An important reminder. The oppressed have never been peacefully awarded freedoms. Our rights were paid for in blood and tears... are BEING paid for, pound-for-pound in flesh. Property is never worth more than life. The colonial plague of property has not only caused the greatest atrocities in American history, but it poisons the valuations we give to the lives of our fellow man TO THIS DAY. It only makes sense that a society that robs people THIS VERY SECOND of their labor and livelihoods, for a pipe dream of perpetual growth, will turn around and execute those people swiftly, under the systemic pretense that black people’s lives do not matter. As a member of a community whose voice was erased by genocide, I stand with my black brethren against the failure of the American government, whose cornerstone is the coffin of a slave. ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽

@forthepeopleartists has created their 2nd rapid response graphics portfolio featuring artwork from non-Black Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi artists in solidarity with  #BlackLivesMatter and the uprisings to demand justice for  #GeorgeFloyd,  #BreonnaTaylor,  #TonyMcDade, and all Black people killed by state and police violence.
"This project emerged as a response to anti-Black violence happening in Chicago's Chinatown in the past week and is expanding to respond to anti-Black violence outside of Chicago as well.
We are calling in the non-Black members of our communities to do deep heart work and take bold action. We must acknowledge the ways we have benefited from Black liberation struggles and take responsibility for how we've turned our backs on and actively engaged in the attack on Black lives. We must take all the necessary risks to defend and protect Black people and uplift the demands of Black-led movements for liberation."

*The White House has a history of giving vague, unhelpful responses or ignoring these petitions but I’d still suggest signing and making your voices as loud as possible. It can’t hurt to try.
@icatboy on Twitter: “you guys don’t sign those white house petitions sadly they don’t do shit, those were only effective under obama’s administration and mean nothing in 7rump’s term. they aren’t obligated to give us a statement after 100k signature sadly”
I still have them linked below in the petitions section for those who want to sign

Contact Officials
GEORGE FLOYD is the name of the man who was murdered by DEREK CHAUVIN (badge 1087), TOU THAO (badge 7162), Thomas Lane, and J Alexander Kueng. If you truly care about getting justice, make phone calls to these numbers and express your anger. We cannot let another killer cop walk free.
UPDATE: As of May 29, Chauvin has been charged for third-degree murder. Continue pressuring officials for harsher charges because what he did was clearly not an accident. Also continue pushing for the other cops who were at the scene to be charged.

Hello [recipient],
I am writing to you in regards to the incident that occurred at 100 High Park Avenue on May 27th, 2020. A 29 year-old Black woman, Regis, has died after allegedly falling off her balcony, despite police being present.
As a concerned citizen, I am very upset and disturbed at the events that took place and the allegations that this caused on the part of the police. I am demanding justice and answers as to the death of Regis Korchinski-Paquet.
A complete and transparent public and independent investigation needs to take place. Charges need to be brought to all the officers involved, as well as all information and evidence should be made available to the public.
Sincerely,
[your name]

The past few days have been heartbreaking, despondent, and infuriating, to say the least.
I know I will NEVER be able to understand the fears and frustrations black people deal with every single minute of their lives. Family, friends, teachers, fellow artists I've collaborated with.
And sadly, with how unstable and irrational our world is becoming, posting anything on social media no matter how peaceful you try to seem or good the intentions, will be lashed apart by people from all sides to such a phenomenal degree.
I know that sharing the links to petitions/organizations below and voting are the only real means I can do now to ensure actual change and justice are performed.
I do NOT condone violence of ANY kind.
From ANYONE.
Whether it be physical, emotional, or through words in a comment on a social media platform.
If you disagree with that in any way, that's fine. But that's my stance.
There is TOO much hatred and vitriol on full display right now from all sides of all arguments and all backgrounds.
We MUST DO BETTER. That's how real change happens and progressing to a better world happens.
I just hope more people will lean towards doing this.
Peacefully yet progressively speaking out against injustice.
So with that being said, PLEASE sign the below petitions/donate to the organizations in the article below to help.

London has the most cases of covid-19 in the UK and Black people are at a higher risk of catching the virus. Act accordingly. Your health comes first. You do not have to feel obligated to come if you're not well enough of have preexisting health problems that could be exacerbated if exposed to covid 19. There is plenty you can do without protesting.
London has the most cctv coverage in Europe. Only 5 cities in the world have more and they're all in China. The most cctv populated city in the US is atlanta and London has nearly 100 times more cctv cameras than Atlanta.
And our cameras are ADVANCED.
They are not as fuzzy and useless as the media and crimewatch makes it out to be. These cameras can and will find you, they are crystal clear, a decade ago you lipread on someone from far away in some areas in Zone 1. And most of the protests are planned to be there.
If you are going to protest in London keep in mind that lockdown had not been entirely lifted yet. You still have to abide to social distancing rules. And if the protests have a large turnout you could find it hard to keep to the rules due to the nature of crowds.
This is a good excuse for police to arrest you or detain you, despite them flocking london bridge every thursday in masses to clap for the nhs. And with the lockdown they are bored and looking for a reason to interact. Most people aren't even afraid of the virus anymore and will invade your personal space for some confrontation.
Conceal your face. Wear goggles, masks, hats and be wary of piercings on your face. Cover them.
Wear neutral, non branded clothing in dark colours. No brights or flashy labels. Cover all tattoos and even hair if it's easily identifiable. I would recommend having your hair in a low bun with a plain cap/snood or using a dark plain scarf to wrap your hair.
Wear shoes you don't mind recycling/throwing away. They can sometimes be a giveaway on times of turmoil.
You may benefit from packing a change of clothes
Knee and elbow pads may prove useful should the riot police come. They have these shields and batons that hurt upon impact to dispel crowds. Try forming a barricade with fellow protestors should it happen.
Wear gloves. Tear gas isn't used in the UK. They use a PAVA, kind of like pepper spray but worse. Get heat resistant ones, some weirdos are known to throw fire crackers and being able to lift and throw one out of harms way is always useful.
No jewellery, no contact lenses, no ties or loose hair.
Learn the area. Learn the side streets so you can easily slip away when it gets too crazy.
If you must use TFL DO NOT use contactless credit/debit cards, student oysters or freedom passes. Use unregistered adult oysters or buy a paper one day pass. It may cost more but it makes it harder to track you if things go sour.
Pack water and snacks. You may find most shops still closed and queues for off-licenses. It's summertime now and the stone buildings make the city feel very hot.
DO NOT RIOT OR LOOT. These are peaceful protests as of now, there is no valid reason to start that. You risk tarnishing the genuine protests and getting them in trouble should you get away.
When travelling turn off your phone. Keep it on flight mode when on. You can still use emergency services on flight mode. I would recommend keeping it off unless you need to record something or need to call 999.
Consider going with friends. Have a plan on what to do if you need to split up and an assembly point away from the protest area to reconnect.
Some extra things that may prove useful:
A sharpie pen to write down important numbers or emergency contacts. On your skin or on paper.
An inhaler/insulin/medication. What may have been planned to be a 3 hour event could go on longer, you don't want to be caught in an avoidable medical pinch. Especially with how the nhs is being overworked.
Don't carry ID.
Don't tell social media you are going. Deleted posts can still be recovered most of the time.
UK police don't use tear gas. They use PAVA, kind of like a pepper spray but it hurts a lot and could leave you blind for about 20 minutes. Again, wear goggles.
Don't rely on uber unless it's an emergency.
Follow your gut instinct. If you don't feel comfortable there is no shame in leaving. Or perhaps you'd like to standby and offer other support like first-aid or refreshments. Do what you're okay with.
This is not just for our siblings in the US. This is also for our UK siblings who have been murdered by the UK Police. Stephen Lawrence's murder got the police force to openly confess to institutionalised racism. We may not have guns and people yelling slurs at us 24/7 but the UK has a big racism problem. Our prisons have a disproportionate level of minorities in them. We face medical racism, we get told we're "overreacting" to blatant acts of discrimination due to this forced sombre attitude all Brits must have.
We matter.
We deserve better.
Black Lives Matter.

Oh God, where to start with this scene.
First, I love how everyone is really offended by Fish Eye’s rudeness right now.
Second, this entire sequence actually made a much stronger argument for Fish Eye being transgender or nonbinary in the Cloverway dub, if you can believe it. Since it was the 90s and this aired on Toonami, to cover up the queerness the dub made Fish Eye into a woman much as they did with Zoisite. Cloverway!Fish was voice by Deborah Drakeford.
They edited this scene heavily when the episode aired on TV and on some of the English dub tapes. They had to cover up Fish’s chest to obscure their nipples. But on the uncut tapes and DVDs, the scenes were unaltered. HOWEVER, the dialog is changed to Cloverway!Fish declaring “I’m different from the rest of these bulbous bimbos” right after SHE rips off the clothes.

Welcome to the Wednesday Walk Around the Web, where we weave & wind through weblinks weekly. Hopefully you will find the links on offer amusing, interesting, or informative.
This week’s Walk comes with a content warning for murder, white supremacy, abuse, and other miseries that define our moment.
It’s hard to know what to even say and what to even do when the most powerful organized crime syndicate in the US, the cops, start rioting once again in revenge for the mere suggestion that they shouldn’t murder so many black people in cold blood, that a mob with a habit of strangulation should be held to account for its crimes, that buffoons who fall off of their murdermobiles and immediately pepper-spray an empty crosswalk should not have access to lethal weaponry and the tools of chemical warfare, that thugs who openly drive into groups of people should be met with more than utter cowardice on the part of politicians who supposedly have authority over them.
Likewise, it’s hard to know what to even say when the president has protestors tear-gassed so he can stage a Christofascist photo op.
So what can one say? The most important voices to listen to on the white supremacy baked into the United States (et alia) and seeping out of every crack in its national edifice are the voices of those in the communities that are targeted. Historian Keisha N. Blain sketches the context of the current uprisings. Historian Carol Anderson does something similar highlighting the complicity & active participation of cops & government in Jim Crow-era lynchings, in parallel to the ropeless lynchings we see today. Some time ago, Samuel Sinyangwe described his data-driven analysis of what does (demilitarization, investing in more appropriate first responders) and does not (body cams, skin-deep training sessions) work to curb the brutality of law enforcement, with much more detail here.
And what can one do? You can go protest, of course — in full consideration of limited precautionary measures for protesting during the pandemic (as well as methods of treating and cleaning up after tear gas assaults) and if you’re not immunocompromised or otherwise particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. You can give to bail funds if able. You can film the thugs when you see them prowling the streets.
Not all methods of fighting back can be as large-scale as seizing a police precinct. Acts of solidarity can come from near or far, like bus drivers in Minneapolis who refused to collaborate with the cops to abduct protestors en masse, or even K-pop fans who flooded the Dallas cops’ video-snitching app with videos of their favorite artists.
Facebook, for its part, amplifies fascist propaganda and pretends that some of its employees have a conscience about it while simultaneously suspending someone who does valuable work with historical photos for…posting the photos.
One last note on Minneapolis: Feeling that the Minnesota governor’s response lacks a certain element of total acquiescence, Minneapolis cops’ union president Bob Kroll has been conspiring with the state’s senate majority leader to stage a coup and seize control of the state’s National Guard from the governor.
RIP Tony McDade, a black trans person murdered by cops. Due to this and the ongoing pandemic concerns, the LGBTQIAP+ community has decided to skip Pride Month and proceed directly to Wrath Month.
This Week in History: On June 1st 1927, Fred Trump was arrested at a KKK rally.
The US Supreme Court rejected a California church’s attempt to spread COVID-19 in the most efficient way it can via business-as-usual services. Barely, in a 5-4 decision, sparking a blistering dissent from Justice Blackout O’Rapist.
Perhaps it doesn’t speak to the better angels of our nature to think about a group of people in terms of their worst members, but I can’t help but gawk in the manner of a zoo-going child at evangelical Christians like this man who spent ten years stewing about one of his daughter’s exes, then wrote him a letter strewn with scriptural demands for restitution via Dorian Grayification, as an alternative to literal slavery. This touches on so, so many things: the desperate yearning to limit and control women’s sexuality that the concept of virginity derives from; the vicious possessiveness people feel over their children; the emotional fragility and inability to express oneself in any way other than ludicrous anger that lies at the heart of mainstream masculinity; the cultlike echo chamber that surrounds these people to the extent that they start claiming to have literally seen a literal hell; the misuse of and entitlement to Jewish scripture by Christian conservatives…there’s an entire sociology curriculum here, plus some theology studies on the side.
We’ll now turn to matters other than the gaping maw of despair actively swallowing us whole. This Week in Actual Possible Consumer Products: The Testicuzzi is a tiny contoured hot tub intended to simmer a person’s balls. According to the official website it started as a riff between friends, who shortly launched R&D on it through the power of excess expendable income and/or venture capitalist investment — truly a vivid demonstration of late-capitalist decadence.
So, how’s at-home schooling going for everyone toward the end of the school year? Not so great, it seems, for students whose AP exams weren’t accepted because the submission systems can’t open their photos.
Deepfakes don’t need to be dystopian nightmares — they can also bring us Notorious B.I.G.’s rendition of Modern Major General.
This Week in Things I Learned About Computer History: Task Manager, one of the most valuable and most useful additions to Windows, was a side project one programmer tinkered on on his own time. This was also the same person who wrote Space Cadet Pinball, so he performed two great services to computing culture.
I’m sure emergency room workers can develop a sort of gallows humor about the more absurd parts of their jobs, such as one ER that maintains a display of fishing lures extracted from patients.
“It was all a dream!” is a popular oh-so-edgy fan theory about movies & TV shows, often a crude way of jamming a childhood favorite into a blinkered view of adult seriousness. Folks really need to cool it.

Almost immediately Fish Eye’s modeling clothes for Yoshiki, and they’re acting like a total ass about it. They won’t stand still for measurements and are yelling at the seamstresses for stuff Fish is doing. Yoshiki’s assistant tries to play peacekeeper, if only for his boyfriend’s sake, and Fish blatantly doesn’t care to the point of ripping the clothes off.
At the very least, this is simply obnoxious jackass behavior but not potential stalker/rapist behavior as you’d expect from Tiger’s Eye or Hawk’s Eye.

Okay, so obviously we’re jumping forward a bit straight to the fourth season, Sailor Moon SuperS, which as many of you remember is the one with the stalker horse.
The quality on these images may be poorer than the previous liveblogs because these are rips from an older edition. I’m just glad I finally found a place I could get the videos from.
