Around The Fire
Tumblr media
Boy, this picture has been sitting around in my sketchbook for a loooong time. Now I finally finished it! The heroes of the Trine are settling down for the night, Pontius with his meat, Amadeus with his box, and Zoya with her money.

I love Trine so much it's unreal.
Been a fan since the Humble Bundle days, so watching it evolve over the last 15 years into something so amazing that is a true joy to play has been like watching a young friend grow up into a super cool person you're glad to know.
So when I saw this scene in Trine 5 I just knew I had to redraw it. 💓
(Plus bonus Solo shots for just because)

So... Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy. My recent obsession. Let's go! I'll try to do it without significant spoilers.
Carefull, long post under the cut!
First of All. Amadeuses Kids! They grew up! UWU. They're such cute little young fireball casters. Omg, that's almost like watching your nephews grow, they feel so much like a family...
Tumblr media
That game series has been with me since I was a child and as I remember Trine (part 1) was my first (real) videogame! And now when I play Trine 5 it cures my soul so much, right when I needed it. It's like... Has a Tolkien vibe for me. I mean in the sense that It's too fairy tail outside, it may look childish, but it has layers! I really like the plot, it hit me right in the heart and made me reflect. And I was struggling with dark thoughts on Future and Trine's perspective on the global world's problems made me smile and hope for the best... Really thank you, trine team, you're awesome :D Where there's people who share your concerns and put it in the work of art like that and make witty satire on it that's precious. I have returned some of my faith in humanity now.
Well, maybe some people may not see what I saw or just won't feel such weight, cause my recent experience made me stump on it, so well I need to say that plot in general... Dramatic. I was impressed How it manages to balance at the edge of magical fairy tail and life drama (OR that's again me and my pains. Anyway...) STRONG twists and things at stake. Heroes encounter both global threat and personal challenges (all three of them, but poor wizard, he got it the most. But he's so silly old man, I'm crying) (Zoya, my girl, I love you...) (Pontius... You're just perfect, I'm proud of you, example of a real knight :D)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Character writing is amazing, they REALLY feel alive.
For example: Amadeus marries a woman after he became a hero and throughout the whole game series he mentions that, then he mentions their kids and, like i mentioned now, now we see how they grew up! And in fifth's game due to plot he misses his triplets greatly and in the forest three heroes meet a fox with three little foxes... And Amadeus is like "oh no, I'm a terrible father" 😭
And there's a lot of cute normal or giant animals in the game series, we're helping them and then they come up and help us. Such lightsome game, I can't/// Those animals... Uwu/// (Just a little detail but I wanted to mention that...)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What I like else about the narrative: humor :D For demonstration I just let Pontius to show himself:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now when I've let out my shouts...
*sights* AaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAA. Another round, Friends :D
I. Worship. Those. Artists. They are geniuses. Screenshots speak for themself, I guess.
Design, artwork and effects... No, I can't describe it in words, again, I just pray on it. So damn enchanting. I literally dream to be like those artists who work on this series. (And that's a threat) When I think of it, well, maybe THAT magic inspired me to be who I am right now...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Magic observatory where's pictures of butterflies there and there... ARE YOU DESNAN, WIZARDS???
Tumblr media
And those just killed me. Episode in a dark place with the sudden rays of hope... I was just. Aaaah... So beautiful both by art and location's story.  Replica of the second screenshot: "It's rare that ghosts are on our side. Usually we and undead are not on good terms." What did I tell you? :D Tolkien vibe!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So who got through my post till the end... Please, please get to know those game series. I didn't mention it at all above but It's also a genius of gameplay. It's a platformer with (some) fighting and (a lot of) puzzles. Also. It's thrice (:D) fun in coop.
AND. Music. Won't say much about it either but It's a genius magical masterpiece. I guarantee you: Trine soundtrack will find its way to your playlist.
P. S. Will I do fanart on trine? Maybe... Maybe... You know, I just have that strange thing: some stories are "sacred" in my brain so I can't Just sit and draw cause I'm constantly stressed out if it turns out bad or worse: not how I imagined it. Same with Tolkien books, btw. In fandom since childhood, (if you count that, if not - from adolescents and first steps to the internet) and no single drawing. (not single real drawing at least)
But! I have Nine Parchments fanart :D
Oooh. And. I have THEM in frame. Art from my friend who gifted it to me at postcrossing some time after we played Trine 4 (and then the whole game series) together! It was such a pleasant surprise!
Tumblr media
The end. ❤️❤️❤️

johnny knoxvile but hes losing his mind because his gf female!reader just pulled off an insane stunt
JOHNNY WHEN YOU PULL OFF A CRAZY STUNT
I love this idea sm, and it took me a while to try and think of a really impressive stunt to base this off of and I actually really like it-
Jousting was a stunt you'd written very late one night before the crew would be travelling to the bull ring for some of Wee Man's stunts, which involved two people and two bulls. The idea was for each person to mount one of the bulls and attempt to joust, while the bulls got progressively more aggravated, and whoever stayed on their bulls the longest would win.
Ik it's mostly Johnny who does bull stunts, but I can see Chris doing this stunt with you, mostly because he saw an opportunity to dress up like a renaissance knight and jumped at it with open arms.
So while Wee Man was getting his costume ready for El Matador, you, dressed in a cowgirl outfit, and chris, dressed in a suit of armour, stood in front of the cameras before the bull ring.
"Here ye! Here ye! To joust is the ultimate test of strength, resistance, and balance. It is an honourable sport reserved for only the best. I am Sir Christopher Pontius, and I challenge Fair Lady, Y/n L/n to a joust!" Chris turned to you, you shook hands before making your ways over to mount the bulls.
The stunt itself didn't last much longer than two minutes, with Jeff yelling at you to see just how long you could hang on for after Chris got flung off.
While Rick kept the main camera on you, Lance took this as an opportunity to get footage of how the rest of the crew was feeling about the stunt.
"How are you feeling about this, Bam?" "She's batshit crazy."
"What do you think about this stunt, Steveo?" "I'm so fucking happy I turn down bull stunts."
And then he finally gets to Johnny who's not entirely present in the moment, at slightly zoned out while he stares at you.
"How do you feel right now, Johnny?" "Harder than a turnbuckle."
However, all good things must come to an end, and yours was harsh and fast, ending in you knocked to the ground and winded while the bull was herded away from you.
One of the cameramen, probably Rick because he was closest to the ring, hurried to get a close up on you, who, surprisingly, was laughing uncontrollably while clutching your bleeding forehead.
"How you feeling, Y/n?" "Like a winner."
That day was probably when people really got hit with the similarities between you and Johnny and why you guys were so good together because even though you were probably concussed to hell and back, you were acting like it was nothing.
With a bit of help and a lot of applause and congratulations, you were finally seated in the medic van, you head being gently cleaned and Johnny sitting at your side, unable to stop talking about how killer the footage was and how impressive your performance was.
This was all caught on camera, ofc, and even though it probably didn't make it into the movie because it wasn't actually relevant to the stunt, it was nice to look back on when you were all reviewing the footage because, to be completely honest, your ears were ringing like crazy and you didn't hear a single thing he said.

In 2015, we asked Rushdie to share some books that have shaped his life and work.
The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
"The Devil comes to Moscow and, of course, makes trouble, accompanied by a cat shooting six-guns and an associate who disappears when he turns sideways. But he also assists a writer, known as the Master, who has been writing the story of Christ from the point of view of Pontius Pilate and, in despair, has burned the only manuscript. But, the Devil says, manuscripts don't burn. And there the book is, unharmed and intact. One of the greatest Russian novels. Stalin didn't like it."
The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut
"This is a real delight. Among its leading characters are a certain Winston Niles Rumfoord who, along with his dog Kazak, accidentally enters a 'chrono-synclastic infundibulum' and gets stretched out across space and time. There is also a Martian invasion of the Earth, and Salo, a messenger from the planet Tralfamadore stranded on the moon by a spacecraft malfunction. After that the Tralfamadorians distort the whole of human history to get Salo the spare part he needs. (The Great Wall of China is a message from Tralfamadore and so is the Kremlin. Draw your own conclusions.)"
Riddley Walker by Russell Hoban
"An unjustly forgotten novel that is utterly unlike anything else, a portrait of a world after a nuclear holocaust — the explosion of the '1 Big 1,' written in a brilliantly fractured language in which a bomb appears to have exploded as well. Folktale and science fiction blend in this portrait of a devastated world trying once again to become, and Riddley Walker's riddles may contain the secrets which, if unlocked, will provide the key."
The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter
"Carter's sensual, erotic retellings of fairy tales and folk tales — her 'wolf stories' — blend Snow White, Red Riding Hood and Beauty (of the Beast) into shape-shifting creations that are Carter's own. In these tales a girl attacked by a wolf can love the wolf or even become a wolf herself; the beauty can be beastly too."
Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo
"A short hypnotic novel which Jorge Luis Borges thought to be one of the best books ever written in any language, and which Gabriel García Márquez claimed to have memorized, and which, he said, unblocked his imagination and allowed him to create Macondo, the world of One Hundred Years of Solitude. A man named Juan Preciado is told by his mother on her deathbed to go to the town of Comala and find his father, Pedro Páramo, and get what he is owed. Juan Preciado embarks on the journey and as he nears Comala falls into a nightmarish world that may be populated entirely by ghosts."
The Non-Existent Knight by Italo Calvino
"This is a fable, set at the time of the emperor Charlemagne, about an empty suit of armour that believes itself to be a knight and keeps itself going by willpower and strict adherence to the rules of chivalry. It's one third of a trilogy of fantastic fables jointly known as 'Our Ancestors.' The others, The Cloven Viscount and The Baron in the Trees, are just as good."

King Arthur: A Friend Who Can't Give Up
You keep trying to help me
Through piteous words
That only intensify the feelings of broken self-worth
What do I have to make me your mission
I don’t think I want to be the source of your ambition
There is a real person under all of this agony
I’m worth more than my afflictions
You keep fighting and fighting
What are you trying to win?
Trying to rescue me is a fruitless game
What don’t you understand
A person in crisis
Is no damsel in distress
You treat me like I'm fragmented
Which only lengthens this tormenting production
My trauma is not your business
So why are you attempting to make me flaunt it
I don’t want your sympathy
It makes me feel lesser than you
Your heroism complex isn't necessary
All I need is quiet company
You’re trying to pull this sword out of my chest
In order to relieve me from all of this stress
You can muster up your round table
Ride your horses into my battle
But there's no saving me from myself
King Arthur I know you’re just trying your best
But I don’t need a knight I need a therapist
Go check out my other works in my myths and legends series!
Atlas: How Trauma Changed Me
Icarus: The Girl Who Broke Me
Robinhood: The Parent Who Was There For Me
Charybdis: An Abusive Lover
Pontius Pilate: An Abusive Friendship With A Narcissist
Golden Fleece: I’d Do Anything For Her
Jack The Giant Slayer: Trying To Be Happy
Achilles: A Boy Who Hurt My Friend
The Minotaur: An Alcoholic Parent

Henry ‘Chips’ Channon: The Diaries (Vol. 1), 1918-38, entry for 27th June 1923
— Wednesday 27th June A small dance, always the season’s best ball, at Lord Revelstoke’s.¹ There was an unfortunate scene. Ronald Storrs,² Governor of Jerusalem, home on leave, had dined with Lady Lovat and somehow been cajoled by her and Lady Cunard and others to accompany them uninvited to the ball, they having said ‘it would be all right’. I saw him arrive and dance several times. Suddenly Lord Revelstoke, very angry, went up to him and in none too courteous language turned him out. People discussed nothing else in whispers, most thinking that it had been very careless and under-bred of him to have come and rather worse for his unwilling host to order him out as, after all, he is a gallant soldier and HM’s representative in Jerusalem ... not a pink guardsman. — 1. John Baring (1863-1929), 2nd Baron Revelstoke, was senior partner in Barings Bank and Receiver-General of the Duchy of Cornwall. 2. Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Henry Amherst Storrs (1881-1955) had been Governor of Jerusalem and Judea since 1920 and would hold the post until 1926, when he would become Governor of Cyprus. He had been Military Governor in Jerusalem from 1917 to 1920 — the first, he claimed, since Pontius Pilate, though this was not entirely true since a British predecessor had resigned after just a fortnight. T. E. Lawrence called him ‘the most brilliant Englishman in the Near East’. He would be knighted in 1929.

"Listen to the silence," Margarita was saying to the Master, the sand crunching under her bare feet. "Listen and take pleasure in what you were not given in life—quiet. Look, there up ahead is your eternal home, which you've been given as a reward. I can see the Venetian window and the grape-vine curling up to the roof. There is your home, your eternal home. I know that in the evenings people you like will come to see you, people who interest you and who will not upset you. They will play for you, sing for you, and you will see how the room looks in candlelight. You will fall asleep with your grimy eternal cap on your head, you will fall asleep with a smile on your lips. Sleep will strengthen you, you will begin to reason wisely. And you will never be able to chase me away. I will guard your sleep." Thus spoke Margarita as she walked with the Master toward their eternal home, and it seemed to the Master that Margarita's words flowed like the stream they had left behind, flowed and whispered, and the Master's anxious, needle-pricked memory began to fade. Someone was releasing the Master into freedom, as he himself had released the hero he created. That hero, who was absolved on Sunday morning, had departed into the abyss, never to return, the son of an astrologer-king, the cruel fifth procurator of Judea, the knight Pontius Pilate.
The Master and Margarita, Mikhail Bulgakov

when I was in my twenties I marveled at the momentum of culture, looking at Aladdin (1992) and thinking about how it has references to pop media of the '30s and '40s that the (adults in the) audience are just expected to roll with. how does that happen? I wondered.
now I'm here in 2023, the year of the 40th anniversary of the final Monty Python film, and I still hear references to The Knights Who Say "Ni!" and the dead parrot and Pontius Pilate's rhotacism and I am sometimes, but not always, happier for knowing exactly how that happens.

Earthquakes in Various Places, Swiftie Stuff, The Oasis of Human DNA, Fighting Antisemitism with the Truth, Exposing Thousands of Years of European Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing Against Israelis and Hebrews, Reminding True Followers of Jesus Christ about the Truths of Jesus Christ during Roman Invasion/Occupation, and Fighting the Lies of the Antisemitic Antichrist Sunday "Lord's Day" with Scriptural Truths. Part 3/5.
Jesus died at the same hour (Friday 3pm) on 3 April AD 33 that the Passover lambs were slaughtered. (Wikipedia)
Also in AD 33, a financial crisis hit Rome due to poorly chosen fiscal policies. Land values plummeted, and credit was increased. These actions led to a lack of money, a crisis of confidence, and much land speculation. The primary victims were senators, knights and the wealthy. Many aristocratic families were ruined. (Wikipedia)
Matthew 22:16 They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are. Matthew 22:17 Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax to Caesar or not?” Matthew 22:18 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? Matthew 22:19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, Matthew 22:20 and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?” Matthew 22:21 “Caesar’s,” they replied. Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” Matthew 22:22 When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.
Luke 16:13 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
This is all from Wikipedia to highlight how the genocidal Roman invaders/imperialists/colonizers/ethnic cleansers didn't stop killing innocent Jews/Israelis after torturing Jesus Christ to death because they wanted to and could, and why the European antisemitic antichrist Sunday "Lord's Day is perpetuating endless European genocide and ethnic cleansing against the people of the Almighty Abrahamic God while trying to erase the Almighty Abrahamic God of the Middle East, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam every Sunday now and into the future (if the true followers of Jesus Christ don't/won't stop bending their knees to satanic antichrist servants/slaves) :
AD 33: Passover Sabbath/"Good Friday", Sabbath Rest Friday to Saturday Night, Resurrection Saturday Night, Resurrection Message Sunday Morning.
AD 36: Pontius Pilate is recalled to Rome, after putting down a Samaritan uprising. AD 36: Herod Antipas suffers major losses in a war with Aretas IV of Nabatea, provoked partly by Antipas' divorce of Aretas' daughter. According to Josephus, Herod's defeat was popularly believed to be divine punishment for his execution of John the Baptist. Emperor Tiberius orders his governor of Syria, Vitellius, to capture or kill Aretas, but he is reluctant to support Herod and abandons his campaign upon Tiberius' death in AD 37.
AD 37: Peter the Apostle founds the Church of Antioch (approximate date). AD 37: The Pharisee Saul of Tarsus is converted to Christianity, after a vision. After the year 39, he is recognized as Saint Paul. AD 37: April 9 – An earthquake damaged Antioch.
AD 38: An anti-Jewish riot breaks out in Alexandria, during a visit by King Herod Agrippa I; the mob wants to place statues of Caligula in every Jewish synagogue.
AD 39: Caligula orders that a statue of himself be placed in the Temple in Jerusalem. The governor of Syria, Publius Petronius, who is responsible for having an erecting the statue, faces mass demonstrations by Jews of the region and manages to delay construction of the statue until the death of Caligula in AD 41. AD 39: Philo leads a Jewish delegation to Rome to protest the anti-Jewish conditions in Alexandria.
AD 54: Violence erupts in Caesarea regarding a local ordinance restricting the civil rights of Jews, creating clashes between Jews and pagans. The Roman garrison, made up of Syrians, takes the side of the pagans. The Jews, armed with clubs and swords, meet in the marketplace. The governor of Judea, Antonius Felix, orders his troops to charge. The violence continues and Felix asks Nero to arbitrate. Nero sides with the pagans, and relegates the Jews to second-class citizens. This decision does nothing but increase the Jews' anger.
AD 64: July 19 – Great Fire of Rome: A fire begins in the merchant area of Rome and soon burns completely out of control, while Emperor Nero allegedly plays his lyre and sings, as he watches the blaze from a safe distance. There is no hard evidence to support this claim: fires were very common in Rome at the time. The fire destroys close to one-half of the city and is officially blamed on the Christians, a small but growing religious movement; Nero is accused of being the arsonist by popular rumor. AD 64: Persecution of Christians in Rome begins under Nero. Peter the Apostle is possibly among those crucified.
AD 66: September 22 – Emperor Nero creates the Legio I Italica. He appoints Titus Flavius Vespasian as General of the army of Judea, and Governor of Judea which gives him command of three legions — V Macedonica, X Fretensis and XV Apollinaris. AD 66: October – The Jewish Revolt commences against the Roman Empire. The Zealots lay siege to Jerusalem and annihilate the Roman garrison (a cohort of Legio III Cyrenaica). The Sicarii capture the fortress of Masada overlooking the Dead Sea. AD 66: Mid–late October – Cestius Gallus, legate of Syria, marches into Judea and leads a Roman army of 30,000 men to put down the Jewish rebellion. At its core is Legio XII Fulminata, plus 2,000 selected men from the other three Syrian legions, six more cohorts of infantry and four alae of cavalry, plus over 14,000 auxiliaries furnished by Rome's eastern allies, including Herod Agrippa II and two other client kings, Antiochus IV of Commagene and Sohaemus of Emesa, who lead their forces (largely archers and cavalry) in person. AD 66: Gallus leads his main force down the coast from Caesarea via Antipatris to Lydda, detaching other units, by land and sea, to neutralize the rebel strongholds at Joppa, Narbata and the Tower of Aphek. With Galilee and the entire Judean coast in his hands, Gallus assumes his campaign before the winter rains render the roads impassable. He turns inland and marches on Jerusalem, taking the road via the plain at Emmaus. Gallus succeeds in conquering Beit She'arim (the "New City") on the Bezetha Hill.[3] AD 66: November – Battle of Beth-Horon: Gallus abandons the siege of Jerusalem and chooses, for uncertain reasons, to withdraw west to winter quarters, where he is ambushed and defeated by Judean rebels. Some 5,300 Roman troops are killed, as well as all their pack animals, their artillery (which is to serve the Jews of Jerusalem during Titus's siege operations four years later), and the greatest disgrace of all, the eagle standard of Legio XII Fulminata. Gallus abandons his troops in disarray, fleeing to Syria.[4]
AD 67: Jewish leaders at Jerusalem are divided through a power struggle, and a brutal civil war erupts. The Zealots and the Sicarii execute anyone who tries to leave the city. AD 67: Siege of Jotapata: Its 40,000 Jewish inhabitants are massacred. The historian Josephus, leader of the rebels in Galilee, is captured by the Romans. Vespasian is wounded in the foot by an arrow fired from the city wall. AD 67: The Jewish fortress of Gamla in the Golan falls to the Romans, and its inhabitants are massacred. AD 67: Apostles Peter and Paul are martyred in Rome.
AD 69: Judea: The Jewish Revolt – Vespasian lays siege to Jerusalem; the city is captured the following year by his son Titus. AD 69: Josephus, Jewish rebel leader, is dragged before Vespasian and becomes his historian (he "prophesied" him his elevation to the purple).
AD 70: 14th of Xanthikos (14th of Nisan, about April 14) – Siege of Jerusalem: Titus surrounds the Jewish capital, with three legions (V Macedonica, XII Fulminata and XV Apollinaris) on the western side and a fourth (X Fretensis) on the Mount of Olives to the east. He puts pressure on the food and water supplies of the inhabitants by allowing pilgrims to enter the city to celebrate Passover and then refusing them egress. AD 70: About April 21 – Titus opens a full-scale assault on Jerusalem, concentrating his attack on the city's Third Wall (HaHoma HaShlishit) to the northwest. The Roman army begins trying to breach the wall using testudos, mantlets, siege towers, and battering rams. AD 70: 7th of Artemisios (7th of Iyar, about May 6) – The Third Wall of Jerusalem collapses and the Jews withdraw from Bezetha to the Second Wall, where the defenses are unorganized. AD 70: 12th of Artemisios (12th of Iyar, about May 11) – Titus and his Roman legions breach the Second Wall of Jerusalem. The Jewish defenders retreat to the First Wall. The Romans start building a circumvallation; all trees within 90 stadia (ca. fifteen kilometres) of the city are cut down. AD 70: 21st of Artemisios (about May 20 or 21) – A "certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon", "chariots and troops" seen running in the clouds around Jerusalem AD 70: Pentecost (Shavuot, 6th of Sivan, about June 4) – Priests in the Temple in Jerusalem feel a quaking and hear "a sound as of a great multitude saying, Let us remove hence". AD 70: 17th of Panemos (17th of Tammuz), about July 14) – Sacrifices cease in the temple. AD 70: 24th of Panemos (about July 20) – Romans set fire to a cloister after the capture of the Fortress of Antonia, north of the Temple Mount. The Romans are drawn into street fighting with the Zealots. AD 70: 10th of Loios (9th or 10th of Av, about August 4) – Titus destroys the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. Roman troops are stationed in Jerusalem and abolish the Jewish high priesthood and Sanhedrin. This becomes known as the Fall of Jerusalem, a conclusive event in the First Jewish–Roman War (the Jewish Revolt), which began in 66 AD. Following this event, the Jewish religious leadership moves from Jerusalem to Jamnia (present day Yavne), and this date is mourned annually as the Jewish fast of Tisha B'Av. AD 70: August – Titus lays siege to the Upper City of Jerusalem. AD 70: 8th of Gorpiaios (8th of Elul, about September 2) – Romans gain control of all of Jerusalem and proceed to burn it and kill its remaining residents, except for some who are taken captive to be killed later or enslaved.
Luke 22:31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. Luke 22:32 But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:33 Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you, and even to die with you.” Luke 22:34 But Jesus said, “Peter, let me tell you something. Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.”

Matthew 5:15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:17 “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. Matthew 5:18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Matthew 5:19 So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 5:20 “But I warn you—unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven!
Revelation 2:16 Repent of your sin, or I will come to you suddenly and fight against them with the sword of my mouth. Revelation 2:17 “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give some of the manna that has been hidden away in heaven. And I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone will be engraved a new name that no one understands except the one who receives it. Revelation 2:18 “Write this letter to the angel of the church in Thyatira. This is the message from the Son of God, whose eyes are like flames of fire, whose feet are like polished bronze: Revelation 2:19 “I know all the things you do. I have seen your love, your faith, your service, and your patient endurance. And I can see your constant improvement in all these things. Revelation 2:20 “But I have this complaint against you. You are permitting that woman—that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet—to lead my servants astray. She teaches them to commit sexual sin and to eat food offered to idols. Revelation 2:21 I gave her time to repent, but she does not want to turn away from her immorality. Revelation 2:22 “Therefore, I will throw her on a bed of suffering, and those who commit adultery with her will suffer greatly unless they repent and turn away from her evil deeds. Revelation 2:23 I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches out the thoughts and intentions of every person. And I will give to each of you whatever you deserve. Revelation 2:24 “But I also have a message for the rest of you in Thyatira who have not followed this false teaching (‘deeper truths,’ as they call them—depths of Satan, actually). I will ask nothing more of you Revelation 2:25 except that you hold tightly to what you have until I come. Revelation 2:26 To all who are victorious, who obey me to the very end, To them I will give authority over all the nations. Revelation 2:27 They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots. Revelation 2:28 They will have the same authority I received from my Father, and I will also give them the morning star! Revelation 2:29 “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. Revelation 3:1 “Write this letter to the angel of the church in Sardis. This is the message from the one who has the sevenfold Spirit of God and the seven stars: “I know all the things you do, and that you have a reputation for being alive—but you are dead. Revelation 3:2 Wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God.
