do u have any advice for learning/improving anatomy? ive been trying to practice from figure drawings but... i get overwhelmed when they all end up looking off and bad :(( i just wanna b able to draw poses & bodies more loosely with them still looking nice!!

This is just my personal experience and it does not work well for everyone but I'll share it in case there's a possibility it will work for you or anyone else who sees this post!

I almost ALWAYS use a toy, a posable doll, or myself as photo reference when things get tricky, or when I don't fully understand a pose/anatomical structure. I think I especially favor dolls when learning poses because I really like my dolls and my toys, it makes the experience for me less stressful and more fun to reference and study things I like!

If you can, find photos from media you like as well. Professional artists (usually) have a high understanding of anatomy, and it's ok to try studies based on their artwork! At least starting off, that is. There's no harm in using these to build up to using more realistic/real figures to learn better/more diverse anatomy and posing.

Lastly this is just a gentle reminder that stylization and looseness in an artstyle is like applying a filter over reality. If you cannot understand how an object might look naturally, it's difficult to apply said filter, so taking time to learn is nessecary for improvement in some cases! I understand getting overwhelmed when trying new things in art, so take your time, and have fun with it! I believe in you!

5 Tatara is like a sports dad in Aogiri. Like he doesn’t do all that much but he lives vicariously through some of the younger higher-ups. He def considers Yumitsu and Ayato as his kids and is probably apprehensive about hinami because he knows that Ayato has a crush on her and he doesn’t want to see his kid’s heart broken. He probably accidentally called them his kids when talking to Eto and got really embarrassed about it

Ohhh, I'm rereading Mystra's entry in the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide... and this detail:

This means Gale was punished for trying to restore and preserve what he thought was a lost piece of Mystra's magic. Gale being Mystra's ex-lover put aside. He as her follower, she his goddess, was punished for attempting to do the one foundational rule of her faith.

I'm seething and so sad at the same time.

Edit: I used the word punish loosely, as in, toxic/abusive people will take any small mistake or action and twist it into something they can take advantage of. This post was also largely from the stand point of a toxic deity rather than a toxic partner, but both takes are valid here. Especially with the, “you didn’t stay compliant so now I’m giving you the silent treatment” part of it��from a god and a partner perspective.

as someone who has experienced abuse from someone with a personality disorder, it's actually incredibly easy to not dehumanize everyone with a personality disorder. i've seen people do borderline eugenic rhetoric surrounding people who have npd, aspd, bpd or other personality disorders, and then be like "I'M allowed to say these things because i'm a survivor, and if you disagree you are hurting abuse victims."

and frankly? i'm tired of it. as an abuse survivor i'm here to say that you're NOT allowed to turn into a fucking eugenicist the moment you're hurt by someone with a personality disorder.

does hurting and belittling other people who happen to have the same disorder as your abuser, people that are already suffering and that are already looked down on by society, bring you any healing? does it bring you peace?

Being hurt by someone isn't an excuse to hurt others that you feel justified in lashing out on. you're literally in control of your own actions,

you may claim to be making a safe space for abuse survivors, but i will never feel any solidarity with you, and i ESPECIALLY don't feel safe with you considering i might have a personality disorder.

you are excluding a large amount of abuse survivors in the name of "advocacy". a lot of people with personality disorders developed one or multiple due to heavy abuse. in the aim of creating a safe space, you are excluding the ones who need a safe space the most.

imagine you're a guy finally admitting he's queer in his thirties in a macho field of first responders, you got to watch your coworker be an out and proud lesbian at your shitty station but you still don't feel like you can be yourself until you leave behind everyone who knows you for harbour, few years down the line an old coworker calls you to ask you to fly them into a hurricane, you say sure what's the worst that can happen, and maybe you want to repay the woman who showed you what bravery was, and there you meet a golden retriever of a man who is too much to think about in that situation actually, so you don't, but then after it all he puts a hand on your shoulder and smiles at you and maybe..., he calls you a few days later to ask for a tour, asks you out for a beer too but you can't quite tell whether it's platonic or not, you panicked and called him kid it's probably platonic, he shows up to a basketball game and you're pretty sure he's in love with his best friend, you mess with him just a little just for fun, but then things get bad and you go to try to smooth things over, you end up on his doorstep somehow, he's golden in the dim light of his loft and you want to kiss him but you've spent the last two weeks learning how deeply integrated he is into his best friend's family, he's not yours to kiss, except he's making fun of your fake mouth static and he's so close and he's asking to spend time with you and telling you that he wants to get to know you and admitting he wanted your attention, and well you kiss him, and he looks a little like he's just found religion but you make sure it's okay just to be safe and it is, it's okay and god you like him, you really like him, so you ask him on a date and he's breathless in his rush to accept and you really fucking like him, you pick him up at 8 on saturday, you take him to an intimate little italian restaurant, he's tense and looking around like he's waiting for someone to jump out on them and throw a bucket of rainbow glitter over their heads, you tell him about your own journey of self discovery and he listens, takes it a little like an accusation, starts rambling about being an ally, and you really fucking like him it's embarrassing.
