That thing where you're writing a fic and you're like, "It's a good thing this character's an expert in [obscure niche skillset] because it'll be perfect for the plot."
And then you realise that you have to do some googling and research [obscure niche skillset], even if you're not that interested in it yourself.
And then years later, you still remember random facts about [obscure niche skillset], which come up once in a blue moon in real life, and you can never be honest about how you know so much about [skillset], so you have to lie and be like
"Urrrrg I learned it from the usual place the neurotypicals learn all their useful facts. I read it... on a.... tampon box?"

Want some random knowledge I got from Google this week?
If your stomach hurts after consuming sugar, eat a bland piece of toast, without anything on it, to offset the sugar imbalance.
If you can't sleep at night, put your tinge in the top of your mouth, keep your mind blank and breathe slowly. Harvard students do this.
(Not from Google but something I found out myself) If you can't relax your body, imagine a wave of calmness moving across your body. Imagine that it goes from toes to the top of your head leaving behind no movement, your body will feel like stone afterwards.
Feel free to reblog with more advice.

I have a question.
Does anyone else believe that Thomas Holland (son of Joan of Kent) great 4x-grandson of Eleanor of Aquitaine, named his daughters, Alianore and Eleanor after her? Like, I might be seeing things, but think about it. What if he admired her so that he named his daughters after her, and talked about her life to his children, thus leading to his son, Edmund, naming his own daughter Eleanor?
Am I crazy? Do I make sense? Does anyone else knows what I'm talking about?

You know it’s really fun seeing an actor from something you like (power rangers for me) just randomly appear in a new piece of media. Especially if the new media they’re in is very popular.
I’m always happy for em like “Hell yes, get that money”
For example

do you ever have writer’s block and so you google “how to overcome writer’s block” but then you just spend several hours reading articles about overcoming writer’s block and procrastinate doing that then gradually end up deeper and deeper into an internet rabbit hole about the psychology of creativity and motivation and but the time you finally realize what’s happening it’s 1 in the morning and now you know a bunch of really random neuroscience things about neurotransmitters and risk-reward processing and motivational salience and you never actually got back to the thing you were writing

because I felt like it
Word of the day or whatever:
The word humour originally meant quite the opposite of what it does today. The word came from the ancient medical theory of the four humours. If you were in a bad mood, feeling melancholic, or your behaviour was unpredictable, people would have described you as being humorous.
In the 16th century, people who were overly melancholic or whose extreme behaviour was unpredictable were frequently the object of ridicule in plays and essays. As a result, the word humorous, which at one point meant melancholic, took on the meaning of laughable.
The four humours were as follows:
1. Choleric
2. Melancholic
3. Sanguine
4. Phlegmatic
These four terms are still used in medical settings.
And they all represent a lot of different things today too,
Originally they were:
1. Choleric
• Yellow Bile
• Hot, Dry
2. Melancholic
• Black Bile
• Cold, Dry
3. Sanguine
• Blood
• Hot, Wet
4. Phlegmatic
• Phlegm
• Cold, Wet
Today the four main natural elements, prime colours, body parts, seasons, ages, zodiac types, and astronomical bodies all came from the original four
1. Choleric (yellow bile)
• Fire (Hot and Dry)
• Yellow
• Gall bladder
• Summer
• Childhood
• Fire Signs (Aries Leo Sagittarius)
• Mars
2. Melancholic (black bile)
• Earth (Cold and Dry)
• Black
• Spleen
• Winter
• Old age
• Water Signs (Cancer Scorpio Pisces)
• Saturn
3. Sanguine (blood)
• Air (Hot and Moist)
• Red
• Heart
• Spring
• Adolescence
• Air Signs (Gemini Libra Aquarius)
• Jupiter
4. Phlegmatic (phlegm)
• Water (Cold and Moist)
• Blue
• Brain
• Autumn
• Maturity
• Earth Signs (Taurus Virgo Capricornus)
• Moon

i love studying. i love writing. i love reading. i love learning languages. i love doing mathematics. i love wandering over some particular sum and trying to come up with formulas to solve it. i love physics. i love biology. i love chemistry. i love history. i love literature. i love learning.
not to achieve the perfect grades ever. but it just amazes me that there's so much to know and learn and write and read about in the universe. my curiosity wouldn't get enough of it.

Uncle Damian Mode ACTIVATE
Twins Danny and Damian but! They both know where the other is (Damian going to Bruce and Danny being sent to the Fentons on a mission at a young age), has kept in touch and all that.
They just...never got around to telling anyone about the other.
That is until Danny comes interrupting Damian on patrol one night in a panic, pushes a bundle into his arms and hurriedly says "Read our texts! It'll explain! I gotta go, got a fruitloop on my tail! Be back when I can!"
And rushes off. When Damian looks down at the bundle in his arm, ignoring the yelling on comms and Nightwing rushing over, he is stunned to see a almost identical face to that of his brother staring back at him, only he can tell its female from the more delicate features.
When he later reads the texts his brother sent during his patrol... well he's tempted to go fruitloop hunting but he has a niece to take of... and inform his father of his granddaughter he's currently holding.
