In 1698 Captain Edward Rigby was the first man in history to have been entrapped and arrested for sodomy (a capital offence).
Rigby was first the captain of the Mermaid fireship (1693), then later until his arrest, he commanded the Dragon, a 40 gun man- of-war. In early 1698, Rigby was court martialed for committing sodomy with another man but he was acquitted.
Reverend Thomas Bray thought Rigby was guilty. He was a member a reformation society whose goal was to eliminate profanity, immorality, and other lewd activities; and of brothels, prostitution, and acts of sodomy in particular. Bray set up a trap with the help of the local police. He arranged for a servant named Minton to approach Rigby. Minton described what occurred in a court statement when he met Rigby to watch Fireworks at St. James Park:
“Rigby took him by the hand, and squeez'd it; put his Privy Member Erected into Minton's Hand; kist him, and put his Tongue into Minton's Mouth.”
Minton resisted but Rigby continued to pursue him. They agreed to meet the following Monday at the George-Tavern. Feeling shame for what had happened, Minton asked a friend for advice which eventual lead him to agree to entrap Rigby at the tavern. The two police men hid in an ajoining room with instructions to Minton to shout the code word “Westminster” if he was in danger.
When Rigby and Minton arrived at the designated place, they continued kissing like the night before. Minton told Rigby “might do what he pleased" and Rigby pulled down his breeches and put his finger in Minton’s “Fundament”. When Minton felt something lagainst his backside, he reached back and grabbed Rigby’s “privy member”, saying:
"I have now discovered your base Inclinations, I will expose you to the World, to put a stop to these Crimes.” Then he shouted "Westminster".
The Constables immediately entered the room and arrested Rigby for attempting to commit “abominable sin of sodomy”.
At his trial Rigby’s defense was:
“It’s no more than was done in our Fore-fathers time." Referring to historical figures who were reported to have had sex with other men.
He also claimed that another clergyman had bribed two men to falsely accuse Rigby of sodomizing them.
The counter claim was not believed and Rigby was found guilty. He was sentence with a £1,000 fine, and ordered to stand 3 times in the Pillory for Buggery.
After serving his prison sentence, Rigby fled to France. But in 1711 Rigby was caught disguised as a French sea captain trying to renter England. Before he could be arrested again, he escaped back to France. He was highly regarded by the French for his marine skills, and very well paid.

One of my first queer crushes was Amanda Bynes dressed like a dude in She’s the Man. I remember 11 year old me watching that movie and getting all hot and bothered and thinking “whoa uhm okay I need to reel this in” Why do queer brains function like this??? I’m very attracted to masculine women and feminine men. Being queer is just a constant strange observation of my own sexuality 😂
He's the real ex-angel Lucifer except him and his brothers fell cause God wanted to delete their sister from existence for feeding a human she had fallen in love with angel food to save him. God. Wanted to get rid. Of his sister. For saving a human.
So he did war about it, and lost, and now he's a demon with stress and a homoerotic bond with the Lord of the Devildom and 6 unruly little brothers which are the other avatars of sin.
He's like a middle aged single father and he needs a break I stg. He's getting grey hairs! Some of those are caused by the MC also! Because they're a little shit sometimes! Also he's hot. Wears glasses sometimes. I think they should actually salt and pepper his hair but no one listens to me and my huge brain. Give him wrinkles also. I know hes an ageless being but I want hot middle aged men and not just more twinks.
Sorry that's unrelated op my bad. Anyways his family is chaotic but he still loves them deeply despite it all.
Lucifer (WicDiv)
Luci is the heart of WicDiv. It's a book about her. Or, more accurately, it's a book about her death. She's an irreverant hedonist, a lonely teenager thrust into stardom, and, above all else, the Devil Incarnate.
WicDiv is incredible, a masterpiece of indie comics, and all about 12 teenagers (mostly 18-19yos) who incarnate as gods - they will be loved, they will be hated, within two years they will be dead...and Lucifer is the first to die, though she does it before her time.
SPOILERS, but she gets better, and the ending is incredible - they all announce that they're giving up their godhood to end the cycle / save everything, and Lucifer goes last, and follows the same, "I'm not a god..." format, only to go, "...I've never been a god. I'm Lucifer." And it's iconic. And the scene that follows it up, where "Persephone" goes to rescue her - "there were two girls in hell" ??? incredible.
Also, in universe after her death, people started wearing Lucifer Died For Our Sins t-shirts, and they started selling them as real shirts, and I think it's fucking hilarious. https://wicdiv.threadless.com/designs/lucifer-died-for-our-sins-dark/mens/t-shirt

This was our secret place. And all the shit that's going on out there, it's very suspicious," London shared. And the word "suspect" just translates as "suspicious".

Inhaler
Elijah Hewson, vocalist and guitarist of Inhaler, is the son of U2 frontman Paul Hewson, better known as Bono. Hewson's parents hold the position that Elijah must achieve everything on his own. They don't help their son more than they need to: even when his hotel reservation was canceled during the band's first tour, his parents told him to sleep "on a park bench." Interestingly, the band's name, which translates as "inhaler", was given to the band because of Hewson's asthma.

Taipei Houston
Taipei Houston is a new band featuring two sons of Metallica founder Lars Ulrich, Miles and Lane, who play drums and bass guitar respectively. After Lars heard them perform the classic Beatles' Eleanor Rigby, he said he was proud of his sons. In his opinion, none of the covers of this song were filled with such energy and madness of garage rock.

I recently had the pleasure to witness Dru Hill live last summer at their Summer Block Party Tour alongside Jodeci and SWV in Charlotte, NC. Despite the persistent sound issues and the sweltering heat, it was amazing to see Sisqo pushing 50 years old sounding just as he did 20 years ago. Now granted, I did understand this was not a Sisqo concert and not taking away the solo musical work from his accompanying members, but I would’ve loved to hear more of Sisqo’s solo work versus just his “Billboard charting features” such as “What These Bitches Want From Me by DMX” and “How Many Licks by Lil’ Kim”. Sisqo was set up to be the “Beyonce” of Dru Hill and had a successful solo album in his own right, and according to their Unsung special, that fact led to the dissolution of Dru Hill. So why isn’t it highlighted?
Of course, his most iconic solo song was the “Thong Song”, a song inspired by a true story of one of his first sexual encounters with a thong. Now, I’m not surprised by this song reaching this pinnacle of success. With rewriting the string line of “Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles” and investing his money into the visual effects found in his music video, it was bound to turn into a bop.
Like fickle humans tend to do, we forget. We forget to show the same appreciation for the body of work that one bop encompassed. True R&B connoisseurs respect his additional single “Incomplete” as a beautiful ballad, co-written by another R&B legend Montell Jordan. He also slid in some very sensual bedroom bops with “How Can I Love U 2Nite” and “So Sexual” which shows Sisqo’s range from the up-tempo “Thong Song”. In short, the “Unleash the Dragon” album is home to a lot of bops and underrated ballads.
So, a question I ask so often is, why did the success stop there? He was on track to be the Beyonce of Dru Hill. Initially, I would assume it was due to all of the legal woes like his Victoria's Secret lawsuit, his publishing settlement, and unpaid royalties lawsuit that his most successful single gave him, but that was not the case. In his own words, he didn’t play the industry game. Instead of utilizing label recommendations, he seemed to always leverage his inner Baltimore circle in the sectors of his musical career which resulted in Sisqo being blackballed and penned as “difficult”. Just like Janet Hubert, the original Aunt Viv, once said, being labeled “difficult” (especially as a Black woman) is the kiss of death. Nonetheless, the R&B community is thankful for his solo contributions despite it being a short time, it was a good time.
