Hey guys! I have a Dungeon Meshi server!
It's very small at the moment, but I'd love to have more people join so we can talk about the manga and enjoy the anime together while it's airing!
Some notes on the server itself:
It's safe for anime-onlys; there are separate channel categories for those who are fully caught up on the manga and roles that will keep people out of spoiler-heavy channels.
It's meant to be a pleasant space for people to discuss things they enjoy about dunmeshi, share cool fanworks, and foster creativity. The vibe is meant to be kept positive and friendly, so there are no sort of vent or discourse channels.
All that being said, I really don't want the server to get overly-populated, nor am I interested in moderating a totally public server (scary!), so the link is never going to just be openly shared. If you're interested in joining, though:
Send me a message (NOT anonymous, obviously) asking to join.
PLEASE KNOW I won't be accepting everyone who asks; friends/mutuals/acquaintances and followers I'm at least a little familiar with will get priority.
The server is 18+ only, though I'd say ideally 21+. I'm most comfortable moderating servers for adults. Please don't ask to join if you're under 18.

I’m not gonna lie, as much as I want to interact with fandom blogs and join in on the discussions on my favorite shows and characters, the fact that I might make some of them uncomfortable due to being a self shipper make me anxious and sad.

this might sound mean but. get better at reading. i know literacy education sucks. i understand. it's time to take it upon yourself. get better at reading. if you can't read well you're easy to manipulate first of all, but also on a more interpersonal level if you can't read well and you're doing a significant portion of your socializing through text you're making yourself miserable. it's a skill. seek out resources to help you improve. get better at reading.

I would love to get a formal Autism diagnosis.
I've ruled out BPD, Bipolar 1 and 2, and NPD. I was told repeatedly over the years that I must have one of those three, but I've taken tests, found anecdotes of people who do have those, and found the DMS-5 for all of them. I didn't fit any lf them. I was however diagnosed with ADHD back in 2020 and when I started meds for it, I knew they weren't helping everything. I was told by a sibling that they had thought I might be Autistic and I went from there; looking up the DSM-5, taking tests, and listening to others. Something in me clicked and the more I unmasked and started healing from my childhood trauma, the more my Autistic traits came back to the surface after a whole lifetime of unconscious (and unsuccessful) suppression and feeling off and different and broken.
Now onto why I would love to get a diagnosis but probably won't end up getting one. I am low supports needs/high masking. I'm the person who you would just think I'm quirky, weird, and/or rude at any given time. I'm in my 20s, I no longer get the benefits of insurance paying for an Autism assessment and I have other disabilities that make it hard to work a lot during the week. Also, I'm not going to pay a couple thousand dollars to be told I can't be Autistic because I was a good student in high school, I'm planning to go to college this fall, I have a job, I have more than one friend, etc, instead of looking at plenty of evidence to the contrary.
For my ADHD diagnosis, I had to go behind a previous doctor's back because they insisted I couldn't have it because I had been a good student in high school despite not wanting to hear about the struggles behind those good grades. If that's how it was for an ADHD diagnosis, I can just imagine how hard it is to get an Autism assessment done correctly as an adult. That being said, I don't go around demanding accommodations for something I'm not formally diagnosed with. The only people I told are my Dad (who I live with), my sister (who hangs out here frequently), one of my two friends (so they can understand me better), my therapist (for reasons), and obviously here on Tumblr (I need some form of support group).
I'm self-diagnosed because I was literally falling apart and self-diagnosing has kept me from literally killing myself because i think I'm broken beyond repair.

I think one of the funniest things I remember about Taylor’s tumblr era was the immediate shift when she was online. I’m not talking about self reblogs. The way some of y’all would immediately go from making spicy posts to being full on angels in seconds 😭

fuck it. shout out to "high functioning" neurodivergents
the ones who can mask easily, the ones who can get social cues, the ones who have managed to go most of their life not even knowing they were ND because they didn't present as the stereotypical ND person.
the ones who can pay attention in class, understand social etiquette, who understand societial expectations
the ones who don't feel neurodivergent enough bc they don't struggle in the same ways/areas a lot of NDs do, or they can't relate to other NDs' experiences because they always understood these things easily
the ones with high empathy, the ones who DO get the joke, the ones who are constantly told that they can't possibly be neurodivergent because they don't act like what you'd expect a neurodivergent person to act like.
you are neurodivergent enough. you are valid, and so are your experiences. not struggling as much as others do in some places doesn't mean you dont struggle at all. your condition and diagnosis is valid. your symptoms are valid. YOU ARE VALID. not checking all the supposed boxes doesn't mean you aren't neurodivergent. you are enough. you are valid. you are loved. you are valued. you matter. you belong in neurodivergent spaces, you deserve to use whatever resources are available to you, you are allowed to take up space in these communities. and i am so, so proud of you.
feel free to, and actually, i encourage you to reblog this with your experiences. we belong in this community as much as anyone else. please also tag this w/ any neurodivergent conditions i may have forgotten 💙
since this is getting lots of notes I'd like to add, even if you're undiagnosed or maybe self diagnosed, for whatever reason, (i.e. can't get access to a diagnosis, not being taken seriously, or just not wanting an official diagnosis, etc.) this still applies to you. actually especially to you folks. don't think for a second you're not valid just bc you don't have the paperwork or whatever to say it
