Skeletons in the Closet

Korra and her friends hide in a camp underground until Iroh's fleet arrives; but the fleet is promptly disabled by Equalist mines, aircraft, and torpedoes. Korra saves Iroh from drowning, and they regroup with the others. Korra and Mako go in search of Amon, while Iroh, Bolin and Asami sabotage the Equalist airbase to prevent the sinking of a relief fleet under Commander Bumi, Tenzin's older brother. Korra and Mako discover Tarrlok captive in Air Temple Island, where he apologizes for his treatment of Korra and reveals that Amon is his brother, Noatak, who ran away due to Yakone's mistreatment of his children. Meanwhile, the assault on the Equalists' mountain airbase goes poorly when the attackers fall prey to an electric fence.

The Coronation

At Wu's coronation in Republic City, Kuvira refuses to yield power to him, instead announcing that she will consolidate the territories under her control into a new Earth Empire. This creates a rift between her and the other world leaders including Suyin, as well as between Bolin and Mako, who has to protect the unpopular Wu from angry supporters of Kuvira. Meanwhile, in the banyan swamp, Toph agrees to help Korra regain her strength, though her methodology largely consists of browbeating Korra and beating her up with still formidable earthbending. She finds residual metal poison inside Korra but can't remove it – Korra subconsciously resists, scarred by her previous traumas. Meanwhile, Tenzin sends Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo to search for Korra, and Varrick experiments on spirit vines for Kuvira.

Here's a sneak peek for a future chapter of Skeletons In The Closet.

“It doesn’t matter.” Quinn says in defeat. 

“It does matter.” Noa insisted, voice hard. “What did he take from you?”

Quinn pulled a string from the sleeve of yet another dress Steve had given her to wear. “My kidney. But hey, at least I have one left, so what do I really have to complain about?” She knew compared to the other women who had come before her and after that they lost a lot more than their kidneys. They all eventually died as well, where she got to live. 

“You know you can’t drink alcohol with only one kidney. You also have to have a healthy low-fat diet. Your blood pressure will have to be monitored from now on too.” Noa went on to say and Quinn could tell she must have looked pissed off for her. “You can’t play any contact sports. You can’t do anything to put your remaining kidney at risk. You’re gonna have to play it safe, at what age?”

Quinn cleared her throat. “I’m nineteen now. My birthday was a while back.”

The pang in Noa’s heart grew for the younger girl. “Yeah, all those things you’re gonna have to deal with because he took a kidney from you.”

“Yeah, I know.” Quinn sighed, and then a look of bewilderment crossed her face. Not that Noa would know, she was locked in another room. “Wait, how do you know all this?”

There was silence and then Noa answered with an air of casualness. Well, as much casualness as she could deliver when locked up by some cannibalistic psychopath. 

“Grey’s Anatomy.”

“That’s how I knew, too.” Quinn answered, genuinely smiling again after what felt like forever.
