my hand-knit dallas stars blackout jersey (sweater edition) is complete! just in time for game 1 round 1 of their 2024 playoff run 💚

this project was such a labour of love and the pictures above are the culmination of three months of planning, two months of knitting and too many days procrastinating weaving in all the ends 🥲

was mirage's dress in DECT based off any real dresses that may be for sale somewhere. who said that. or is it purely just a product of your own mind. its very pretty

it's a version of a dress I drew her in a year or so before working on DECT, which was in turn based upon a Project DIVA module I like (White Gown) that I misremembered. this outfit exists because I have a shit memory and play rhythm games

#ask #DECT #construction-wise it's an A-line midi dress with a V neck and a sheer panel on the shoulders/back + sort of a longer sheer skirt underneath #with a belt around the hips (not waist. this design choice is purposeful) so one could. very easily sew it from a pattern i think #any relation to Lain or the music video for Strobe Light by Powapowa-P is unintentional (i think) but fits thematically very well #ultrakill #mirage

pretty good all things considered! while they're both married to two sweet guys and have separate families (none of their kids are other td characters, unfortunately...) they're still really close, and still live next to each other at that same beach town they grew up in, now both running that successful 80s themed ice cream business they've been dreaming of! its safe to say they probably suffered the least on Total Drama, only leaving with a couple of minor scars, good god were they lucky..

next stop on my bookbinding journey is the couple down the street by @godlizzza which was one of my greatest most fun reads ever. i wish it could have gone on forever

My headcanon is that Carmy didn’t start to draw again until Sydney came into his life. He didn’t have to draw the menu, he just wanted to. Like he could’ve called her and they could’ve found a kitchen somewhere to do this but he was otherwise occupied…. And from drawing the menu, he was simultaneously drawing the sketches for her jacket 👀

It’s giving Sydney is the muse. She lives literally rent free in that anxious little head.

Trans!Hiccup later in life becoming more confident in himself and coming to terms with the fact knowing how to and doing things traditionally viewed as 'feminine' doesn't make him any less of a man my beloved.

He canonically knows how to sew. Like his attempted cover was he was 'making outfits' so why not? He definitely made his own armor, he probably makes his own clothes when he has the time. He said he wanted to he a 'bread making viking' (and yes i knoe it was a hasty lie but hear me out) so I'd like to think he knows at least how to bake and probably how to cook as well. And he enjoys these things and indulged in them when he's able to.

i sometimes get the impression that a lot of people forget that while our flag means death is a comedy, it does know how to handle trauma well within the narrative. we are shown it over and over with the flashbacks for ed and stede and jim. at no point do they play the real trauma of the situation for laughs, its treated with the weight it deserves, while still being part of a comedy show
