We all know how tempting is to sort fics by kudos, so I'm doing that lol I hope you all enjoy this underrated gems. It’s somewhere between dwelling on the abstract thought of Yuuri’s hunger as a competitor, and watching the younger skater on Facetime with his mother back home, that an idea starts to form..

This is how Katsuki Yuuri, the love of his life, the apple of his eye, the fire of his loins et cetera, ad infinitum, finds Viktor when he walks into the door: standing precariously with one foot on a barstool and the other on top of his counter, frantically fanning at his smoke detector with a magazine.

I am very, very late but please accept my list of my favourite OTPs of 2020

6. Gideon Nav and Harrow Nonagesimus/ Griddlehark (The Locked Tomb Trilogy)

Listen, if you haven't read 'Gideon the Ninth', you are missing out on an absolutely amazing, completely bonkers, filled with witty banter, book about Lesbian Necromancers in Space.

Need I say more?

I will: Gideon and Harrow absolutely ruined me and 'Harrow the Ninth' was even better that its predecessor.

5. Avatar Korra and Asami Sato/Korrasami (Avatar: The Legend of Korra)

While Korra and Asami were robbed in the series because of censoring, the comics pick up right where the show ended: showing our girls completely dominating Republic City in all of their Power Couple Glory.

Probably the oldest show or book on this list, Korra and Asami paved the way for lgbtq+ representation in mainstream media today.

4. Rangi and Kyoshi/Rangshi (The Kyoshi Novels)

Yet another Avatar and their forever girl! Kyoshi is my favourite Avatar and Rangi is in the same league: both of them are them are in a separate class of their own making.

I love them.

3. Luz Noceda and Amity Blight/Lumity (The Owl House)

Owl House is the sweetest thing I've seen all year. Luz and Amity are no exception.

Dancing in the moonlight while destroying a monster that shapeshifts into your worst fears? Getting hyper-competitive so that you can impress your crush?

Luz and Amity deserve everything.

2. Victor Nikiforov and Katsuki Yuuri/Victuuri (Yuri on Ice)

It has been months since I saw Yuri on ice, and I am still not over them.

I will never be over them.

The sheer poetry of falling in love over a mutual star-eyed adoration of figure skating, and broadcasting your love to the world during the world's most prestigious competition *chef's kiss*

Yes!!!

Childhood friends to Enemies to Lovers is the best trope and I am convinced no other can even come close.

Omg, Thank you for your interest in my history 1/2 jk and thank you so much for your compliments.

Well, I think I have told this story multiple times but I first watched Attack on Titan in 2013, back in high school and I have been in love with Levi since then but I was more into Rivetra especially after episode 23 and we just had way too many crumbs that Levi cared more about Petra? And yes, I was in high school.

And after that season 2 took like... 234906543 years and I kinda fell out of fandom-ing for a while because college was just... hectic. I mean I did get into coco for a while and for a few months I did write coco fanfiction and I also kept writing Alex Rider fanfiction like one shots and shit just because I really do love fanfiction like I think I read a lot of fanfiction in college even if I didn’t write a lot.

Like it was a closet hobby I never really let go of? It’s just college was baaaad so I never had time to go on tumblr or write any more fanfiction or watch TV in general.

Around the time I graduated, I actually went straight to get a job and I had plans for law school like I passed my law exam and everything and I was planning on doing law part time while working then when I enrolled, law school wouldn’t give me the part time schedule for full time workers so I dropped law school and a week later my job laid me off and I literally had nothing to do for a month while looking for a job.

So I rewatched AOT, binged it in a day, caught up to the manga. And I was low key kinda dense? Like I only realized I was appreciating Levihan when Hange died?

I remember thinking awww at 115 then awww at 126 then I read 132 and I literally just could not get out of bed. I felt like my beloved pet died or something then I went on a fic binge, read fanmoose then quintissentially me then I started lurking in the Levihan tags in ao3 and tumblr.

Then I was like f this and I started writing and it was a slow burn like I only started falling in love with them to the point of crazy when I wrote. Like Would You Cry was incredibly experimental. And all my other Levihan Angstober fics : Heroes and Victims, Omissions and Free Spot. were pretty much just me asking myself... DO I LIKE THIS SHIP?

Because I don’t think I’ve ever written this much about a ship until this ship. Like sure I have read shipping fics like I read lots of Percabeth, lots of Victuuri, Royai, Shikatema (and maybe some Sasusaku) but Levihan was just... this is the first time I have been crazy enough to write more than 100k worth of words in three months.

I mean I’m somewhat sure this is also related to the quarantine taking away all my other hobbies so I got into writing again and hyperfixating but goddamn Levihan was one great comfort pairing, it gives me hope for relationships and this is the first time I’ve actually written so many long ass metas and creating all these weirdass headcanons because they’re so subtle but they’re so obviously there? That like I just need to make sense of them? And I need to do it everyday?? Probably for the rest of my life

And it doesnt help that my siblings and my friends are like... ‘They’re like siblings’ 80% of the time or ‘Levi hates her’ or ‘Hange’s such a weirdo’ or ‘ewww you like Hange?’

CC Making Journal day 7- Collars, tailoring, transparent patterns, LODs.

Aka what started as a night full of hope and excitement over nipple lace button downs turns into bowling alley manager uniforms, tiramisu, irl shirt theft, screaming about paint buckets, and disappointment. Yuuri making his cute face is all I can stand. I didnt even go in game for this shirt I was so disappointed.

First realization- when the mesh is ugly as fuck there is no saving the piece. Just start over.

Second realization- half sleeve will never be flattering

No matter how these jazzy looking boy pose:

BUt I started off realizing this piece was not a simple 4 piece suit. No- it had many moving parts. So I made my first button down. The original piece had these hideous buttons:

I was pretty happy here.I had, after all, created my first button down with the two pieces n the back, the trim, collar, the whole 9 yards! A certain tofu loving dragon helped me find a collar pattern guide after they caught me blindly making the worst collar known to man on stream. Thank you for your guidance. (I also wasnt sure if the collar was 1,2,or 3 pieces so I stole a shirt from my dads closet. Its still on my bed. I may keep it. He doesnt need it anyway. Its so soft) We were still so naive though. Dofu tried to warn me about the weird sleeve length and frumpy sleeve holes. But I didnt listen. I was too busy screaming:

Yes I did a little peak at the stammi vicino possibilities. I felt so close.But then...

Then...

It came to open it in S4s...

(at least the white swatch is clean)

And I was met with a huge disappointment. The shoulders are rounded hideously. and the collar stands up weird. And I cant for the love of me figure out where the sim waist pant line is on the Sims 4 male rig for MD.

Basically I achieved the silhouette “Boy stuffs himself into a button down that is much to small for him” DX I mean if we wanna play chubby Yuuri it works.

The waist UV didnt copy over from the sim so he has a different body shape. This keeps happening on tops I have partial transparency on so I think this is related to that issue. As I learn more I realize the issues on my cc are all fixable at their various step. Yuuris waist is supposed to be SNATCHED

Okay some may think the shirt doesnt look bad on Yuuri, right? But I knew something was wrong....when I put it on Victor and his shoulder SUNK INTO HIS BODY:

THIS IS WHAT HE IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE.

Oh the disappointment I was met with. Victors beautiful broad shoulders. Decimated.

(Oh speaking of decimate i managed to get this mesh to be under 12k and then I imported it into s4s it JUMPED TO 20K AND I WAS SHOOK LIKE WTF SO OF COURSE MY OTHER 3 LOD DECIMATES WERE ALL HUGE POLY COUNTS. NONE OF THEM NEAR 500 FOR LOD 3). I was annoyed but had bigger monsters with this piece.

Already deterred by some much disappointment, I almost didnt want to continue on. But I roped my friend in again and we went at the Lace texture. BC AS UGLY ASTHE MESH WAS, THE TRANSPARENCY WORKED. SO I failed the war but won the mission. We shared a few pic me up photos of our good boys and powered on.

And then I found out in PS version 20 there is NO PAINT BUCKET TOOL.

After screaming over no paint buckets (silently bc my discord audio broke) we tried like 10 different methods. I tried to follow along but boyyyy I had no idea what mask laters or rasterize was. I dont even know how to rotate and combine photos in PS. I was in pain. Perhaps I am still traumatized. But not enough to not keep trying.

By then it was 3am and I had inhaled a piece of tirimisu cake to fend off sadness. I ate my late dinner from a paper plate like the sad bachelorette I am and watched again and again as my friend tried to explain how to make the transparency work.

Eventually they got it to work. I did but I had the pattern too small. So it was useless.

Anyway, I had to show SOMETHING so I tried Archive actions weird pants that I cant put on literally any outfit bc its clips awfully on the sim and BAM

CANT YOU JUST SEE HIM IN A BOWLING ALLEY?!?!? UGH

Anyway credits to StinkyDofu here on tumblr and the victuuri birb server, Otaku Sim server, random twitter followers who will not see this image or else my follower count will continue to drop, and NO THANK YOU TO HALF SLEEVED SHIRTS.

Also heads up usually im not a negative person and wont be as harsh on cc to others as I am to myself. But this particular piece was started with such high expectations and the downfall really hurt. But, like I said, this is all for learning so I will keep going. I love this process fully.

It was calming, the boring parts of cc making. Lowering poly with edge loop deleting, extruding edges, uv mapping, texturing. I love the process no one wants to show in their time skips.

I’ve already linked the tutorials I used in my last journal. So today i’ll advise yall to watch Grafity-cc on youtube for their great speed meshing blender. I would tag but I am but a measly peasant.

SIX / favorite colors: all of them tbh but blue, lavender and yellow in particular are nice SEVEN / favorite books: gosh idk... its kinda embarrassing but i don’t really get into books so i can’t rlly think of anything off the top of my head. its a real struggle and i dont have a great attention span :/ EIGHT / last song I listened to: death with dignity - sufjan stevens, the whole lis soundtrack atm NINE / last film I watched: i rewatched howl’s moving castle last night to cheer myself up and for some reason i felt like it was the first time i actually understood it instead of only just drooling over howl the whole time which i definitely still did TEN / inspiration for muse: a lot of my insp comes from what other ppl make especially my friends. music too is also a big motivator when im making something it usually has to be loud and colorful to hype myself up or playlists inspired by a character if im making something about them in particular. i run on spontaneous spiteful energy so things mostly just happen outta nowhere ELEVEN / dream job: freelance artist or photojournalist TWELVE / meaning behind your url: its just vens name in japanese and i just think he’s neat THIRTEEN / top 3 ships: soriku, victuuri, akusai FOURTEEN / lipstick or chapstick: chapstick FIFTEEN / currently reading: a bunch of oneshots that cater to my poor attention span and 2 gay brain cells. it’s also all victuuri too bc i yearn for tenderness and im trapped in 2016 im legit too shy to tag a bunch of ppl so if youre reading this and want to do this too, consider yourself tagged!

I could honestly stop this answer there, but I get the sense that you’re somewhat confused by the concept of a) multishipping b) shipping something that breaks up the canon couple and c) people liking things you don’t like.

First and foremost, I don’t write for you. I occasionally write for my friends because I like them, but I don’t know you, anon. You’re obviously new to my oeuvre, it’s likely we’ve never interacted before, and I don’t care what you like. I’m writing for myself and, rarely, for friends who I know will enjoy what I’m writing.

I write Vikturio because - shock - I enjoy it. I like the dynamic. It’s a little messed up and a little broken, but I like stories about slightly messed up, slightly broken people making each other better because they love each other. Yuuri tripped into Victor’s life entirely by chance and if he hadn’t, the spiral of apathy Victor was tumbling into might have gotten worse. He might have needed someone close to him to give him a hand up from that. Maybe someone who cares about him enough to make insights into how he’s feeling. Maybe someone who’s shared a rink with him for years and has noticed that he doesn’t seem like himself. Maybe that someone is Yuri. Maybe Yuri has had a crush on Victor since he figured out what attraction was. Maybe Yuri has watched him dominate the field and then lose his inspiration and is desperate to know how to keep that from happening to him. Maybe Yuri has issues with abandonment and intimacy that are different from Victor’s issues with isolation and loneliness, but those issues can come together in a way that makes them both better.

Secondly, I enjoy taking scenarios that would set off every red flag imaginable IRL (for good reason) and exploring the “what if” of that. What if, even though objectively this thing is an absolutely terrible idea and carries a lot of risk, it all turns out okay? What if, against all odds and logic, a relationship that just about everyone would side-eye turns out to be great for the people involved? I mean, you hold up Victuuri as a “good” ship, but let’s think about this for a minute. Yuuri was drunk as fuck when he ground all over Victor and invited him back to Hasetsu--so drunk he didn’t even remember what happened in the morning. And yet, Victor shows up in Yuuri’s hometown literally with his dick out, proceeds to be incredibly forward about what he wants from Yuuri, and keeps trying different tactics to get into Yuuri’s pants when it turns out the first tactic doesn’t work. Victor is putting Yuuri’s career in jeopardy as an inexperienced coach because he’s thirsty for Yuuri’s dick. Yuuri is letting Victor fumble all over the place and largely fail at understanding Yuuri’s performance anxiety because he worships Victor and has since he was twelve. If you want to talk about problematic power dynamics, I mean, Victuuri is far from starting out on equal footing. Victor has all the power, coming in and upsetting Yuuri’s life and career, assigning him a program he’s uncomfortable with, playing with his emotions by threatening to quit if Yuuri loses, holding back on communicating what he actually feels or why he’s actually there, and then in the end allowing Yuuri to push him back into skating because it’s the only way he can keep Yuuri from retiring.

Y’all, Victuuri has fucking issues. They communicate about as well as--well, actually, they don’t communicate, full stop. Ignoring all of the problems surrounding Victor and Yuuri’s relationship--problems that will blow up in their faces if they don’t address them--because it’s your pure canon mlm ship is... disingenuous and does a complete disservice to the complexity of the people and the relationship we were given (note: on a Doylist level you can totally argue that all this communication happened offscreen and we just didn’t get to see it because romance in Japanese media is portrayed at more of a remove than Western romances, without the voyeuristic look into a couple’s most intimate moments, but I’m chosing to take a Watsonian tack with this). Victuuri has a pretty high likelihood of crashing and burning if this was a real relationship between real people.

However, since it’s fictional, it gets to turn out A-ok despite all the red flags and warning signs. And that’s what I like to write about with Vikturio, with Victuurio, with YuuYu, or with any other ship I write that has some kind of inherent power differential that can be a roadblock for a couple (or OT3) to overcome instead of a reason not to do it at all.

People take risks in real life, especially romantically. I enjoy writing Yuri and Yuri ships for a lot of reasons, primarily because I love the frustrating complexity of dating while your hormones are doing tap dances through your brain stem. I was an angry, thirsty, pint-sized fifteen-year-old who knew what she wanted out of sex and wasn’t afraid to go out and pursue it. I dated people two, three, and four years my senior while I was a high school student. I dated people a decade or two my senior when I was in college. And you know what? The one time someone chose to hurt me? He was my same age. All those romantic relationships I participated in when people warned me, “Oh you watch out for them, why could they possibly want to date a teenage/college student unless he’s a creep,” those relationships? I fondly remember those relationships the most, as a time where I was respected, valued, cherished, and allowed to explore my sexuality with someone who actually knew what the fuck they were doing. My very first sexual experience at fourteen was with a girl four years older than me, who stopped when I asked and never gave me any shit about not wanting to touch her in return. I wasn’t ready. She knew it. She respected it.

So, the short answer is fuck off. The long answer is I write Vikturio because it’s nostalgic, because it’s wish fulfillment, because I enjoy the character and relationship dynamic, and because I fucking well want to.

“Change of plans!” Yuri shouted, grabbing Otabek by the arm and hauling him away from the stairs leading to the stage.

“What?” Otabek yelled back, stumbling as Yuri yanked him roughly behind the heavy curtain. When Yuri spun to face him, Otabek repeated himself.

“Those losers,” Yuri threw an angry arm toward the stage where Yuuri and Victor were currently simultaneously giving the whole crowd a joint heart attack. “Look they stole our whole aesthetic! They think they can win this thing by acting like rockers, well then, four can play at this game!”

Otabek lifted a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. “I thought you didn’t care about winning. Weren’t you the one saying I dragged you into this?” Yuri’s exact words had been laced with far less appropriate words, and Otabek bit back his smile as he remembered his friend’s angry rant.

“Well you did,” Yuri threw his hands in the air and stamped his foot. “It is your friend who organized this whole embarrassment fest, and now you are going to help me win it.”

Shaking his head, Otabek couldn’t help both rolling his eyes and smirking at Yuri’s competitive nature. “First, it is a karaoke competition for charity,” Otabek chuckled when Yuri rolled his own eyes, “and second, it was technically my friend’s boyfriend.” Turning to look over his shoulder, Otabek waved in Seung-gil’s direction, seeing his friend’s arm slung over the shoulders of one very excited Phichit Chulanont.

Seung-gil had made Otabek to promise to participate in this ridiculous event, and Otabek in turn had dragged Yuri into the mess. The rest of the skaters had happily joined in the effort to raise money for LGBT+ youth, and Otabek knew that deep down Yuri wanted to be a part of it.

“Earth to Beka!” Yuri snapped his fingers in front of Otabek’s face. “Look, if they are going to do,” Yuri looked at the stage and made a weird noise in his throat, “ugh… that… then we are going to beat them at their own game. Ready to be all lovey dovey?”

The blush was instantly over Otabek’s cheeks as he gaped at Yuri. “I don’t… know… if that’s a good idea…” There were a large number of press representatives and fans in the audience and Otabek wasn’t sure either of them were ready for the rumors to gain any sort of steam.

“Don’t wuss out on me now,” Yuri punched Otabek in the shoulder, “half of these idiots think we are more than friends anyway, might as well take advantage of their stupidity. I want that trophy!”

Stomping away, Yuri left Otabek standing in his indecisive contemplation. He had no idea what song Yuri was going to pick, or if it would be something he even knew, but he figured if it would make Yuri happy that he would do anything. Admitting defeat with a loud sigh, Otabek spun on his heel to follow Yuri back to the side of the stage.

“Don’t go breaking my heart,” Yuri whispered, pressing a microphone into Otabek’s hand and sticking his tongue out at Yuuri and Victor as they walked past.

“What?!” Otabek squawked, nearly dropping the mic as he juggled it in surprise.

“Our song,” Yuri said, turning around at the top of the stairs. “You are Elton John, I’m Kiki Dee. Let’s kick some ass.”

“What a sentence,” Otabek joked, following his best friend up the stairs and straight into his own personal hell.

My Year in Writing

according to ao3

2017 is over! Last year I set a personal goal of writing 100k and I wrote... drumroll please... 58,895 words! Not as much as I would have liked obviously, but I’m proud of where I am now. I’m close to actually completing my first multi-chapter WIP and I’ve expanded my range to few different fandoms and different ships (including FAR more f/f). I participated in three different fic events (I don’t know what else to call them): the yoi-secret-valentines gift exchange, the Otayuri Reverse Bang, and the Kylux Big Bang!

Kylux is still a staple of my writing but I actually wrote more for other ships. On AO3 I only published 5 fics this year (as opposed to last years 9): 1 Rey/Phasma fic (pre TLJ), 2 for Yuri!!! on Ice (one Victuuri and one Otayuri), 1 Supercorp fic for Supergirl, and 1 one-shot for Game of Thrones for my first ever rare-pair fic. I also wrote a couple thousand words of kylux that were more like outlines for a fic and never got posted to AO3 (but are on tumblr).

Published Word Count: 53,311

That’s 9,451 more than last year, but it doesn’t count the (very late) fic I wrote for the Kylux Big Bang, the post-TLJ kylux I’m currently +2k words into, or the rest of Light on the Horizon (most of which is written already). I wrote a couple of original things too which aren’t posted anywhere. So with all that said and everything else personally I’ve done this year, I can be happy with this word count. With a strong start going into next year, I think I’ll keep my goal word count at 100k and hopefully achieve it.

Actually less than last year! BUT I posted four fewer fics than last year and still came pretty close so I feel pretty good about this number. I haven’t gotten any better about judging my work based on what other people think (I don’t think I ever will).

What I Wrote This Year

Like A Doll (Yuri!!! On Ice)- My first fic of the year for the yoi-secret-valentines gift exchange. It continues to be possibly the closest I’ve gotten to writing kink? I still love YOI and I think if someone decided to draw either Victor or Yuri in the costumes I picked out for them I would die. I don’t think my writing is the best in this but I had fun.

Falling Down and Getting Up (Yuri!!! On Ice)- A little hurt/comfort Otabek/Yuri for the Otayuri Reverse Bang. This was the first time I worked with an artist and a beta for the piece and I think it came out pretty nicely. (I just looked, I still love the art by @acecakes . It’s written in a slightly different style for me which I used again with my kylux big bang piece. Whether it works or not is debatable but I think the snapshot style really worked for this one. I think this piece took me a while which explains the super long gap between my first fic of the year and this one.

I’m A Supergirl (Supergirl)- I heard the song Supergirl by Anna Naklab while I was in Austria and immediately decided to write a Supercorp fic about it. This is my first and so far only fic for that show and pairing but I definitely have ideas for more (I’m not super motivated to write anything lengthy for them right now but maybe once the next part of the season comes around). (PS: It has 99 kudos right now, YOU can be the one to help me break 100)

A Moment Alone (Game of Thrones)- I wrote this when I came back from Spain (I think traveling hindered my writing ability) about a tiny moment in season 7. This is a fic that I will admit came out of a personal fantasy and I’m not too ashamed to admit that? I’m curious as to how that actually translated into words, but this fic was certainly fun to write.

Light On the Horizon (Star Wars)- This is the fic I am most proud of this year. I actually wrote most of it last year for NaNoWriMo. I planned it out and tried to write 1k a day for the entire month of November. It was hard and I can’t really explain why it took me nearly a year to come back to it, but I am so happy that it is finally out there. I hoped that it would be completed by TLJ or at least by the end of the year, but I’m not too upset about that. It’s in a good spot and will be finished before I know it! I’m so thrilled by people’s response to it. I absolutely love Rey and Phasma.

I was sick for like half of this week which probably explains why this list is so long? Unfortunately didn’t write much, bc a lot of what i’m doing is behind the scenes stuff with no visible results rn (working on my shitbang fic, working on a few things that I haven’t finished yet). JJ, having a sexuality crisis, propositions Victor, who, having not found his direction through Yuuri yet, is enough of a mess to accept. (My review: JJ/Viktor? And I enjoyed it? No, seriously, surprisingly good!!)

Let Me Sail Across the Sea for there is Never One Who Loved You More Than Me - tothebatcave53 - @tothebatcave53 - Victor has always loved the ocean, he is drawn to it's beauty and it's power. He sets out, a simple day in a simple boat with a simple desire to just exist in peace out in the ocean. When Victor wakes it is to the turmoil of the waves, desperate to sink him and his tiny boat into it's murky depths. It is only the most beautiful hallucination that keeps Victor sane in what he assumes are his last moments. (My review: AHHHH guys i always need mermaid aus i’m fricken screaming this one is so a+ everyone read it)

i’m someone you maybe might love - xylophones - @xyloophones - Viktor sighs. “It’s nothing. It’s just––you never look at me like this.” / “How am I looking at you?” / “Like I’m someone special. Like I’m someone you might love.” / Yuuri frowns. “You are someone I love.” / Viktor shakes his head and laughs, just on this side of bitter. “Not like that, Yuuri.” / (Or: Viktor is not as observant as he thinks he is.) (My review: this is a super precious high school au that i would suggest to everyone because it’s so many amazing tropes wrapped up in one fic)

come with me and escape - La_Temperanza - @teekettle - Viktor meets a hypnotizing stranger dancing in the club and, well, things just naturally progress from there. (My review: hooooo boy nsfw viktuuri week is a Treat. yes. i love this. this is a good trope)

For Your Eyes Only - opalish - tumblr unknown (pls tell me if you know?) - Yuuri once told Victor that Phichit was the only foreign skater he considered a friend. Yuuri lied. He's been Seung-gil's dirty little secret for well over a year. (My review: O H MY GOD so that art of seunggil and yuuri being friends is one of my favorites so i’m ??? so glad someone acted on it)

black box (Ch. 1) - SKnight - @sephknight - The entire world is thrown into madness when all the best actors team up for a new TV show about... skating? Doesn't matter, all the fans know is that this means roughly 273.15% more ice cube jokes, the potential resurrection of some dead memes, and 9999% more Victuuri to scream about and die from. The fans have been thirsty for more Katsuki-Nikiforov co-starred content since 2011, and this oncoming show about ice could just be the thing to quench that thirst. ...Oh god, the bad jokes are already starting. (My review: look we all know i have a Thing for fics with fake social media and this one is ALL fake social media so i’m pumped to see more)

third time lucky - katsukiy - @yuriplisetsk - This year, for Tanabata, Viktor decided to wish for something a little different. (My review: not even double but Triple yuuri!!! oh god we all know here that i have a Thing for multiples, but this is so good)

Dinner For Two - Yuripaws - @yuripaws - Viktor dreams of two delicious bowls of katsudon only to find that he isn't invited to dinner. But he is invited to the show. (My review: MORE. DOUBLE. YUURI. guys i’ll never be sick of this trope and this one is so a+ with our desperate viktor mmm yes)

love’s not a competition (but i’m winning) (Ch. 1) - LittleLostStar, spookyfoot - @iwritevictuuri, @katsukiyuuristrophyhusband - Victor Nikiforov is the leader of the best burlesque revue in the city, and well on his way to achieving his dream goal of a Upper-Level Lesser Kardashian-level stardom, complete with his own reality TV show. So when rival burlesque dancer Yuuri Katsuki scoops Victor's theme night and refuses to back down (or fire those hips that will not quit), it doesn't take long before war is declared—a tense and glittery battle featuring anarchic stagehands, orange light gels, fake eyelashes...and some occasional hate-sex that may not be hate-sex at all. This...probably isn't what you wanted. (My review: ahh such a cool au!! i love the take on the prompt they had and it was so well written :))

Partner, Let Me Upgrade You (Series - Parts 1-4, Ch. 1-6 (Part 1), Ch. 1-2 (Part 3) - cuttlemefish - @cuttlemefishwrites - Z’s Popstar AU (My review: z, i was going to rec all of these individually but then my rec list would hvae gone on for like 50 years. but asfkl; i finally got around to reading it and i’m dying for my Extra sons)

Baby, I’m Preying on You Tonight (Ch. 8) - cuttlemefish - @cuttlemefishwrites - Yuuri and Phichit registered and named the pet shop when they were drunk. They didn’t exactly expect it to become the most popular pet shop in Seattle. (It was only supposed to be a front to fund Phichit’s (undercover) animal rescue missions.) Enter Viktor Nikiforov, the man with the pink Cadillac and the giant brown poodle (that's stolen Yuuri's heart), and Yuuri might have lost his mind, because apparently he keeps flirting with a client – and he never even notices. (My review: the jjs will never cease to slay me. viktor and chris especially cute in this chapter)

patellofemoral pain syndrome (Ch. 3) - seventhstar - @pencilwalla - It’s just…does Viktor not get bored with doing it the same way every night? Doesn’t he want to spice things up? Is Yuuri being unreasonable? He’s pretty sure that if Viktor told him his performance in bed was unsatisfying his soul would flee his body for a more merciful plane of existence, but…Viktor is thicker-skinned than he is. And so here they are. Viktor’s bed is wide and soft, and Yuuri is lying there with wet hair and ratty boxers while Viktor absently trails kisses over his shoulder. It’s nice. It’s soft. It’s good. Viktor’s headboard is enormous and Yuuri keeps thinking about Viktor’s wrists bound to it, black rope over white skin. Fuck. He should say something. (My review: mmm arthritis porn except nuri didn’t give me porn this chapter)

Yuuri has never been gregarious, and finds it difficult to make prolonged conversation with strangers at parties; he dreads having to speak to Viktor for so many hours. After all, a figure skater’s greatest commodity is often their feet, taking the brunt of the damage required to hone their craft. He knows whatever tender loving care he gives now isn't enough to erase years of self-inflicted abuse, not in a single session. But it doesn't mean he's not going to at least try.So, Viktor starts with the feet. But the thing is, he rarely gets much further than that. (My review: FOOT FETISH i hate feet and this story was still a+)

The Katsulanont Guide to Surviving College (Rice Cooker Required) - xylophones - @xyloophones - It’s Phichit’s fault. It’s always Phichit’s fault. (Or: A friendship told through three hamsters, a rice cooker, and the resurrected trade-and-barter system.) (My review: i think i laughed like 3/4 of this story it’s just,,, so in character for them and ridiculous)

Colored Pencils and Markers - RainyTea - @rainyteawrites - Viktor finds Yuuri’s poster collection, but there’s another surprise in there too. (My review: yuuri’s poster collection with a twist ;) ;) loved it)

Wanted: Skating Lessons - slightlied - @forovnix - Wanted: Skating Lessons / Hi. I am Victor and I need to learn how to skate before Saturday. My parents have been paying for me to get skating lessons every week for the last fifteen years but I never actually attended any of the lessons and I spent the money on marble busts instead. Now they want me to perform to ‘Stammi Vicino’ at their wedding anniversary on Saturday. / If you can teach me, be here at Ice Castle tomorrow at 7:27am with an extra pair of skates. I am a fast learner (well, at least my dog Makkachin is–it took me only two weeks to teach him how to roll over) so I am pretty sure I will pick it up quickly. Meet Your Idol! - RoseusJaeger - @roseus-jaeger - Ryuugazaki Rei has been a fan of Katsuki Yuuri since he was in grade school, admiring his beauty and grace on the ice. It's Katsuki's last season on the ice before his marriage to Victor Nikiforov and Rei would do anything for an autograph before his official retirement... or at least he thought until his boyfriend, Nagisa Hazuki, actually plots to get him an autograph at the NHK Cup. (My review: what you probably sort of know about me is that i love free! so this was a great read and roseus did so well with all of the character and i loved it)

(Let’s Get Married) At First Sight - cuttlemefish - @cuttlemefishwrites - Yuuri is just your average medical resident trying to survive an emergency room rotation at a large, city hospital, when a perfectly gorgeous stranger interrupts his after-work coffee break with the assumption that Yuuri is his blind date. What’s Yuuri to do? – Pretend he’s definitely on a blind date, too! Or, the "I know you're on a blind date and I'm not the right guy, but it's been a while and now I don't know how to tell you that you sat at the wrong table. Call me?" AU. (My review: this is so super precious asfdsljlk i love that yuuri just went for it instead of correcting him)

He Just Up and Ran Away (So I’m Never Going Back) (Ch. 1-2) - cuttlemefish - @cuttlemefishwrites - The back of the silver card reads Fantasies by Lilia, and Viktor lets his thumb brush over it with intense scrutiny. The name on the front winks at him with the glint of danger: Alex. “Oh, Yuuri, are you cheating on me?” Viktor whispers to himself, crumbling on the bed with the onslaught of a panic attack. Yuuri is Viktor’s everything; the first boyfriend he’s had in almost a decade, after years spent too busy lost between circuitry and code. But then he notices that there’s a stack of similar looking cards that read Celeste, Adrian, Robert, Michael, and Yuuri. All of them read Fantasies by Lilia. Or, welcome to the story in which Viktor discovers his boyfriend Yuuri is a high-class escort who takes on different identities and lives for different clients, including Viktor, who thought he was saving a stripper by putting a ring on his finger. (My review: i hvae read like maybe 1 escort au in this fandom bc i’m always very,,, eh about it but i’ll try anything z does nad it’s??? so good)

Katsuki’s Pet Needs (Ch. 1) - nerdlife4eva - @n3rdlif343va - Yuuri Katsuki owns a small pet store in a little town on the coast. He loves running his own business, and especially loves Sundays when his best friend, Phichit, runs adoption events for his animal rescue organization in his store. Victor Nikiforov has always wanted a dog, excitedly attending the scheduled pet adoption hoping to find his first furever friend. Another universe where these two find each other, this time with a little help from the brown fluff of Makkachin herself. (My review: THIS IS VERY PRECIOUS. if you want shameless fluff, read this!!)

Hunter of Eros (Ch. 4-5) - LalodyBear - @lalody - Lord Eros is perhaps the oldest of all living vampires and a legend among hunters. For thousands of years no-one has been able to slay him and stop his evil reign. Victor Nikiforov is the greatest hunter to have ever lived. ~ After seemingly endless sightings of newborn vampires appearing across Japan, Yakov's hunters are sent to put a stop to it. During a hunt, Victor Nikiforov has his first ever innocent witness to a slaying - Yuuri Katsuki, an utterly adorable local. After being cornered into staying with the group of Russian hunters, Yuuri just prays Victor doesn't find out his secret and slay him in his sleep. (My review: ahh it’s been so long since this updated, and i’m so glad i’m patient because i love this au so much. i don’t even care it took so long like ?? take that long always if you’re gonna give me quality content like that (which i’m sure you will))
