Being Angels sibling wasn't easy, at least within in the hotel..or outside of it for that matter; but in the hotel it was definitely better, at least everyone didn't try and talk to you about your brother and instead talk to you.

You however had your eyes on someone very specific, a person not many people would have their eyes on..well, Maybe your brother in a— joking fucking around type of way; but your eyes were looking at the Tall Red demon in a very different way; a fond way you weren't all that used to.

Thing is you were the youngest in your family, that didn't rid you of your family's habits and mannerisms, So you weren't surprised when you ended up in hell alongside most of your family but your brother had kept you away from many scenes, that included partners; so your new found feelings for the Demon were overwhelming, suffocatingly so and you had no idea where to go with it, that lead you to go to the only person you trust in this newly found shit hole

"Anthony?"

"what's up, sweet cheeks?"

Angel was still not used to being called by his real name, But it was allowed in private from prying ears; he set fat nuggets down and sat up on the side of the bed; patting a spot next to him gesturing you to sit with him, a familiar smile on his face while you scooted next to him

"what's on your mind?"

"Alastor."

"oh—"

Angel laughed as you covered your face with your hands, His name bluntly slipping past your lips as you cringed at yourself

"he's like the Boogeyman, don't say his name too loud or he'll appearrr"

You smacked his arm and laughed, watching Angel make "scary" gestures as you both giggled amongst one another, before you patted your thighs and dramatically inhaled and sighed

"yeah yeah.. Boy troubles aye? Been there"

"yeah so help me"

"with him, Sweetie I can pray that's it"

"Anthony!!"

"sorry sorry!!"

Your big brother kneeled over laughing as you scoffed at him, crossing your arms with a pout as you cleared Your throat

"ANYWAY, I need help, I have no idea how to approach him— if at all!"

It took the spider demon a bit to compose himself Before he ran his fingers through his hair before looking at you, a sincere genuine look on his face, his voice soft and gentle; just like you remembered

"I don't know mister cheeky Alastor that much, but he does seem to like you, so I'd say go slow; test the waters or he might rip you to shreds"

You tensed, he was right and you were playing a dangerous game trying to woo the radio demon and you knew that but what'd you have to lose?..oh right your life yeah yeah

Falling flat on the soft bed you groaned; Alastor was tricky especially for someone who'd never flirted in their life so this was uncharted territory and you weren't exactly starting on beginner mode, you skipped straight to expert. Angel soon joined you in laying on the bed, him to staring at the ceiling as you pondered and wondered, He was probably zoning out but whatever, but after moments of silence Anthony soon realized this was a heavy topic on your heart so he turned on his side, pulling you to his side; one of his hands ruffling your hair

"worry about that tomorrow will you? You need your beauty sleep; Alastor won't date a slob"

"what won't I do?"

"AAAAHHHHH"

you meet bc seungkwan from statistics invites you to one of sigma lambda tau's frat parties

you are, of course, a little tipsy

so when seungkwan introduces you to his comp sci frat brother wonwoo, you hop at the opportunity to divulge how bad you are at the stat program you’re forced to use

seungkwan, being the lovely wingman he is, is absolutely thrilled to make wonwoo promise to tutor you

to which he responds…”i don’t know if i’ll really be much help but…sure?”

he’s practically blushing and giggling the whole time, partly because you’re fun and hot and partly because wow where are all these compliments coming from

and of course wonwoo is a huge help because he’s a genius and always downplays his talents

and then he asks you out like a gentleman and you start dating and its bliss, obviously

let’s talk about his little habits

he literally never brags about his knowledge

even if he has a huge accomplishment, you will never find out unless there’s some public announcement about it

apparently he won the highest coding competition in your university but you don’t know until you see his face on the front of the fucking university paper?? (seriously, how does he manage to be an active member of a frat, hang out with you, and do all this other shit)

and you text him a photo of it with a question mark

and he just laughs it off like “oh yeah that’s the coding project i told you i had to work on last saturday lol”

you think its because he’s humble but it’s really just because he’s shy when you dote on and compliment him (which is proven when you buy him a little cake and he can barely meet your eyes)

its the same when you visit his room in the frat house for the first time as well

you walk in his room and he’s all ready to watch a movie and play mario kart and, you know, hopefully…get to other things…

and mingyu has fully put his noise cancelling headphones in because wonwoo has been kind enough to warn the person he shares a wall with!

but all mingyu can hear through his headphones is you screaming “what the hell, how are you so damn talented?” upon seeing every plaque, trophy, and certificate he’s won while being in college

and then he reminds you that you have just as many awards for your major and activities

and you merely side eye him for the betrayal of hiding his nerdiness from you

well, he may not brag, but his nerd tendencies are certainly not hidden

this man is not a literature major OR minor but he takes at least one literature class a year because he has the extra credits and he just fucks with reading like that

you know when he’s stolen a book from you to read because any new word that you have highlighted suddenly starts popping up in his vocabulary

also, wonwoo does NOT play about finals season

he always gets to the library much earlier than you, managing to grasp a decent study room

he leaves a little breakfast sandwich in your spot for when you arrive

if you’re going to study with him, you’re going to study, okay?

if you’re talking nonsense and trying to show him tiktoks during the allotted study time he deadass just will not respond to you

if you leave the study room for one singular second he’s taking your phone and hiding it (he will give it back when the pomodoro timer goes off!)

the one concession is when he sees you dozing off and he knows ur trying your hardest to study. but he pats your head and tells you to get a little nap instead of forcing yourself to study

last but not least

you’re very grateful that he’s in a frat

because it means you have a close, nice place to stay when you wanna get silly and drunk and rowdy with his frat bros and all your friends

and the two of you can leave whenever you want (after he makes sure all your friends are safely tucked in their ubers <3) and go up to his room and play, quite possibly, the most fun game of pubg in your life

and his face is flush and his laughs are loud and you smile because he’s in his happy place and he smiles because you’re his happy place

Quackity x reader (any pronouns)

Please send in requests!! I’m aching in my bones for things to write please please please

“I’m not looking for anything right now.”

The words repeated in your mind day and night, gripping and tugging at your heart. You’ve wanted to admit your feeling to Alex for the past few months after coming to terms that they wouldn’t just go away on their own. You’ve know him for over a year now, and the feelings only keep growing stronger. “The worst he can say is no,” is what your friends kept telling you, but he’s already said the worst thing in your opinion.

“I’m not looking for anything right now.”

You thought you’d bring up the topic of dating in general to him and try to gauge his feelings before admitting your own first. Kind of just beat around the bush. You thought maybe he’d just come out and admit he had a crush on you and then you could easily slip in how you felt about him too. Or maybe he’d pull the old “well my friend has a crush on their close friend they’ve known for a while but he just doesn’t know how to confess without ruining their friendship” and you could respond with “well he’ll never know unless he confesses, right?” and then he’d confess his feelings and turn out to be the “friend” who wanted to confess the whole time. Just like in movies and fanfics, right? Right? Wrong.

When you brought up the topic he went into a full rundown of how he just doesn’t see himself dating anyone anytime soon because he’s just so busy with his career right now and blah blah blah. As soon as he started talking you had just tuned it all out. His voice was drowned out by the voice in your head telling you to pull it together and choke down the icky feeling in your chest. The unrequited feeling. The only part of his entire response you heard loud and clear was the part you keep hearing play over and over in your head.

“I’m not looking for anything right now.”

Well shit. What do you do now? Respond with a chuckle and a “haha yeah me either”? Cut him off and tell him that he’s wrong and that you’re what he should be looking for? Admit your feeling regardless? Your thoughts were cut off by him asking you the question right back. “Sorry I feel like I really went on for a while. I didn’t mean to unload all that on you. Anyway, what’s your opinion on dating stuff?”

He asked the question so simply like he had no idea why you had asked him in the first place. “Umm,” you started, “well I mean yeah I guess I can see where you’re coming from. I guess I’d feel the same way if I was in your shoes. I don’t know. I guess for me dating is just like something I’m ready for now in my life. Im kind of tired of being single honestly, but hey, you know at least I’ve got you around, right?”

Alex grinned at the end of your last sentence. “Yeah, of course! I’ll always be here as your best friend so you don’t have to feel like a loner,” he chuckled. “But hey, you know if you’re trying to look for someone I’ll be the best wingman to ever walk this earth. And if anyone starts giving you shit or mistreating you, send em to me.” He turned from you and started throwing punches at the air and you couldn’t help but throw your head back in laughter. Alex was such an amazing friend to you and you started to wonder if wanting him as more than a friend was too much to ask in the first place. You were already lucky enough to have him care for you on a friendship level. The words still plagued your mind regardless.

“I’m not looking for anything right now.”

It’s been over a month since that happened and you continued to hang out with Alex like normal. You tried so hard to push your feelings for him down and appreciate the friend you had in him. The two of you had been hanging out all day and at the end of the night, he offered to drive you back home. The car ride to your place was more quiet than usual; void of loud music and laughter. It had been a long and eventful day and you were both exhausted from all you had done that day.

Alex pulled the car up to the front of your place and you reached to the floorboard of the car to grab your things and tell him goodnight before getting out. Before you could unbuckle your seatbelt, Alex’s voice broke the silence.

“Hey. I just…can I tell you something?”

“Uh yeah sure,” you responded as you placed your hands back in your lap and turned your body to better face him in the car.

He looked down from your face to his cup from the fast food restaurant you both ate at earlier as he played with the straw. “I lied. I lied to you and I’m sorry.”

You were too confused to respond as your mind raked through all of the things he could’ve possibly lied to you about.

He started up again, “I know I..well when we talked before…fuck like I didn’t mean to really say-“

“Alex spit it out. You’re making me nervous,” you said in a half speaking and half laughing voice trying to cover up the waver in your voice. Your fingers were already toying with each other as you tried to ease your nerves for whatever was to come.

“y/n I know this is gonna be awkward and I’m so sorry but I should’ve said it then and I’ve been making myself sick trying to think of a time to tell you this.” He brushed the pieces of hair back that were falling over his eyes as he finally looked back up to you. “I know I told you before that I wasn’t really looking for anything but the truth is that I’ve actually been falling for you. So hard. And before you interrupt and ask me why I said what I did, shit, I don’t know. I just..I just freaked out because I wasn’t expecting you to just ask me that out of nowhere.”

“Alex, Im sorry I didn’t mean to-“

“No please don’t apologize I should’ve just owned up to it and told you then because I really and I mean really wish I had. It’s been gnawing at me so bad that I didn’t take the opportunity to tell you. You honestly make me kinda nervous ever since I realized I wanted something more than friends with you.” His eyes dropped from yours again and went back to playing with the plastic straw.

“I make you nervous?” You could help but grin as you said it. You couldn’t believe he actually admitted to being nervous around you.

“Yeah yeah yeah go ahead and make fun of me, whatever, I knew I should’ve left that part out,” he scoffed as he rolled his eyes and sat back into his seat.

“No I’m glad you told me. I think it’s cute.”

“Oh so you think I’m cute?” He sat up straighter in his chair and smirked. “So you like me?”

You rolled your eyes at his sudden comeback in confidence after all the nervous toying with his straw he was just doing moments ago. He always ate up any little compliment you’d given him and you hated to admit you loved it.

“Yeah honestly I’ve had feelings for you for a while, and if you must know, I was actually trying to confess to you back when I asked your opinions on dating but wouldn’t you know, someone cough cough shut me down before I could. Mr. I’m not looking for anything right now.” You said the last part with finger quotes as you playfully rubbed what he said into his face.

He reached up and lightly smacked your finger quotes out of the air while trying to make an obviously forced angry face. “You should’ve just said it anyway. We could’ve been going on a date today and not just hanging out as friends. And then I could’ve kissed you goodnight when I dropped you off,” he wiggled his eyebrows as he said the last sentence.

Your face already started heating up. You knew exactly how a lot of your days spent together could’ve gone if you two had already been dating by this point. You practically thought about it every time you hung out together and every time you laid your head down on your pillow at night.

This time, you were the one to break the silence. “I mean, we still could,” you said quietly in the darkness of his car. “Only if you want to I mean I know we both just now told each other how we feel but I’m okay with-“

Your rambling was cut off with his lips shutting you up. It was just a peck, but as he pulled his head away you instinctively reached up to pull him back in. It was just a series of small closed-mouth kisses, but it was more than you could’ve imagined receiving from him just 15 minutes ago.

You pulled away from the kiss but kept your face close to his as your eyes scanned his. “I can’t believe you lied to me,” you whispered through a smile in the darkness.

“I’ll make it up to you, baby, don’t worry,” he whispered back as he closed the distance between the two of you again.

the two of you were on a mission at bind, it was simple. you go difuse the spike while he was assigned to watch your back.

he had to walk a few feet away to pick up wingman for five minutes, you would be fine right?

once he picked up wingman, he heard a loud bang behind him and a loud celebratory woop

"oh fuck."

he turned around and saw the familar wild colours from raze's showstopper.

"no no no! shit you good?" he called through the smoke

he hated the silence he recieved back. as the smoke cleared he saw your paint covered and burnt body.

"...cariño?...shit, wingman, go get the others. i got these guys."

he pulled out his customized spectre as he prepared to fight. he detained as many as he could before swiftly wiping them out one by one.

when the team arrived with wingman, sage quickly rushed to your side to aid you.

once he finished taking care of the enemies, he ran to your side

"i am so sorry...i thought i could go grab wingman but you got hurt...i am really sorry.."

Neon

a/n: this is small bc i wrote a whole ass essay for neon and it deleted....im so mad...im just trying to summarize it

"HOY! IM PISSED."

that was the last thing before you felt a sharp pain in your stomach as your vision went black.

you don't know what happened, but somehow yoru had gotten behind you. it was supposed to be a quick and simple mission. neon took A-site and you took B-site. unfortunately, right when neon approached B-site to check on you. she saw it.

red. the snow was covered in a beautiful shade of red. and it wasn't from your attacked. neon could feel electricity enter her fingertips as she lost control of her abilities.

you felt neon carrying you before falling uncomcious.

neon carried you to the jet and brought you to sage.

"im sorry...when i saw them like that i just...lost control of my abilities.."

"its ok, you did it to protect them. you saved them."

Phoenix

he was just returning from his "run it back" when he opened his eyes to see the enemy phoenix staring back at him, aiming his ghost at his own forehead.

he went to grab for his ghost but he found an empty holster.

"ah shit."

"you really thought i wouldn't just take your weapon? i'm not as foolish as you are."

phoenix braced for impact as he heard the gun fire, but the shot never came. he nervously opened his eyes to see you standing infront of him, a gunshot hole through your shoulder as you pushed the enemy phoenix away.

"dear?! what the-"

he watched as your limp body falls to the ground, feeling worry and rage overtake him.

"oh fam...your gonna regret that." he says to the opposite phoenix as the rest of his team approaches for backup.

when skye arrived at the site to treat you, she did not expect to see 5 charred bodies sprawled across the ground.

"mate...what happened?!"

"they ambushed us. (name) saved me cause i made a dumb mistake. go heal them, i am fine." he said with a dark tone to his voice

when skye healed you and you awoke, you were immediately greeted to the smell of burning. you turned your head towards phoenix as you saw him crouch beside you.

"thank god...why would you do that?! i'm sorry if i had checked my surroundings better you would have-" he rambles

you cut him off with a kiss as you feel his tired body begin to relax.

"no. i should have thought of a better plan. i am sorry i worried you."

for the next few days of your recovery, he will be by your side assisting you with anything you need. both of you content to try and ignore what happened that day.

Yoru

prior to meeting you, he was an extremely anger filled person. he still gets angry easy, but not as badly as before. you taught him how to control his emotions

but if he were to see you ganged up on in a mission, he would just lose control.

he was over at A-site at haven preparing to extract the radianite, before hearing your frantic voice shout through the comms for backup.

his heart dropped, he realized why his site was so empty along with the others. they had five-stacked onto one site. you had gone to C-site all alone. shit.

he immediately threw the spike towards Astra who had accompanied him to the A.

"stay here. i will go provide backup."

"alone? alright...stay safe."

he quickly teleported to your C-site to be met with a shocking sight. your battered and blood covered body lying down on the rough ground. burns and scratches littered your arms and legs. phoenix..

he looked up from your body to see the enemy phoenix, jett, chamber, astra, and skye staring at him with bloodthirsty gazes. they had teamed up on you because you were alone... how fucking sick could they be to attack a helpless sentienel.

he felt himself snap as he caught the enemy phoenix's cocky smirk. the cunt was proud of what he did.

when you regain conciousness, you are lying on the ground surrounded by the shredded corpses of the omega agents, a stained red yoru standing above them with his famous butterfly comb stained.

"...ryo?"

he turns around and immediately runs to your side.

"shit...thank god you are awake. don't move. help is coming ok?" he softly whispers while carressing your blood matted hair.

"are they...?"

"don't worry about them, you are safe now darling..."

when you make it back to base, you find out he took them all down on his own. when astra arrived at the site she had to practically tear yoru off of where he was mauling the corpses of the omega agents bodies.

he was ordered to talk to sage about his anger, but he never regretted what he did. he did it to save you and all that mattered was he had you back with him.

Cypher

he is used to killing to protect those he loves, this is nothing new to him.

he might be a cold killer, but you always knew he would never hurt you.

if someone was threatening you, he would keep them away using blackmail, but if it was more serious, he was prepared.

he sat waiting at the doors for the agents who had gone on your mission to come back. he was ready to greet you but he never thought he would have seen KA/YO holding you slung over his shoulder covered in blood.

he immediately freezes as he watches KA/YO rush to Sage's office. but he quickly recovers and follows quickly behind silently.

when sage caught sight of your body, she grimaced knowing it was bad. she ordered everyone out and allowed her space to work.

cypher was left with no answers as to what happened, as he sat anxiously outside Sage's office he hears KA/YO's robotic voice informing Viper of what happened.

"they went to go flank A alone, but their cypher must have seen her coming. when we arrived at A-site they were gone with the spike, they must have ambushed y/n and left her there for us to find...it was..bad. skye was able to help a little bit but...when we got there, they were missing their hand. im pretty sure they were awake when they did it."

"bastards..."

cypher could feel his blood BOILING. it was one thing to knock someone out, it was another to mutilate someone while they were awake. that wasn't fighting, that was mere torture.

he knew in this job people would get hurt. but he never thought they would ever go this far.

he was greatful you had lived, but he felt a burning feeling in his body.

as viper walked by, she stoped and turned to simply say.

"i know she was special to you Cypher, but don't do anything stupid. we don't need two people to revive."

he stood in place before walking to his room, he would make sure they couldn't hurt you. EVER again.

at the peak of night, he slipped out of his room and headed towards the armoury. he grabbed a ghost and a phantom before quietly walking towards the loading dock. he would make them regret ever hurting you.

in the morning, you were awoken to a tired looking sage.

"welcome back my child. you sure gave us a scare there. how do you feel?" she smiled wistfully

as she filled you in, you couldn't help but wonder where your partner was. typically he was by your bedside until you woke up.

"Ling...where is Cy?" you softly asked

she grinned at the nickname "don't worry, he is in brimstones office. your little boyfriend pulled a stunt to avenge you."

"oh god, is he ok? what did he do?" you sigh

"oh don't worry, he is fine! the agents who ambushed you on the other hand.."

you and sage converse for a while, before you see cypher nervously walk into the room

"my darling! how are you feeling? do you need anything?" he asks worriedly

"i feel good amir. don't worry. sage is taking good care of me!" you chuckle

he sighs in relief, he may have gotten a lecture (and maybe some cleaning duty...) but it was all worth it to see your face again.

the two boys have now arrived waiting for you guys to let them in. you and renjun jump with excitement and nervousnesses laughing as you immediately pretend to act normal after. “okay you got this okay? don’t worry i will be here for a bit but just try to talk to him so more okay?” he says receiving a nod from you as you open the front door. “hello!!! took you guys long enough.” mark says laughing as haechan follows him inside.

“hi y/n.” haechan says smiling at you before walking fully into you and renjuns house. “hi haechan.” you smile back after shutting the door and following them into the living room. “sit by him on the couch.” renjun whispers to you before sitting next to mark.

you sit down next to haechan receiving another smile from him. “would you guys want to watch a movie?” you ask the boys looking at them. “yea that would be good but me and mark are hungry so we might go get some food for us all in a bit. if that’s alright with you guys.” you look over to see what haechan thought but he is already looking at you. “sounds good.” he smiles.

30 minutes later the two boys decide to go get the food. “it’s not too far give us like 20-30 ish minutes there and back.” mark says waving to you guys before getting up. “okay y/n you can do this okay? don’t fear rejection. he totally likes you girl.” he whispers to you winking at you before leaving with mark.

come on y/n you can do this right everything is gonna be fine. “hey you ok? you seem nervous or something.” haechan puts his hand on your shoulder. “yea im good! just want to talk to you about something if thats okay.” you say looking away from him slightly. “go ahead.” he smiles.

“okay i’m really scared to tell you this but renjun said its a good idea so. i like you haechan. like more than a friend. i want to be more than a friend with you..” you look away from him completely scared about what he is gonna say. he pulls your face to kiss him softly. “i like you too y/n. i have for awhile.” he smiles rubbing his thumb on your cheek. you hug him softly smiling. “let me tell renjun real fast.” you laugh grabbing your phone to text him

as soon as you leave renjun turns to you. “GIRLLLL HE IS DOWN BADDD THAT KISS ON THE CHEEK HE WANTED MORE OKAY!!” he yells taking another bite of his food they got. you are just laughing non stop. “his lips are so soft.” he laughs. “ok didn’t need to know that but don’t you think you deserve a little reward?!” he asks grabbing a bottle of wine pouring it into glasses for you two.

“oh jun i definitely deserve this.” you smile taking a quick sip. “also i wanted to say thank you. i wouldn’t of had the confidence for this if you didn’t help me and talk to me about it so thank you.” he hugs you softly. “of course y/n im always here to help.

“now we gotta find you a girlfriend or boyfriend mister!!” he laughs. “or partner hey you never know.” you correct yourself.

“your wingman skills are not nearly as good as mine come on!” he says receiving a quick glare from you. “we’ll see..” you say taking another sip of your wine laughing with him.

logically, peter makes a good point. something they'd never talk about again, and he was the safest person to do it with.

ethan thinks it's a solid deal. 'fuck it, man. let's kiss.'

peter leans in slowly, ethan gradually closes the gap. peter's the one who made first contact, but it felt like ethan was kissing his grandmother, there was nothing to base off a longing peck.

so, ethan takes the initiative and opens his mouth. peter follows, it makes ethan realize peter's willing to go as far as ethan will. so, he ever so slightly suggests the idea of a makeout, dotting his tongue on peter's lower lip, and surprisingly, peter's open to it.

if ethan can separate the kiss from the person, it's pretty nice. he likes the feeling of a rough jaw, a solid chest, strong arms, the slight tickle from stubble. the whole rubbing tongues thing kinda freaked him out, but that's also because it's peter and he knows where, or who his tongue had been in.

peter's right. it helped him make up his mind, plus, he needs air.

the second ethan pulls away they both wipe the back of their hands across their mouth, speaking at the same time, 'no homo.'

'bro, kissing you feels like i'm rubbing my mouth across an eraser soaked in clorox.'

So i watched episodes 3 to 8 of Pahkitew Island

Again, watched these with my buddy @rockin-it-rusty! And, holy shit these episodes have got me genuinly wondering why Pahkitew's so hated.

I'll go over the negatives first; the challenges are kinda eh. The Truth or Scare one is great, and the cave one is interesting due to it's hints at the Fake Island reveal (as heavy handed as they were), but most of these were just pretty out there to me? They mostly felt like an excuse to put the characters in situations mostly. Just have Topher make a narration joke, give Max and Scarlett an interaction, have Sky and Dave dance around eachother all due to a thing the challenge made them do. I don't mind the first two much, but the last one gets super repetitive man. Glad they mixed it up a bit by making Shawn try to wingman Dave though, i like their friendship! im a bigger dashawn shipper now oops

ANYWAYS IMA TALK ABOUT THE CHARACTERS NOW BECAUSE LET'S BE HONEST, THE CHARACTERS CARRY THE SHOW!

Amy... Ok im very mixed on her. On one hand, she serves her role as the mean twin relatively well. But on the other, that's all she really is! Her one trait is being mean and hating her sister, and that's all she really does! Granted she has a thing? Where she gets sayings (?) wrong, or just gets words wrong (she says parfait is german. it's french. i would know) which! could hint at something! (maybe less smart than her sister?) but they don't do shit with her outside of her swimming back to the island in episode 5. god i wanna rewrite this season so badly now to give her a bigger role. idk shoutouts to Twinning with a Twist for redeeming her while still giving her some edge ig.

Rodney. i uh

I haven't thought about him since his elimination honestly. I just doooooon't care about him it's crazy. Most forgettable guy in the entire series.

Sammy! Ok back to the siblings rambles! I wish the show leaned into her scheming more. Girl in five episodes pulled identity theft and did nothing else. Why. Her relationship with Jasmine is adorable, and i wish she got Jasmine to call her by her actual name, and a personality too! It's really a shame man :(

Sidenote, but like her team fucking hated her for some reason??? Like what. I know it's because of that one scene, but really?

Ella!! My sweet girl Ella!!! She didn't do anything wrong man she just likes singing leave her alone!!! Chris really fucking hates her and it's pretty entertaining at least, but i'd say his beef with Topher's funnier. She has a nice singing voice, and i love how passionate she is about fairytales and stuff. You could do so much with the Prince thing and the show... didn't. Like what even was that. Conflict that wasn't one that lasts an episode. what

Gotta say though, her elimination was fucking ass, Max 100% should've been kicked instead of her.

Topher. Ah the opher. He's a special case, even in the context of Pahkitew Island itself! Because the dude's not here for the game. He's here to meet his idol, Chris Mclean (he really knows how to pick em, huh). I like the progression he's got, from wanting his approval to straight up wanting to host the game instead of him. I'll admit, my opinion's a little skewed since i am mutuals with the Topher guy on Tumblr, but i like him regardless!

His relationship with Chris is easily one of the more interesting parts of the season, mostly because a 30-something year old dude having beef with a teenage fan is hilarious, and you could definitely spin it in a sad way from Topher's perspective.

It also helps that he's genuinely funny! His few interactions with the other campers are also pretty fun, he dgaf about them it's great.

Im kind of mixed on Dave, i'll be real. On one hand, im glad they ditched the whole "he doesn't like anyone on this Island" trait three episodes in because that would've gotten. SO ANNOYING. SO FAST. (hell i'd argue it was already annoying), and him being a hopeless romantic could be a fun trait, if done right. It also helps that he's really pathetic and i find that funny. His friendship with Shawn's fun too!

But on the other hand... Yeah, even before the finale the Skave plotline's really boringgg. They just dance around eachother for half the season for like! No reason! Please just have a conversation, even if it takes other people to sit them down to have it! I know why they didn't because the finale needed them to not actually talk about it but at least have Sky tell him she'll explain later or have him not be a coward and ask her about it himself!!! ack!!

Also the thing with him and Ella went literally nowhere. I have 0 feelings about it because it's just there for some reason. Idk they just really wanted to shoehorn in romance for every girl this season huh.

Scarlett's a really underutilized character pre-Island reveal. The bulk of her interactions with the other campers are with Max, who has a ton of screentime for some reason (which i don't personally really mind but i'll explain later) which honestly sucks because she's a fun character! I want to compare her to Twilight Sparkle at the very start of MLP. She's smart, she knows it, she can communicate with her teammates just fine and just chooses not to usually. I like her alot! Im just... really disapointed that she's so in the background usually; if anyone's a wasted character in tdpi, outside of the Twins i'd say it's her.

Her legit wanting to kill Max is great though. That's how i'd react to him irl. Don't get the Max saying she had a crush on him three episodes in, or the quip Chris made during the team switching tho.

SPEAKING OF WHICH, MAX! I swear, i was convinced i'd find this guy annoying pre-watch but uh... I like this guy! No really, i do! He's like Mal, only the narrative doesn't take him seriously in the slightest and it's hilarious to watch! Im like Sugar in that one clip, i am laughing at this buffoon's intelligence, and his stupid catchphrase, and his "evil" plans, and his general delivery! Max is funny!

Even when the Scarlett "minion" thing kicked in i still found him funny! Don't get me wrong, i wish he'd gotten out earlier (ESPECIALLY when he was supposed to get kicked in the episode Ella got eliminated into) or just gotten less screentime in general, but in the season proper, yeah he's a funny guy! Big gimmick, but i like him! Please don't add nuance to him, i don't care

Jasmine... certaintly exists! I'd call her the Season's rock, the one character that's emotionally intelligent on the show. She's fun in general, and also the only one noticing things going wrong with the robotic island. As said before, her relationship with Sammy is great to see, and i wished we'd see more of her and Sky's friendship and uh. For there to be more between her and Shawn? Because the only things i've retained is that they blushed at eachother once and then trust issues party because he hit her once during a challenge and that completely broke her trust in him - which, could be an interesting aspect of her character to explore since if that's all it took for her to pull a 180 on Shawn, the girl must have a complicated relationship with trust. That's an interesting flaw! It also shows up with her rapport in Sky in the later episodes of this batch, and. GOD. I wish it was developped man!

The issue? Yeah it's dragged on so longggg man! It's frustating to watch frankly because i really wish they'd resolve this conflict quicker since it's like. The same thing every episode :( to my knowledge it's solved in episode 9, but it did NOT need to be dragged out for 4 episodes.

Unrelated to her charater, but her height difference with the other campers is kind of ridiculous. In some shots the characters look so small compared to her it's crazyyy

Ok, now. Sugar. I'll be honest? She's great! She's just a menace and doing her own thing and it's fun to watch! She's also interesting in terms of backstory since she's canonically a pageant queen; her relationship with Ella is greatly impacted by this, since she heavily suspects her of lying to her face when it's just. Ella being Ella. Similar thing to her opinion on Topher; she doesn't like him for his sucking up to Chris, the host (something that Rusty probably agrees with). I fucking wish she was more popular because then people would look into her more, but alas. She's a female, plus sized character in Pahkitew Island, so considering the Fandom's biases, it was never going to happen. U_U

OK TIME FOR ZOMBIE BOY. So, Shawn. He's definitely more present in these episodes than he was before, and, again, i think he's fun! He's a weird little guy. He's got interesting skills (his camouflage, legit parkour, general athleticism) and his personality's interesting as well compared to the other guys. The zombie thing is fine, actually, because they do different things with it over the course of these episodes. Not much to say about him, he's a solid character to me and i wish he had more interactions with the cast outside of Dave and his pining for Jasmine. Who he's talked to like, five times at this point? Again, they probably should've talked stuff out faster than this for me to actually enjoy it. Oh well.

And finally, Sky. She's an interesting case for me? She's fine, mostly. She's the Normal Person™️ of the cast to me, and that means she really struggles to grab me. It's made worse by her main plot being a basic romance plot where the gimmick is that she's a reasonable human being and Dave isn't. And neither are able to have a normal fucking conversation about it either. The mixed signals thing could've been interesting, but this is Fresh TV writters, so of course it didn't end up that way. I assume the episodes without Dave are the ones where her personality shines more? Because so far she's just been really reserved and calm. And said she'd "focus on the competition only" And then. Doesn't. Really. God i wish this season treated it's female characters better :(

OK SO OVERALL THOUGHTS:

Im mixed on alot of the character decisions

god i wished these people talked more

the screentime is not well split among the cast

the romance plots and pacing of the Island plot are the weakest parts of this season

the challenges are fine

Why does Chef have 5 lines total.

Pahkitew Island does NOT deserve the overly negative rep it gets in this Fandom, at least based on the first 8 episodes.

Atsumu spots Osamu easily among the crowd – twin things. There’s that and the fact that he and his brother are usually a full head taller than the average population of Japan. The volleyball player swerves through, dodging the flailing hands of a dancer and traversing some sticky footing. Pleasantly buzzed from a night of inebriation, he’s not even annoyed when a guy accidentally bumps into him; yet the sight he arrives to makes him immediately scowl.

Osamu likes to label what he does as “customer service” and for some reason, the dang guy can’t seem to turn it off. He smiles at randos he passes in the streets and if one of them decides to say hi to him, he can’t keep walking and pretend he didn’t hear them like Atsumu always does.

The convenience store near his ma’s house had always been a five minute walk, three if they’d just earned their pocket money and were racing each other down for first pick of an ice cream. Nowadays, his dear brother can extend the trip double with Atsumu’s arms crossed and his foot tapping like he’s five again and his ma just saw one of her friends in a grocery store and was “catching up”.

“What took ya so long?” Ma would ask with her head tilted, hair up and fan pointed at her while she stirred a pot of soba noodles.

“I blame ya!” Atsumu would then point with Osamu completely indifferent to the exchange. He’d dutifully wash the radish they’d been sent out to get and begin grating it. His ma, though, quirks an amused brow which would irritate him further and make him flop onto the couch like he’d always do after they lost a game. “I blame ya and ya chatty genes he inherited.”

“Saw Yamada on the way,” Osamu would offer without looking up.

“Oh? How is he? How are the kids?”

“He’s good. Kids are good, too. The oldest one’s got a cultural festival coming up. He invited us.”

“We should go!”

“Already told him we would.”

And Atsumu finds his brother in another absolutely irrelevant conversation, this time, about TVs for some reason. The blonde wraps an arm around his brother’s shoulder, the other recognizing his touch immediately without so much of a glance to him. Twin things.

“Ya getting tired?” Atsumu asks and pointedly ignores Osamu’s company, turning his cheek away from them to speak into the cook’s ears. It seems he wasn’t discrete enough because when Osamu nods, one of them pipes up with an unwarranted statement.

“My friend is single,” said friend looks sheepish, but the other one, the one who’s wingmanning, seems adamant with eyes wide and focused on Osamu, “like really single and she’s got a house really close by.”

Osamu’s reaction is much too slow for Atsumu. Or maybe Atsumu’s just fast because he grabs his brother’s left hand and displays it aggressively, shaking the limb for effect.

“And he’s got a ring right on ‘im!” The athlete doesn’t even wait for a reaction. He turns around and leads his brother out of the venue. When the din of the bar dulls and there’s enough fresh air to clear the stickiness from his pores, Atsumu finally smacks the back of Osamu’s head.

The cook parries with his own slap.

“What are ya on, Tsumu?” He asks while rubbing his nape.

The stupid question makes him want to hit his brother again but he settles for a shove this time. “Ya gotta stop doing that!”

Osamu doesn’t get a chance to defend himself as they walk past a group of friends which turns the blonde smug. He’ll take all the wins he can get.

“What are ya talking about?”

“Ya gotta stop talking to people and being nice and shit.”

“It’s called being friendly, Tsumu. Ya should try it.”

“Ya don’t need any more friends,” Atsumu huffs, turning his head away, embarrassed. “Ya got two best friends already.”

Osamu’s grin is conspiratorial, ��are ya saying that you’re one of ‘em?”

The blonde flushes, small red spots peeking through the unbuttoned portion of his shirt, mad that he’s so easy to read, angry because his brother sees right through him. “I better be!” Then he tries to deflect by pushing his brother again. Osamu bodies him with his shoulder in response. “And ya got one waiting for ya at home so let’s go. I’m tired of hanging out with these scrubs.”

The streets are more quiet now. There’s the sound of their steps and the soft huff of their breath and the rustle of their clothes, and even the bar’s music is just muffled noise that makes Osamu’s gaze seem so loud. He stares for a moment until his eyes fall to his feet. He nods with a small muttering of thanks.

If Atsumu is easy to read, then so is he. Neither of them need their emotions to be shown so expressly. It’s simply intuitive so there’s no reason to dwell on it.

Atsumu knocks into his brother again, “don’t thank me yet. I’m snitching ya out!”

“Ya instigating!” Osamu grins as he pushes his brother’s cheek, “I didn’t do anything!”

Chapter summary:

It had been three weeks, since their night together. And Eddie had become obsessed since. He only knew that because Robin had just told him,

“You’re obsessed,” while they were sitting under the oak tree at lunch. Steve didn't join them today, which Eddie is actually grateful for. He doesn't know how to broach the topic of sleeping with Billy, Steve’s ex, with his new best friend.

He told Robin immediately, had to, she was his absolute best friend, wingman, right hand man and partner in crime. Had been since 7th grade orchestra and they never looked back. They were the definition of The Odd Couple, but it benefited both of their strives toward queer anonymity that people just assumed it was natural the two weirdos were dating each other. They never bothered correcting the assumption, except with other queerdos who knew about The Code. Steve, recently awoken bisexual, fell into that category, and his relationship with Billy was complicated in the simplest, most convenient of terms.

Eddie let out a heavy sigh. He could feel tears brimming on the edge og lids, but he couldnt let them fall. Not now.

“He’s gonna hate me.”

Robin sighs heavily now too. And eddie hates hes the one who made her make that sound.

“Every day you put it off is only making it worse.”

“Gee thanks alot Rob,”

“Well im sorry! I’ve tried the kind and compassionate route! Look where its gotten you!”

Shes right, of course she is, but he still doesn't want to hear it.

“Eddie,” she sighs, interlacing her arm with his and kissing the edge of his bicep the way she does only when shes about to deliver some hard truths, “its gonna suck. Yeah. But, he will get over it. You gotta give Steve the chance to be okay with it before you convince yourself he won’t be. He won't hurt you, Steve’s not like that, but, it’s going to hurt him. I don’t think Steve will ever be over Billy.”

The tears fall anyway.

“Fuck.” Which is annoying because he let himself be convinced he could save two dollars and go without waterproof eyeliner and now he’s paying the price. “I don't deserve either of them.”

“Stop that shit right now. I think you might be freaking yourself out a little. It’s just sex.”

“Sex with Billy is not just sex to Steve.”

“You're not Steve.”

“You're right, I’m a slut and an idiot.”

Robin sighs at his self depricary, resting her head against his bicep now.

“Invite Steve over, make him dinner, then tell him. Then talk to Billy. If you’re asking for my advice.”

He was, he really was at his wits end after 3 weeks of no further contact, new injuries on Billy, and too long in his own head.

“I love you.”

Robin snorted.

“That’s so gay Munson. But I love you too.”

It got Eddie to laugh too, and he was so happy to have her as a platonic soulmate.

ok idc that im copying the plot from the movie, but imagine that you were mav's wingman in the final mission, and you obviously go back for mav and get stuck and since you're in an older plane, and hangman is literally begging comms to go out there and save you and mav, but he is denied that which makes him freak out!!!!

once you turn your gps back on, he's incredibly relieved that you're okay but he's still worried, and once they realise how old the plane that you're in is, they give him approval to go ahead.

him saving yours and mavs life would be so terrifying for him, especially if he realised that he didn't want to lose you, as if he loved you more than a friend.

aaaaaaaaaaaah dear anon, all aboard the angst train holy shit!

You know what though, that part in the film when Hangman is requesting to go out there, my heart absoutely shattered! I felt that in my bones at how desperate he was to save Rooster and Mav, so translate that into you and him? My poor heart.

He would be worried sick sat in his aircraft, tapping his fingers against the gear stick, bouncing his knee. It would also be at this point that he realizes how much he loved you more than just a friend.

Getting back on the tarmac, he’s climbing out of his aircraft as quick as he can, waiting for you to land behind him. When he sees you, the relief washes over him like a tidal wave and he can’t help his legs from running up to you. Cupping your face in his hands and kissing you as hastily as he could.

The feeling of his lips against yours, knowing he could’ve possibly never experienced that? Shatters him. You press your foreheads together, breathing erratic as you grip onto the collar of his jumpsuit. “Fucking hell. Never pull that again.” He grimaces, trying to crack a smile.

The sex you would then have that night? It’s soft and gentle as you’re still a bit beaten up, but he’s holding you so close, pressed against his chest because he can’t ever risk nearly loosing you again.
