Snow Man’s Snow Life - Transform into Sengoku Warlords! 1

With Children’s Day fast approaching, Watanabe Shota and Abe Ryohei wear armors and transform into warriors. A talk about historical figures!

"History has that sense of wonder. I like topics like Ancient Rome!"

"Someone who has excellent intelligence is more fascinating than a warlord."

Abe’s weak point is history!? Who is his favorite historical figure?

Watanabe Shota and Abe Ryohei show dignified expressions while wearing armor. Sengoku Warriors who time leaped into the present!?

Abe Ryohei: I had the chance to wear amazing armor when I appeared in (Ichikawa) Ebizo’s ABKAI 2019 - SANEMORI.

Watanabe Shota: Ah, that’s right! That’s how it was for Abe-chan and Date-sama (Miyadate Ryota).

Abe: It was heavy. I was able to wear nice armor. It felt like it was for the Boys’ May Festival. (laughs)

Watanabe: Wasn’t your armor color red that time too?

Abe: Yeah!

Watanabe: It’s because of that memory that instead of novelty, I think “as expected, it suits Abe-chan”.

Abe: That makes me happy! It might be because it’s black and less bulky but Shota looks like a ninja when you’re not wearing your warrior’s helmet.

Watanabe: Ahahaha! But this was quite heavy~

Abe: It was. It’s why we got excited. It felt like we were wearing real armor.

Watanabe: Because of that weight I realized that this is a project for Children’s Day (laughs).

Abe: I didn’t think I’d wear a warrior’s helmet as an adult (laughs). They said that the sword I had today was as heavy as a real one!

Watanabe: So that means that people from the past were fighting while carrying this weight!?

Abe: Their arm strength is unbelievable. We had a sword fight in “Takizawa Kabuki ZERO” using lighter armor, right?

The armors we prepared this time were modeled after Maeda Yukimura and Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Abe: I am Maeda Yukimura and Shota’s is Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Watanabe: I somehow know Tokugawa Ieyasu, but who is Maeda Yukimura?

Abe: ... I don’t know (laughs).

Watanabe: Eh!? Even Abe-chan doesn’t know?

Abe: Actually I’m not very knowledgeable about history. I’m not good at Social Studies.

Watanabe: Even Abe-chan has a weak point (laughs).

Abe: Even though History often appears in quiz shows... it’s why I lose (laughs).

Is there a historical figure or warrior who appeared in a drama that you’re interested in?

Abe: History... How about you? (laughs)

Watanabe: As for me, I’m interested in the person who made the map but I forgot his name.

Abe: Inoo Tadataka?

Watanabe: Maybe? (laughs) The person who made the map by surveying the area himself. I asked how the map was made when I was in class and just thought “that’s amazing!”.

Abe: Right! Seeing how the places you walked on translated into lines.

Watanabe: Maybe I see smart people as more fascinating than warlords?

Abe: If that’s so then Tokugawa Ieyasu is also someone who relied more on his intelligence than his strength.

Watanabe: That’s nice. I also prefer brain games to bloody fights. Like someone who invents things. If we pick an icon in modern times, then maybe someone like Einstein.

Abe: Einstein’s good too.

Watanabe: I think the words he said then still resonate with us living in the current time. “A person who never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” I really like that quote.

Abe: Even Mark Zuckerberg seems like he will become a historical figure.

Watanabe: He will. Michael Jackson will also become one. It would be good if Sakamoto Ryoma is also a sure winner.

Abe: Among those frequently mentioned, I like Uesugi Kenshin.

Watanabe: Who was he again?

Abe: Kenshin is also a general that fought against Takeda Shingen. I’m not good at History so this is the only thing I remember (laughs).

Watanabe: I also don’t see a lot of period dramas.

Abe: The drama I saw at Sunday Theater, “JIN” (’09, TBS), was interesting!!

Watanabe: There might be a lot of those fantasy-type shows during our time.

Abe: Yeah. Like Nobunaga Concerto (’14, Fuji TV)!

Watanabe: Yoshitsune too. Something like “they actually survived”, those kinds of fantasy period dramas are interesting.

Abe: Yes. Like it was actually a body double that died. The more I look back at history the more I get a sense of wonder. I like topics like Ancient Rome! Around the time Heliocentric theory came about.

Watanabe: You somehow said something good! (laughs)

Abe: I like the first person who insisted that it’s not the sun and planets revolving around the earth, but it’s the earth revolving around the sun!

Watanabe: It definitely has that sense of wonder!

The armor was quite heavy, so Watanabe, who couldn’t stand, asks the staff for help and finally makes it in front of the camera. But as expected of those who performed “Takizawa Kabuki”, their posture while holding the swords was perfect.

Watanabe: There was no hesitation.

Abe: We naturally drop our hips when we have a sword.

Kuki Urie

🖤Urie would honestly accept that offer of his darling even if it doesn’t make him happy. He had numerous reasons to go along with it and his high possessive drive is only one of many. He’s at this rate honestly breathing for his darling since he’s past the point of a strong infatuation by now, his darling is heaven and earth and he’s desperate to prove himself to them and earn their love. He doesn’t show it openly but next to him being worried for their safety, he’s also afraid that someone will try to woo them so even if you don’t return his feelings, he hopes that he feel better with the knowledge that no one would act on interest for you when knowing that you’re in a relationship. So even if this is fake, he’s too messed up to reject by now, though the toxic relationship has him acting accordingly.

🖤His insecurities have to take scratches knowing that you still don’t return his feelings despite him doing his best and so the ever known fear of not being enough crashes down on him. He gets so incredibly possessive and consumes all of your free time in hopes of gaining your affection. His insecurities lead to burning jealousy when he sees that someone manages to flatter you since he knows that you might leave him if you love someone else so he scares everyone away who you show even the slightest bit of interest. He won’t be able to live like this for too long though so it’s either that you truly fall for him or he kidnaps you because his paranoia and fear got the better of him.

Mayuzumi Chihiro

⚪️Mayuzumi is a realist and a good stalker so he just observes for a long time before he decides to make a move. Earning a offer like this in return is not what he really expected and he’s pissed off because of it. The boy can be very mean and criticizing, at least on the inside and he might just let his sharp tongue slip in a sarcastic tone about how kind your offer is. That doesn’t mean that he’ll reject though, he thinks it very carefully through about whether he wants to accept it or not. Obviously he’s hurt by your indifference about his feelings even if he knows that he hasn’t been very present in it so far. He has a chance to change that now though and so he agrees, with darker intentions than he lets you know.

⚪️Chihiro sees the chance to have you finally notice him since he’s been so far quiet and isolated so you don’t know him well yet. He’s very self-centered and does things that he enjoys after all so he takes advantage of your naivety in regards of him. He’s naturally a loner so he prefers to spend time alone with you which allows you to only really talk and focus on him. Talented in guilt-tripping you to stay with him since his lack of presence leads to people often not paying him much attention and if he truly needs to do so, he’ll voice out some harsh opinions about you, even if it leads to you feeling ashamed and even if people are listening. He’s creating a spot reserved for only him in your life, a huge one, and the knowledge he has about you from his stalking phrase is quite useful as well.

Ryota Suzui

🎴Suzui has a low self-esteem about himself whenever you are involved since he’s a fool diseased with the sickness called toxic infatuation. He knows very well himself that he is full of flaws and more on a cowardly and average side yet he wants to be acknowledged and noticed from you so badly that he sometimes feels like going to his knees. His feelings are so obvious so there’s really no need to hide it since he becomes a red and bashful mess whenever you do as much as look at him. He’s positively devastated when you react in such a way that makes it sound like a little gamble for you as well yet he doesn’t hesitate to agree. He’s feared you’d not return his feelings, he hasn’t done much to impress you anyways so that’s the best he can get. What matters for him in that moment is that you don’t throw him away completely, at least decide to give him a chance.

🎴Even if it’s more out of boredom and curiosity, a way to entertain yourself. That’s enough for now, he’s so happy when you let him walk with you and inform others that you’re more or less in a relationship with him despite knowing he shouldn’t feel that way. The bitter reality gnaws with sharp teeth on him though and he has had some small meltdowns because of it. Mary is furious that you give him false hope and that Ryota even accepted, Yumeko watches more curiously though she cares as well. Suzui just wants to be loved though, even if that love isn’t genuine so he dedicates himself to be helpful to you and with time he might fully delude himself into thinking that you care about him too since you haven’t tossed him away yet.

Higuchi Ichiyo

🔫Higuchi has a high fixation on her darling which is nothing short of obsessive and she’s loyal to the end of the end. Incredibly stuck on the thought of being together with her darling and she is delusional since she sees her unwavering feelings and her devotion as nothing wrong nor her jealous behavior and she won’t even shy away from misreading actions and words of yours. When she confesses, her face is red and she might just stutter a bit even if she tries to remain cool-headed. When she’s met with your rejection though, something inside of her shatters and she feels that close to tears until you suddenly make a suggestion which has her picking up hope and pushes her delusions.

🔫Higuchi’s loyalty and her determination next to her sheer need to be in a relationship with you are her biggest weakness so even if she gets hurt in the process, she grabs that chance greedily. She acts so sweet as well if you overlook her clinginess, affectionate nature and how easily she can get triggered from her jealousy. The poor woman asks merely for you returning her feelings and she does everything she can to show you that she is a attentive and good partner. She’d prefer a normal relationship over one where she has to kidnap you since she is scared what you’ll think of her if she’d reveal her other side. Higuchi is ruthless to those she views as a threat to you or the relationship though.

Gilthunder

⚡️Gilthunder is a sweetheart and a hopeless romantic as well and it’s not hard to see that he loves s/o judging from the happy and adoring grin he constantly has on his face when with them. Slightly jittery when he decides to confess his feelings and he has a small blush on his face as well, tries to be confident though. His giddiness shatters pretty much the moment darling explains that they don’t feel the same yet are willing to try. Truth be told, he does not know how to answer to that and instead asks for some time to think this over. He wants the feelings to be mutual if he’s going to be in a relationship with you since it wouldn’t be fair otherwise, for your feelings as well as his own. The Holy Knight falls into a slight depressive phrase after and Margaret and his friends try to somehow help him with his heartache.

⚡️The problem with Gilthunder is that he is semi-aware only. He has times where his mind simply decides to fool him to believe that you can love and adore him the same way he does you if he’ll just spend more time with you and pour his heart out more before he snaps out of it and falls back to feeling heartbroken. He doesn’t avoid you though, he’s too protective for that and not seeing you for more than a few days unless it’s absolutely necessary is unbearable for him. He will probably decide to try to make you fall in love with him before he starts a relationship with you, the problem is that he, intentionally or not, already acts like your sweet boyfriend.

Narancia Ghirga

🧡Narancia is prone to outbursts of violent and/or sad nature so the moment you start to explain that you simply can’t see him that way, he’s already at it. Understand him though, he has abandonment issues and has fallen hard in love with his s/o. Mix that up with his already premature behavior and childish attitude and you get him bursting out in tears whilst crying and yelling at you. His heartache is temporarily taken out on you since Narancia is delusional in the worst sense that he wholeheartedly believes that you like him as well and doesn’t understand why you’d say such cruel words at him.

🧡So congratulations for pouring fuel in his delusional inferno because the very moment you suggest that you can still try it out with him, he’s already snapped back into the belief that you definitely are in love with him as well. You wouldn’t offer him this otherwise, wouldn’t you? He won’t think much about it though, he just jumps at the chance and from that day on you’re doomed. His possessive, clingy, childish and jealous personality is terrible and he lets his anger out on everyone who breathes in your direction in threatening and violent ways and constantly smothers you in affection. He’s an attention seeker as well who constantly wants to be shown love as well and he starts loudly lamenting like a child about it if you don’t do it. Narancia has no problems to abduct you either if he becomes too much for you since he clings on his belief that you still love him and are just confused and being manipulated by something.

Wave

🐟He’s officially on cloud nine at one point because Wave falls hard and fast at a shocking rate. It has to be said that he’s very level-headed and only wants the best for his s/o since he knows that the Empire is evil and wishes to protect you from all harm in the world. Wave’s problem is that he can lose his composure very fast if it comes to you and he tends to have his delusional side taking over as well. You just shattered his heart the moment those words left your lips and he has to resist the urge to cry, your offer takes him by surprise though and even if some part of him wants to agree eagerly, he hesitates. Much like Gilthunder, Wave wishes for a romantic relationship where you love him and he loves you, he fantasizes about it.

🐟This is just not what he wants and so he declines your offer with a bitter and heartbroken smile. He spares the tears for later, until he’s back in his room where he can fully let out his pain and frustration about this situation and Kurome and Run are willing to listen and comfort him. Wave doesn’t really know what he should do after he had calmed down, already wondering absentmindedly if he should have accepted before someone tells him that he did the best thing to not end up hurting himself even more. The young man has a strong desire to be useful to you though and like a puppy he can’t leave you alone at the end of the day so he winds up continuing to dote on you and taking the position of the fool who hopes for the best. He wouldn’t kidnap you though unless he’s truly desperate or paranoid about your safety.

Izuru Kira

🟨The betrayal from his Captain left him with scars which he carries around and affects the way he behaves around his darling. He’s grown slightly more paranoid out of fear to be betrayed again, is obsessive and stalks his darling. Kira…hesitates for a long while whether he should confess his feelings or not since he’s more sensitive than he admits, knows he can’t keep hiding his emotions though. He’s nervous yet slightly hopeful, sobers up the moment he has to hear that you do not feel the same. He hides his feelings for now, showing a poker face so no one will realize how much that just hurt, even if there is a hidden storm inside his eyes.

🟨Upon your willingness to try a relationship since you don’t have anything else to do, he is met with conflicting thoughts. He finds it cruel for you to just offer him this despite knowing that you don’t love him and he’s serious, another part of him is at this rate too fed up to wait and risk losing you to someone else though. His indecisive nature has him retreating for now and he is even more introspective and quiet than usual, still won’t tell anyone why though. Izuru falls into the category of a delusional sweetheart and with that he will probably make up his mind to agree to your offer. He just wants his s/o and their love and if they don’t love him, he’ll make them love him somehow. If that means that he has to resort to emotional guilt-tripping that is fine, he’ll make it up by making you happy and feel loved.

Hinamori Momo

◾️Aizen’s betrayal was nothing short of devastating for Hinamori since she greatly admired and idolized him so she ends up in a similar situation as Kira. She fears greatly that her darling will leave her for someone else and for that reason she glued herself to your side whenever she can afford and she tries to be always there whenever you feel sad. Just like Kira she shys away from confessing since she doesn’t know how well she would take a rejection, it’s hard to keep quiet since she’s so obsessed and lovestruck though. Differently from Kira, she can’t keep the horrified and distraught expression out of her face when her confession is being turned down and she’s already busily in the process of grieving until she hears you saying something that she can’t wrap her mind around.

◾️Initially she is not a fan of the idea since she desires a relationship where the love is mutual yet she will act in the end hasty out of overflowing love and her paranoia. She’s quicker than Kira in that aspect, but Hinamori never uses manipulation on her darling. She holds onto her ideals of a relationship achieved out of pure admiration and love and can’t bring herself to harming her s/o or tricking them. She’s a delusional sweetheart herself and attempts to do anything she can to make you feel happy and loved and hopefully have you returning those feelings really soon. Hinamori…just wants happiness and love after all the sadness and sorrow she had to go through.

Chae Yul

💜I feel like he would be one who would just latch at the opportunity, even if it’s not the relationship he really does desire. That is because Chae Yul feels like he genuinely can’t live without you. He’s anyways absolutely crushed and ruined after you already told him that you don’t feel the same way he feels so having you offering him still a relationship, even if one-sided, saves him a complete breakdown which wouldn’t end pretty by the way. Be aware though that he’s highly toxic and willing to go far to eventually have you return his feelings, though having you for now as his and knowing that he is yours is for beginners not bad. He starts working truly sinister after he’s more or less your boyfriend though since he starts to manipulate you into spending more time with him until you have to ditch friends and family to keep up with him and isolates you slowly but surely.

💜He’s constantly showering you in affection and often forces you via guilt-tripping to do the same since he is incredibly dependent on your affection to at least keep some sort of self-control together. Chae Yul has a high capability to end up kidnapping his s/o though simply because he’s way too paranoid and only wants your love, otherwise he can’t carry on. And as mentioned earlier, he’s ready to go far to reach his goal and if that means that you’re stuck in his room and he’s the only one you have as a real human contact, there is no problem with it in his twisted mind. He’s the only one you need anyways since he’ll love, protect and cherish you like no one else can.

Health and Sports Day 2 Once again another school day came and went with your friends. Mr. Mononobe had just finished with closing announcements and one of them struck your fancy since you had never heard of it before. After the bell rang you immediately turned your spectacled friend Shiro and inquired what your teacher meant by "Field Day". Shiro was taken aback by your lack of knowledge on the subject given your nack of getting involved in a number of projects at a time. "Well it's quite literally as advertised- it's a day primarily spent in a field revolving around various sports and activities. The practice started decades back to promote a healthier lifestyle in students and faculty alike and the tradition has just sort of... stuck. That's about the gist of it anyway. The actual history behind it is quite-" Your muscle bound friend Kengo groaned in annoyance. "Seriously Shiro only YOU could make a workout boring." Shiro glared at Kengo with anger. "Excuse you but the annual Field Day is about more than just some goofy sports, Kengo. It's about a better and balanced lifestyle overall." "Yeah but that doesn't change the fact I've beaten you at almost every competition when we were younger~" Kengo playfully gloated which is something Shiro pouted to and wanted to argue further, but knew that if he engaged with his childhood friend's antics then he was likely to say something he'd regret. You then asked your more upbeat friend Ryota if he ever attended. "Hmmm, I did once. They had some pretty tasty snacks and refreshments during breaks. I think they even had Gabriel perform once..." You were convinced that sounded really cool but the others gave Ryota a bit of a confused look. Toji, your more serious and introverted friend, had replied to Ryota with "I don't believe that was what you were meant to gleam from those experiences, but..." "I say we just let him have fun." Moritaka, one of your closest Therian friends, pointed out. "After all a day full of various activities and interacting with others sounds like a wonderful time." "Wait Moritaka you haven't been to one either?" Shiro asked. Moritaka went quiet for a moment suddenly lost in his thoughts. "M-Mori? You okay?" Kengo hesitantly spoke up. The Therian sighed. "Truth be told I have been once the year prior. Though unfortunately I could not participate due to... being incapacitated during most of it." "H-How the heck does that happen!?" "Well, most of the equipment used for decorations had been used for many years. They're quite prone to tipping over if you bump into it." Everyone was stunned before Ryota commented. "Wow I never took you to be that much of a klutz." You stammered out to him in shock and you could have sworn you heard Moritaka whimper in embarrassment. "Ah- I-I'm sorry! It's just you're always so careful with your sword and such it's weird to hear you talk about mistakes like that." "No one is infallable. We all have our... weaker moments." Toji looked away as he may have been reflecting on his own moments of weakness. You were in disbelief how casually Toji was admitting to a mistake and tried to offer him a compliment- one of your brand of course. This made your classmate incredibly flustered. "Y-You shouldn't just casually call someone that in front of your peers..." "Especially in front of your more attractive mates right here partner." Kengo pointed out rather annoyed. "Don't let it get to your head..." Shiro muttered. The air was beginning to grow awkward and you suggested to go to the base and continue the conversation about the Field Day there. You even mentioned your interest in attending. "O-Oh you're planning on going?" Of course! Why wouldn't you? It sounds like a lot of fun! "You have a real habit of acting spoiled." Toji sighed. "I understand your excitement for all things new and interesting, but please keep in mind those of us that keep you in our thoughts." You weren't quite sure what he meant. "Aren't you worried you're overdoing it a little? You're constantly throwing yourself head first into things and... I- er, we don't want to see you hurt." N-Nuh uh. You are always careful and ready for anything. Besides nothing that's gone wrong hasn't gotten to the point of being irreversible! "That's... not the point, but..." Kengo let out an irritated breath. "None of us can go with you. We're all busy that day." Oh. Why not just say so? "Well you're my partner, if I don't got your back... I just don't like thinkin' about you always going off on your own." "I hate to admit it, but he's right." Y-Yeah but they'll all just be a phone call away right? "Sure, but..." "We're worried about you. I can cancel my plans with Maria and Choji if you-" Ryota suggested before you cut him off. You thanked him but you didn't want him to cancel his plans for your sake. Plus it's been a long time since he was able to have a day to see other friends. You also brought up that when was the last time that everyone got to do something they wanted on their own? Your friends remained silent since a lot of the time as of late they've been glued to your side in one way or another even going so far as to accompany you on trips to the bathroom. So as guild leader it was your executive order to take a day off! That even extends to your other members! ~~~ A bit of time had passed since your declaration to your guild members in the classroom. While you felt sure of yourself at the time you were starting to have a bit of doubts about it. At the very least you were hoping they wouldn't be too despondent with you afterwards. In an attempt to get the worry out of your mind you went on a stroll on your own just a bit before curfew. On your route back you couldn't help but overhear some rather serious students having a conversation. You didn't mean to eavesdrop on the conversation but something compelled you to since it seemed like some students were cornering one girl with a pair of red glasses and chestnut hair in a ponytail. "You seriously can't convince him to join our team?" One of the students asked the girl. "Um... No, sorry. He's uh... really looking forward to volunteering at the medical tent this year." "Seriously? That job's so lame!" The second student commented. "Is there really nothing you can do to convince him otherwise?" The first student stepped closer to the girl and before you could step in you were shocked when she took a step forward which immediately made the other student back off. "No. He's already made a decision about what he wants to do. Why do you care so much NOW of all times anyway?" After she had asked this the two classmates backed off a bit more. "It doesn't matter all that much. He just skips out on club practice a lot you know." "Uh huh." The girl sounded rather incredulous to their insistence. "W-Whatever. We gotta go back to the dorms. Don't be late." The two classmates scurried off as if all their resolve melted away after she had used some backbone of her own. The girl huffed in annoyance as she mumbled to herself about how they never showed any concern before. You attempted to walk to her and ask if she was alright. The girl suddenly took a look of shock with you approaching her. When the girl didn't say anything the silence between you two was growing more awkward so you tried asking if she was hurt. "I-I'm fine." She said rather curt. "I need to go though. It's almost curfew." Flustered she suddenly bolted away from you. For a girl of her stature she had a rather impressive sprint. Now that you thought of it where did you see that uniform...? Uh, wait. She said curfew right? "M-Master!" Salomon leapt from your phone and right in front of your face. "What are you doing ogling!? You've only got ten minutes to get back to the dorms before curfew!" You affirmed this and patted your little buddy on the head. "Aww~" Salomon purred with glee as you called him a good help before the two of you took off for your own school. "I agreed to help wash some of the track shirts and shorts for tomorrow." Yui sighed. "You know you don't have to do that- it isn't your job." "I know. But I was already working on my own clothes it just sort of spiraled from there. Besides it's not like I'm gonna need the energy to keep up." Yui hesitated since she knew what his word choice meant and while she wanted to say a lot, she just felt it was all things she's said before.

I’m assuming that I can include their negative traits of their personalities as well 👀 Also including Momoi in this… lots of analyzing for this hc, so I used my brain here pls appreciate AGAIN these are all headcanons/interpretations of possible toxic hcs about them and only a few are canon

[Headcanons]

Kuroko Tetsuya

Kuroko is the hardest person to find a “negative/toxic” trait in, and it doesn’t seem like he has any

kind, understanding, hardworking, and compassionate; he’s everything a good-natured protagonist is

but he’s only like this to people/hobbies he cares about/close with; anything else he’s quite apathetic and also very passive/neutral about

the biggest hint to this is when Akashi criticizes Kuroko for cherry-picking who the GoMs should “go all out against” and who to casually toy with

and Akashi is absolutely correct

most of the series is portrayed through Kuroko’s perspective, and Akashi is the first direct outside perspective who comments on his actions/attitude

it’s obviously not that Kuroko didn’t “notice”... he clearly sees and knows what these GoMs are doing; after all, he had a conversation with Aomine about how observant he is to everything around him

of course, if you were close to him, all your opinions and issues matter to him

it’s the fact that what’s not really important to him is suddenly now important just because someone he knows is involved

just an example: if someone was advocating climate change, he has no opinion on it until someone he knows cares about the issue

in other words, he has a subtle hypocritical view on things, especially when he interacts with others

another clear negative trait could be that he’s too idealistic or perhaps naive, seeing things in a clear black-or-white picture and not necessarily a gray area

WE know, as an audience, that the GoMs honestly needed therapy and a proper adult to guide their out-of-control talents

but Kuroko, in his eyes, had viewed them as “bad” and “evil” in their ways of basketball until they changed after their respective matches

he’s probably someone who doesn’t yield to other opinions once he forms his own, and this may make him unable to consider things in other people’s perspectives

which is again, ironic: someone who doesn’t have generally a strong stance but once they do, it’s very unyielding, which further proves Akashi’s comment about Kuroko’s tendency to nitpick which to care about

a final hc about a potential flaw he might have here in a different ask!

Kise Ryota

y’all… it’s as canon as day that he has a mean side

straight from the author himself, it’s confirmed that Kise is only kind to those who he respects, and to the rest, he’s cold-hearted

in the manga, it’s very clear that he’s super judgmental on every first impression on people he meets, boxing them into categories based on the way they look, act, and speak

only when they surpass his preset expectations (low or high depends on his preliminary judgments of them) is when he opens his mind to the rest of their personality

this is a very close-minded way of thinking, and I hope I don’t need to explain why LOL

this can be interpreted as him being two-faced by the majority of the people in his school

his way of speaking can definitely be very cruel and crass, and to sensitive people, his words can easily shatter hearts

Kise’s negative/toxic traits are pretty straightforward here, so let’s move on

Midorima Shintarou

his harsh words can be considered a “negative” part of his personality, but I think it’s a lot more than just that

it’s confirmed in the series that he’s a bystander and almost always minds his own business

on one hand, one can say he’s self-driven and that he constantly strives for self-improvement

on the other, it can be interpreted as him being very dangerously ambitious and selfish, in which most actions he takes are for the sole reason of self-improvement and not for altruistic reasons

for example, when he helped Kuroko and Kagami in the training camp, it was under the reasoning that them becoming stronger would be a good challenge for himself to test and learn

that’s not to say that he can’t have friends, but most friendships he’s built are with capable people who can potentially provide him with some new beneficial skill/goal to strive towards

after all, he’s only learned to trust Takao as a friend only after seeing him as someone capable

because he’s so focused on himself, he’s extremely likely to turn a blind eye to injustice, most also likely to use Oha Asa to justify their “misfortunes” as he continues on his day

he’s not cold-hearted, but altruism comes by Midorima a lot rarer than the average person

now, we know that his Oha Asa aspect is used to balance his serious side as the “comedic side” of him, but if we really think about it, his obsessions with the horoscopes could be a huge obstacle in the future, where he may refuse to listen/depend on others in favor of his own intuition and the stars; after all, no one knows everything, and depending on the stars as one’s next source of advice and guidance isn’t a sound decision to commit themselves to

he seems like the person who overthinks and jumps to conclusions when it comes to social situations, but instead of confronting the person, he turns to fate and fortune if Takao isn’t near to help

Aomine Daiki

I wouldn’t be surprised if Aomine had a skewed sense of beauty standards from all those magazines he consumed and from being around Momoi for the majority of his life

of course anyone can distinguish pieces of media from reality, but during the most impressionable years of life, without experiencing other types of people and physiques, he would have limited knowledge on what “beauty” is and whatnot

this probably would be more of a problem in his adolescence than adult

a very given negative trait is his short temper plus his tendency to turn to physical violence when someone nags him to a certain point, seen with how he’s treated Wakamatsu in the beginning (though this seems to almost disappear by the end of the series)

what I’ve noticed in every scene he’s in, is that everything seems to revolve around him and his hobbies of basketball and Japanese idols

what I mean is that everytime we see Aomine, it’s always Momoi approaching to Aomine or just him always being the center of attention; never once has he approached Momoi for anything and it’s always been the other way around

in other words, people have to cater to him in order to get along with him/be in good graces (additional example: Imayoshi letting him do as he pleases to get him to be cooperative and participate in the games)

we’ve actually never seen Momoi’s hobbies outside of being a manager for her basketball teams and just anything basketball-related

he can be quite apathetic, choosing to only pay attention and try in things he’s interested in… which is basketball and those magazines

he seems to mature in the Last Game though, so I’m not quite sure to what extent these headcanons would apply to older Aomine (these also don’t really apply to Puremine)

Momoi Satsuki

the author probably also included this type of anime trope as comedy, but belittling another female for her body is definitely a no-go in reality; I feel like this is something most people gloss over really lightly

her body comments on Riko are actually what made me skeptical of her character at first before the show really shows her entire personality

that being said, it seems that she always takes the opportunity to look down on other girls (especially to those she is a stranger to) as a sort of “competition” when there’s boys around

definitely at certain moments, she screams a “pick-me girl” type of person (real phenomenon, you can search this up!)

while Kuroko doesn’t seem to actively mind this, I think she also has no good sense of boundaries and what’s considered appropriate touch and consent; people can chalk this up to “oh it’s just infatuation,” but this definitely isn’t okay if we really think about this

her life also seems to revolve around either Aomine or Kuroko, and based from that, I’d feel like she’d have a difficult time forming her own identity/life separate from her “manager life,” especially once she graduates from Touou

can definitely be interpreted as too clingy at certain moments, while others may think it’s her way of showing that she cares

Murasakibara Atsushi

most people would chalk up Murasakibara as “lazy,” and on the surface level, it does appear to look that way…

I think his true negative trait is that he has a lack of intrinsic motivations to drive him to do things

it’s different from being lazy; someone can be lazy while still having a goal, and certainly someone can be lazy while they’re motivated by thoughts of “I want to learn more,” “I want to get stronger,” etc. (you guys, it’s me right now in college)

and he doesn’t have that

part of this was contributed to the fact that he’s already so gifted with genetics and thus, there’s never been a goal for him to have to work towards to when he’s already at the top

he doesn’t actively seek out, and while that may be a characteristic of sloth, it’s not exactly right either

he willingly does things if people around him give him the motivations/reasons to do so; a person of sloth wouldn’t do anything even with all the motivations and goals handed right to their face

snacks/food are examples of extrinsic motivations that fuel him to carry on daily life

Himuro is always the main motivator for Murasakibara to come out and watch matches, and he also does whatever Akashi orders in both Teiko and present days // a person who can give the giant the motivation to do tasks would get along with him the most

searching out for a challenge against his basketball skills is something that’s never crossed his mind

why? he grew to be like the way he is because of the lack of results from his “search” of a challenge throughout his games

again, it’s only when Murasakibara gets handed a silver-platter of a challenge, Jason Silver, that actively gets him pumped up and raring to go

as such, Murasakibara is equivalent to a rusty machine, extremely difficult to start up and find compatibility with, but very powerful and efficient once he finds that spark

Murasakibara finding any partner or friend in the future would be extremely difficult because he ticks a different tune from the rest

Akashi Seijuro

his entire Bokushi side was a giant-ass red flag for very obvious reasons LOL anyways, moving on…

it’s difficult to pinpoint a negative characteristic for Oreshi because he’s the pinnacle of a gentleman character… but that technically is also his negative trait

for him to maintain that perfect image for himself and others, he has always carried himself in such a way that doesn’t allow for errors or expressions of “weakness”

thus, bottling up his frustrations and emotions to the point of no return is something very familiar to Akashi, and I’d feel like Bokushi is the result of his overflowing emotions left unchecked in the first place

I also predict that if Akashi continues to carry himself without letting himself wind down and feel emotions on the spot rather than locking it up inside him, a day will come when he splits into two halves again with a “new” Bokushi to deal with his current life (and let the current Oreshi take a backseat in his psyche to take a break from the turmoil)

also will tend to overwork himself to manage people’s expectations as well as his own, and he’s not one to depend on people not because he sees them as inferior or incapable, but because he’s doing this out of habit from being in positions of authority and responsibility for much of his life

and so, he may tend to hide important things or just not speak about his problems in general to those close to him because he feels like he can do it all himself and spare everyone the work and stress associated with them (a leader mentality)

throughout the majority of his life being calm and calculated, his emotions would definitely escape from him in forms of uncontrollable lashes of anger… before he would realize what he’s done… that is, assuming that another Bokushi hasn’t form within his subconscious yet

A Day Without Boredom

It's Been quite awhile, but here i am with a lil short story

Enjoy~

"And for today your royal highness we have a most riveting schedule planned~" The Prissy droning of the court attendant bored the prince to no end.

Prince Kiome, heir to the Shinjuku Kingdom almost desperately fought the urge to sleep, stifling a yawn as he sat amongst an empty throne. His father had been away making treaties, leaving him and his advisors in charge, most matters were settled quickly by the advisors court leaving the poor royal with nothing to do. Back and forth he watched them pace, stating one mundane task after the next. He’d surely die of boredom if he sat there any longer.

“Yes yes, that all does sound truly… riveting- alas I do have matters of my own to attend to and won't be able to join you, Agyo.” Part of him felt bad for lying to the therian, but as he made strides out and away from the throne room he found himself piqued with the sudden interest to do some exploring. Down the winding halls embroidered with their families crest, the wandering prince made his way from room to room. Surely there’d be something to hold his attention. On his travel he’d visited their libraries innkeeper shiro engrossed with sorting newly imported knowledge, the little D-evils waving as he passed by. Kiome found himself amused at how they attempted to lift the large stack of books in their tiny claws. Continuing, the prince found himself opening the castle's training barracks, finding none other than the two highest ranking paladins going head to head in what was sure to be at least their tenth brawl of the day.

“HaHa!! That now makes it 15 to 13!” Kengo’s gloating surprised the royal- had they really done this 28 times. Sure enough his opponent wouldn't let it end there.

“Again! This time you’re going down in one strike!” The bold claims of Onikawa spurred his fellow paladin further as they prepared to do battle again. Streaks of lighting began forming around the two, the air stilled around them as if anticipation of their clash. Kiome thought it best to slip away now before any major damage happened.

Cutting across the courtyard into the castle’s west wing, the boy arrived at the sorcerer's study. Stepping inside he was met with the sight of a young apprentice staring at a brown satchel in deep concentration. Beside him sat an almost comically large Chest- it seemed to hold some assortment of potions within it.

“What ya workin on Hanuman?” The prince's inquiry seems to break the boy's focus, and he falls back on his hands with a winded huff.

“I'm supposed to put this chest into the bag there, but I never learned a spell for that-” The apprentice replied, wiping sweat from his brow. Kiome chuckled and gave a smirk.

“More like you weren’t paying attention when master Tsathoggua was teaching it to you.” Hanuman pouts in response to the Prince’s jab. He stands taking a moment to stretch before trying again. With a glow of his hands the large chest begins to rise, and floats at Hanuman”s side. Guiding it slowly he tries once more to shrink it into the brown satchel laid on the floor.

“There we go- nice n easy now..” Hanuman’s focus almost impresses kiome as he watches in anticipation. Unfortunately the chest only gets about halfway down before it suddenly pops back to its original size, spilling the tiny flasks along the floor as well as tearing the small satchel in two. The bag, seemingly enchanted with Tsathoggua's magic begins to sow itself back together, Hanuman picking up the stray flasks and placing them back into the chest.

“Heh- you almost had it there-” Kiome says biting back a snicker at the apprentices sour expression.

“I- couldn't do it with you here watching!” he spouts as an excuse trying to hide his embarrassment. Kiome simply waves him goodbye and continues down the hall. He was nearing the kitchens, where a scent of cinnamon and vanilla seemed to permeate the air. Slipping past the bronze doors, Kiome finds himself staring at the cooks assistant whose expression is undoubtedly focused. He’s staring at the oven, seemingly counting the seconds under his breath. Before long something emerges from the stone oven the wafting smell of sugar and cinnamon drawing the prince closer.

“O-oh, your majesty I didn’t see you there.” Ryota stammers lightly dusting off his flour coated apron. Getting a better look at him Kiome notices the bits of dough and flour spattered on his cheeks, and can't help the small blush that graces his own. It was an impossibly cute sight.

“U-um, what brings you here today?” The baker steps closer to the royal, and Kiome notices the dusting of flour amongst his autumn red hair.

“Nothing really- just wanted to see what Choji was up to, i guess he must be off with my father..” Strangely enough the prince is nervous, poorly disguising it with a forced chuckle..

“W-well if his majesty isn't preoccupied would you like to come help me?” The bakers offer is topped with a toothy grin that Kiome can bring himself to say no to.

“Sure… but I’m not much of a baker mind you-” He’s cut off mid thought by Ryota taking his hand and leading him towards the marble counter. Kiome can’t help the ensuing redness in his cheeks at the contact. Ryota is blushing as well but the smile he’s wearing never falters. The prince removes his regal garments and is given a silver apron, rolling up his sleeves Kiome prepares for the challenge at hand, rolling dough. What he isn’t prepared for is the baker guiding his arms from behind, rolling the pin in a set rhythm. The prince can hardly focus on the task at hand with the sudden closeness between them, seemingly fixated over how smooth Ryota’s hands feel over his.

“There ya a go- wonderfully rolled~” Kiome finds himself at a loss for words at the compliment. It encourages him to try further, and as they move from task to task the royal begins to feel even more at ease.

Kiome is hardly aware of how much time has passed, only at the fading sunlight coming from the windows does he realize how late it's gotten. He’s sitting on the window’s ledge sharing the fruits of his labor with the redhead next to him. The buns are a bit lumpy and front loaded on the sugar but to the two of them it's perfect.

“So Good!! Do you always get to bake such sweets??” Kiome exclaims. The boy next to him shifts nervously offering a small laugh.

“Well with Choji here i don’t get to do much on my own-” Ryota’s response surprises the prince, he definitely seemed experienced enough on his own.

“Well I’d love to have more of your baking anytime~” Kiome says with a glazed smile. Ryota’s eyes perk up, and the expression of joy on his face renders the prince speechless.

“How's about I make you my own personal baker-” He adds with a wink, sending the redhead into a stammering fit, his face as red as the strawberry filling in the buns.

“I’d Love That~”

Kuroko no Basket Headcanon : GoM (+others) Horoscopes and Planetary Positions (Sun and Moon Sign)

Going full Oha-Asa over here, I really wanted to write something on it. As meticulous as Fujimaki-sensei is, he already noted what sun sign each and every character is born under. The internet is filled with Zodiac stereotypes and sets every signs into boxes: this character should be like this and all. But the surprising thing about Kuroko no Basket characters is none of them fall under their zodiac stereotypes. So I looked around and discovered that in Eastern Astrology, especially Vedic astrology each sign of the Zodiac is divided into 2 and a half star division, which makes two people of the same sign completely different persons. That makes 12 Zodiac Signs ruled by 27 different constellations! I was inspired by an Youtuber called “Claire Nakti” who sheds some brilliant light upon it. So here is my take on it.

The calculations I did is based on the Cafe Astrology

I will also try to add different characters of the same zodiac signs to prove my point. So This may get a little longer. I understand there could be jargons and all, so I will be adding English names also so that you can read about them.

Disclaimer: I ain’t no astrologer, I just made an analogy to an anime where Horoscope is much discussed topic (by a certain Green haired character) so I thought why don’t I pull an Oha-Asa in my way?

Kuroko Tetsuya (31st January, Aquarius sun-Scorpio Moon, North Node and Jupiter Influenced)

Kuroko has always been unique as a character in sports anime. His sun sign falls in Aquarius in Shatabhisa constellation or The Constellation of 100 healers (eng: γ Aquarii), and his moon falls in Scorpio, in Vishaka Constellation or The constellation of Tree branches (eng: α, β, γ and ι Librae ). His sun position makes him not hesitate to sacrifice his self-interests to stand by his principles. Indeed Kuroko is a moral person and calls out the wrong, even though his enemies are larger and scarier than he is. This moral nature is further heightened by Jupiter ruled moon sign: Vishaka people are clear speakers, unique thinkers and justice lovers. Kuroko may be soft spoken but he clearly depicts all of those qualities.

Looks wise Nodal males have light, magnetic wide eyes. North node of the moon is the shadow of the moon, and Kuroko is the “phantom”, an illusion which is also under the domain of the North Node of the moon: as sun plays a forefront in astrology, his Sun ruled Aquarius north node perhaps makes him the way he is. His name is “Tetsuya”, which was written in Katakana; if it were written in Kanji it means “Philosophical”. North node controls darkness and illusions, out-of-the-box ideas, Jupiter controls morality and higher truth: His name is “Kuroko” (child of the dark) “Tetsuya” (Philosophical)

Kise Ryota (June 18th, Gemini sun-Scorpio Moon, Jupiter and Mercury influenced)

That is a really odd combination for Kise, because Jupiter characteristics are not at all frivolous and smiling all over the place like Kise. His Gemini sun falls in Punarvasu Constellation of the Constellation of “Return of the Good” ( eng: Castor and Pollux ), and His moon sign is in Scorpio in Jyestha Constellation, or the constellation “of the elder” (α, σ, and τ Scorpionis). Both of his constellations sit at the cusp of air (Gemini and Libra) and water signs (Cancer and Scorpio). This brings two things in line: Air sign gives him his mutability or ability to change, while water sign brings him closer to his emotions. He is not a “perfect copy” without any reason (Midorima agrees)

Looks wise, His mercury ruled moon sign is more dominant than his Jupiter rule Gemini constellation. Mercury men are very youthful looking, have narrow but bright eyes and are very much babied by the people around him: Mercury being the infant planet of the zodiac brings this quality. His moon sign also dictates his career as a model because Jyestha males are prone to go to the entertainment industry. Both Jupiter and Mercury are responsible for learning, knowledge. Kise is known to catch up with basketball in the shortest amount of time, and perhaps this is the reason. These people are also bad at hiding their emotions and are very honest in nature. Both him and Kuroko share Jupiter moon signs, perhaps that is why Kise is very attached to Kuroko.

MIdorima Shintarou (7th July, Cancer sun-Leo Moon, Saturn and South Node Influenced)

We all knew that Midorin was a Cancer, but Leo moon, we did not see it coming. Midorima is a Cancer sun and falls under the Pusya Constellation or the Constellation of Nourisher (eng: γ, δ and θ Cancri ). People born under the constellation are well respected, stable-minded and moral (we all agree on that). The Leo moon falls under the Magha (the blessed) constellation (eng: Regulus). These people are very hard-working, and whatever progress they makes is owing to this attitude of sincerity. Well, no one can disagree on that part also.

Pusya males are saturn ruled and they come with extremely good looks. Saturn beauties have long-ish faces, narrow eyes and a serious look on their face which looks quite attractive especially on males. South Node moon makes a man magnetically handsome and to some extend emotionally distant--he may have hard time figuring and expressing his or other’s emotions. South Nodes also gives people a weird way to speak: be it voice, dialect or accent, and in Midorima’s case it is suffixing everything with “Nanodayo”. Saturn born people are very spiritual as well, they believe in a higher power and often follow it unquestioningly: with Midorima’s case, it’s his Horoscopes. With the saturn influenced sun, he will be disciplined, orderly and somewhat submissive in his nature: figures when he gets scolded or bullied by his seniors (and Takao) he takes it quietly. Guess Midorima knew Oha-Asa wasn’t hoax when he self diagnosed himself.

Aomine Daiki (August 31st, Virgo sun- Leo Moon, Sun and South Node influenced)

I had a hunch that Daiki is Sun influenced the moment I started doing this thing. He is a Virgo sun that falls into a Sun ruled constellation called Uttar Phalguni (The Younger Red One) (eng: Denebola), which is called the best Constellation for leadership and masculinity; Sun attends Youth in this constellation and therefore these people are leaders, egotistic and often harsh speakers. He is a Leo Moon which falls on the Magha or The Constellation of the Blessed (Eng: Regulus). His sun sign sits between the cusp of Leo and Virgo and this brings the fieriness in him. Stereotypical Virgos are portrayed as Nerdy and Neat people, but Virgo behaves like Leo when sun is sitting in Denebola Constellation and it amplifies Virgo’s ambitious nature and Leo’s Ego.

Sun influenced men are very masculine in looking and particularly the constellation under which Daiki is born makes the men hypersexual and lovers of all things erotic. Sun men are also the people who attract a lot of Nodal natives, moon born natives in their lives. Kuroko, who is North Node influenced, was once Aomine’s “shadow”-- a Sun influenced person who was Kuroko’s light. However, here comes his south node moon in play. South Node men are quiet emotionally distant, even from his own friends and loved once: they frequently hurt people with their words and have trouble expressing their feelings. Daiki also has the South Node speech type: he tends to drag the words “in--dayo” whenever he speaks, especially if he is annoyed. They speak often forcefully which may come off as rude, which also contributes to their loneliness. They are the “lone wolves” and people cannot stand them often: Sounds like Aomine? because he is like that.

Murasakibara Atsushi (October 9th Libra sun-Capricorn moon, North Node and Sun influenced)

Anyone with Libra sun hear me out: Sun is said to be at his Weakest in Libra, and that means out Purple Giant has an unfortunate sun position. His Sun Sign falls in Swati Constellation or the Constellation of “Goodness” (Eng: Arcturus), and his moon falls in Uttar Ashada or the Constellation of the Undefeated (Eng: Zeta Sagitarrii) which is a Sun ruled constellation that sits at the Cusp of Sagittarius and Capricorn. Thus Murasakibara is not a stereotypical Libra, he has some grounding qualities in him. Libras are most compatible with Gemini, Aries and Aquarius but Murasakibara’s best friend is Himuro Tatsuya who is a Scorpio. This must be because the Capricorn enters in his chart as his House of Moon, which has medium compatibility with Scorpio.

Any Nodal person mentioned in this post, especially if they are North Node are exceptionally tall in heights and it is said that Nodes, like trees in the deep equatorial forest, grow tall to get the Sun, which makes them so execptionally tall. Murasakibara is very large compared to a Japanese. Although his sun is weakened in the sign of Libra, which snatches all the honour, glory and leadership positions, he strengthens it back in his Capricorn moon which is a Sun ruled Constellation. Although the Constellation is mainly on Sagittarius’ side, but when it enters Capricorn’s side it loses it’s philosophical edge of the Sagittarius house and gets more practical because Capricorn is an earth sign. This moon position gives him those Sun ruled narrow and sharp eyes, deep voice, imposing alpha qualities. People who have sun in Swati tend to be my-pace kind of people: they have their own ways to do things, they hate being criticized and they have fierce angers.

Akashi Seijuro (December 20th, Sagittarius Sun- Aries Moon, Sun and Venus Influenced)

Boy! Here comes one big ball of Ego! I always wondered (when I first saw Akashi) wow, he acts like a Greek God who just got pissed off by a mortal, and turns out he was just born on certain influence. He is a Sagittarius Sun that falls on the Uttar Ashada Constellation or the Constellation of the Undefeated (eng: Zeta Sagittarii), and His Aries Moon falls on Varani constellation or The Constellation of the Bearer (Eng: 35 Arietis). Uttar Ashada is the last sun ruled constellation of the Zodiacs and Varani is the First Venus ruled constellation. As a fire sign he should be getting along with other fire signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, (even airs signs like Gemini and Libra) but he is closest with Midorima, who is a Cancer Sign, and Kuroko who is an Aquarius. All of them have one thing in common: Jupiter. Sagittarius is Jupiter’s domain, Cancer is Jupiter’s favorite house to be, and Kuroko has Scorpio moon in Vishakha Constellation, which is ruled by Jupiter.

Sun ruled males are hands down the alpha males around as i have written before, but dear Akashi’s constellation has an added twist. As Sagittarius is Jupiter Ruled (the eldest of the Zodiac) where Akashi’s sun sign sits, it gives him a sense of older-than-his age dignity. Thus people around him, older or younger, stronger or weaker obey him without contest. People with these placements may be blessed with the Supreme Leadership image, but it also gives them an overly authoritative and egotistic father figures (with which Akashi has had torments). His moon sign which is Venus influenced makes him very unconventionally attractive and in touch with his feminine sides, females or feminine gay men are likely to be attracted to him for this. But all of this politeness are outside features: inside, he is harsh and broken. Venus men are very particular about what women they desire in life, and Sun men are rapid womanizers. However Akashi’s Constellation has no opposite gender consort available in the 27 constellations (26 others are assigned with 13 pairs of male and female animals). So he will have high standards in women, not likely to have steady partners because of this--he may (god forbid) also die a virgin.

Kagami Taiga (August 2nd, Leo sun- Leo Moon, Double South Node Influenced)

Kagami may have Leo sun and Leo moon and we may think--oh, he is full of sun power, but it is not hat simple. He is doubly influenced with South Nodes. South Nodes are responsible for morbidity, detachment, emotional alienation, aloofness etc, but none of them is really seen in Kagami. He shares Leo moon sign with Takao and Midorima, Aomine and on the same constellation: Magha, the constellation of the Blessed (eng: Regulus). At the beginning he seems to be very aggressive and his speeches rub people in the wrong way which is a typical South Node influence that come with his Sun and Moon sign. But later we see that he has a huge gap between appearance and reality.

Magha people usually come from wealth, but due to Kagami’s sun sign falls in a nodal constellation he faces detachment from his father figure. Nodal people usually have wide and doe like eyes, but as Kagami’s Sun and Moon sign sits on a Sun ruled House of Leo, his South nodes mimic the looks of a typical Sun dominant man: narrow eyes, alpha male qualities, deep voice and great leadership skills. Their speech tends to be loud, forceful and may seem harsh and rude, but it’s far from it. It is to be noted. Kagami’s voice also have the typical South node eccentricity, he ends his speeches with “desu” in polite conversations, even when it is not necessary. South Node is the headless tail of dragon and when sun comes to it, it takes the sun as it’s missing head and magnifies the qualities of the Sun. Kagami is so beautifully written that he is not a typical rugged charmed beauty: there is more to him in the bottom than we can see. South nodes enables a person to reach the higher truth, if they are placed in a good sign--remember how Kagami opened the Direct drive Zone? it was really like discovering the unconscious mind.

Takao Kazunari (November 21st, Scorpio Sun-Leo Moon: Mercury and South Node influenced)

Charming, playful, good looking, Takao Kazunari is Scorpio Sun and a Leo Moon. Surprised? I was too--our Takao influenced by Leo? but that’s what he is completely opposite inside and out. He Mercury influenced Jyestha Constellation Sun or the Constellation of the Eldest (Eng: Alpha Scorpionis) and South Node influenced Magha Constellation or The Blessed Constellation moon (Eng: Regulus). The Mercury influenced Sun sign makes him swift and outspoken in nature; these people can be so quick thinkers that it makes them almost unpredictable.

South Node influenced men have light eyes, great looks and magnetic personality, while the Mercury influence gives them youthfulness, lightheartedness and great intelligence. they may have forceful speech or a weird accent: Takao adds a “-ssho” at the end of his sentence, despite he laughs at Midorima’s “Nanodayo suffix”. They don’t take life or themselves too seriously but can hold grudge for a long time. South Node men are prone to be ‘draining’ emotionally, but that aspect of Takao is not revealed. He and Midorima shares the same moon sign, The Leo Magha Moon, which makes them so different and so uncanny to be friends together. HIs Moon constellation, Magha makes him sort of selfless and detached at the same time. I always wondered why Takao wheels Midorima around and doesn’t get mad? because he is generous in a very selfless way.

Hyuuga Junpei (May 16th, Taurus Sun- Taurus Moon: Mars and Sun influenced)

Hyuuga is Taurus sun and Taurus moon respectively. Hyuuga’s sun fall in Mrigshira Constellation or Deer Head Constellation (Eng: Lambda Orionis), which is the third Taurus constellation and it sits between Taurus and Gemini. His moon falls in Krittika constellation or Axe Constellation (Eng: Eta Tauri or Pleiades) which sits between Aries and Taurus. Sun influenced males depict a lot of alpha male qualities that attract both males and females (remember Reo Mibuchi) But Mars males usually are short tempered and express their anger in a funny way. Hyuuga is acknowledged by all as a captain but he struggles with his temper and his position, several times, perhaps due to these position. Looks wise Sun influenced males are very attractive in their own way, they usually have large forehead, sharp and narrow eyes and husky voice.

Sterotypically Taurus people cannot stand any other signs than specific earth and water signs, but this combination brings a taurian very well in terms with fire and air signs, especially with Leos, Geminis and Aquariuses. Aquarius people become very special in these types of taurians because they keep coming into Taurus’ throughout their lives: even though they are completely opposites. Hyuuga’s romantic interest is Riko, an aquarius. Taurus and Gemini are said to be in bad terms, but due to this combination of constellations, Hyuuga is in good terms with Kiyoshi. His Moon sign that falls in Krittika Constellation is symbolised by Axe (and any kind of blades in general) so, these natives are usually good with jobs that requires cutting: Hyuuga cuts hair nicely, don’t you think? Cutting also means cutting remarks--his Tsukkomis bite

Kiyoshi Teppei (June 10th, Gemini sun-Aries Moon: North and South Node influenced)

No wonder Kiyoshi is the way he is. I always thought he is not a typical Gemini, there is a hidden aspect to him. South and North nodes of the moon are nodal planets and they love being around Sun influenced people (Hyuuga). Kiyoshi is an Aries Moon that falls on Aswini or Horse Head Constellation (eng: Beta Arietis), and he is a Gemini Sun that falls on the Ardra or Wet Wind Constellation (Eng: Betelgeuse) If You want a stable, cool-headed, life of the party, salt of the earth kind of person, go for Kiyoshi or the combination of his Sun and Moon placement.

The males born with the Moon in Ashwini Nakshatra will almost always have a handsome face, and bright and big eyes (South Node, trying to absorb light through big doe eyes). His forehead will be broad and his nose will tend to be on the bigger side. He will be grateful to those who love him and will go to any extents to do anything for them. He is the best friend you can have when you need one desperately. Ardra people have the special power to persevere, communicate and be gentle and soft spoken at the same time. The natives are soft, stable, strong, sacrifice a lot to earn, and may be prone to sickness--the last can connote with Kiyoshi’s knee injury. North Node people tend to be ambitious in nature and they will to any lengths to fulfill it, Nodal people tend to have wide and often doe like eyes, dry but sophisticated sense of humour and they love to be around Sun influenced people. That is why, despite being completely opposites, Kiyoshi and Hyuuga are in good terms.

Riko Aida (February 5th, Aquarius sun and Leo Moon: Venus and North Node influenced)

Riko is Aquarius sun and Leo moon. NO wonder she exercises great leadership skills. Her Aquarius sun falls in Satavisha constellation or the constellation of 100 physicians and her Leo Moon falls in Purva Phalguni constellation or the Elder Red constellation. The North Node ruled sun constellation gives her harsh, strict, healing and truthful nature while the Venus ruled Moon constellation gives her charming outlook: she is soft on the outside, hard on the inside kind of girl. She used to have relationship with Kiyoshi at the beginning, and I wondered why, and then I discovered: Kiyoshi’s moon’ s constellation Ashwini is symbolised with a Male Horse and Riko’s Sun’s constellation Shatabhisha is symbolised with a Female Horse. The stars truly came together with these two.

The Purvaphalguni women are instructive and very good teachers and mentors: Riko is a coach and is very good at her job. Because her moon sign in ruled by Venus, she attracts a Taurian Hyuuga, whose Zodiac Sign Taurus is general is ruled by Venus. Nodal women have wide set and usually lighter eyes (according to the race) and Venus gives them an overall charming beauty (because Venus is the Goddess of Beauty). But along with it comes vanity as well: venus is extremely proud of her looks and will not stand any other’s presence who is more good looking than her. Perhaps that’s why she is quite jealous of Momoi.

She may be looking for Sonia Nevermind, the Ultimate Princess, or Gundham Tanaka, the Ultimate Breeder. They're both into dark occult stuff. They're also in the same class as Chiaki and Ryota. I think they're pretty close friends, so if you find one you'll probably find the other not far off.

"Princess!?" Hiro repeats, his eyes widening. "There's a princess at this school!?"

"As amazingly cool as that is-" Leon says, trying to bring them back on topic. "-this Gundham dude....Why would a...breeder know about occult bullshit?"

"The same reason a princess would?" Hiro mutters under his breath.

Chihiro furrows his brow in thought, the small boy looking very worried. "W-well, Mukuro did say it had nothing to do with his talent." He reminds them. "So perhaps it's a hobby of his?"

"Well, regardless, this is all we have to go on, and you guys havent been wrong yet!" Leon says determinedly, flashing the spirits a grin. "Since Mukuro specifically said 'he', we should check up on this Gundham weirdo first. So hurry the hell up, Hiro! Look up this Gundham guy!"

The clairvoyant nods and does as he was told, looking up a picture of Gundham Tanaka. When he finds one he stares at it in surprise. "This...this guy works with animals?" He asks, stunned.

Leon looks over his friend's shoulder and raises a brow. "Damn. Yeah, he looks more like an Ultimate Clairvoyant than you do! He obviously seems to be embracing the occult for a start!"

This earns the ghost a glare, but Hiro quickly shakes his head and returns his phone to his pocket. "Well, whatever. We know what he looks like, so let's go to his dorm."

As he begins making his way there, Chihiro frowns. "You know, the fact that Mukuro knows about this Gundham means she and Junko must have been studying him, or at the very least his class." He points out. "Which would make sense considering how much of her plan revolves around 77-B." His face saddens. "Poor guys. It's bad enough Junko put us, her classmates and friends through something like a killing game, but to basically torture a whole other class?"

"Its sick." Leon agrees, his eyes narrowed angrily. "She's sick."

Hiro simply nods in response, a frown on his face as he walks. Suddenly, he freezes in place. "Wait, what about Hajime?!" He asks. "I was supposed to meet up with him and-"

"That can wait a minute!" Leon interrupts him. "If we dont hurry and stop Mukuro, who the hell knows what could happen!"

Hiro nods in understanding, breaking out into a sprint towards the dorms, causing a brown haired boy in a Reserve Course uniform to look up and give him an annoyed look as he passed.

Hiro was thankfully able to find Gundham's room with relative ease. As he stands in front of the Ultimate Breeder's door, he hesitates.

"Dude, what's the hold up?" Leon asks impatiently.

Hiro frowns and begins picking at his skin. "Its just...the energy surrounding this room...its...really heavy and...dark..." He mutters.

Leon groans and rolls his eyes. "Oh for the love of-Hurry the hell up!" He snaps.

Hiro sighs and nods, reaching a hand up and knocking on the door.

A quiet exchange of voices could be heard along with some shuffling until the door is opened.

"Who dares disturb the Overlord of-"

The boy behind the door stops when he sees Hiro. The two lock eyes, and a wave of energy courses through the clairvoyant.

The extravagantly dressed man before Hiro stares at him for a moment more before he smirks. "Heh. I had thought the dark lady and myself were the only ones dabbling in the forbidden arts, but I can sense they run through your veins as well."

Hiro blinks in surprise at the guy's strange speech patterns. "Uh...i-if by 'forbidden arts' you mean fortune telling, then yeah!" Hiro finally responds, forcing a smile onto his face. "My names Yasuhiro Hagakure. I'm the Ultimate Clairvoyant!"

The other man lets out an impressed hum. "Clairvoncy, hm? Then have your visions sent you to my side for the aid of my dark powers?!" He suddenly poses in a strange way, and Hiro blinks in confusion.

"Uh...y-yeah. More or less. Youre... Gundham Tanaka, right?" He asks, scratching his head as he begins to regret coming here.

Gundham's smirk widens as he nods. "My reputation of course precedes me. Indeed, that is my name! GUNDHAM TANAKA!" The...eccentric fellow bellows out his name, cause Chihiro to flinch slightly.

Leon rolls his eyes. "Dear Lord this guy is gonna be annoying." He mutters.

Hiro gives a subtle nod in agreement before forcing the smile onto his face again. "Well, great! Do you, uh, mind if I come in, Gundham?'

Gundham shakes his head and steps to the side. "But of course not! A fellow user of the dark arts is always welcome in my abode!" He declares. "Although my Third Eye has failed me, for I did not forsee your visit." The breeder suddenly blushes, catching Hiro even more off guard as the man attempts to hide the flush by raising his scarf over his face. "I currently have...company over. The dark princess, Sonia Nevermind. But do not fear! I am training her to be my apprentice, so you need not hold your tongue with anything you must tell me!" He declares with finality as he turns with a flourish and walks into his room.

Hiro stands still for a moment longer, sharing an unsure look with Leon and Chihiro, before following the breeder into his room and closing the door behind him.

The dark atmosphere Hiro had felt from outside the door was tripled the moment he took a step inside, and he shivered. Gundham's room was dark, light blotting curtains hung at the windows that allowed the only light inside the room to be the many lit candles that were scattered around. There was a bookcase against one of the walls, and on it several heavy looking leather cased books.

"Well I guess we found the right guy." Leon mutters.

Hiro nods in agreement as he continues scanning the environment. His gaze stops at something that seemed out of place. A brightly colored hamster cage where four happy looking hamster were currently rested inside.

"Well, he is the Ultimate Breeder." Hiro thinks to himself. "I guess it would be more weird if there wasnt anything animal related here."

"Oh, Gundham! You have company!" A sweet, feminine voice speaks up, causing Yasuhiro to turn his head in its direction. He couldnt help but stare. There was a beautiful blonde girl, sat upon Gundham's bed.

"Indeed I do, dark mistress." Gundham confirms, coming to a stop in front of the hamster cage. He opens the lid and places some treats inside, the four critters skittering over to them and eating them hungrily. "He says his name is Yasuhiro." A grin spreads on his face as he turns from his four pets. "He is also a user of the arts."

The girl, who Hiro assumes to be Sonia Nevermind, gasps and clasps her hands together excitedly. "Really?!" She exclaims happily. "There is another one at the school?!"

"It indeed seems that way, Sonia." The breeder confirms, his gaze going to Hiro. "He says he is a clairvoyant, and that he received a vision that called him to me."

Sonia gasps and looks to Hiro as well. "Is that so? Then please! I insist you inform us of the details of your vision at once!"

For some reason Hiro felt extremely compelled to bow towards the upperclasswoman and the need to hurry with the explanation. He blinks and clears his throat, attempting to calm his nerves. "R-right. Well, it's a long...and, well, pretty unbelievable story if I'm being honest." He sighs before continuing. "But I swear to you, Buddha, Gandhi, Mother Earth or whatever deity you believe in its true.

It started when my classmate Junko Enoshima came to me, asking me to read her future...."

"...and then Mukuro mentioned someone else with knowledge of...occult stuff." Hiro finishes explaining, holding back the urge to explain his distaste for the occult. "And the spirits mentioned it could be one of you two." He looks between Sonia and Gundham, both of which look extremely surprised. "And since Mukuro said 'he' we went to your room first." He chuckles and rubs the back of his neck. "So...yeah. We wanted to make sure Mukuro's ghost...future ghost...didnt come here and find something she could use."

Gundham stares at the clairvoyant for a while, seemingly at a loss for words. Finally he clears his throat. "Well...that certainly is...quite the ordeal." The breeder recovers quickly, a grin forming on his face as he poses. "However you are in luck! I am quite skilled in this department, and while I cannot see your apparitions-" He walks over to his bookshelf and shifts through the many books before letting out a soft 'ah ha!' and pulling out a rather large one. He flips through it before placing his finger on a page. He then begins muttering something, which causes Hiro to frown and shift uncomfortably.

Gundham's eyes close, and a soft wind suddenly blows through the room, despite there being no open window. When he opens his eyes, he meets Hiro's eyes. They then shift over to Leon and Chihiro, his grin turning to a smirk.

"Ah ha! Hello there, fiends!" He looks over to see the shimmering outlines of the unknown spirits. "And to you as well."

Hiro's eyes widen in surprise. "You...you can see them?!"

"Of course!" Gundham boasts, slamming the book shut with one hand. "Did you believe these tombs were for show?!"

Hiro holds his tongue.

"Now I can be of more help to you and your miss-" He stops, his gaze slowly moving over to his bookshelf. He narrows his eyes. "....I assume this is the fiendish ghoul you mentioned."

Hiro blinks before following his gaze. His eyes widen further. There, looking through the books, was Mukuro's ghost.

Gundham Tanaka can now hear you! He is open for questions!

To all you Final Fantasy fans, I recommend giving the Devil May Cry Series a try.

I'm not saying this based on a story perspective, but gameplay perspective. We have knowledge that Ryota Suzuki, a designer for Devil May Cry 5, was hired by Square Enix back in June.

With the recent trailer for Final Fantasy XVI released, we got gameplay footage with it. Let me tell you, it looks like we're getting a very action, combat-heavy Final Fantasy game, probably combining sword attacks with Black Magic and Summon body parts, all melding together to form combos against our enemies.

Personally I'm looking forward to this style of combat, but I'm not sure if the development team is going to incorporate multiple party members each battle, or if it'll be us playing Clive with a bit of NPC assistance. But to be blunt, get ready for quite a different gameplay experience.

Maybe we'll get to fight enemies in Smokin' Sexy Style while Clive is the storm that is approaching, provoking black clouds in isolation.

Also, be prepared to press R1 + O, like, a lot.

2019 Unofficial Event Survey Results

I was inspired to conduct this survey after I looked at some surveys held in other fandoms/interest groups in the past. This survey included all the events that had been translated from Dec 2018 to Dec 2019. You can view an archive of the questions here.

As a complete nobody with no marketing skills who appeared to be conducting this kind of survey for the first time I was pleasantly surprised to see this many responses from a rather small community.

I don’t quite have the knowledge to analyze these results on a holistic scale and I don’t believe I have a large enough sample size to say anything about the community as a whole, so this report will just be my own personal reflections on conducting the survey, and my observations of the sample group as it is.

If you have any questions or comments about the survey, the ask box is always open. I’m also open to suggestions for future surveys because I want to ask better questions that let me see trends of what people like in this game.

“Prefer not to say” answers were included in the transgender/orientation questions and were counted out. Some also wrote in “Prefer not to say” answers in the country question.

I believe I found it fairly difficult to share my survey because I was a nobody so the response pool was very US-centric.

I was initially surprised by the high references from Reddit (where it was shared in /r/TokyoAfterschool/) before I realized that people who are interested in reading longer content in a place like Reddit may also be interested in taking surveys (I can’t prove this but the possibility is there) After all, the surveys I took inspiration from were also found on Reddit.

The number of people who heard of this game before Mar 2018 surprised me a bit. The only time Lifewonders had interacted with the English community before then was in 2015, long before Housamo had even started on Dec 2016. That being said, there is a trend of more people starting to play the game after translations started (76 / 34.7% after Mar 2018, 87 / 39.7% in 2019 or later)

I had expected the English survey to be English-centric, but in the future I hope to get help in translating future surveys to other languages.

I had put in the protagonist question because I thought it would be interesting to see who people played as, but seeing as the question was made optional and I don’t think I can make any meaningful conclusions out of the responses beyond that, I don’t plan to include this question in future surveys.

5.0% total votes / 3.1% weighted points (Gift from an Apprentice Santa)

2.3% total votes / 1.5% weighted points (Lil’ Salomon’s Golden Week)

Respondents were also asked to choose what they liked most about the events they voted for, and the majority chose between Story & Characters. For Black Snow on the Hot Spring Mountains & Raiders of the Lost Isle, Story was the most picked answer. For the other events, Characters was most picked.

The most notable trend here is the popularity of Valentine Panic in the younger age groups. I suppose it was possible it could’ve beaten Raiders of the Lost Isle had it also been popular with the older age groups.

Other things to note include how high Year of the Guardian Dog placed in the under 18 group and how high Black Snow on the Hot Spring Mountains placed in the 30+ group.

This section of the survey was completely optional. Excluding Lil’ Salomon’s Golden Week and Year of the Guardian Dog, the average response rate was 79.3% (1st favorite) and 68.3% (2nd favorite)

I received feedback that the survey became lengthy by asking for two favorite characters per event. This was supported by the response rate dropping in later events, so future surveys will only ask for one favorite character.

Respondents also answered what they liked about the character they chose from their Appearance, Personality, how they were written/Developed, and their Interactions with other characters. I will be noting which aspects scored the highest on the top 3 chosen characters from each event.

[Translation] Tsukihana Kagura - Stage Play Plot

Ryota and I have been talking about it both here and on twitter, so you already know we were working (or more like cracking our brains) on this.

Let me say this first, the entire team (Ryota and Chrome) agreed this is more Chinese than Japanese and you can’t change our minds ヽ(＿　＿ヽ) // the kanji, the horror. Kudos to those two for suffering with me (aka assisting me and helping out with the proofreading).

Paying no mind to the sounds of this fleeting world, the King of Flowers threads the dance of Tsukihana Kagura.

A [song]. Yet not a [song].

A [dance]. Yet not a [dance].

Even without the honors from the so-called [King of Flowers], a celebration where the [flowers] dance, the “Tsukihana Festival”, shall begin!

―—— Not here, somewhere apart from this world.

There lie twelve island countries, floating above the ocean in a flower-like shape. Once every few years, in each of these countries, those who live in grace and are referred to as [flowers], shall compete not with their swords, but with their beauty.

World View

■ The World

This world consists of 13 countries floating above the ocean.

Lying in the centre of the world is a large island called “Mushiki”. Islands of about the same size surround Mushiki radially, as if they were a flower blooming over a large desert. The appearance likewise makes the residents refer to themselves and these countries as “flowers”.

■ The History of the World

① Prehistoric Era

There was a time when the 13 islands were joined by land, forming one continent.

In the centre of the continent rested a massive volcano named Kataku, which converged the entire volcanic activity from the area and actively erupted on countless occasions.

As a result, the ground around the base of the volcano is thought to have expanded, eventually becoming large enough to be called a continent.

This vast land expanded radially along the mountain range until it divided together with some neighbouring areas and developed their own individual ecosystems.

Somewhere in the northern part of the continent, humanity ended up planting its roots.

Following their migration towards the south, their area of activity broadened and it seemed soon the entire continent became inhabited.

② Antiquity (First Half)

❶ [The First Blooming] - Before and After (approximately 600 000~10 000 years ago)

The large-scale seismic shift which occurred due to a tectonic plate rift and also caused the radial fragmentation of the continent, then provoked a massive eruption from the Kataku Volcano. This was later named ‘The First Blooming’.

The tremendous force of the eruption gave birth to an enormous caldera in the centre of the continent (later becoming the inland sea). Subsequently, the plate rifts and the caldera led to the separation of the continent into different areas.

Scattered in various regions and unable to come in contact with each other, mankind gave up on further exchanges from that point on and all areas followed their own evolution and development.

❷ Kurobana Period (approximately 10 000~4000 years ago)

The period of time when the Kataku Volcano and its volcanic chain became dormant.

As the climate and the environment regained their stability, humanity once again started to practice exchanges between regions. When mankind proceeded to share the knowledge and techniques they developed in separation, their cultural level instantly improved.

The construction of large cities brought along a drastic increase in population numbers, and soon countries were born in every zone.

‘Shikkoku’ and ‘Geppaku’, the oldest existing countries, are said to have been born around this time.

❸ Shirohana Period (approximately 4000~1300 years ago)

Around this time, almost the entire continent had a cultural living secured. Moreover, disciplines like academics and arts were flourishing.

The exchanges between the nations became more and more popular, but at the same time, attracted conflicts and clashes due to differences in values and ideologies.

❹ Akahana Period (approximately 1300~1000 years ago)

Starting with the small conflicts between fellow small countries and continuing with the head-on collisions of the major nations, this time period brought on the first large-scale war in history.

In a world where a diverse set of values and ideologies exist, fires that have started cannot be quenched easily. Furthermore, advancements in technology and the invention of gunpowder and explosives supported those ideologies. Under the principles of each island’s doctrine, they were to send out one great candidate to determine who will be the Great Ruler of all nations in order to unify the continent. The remaining islands would stand together with the champion of the world.

As war or disputes would always occur somewhere, the public order domain had suffered the most throughout the world.

A lot of blood was shed even outside the battlefield.

From that point on, the entire continent was thrown into chaos for around 300 years, a period known as the dark age.

❺ [The Second Blooming] - Before and After (approximately 1000 years ago)

The chaos installed by the dark age came forcefully to an end as another seismic shift hit the continent and the Kataku Volcano released another violent eruption (known as ‘The Second Blooming’).

The valley created around the volcano by the rift expanded even further and was flooded by seawater, separating the 13 islands completely.

③ Antiquity (Second Half)

❶ [The Second Blooming] - Before and After (approximately 1000 years ago)

The unexpected calamity that divided the 13 islands completely should have eliminated all life, including humanity.

However, even though humans resorted to quite a substantial number of sacrifices, they tried to make it through the crisis with their own power, too.

Countries that foresaw the large-scale eruption tried to minimize casualties and joined hands.

Anticipating what could happen in the future, people made physical walls using special techniques, analysed scientific data, geology, etc…...

The countries that opted to join forces and brought pieces of their own wisdom managed to survive The Second Blooming, becoming the twelve countries that exist in the present.

❷ Tsukihana Period (approximately 1000 years ago~present)

Because of the previous calamities, much knowledge and craft skills were lost. Humanity’s history continued. However, compared to the Second Blooming, the loss of civilization development was significantly less. (It has been said that roughly 1000 years of cultural advancement had been undone.)

In relation to this, engineering and techniques that were often used by the military were strictly governed by the National Institution in order to avoid a repeat of the Akahana Period’s tragedy. It seemed as though they purposely abdicated themselves as well. ※ Studies call these techniques and knowledge that were lost and could not be reproduced again as Pre-Blooming Techniques or “Budding Techniques”.

The 12 nations wrote the following joint declaration:

① War must be abandoned once and for all in order to ensure permanent peace. ② The path to mutual understanding, mutual support, and mutual growth shall be paved through dialogue and not through military power.

“The bloodshed is over. We narrow our eyes as we look to the sun, and when the moon glimmers above our heads in this very sky, we shall bloom into dignified flowers.” (The final paragraph of the joint declaration)

Four years have passed since this declaration was signed.

The first Tsukihana Festival is about to start.

■ The Current Circumstances of the World

■ A World of Harmony ■

In the next 100 years following The Second Blooming, the twelve nations’ miraculous efforts to protect the joint declaration managed to keep any dispute or confrontation on a low scale.

All the countries dropped their weapons in favour of a peaceful world.

■ The Council of the Twelve Nations ■

① As border crossing was still a major problem, the nations have decided to resolve rising conflicts by means of thorough discussions and assembled the highest ranking decision-making body known as the “The Council of the Twelve Nations”.

② The Council of the Twelve Nations is hosted by an appointed country for only four years, and it cannot be elected successively. If a country doesn’t become a host for more than 20 years, the following year it is automatically appointed.

③ The hosting nation’s leader will be dispatched to the official residence for hosts located in Mushiki. In order to avoid any emergencies, the commander of the Allied Forces is also dispatched together with them.

④ The nations have adopted a “rule by majority” policy and should there be a case where the votes are tied 6 to 6, the Council will adapt the plan suggested by the host country.

■ Deciding the Host Country for the Tsukihana Festival ■

The Chairman of the Twelve Nations Council is one who holds tremendous political power. In order to avoid military conflict, the Chairman is elected through the Tsukihana Festival wherein the nations battle in the fine arts of kagura.

This originates from the legend about a person who danced the Kagura and calmed the volcano during the Second Blooming.

Although the idea of fighting with “beauty” instead of “strength” has a strong political connotation for the common people, it also offers a strong sense of recreation for them. It is evidence of how peaceful the world actually is.

Each Country’s Circumstances

Shikkoku

● Among the twelve nations, this country has the longest history and the strongest military force.

● Even though the Allied Forces of the Twelve Nations Council is under their direct control, they take a defensive stance.

● Warriors originating from Shikkoku are known for journeying throughout the world and doing good deeds, which earned them a high respect.

● National Trait ●

Daring and resolute / Imperturbable

Momo

● Once focusing on the development of dyeing and making fabrics for clothes, this country has as many family crafting skills as it has craftsmen.

● They also have a wholesale district dedicated solely to preparing garments or props for the Kagura. During the time of the Tsukihana Festival, it’s crowded with people.

● Their specialty is ‘tsukimi udon’

● Local Colour ●

Repayment for indebtedness / Gentle and sincere

Akane

● A country prominent not only for their large number of mining sites, but also for their industrial skills.

● They invented gunpowder and explosives. This knowledge is kept under strict control, and thus only state agencies are allowed to learn about it.

● One of their specialties is the Akane Festival, a festival where they dance for 3 days and 3 nights continuously.

● Local Colour ●

Sticking to their original intentions / Intense passion

Kikyo

● This mysterious yet profound country is well versed in foreseeing the future and reading the stars.

● They only choose to settle when they find the place they want to reside in for life. They are people who hold a peculiar sense of values. Many of its residents choose to travel.

● Their territory is surrounded by fog.

● One of their special products is the ‘Shingon Rice Cake’.

● Local Colour ●

Wayfaring people who go on pilgrimages / Belief in destiny

Asahanada

● This country has a deep connection to water. They are a religious nation and believe the dragon god to be a symbol of nature. Many of them are gentle spirits.

● They are among the leaders in the rice production field, which is considered a staple food in this world.

● Their specialty is ‘kudukiri’. You don’t even feel it going down your throat.

● Local Colour ●

Clean and serene like still water / Unrelenting

Tsuyukusa

● This nation is well versed in astronomy and geology. They possess an enormous national library filled with data they collected in the past.

● They have many hot springs, which attract a large number of people.

● Their specialty is ‘Napoli-san’, tomato-flavored noodles.

● National Trait ●

Mature consideration / Healthy food for healthy bodies

Geppaku

● Out of all twelve nations, this mysterious country has a history as long as Shikkoku’s.

● Their strange skills can cause miracles and seem to be passed down within each household.

● Each of them has a peculiar view on life and religion, being required to find and serve their own god.

● National Trait ●

Enjoying life to the fullest / Peaceful life without worry

Kikuchinashi

● This country has the biggest theatre in the world and a national school dedicated to the study of plays.

● Because many of them also work as carpenters and architects, they can easily make a living by working for the Tsukihana Festival’s stage.

● Their specialty is a ‘musical play’ that brings together dancing, singing, and drama.

● National Trait ●

Unyielding diligence in studies / Undying patience

Seiran

● An academic city that has many schools specializing in various fields. People gather here to seek knowledge.

● Their national school has sub-branches in all 12 countries. It is also said that Seiran is the best place where one could learn about the twelve nations.

● They are experts in making a large variety of ‘bentos’.

● Local Colour ●

There’s a blue sky right behind the clouds / Sincerity that could move heaven

Botan

● This country has an entire district dedicated to entertainment, managing to gather all types of people. Any type of amusement can be provided.

● The real attractions for sight-seeing are after dark. There are vigilante corps around to keep people safe.

● Their specialty is the ‘adzuki bean mochi’.

● Local Colour ●

Unfettered and flexible / Trusting to chance

Asagi

● This country is a major agricultural power, strangely possessing the most fertile soils in all the world.

● It is said that the current kagura was inspired by the dance they perform here to celebrate the harvest.

● Local Colour ●

Everything is bound to change・Being thankful for every single uttered word

Mokuran

● A mysterious country covered by desert. They possess a certain “skill” that is a trade secret.

● The capital city is the world’s largest gambling house and is a source of income that enriches the national treasury.

● Their specialties are “suna tamago” which are made by boiling eggs in hot sand.

● Local Colour ●

Consulting the past to learn about the future / Independent spirits who stand on their own

Tsukihana Festival

■ About the Tsukihana Festival ① The Significance Behind the Tsukihana Festival

As mentioned before, despite the political implications behind the selection of the country that will host the Tsukihana Festival, it is generally a major recreational event that surpasses even the national framework. (Reference: ‘Deciding the Host Country for the Tsukihana Festival’ from ‘World View’, page 8)

After the hosting country is decided, the chairman (king) of the twelve nations (flowers) is named ‘King of Flowers’.

② Summary

A brief summary of the Tsukihana Festival is presented below.

■ It is held on a special site located in the centre of the world, on the Mushiki Island every four years.

■ In addition to the "Hana Awase" that determines the greatest "King of Flowers", there will also be a collection of (see below): theater programs, amusements, performances, and exhibits from each nation. People from all across the continent come, items are gathered, and money is collected.

A part of the profit earned from the festival goes to the Council of the Twelve Nations.

■ The festival and the Hana Awase gets broadcast in real-time using combined technologies from Mokuran and Geppaku.

■ Hana Awase

The representatives for each country will dance a kagura performance that incorporates their nation’s techniques, music, and expressions. They compete against each other with these concepts of “beauty.”

The dancers who participate as the representatives for their nations (flowers), are hence called “Flower Dancers”. This was born under the concept of: “Kagura dancers are not people but are flowers when they dance.” As such, the dancers refer to themselves with a “flower name” for the performance.

Because the nation’s dignity is at stake, it has since been a great honor for someone to be chosen as a “Flower Dancer.”

❶ The Process of Selecting Flower Dancers

Since each nation is essentially able to decide freely, the standards and methods for choosing vary from one nation to the other.

In general, public announcements are made and the participants are decided through domestic screening. In addition, there are nations where a certain family carries the tradition generationally, nations who determine dancers via fortune-telling, nations that choose from the vocational schools that train dancers, and so on.

❷ Requirements for Becoming a Flower Dancer

Some nations have a very detailed list of requirements, but the most common ones for the Twelve Nations are:

More than three generations of their family must have been a part of the country.

They should be physically and mentally healthy.

Once the Dancer has become the King of Flowers, it is impossible for them to be re-elected.

There are very simple rules that should be followed regardless of age or gender.

Essentially, as long as they haven’t become the King of Flowers yet, they can be participants for as many times as they want (though, they may be restricted accordingly due to their own nation’s policies).

For this reason, it is not rare to hear of people who have dedicated most of their life to the Hana Awase.

❸ Rules Regarding the Dances for the Hana Awase

Failure to comply with the rules will result in disqualification.

The time allotted is 10 minutes.

Props and other such tools can be brought and used, but things larger than the dancer or things that can move sporadically (like machines, skills, any form of magic) are not allowed.

Do not look down on, attack, or criticize another dancer or another participating nation.

Costumes, choreography, music, and other such expressions that are sexual, violent, or abusive in nature, as well as any conduct that violates public order and morals are strictly not allowed.

Each nation should have a total of 10 dancers participating.

Tsukihana Kagura

■ About Tsukihana Kagura ❶ The dances performed at the Tsukihana Festival, especially for Hana Awase, are referred to as “Tsukihana Kagura.”

❷ Although the dance is called ‘Kagura’, it is not necessarily dedicated to a “god.” Since this is a world where a wide variety of ideologies and religious views co-exist, there are various perceptions of “god”. In addition, there are also those who are non-believers. Therefore, the “Tsukihana Kagura” is not dedicated to a specific “god” but rather, a dance for personal beliefs. It is dedicated to praying for each nation’s permanent peace and well-being.

❸ In a world where “beauty” is used instead of mere “strength,” performing arts like dancing are highly regarded as a symbol of “beauty.” Courtship, farewell, joy, sorrow. There are various songs and dances for all of these instances.

Kataku (花托) means 'torus' or 'receptacle' and it's (botany) the thickened part of a stem from which the flower organs grow. Look up some flower diagrams and you'll it looks a bit like the volcano sketch.

Literally translated, tsukimi udon (月見うどん) means 'moon viewing udon'

Kudukiri (葛きり) is 'kudzu starch noodles'

Hana Awase (花あわせ) can be translated 'Flower(s) Gathering'

Kagura (神楽) is a bit more tricky. 神 means 'god' and 楽 means 'music/comfort', so basically something like 'god entertainment'. You could think of it as ancient Shinto music and dancing I suppose.

Chiaki, Sonia, Mikan, Hiyoko, Mahiru and Peko with an S/O who is the ultimate vs debater.

So these imagines basically centre around S/O being the ultimate vs debater and making content online similar to ‘death battle’, a really good show on youtube.

I had actually never watched death battle before this, so I watched a few episodes to get a feel for the show and oh my lord, anon you have me hooked. I’m a pretty shy girl, but in my religion & ethics classes, we did debate a lot and it’s really fun and I actually had the courage to participate in them!

Mod Chihiro, craving strawberry ice cream.

Chiaki:

Chiaki adored the way you expressed your ultimate talent, making videos pitting two characters together really caught her attention, especially when she got to watch them!

She was always suggesting different video game characters for you to research and liked offering her own opinions every now and again.

At one point, Chiaki had even got in contact with the ultimate animator to help you with creating the animations. She didn’t want you getting too fatigued from overworking yourself.

Sometimes you’ll both disagree on who should win a fight and that’d result in a heated debate. Who knew Chiaki would get so passionate when it came to defending her favourite video game characters?

Since you were the ultimate vs debater, you’d always prevail, and the debate would end with you both laughing, glad to have spent some more time together.

Sonia:

As the ultimate princess, Sonia had lots of things going on in her life, but she always managed to make time to spend with you.

You’d often be working on a new project, but that was no problem for Sonia. She actually enjoyed watching you work. Honestly, she found that observing you whilst you worked was quite relaxing.

You’d occasionally take breaks and chat with Sonia about the characters you were researching, and she’d normally take a big interest in any characters with supernatural abilities.

Sometimes you’d both get so deep into a conversation that you’d lose track of the time and end up spending a few hours with her.

She’d watch all of your videos whenever she got a chance, normally whilst you were both curled up on the couch together.

Mikan:

She liked to help you with your work, she didn't want you to overwork yourself.

Mikan would often give you information on types of injuries that could be received in a fight, and what they would do to the characters state.

If you ever found yourself lost in your work, Mikan would gently remind you to take breaks every now and again.

Occasionally, you'd be reluctant to leave your work, determined to get it done. However, Mikan would quickly start listing off all of the health risks stemming from overworking yourself.

"S/O, I don't want you to get ill..."

Despite being the ultimate vs debater, you couldn't argue with her medical knowledge, and you didn't want her to worry about you.

You'd spend the rest of your day relaxing with Mikan, glad to have such a caring girlfriend.

Hiyoko:

Hiyoko would normally try to persuade you into putting down your work and spending time with her.

You actually spent most of your time with the small girl, only working when required, since she gets quite clingy at some points. It's cute though!

When she found out that you had hired an animator to work for you, she grew jealous.

She would not let Ryota steal her dear S/O!

Whenever you facetimed the ultimate animator to talk about a new project, Hiyoko sometimes walked by and made a few rude gestures at him.

In secret, she'd watch all of the videos you produced, and she thoroughly enjoyed them all. You were so smart and she was glad to have someone like you with her.

Mahiru:

Mahiru supports everything you do, and that's why she watches every video you produce almost religiously.

She's glad that such a wonderful person like yourself has found something you can immerse yourself in and love.

If she felt you were neglecting your health, she'd take the time to get you a healthy meal and a glass of water.

"A healthy balance between your work and your personal life is important S/O. I don't want you to overwork yourself."

In the rare case that you were out of ideas, you'd take the rest of the day to relax and spend time with Mahiru!

She liked to take you outside for some fresh air. In that time she'd also take some beautiful pictures of the surroundings and sometimes even you!

Peko:

Peko was amazing to have around, she'd always be willing to help you with your projects.

Her combat knowledge was extremely accurate, and she'd always correct you on small details you had gotten wrong.

She also made absolute sure that you were getting enough exercise and eating well.

Truth be told, she worried about you sometimes, but at the same time, she was happy you were enjoying your work.

On days you both were at home, she'd watch your videos with you cuddled into her side.

Researching, writing, planning and creating videos really took a toll on you sometimes, and more than anything, Peko wanted you to be happy and healthy.

Once, you had fallen asleep at your desk, and Peko had carried you to bed, and then planned a relaxing day for you, when you woke up.

"Oh S/O, have a good sleep... I love you."
