hi! if you're still taking asks about your aus: for the villains quarter au, do you have an izuku and katsuki reunion in mind? if so, how would it go? and how did katsuki feel after izuku disappeared?
I do not stop taking asks ab my AUs, do not worry. Its the main feature of this blog and also brings me great joy! Sometimes I drop off the face of the earth for like a week but this is just who i am as a person.
I have a few ideas for the way a reunion could go! Ill expand on my favourite, but the options are:
Izuku becomes Aizawa's ward and joins UA's gen ed class where he runs into Bakugo (closer to a canon rewrite, izuku doesn't become a hero).
Izuku becomes Kurogiri's official ward, they open a restaurant within the actual city which is shockingly not a money laundering scheme that is frequented by UA students - Bakugo gets dragged there and runs into Izuku (if this au was a slice of life manga).
And, my favourite: things go roughly like canon, though Aizawa is even more overworked bc he's taking more night shifts and he recognises Shigaraki and Kurogiri at the USJ where he feels betrayed on both his and Izuku's behalf. Like, you have a kid at home!! Don't be a villain jesus christ! They go on ab how they are making the world better - for him and for everyone. No one gets too badly injured here bc they aren't going for the kill because Eraserhead is cool and only terrible people kill children (and also if they were terrible people Izuku would be sad and might not serve them food which would be worse than death.)
Oh as an aside, poor Aoyama. All for One didn't actually threaten his parents, it was more like a "I'll pay you, I know your son wants to be a hero so he'll be applying for UA" but they both interpreted that as a threat and also want money, so Aoyama is under the impression his family will be slaughtered if he doesn't act as the traitor. Poor boy.
Anyway! Shigaraki still has Bakugo (and Todoroki, in this AU) kidnapped and brought to the bar. Todoroki was a request of Dabi's bc their old man sucked ass and he wanted to give his little bro the option to just get the hell out of there. Bakugo was both an attempt to recruit someone from Shigaraki, but also he found out he was from the same middle school as Izuku - a middle school full of bullies and abusive teachers. He's honestly kinda concerned for Bakugo's mental health actually.
And then he sees Izuku bringing out dinner for the villains and the poor kids they picked up.
"Deku?"
Bakugo's voice was - uneven. Tomura had snatched him out of UA's hands and the only emotion he'd gotten from the boy was rage, but this? It was unsettling. As was the crash that followed it. He turned around, coming face to face with Izuku, paler than he'd ever seen, broken bowls and spilt food at his feet. Tomura scrambled to his feet to help, just behind Kurogiri who had pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, probably to wipe what had to be blisteringly hot broth from his clothes.
"Kacchan?"
Their Izuku was a cry baby - they'd discovered after that heart wrenching week of empty desolation he'd shown when Tomura had first found him. He cried when he was happy, when he was sad, sometimes even when he was excited. Tomura had expected the happy tears of seeing an old friend, or the angry tears that popped up when Tomura did something he though was stupid, but -
Izuku's eyes were dry.
He took a step back, and then another, slipping onto the ground. Still, he crawled backwards, horrified eyes on the boy they'd taken.
"Deku? Deku! You were fucking dead - we - my mum and dad fucking cried for you you piece of shit, and for what? So you could run off and be a fucking villain? What the fuck is wrong with you! You should have jumped off that fucking roof when I told you to you pathetic -"
A little blue marble clattered to the floor where Bakugo had sat, shutting up the tirade before it could continue. Still. Still.
Izuku was already gone.

➶ WHAT MAKES THE MHA BOYS BREAK (PT. 1)
Tumblr media
pairings: mezo shoji, tokoyami fumikage, hanta sero, izuku midoriya, shoto todoroki, eijiro kirishima, denki kaminari, hitoshi shinsou
warnings: reverse comfort, may or may not have cried a lil’ while writing this. this one hurt a lot but it’s so sweet and fluffy, enjoy luvs!! also lol you could see my favoritism for kirishima
part two with bakugo, iida, ojiro, tamaki, mirio, hawks, dabi, shigaraki, and aizawa is here!
Tumblr media
WHEN YOU CALL THEM BEAUTIFUL: MEZO SHOJI, TOKOYAMI FUMIKAGE, HANTA SERO
Tumblr media
MEZO SHOJI
(HE’S SO UNDERRATED LIKE PLS Y’ALL 😩)
he starts panicking as soon as you ask him to take off his mask
at first, he declines right away before turning his face around so you couldn’t touch the fabric
“mezo, i promise. i won’t hurt you, or judge you i just- i want you to trust me, is that alright with you?” you said gently. “but if you don’t want to, don’t worry about it, ‘kay?”
could he really trust you? or would you leave when he found out he wasn’t a normal person with a normal smile, that he was a monster, that was someone who looked different, what would you do?
but if you didn’t love him for who he really was, then... what was the point, right?
shoji let out a trembled sighed in defeat as his dupli-arms took the mask off. he looked down in shame, eyes shut so he couldn’t see your reaction
but your reaction was... completely unexpected
"You're beautiful!!! Why didn't you tell me that you looked so lovely all this time baby??"
did he just hear you correctly?
did you just-- call him beautiful?
and in that moment, in those small moments, you can see his geniune smile.
his real smile beneath the mask, as his eyes shine for the first time with sincere, and earnest love and thanks
pls keep him 🥺
TOKOYAMI FUMIKAGE
the moment he hear the words "you're beautiful" come out of your mouth, he couldn't stop thinking about it for days.
and i mean days as in multiple days, so probably weeks
and he’ll probably think about it for the rest of his life
because when he looked at himself, he thought: what about him was beautiful?
he didn't have human-like features like everyone else, he didn't have those big muscles and a nice body, because-- well, he had a bird head!
A LITERAL BIRD HEAD, so why on earth did you: you who had human features, you who was so nice to everyone, and you who could have gone for so many other people call him beautiful?
he didn’t have that charisma and extroverted personality like some others did, and he kept to himself
why did you think he was beautiful? how?
but you were the one who said it. you were the one who reminded him, you were the one who gave him hope
and he knew that you were always straightforward with the truth-- and this was a truth, too
and to him, that was the most beautiful thing.
HANTA SERO
this amazing bby doesn’t get enough recognition
but for a good part of his life, he’d been surrounded by people with amazing quirks, levels of strength, and amazing appearances.
he was literally friends with bakugo fricking katsuki, and he was in the same class as shoto todoroki
when he first met you, he had to convince himself for days that there was no way that he could ever catch your eye,
until he did.
when you two met after a long day of training and you told him a joke, his eyes sparkled and he laughed, genuinely
before you knew it, you blurted out the words, “you’re beautiful” before realizing what you’d said and flushing
lol sero chokes on his water
“...did you really mean that?”
“i- yeah, sorry, i didn’t-”
“no, uh, thank you. thank you so much.”
for the next few days, he stays up at night and keeps on training because he thinks of the time you called him, who constantly felt like he wasn’t enough, beautiful
and that was more than enough to make him smile. 🥺💕
WHEN YOU KISS THEIR SCARS: IZUKU MIDORIYA, SHOTO TODOROKI
Tumblr media
IZUKU MIDORIYA
he immediately starts tearing up when you kiss them
most people probably expect him to get flushed with something so intimate, but it’s the opposite
his scars are just something that’s so meaningful to him because it’s evidence of what he’s been through
but at the same time, he’s also insecure about them because he feels like he disappointed his mom by getting hurt so often 🥺
when you kiss his scars and tell them that they’re beautiful, he starts tearing up because-- wow
this is the moment that he’ll remember until the day he dies, because it’s when he feels free to finally open up to you
it’s when he feels free to open up to anyone, for that matter, and a huge weight just gets lifted off his chest
you took his hands and kissed his knuckles before pressing your forehead to his
izuku begins to cry, just a little bit as you gingerly kiss his scars again
“you see? you’re safe. you’re safe with me, okay?”
he nods slowly. “th-thank you.”
SHOTO TODOROKI
you two were walking back to the dorms after training out on the field together
it wasn’t too late a night, just a few minutes before curfew
your hands were buried in your pockets as you two talked about your day and what you could improve on in training
“shoto, can i ask you a question?”
he thought you were mad at him for a moment 😳
“sure.”
you swallowed, as you took a breath, “can i touch your scar?”
he whips his head around, out of shock and confusion
you wanted to touch his scar?
shoto had never planned on anything like that happening to him, and especially not from someone who meant so much to him
“...i suppose so,”
you hid your anxiousness and swallowed, cupping his face in your hands as your hand brushed across his scar
a jolt went through your fingers at that moment, and it was the first time you’d ever felt so connected to someone
shoto todoroki, the prodigy and son of endeavor was letting you touch his scar
to your surprise, shoto melted into it as he closed his eyes, placing his hand gently on top of yours
you could feel his hands shaking though his expressions were so relaxed
you kissed the side of his scar, running a hand through his hair
“i’m so lucky to have you.”
WHEN YOU COMPLIMENT HIS QUIRK: EIJIRO KIRISHIMA, DENKI KAMINARI, HITOSHI SHINSOU
Tumblr media
EIJIRO KIRISHIMA
eijiro cursed as he slammed his head against the wall for the hundredth time that day
he hated to admit it, but ever since the sports festival, everything had just been falling apart
for starters, he was already insecure enough on his own about his quirk
it seemed like everyone had something flashy and made them look invincible, while he was stuck with something that could only follow around his body and cracked if he used it too much
and that... that made him upset
but when the sports festival came around, not only did he see everyone with amazing quirks and using them to their full potential, tetsutetsu had nearly the same quirk as him
and to make matters worse, they had tied and had to settle it with a fist fight
“why?” he asked to himself, looking down at the floor. “why couldn’t i- why couldn’t i have been born with a flashier quirk?”
great, now he was crying.
at least no one else was around to see him this weak-
“kirishima?”
oh shit.
he turned around, his bloodshot eyes locking with yours. “h-hey,” eijiro said weakly
“what are you- what are you doing here-?” you noticed the way his body trembled when he took a breath and blood trickling from his forehead. “hey, are you okay?” you said.
eijiro sincerely had no idea what to say. “my quirk,” he looked down at his hands.
you cocked your head. “what about it? i think it’s pretty neat!”
kirishima looked up. “really?”
“mhm!” you nodded enthusiastically. “it can be the strongest barrier, or the most powerful weapon! i think it’s cool that your body can just become a shield out of nowhere, it’s like-- it’s like you’re a shield, ya know? sure, todoroki might have his ice, but that makes damage and takes time to clean up, like midoriya’s punches or bakugo’s explosions. but your quirk is its own little thing! and i think that’s pretty neat.”
kirishima beamed. huh, maybe so.
DENKI KAMINARI
“good job, bakugo!”
“haha, nice job on that one, kirishima.”
“your quirk is so cool, todoroki! i love how the ice just went striaght through the roof!”
“nice jumping, deku! your punches are amazing.”
but i...
i was the one who helped the power come back, i was the one who literally fried my brain, i was the one who did all of that, and i-
i’m so weak.
denki inhaled through his nose, exhaled through his mouth, trying to stop the trembling in his breath as he closed his eyes
he had done so much, and what did he get in return?
all he wanted was to be someone, to be someone that made people smile, to be someone that people genuinely wanted to see
did anyone even want to see him?
“i’m a failure, i’m a failure, what am i doing, why am i so weakwhat’swrongwithmewhycan’tidoanythingright-”
“good job, kaminari!”
he turned his head, finding you running up to him and waving your hands up in the air
“hey! pikachu!” you exclaimed, trying to catch your breath once you stopped. “great job up there! you left before anyone else could notice, i can’t believe you managed to do all that. your quirk is so cool!”
denki’s heart swelled with pride, his eyes saying nothing but thanks.
your quirk is so cool!
“thanks, y/n! so, how do you feel about going to the arcade after school?”
HITOSHI SHINSOU
hitoshi stared at himself in the mirror, his eyes blood-shot and head fuzzy
“i’m not a villain.” hitoshi said slowly. “i can’t be a villain. i want to be a hero.”
he splashed the sink water onto his face. “get yourself together, are you really going to let a few words hurt you?”
but hitoshi couldn’t help but feel that way-- what could he even use his quirk for- no, no, he could use it for so much. but...
“ha! a quirk such as yours should be only used for villains, you monster! you might as well get out of here before anyone else tries to kick you out.”
hitoshi screamed in anger, splashing the water across his face and pressing hard into his eyes, before slapping himself across the face
“get yourself together..”
“hey, shinsou!! i was wondering if-”
your eyes locked with his frustrated expression. “shinsou? is... something wrong?”
normally, he’d push you away, but-- but now, he really needed someone
your breath hitched when you saw his eyes land onto yours, but for some reason, there was something so lonely and upsetting behind them, before you remembered what a few students at ua had said.
you didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but you were on a rush to get to school that morning and had to run ahead and pass through that area.
“if it’s about what some of those idiots said this morning, just... know that i think, for the record, that your quirk is so cool.”
shinsou’s eyes furrowed in confusion. you? you thought his quirk was cool?
“i’m not lying,” you said, as if reading through his thoughts. “i really think its amazing. you can help so many people with it, you can change the entire world with a quirk as special as that, so act like it! because it’s true, your quirk is really amazing, and i’m pretty sure you’re the only one who doesn’t see it, you knucklehead.”
he doesn’t tell you this, but-
ever since that day, he’s never stopped thinking about it.

I kinda wonder, what could bakugou do (hori write bakugou to do) to make him less popular with the "anti" crowd. Like He was a horrid child no doubt and people who try to put blame on Deku or lessen the terrible shit bakugou did aren't great. But as we don't rly see it, we have to assume bakugous behaviour wasn't stopped, we only ever saw his mum "punishing" him when he was being rude after getting kiddnapped. Nothing will excuse what bakugou did, but he has stopped? He's overall a harsh person but he's not harrassing and bullying people anymore, specifically not deku, he's trying to attone for what he did to deku and has now apologised for it. His behaviour was never viewed as justified or good in the series, he's a scary figure in middle school, we're not meant to like his behaviour, so the series itself hasn't justified his actions.
As someone who relate to both bakugou and deku more than I'd like to admit (never told someone to jump tho, that's fucked lol) so I can 100% understand not liking or even hating bakugou but as someone who's not 15 anymore, looking back I also made a lot of really shitty decisions and like bakugou have tried to make up for it, and like deku I was 'friends' with people who hurt me.
Is there anything he can do for the "antis" to just dislike him rather that be "anti"?
(I'm very sorry if you've talked about this somewhere, you can just tell me to look for it if you have, I'll continue to look for your posts on the subject)
Hey there, anon! I think I’ve spoken about this only tangentially and/or in my main Bakugo meta, which is too big for anyone sane to read. So yeah, let’s chat here!
For me personally—and that’s all I can ever do: speak personally. I think it’s important to keep in mind that there is no single solution to please the “anti” crowd. Each fan will be looking for something slightly different in Bakugo’s character, much of which might contradict what a “stan” is currently enjoying. Given how charged a character he is, I'm not sure it's possible to get the entire fandom to like him—what I’m looking for hinges on having a different reading of the story than you seem to. Meaning, I think the series does justify his behavior. Not in any overt, super obvious way like having all the characters go, “Wow, Bakugo! I sure do love how you threaten people all the time. That’s super cool and heroic!” Things are rarely that straightforward. Rather, it’s in a more subtle, but consistent manner that paints a rather conclusive picture across hundreds of chapters.
Simply put, Bakugo is continually rewarded for his actions. Or, if not outright rewarded, his actions are ignored in a way that implies silent acceptance. Characters may not always like what he does... but they're willing to let it slide because Bakugo's heroism was always treated as a given, not something he had to earn and prove.
With the ever necessary disclaimer that I’m not fully caught up yet, here’s a list of some of the things that stood out to me in the first half of the series:
Bakugo’s bullying made him the most popular kid in school.
Bakugo’s bullying was ignored by/outright supported by the teachers.
Bakugo’s bullying did not hinder him from getting into U.A., one of the most prestigious hero schools around.
Despite acting horribly throughout his time at U.A. too, this behavior was continually ignored by the teachers and other authority figures around him.
Bakugo’s struggle to realize that other people aren’t “trash” doesn’t hurt his achievements in any way. He still gets top scores, still wins the tournament, etc.
Bakugo’s behavior gets him special attention from All Might, the greatest hero and Bakugo’s personal idol.
His behavior doesn’t make others dislike him in any manner that’s taken seriously. Everybody is still willing to not just put up with Bakugo, but—in time—start treating his behavior as a quirk (no pun intended lol) that they’re secretly fond of, rather than something he should legitimately be striving to change. Kirishima is the most overt example of this.
This is compounded by his behavior constantly being framed as humorous. Much like with Mineta’s perverted actions, characters might superficially go, “No, that’s bad!” but the story never demands any significant development because then we’d lose the “joke” of Bakugo screaming in rage at the slightest inconvenience, threatening to murder someone over nothing, constantly belittling everyone around him in a “funny” manner, etc. When fans talk about development of a manga character as archetypal and extreme as Bakugo, most don’t really want to see significant change to his base personality. Because then that would result in someone who doesn’t look like the “real” Bakugo: someone nicer, more even-tempered, more mature, etc. But for those of us who were never drawn to that personality in the first place, the continued acceptance of his rude, egotistical, and violent behavior is discomforting. The easiest comparison I can draw is between this and Bakugo’s mother slapping him. That slap is meant to be another “joke”—we see it constantly in shonen anime, something "humorous" you shouldn’t take too seriously because haha, it's just an overprotective mother—but many fans do take it seriously, using it as the basis for a whole “Bakugo was abused and this explains his behavior” reading. Well, I take the “joke” of Bakugo’s threats and insults seriously, especially in a story that starts with something like telling Izuku to jump off the roof. In the same way that many fans want others to treat Bakugo’s mother as a serious topic that has had a negative influence on his development, I want the series to take Bakugo’s everyday actions seriously as a negative influence on… well, everyone around him. But it doesn’t. His base personality is grudgingly adored.
The above two points are seen most overtly in Izuku, who never wavers in his respect for Bakugo despite how Bakugo treats him. Not just prior to U.A., but during their training too. Izuku, as the protagonist, is the emotional heart of this tale, so when he talks about how inspiring Bakugo is, it encourages the reader to see his behavior as inspiring too. Rather than, as said, something that needs to change. Izuku's continued friendship with Bakugo, his adoration of him, and his acceptance of the way he's treated has severely warped how the entire story sees Bakugo's actions. After all, if #pure Izuku can see the good in Bakugo, why can't everyone else? He must not be that bad after all.
I could get into detailed analyses of all the above—like how Bakugo was the one comforted after attacking Izuku outside the dorms at night and how the messed up relationship he has with Izuku is upheld as something to nurture; how the remedial courses he had to take were made to be rather silly, thereby undermining their supposed importance to his development; how Bakugo’s kidnapping had nothing to do with his flaws, but much of the fandom uses it as a way to dismiss any appropriate consequences because, “Hasn’t he suffered enough?” etc.—but in the interest of keeping this within a readable length, I’ll leave it at that. The point is that Bakugo has always been privileged when it comes to his behavior, resulting in others either outright praising it, ignoring it, or demanding that he change a miniscule bit, which always keeps him far below the standards of both his peers and the expectations of a hero. Everyone in 1-A must learn to be even better than the good people they already are... Bakugo needs to learn that other people aren't dirt at the bottom of his shoes. It's never been a particularly impressive development when pit against the rest of the class. All of which can make something like an apology feel pretty hollow. Yes, he’s apologized and I say with all seriousness that that’s great! But how does that apology stack up against 300+ chapters of content? As Bakugo’s words highlight, he's been a really awful person up "until now": he was consumed by Izuku being “miles ahead of [him],” he “looked down on [him]” because he didn’t have a quirk, he “didn’t want to recognize that,” he “hated that,” “grew distant,” “tried to beat you down,” “opposed you and tried to show my superiority over you,” and ends it all with, “it probably doesn’t mean anything telling you all this” before finally getting to the “I’m sorry.” This is basically a laundry list of how horrible a person Bakugo has been for the entire series, with an acknowledgement that this apology is coming really, really late. This is the moment where I could START to like Bakugo, depending on how he acts form here on out, but that pivotal moment arrived after six years of content and in the final arc of the story. It’s too late. Bakugo needed this kind of self-reflection and positive action 250+ chapters ago so he could (hopefully) grow into a better person across the story, not at the story's end. What we got instead is 322 chapters of him being a really horrible person, but the story going out of its way to excuse or even praise that behavior the majority of the time.
As a quick comparison to end on, I think what Bakugo needed was what Soo Jin got in True Beauty. You don’t need to have seen the drama to follow along. The tl;dr is that she has a lot of the core qualities of Bakugo: an all-consuming drive to win that was created due to abusive parents with high expectations, resulting in her bullying a peer to a pretty horrific extent. The difference between them is how the story frames their actions. When Soo Jin becomes the bully she loses everything. Rather than succeeding academically, her grades plummet, making it clear that this anxiety and self-doubt (things the fandom keeps insisting Bakugo is struggling with, but that rarely ever show up in the text) is actually impacting her day-to-day life. Her best friend drops her because she’s not going to support her choices. The boy she likes rejects her. She’s eventually forced to start over somewhere new - which importantly separates her from the girl she was bullying - and get some distance from her parents, resulting in the growth needed to become a healthier, happier, good person again. So when Soo Jin apologizes to the girl she hurt, it feels earned. The story continually recognized how horrific her actions were and put her into a place where she either had to change, or continue losing at everything else that was important to her. Bakugo? Bakugo doesn’t lose. Oh, he claims he does because he’s comparing himself to Izuku constantly, but that’s just him thinking in extremes. He still wins academically. Still wins many battles. Still wins at having friends. Still wins by maintaining the prestige of being a U.A. student. Still wins by getting All Might’s attention. Still wins by receiving Izuku’s respect and an agreement to maintain this rivalry that Bakugo is so obsessed with. Bakugo comes out well 99% of the time, he just thinks he's "lost" because he can't stand not being the absolute best.
For me, the story needed to have Bakugo face consequences for his behavior, not receive rewards and/or have others ignore it, and that revelation/apology needed to come way, way sooner. For me the issue is not a specific action that Horikoshi can have Bakugo do in the next chapter and them bam, I like him now. The problem is Bakugo’s entire concept, how he’s received by the entire cast, and his run across this entire series. "Entire" is the key word there. Which is why the “But he’s apologized. What more do you antis want?” reactions don’t sit well. What we wanted is a better written redemption arc across those 300+ chapters, not a single scene that’s meant to have us forget all the other problems inherent in the story. At this point it’s a far more complicated situation than, “Bakugo just needs to do X, Y, and Z and then we’re golden.” At the end of the day, Horikoshi failed to make me like him as a person and I’m pretty sure he isn’t going to change Bakugo enough to make him likable to me. Bakugo was never the sort of character I’d be inclined towards without a serious, nuanced redemption arc, but sadly, a core, crucial part of that redemption arc took six years to arrive. At this point there’s no way to change the problems in Bakugo’s writing for that huge chunk of the series and not enough time left in the series, it seems, to do the work we should have seen across the entire run. Honestly, idk if the Bakugo we'll get going forward is someone I can just dislike as opposed to being really uncomfortable with, but my money is on there being too little story left and too much investment in upholding Bakugo's base personality for that to happen. I could absolutely be proven wrong! But I think the problems are structural and needed to be better dealt with from page one, not hastily patched over in the final hour.

Bakugo With a quirkless Sibling
I accidently deleted this one the other day, and took advantage to edit them some more.
WARNING: Mentions of bullying, swearing attempted suicide, angst with a happy ending
• By the time Bakugo was in his last year of middle school his sister was still a toddler, barely three years old so there was barely any interactions between the two of them.
• Since the day (Y/N) was born he would be on babysitting duty when their parents couldn't find a babysitter, he wasn't a bad brother, he was distant but responsible, always making sure his sister was well-fed, clean and busy, other than that he wouldn't actually pay attention to them, too busy studying and training to be a hero. so their relationship wasn't that close to begin with.
• Their parents would often come home to find little (Y/N) sleeping on the baby seat or busy with some toy, and her brother doing his homework on the coffe table.
• When Bakugo moved into the school dorms (Y/N) was almost five years old, and when her quirk never appeared their parents realized their youngest child was quirkless. They tried to comfort the little girl who was awfully quiet as tears ran down their tiny face.
• The day after the fight with Deku, Bakugo found out (Y/N) was quirkless, he appeared calm on the outside, but when he was alone on his room the guilt he felt on the inside was immense, it was karma wasn't it? all the times he kept bullying Deku came to mind.
• He remembers that time his "friends" came home for a group project, how they had been talking shit about the boy and he didn't realize (Y/N) was listening until one of the guys pointed out the "brat" looking at them from the stairs, he quickly went to take (Y/N) to her room, not before glaring at his classmates, nobody insults his sister and gets away with it.
• He wanted to go home and talk to her, he knew what this meant, children can be cruel, but he couldn't leave school grounds because of the suspension, if he did Aizawa would extend it. he could only hope things would be fine at home.
• Bakugo was wrong.
• (Y/N)'s birthday was coming, she always got excited for her birthday, but this year was different, she barely came out of her room and wouldn't talk to their parents, somehow the other children had found out she was quirkless and wouldn't stop making fun of her, some went as far as to rip their birthday invitation in front of her as they laughed.
• Mitsuki was furious, so was Masaru, they had talked to the principal about the situation and were told the teacher was trying to make the kids stop, but there was little they could do, some of them just wouldn't listen, they had tried talking to the parents or other family members as well to no avail.
• Bakugo was desperate to see his sister, when he got the call from his parents his worry was beginning to grow even bigger. One day things just got worse.
• It was his turn to take out the trash when he ran into someone he never thought he'd see again, one of his ex-clasmates from middle school, one of his so called friends, the smug look on his face made him wary, Bakugo had a bad feeling and he didn't like it one bit. Specially when the bastard mentioned (Y/N).
• "Have they tried jumping out of a roof already?" Smoke was starting to come out of Bakugo's hands "What did you just say?!" the guy just started checking out his nails nonchalantly "Oh nothing really, i'm just saying I would check on them if I were you, I may have had a little talk with them this morning and told them what their dear brother said to one of his quirkless classmates"
• That moment nothing mattered to Bakugo, he was seeing red, this fucking extra was trying to kill a child, HIS little sister to make it worse, he didn't realize he had thrown a punch until he heard the bastard screaming in pain, he was laying on the floor holding his face, Bakugo had definitely broken his nose, that same moment Deku came looking for him, when he saw who was in the floor he was surprised.
• "kacchan, what happened?! what's he doing here?" "This! This bastard went and told (Y/N) to kill herself!" he was furiously holding the guy's shirt in a death-grip. Then he remembered one thing he said.
• I would check on them if i were you
• His cellphone snapped him out of his thought, it was his Father.
• (Y/N) had locked herself in her room and wouldn't stop crying, she wouldn't stop screaming Katsuki would hate them too, just like everyone else in school
• His heart stopped for a second, he felt his soul leaving his body from the panic he was feeling, Bakugo couldn't stay and do nothing anymore, screw the detention! (Y/N) was in danger!
• He shoved the guy towards Deku and told him not to let him get away.
• "W-wait, Kacchan! Where are you going?!" "I have to see (Y/N)'s safe!" he ran off as fast a he could.
• Meanwhile said guy was trying to run away, just for a hand to catch his shoulder and start squeezing so hard he could almost feel his shoulder was about to break, Deku had a murderous aura on him, the last time someone tried to harm a child was when he saved Eri-chan, he wouldn't let that happen again, not on his watch.
• Bakugo ran home as fast as he could, he didn't care if he was suspended or even expelled for punching a civilian, all he cared about what saving his sister, he would make sure she was safe, he promised himself to protect her.
• By the time Bakugo had arrived at his house there was a police car outside, he went pale thinking the worst, what happened?! was (Y/N) ok!? was he too late?!
• he slammed the door open to be met with the sight of two police officers, his father was trying to comfort his crying mother...
• and his little sister was in her arms, eyes and face all red and puffy from crying, but she was safe and sound.
• the weight on his shoulders disappeared, he didn't realized he was holding his breath until he let out a sigh of relief, once the adults noticed the teen's presence his parents were surprised. Mitsuki loosened her hold on (Y/N), who looked a this brother with a fear of rejection.
• "Katsuki? what are you doing here?"
• He didn't pay any attention to his Mother, quickly running up to his parents and taking his sister from his mother's hold and into one of the tightest hugs he's ever given them in all his life as he dropped on his knees. He couldn't stop the tears as he apologized to them over and over again, voice breaking as he cradled them.
• The officers explained the child had been trying to jump out of their window, and while his parents were trying to talk sense into them one of the officers was outside distracting them, the other officer had to break down the door and quickly snatched the kid away from the window and into their parent's arms.
• In a crying fit (Y/N) told the officers how the cousin of one of his classmates told them how Bakugo hated quirkless people, how he would always bully Deku in class, even telling him to jump off a roof. He told them that they should save his brother the trouble of dealing with an useless brat like them and to jump from a roof themselves. It was the guy he had punched, he had been friends with Bakugo and had been clearly jealous he couldn't enter U.A.
• Bakugo told them he had actually run into the guy and what he said to him about his sibling with little to no remorse, he also told them about the punch and that he should be in U.A. where he left him with a classmate. After taking his declaration the officers went to U.A. to take the guy in. He was going to get charges for endangering and verbally harassing a child.
• Once the officers left his parents had a talk with him, he told them the truth about the things he said and how he regreted what he said and did to Deku that day, they were angry, specially his father, and while nothing happened to Deku he would still be grounded. Bakugo couldn't disagree.
• Aizawa was furious when Midoriya came up to him dragging the bloody teen and explained what Bakugo did, the teacher was seriously considering expelling Bakugo when the police arrived and told him about the situation, hearing the circumstances made him change his mind, specially when they told him about the things the guy said to a child, once they took the screaming asshole away the teacher talked to the principal, and after some arrangements they called Bakugo's house.
• The school allowed Bakugo to stay for a few day at home, but he was still suspended, he didn't mind.
• During that time Bakugo became a totally different person towards his sister. he stopped being the distant brother he used to be and became an over-protective brother instead, (Y/N) wanted to go to the park? he would take them to the park, they wanted to play with him?, he would make sure to play with her until she got tired out. Their playtime sessions would vary from roughhousing to tea parties, Mitsuki had plenty of picture of his son sporting a tiara and sitting on the floor playing with (Y/N).
• He made sure (Y/N) was happy during her birthday party, even if most of their classmates didn't show up, he told her not to care about those extras.
• His parents decided to pull (Name) from their old school and enroll them into one where the staff had a strict anti-bullying policy, they wouldn't tolerate their kid going through more bullying.
• have you seen that video where a dad is carrying his daughter as they sing "girls like you" in the bathroom? Masaru has a video where Bakugo's doing the same thing with (Y/N).
• Once Bakugo goes back to class some of his classmates asked him about his sister, he's ready to kill Deku thinking the snitched, turns out the case made it to the news due to the severity of the situation, (Y/N)'s previous school tried to wash their hands and blame the guy, just to have proof of previous stances of bullying shoved down their throats, his sister was just one of many cases.
• He just told them (Y/N) was fine while looking at his phone, this time Mitsuki had caught her husband copying your guy's video and sent it to her son, he was trying to hold back his laughter.
• When the school festival was close his friends told him to bring (Name) so the whole classroom could meet her, he was against the idea, first because the festival was school-only, second he claimed they would be a nothing but bad influences for (Y/N). It took a lot of convincing but he ended up saying yes and got permission to bring his sister to the festival, but the moment she started saying anything remotely close to swear words he would kill them all.
• "Wait, you mean you never swear around her?" "Of course not, what kind of brother do you take me for you shitty hair?!" "who are you and what have you done to Bakugo?!" "Ah?!"
• The day of the festival everyone was waiting for Bakugo to show up with a gremlin, they didn't expect a sweet little girl so adorable that it was like you were looking at another Eri-chan. They didn't expect to see her sitting on Bakugo's shoulders either.
• "Are they adopted?" "no, why?" "cause they're nothing like you at all" "you fu--dgy Pikachu!"
• All of his classmates were clearly dotting on her, Mina and Hagakure wouldn't stop poking her cheeks, Koda was showing her his pet bunny, (Y/N) was having the time of their live hanging from Shoji's arms.
• Bakugo actually laughed when Deku tried to greet her, (Y/N) just gave him a look and ran to hide behind her brother's legs, she was hissing at him like a cat. The poor guy went into a corner.
• His over-protectiveness went off the moment (Y/N) saw Todoroki, a light blush adorning her tiny face, he just picked her pick and walked away muttering "oh no no no no no, don't even think about it"
• During the concert (Y/N) stayed with Mirio and Eri, both girls quickly became friends. They were both sitting on Mirio's shoulders and yelling joyfully during the whole show.
• (Y/N) became an honorary member of the Bakusquad. Bakugo was glad his little sister was having the time of her life and getting along with his classmates.
• Until she gave him her own nickname.
• When (Y/N) heard Deku calling her brother "Kacchan" she looked up at her brother with a confused look. Kirishima mentioned it was a nickname he gave his brother, the little girl was thinking for a moment before shaking her head.
• "I don't like it!" "oh? you don't like your brother's nickname?" (Y/N) shook her head while pouting "Then what would you like to call him?" she was silent or a minute before looking at her brother again.
• "Bakago!"
• There was a minute of silence, Bakugo fell face down on the floor, everyone burst out laughing at his new nickname. "Bakago" became his new nickname from then on.
• The day (Y/N) found out Deku called him "Bakago" once she started calling him "Bakatsuki" instead.
• Bakugo just crouched in front of her to pinch her cheeks "You're lucky you're cute (Y/N)".

Born in Dreams, Forged in Blood - Chapter 2
Rated: M
Summary: Katsuki Bakugo was not a good communicator. To be fair, neither was Izuku Midoriya. Looking back on their dumpster fire of a friendship, communication was probably the most significant missing piece in their interpersonal puzzle. Luckily, their translator is back in town, and they're about to take UA by storm.

“I’m gonna give Sana a tour of the dorms.” Katsuki barked at the end of the day. “Then we’re going to see Deku, and we’ve got private shit to discuss. You extras better clear out before we get back.”
The look on Uraraka’s face told Sana that they’d have to forcibly remove her from the infirmary if they wanted any privacy. “I really don’t like that girl.” She muttered as they separated from their classmates.
“She’s impressive, but she’s nosy and she gets really territorial about Deku. Think she has some kinda claim over him or something.” He replied. “She has more right to be in Deku’s business than I do, though.”
“Yeah, what the hell is up with that? I know he hasn’t stopped being a friend to you, but he’s actually starting to believe that you hate him. And you told him to jump off the roof. He told me. What the fuck, dude?”
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
“Tough shit, Kacchan! The three of us are supposed to have each other’s backs against the world. It’s been that way since we were in diapers.”
“We still have each other’s backs. I’ve saved him. He’s saved me. I’m not turning my back when he’s in trouble or anything.”
“Yeah, but you act like a dick, and there’s more to friendship than literal life-threatening situations. You need to be there for the emotional shit, too. You help each other get stronger, work out problems together, just spend some fuking time together,—“
“Yeah, well Deku and I aren’t there anymore, okay? Drop it.”
“No! Tell me what happened!”
“He didn’t have a quirk!” He snapped, rounding on her. He looked around—they were outside the dorms now—and found no one in sight. Nonetheless, he grabbed her arm and pulled her inside—dragging her into the elevator. “If we’re doing this, it’s not gonna be where those extras can overhear us.”
“Fine.” She barked back, allowing him to pull her into his room and slam the door. “You could have just whispered. I would have heard you.”
“Yeah, but if AirPods is lurking, we’ll get overheard out in the open.” He replied, frustrated. “Okay, look. I started being hard on Deku because he didn’t have a quirk, but he still wanted to be a hero. He kept on putting himself in dangerous situations to get closer to hero fights and stood up to bullies and shit whose quirks were fucking violent. At first, I just wanted him to be reasonable and start looking out for himself, but he kept getting worse and I got more frustrated. He wasn’t even training physically at that point, just going off analysis and shitty self-preservation instincts. I just wanted him to think. I might have lost sight of what I was trying to get through his thick skull, but I was so fucking angry at him.”
“So you told him to kill himself?” She demanded. “You’re one of my best friends, but that’s seriously fucked up.”
“Yeah, I know.” He snapped. “I regret that, okay? Especially since that same fucking day, he saved me from the sludge villain. Before All Might showed up, I mean. But that still made me furious because what the fuck was he thinking?”
“Have you considered apologizing?”
“No, because now I’m pissed off for a different reason. He had a quirk and he let me have a fucking heart attack every time he pulled some crazy self-sacrificing stunt.”
“He said he was a super-late bloomer. Maybe it was triggered during the sludge villain attack? That’s when he started getting cagey with me, at least.
“That’s not it.” Katsuki muttered. “I have a theory now. I don’t know why I didn’t realize it sooner.”
“Wanna share with the class?” She replied when he didn’t elaborate.
“Not yet. But we should talk about it with Deku when we go see him later.” He admitted. “And your villain encounter. Don’t think I forgot.”
“You’ve had way more villain encounters than I have.” She paused. “Are you okay, by the way? After the kidnapping, I mean?”
He scowled. “Add that to the ‘we’ll talk about it later’ list.” He grumbled. “I mean physically, I’m fine. Mentally, I’m working on it.”
She sighed. “Fine. Wanna finish showing me around? You can tell me about our classmates while we’re at it.” She suggested, already moving toward the door. It was like talking to an emotionally constipated brick wall with him, sometimes.
“Uh, first…” He stopped her and she paused, turning back to look at him. “It’s good to see you. I’m glad you’re here.” He muttered, looking away. The tips of his ears burned, and she couldn’t help but smile. He might be emotionally constipated, but at least he was trying.
She threw her arms around his neck in a ferocious hug. “I missed you. Both of you. I’m really glad to be back. It didn’t feel right—learning to be a hero without you.” He murmured into his neck.
“I don’t want to get your hopes up about the team thing, because I dunno if Deku and I will be able to get past our shit. But yeah. It’ll be…nice. For the three of us to be together, I mean.”
“See? That’s a good first step!” She cheered. “Come on. Show me around.” She urged, pulling him back through the door.
He gave her a perfunctory tour, but ended up in the kitchen making food while he told her about their classmates.
“So…we like Kirishima, Kaminari, Ashido, Jirou, and Sero actively. We like Ojiro, Koda, Tokoyami, Yaoyorozu, Hagakure, Sato, and Todoroki passively. We don’t really “get” Sparkles or Tentacles. We aren’t sure about Frog Face, we dislike but respect Kirby and Four-Eyes, and fuckin hate Mineta. Sound about right?”
“Yeah. Froggy’s alright, but she tends to judge people too quickly. She’s kind of a know-it-all and she's pretty uptight, but she tells it straight and says what’s on her mind. She pissed me off today, but she was one of the people leading the charge to stop me from getting kidnapped at the training camp. She’s a real asset in a team, too. Level headed.”
“That was a whole lot of compliments. You better sling some insults to balance yourself soon.” She warned him. He threw a carrot peel at her face. “Rude. I was just trying to help.” She groused, picking the peel out of her hair.
“Yeah, well quit it.” He replied. He began ladling curry into tupperware over rice. “I was thinking we could take Deku dinner and eat with him while we catch up and talk through our shit.” He mumbled. Unfortunately for him, she heard him loud and clear.
“That’s really sweet of you, Kacchan.” She grinned, only smiling wider when he glowered. “Sounds like a plan. As long as we’re allowed to eat in the infirmary.”
He snorted. “We’re barely allowed to visit the infirmary. Aizawa basically told us to fuck off, remember? We’re going to sob-story our way in so that we can get his other visitors kicked out and stay past curfew.”
“The hell are you talking about?”
“You. Make up some bullshit about how much you miss Deku until she lets us stay.”
“I do miss Deku.” She deadpanned.
“Exactly. That’s fuckin perfect.”
“Kacchan.”
“Let’s go.”
As expected, Izuku’s room was occupied when they arrived. “I’m sorry, I can’t allow more than two visitors at a time. Otherwise it’s not fair to the other patients.” Recovery Girl informed them when they asked to see him.
“They already had their turn. Can’t you kick them out?” Katsuki growled. Sana smacked his arm (hard).
“It’s nice to meet you, Recovery Girl! I’m Sana Kimura—the transfer student. You’ll probably be seeing a lot of me.” She smiled, polite and charming. “Could you make an exception, just this once? I haven’t seen Zuku in over a year, and I wanted to surprise him today. I don’t want one of our classmates to give away the secret before I get the chance!”
She squinted at the newcomer. “Why does Bakugo have to join you?”
“We’re all childhood friends! Its been a long time since we’ve been able to spend time together. Besides, Kacchan is helping me navigate campus until I get settled.”
Recovery Girl squinted even longer—long enough to even unsettle Bakugo. “Very well. Wait here. I’ll let his other visitors know that their time is up. But I don’t want you to cause any trouble, do you understand, young man?”
Sana bristled, but Katsuki spoke before she could interject. “I understand. And uh…sorry. About the last time, I mean. I was out of line, and I destroyed a lot of your equipment.”
Recovery Girl smiled at him. “Thank you for your apology. I understand how frustrated you must have been. I must have scolded Miss Midnight for an hour after she put that muzzle on you.”
Sana scowled fiercely. “He should have been allowed to not accept the medal.” She said, seething. “That Todoroki kid didn't’ give it his all. Katsuki would have won, but that wasn’t a real win.”
“No need to convince me, dear. I agree.” She soothed. “I’ll go clear the room for you kids. Wait here.” She bustled into the room where Izuku was contained, and within seconds Sana heard loud protests booming from the occupants.
“You watched the Sports Festival?”
She snorted. “Of course I did. You and Zuku were both competing. Besides, Auntie Inko sent me about six million reminders. I wouldn’t have missed it, but I also couldn’t have missed it.”
“Oh. Well, what did you think?”
“About you? Or did you want me to give you a complete analysis of each match?”
“Just fucking tell me, dammit.”
She snickered. “You were great. I can’t believe how much control you have over your quirk now. I do think, however, that you need to work on your image in public.” He glowered. “Come on. You’re a hero. You can’t yell ‘die’. You gotta work on the rage. You want people to be hopeful when they see you, not intimidated.”
“Half my image problems came from the fucking muzzle and handcuffs. The rest of it was just treating my opponents like actual opponents. It’s shitty to pull your punches on someone who’s trying their best.”
“I agree. But really, yelling ‘die’ makes you sound unhinged. I’m pretty sure it’s a leftover habit from playing too many first person shooters, but really.”
“Yeah, I know. I’m working on it.” He conceded, pleased that she was impressed, but annoyed that she found his flaws noteworthy.
It didn’t escape her notice that Katsuki clammed up and bristled as soon as Uraraka and Iida entered the hallway.
“You got us kicked out?” Uraraka demanded, eyes fixed on Katsuki. “You actually think he wants you in his infirmary room? You’re usually the one who puts him in here!”
“He’s here because I’m here. Not that it’s any of your business. Just because you’re his friend, doesn’t mean you can dictate who Zuku spends time with.”
“Leave it alone.” Katsuki muttered, already walking into Izuku’s room. Sana looked like she wanted to argue, but if Katsuki was being the calm and reasonable one, she should probably leave it alone. She met Uraraka’s glare and Iida’s affronted, scandalized face with a venomous stare of her own, then followed Katsuki into the room.
“Kacchan? You’re my other visitor? Why are you here? Is everything—“ Izuku fell silent when sana walked through the door and stared, mouth ajar.
“Man, you two need to work on your greetings.” She joked as Izuku continued to stare at her in shock. “First time I see you two in over a year and Katsuki swears at me and you stare at me like I’m an alien. Not a single hello. You’re lucky I don’t take it personally.”
“Sana?” He choked out.
“Who the fuck else would it be, Deku?” Katsuki snapped. She slugged him in the arm.
“What are you doing here? It’s so good to see you!” He cried, automatically moving to get up before wincing and slumping back onto his cot. Apparently, he’d forgotten his injury.
“I told you I had a surprise for you!” She laughed, coming to stand by his bedside. “I transferred to UA!”
Izuku gaped again, eyes wide and jaw hanging open. “What?”
Katsuki rolled his eyes. “She had some mystery encounter with a fucking villain and didn’t totally suck at handling herself, so Principal Furry scouted her for the hero course.” He barked. “She’s in 1-A.”
To no one’s surprise, yet Katsuki’s immeasurable horror, Izuku began to tear up. “You’re really transferring to UA? We’ve missed you so much, don’t you dare say sike!” He blubbered, tears already dripping down his face. Sana cooed in comfort, immediately bending to pull him into a tight hug.
“Telling the truth, Zuku.” She promised. He sobbed louder.
“Stop crying, nerd. We brought you dinner.” Katsuki snapped, shoving the tupperware at him as he sat on his other side. “We’ve got shit to talk about, and visiting hours are almost up. We were gonna ask if we could stay past curfew, but that’s probably one too many favors for Recovery Girl, and we’re not gonna get privacy like this in the dorm. So hurry up and get your shit together.”
“You brought me dinner, Kacchan?” Izuku murmured, eyes wide as he stared at the tupperware in wonder. “You made me dinner? Thank you!”
“Whatever, nerd.” He muttered, looking away. Did he really have to act like he’d cured cancer or some shit? “You and I have shit to work out, but we can do that later. Just eat and listen while Princess Shithead explains how she was in a villain attack and didn’t tell us about it.”
Izuku frowned at Sana, simultaneously snapping the lid off his curry. “Why didn’t you tell us, Sana?” he pouted, sounding disappointed. Sana groaned.
“Let me tell you right now, the disappointed for withholding information thing is NOT going to work in your favor, Zuku.” She warned. “You have a quirk.” Izuku turned red, eyes dropping to his hands as they gripped the food container.
“Stop changing the fucking subject!” Katsuki snarled.
“Fine! It’s not that big a deal. There was this super gross villain who had robbed a bank and when he was surrounded, he started destroying everything in sight. I was picking up groceries for dinner and got caught on the scene. I got scouted because I cleared a space for triage and defended it from debris and shit. The only bad part was not having my compression sleeves or braces with me.” She rushed out.
“I saw that attack on the news! That villain leveled three city blocks and nearly took down Gang Orca!” Izuku cried. “You could have gotten seriously hurt!”
“If that’s not the fucking pot calling the kettle black…” Katsuki muttered.
Sana rolled her eyes. “We’re training to be heroes. That’s the territory.Seriously, I didn’t even get that badly hurt. All of my injuries came from my own quirk”.
“The hell is your problem?” Katsuki demanded. “Why didn’t you fucking say anything until now? You could have died! You could have died and you didn’t tell us? I’ll fucking kill you!”
“What good would telling you have done? You couldn’t do anything! Not to mention you were taken by the League like two days later! Izu’s arms got fucked up and he actually almost died because of his showdown with Muscular. You had your own shit to worry about!”
“Fucking christ.” Katsuki spat, dropping his face into his palms.
“Look, we’re all okay, right? That’s what matters.” Sana reasoned. “And next time we’ll be stronger.”
“Do you want a fucking list of how not okay this shit is? Deku has a quirk, and it breaks his bones every fifteen minutes. You could have died in a villain attack and didn’t tell us. I got kidnapped, and I’m the fucking reason All Might retired.” His voice broke on the last point. Deku turned to him so fast, Sana was surprised he didn’t break the sound barrier. “Fuck. This is my fault. Everything that’s wrong between us is my fault.”
“Oh, fuck no.” Sana snapped.
“That’s not true, Kacchan!” Deku hissed. “I’m the reason All Might retired. You’re amazing! You’re so strong and you stayed strong when you were kidnapped, even when most people doubted you. Sure, we had our struggles in middle school, but you’re still important to me and I admire you. The only reason I’ve been able to use this quirk is because I’ve been watching you grow all these years.”
Katsuki looked up at them then, and they were both horrified to find him crying. “If I’d been stronger—or if I’d listened to that cat lady and retreated earlier, All Might would still have his power.”
“No. No no no no no no no.” Deku muttered, scrambling for his phone on the bedside table. “Hold on for a second, but please stop crying Kacchan.” He pleaded. He fired off a quick text, looking unbelievably nervous. He already operated at a baseline anxiety of 60%, so now it looked like he was going to vibrate out of his skin. “Okay.” He said, looking back at them. “If I tell you this, it has to stay completely secret. Promise me.”
Katsuki sniffed and Sana nodded. “I promise.” She said.
“Whatever. Fine.” Katsuki muttered, wiping at his eyes. Izuku braced himself, anxiety palpably rising with every second. “Just spit it out, nerd!” Katsuki barked, intimidation undermined by the wavering note in his voice.
“All Might was always going to lose his power.” Izuku began. “He was badly injured five years ago, and his control over his power has been fading since then. He came to UA to find a successor.” He told them. Sana gaped at him.
“How the hell do you know that?” She demanded.
“Isn’t it obvious?” Katsuki spat. “All Might chose him. After the sludge villain, right? That’s when you two met.”
Deku looked at him in surprise. “Uh…yeah. The Sludge Villain attacked me first, and All Might saved me. He told me that I couldn’t be a hero without a quirk. But then the sludge villain got free and attacked you, and I happened to pass by. I was ready to give up, but as soon as I saw you, I had to help. It wasn’t a choice, it was an instinct. After you yelled at me, All Might caught up with me. He trained me for ten months, and on the morning of the entrance exam, he gave me his quirk.”
Sana’s jaw dropped, eyes glazing. Katsuki, however, looked barely phased. “I figured it was something like that. After Kamino Ward—All Might’s message…”
“Yeah.” Izuku nodded. “That was for me.” Tears pricked at his eyes. “He was telling me that his time as the symbol of peace was over. That it was my turn.” He looked down at his hands. “If anything, it’s my fault that he lost his power. Just like it’s my fault that you got kidnapped.”
“Come on, what the fuck?” Sana groaned.
“What the hell are you talkin about, Deku?”
“If I’d gotten to you sooner—if I hadn’t broken my arms, if I’d been able to reach you before Kurogiri—“
“I told you not to follow me! I told you to stay back. You know why I’ve been so pissed at you Deku? It’s cause you’re fuckin stupid. You keep getting yourself into shitty situations that you can’t handle. It wouldn’t have made anything better if we’d both died.”
“Kacchan—“
“No. Fuck no. I said we’d talk about it later, but it’s not like Sana doesn’t know what’s been going on. I didn’t want you hanging around me because you kept getting hurt and it drove me fuckin nuts. Sure you don’t need a quirk to be a hero, but you need to fuckin train or something! You were this skinny little nerd and you kept picking fights that you weren’t able to finish!”
“That’s bullshit, Kacchan!” Izuku snapped back. “Even after I got a quirk, you were being an asshole!”
“Yeah, because even though you had a quirk, you still treated your body like garbage and didn’t show any fucking restraint! If you know your bones break every time you use your quirk, you don’t break them twice to win a fucking festival game.” He snarled. “And you kept it from me!”
“I kept it a secret because you were being an asshole!”
“I was being an asshole because you kept breaking your fucking arms!”
“My body wasn’t strong enough to handle my quirk yet!” He argued. “I had to train and figure out how to use it! It’s not my fault the League of Villains kept showing up!”
“STOP!” Sana snapped. “Okay, this is conversation is set up to go in a really aggravating circle. Katsuki, you were worried about Zuku because he was quirkless and reckless, Then you were worried about him because even though he had a quirk, his body wasn’t prepared for it and it kept on hurting him. Despite that, he was still reckless. Gotta say, I’m not too thrilled about that either. I almost puked when I watched your fight with Todoroki.” She pinned him with a glare. “Not to mention, until today he thought you’d chosen to keep your quirk from him for years and just let him panic whenever you did something nuts.”
Izuku gaped. “I wouldn’t do that!”
“Well I know that now!”
“Shut it!” She growled. “Deku, you may not have totally given up on him, but you let yourself get intimidated by him, so you started hiding shit from him. He was trying to give you tough love but he went overboard because he was frustrated, and he didn’t explain his point of view. You didn’t really stop consider why he started losing his shit, and just assumed it was because you were quirkless. You let your toxic masculinity force a five-year miscommunication. Now your relationship is a goddamn dumpster fire and the two of you are fucking messes. You should both be in therapy for multiple reasons. I can’t believe you two are still so dense that you need a fucking translator to get along, but fuck it! I’m here now, and I’m done with this bullshit. I hope you’re happy. I’m going to be your interpersonal fire extinguisher and emotional housekeeper until you two dumb-shits can take care of it yourselves.”
Both Izuku and Katsuki were darting their glances between her and each other, growing steadily redder as she ranted. “You can’t just magically fucking turn Deku and me into magical fucking unicorns who fart fucking rainbows.” Katsuki snapped. Despite himself, Izuku snorted.
“Of course I can’t. But you two can stop being such gigantic tools and start talking to each other again. And when you can’t get it right, I’ll just…translate for you.” She nearly hit them both when they both offered her skeptical expressions. “Listen, fuckfaces. Our dreams and goals match because we designed them that way. We’re supposed to be a team. I’m not stopping until we’re a team again. So are you going to try? Or am I going to have to drag you both kicking and screaming?” She leveled them with a hard glare.
After many awkward glances and false starts, Izuku spoke first. “You still want to be a team?”
She scoffed. “I wanted us to be a team even when you were quirkless. Sure, you’d have taken a different role, but at least we’d be together.”
“Fuckin’ psycho. Clearly All Might’s grooming him to be a strong solo hero.”
“Right, and that’s gone so well for society. Now villains are organizing and we’re in deep shit for depending on him so much. Besides, are you really gonna let this self-sacrificial idiot fight by himself? Because let me tell you, if we’re not an official team, I’m just gonna show up wherever he goes to make sure he doesn’t do something stupid.” Katsuki snorted at that. “I’d rather be a team though. A strong hero team, all three of us symbols in our own right. Hope, Strength, and Victory—Stronghold, Aftershock, and Ground Zero.”
“It’s Last Stand, you motherfucker!” Katsuki barked, leaping to his feet.
“Who’s Last Stand?” Deku asked, a little dazed and confused, and therefore a little slow.
“No one. Your hero name is Stronghold. Kacchan is being overruled.”
“My hero name is Deku.”
“Not anymore. Keep up.” She replied, snapping her fingers for emphasis. “Look you were worried about a theme, right?” She asked Katsuki. “That’s why you wanted Last Stand?”
“That’s what I fuckin said, isn’t it?”
“So the name I chose fits a theme? Not the conceptual names and syllable matching—it’s the metaphor! Zuku’s the bunker, you’re the bomb, I’m the post-explosion shockwave. Stronghold, Ground Zero, and Aftershock! I put a lot of thought into this!”
Katsuki scowled at her mulishly. “Don’t I get a say?” Izuku asked hesitantly.
“If you go with Deku, Kacchan’s going with King Explosion Murder. So, no. We choose each other’s names. You and Kacchan chose mine, you and I chose his. Now we get to choose yours.”
“Neither of us agreed to be a team, dumbass. Let him choose whatever shitty name he wants.” Katsuki growled, throwing himself back into his chair. “Eat your fucking curry, Deku. We risked our fucking infirmary privileges to get that in here.”
Deku had slipped into overthinking mode, and so he dociley began eating on autopilot. He wasn’t so tuned out that he didn’t notice the conversation awkwardly picking back up. He even chimed in every now and then, but his gears were turning and they were churning new information into new conclusions at a dizzying pace.
Sana had transferred to UA, and had forced Kacchan to actually talk to him within ten hours of her first class. Kacchan wasn’t mad because of pride or ego damage, or even because he didn’t want to be near someone who was quirkless. He was mad because he was worried and was bad at expressing himself. Kacchan wanted him to be more careful. To take more precaution—both when he was quirkless and now that he had One For All. And, knowing how hard Kacchan had worked to gain control of his quirk, it had probably driven him crazy to see him acting so recklessly and expecting to catch up quickly. Kacchan had thought of a hero name for him. That meant that Kacchan believed in him. Izuku had thought that Kacchan hadn’t even wanted him to try. He thought that Kacchan believed he was useless without a quirk. Hell, he’d believed it, so why wouldn’t someone as amazing as Kacchan?
A knock came at the door.
“Young Midoriya?"

MHA:NC chapter 2
Chapter 2: Unfriendly reunion,
Hey, Guys, it's me Izuku Midoriya. I am here to once again tell you about how i became the world's greatest hero. Our tale today starts with Ochaco and I are going to the Hero registry building.
"You have all your paperwork?" She asked.
"Yep, it's all right here," I hold up the papers in question. We make our way into the building, the line was all the way to the front door of the building. "Oh man, we are going to be here all day." I wine.
"It's not that bad last week it was out the door and around the corner," Ochaco says with a cute smile. She has always been like this she never sees the glass half empty.
"Ya, i guess your right."
"When I came to register it's was a lot shorter i wound if someone famous is coming to town so all the heroes are redoing their licenses," she says looking around a man. I decided i wanted to know what was going on so i typed the guy on the shoulder.
"Sir, could you tell me what's going on today?"
The man turned around and looked at me. He was 6'3 and head red hear. "Oh you don't know The hero of Peace is back in Tokyo and everyone wants to be his sidekick. So we are all getting our Licenses."
"All Might cant be here?" I say with a very puzzled look.
"Not All Might silly man. The new hero of Peace."
"Deku?" Ochaco says looking at me.
"Ya that's him he is back in Tokyo," He says and turns back around. Ochaco and I walk outside and I pull her into one of the back alleys.
"What are you doing your going to lose your place in line?" Ochaco say
"Oh, you're going to love this." I replay and tape the face of my watch with two fingers. Out of the watch starts to creep a way of green, slow at first and then faster tell they covered my whole body. Once they were done my hero suit was formed on me. "They want to see Deku I will give him to them," I say as i pull on my hood and mask.
"What was that?" Ochoco asks.
"That is my nano suit. Melissa made it for me. It's a whole bunch of little robots that form into my suit. They also help my body to control my quirk." I explain. Ochaco just looked at me with shock. "Now all I need to do is just walk in there and they will let me into the front of the line."
"You can't use your Hero fame to get what you want." Ochaco ticked at me.
It would have been so easy to walk in there and get what I want but I had that little voice in my head going off right after she said that. ~Young Midoriya you know this is wrong and should not do it.~ Yes, the voice in my head is All Might don't judge me. However, they were both right I touched the top of my glove were my watch and the suit returned back into the watch. "Let's get back in line," I say and we walk back to the line. An hour and a half later I was once again registered to work in Japan.
Later that night I was standing on top of one of the buildings in town in my super-suit. Looking over the city. When the sound of an explosion came from behind me. I turned around to see Bakugo in full hero suit flying up from the ground. I have not seen him since I left and we are still not on the best of terms.
"So it's true the damn nerd is back in town!" Bakugo shouts walking over and getting in my face.
"Hello, Kacchan."
"Don't you call me that. I am King Explosion now!"
"Whatever, What do you want!" I snap back
"What you say I will kill you!" He barks
"I am not scared of you Kacchan I have not been for years now. I don't care if you are the number 8 hero."
"Deku you piece of shit." He grabs a fist full of my shirt and raises his other had to attack with an explosion.
I quickly turn on my quirk. ~One for All Full cowling~ I then rip his hand off my shirt and drop-down sweep kicking his legs. Bakugo hits the ground hard and with a shocked look. I then backflip and get to my feet standing ready for a fight. Bakugo uses his quirk to plaster himself up and runs at me full speed. Using my own quirk i rased behind him at blinding speed and tapped him on the shoulders. "What the hell!" He shouts and spends around at me.
I quickly send a right jab into his stomach. "Detroit Smash 5%" Bakugo stumbles back grasping at his stomach. "I already told you I am not scared of you and I am not that same little kid I was back in high school." I stand ready to fight more.
"You're still a nerd!" he snaps standing up straight. The fight was over so i turned off One for all and let out a sigh of relief. Bakugo walks over and light punches my shoulder. "You are a lot more powerful nerd but you still are not going to beat me to the top hero spot I just want you to know that. Oh, and I let you win." He adds I just smirk and nod my head. To call out Kacchon would be a waste of time. "Watch your back nerd we are not done by a long shot," Bakugo says and Jump off the roof.
As soon as Kacchon was out of site a scream ring out form the park. Turning on One for all i dashed to the park at blinding speeds. Once there I find a man mugging a woman with a small boy. "Hold It right there!" I shout and the Man spends and looks at me
"Get lost Hero... hold on you're." the man steamers
"Mom it's Deku!" He shouts out in excitement.
I just smirk under my mask and wink at the kid and then turn my eyes back at the Man. Right as I did an explosion sent the man flying. The woman gasps in shock as Kacchon comes to stand next to me. "Kac... King Explosion, what are you doing here?"
"You talk too much Nerd," Bakugo says and runs to where the man would have landed.
"You two get home now ok We will deal with him." I nod at the two and take off to were Kacchon was headed. Once I got there Kacchon had pined the man to a try and had his left hand ready to hit the guy with a nothing explosion. "King Explosion that's enough he is done!" I shout
"Don't tell me how to Hero you damn nerd."
"What your doing is not hero work."
"Shut up!" Bakugo shouts and swings his hand down at the man's face. I kick on One for all and sweep kick Kacchon and then pull a pair of cuffs out of my belt and cuff the guy. All before Kacchon has even hit the ground. Slow he looks up at me with a look of total hatred. "You Lission here Deku I don't care if you are the Hero of peace. You ever do that again I will kill you!"
"Now that's the Kac.. King Explosion, I know"
Kacchon turned his back to me "Whatever, Just stary out of my way." He says and storms off.
"You two seem like besties." the perp says
"Oh shut up and move it," I say and push the perp. Once out of the park I was able to find a police officer and hand the perp over to him.
I mean what a crazy way to start off December. My High school rival is still out to beat me. If I only know that was the easy part of the trials to come I would have not been so easy to dismiss them. For there was a new threat lurking in the darkness one I was not ready for.

[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Call Me... Deku by AnimeFanGirl2223 ( E | 33,523+ | 13/? )
Midoriya had enough of being insulted, being told no, being called quirkless. It was too much and he decided on a much darker path. BakuDeku; Angst to the max.
Or
A lone figure watched from a distance as Bakugo prostrated himself, hidden ominously behind the trunk of a large willow tree. He tilted his head to the side, finding the sight strange, but intriguing all the same. He knew the blonde would stay there for a while longer.
Katsuki always stayed until 8:56 every Friday night. It would seem odd to everyone else, but to those who knew what had happened, it made complete sense. Izuku Midoriya jumped off the roof of his middle school at 6:15 PM on a Friday and was pronounced dead at 8:56 just a week later, his broken body losing the battle against its injuries.
“Deku… the Master is wanting to speak with you.” A voice whispered.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
You shattered me, They saved me by ASLlover23 ( E | 8,748+ | 8/? )
Izuku Midoriya was a quirkless boy but he never let that get in the way of his dreams, even when Kacchan beat him and told him it was impossible to become a hero he never gave up. Until the day his hero, his idol All Might crushed him, he felt something in him break the day All Might told him he could never be a hero without a quirk. Good thing Tomura was there to help pick up the pieces, he’d make All Might regret the day he shattered the quirkless boy.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
brutality runs in our blood by 3rdgymbros ( T | 1,527 | 1/1 )
“New kids to babysit.” Izuku drawls out lazily, dropping a quick kiss onto Bakugou’s mouth. “Play nice with them, won’t you, Kacchan?”
Game of Survival by odasaku (jemtessa) ( T | 11,160+ | 6/? )
“Today marks ten years since elementary school boy, Midoriya Izuku, disappeared.”
10 years ago Katsuki’s childhood friend Midoriya Izuku went missing after school one day, there has been no word on his friend since that day. Not until Katsuki and the rest of Class 1-A with the addition of Class 1-B go on a school trip for training camp in which the two of them are reunited…
the only problem Midoriya Izuku is a villain.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Tied Up With Strings by Penkindisbestspecibus ( M | 19,330+ | 4/?)
The legend of the ‘Red String of Fate’ is such that lovers who are destined to be together are bound by a single red string, and this string will inexorably draw them closer together until they fall in love. A romantic, wishful sort of myth.
Bakugou Katsuki has no idea what it is that seems to bind him to Midoriya Izuku, but if he had to put a name on it, he’d probably call it the ‘Black String of Hate’.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Marked as Claimed by Shadowolven ( E | 15,705+ | 4/? )
His pills weren’t working.
Shit. Fuck!
His pills weren’t working.
But the realization came far too late for Katsuki Bakugou.
[Series]Izuku, Don't listen to Deku by Sleepy_Princess_Jade ( Not Rated | 12,923+ | 1 Work | WIP )
no hell had ever burned so sweet by 3rdgymbros ( T | 1,913 | 1/1 )
“But Kacchan, saving people is what heroes do. And I’m not a hero. Neither are you. We abandoned that title a long time ago, remember?”
Criminal by Aniimone ( M | 22,139 | 20/20 )
Izuku gave up on becoming a hero in middle school. It was after his mom died from an expensive but curable disease that he came to the realization that those who are strong enough to play by the rules are the only ones who can. The rest have to break them just to survive, and quirkless Izuku definitely doesn’t fit into the first category.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
oh, the skies (tumbling from your eyes) by ideation ( E | 6,425 | 1/1 )
Everything is a whirl of sensation and conflicting emotions and words that make both no sense and too much all at once, but despite the overload there is one undeniable truth that sticks, that tastes like bile in the back of his throat and fills his lungs like water until he thinks he’ll never again know what it is to breathe, and it is this: Midoriya Izuku loves him, and this is the result.
[Series] You can turn back time but you can't forget the things you've lost along the way by Aniimone ( T | 26,343+ | 2 Works | WIP )
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence | Major Character Death]
The Past is Long Past Dead by Unoutan ( M | 5,736+ | 1/? )
Bakugou Katsuki hasn’t seen Midoriya Izuku since they were thirteen. Midoriya has been classified as missing ever since, All Might’s public admittance of failure before retiring his cloak to Togata Mirio. Thirteen years later, Pro-Hero Bakugou stumbles upon a familiar face in the Red Light District of Tokyo Nightlight during his patrols…
“D…Deku?”
“Eh? K-Kacch-” Slapping both hands over his mouth, Midoriya Izuku, with the same stupid wide green eyes looked at him.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Walking the Line by StormyChaos, TheatricalPlacenta ( M | 24,024+ | 3/? )
Izuku had been changing, though as it would seem, Katsuki was the only one to notice. It might have had something to do with the fact Izuku never acted differently around anyone but Katsuki, but this year… their senior year, it only seemed to get worse.
Like every mask, when worn constantly, it begins to erode… worn and torn, cracking under the pressure…
Izuku never thought he’d slip, but there he was, his heart walking the fine line between justice and villainy, unsure of just who he was… or what he’d become.
No matter what, one thing was for sure; Katsuki burned deep inside his core.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
[Series] as we both come undone by Amber_Flicker ( T | 2,692+ | 2 Works | WIP )
Innocence ( E | 3,372+ | 5/? )
He won’t cry. If they saw his tears, they’d call him weak. He isn’t weak. Yet, the tears still fall. Just as he thought, everyone laughs harder. Everyone except Kacchan.
No matter how much he yells that he hates Deku, he doesn’t. He genuinely cares about him, and seeing Deku look like shit is bringing out some weird protective side in him.

On the Clock by battle_goats ( M | 1,068 | 1/1 )
His clothing was so nondescript, anyone who didn’t know better would assume the young man was a civilian. But no, he was a villain. Katsuki’s villain. The one he’d created, however unintentional. His Deku.

Our Path Set On Stone by MaiaMizuhara ( T | 5,214 | 1/1 )
“What are you watching?”
The green haired boy just barely turned his head towards the direction of the voice, “They are talking about us, check it out.”
The headlines were “The Villain Duo ‘Deku and Ground Zero’ Make an Appearance Again!” The same video clip was being replayed through the whole program; both villains had their backs to the camera and were running away from a hero who was following them.
“Those pathetic asswipes will never get us,” Katsuki commented and smirked.
His partner grinned and turned around, walking away from the screen in the middle of the street.
Nobody notices as they disappear through the mass of oblivious people.

The Caged Bird by Daiako (Achrya) ( E | 5,863 | 1/1 )
Some people are wound too tight to ever let go of control, even when it comes to their fantasies. Katsuki is one of those people. “I told you.” The demon purred. “I built this just for you. I’ve been watching you, learning everything about you, how your power works, your weaknesses, your strengths. How to keep you contained in there.” He twisted his wrist and a book appeared in his hand, palm sized and leather bound. The demon clutched it to to their chest, eyes starry. “How you sleep, what you like to eat, how to groom your wings and take care of you. I made sure I’d be able to keep you safe and happy, Kacchan.”
Kacchan. The named sparked something in his brain, stilled the hand he was about to thrust through the bars to grab the giggling demon asshole in favor of looking him over again, trying to find something he knew in that soft, shadowed face. “Do I know you?”

How to be a Hero by violet569 ( T | 7,114+ | 5/? )
Izuku Midoriya was not the person he wanted to be.
He wanted to be a hero.
A reality check from the person he looked up to most, his idol, his hero, told him that he never could be.
"Say," the figure standing before him started, his red eyes gleaming through the fingers of the detached hand on his face. "How would you like to join me in taking down the heroes, once and for all?”

Day 6: Rain/Stargazing - Dance With the Devil by a_genderfluid_otter ( G | 3,114 | 1/1 )
Midoriya Izuku vanished off of the face of the earth five years prior, but suddenly Katsuki is seeing ghosts in the most unlikely of places.
---
At a certain point, Katsuki couldn’t be hallucinating anymore, could he? It was more than just the snippets of dark green hair in a crowd, of fair skin, of catching his laughter in the air and it’d been that way for weeks now--Katsuki looked up to see green eyes beneath an otherwise plain black masquerade mask meeting his, lips splayed into a gentle, kind smile. To see it five years ago would have been ordinary--to see it now was the dead walking again.

Remember Me? by HG_Wells ( T | 7,719+ | 2/? )
The day after enrolling at UA, Izuku Midoriya is kidnapped off the streets. He was brainwashed to think he has always been a villain and the ways of the villains are correct, especially about the unyielding hatred of All Might. But in the back of his mind only very faint echo's of the only name he's called, Deku, fill his head, along with the vision of ash blonde hair and deep red eyes.
Seiza by The_Queen_Of_Angst ( Not Rated | 18,979+ | 3/? )
Midoriya Izuku wants nothing more than to fade away into the dark abyss that is the universe. He wants nothing more than to feel his soul become one with the kaleidoscopic mauve, mulberry, and mangenta that peppers and swirls amongst the gleaming constellations above. When he finally snaps and takes matters into his own hands, his fate is saved (or perhaps soiled furthermore) by a peculiar sapphire-haired man.

Bakugou and Midoriya clean up after their fight. Sometimes asking for help is all you have.
i've got your number by blossomshed  ( T | 3,518 | 1/? )
Every time he deletes whatsapp it shows back up on his phone, so Bakugou might as well read the messages from his idiot 'friends'.
Alternatively: a picture is worth a thousand words. So is your chat history.
And In His Eyes, A Galaxy by Penkindisbestspecibus ( M | 82,443+| 18/? )
Midoriya Inko attracts small objects. Midoriya Hisashi breathes fire.
Midoriya Izuku is full of stars.
[Graphic Depictions of Violence]
Skip the charades by ficklish  ( G | 1,314 | 1/1 )
In the aftermath of an all out war between the heroes and the villain association, Izuku’s badly injured. And Katsuki’s fucking furious.
Hear Me by my_name_is_Levi  ( G | 22,419 | 5/5 )
It wasn’t as if nightmares were uncommon for the freshman class of Yuuei. They’d seen plenty of things, heard and felt and witnessed enough travesty in their lives to last them a lifetime. But Midoriya Izuku was screaming, and no one, not even Bakugo Katsuki could ignore it.
These Days Past by nivo  ( T | 2,136 | 1/1 )
He's had some weird dreams in his life thanks to what his mom calls a 'highly creative mind' — known to the rest of the world, courtesy of Kacchan, as his 'freaky nerdiness' — but this one is totally kicking his ass.
[Series] Ocean's Boy by Cue2You2  ( G | 52,673+ | 2 Works | On Hiatus )
Impressions by gemteddy  ( T | 5,430+ | 4/? )
Sometimes Class 1-A forgets how long Midoriya and Bakugou have really known each other. Sometimes they get reminders.
put a bullet (where I should've put a helmet) by canlah  ( T | 10,364 | 3/3 )
It isn't until Izuku reaches his breaking point that he realises he doesn't have to carry this pain by himself.
[Graphic Depictions of Violence]
numb by BlackSclera  ( T | 2,387 | 1/1 )
“What do you think you’re doing, Deku?” If Izuku didn’t know better, Kacchan actually sounded a little worried.
“Jumping off the roof.”
Bakugou Katsuki Finally Gets His Spiky Head Out of His Ass by TrashcanGod  ( T | 876 | 1/1 )
It seems like Katsuki is ready to try playing nice, and a resurrected childhood film is the perfect conversation starter.
The Start of a Beautiful... Something by Kouen_chan  ( T | 1,351 |  1/1 )
As long as Katsuki remembered, there was always that one house in the neighborhood that seemed empty, but every once in a while, there would be movement visible through a window. Occasionally, kids in the neighborhood would dare each other to knock on the door or something. He never expected to meet the occupant who's shadow never changed. Until one day, he did.
In which one Bakugou Katsuki meets and (sort of) befriends a recluse with a bunch of secrets and an unknown mission.
The School Adventures of Bunny Izuku by Lunar_Muffin  ( T | 5,256+ | 6/? )
When Bakugou Katsuki’s quirk manifested, everyone told him how amazing it was and how he would make a great hero. And when the other kids started asking why he was still hanging out with quirkless Izuku, he felt a bit self-conscious. But hell would freeze over before he would abandon his best friend because some side characters looked down on him. And when Izuku’s quirk finally showed itself, he looked all those assholes in the eyes with a big, shit-eating grin on his face. They would become the best heroes ever, together.
Or, Izuku suddenly grows bunny ears of the lop variety complete with a tail. Follow Katsuki and him through snapshots of their elementary and middle school experiences.
Paradoxical Alternative by ThatPersonWhoExists  ( G | 17,204+ | 7/? )
❛Izuku was dead in this universe.
Or at least to everyone in his surroundings, to Katsuki Bakugou, Izuku Midoriya was well-- however he couldn't quite say alive as the boy really wasn't.❜❜

Or, Katsuki is a whiny bitch when he's sick, and Izuku pulls a Mitsuki and handles him.
New Friends & Wasabi Pancakes by rainbowtourmaline  ( T | 1,107 | 1/1 )
Katsuki fucking Bakugou and Izuku fucking Midoriya were now fucking friends again.
Don’t fucking ask Katsuki how it happened because fuck if he knows.
“Happy birthday Kacchan!” but he was starting to regret the decision of letting Izuku go from useless pebble in the road to his kind-of-sort-of friend when the other dude just waltzed into his room at 7:00 fucking AM in the morning, his smile shining as brightly as the God damn sun that was burning Katsuki’s retinas right now because Izuku just had to fling the curtains open!
Honestly, what kind of sick torture was this?!

Learn to Levitate (With Just A Little Help) by Heronfem  ( T | 2,201 | 1/1)

sometimes I trip over our history by yunnings (ladylolli)  ( T | 1,205 | 1/1 )
The Worst Wonder Duo. What a load of bull for endorsing dependency. Bakugou hates it, but he hates losing more. “Save your pep talk,” Bakugou growls, but his eyes threaten Midoriya not to screw both of them up. Or you’ll die twice, Deku.

A sparring match might just be the thing that brings them closer together. A Bakudeku Secret Santa for Merle.
[Series] Beat of a butterfly's wing by theladystrikesagain   ( Not Rated | 26,278+ | 6 Works | WIP )
"Adversity makes us stronger" is a lie people tell themselves to make their lives easier to stomach, Izuku thinks. Because if they didn't, and if they acknowledged that the life they suffered through was just another cog in the messed up machine known as life, any rational person would lose their mind.
All adversity does is make you brittle, and hard, and, when pushed in a certain way, oh-so-easy to break.
Surprise! by Earl_White_of_Mornings  ( Not Rated | 890 | 1/1 )
Deku surprises Katsuki with a visit after two years.
This is literally just a corny little reconnection fic. I don't know if it will get a second part but if it does it will be a series of one-shots.
Photosynthetic by PigeonsAndPlants  ( T | 3,865+ | 3/? )
If one was to describe Midoriya Izuku, a word most likely used would be “green.” Everything about him is green. Dark green hair that softly shines in the sunlight, emerald green eyes that glow with an intelligence not usual for a four year old.
After his quirk manifested, “green” became necessary for describing Midoriya Izuku
Cold Solitude by ukiinas  ( G | 693 | 1/1  )
He thought of the time they’d spent together when they were kids, laughing and holding hands like nothing else mattered in the world. Now Izuku’s hands were tattered and grotesque, and couldn’t even reach him anymore.
Progress, or something. by The_Potatoe  ( T | 2,000 | 1/1 )
Izuku has a bad dream.
Katsuki helps.
Teach Me How to PokeGo by tsunayoshi  ( T | 780 | 1/1 )

By A Thread by ploThief  ( T | 1,189 | 1/1 )
Two new strings are formed, crafted and appearing close in what humans call time. One is a burnt orange. The other, dark green. They move parallel to one another, playfully weaving and stitching a picture of friendship.
[ Graphic Depictions of Violence ]

It's been years after high school ended, and Bakugou's finally ready to apologize. Even if Midoriya doesn't hold their past against him.
Rocky Roads and Movie Nights by AshesStarsAndRedStringsOfFate  ( T | 1,471 | 1/1 )
After everything that has happened between them, can Katsuki and Deku ever reconcile their friendship? Maybe, with the help of the rest of Class 1-A. Birthday fic for a friend! Love you, Taba!! Rated for Bakugou's mouth (I mean, there's not that much, but better to be safe, right?)
That Day in the Forest by luchijelly  ( G | 1,334 | 1/1 )
"I’ll catch up to you someday Kacchan. I know I will!"
Maybe by sunsetsundae  ( T | 1,453 | 1/1 )
Maybe Katsuki liked pushing Izuku around. Maybe he liked to be forceful and rude. Or maybe he was just having a really, really hard time coming to terms with his feelings.
Snapshots by The_Potatoe  ( T | 1,700 | 1/1 )
Izuku and Katsuki, over the years.
That one time midoriya got to make some kids happy by Alphanon  ( Not Rated | 1,121 | 1/1 )

Bakugou hits Midoriya's favorite lucky ball over the school fence. Though dangers may lurk beyond, Bakugou braves them to get it back.

A Challenger Appears by MariaMediaOverThere ( T | 9,467 | 3/3 )
“Oh, so is Midoriya really seeking a relationship like that then?” And for the first time, there’s a crack in Kota’s impassive stance. Vulnerability. But also a glimmer of something excited- hopeful.
“I don’t give a shit, but if Deku were, hypothetically, looking for a relationship,” and Bakugou would be the first to know if he was, as well as the first to line up, and also suspiciously the only one alive in line. “He definitely wouldn’t be trying anything with some shitty high schooler.” Bakugou sneers, not even attempting to mask the distaste in his tone.
“So stick your obvious fanboy crush up someone else’s ass, okay?”
The kid seems to consider this at first before looking Bakugou dead in the eyes, “Well in ten years when your pro hero injuries are forcing you into retirement, this shitty high schooler will have graduated med school and then it will be you versus a hot young doctor with a stable income.”
With an air of finality, Kota shoulder-checks Bakugou while carefully holding the coveted Deku figurine in his possession.
“…Bitch.”
Summer Camp From Hell by LocalTrashBin ( T | 66,875 | 15/15 )
A fight breaks out between Izuku and Katsuki, it’s the straw that breaks the camels back and the two are forced between the option of working in a summer camp together or expulsion.
Let’s just say it goes just about as terribly as you’d expect.
A Nest for the Best by Camellia_Sinensis ( T | 1,007 | 1/1 )
Deku’s been nesting and asking everyone in 1-A for pieces of clothing for his horde. Everyone, that is, except Katsuki. Cue the jealousy.
SeriesPart 1 of Dorks in Love (oneshots)
Capture the Deku! by MimiPancake ( T | 4,343 | 1/1 )
Bakugou and Todoroki fight for the attention and affection of Class 1-A’s cinnamon roll. Maybe this hero exercise can finally end their rivalry and confess to Midoriya
“DEKU SHOULD BE GAY FOR ME AND ME ONLY"
Stay away from him, he’s mine! by AShippingAddict ( E | 12,143+ | 4/10 )
Bakugou Katsuki knew Valentine’s Day was just a day where everyone went crazy trying to make love happen. He didn’t care for it. He especially didn’t care that everyone seemed to want Deku. He didn’t care. It didn’t matter that people were starting to invade Deku’s space. Or that people kept touching him. He did NOT care, not one bit.
Or people flirt with Midoriya Izuku and Bakugou nearly kills someone because he’s jealous.
Mistaken Identity by SasuNaru22 ( E | 23,829+ | 10/? )
Midoriya Izuku, has a sort of small (big) crush on Todoroki Shouto. He doesn’t quite know how to approach him though, so he sends him a text instead. In response, he’s told to do a series of tasks to prove how serious he is about a possible relationship. Everything seems to be going well until suddenly it isn’t. Who the heck has he really been talking to???
Two Sides of the Same Coin by LocalTrashBin ( T | 72,630+ | 9/? )
Dangerous missions across the continent are one thing but dangerous missions across the continent with zero experience, a cursed bracelet and accompanied only by a difficult, hot-headed protector is a whole other story.
Cozy Onsen Confessions by Unoutan ( M | 7,225 | 1/1 )
It’s the second training camp of their second year and it’s in the forests, the mountains area again. It’s not the same place, but Katsuki is closing into himself again…biting at people, even the one who expressed their love and care for him. Izuku reminds his Kacchan that he’s there for him.
(Warning manga spoilers for anime only folks!!!)

Arranged by amiluna ( Not Rated | 22,200 | 15/15 )
Izuku knows as a quirkless he will be married off soon…he had hoped it would be to someone he wanted, but then life always messes with him like that. Add in the childhood friend he forgot and you have one hell of a mess for the boy who just wants to decide for himself for once.
Heart-Shaped Distractions by DMMegsie ( T | 3,070 | 1/1 )
To Bakugou Katsuki, Valentine’s day was a waste of time.
Giving people an excuse to be all lovey dovey in public, wasting money on things that would long be forgotten in the weeks to come.
That was, until he entered his second year classroom to see the eyesore around him.
Yūrei no Eiyū by FandomManiac22 ( T | 4,318+ | 2/? )
“If you wanna be a hero that badly, there’s a quick way to do it. Believe that you’ll be born with a quirk in your next life and take a swan dive off the roof!”
When Katsuki’s comment comes at just the wrong time, Izuku takes his advice. But it is not the end.
Alternatively:In another world where Izuku is attacked by the sludge villain on the way to school instead of after it, his dreams get crushed too soon. With nothing to save him and Katsuki’s words ringing in his ears, Izuku decides to end it all by jumping off his school’s roof. As his body cracks on the ground, Izuku does not pass on to the next world. Instead, he is left as a ghost among many others. When the slime villain escapes from jail and attacks the person Izuku can’t help but care for, he learns that there may be more to his afterlife than he thought.
And maybe he can be a hero after all.

“Well? I’m listening,” he said coldly.“You have to tell me what’s wrong, Kacchan. I-I really don’t know what I’m supposed to do. What happened?”“You even have the nerves to ask, you fucking bastard?” yelled Katsuki[…]
Katsuki founds himself dealing with jealousy and has an argument with Izuku, making things awkward and difficult between them.
SeriesPart 3 of The ride of two Rising suns
We Could Always Be Gigantic by sugarby ( T | 7,143 | 1/1 )
Bakugou’s thick, firm hands slide down his face as shame and humiliation mercilessly shower him again. He hates Izuku for doing this to him, for making him feel like absolute shit; the little nerd should feel so lucky to be noticed by someone stronger and better but when the anger settles, Bakugou still loves him. (a.k.a. Bakugou is coerced in to going camping with a few classmates from Yuuei and hears Izuku, who rejected him, won’t be going. Next, Izuku shows up asking for a lift there).
[On Hiatus] Your Only One by iKrazybear ( Not Rated | 14,528+ | 8/? )

Anyways, How Long is Your Dick? by Lololsuckadick ( M | 988+ | 1/? )
I read the text on the website, it was a paragraph on Craigslist about how some dude was in need of a roommate to share the bill with.
Oh god, he also wants his roommate to be his fuck buddy too.
OR
Izuku wants a roommate and a fuck buddy, and guess what? Bakugou seems up to it, expect he doesn’t know it’s Izuku, of course.
[Rape/Non-Con]
(Note: I tried to find out if the Rape warning is between Bakugou and Deku, but there wasn’t any information on it.)
We’re Going To Be Victorious by setsujoumayu ( T | 10,875+ | 4/? )
And by we, I mean Yaoyorozu Momo and Jirou Kyouka OR Bakugou Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku!
Oh wait. That’s not how competitions work, huh?
Actually, how does a “who is the best girlfriend/boyfriend to their girlfriend/boyfriend” competition work anyway?
(In other words, Jirou challenges Bakugou’s assumed title of best partner to his partner in Class 1-A because she can. And maybe because she really, really, really likes Yaoyorozu and wants to impress her BUT DON’T TELL YAOYOROZU THAT OKAY.)
A New Hero’s Legend by RenegadeZer0 ( T | 12,349+ | 2/40 )
Two days ago, he was an ordinary boy. Today, he was being offered a chance to save the kingdom. He did say he was ready to be a hero. It was a lot to undertake, but at least he wouldn’t have to do it alone.

Everyone has a surface reputation to uphold — from regular people, to pro-heroes. It’s all about looking past that surface to see what’s beneath, but if you look a little too long, it might get you into trouble you can’t get out of. Izuku Midoriya has to learn this the hard way.
Alternatively, the “Imagine Me and You,” AU nobody else has written for BakuDeku yet. Fic and chapter titles taken from Taylor Swift’s album “Reputation,” which has easily proven to be the album of my life for 2018.

Remember when everyone went off to get training from different agencies? Well in this fic, Gran Torino takes Izuku (and one other mystery person) with him to New York City for mostly combat training and learning the ropes of the world beyond theirs, but some feelings have been aroused by this… How will our precious Deku react to these newly awakened thoughts about our mystery person, and does he feel the same?

Born in Dreams, Forged In Blood - Chapter 2
Rated: M (largely for profanity)
Summary: Katsuki Bakugo was not a good communicator. To be fair, neither was Izuku Midoriya. Looking back on their dumpster fire of a friendship, communication was probably the most significant missing piece in their interpersonal puzzle. Luckily, their translator is back in town, and they're about to take UA by storm.
Chapter 2 summary: Miscommunication and repressed emotions are for losers. It's time to get it all out in the open.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I’m gonna give Sana a tour of the dorms.” Katsuki barked at the end of the day.
“She’s impressive, but she’s nosy, and she gets really territorial about Deku.
You help each other get stronger, work out problems together, just spend some fucking time together,—“
He had a quirk, and he let me have a fucking heart attack every time he pulled some crazy self-sacrificing stunt.”
“He said he was a super-late bloomer. Maybe it was triggered during the sludge villain attack? That’s when he started getting cagey with me, at least.”
“That’s not it,” Katsuki muttered.
He gave her a perfunctory tour and ended up in the kitchen making food while he told her about their classmates.
“So…we like Kirishima, Kaminari, Ashido, Jirou, and Sero actively. We like Ojiro, Koda, Tokoyami, Yaoyorozu, Hagakure, Sato, and Todoroki passively. We don’t really “get” Sparkles or Tentacles. We aren’t sure about Frog Face, we dislike but respect Kirby and Four-Eyes, and fuckin' hate Mineta.
“Exactly. That’s fuckin' perfect.”
“Kacchan.”
I’m pretty sure it’s a leftover habit from playing too many first-person shooters, but really.”
“Leave it alone,” Katsuki muttered, already walking into Izuku’s room.
That’s the territory. Seriously, I didn’t even get that badly hurt. All of my injuries came from my own quirk.”
He already operated at a baseline anxiety level of 60%, so now it looked like he was going to vibrate out of his skin.
Come on, what the fuck?” Sana groaned.
“What the hell are you talkin' about, Deku?”
“If I’d gotten to you sooner—if I hadn’t broken my arms, if I’d been able to reach you before Kurogiri—“
“I told you not to follow me! I told you to stay back. You know why I’ve been so pissed at you Deku? It’s 'cause you’re fuckin' stupid. You keep getting yourself into shitty situations that you can’t handle. It wouldn’t have made anything better if we’d both died.”
“Kacchan—“
“No. Fuck no. I said we’d talk about it later, but it’s not like Sana doesn’t know what’s been going on. I didn’t want you hanging around me because you kept getting hurt and it drove me fuckin' nuts. Sure you don’t need a quirk to be a hero, but you need to fuckin' train or something!
“Okay, this conversation is set up to go in a really aggravating circle.
“Well, I know that now!”
Because let me tell you, if we’re not an official team, I’m just gonna show up wherever he goes to make sure he doesn’t do something idiotic.” Katsuki snorted at that.
“That’s what I fuckin' said, isn’t it?”
“So the name I chose fits a theme!
Deku had slipped into overthinking mode, and so he docilely began eating on autopilot. He wasn’t so tuned out that he didn’t notice the conversation awkwardly picking back up. He even chimed in every now and then, but his gears were turning and they were churning new information into new conclusions at a dizzying pace.
Sana had transferred to UA and had forced Kacchan to actually talk to him within ten hours of her first class. Kacchan had though of a hero name for him.
