alien to me as someone who is becoming aware of the fact that they've fallen into the habit of sublimating my sexual urges towards the unavailable/uninterested men in my life into a desire to put myself into the role of the mental health patient so that they'll comfort me, and using this emotional intimacy as a poor substitute for the sexual intimacy I actually want.
