#sorry for pulling Yuzu into this
Text
Yuzu’s announcement to retire from competition made me aware of a key aspect which factors into Viktor’s reaction when Yuuri tells him he’s retiring I didn’t consider before: Besides being Yuuri’s coach and fiancé, Viktor is also Yuuri’s greatest fan and he struggles to deal with the flip side of it.
Viktor is enamoured with Yuuri’s musicality. Yuuri is graceful, he does amazing spins, his footwork is top-notch—it makes Viktor fall for him all over again. Viktor recognises Yuuri’s potential. He sees how Yuuri’s skating enriches the sport and helps him to make it flourish.
No one follows Yuuri’s progress more closely than Viktor. He sees Yuuri thrive and improve his skating skills. When Viktor watches him skate, he’s swooning. He’s in love with Yuuri’s skating and with Yuuri, and he gets to see him "making music" every day. Thousands of skating fans would die for such an opportunity.
I doubt Viktor ever admired another skater this much, although he surely grew up having idols. But this is different. Viktor and Yuuri are in love AND fervent fans of each other. But then Yuuri wants to retire all of a sudden and Viktor’s world comes crashing down.
Tumblr media
Realising you will never get to see your favourite skater, the one you watch breath caught in your throat, skate again, can cause grief. You grieve over the loss of beauty and the joy it brought. You grieve over the loss of the opportunity to witness this poetry on ice ever again. (Side note: There's nothing intrinsically wrong with having these feelings. They can, however, become so strong that they compromise a person's mental health and require them to seek professional help.)
Viktor, however, is not just some fan of Yuuri. Through their relationship, he is emotionally attached to Yuuri's skating. Plus, having his student retire from competition is unprecedented for him. And this comes on top of
Feeling dumped as Yuuri’s coach and partner since these aspects of their relationship are inseparably intertwined.
Feeling betrayed because Yuuri made the decision without him.
His abandonment issues skyrocket because this could mean the end of their relationship.
The notion that Yuuri wants to push him back into a sport which left him burnt out and depressed.
So much to having trust in whatever Yuuri decides. This man really has a heavy mental load to carry! Being a Yuuri-fanboy isn’t a problem intrinsically, but it influences Viktor in ways which exacerbate the internal drama Yuuri's announcement causes. He must learn to better separate his personal relationship from his professional one.
Viktor's issues prevent him from seeing that Yuuri is sacrificing his career for him, just like he sacrificed his own career for Yuuri a couple months ago. He cannot see that he won’t lose Yuuri as a partner (at least if they solve their conflict) because suddenly he's the unreliable narrator, orchestrating his shockingly realistic personal Grand Prix Final drama—this show really portrays mental health issues well! It’s good Viktor stopped Yuuri from sacrificing his passion for love though, as this would have damaged their relationship in the long run, too.
I would love to see Viktor using his fanboy energy in positive ways when one day Yuuri retires from competition for good and saying things like “Please come to our ice shows where you can see Yuuri making music without the restricting ISU rules and if you ever come to Hasetsu, visit Yutopia Daytime Onsen. They have great katsudon!”

Baby Citrus
Tumblr media
summary: on a rainy sunday morning, you and tangerine discuss baby names.
genre: fluff
pairing: tangerine x female reader
warnings: cursing, pregnancy (is this a warning? maybe for some)
Masterlist
-----
it all started when you met tangerine and lemon on a mission. you're all after the same treasure, but when tangerine found out your name - code name, he instantly fell in love and you both said 'fuck it' to the mission.
your code name? clementine.
it was one hell of a sabotaged mission, but you managed to pull through, and two years later, you're carrying his baby in your belly.
you're about 16 weeks pregnant, and the doctor said that by now your baby is the size of a large orange. that gave tangerine a brilliant idea.
"so," tan hands your hot tea carefully. "i have a list of baby names."
"i am aware," you say, "and i have a list of my own."
"oh?" his eyebrows quirk up, "i love how competitive you are."
"it's not a competition my love."
"is it not?"
he sits behind you so you can lean on him, while his hands reach out to the ceiling and he announces the name as if it's written up there. "kumquat."
"no."
he looks at you in disbelief. "why not?"
you laugh, "darling, knowing how childish you and lemon can be, i'm not naming our child anything that can turn into an innuendo."
he rolls his eyes but knows you're right.
"how about valencia?"
"i'm sorry, are we having an italian 50 year old?"
scoffing, you turn your back towards him and purposely lean your entire weight on him. doesn't affect him at all, but your point stands.
"daidai"
"no," you object. "tangelo."
"veto. citron."
"like the car?"
"no babe, that's citroen. we're talking about citruses here."
"right. still no. how about oroblanco?"
"what even is that?"
"it's like a grapefruit -- and no to grapefruit."
"alright alright." he huffs. "i've got one more."
"shoot."
"yuzu."
you feel a little kick from your baby and gasp. "tan, that's the first time that's ever happened."
grinning from ear to ear, tangerine holds you closer to him and places both his hands on your stomach. "proud of you, kiddo. keep kicking like that soon you'll be kicking ass."
"tan," you warned, "we talked about this. if baby yuzu doesn't want to do what mommy and daddy does, then that's okay. she can-"
tangerine's eyes widen and his jaw drops. "we're... we're having a girl?"
you turn to face him and wince. "sorry, it just slipped out... i know you wanted it to be a surprise-"
"we're having a girl!" he shouts and laughs, hugging you close and kissing you all over. "i love you so much."
"i love you too, tan. you're gonna be an amazing dad." you nestle in his arms.
-----
"we're having a girl and you were about to name our baby 'tangelo'?"
"...shut up, tan."

Happy 28th! Here is my February 2024 fic rec, organized by word count, from longest to shortest. You can view my other fic recs here. Enjoy!
Remember Me Fondly by kiddle / @bluejeanlouis (73k)
“You’ve told the beginning of the story so many times. I want to hear the end.”Louis laughed, scratching at his chin. “I can’t say I really know when the end happened.”“How about the tour of ninety-five?”“Alright.” Louis took a deep breath. “But it took a few steps to get there. What would you like to know?”Penny cleared her throat.“How did you first meet Harry Styles?” Grunge legends Fearless Doe topped the rock charts in the ‘90s, but they spent the decade kicking Smudge off their heels. From lawsuits to jaw-dropping scandals and a surprising joint world tour, the two bands share a complicated history.
Twenty-five years later, frontmen Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles are finally ready to sit down and tell the world their two sides of the same story.
Truth may vary.
I Would Know You From Touch Alone by staybeautiful / @harruandlou (72k)
They had never been face to face before now. They’d never touched, skin to skin, until Harry landed a punch to his face, high on his cheekbone.
Louis shoved him off and was pulling his fist back from Harry’s abdomen before he realized his face wasn’t tingling because of the pain.
It pooled out from his cheek, over his face, down his neck and spine. A shiver in the late September night. Heat, sparks - whatever you wanted to fucking call it.
or The Tomlinson and Cox gangs have hated each other for over forty years. Harry Styles, the grandson of Gritty Cox, was freshly back to the city after uni when, on his first night out, he punched the Tomlinson heir in the face. It shouldn’t have mattered, their gangs have done worse to each other. But all it took was one single touch to recognize your soulmate. Louis was adamant that being soulmates changed nothing, not who they were or which family they were loyal to. Or, at least, it shouldn’t have.
A Yuzu Grows in Brooklyn by stylinsoncity / @aliensingucci (66k)
Harry is a recent implant in new york and a young chef opening a restaurant called yuzu. louis, a music teacher and broadway lover, has been around the block for a while. in a city that's so fast-paced, they're slow to catch on to each other.
Ferricadooza! by suspendrs / @suspendrs (65k)
Harry can’t even fathom the idea of surrendering; he’d fight ‘til he died, if he had to, anything to keep from surrendering.
Or, the year is 1963, homosexuality is illegal in the UK, Louis owns a gay bar, and Harry’s an underground boxing champion with an unfortunate enemy.
The Recklessness in Water by LarryOn (50k)
Louis Tomlinson is miserable. He's stuck on a family vacation at a lake cabin in New Hampshire when all he wants to do is bemoan his sorry existence and wallow in his sweatpants. As if the humidity and mosquitos weren't bad enough, he becomes the singular target of an obnoxious lifeguard named Harry.
Passing By by Larry_you_know / @larryyouknow (48k)
Sometimes, people are in each other's lives just for the briefest of moments. They meet and then go their separate ways because being vulnerable is scary and it might be easier to not let anybody else in. But some people aren’t meant to be just passing by. Maybe when they open their eyes, they can learn things about themselves they haven’t known before. If they let their hearts speak they will find a way to be together.
Or the one where Harry doesn't even know he's into guys until he meets Louis on a boat trip. There's something more to their friendship but it ain't gonna be smooth sailing.
Rivers 'Til i Reach You by embodied (29k)
Louis can’t begin to understand how he’s always this close and still can’t manage to make Harry his. He stands up and gets another beer.   AU. Louis studies astronomy; Harry studies Louis. They spend their summers on the water and it shouldn't be complicated (spoiler: it is).
You Promised Forever by indierection (amandamoraisa) (21k)
[Harry wants a baby. Louis wanted a baby. Now he's not so sure.]
Of course they've always wanted to have kids, even as young as they were in 2012. But it's only ten years later, when they've been married for already three and One Direction is no longer together, that Harry and Louis will finally get to start their own family. Or at least that's what they thought, because Louis suddenly feels the pressure of fatherhood on his shoulders as he realizes he has to be responsible for another human being; and if that's not terrifying he doesn't know what it is. He is, in fact, having these sudden panic attacks when he thinks too much about the future. Yet, Louis just sucks it up because he's losing his mind, but Harry has already to much on his. Besides, in the end they are fireproof. Aren't they?
The Sunshine Stays by QuickedWeen / @becomeawendybird (15k)
It's three years after One Direction got back together, and Harry and Louis have just come off a world tour. They're enjoying a much more relaxed schedule the second time around, allowing themselves to bask in married life. Until, one day, Louis surprises Harry on vacation, and there are some surprising consequences.

hi🥰🥰 i just saw your post about requests being open so here i am, brain filled with suguru worms🧎 i’ve been daydreaming sm about living a slow, romantic cottage-core life with this man. would you consider doing headcanons for that?🥹
an: wrote this in an aiport lol. set after suguru declares war on jujutsu high but doesn't die. escapes in exile with sorcerer!reader. this got a little dark sorry!
cw: a bit of tradwifery (sorry), possessiveness, vomiting, impregnation
you're still getting used to the country life. it's nice and tranquil. there's a few yuzu trees surrounding the cottage you and suguru inhabit and a strawberry field by the lake that's less than a mile away from the house. suguru moved you two to the japanese countryside after narrowly escaping death after the war against jujutsu high to lay low for a while, but his grip on you has only gotten stronger after leaving tokyo.
you made do with what you had. fleeing so quickly meant no time to pack. a part of you missed the temple, the people, the friends you made, and the huge master bedroom you and suguru shared (the cottage bedroom wasn't half the size). but suguru insisted that this tiny cottage would be the best chance from gojo or anyone from jujutsu high to find him, so here you were, bright and early fixing suguru breakfast.
"smells great darling," he says smiling as you pour the hot green tea into his teacup. "will you not have any yourself?"
"no, im not hungry," you shrug.
"hmm."
you sit in comfortable silence for a bit, looking out the window next to the table while he goes back to reading the paper. you knew you should feel lucky to be here, the village was so pretty and picturesque, and the villagers were so welcoming. you knew you should feel even luckier that surguru chose you, yes you, to run away with him. he fucks you harder now, rougher and more impulsively than the carefully calculated man that he was before. he cums inside you now, every single time as if he was trying to get you pregnant. maybe he's taking his frustrations out on you, or maybe he's just showing you how much he really loves you, and it would be a lie to say you didn't like it.
you feel his big hands rub your knee under the table, taking you out of your thoughts.
"you look like you're thinking about something," he raises an eyebrow.
"oh! it's nothing. just thinking about tokyo I guess," you say.
"I believe there's a festival in the village today. would my pretty girl like to get some sweets? we'll walk there together."
your ears perk up. "really?" you ask. maybe they'll have matcha dango you loved getting from the stand nearby the temple. maybe they'll even have candy apples. "I would love to go."
walking hand in hand, you stroll to the village center for the festival. suguru holds your hand tight, squeezing it, giving you a small, sweet, smile.
"I know it hasn't been easy for you," he begins "but you're doing a wonderful job. always so obedient, so caring of me. one day, I would like you make you my wife."
you're heart beats faster after the mention of "wife". this was the first time he's ever said the word. could this really be happening?
"I would be honored to," you grin unable to hide your excitement. for the rest of the day, you're elated and bubbly at the possible idea that one day you'll be suguru's permanently.
xxx xxx xxx xxx
he fucks you fast and hard that night, you take every inch of his dick a the good girl you are, leaving his dick inside of you overnight while you sleep in his embrace. the next morning you feel a wave of nausea, throwing up until you puke clear liquid from the depths of your stomach. it could be forming eating too many deserts, but you pull a pregnancy test form behind the mirror cabinet in the bathroom just to be safe, and wait the five longest minutes of your life to find the stick displaying two bright blue lines. your heart sinks.
"suguru...i think.. i might.." you say coming out of the bathroom finding him at the dining table, tears begin welling in your eyes. "I'm pregnant!" you blurt out, shoving the pregnancy test towards him.
he gingerly grabs the stick, taking a few minutes to process the news and then sinks down to his knees at your feet, peppering thousands of kisses at your navel.
"i've been waiting for this moment," he says rubbing your belly. "i cant want to see youre body grow with my child, youre gonna make such a good mama, i promise."
suguru stands up to wipe your tears away, giving you a big hug. you were finally bound to him forever. with his essence inside you and a baby on the way, you could never leave him even if you tried. he rubs your back, letting you sob on his shoulder. you are his for the rest of time.

Halloween Doodles
She'd quickly handed the children costumes, "I know its not celebrated here, not yet at least- but please! I'll bring some tasty treats! And a couple pumpkins too!"
Shippo already exited to change as quickly as he could, "Lady Kagome what's not celebrated?"
Kohaku eyed the fluffy piece she'd handed him, "What is this thing?"
"A costume beard," she giggled, "and Halloween of course!" She spotted Sesshomaru as he entered, "Oh! I have one for you too!"
His eyes clearly unamused blinked slowly, "This one is not a doll-"
"I'll bring you the yuzu lollipops you like so much," she begged.
He seemed to contemplate for a moment, until he pulled the costume from her, "A bag."
She nodded darting away, back down the well. She was back within the hour, changed into a costume of her own and several bags of goodies. Shippo was already at the well when she made it back, "Mama!"
She handed him a large orange sack with a pumpkin on it, "Now it's not all for you, share with Rin and Kohaku."
He nodded, opening a zippy bag grabbing a bright colored worm. Rin giggled happily, "a worm!"
Shippo opened the bag to the two, the worm still hanging out his mouth.
Sesshomaru reached forward into one of her large totes, pulling his prize. "You've brought too much," he spoke lifting one of the totes carrying a bright orange pumpkin.
She laughed a bit nervous, "I'm just a bit excited, sorry." She finally looked at him, really looked at him, "You make a very handsome Legolas."
His eyes seemed to gleam at the compliment, "Hn, and you a very handsome human."
Her laughter carried heavily with mirth, "Why thank you."
It's spooky time, lol

Yuzu Sakamaki belongs to @anxious-twisted-vampire
Yuzu: (Smirking) Oh Sharma~
Kikyo: What do you want now?
Yuzu: I have something to show you
Yuzu pulls Mari next to her
Kikyo: (Shocked and horrified) Mari!!!
Mari's arms and legs are tied up, and a piece of duck tape is covering her mouth. Her hair has been messily cut off, and she has a lot of bruise marks on her. She looks terrified, and tears fall down her face.
Yuzu: Surprise!~ I managed to kidnap your precious little girlfriend
Kikyo: Let her go! (Uses her magic to attack her)
Yuzu: (Blocks it with her powers) Nah, don't think I will. (Holds some kind of knife to Mari) How about this? You keep out of my way, and I won't harm your little whore
Kikyo: (Crying) F-fine...
Yuzu: (Grins) Wonderful. Later, loser! (Leaves, taking Mari with her)
Later
Yuya: Kikyo! Are you okay? What happened?
Kikyo: (Crying) Sh-she took her...
I am so sorry for coming up with this

Ichihime week 2023!
Day 1: Tanabata
Tanabata, "七夕", also known as the "star festival", takes place on the 7th day of the 7th month of the year, when, according to a Chinese legend, the two stars Altair and Vega, which are usually separated from each other by the Milky Way, are able to meet.
--
There is a river in Karakura.
Crossing the Minamikase district, it used to be an uncrossable border splitting her world. The morning would come and she would wonder how he would feel as she got dressed for school. Was he sad, traveling down the path next to the river edge every day? Was this river a cruel reminder of what he believed was his incompetence to protect? Was he angry for the blinding light reflected on the calm water? The night would come at the end of the school day, and she would hope to float down this river, find its source and drench it, empty the sorrows she knew he carried. So many burdens on his young shoulders.
The river reminds her of her brother, of his gentle smile, of his soothing voice, of his laughter, so precious to her heart. Of how she had parted with him in anger and agony the first time. The river had been so agitated that day, so monstrously grey and muddy. For their second parting, she has a feeling the river was calm yet again, just as it was when she and Tatsuki had chased fireflies and gasped in awe at the fireworks.
After graduation, when they were still circling around each other, unsure how to word out their feelings, shy and silly, Ichigo once mentioned how calming the river was to him.
"When mom died... I walked by the bank of the river the entire day, way up to the Kitakawe district." He had smiled, something that was becoming more and more casual for him. "I thought I could find her again if it meant roaming around long enough. But, of course, I didn't. All I found was sadness, and... I don't know. Melancholy, I guess?"
They were sitting on the grass, on the hill by the river, the Saturday morning air gently waving through their hair. She placed a timid hand on his own, hoping to convey some comfort.
"I used to dislike this river, because it reminded me of that day, and the ones after that where a 9-year-old would use his shoes and get blisters from walking all day. But now... I find it a beautiful sight."
Ichigo had blushed deeply, taking Orihime's hand in a successful attempt to make her heart beat faster.
Orihime smiles.
She wished she could be the rain once. The rain that binds people together, that allows one to feel another's pain. She wanted to understand him, help him. She didn't know at the time he too was yearning to help her, shield her from her own tragic past.
Kazui coos in her arms, and she makes a silly face.
"Oh, what is it, baby? You're waiting for Papa, hm?" She raises her arms up to kiss her son on his soft and puffy cheek, which makes him gurgle happily.
She is by the river, watching the calm water sparkle with the dying sun, like oil. It doesn't let the wind break its surface, it stays still and glowing, like billions of gems.
Ichigo is trotting on the bridge to them. He looks so handsome in his two-piece costume, the white shirt two buttons opened for now, his forgotten tie in his hand as he jogs back to them with a dashing smile on his face. His hair is short after a fresh cut, courtesy of Yuzu.
He crosses the bridge separating them hurriedly, as if they have been apart for a whole year.
Kazui waves his little arms at his father, the same smile pulling at his lips. He may have a lot of Orihime's features, like her eyes and eyelashes, as well as her hair, but his smile is the spitting image of Ichigo's.
"Sorry for that, honey." He breathes out, not at all out of breath even after the kilometer he just ran back and forth from their home.
"I would be fine with you not wearing a tie, but since Rukia and Renji insisted on proper clothes..." Orihime teases him, and he winks back at her. "Kazui was growing impatient."
Ichigo kisses his son on the forehead, placing his finger next to the baby's hand for him to grab onto. Kazui immediately takes the opportunity and Orihime chuckles.
"Did I make you impatient too?"
"Of course. 5 minutes without you is enough to make me tap my foot." She jokes, and Ichigo shakes his head mockingly.
"I'll do my best to redeem myself after we visit the Soul Society. Let's get going." He smiles and takes Kazui, offering some relief to the young mother. Kazui is definitely going to get heavier very soon with the way he eats.
They walk together to Urahara's shop, hand in hand, joking and laughing, placing bets on how many people will want to hold Kazui, and how many times people will tease Ichigo for his not-so-new haircut.
She remembers the two lovers from the story. The forbidden love, the punishment. Forced to live separately for a year and allowed only once to see each other again. The weaver princess and her human husband.
Orihime smiles, sending a look at the river. The bridge has been crossed, and their time together is finally here. But never to end.

What do they smell like? Do you think there's specific shampoos, perfumes or anything else everyone would use?
I had to think about this one since I never really gave it any or much thought before.
But after a serious chat with a writer on the team we think that:
Deja
She would rarely use perfume. If she does then it’s the kind that you can’t put a name on it. Like— it just smells sharp and nice, good but not memorable. And it’s because she wouldn’t wanna have a lingering heavy scent.
We also think she would smell like cookies. Not vanilla, or chocolate, but cocoa because of the product she would use for her hair and her lotion. Cocoa butter is very good on her.
Reynah
She would def use perfume that has a fruity smell. Strawberries, oranges, a Spring picnic basket lmao. If not from her perfume then definitely from her shampoo and lotion.
I think it changes often though. Like one day you’d smell watermelon on her then the next it’s cherries. Idk I think I’d get like hungry if I’m to sit next to her.
Cameron
haha, we joke that they smell like fries because of the amount of takeout they get.
But in all seriousness, they probably would smell of lavender. Though not from any hair products and not from any perfume or cologne either. It’s from their aromatherapy, calms them.
Percy
Sorry for the total lack of description here- but we think he smells cold. You know how winter air feels when you breathe in? Yeah, that.
Something more descriptive is cucumber. It’s subtle but fresh, refreshing. His scent’s probably from his shampoo. He just wouldn’t really use cologne.
Jamie
He does use cologne. But it’s the same case as Deja. It just smells clean. Specifics though would be sandalwood, fresh linen, and eucalyptus.
Jamie wouldn’t be a fan of any powerful scents either. He just wants something light.
Lilly, my writer pal, pulled up Palo Santo and Sage from B&BW, and like I never smelled it before but that feels right.
Elio
HEAR US OUT: SUMMER
Like we’re joking, but we both agree that he just smells like the sun. Which is funny because in Tagalog we have a phrase for that but it’s not as cute sounding. But I still think it applies since he would be out and about often.
Other than that, apples and citrus came to mind too. Lilly says, Yuzu fruits smell like that so we’re rolling with it! Oh, and ocean spray- that also feels like Elio.
This question really did stump me haha I’m like- gonna go visit a local candle store or something soon for research. But all in all we don’t think the cast would overall care about using perfume or cologne save for Reynah and Jamie!

a little birthday bite for @weird-dere-fics! happy birthday twy, hope you’re having the best day 🍓 divider by cafekitsune
Tumblr media
One of the benefits to working from home is that it allows Ichigo the freedom to truly celebrate you, the woman he loves so much, exactly how he wants.
“No, no, “ he mutters to himself while looking at the distance he has spaced two balloons out over the doorway to your home. He has never considered himself much of a perfectionist, most of the things he is able to accomplish with ease coming naturally rather than with skill, but for you? Nothing will ever be perfect enough. This is something that drives his father and sisters insane but they know as a unit that it’s out of nothing but love.
Hell, his dad remembers feeling the exact same way about his mother when the two of them first met. Nothing will ever be good enough, least of all themselves.
Isshin, Yuzu, and Karin are attempting to help him by keeping their distance in the kitchen, taking turns sugaring strawberries to put atop your cake. Ichigo baked the cake this morning, right after you left the house for your carefully pre-planned by your husband day of being pampered and the other Kurosaki’s argue over how to best arrange the red fruits.
“To the left, like this!” Isshin urges and his daughters roll their eyes and scoff in unison, nudging a berry a few scant centimeters to the left. Their father flashes a thumbs up in approval and calls for your husband who walks into the kitchen with a huff, red hair drooping over his forehead.
“What?”
Isshin chuckles and pats his son on the back.
“Wanted to show you the cake. Okay with you?”
He looks down at the cake with a visible frown, nudging the strawberry his sisters just moved left back toward the right with his thumb. The girls stay silent, watching their brother fidget and fuss, and then he sighs defeatedly.
“I’m sorry, I just want everything to be perfect for her.” The three of them rub Ichigo’s back reassuringly and the girls smile at him, Yuzu speaking up and patting the back of her brothers’ hand. “It will be, Ichigo. She isn’t going to hold it against you if a strawberry is a little off center.”
Ichigo reluctantly agrees and leaves the cake alone, pacing across the kitchen floor.
“I still have to start dinner and then there is tonight and…”
His father claps his hand on his back, squeezing his shoulder just as he did when he was a child. It’s a means to calm him down and reassure him and it works, the man you love straightening his back out immediately.
“It’ll be fine, son. Besides, I heard keys in the door so it’s not like you can do any more planning than you already have.”
Ichigo’s face falls but he lights up immediately, reminding himself that you are coming home to him on your special day. He steels his resolve, as he has had to do many times in his life, and walks to the door to greet you with flowers in hand. His sisters quickly fuss with his hair as he walks, combing their fingers through it to make the stressed droop stand up and he grins brightly as you walk through the door.
“Happy birthday, beautiful.”
You giggle, surprised to see him standing there, and reach out for him in an instant. The world disappears when the two of you are together and this is no different, the only thing that exists is the two of you in the entryway of your home. He leans downward to kiss you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you close.

The confusion was mutual as their eyes met and their lips opened with a singular, united question: “Who are you?”
In each other, they both saw a patchwork of people similar enough but not good enough to satisfy this question. Ray saw bits and pieces of her childhood friends, peers, and rivals. Her head ached as her heart tore apart. She knew who this girl in front of her saw but listen. She was not her and her was not she, either.
Eyes wide open, heart devoured by rancour and upset, Masumi saw Yuzu but… Yuzu’s hair was pink. Not red. She had only wanted to see Yuzu as this girl - no, woman, she looked older than eighteen at the very least - came into focus against the memories Masumi had of Yuzu.
“Do I know you?” Ray asked.
Masumi shook her head, “I don’t think so but…”
“You knew one of them?” Ray asked.
“Yes.” Masumi replied. “I knew Yuzu.”
“Ah, the Standard girl, the En Flowers card holder…” Ray murmured and she pulled her hand to her chest, her fingers curled into a fist. “I’m sorry for your loss.”
   Masumi bit her tongue.
Was it a loss if she had never existed at all?
Except it was. The ache in her chest, the way she bristled over how unfair it was, that was very, very real. No one could deny that.
Ray’s maroon eyes saddened, turned a jewel tone, “You weren’t one of the Lancers, one of my brother’s recruits, were you?” Ray asked.
The word ‘brother’ felt clunky in her mouth. For her life up until now, she had been an only child. Now she was the eldest of three.
“No, I was carded.” Masumi shrugged.
Ray nodded her head and mumbled sympathetically, “I’m sorry.” She apologised on her father’s behest. It was all her fault, in a way, but not at all in many others.
“Don’t be.” Masumi spat and she was fast losing interest in this.
“Well, um, I better be going. I still have more to do so I can get a foothold in, um, what’s going on.” Ray said.
“Yeah, seems like a lot of people want a piece of you.” Masumi said.
   “Yeah…” Ray agreed.
“I’ll see you around.” Masumi said and she walked off, a thorn in her side.
   Ray sighed.
She knew she was going to have a lot of interactions like that. Especially as people drew in from beyond the immediate sphere of action, taken by her Father, Academia, her brother, the Lancers, and more.
   Masumi was just the first.
She was going to be last.
That’s what Ray decided because Masumi kept coming back.
She had to. She wanted her friend back. She wanted her rival back. She wanted her first love back.
Masumi held onto things tightly, strongly, firmly. Especially if they were grudges. She had an analytic mind and an insatiable need to be right. She also had an insatiable need to be challenged, also. It was unjust and plainly, not fun either, to be elite by virtue of domineering over everyone. It had to be an even playing field.
That’s why she latched onto Yuzu. She had seen that shine of potential and it just needed some polishing then it would turn into a full of lustre that Masumi would be dazzled by, she was sure but Yuzu didn’t exist anymore. She never had.
Yuzu had been a trick of the light. A blessed seal on a dragon. She had just been a portion - a quarter - of a different person.
Masumi didn’t really get it and despite how she hounded Akaba Reiji, his lips were sealed.
The rest of the Lancers were in shambles, too, so she wasn’t going to get anything out of them either. Yuya no longer existed either and because of that, Gongenzaka was in a deep, manly mourning. Sora and Dennis were horror stricken by how the Professor had gotten what he wanted so their work as child soldiers were validated. Kurosaki was robbed of his younger sister, the one he had been fighting for and his comrade, too, his best friend was gone. They were a part of Zarc much the same way Yuzu and Ruri were a part of Ray.
So it was clear to Masumi that the only way she would get an answer was by going straight to the top. To the girl that Yuzu had been a part of. But that girl - that woman - didn’t want to be a part of Yuzu like everyone around her wanted her to be.
She was her own, real person, after all.
“Did you treat Yuzu this way, too?” Ray asked, sick of being pursued by Masumi.
For answers, for duels, for affection, for anything.
Masumi harrumphed and folded her arms, “Maybe.”
“You’re a cute girl, Masumi,” Ray chuckled and Masumi felt her heart flutter, “and I have something for you.”
Masumi postured. Her schoolgirl crush was as plain on her face as her nose, her eyes widened and she pushed her shoulders back. There was even a scant trace of a burgundy blush in her cheeks as she had hassled Ray out of her seat just by appearing before her.
Being an Akaba meant she had to do Akaba things like enjoy the facilities of LDS. That’s where Masumi was often able to make her path cross with Ray given that she was still an LDS student.
“I had actually been hoping to run into you here,” Ray said, “I had been waiting for the right time to give this to you and I think it should be now.”
The sensation of her blush and her crush now even burned in the tips of Masumi’s ears as she watched Ray. Everything she did had a mature grace to it. She knew who she was. Even if no one else did. Her titles and accolades had been destroyed in the merging and splitting of worlds but Ray still embodied them.
She stood up and bent around to her far side to where Masumi couldn’t see. Try as she might, though. She tried to follow, bending at the hip so she could see what Ray’s body obscured, what she had been sitting with in this nook which belonged to the in-between of this floor’s library and kiosk which provided refreshments.
   “Here you go.” Ray said.
She presented Masumi with a bouquet. The verdant green stems were wrapped in shiny, pink plastic. The ends of them still dripped with water whilst turning a faded green. Then, from the carefully wrapped folds, emerged the flowers. They were beautiful and abundant. The petals were large and came in pairs of two at the bulb; a brilliant and warm pink on the outside but a soft white on the inside.
Masumi’s interests lay in crystals, gemstones, and minerals. Not flowers so she didn’t immediately recognise them - but she could say the same thing about the ethereal gems once inlaid in Yuzu’s bracelet. It, too, gone and vanished with her…
Recognising that Masumi didn’t know what to say nor how to identify them, Ray spoke up.
“They’re sweetpeas,” she said, “and they symbolise farewells.”
“Pardon?” Masumi’s voice sounded hostile, her eyebrows furrowed and her shoulders rose, ready to become hackles. She didn’t want to jump to a conclusion but she already had.
“I’m saying goodbye, Masumi.” Ray said. “We don’t know each other and I see no reason for us to know each other. Just because I remind you of a girl that I…”
   “That you killed.” Masumi said.
“I didn’t kill her,” Ray murmured, “I am her restored.”
“But that doesn’t make you her.” Masumi said.
“Exactly.” Ray agreed with a smile. “Now, let’s depart on good terms. Besides, I’m way too old for you.”
Masumi pouted. Not exactly beating that allegation there. She, for one, thought she was plenty mature.
“Our paths were never meant to cross, either. We are from different worlds, literally, timelines, even.” Ray continued to lecture her but her voice was steeped in a tone of apology. “So, let this be goodbye. I have plenty of tethers as is but I need to go my own way…”
“This is so unfair.” Masumi said, her voice cracked as her eyes began to turn wet with tears. She blinked them back hard, however. “You don’t get to say goodbye to me.”
Masumi began to crinkle with the sob that she was holding back - and the furor that was keeping her dry within the typhoon of her feelings as her heartbroke. Her shoulders quivered, her arms tensed.
“I didn’t get to say goodbye to Yuzu.” Masumi snivelled. “So you don’t get to say it for her.”
“Please, Masumi, don’t make this any harder than it needs to be.” Ray begged as she offered the bouquet to Masumi. “You’ll understand one day. Just trust me, okay?”
Reluctantly Masumi accepted the bouquet but because of the plastic shielding them, they didn’t feel real to her. Nor did they feel like love or apology. Just a token to placate her. Even so, she squeezed her arms around them in a hug, thinking about Yuzu’s bony shoulders and her thin frame and the fizzy perfume of the sweetpeas, too. A scent which mimicked Yuzu, who was citric-smelling, just enough to make Masumi cry, releasing a tear from her eye that dribbled down the side of her cheek.
“Thank you, Masumi,” Ray said, “and goodbye, sweetpea.”
   “Goodbye.” Masumi cried.

Arc-V Month Day 13: Abyss Beneath a Smile
A bit behind, but I have a reason for this. And that's I promised to talk about this bastard:
Tumblr media
Aaand I spent all of yesterday unable to come up what I wanted to say. It just be like that sometimes. In fairness, part of the reason for that is that Roget is far from the deepest villain. He’s a simple, but really fun antagonist you love to hate. And sometimes, that’s all you need.
From the moment the Lancers arrive in the Synchro Dimension, he seems untouchable, smugly manipulating everyone from his place of control while the main cast is down in the City suffering. This combined with all the nasty shit he pulls makes you wanna see him go down, and boy does Arc-V deliver in that front. His VA nails his breakdown perfectly, that “SERGEY” scream lives rent-free in my mind.
He’s also a type of villain I personally adore, which is the Smug Snake who thinks they’re hot shit, but is actually pathetic in the grand scheme of things. His “grand scheme” of controlling one city is called out by Reiji to be pathetic, and despite all his boasting, he’s always scared shitless of Yuri and of Academia, capturing Yuzu and Serena simply as a chip to trade in case he needs to save his sorry-ass.
Control is his whole thing, shown through the recurring chess motifs and his brainwashing of Security, Sergey (sorta), and attempted brainwashing of Yuya. And I love how, once the Commons start rioting, he and Yuya’s plan are, at a glance, the same. He wants to, via Sergey, defeat Jack and unite the city… difference being that he wants to crush the city’s dreams to have them united under his control, whereas Yuya wants to bring everyone together smiling. It’s such a cool little set-up, having both the villain and hero seek the same goal, but in such different ways.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Sergey, let me talk a bit about him. I’ll admit, when I first learned Sergey would duel Jack I thought it was random and lame that a Legacy Character would defeat the Big Bad (or his proxy, in this case). Especially when everything seems set-up to have Yuya get revenge for what he did to Yuzu, standard Shonen stuff. Instead, they made the decision of having Sergey BEAT Yuya (admittedly, Barret did most of the damage, through his lame “you cant play Yugioh” traps, but that’s besides the point) and have Jack be the one to defeat him. But while I’m sure some edgy side of the fanbase would've loved to have seen Awakened Yuya beat his ass, I feel it works because through their duel Jack shows that even terrible people like Sergey can be reached, hence why he rejects Roget’s control and stops grabbing Action Cards (a good use of Action Cards post-Standard, who would’ve thunk?). It also hammers the point that Yuya, despite being the protagonist, isn’t your standard Shonen hero whose role is to defeat the bad guy, but to inspire others and be the one who brings everyone’s strength together.
Anyways, TL:DR evil French bastard fun too root against, but also certified pathetic manfailure.

Yuzugiri Fanfic
I started this like a year ago (wrote the first few paragraphs) and on a plane ride back from a trip, I wrote the first chapter. It’s most likely only going to be 2 chapters and I’ll upload them to AO3 and maybe Wattpad sometime this month. I hope you enjoy (and if you have any comments/criticism please leave it in the comments) :
Rate: Teen and Up (it’s definitely NSFW)
Me and My Girl, We’ve Got this Relationship
As the morning sun dripped through the clouds, Sagiri’s hand raised in an attempt to block her face, only for the action to be stopped by the weight of another person.
“Is it morning already?” Yuzuriha asked, stirring from her sleep
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you,” Sagiri whispered, moving slightly so she could kiss Yuzuriha’s nose.
“Mmm… it’s fine,” Yuzuriha responded, leaning into Sagiri’s kiss, wrapping her arms around Sagiri’s waist. “You’re so warm.”
Sagiri breathed in the flowery scent of Yuzuriha’s hair as she snuggled back in, running her hand along the small of Yuzuriha’s back while playing with her hair, lulling her back to sleep
Sagiri felt Yuzuriha’s breathing even out, and as she pulled back slightly, she realized that Yuzuriha had fallen back asleep. She looked down at her girlfriend with soft eyes.
Sagiri tried, as quietly and with as little movement as she could, to get out of bed, delicately separating Yuzuriha’s hands from her waist. As Sagiri motioned to get out of bed, she heard the mattress squeaking behind her. Holding her breath, Sagiri turned around to see Yuzuriha tossing around in bed. She sighed in relief as she finally made her way to the door.
“Sagirin, you’re cold,” Yuzuriha slurred in her sleep, hugging one of their many silk-covered pillows. Sagiri smiled to herself, reveling in the cuteness of her girlfriend. She walked as softly as she could out of their room, closing their door quietly as she left, and entered their guest bathroom to brush her teeth.
As soon as she was done, she walked to the kitchen to start preparing their breakfast, removing the leftover rice from last night’s dinner from the fridge, as well as a few eggs, some pork belly, chives and some sesame oil and soy sauce from the pantry.
She started by putting the rice in the microwave, setting the timer for a little longer than usual to make sure it was still warm by the time all of the ingredients were ready, then started on the pork belly, frying the meat in the fat that was produced from cooking. Then using the leftover fat to cook the eggs, making sure that they were flavorful. As soon as those were done, she chopped the chives up in record speed and started the plating process, grabbing two bowls and scooping equal amounts of rice into both of them. Then delicately placing the fried eggs on top, making sure the yolks didn’t break before placing the pork around the whole bowl, again avoiding the fickle egg yolk. The last few touches were a sprinkle of chives, and a drizzle of both the sesame oil and the soy sauce. It was a minimal breakfast, but it was the type of thing that she knew her Yuzu would love.
Realizing that she didn’t have anything to help the food go down, she prepared a simple mimosa with the orange juice they had in the fridge and some of the expensive champagne they had stored away from Gabimaru and Yui’s last anniversary party. Champagne was given as a gift to all of the guests, but Yui had specially gifted this one to Sagiri knowing that an important day was coming up.
Carrying the tray of with the food and beverages of theirs precariously with one hand, she opened the door to their room and watched as her girlfriend stirred awake sleepily, rubbing her eyes slowly as the sound of footsteps approached.
“What’s all of this?” Yuzuriha asked incredulously as she noticed the things in Sagiri’s hands.
“Happy birthday, Yuzu! I think it’s best to start off a good day with breakfast in bed, don’t you?” Sagiri said, smiling as she placed the tray in the middle of the bed.
“If I say ‘Oh no, you shouldn’t have!’ I would be lying, because this looks hella good,” Yuzuriha said, marveling at the food her girlfriend prepared for her. “I guess my baby Sagi can do anything, can’t she!? Thank you, Sagirin.”
“It was the least I could do for the best girlfriend in the entire world,” Sagiri said, and she could see Yuzuriha melt at the words “This is just the start of the festivities. We have a lot to do today, but my favorite surprise is going to be after dinner.”
“I can’t wait for that then,” Yuzuriha said, grinning from ear to ear as she pressed a kiss to Sagiri’s lips. Starting off as just one chaste kiss, it quickly turned into two, then three, then, as quickly as it started, they both started to deepen the kiss. Yuzuriha opened her mouth to let Sagiri’s tongue slide in, then tangled their tongues together. Stifled moans escaped both of their mouths as the kiss got more intense. It seemed like forever until Yuzuriha pulled back a little to nibble softly at Sagiri’s bottom lip, causing a sound akin to a whine to escape from Sagiri’s throat. By chance she looked over to her side and saw the food that she had made sitting in the middle of the bed, still uneaten.
“The food! God, I completely forgot! We need to eat it quick before it gets cold,” Sagiri said, passing Yuzuriha a pair of chopsticks and her bowl of food.
“Hahahaha!” Yuzuriha giggled, “You’re so cute, Sagirin.” Yuzuriha poked her nose before digging into her food.
———————————————————————
The day went by eventfully. First with a trip to the mall to indulge Yuzuriha in her horrible habit of overspending, except instead of spending her own money, she was now spending Sagiri’s (though Sagiri enjoyed seeing Yuzuriha’s eyes light up as she picked out different clothes).
Next was the amusement park. Sagiri was never too fond of roller coasters, but with Yuzuriha, even the most mundane activities were more than enjoyable.
Lastly was dinner with Gabimaru and Yui. Where Gabimaru personally cooked all of the dishes.
“I didn’t know you were such a good cook!” Sagiri had said during the dinner
“Well, he does cook most of the meals in this house,” Yui answered, smiling proudly, “I can’t cook to save my life, so I guess that’s just another thing that I’m grateful to my amazing husband for.” Out of the corner of her eye, Sagiri noticed Gabimaru blush a deep red, and she smiled to herself.
As they walked from Gabimaru and Yui’s house, feeling full as ever and verging on the cusp of feeling tired, Yuzuriha suddenly stopped in her tracks.
“I knew I was forgetting something! You said that there was a surprise after dinner, didn’t you?” She said, smiling mischievously
“That’s right, but you’re going to have to wait til we get home.” Sagiri said, bumping shoulders with Yuzuriha softly as she started running ahead of her.
“Hey, wait for me!” Yuzuriha said, running after her, giggling as she caught up.
In a few minutes, they were at their door, which Sagiri used the key in her hand to open. Pushing the door ajar, she turned on the lights in the hallway and turned to Yuzuriha.
“Sit on the couch, I’ll be back in a bit,” She said, placing a featherlight kiss on Yuzuriha’s cheek before entering their room and locking the door.
Yuzuriha sat down and smiled to herself, wondering what in the world her surprise could be.
After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, Yuzuriha spoke from her place on the couch:
“Are you almost done in there?”
“Yeah, I’m coming out now,” Sagiri replied, finally opening the door and stepping out, watching as Yuzuriha’s jaw dropped to the floor.
Sagiri was wearing a floor length black Chinese dress, patterned with beautifully sewn peonies, accompanied with heels that accentuated her already long legs, and a hip length slit that showed off the garter belt that hugged her toned thigh. Her hair that was usually tied up in a high ponytail was now falling down her shoulders in dark brown waves.
“Are you going to stop drooling anytime soon?” Sagiri teased as she walked closer to her girlfriend, a light pink dusting her cheeks as she was not used to being observed this thoroughly.
“You just look so… wow,” Yuzuriha said, looking Sagiri up and down as she sauntered her way over to where Yuzuriha was sitting, the sound of the heels clacking in the floor being partially muffled due to the thin carpet that sat in the middle of their living room. “This is honestly the best present you could have ever given me.”
When Sagiri got close enough, she positioned herself to where she was straddling both of Yuzuriha’s legs, the dress shifting over to one side. She ran her hands through Yuzuriha’s hair as she placed both of her hands around her neck.
“I’m all yours tonight,” Sagiri said, whispering in her ear, causing a shiver to roll down her spine. A quick glance and Yuzuriha could tell that Sagiri was completely naked beneath the dress, no undergarments. She smirked to herself.
“Well, I’ll make sure to make the best use of you,” Yuzuriha said. Although the statement was more that raunchy, the smile that she had on her face was one of comfort rather than a suggestive one.
Yuzuriha grabbed both of Sagiri’s pleasantly round ass cheeks in her hands and hoisted her up as she stood up herself, causing Sagiri to wrap her legs around Yuzuriha’s waist before her lips were enveloped in a hungry kiss. A clash of mostly tongues and teeth. It was a kiss that caused a heat to flow from her head to her groin as Yuzuriha walked her around, sometimes stopping at walls and windows to pin Sagiri up against and kiss her even harder raking a hand through Sagiri’s soft hair while Sagiri had her own hands firmly planted on Yuzuriha’s neck.
Sagiri barely registered the bedroom door opening before she was softly tossed onto the bed. She watched as Yuzuriha removed the blouse and pants that she had been sporting and stripped down to just her bra and underwear. She did it slow enough that every movement looked seductive, but it was also slow enough that Sagiri wanted to get up and rip the clothes off her by herself.
Crawling onto the bed with Sagiri, she looked positively ravenous, staring at her precious girlfriend whose lips were red and swollen, and cheeks seemed to be painted pink. Her once neat hair was now messy beyond belief. She looked completely debauched and it was definitely a sight to behold.
“Seeing you like this makes me want to devour you whole,” Yuzuriha said, her lips dangerously close to Sagiri’s neck, goosebumps raising on Sagiri’s skin.
“Well, as I said, I’m you- Ah!” Sagiri started before Yuzuriha softly bit her neck. The sentence devolving into moans of pleasure. She stayed in that position, licking and sucking at the sensitive spot before moving downwards in order to grope Sagiri’s breasts through the dress. The weight of them in her hands was more satisfying than any stress ball. Hearing Sagiri’s quiet whines, she moved to suck and bite on a perky nipple through the fabric of the beautiful dress. Sagiri’s body jolted at the sensation and she slightly arched her back, feeling a heat again pool around her lower half.
“Has anyone ever told you that you have amazing boobs?” Yuzuriha asked, looking up from the nipple she was working on with a suggestive smile on her face as Sagiri undid the strap for Yuzuriha’s bra and started palming as her breasts.
“You have… multiple times,” Sagiri struggled through labored breaths. Yuzuriha smiled knowingly as she moved down Sagiri’s body, making sure her hands wandered everywhere they could, memorizing the shape of Sagiri’s body. She tugged at the dress slightly as she spoke:
“It was fun while it lasted, but it seems like we have to part ways,” She said, a glint in her eyes as she hiked the dress up to Sagiri’s torso, exposing a harness that the garter belts were attached to, and, Yuzuriha noticed after she removed the dress fully, also seemed to be attached to a lace choker that Yuzuriha had somehow not taken note of before.
As she passed her eyes over the harness, she marveled at how the accessory hugged her curves perfectly and how the strap that passed in between her ‘carved by Michelangelo’-breasts made them seem all the more prominent.
“You’re packed with all kinds of surprises today,” Yuzuriha exclaimed, a look of wonderment remaining present on her face “You’re absolutely stunning.” She continued, before leaving a trail of kisses from the top of her neck, down to her abdomen, then positioning her face right between Sagiri’s thighs, placing a light kiss on the inside of one of them
“You’re so wet down here, I feel like I could drown,” She said, lightly blowing on Sagiri’s pussy. The slightly cool air causing Sagiri’s whole body to convulse due to it being the first bit of stimulation her lower body had gotten all day.
“Yuzu~,” Sagiri said, moaning her name rather than speaking it as Yuzuriha dove headfirst into her warmth. She started with light kitten licks then gradually grew to her flattening her tongue and licking a long stripe across her entire pussy. She bit her hand to make sure not to let the ungodly sound that was bubbling up in the back of her throat come spilling out as an intense tingling sensation was slowly rolling down her entire body, but mainly focusing on her groin.
Seeing her partner feeling such intense pleasure made Yuzuriha even more horny than she already was. She started sucking on Sagiri’s clit, wanting to wring out all of the noises that she had in her, as she placed her fingers inside her own hole. It started slow, then her fingers went frantically in and out, trying to catch the fleeting feeling of delicious pressure that concentrated down there when she hit that certain spot. Simultaneously riding her own fingers and eating Sagiri out was almost too much for her, she could feel herself getting ready to climax, and from the way that Sagiri’s toes were curling, her hole was clenching, and the way she was bucking into the friction of Yuzuriha’s mouth, she could tell that Sagiri was close too. Yuzuriha lifted her head for a second to speak:
“Let’s come together,” Her light breath against her pussy and the few sucks that came after that were enough for Sagiri as the heat that was pooling up in her came to a crescendo. She started shaking as Yuzuriha helped her ride out the orgasm, softly licking her and moaning Sagiri’s name, as her own orgasm spasmed around her fingers. Sagiri was surprised that she even had the consciousness to do so, since Yuzuriha’s orgasm, from what she could see at least, seemed to cause her entire body to convulse.
As Yuzuriha removed her face from where it was situated between Sagiri’s legs, panting as she licked the wetness from her lips, it prompted Sagiri to notice how damp Yuzuriha’s entire face was, the shade of red on her cheeks deepening and glowing from the aftershock.
Seeing Yuzuriha’s fingers still stuck knuckle-deep in her own hole, Sagiri remembered the second part of the after-dinner present. She quickly ran to their walk-in closer to grab something.
“Where are you going? Are you the fuck-and-run type?” Yuzuriha asked teasingly before being, once again, awestruck at what she saw before her.
Her girlfriend sported a hot pink strap-on, with lube in one hand.
“Don’t you think this will feel better than your fingers, Yuzu~?” Sagiri said, with the biggest smirk Yuzuriha has ever seen on her and Yuzuriha could swear that she felt her hole twitch.

Hello! Do you think Yuzuru will appear in a bad light in the Javier documentary? (Or like in a shady way, that they don't say bad things about him outright, but just suggest it, and manipulate people with the "poor Javi" agenda...) Like, I don't know where you exactly stand with Javier, but my opinion shifted about him so hard after what he pulled last year in connection with the Olympics. He talked about Yuzu's fall as a "fs specialist", saying stuff like Yuzuru was overdaramtic, he fucked up the jump and just used the hole as an excuse (I'm paraphrasing, obviously, but he actually said this). I watched the original spanish too, ha absolutely was throwing shade at Yuzu. His previous actions seemed shady in this knew light too: he complained after Pyeongchang that he should have been second and Shoma was overscored (f ing not!), and right before the medal ceremony announcing that he will retire so that the whole thing would be about him, because he wasn't satisfied with 3rd... Calling in intverviews after retirement Yuzu an acquaintance, when they were supposed to be the biggest friends... I don't know, I think he was always just jealous of Yuzu and trying to use him for fame. He seems shady. His skating was OK (((not better than Shoma or Yuzu, comeon!...))), but he's a slimy dude, and more people should acknowledge it, I think. (Sorry, this turned into a rant more than a question...)
@anon I don't know if this is the kind of "answer" you were hoping for and ranting about something that is on your mind is fine with me, but in this case I don't share the view or adressed worry...
I don't think Yuzu will appear in a bad light in this. Why would he? First Javi isn't the one to create this he is the subject, so the narrative is created by the creator. And 2nd the focus of the documentary is Javi, not Yuzu and Javi's relationship, so what sense would it make to throw shade at other skaters who are included as compatriots and "friends"? I also question if Yuzu was really specifically interviewed for this documentary or if he is just included as part of Javi's story.
For starters I don't think there is any bad blood between Yuzu and Javi. They appeared happy alongside each other at FaoI and the backstage stuff doesn't show any bad mood. I just think they just don't have much in common nowadays apart from the sport and didn't meet much in the years after Javi's retirement.
I am actually quite neutral towards Javi. I liked his skating fair enough (I have seen him live and he was a very good skater who can emote and connect well with an audience) Javi appaeared to be a lot more on the socializing site in TCC, also appears to be outgoing and from the things I know he was going out with others from TCC. So his personality seems vastly different to Yuzu's.
About Yuzu's and Javi's "friendship": According to Javi and Yuzu himself Yuzu wasn't part of the group that went out for dinner after practice or who did much socializing with the other skaters. Yuzu himself said that his focus in Canada was always on training and he didn't go out just back and forth from training. So when I read that I thought that sharing the ice was the connection between Yuzu and Javi and this was their common ground where they shared mutual experiences and this brought them closer to each other. But imo their view on their friendship has been very different from each side. Imo for Javi Yuzu was always one of his skating friends, not THE best skating friend. I don't think there was bad blood in any way though and obviously both profited from one another skating wise and tbh it seems to have been enough for both of them. The narrative of the "best friends" was one that fans (and shippers) created and not one that Yuzu and Javi actually articulated as one at least not to my knowledge. They always showed respect to each other, showed happiness sharing the ice, they have been close as competitors but they were also rivals competing for the same goals and happened to have very different personalities, I am sure it wasn't always easy or always pleasant but it doesn't mean it was no friendship or fake.
(little sidenote about views on friendship: Let me just tell you from personal experience that some ppl call others friends far more easily than others. I call very few ppl friends and it's not meant negative towards anyone else if I don't count them it doesn't mean the relationship I have with them is fake, it's just that I view friendship differently than some others who call almost anyone they spend more time with friends. I don't mean to put Javi or Yuzu into any of these categories but my personal experience showed me that ppl expect different stuff from friends and as long as everyone is happy, what's the harm?
About Beijing: I don't like what Javi said about Yuzu and especially not how it came across. However I think that ppl were a lot overdramatic about Javi's comment with the hole at Beijing Olympics. Javi could have been a lot more diplomatic in his answer and it wasn't nice to accuse Yuzu of using the hole as an excuse and I am not sure why he voiced it like this. But I don't particularly think that Javi directly accused him of lying just that he thinks the hole was used as an excuse. (some may see it still as lying but I don't) I don't understand Spanish so I cannot say what words exactly Javi used and if ppl already formed an opinion it's hard to trust Fanyus translations of that matter. So as I didn't read anyone neutral it's hard to fully comprehend Javi's comment and to me most Spanish comments sound shady so I wouldn't judge that by the tone. My only explanation for Javi's words is that as a competitor himself he also dealt with holes in the ice his whole career just like every skater hence he thinks it's an excuse to use. He was asked for his opinion, he gave one. It doesn't mean anyone has to agree. Tbh this "cancel Javi culture" was getting on my nerves. And even if I do think Javi's comments were shady (from the stuff I know about it) I think it's not our place to judge if that has any influence on their relationship/friendship. We don't know what they talk about behind closed doors and to call him a fake friend after everything else nice he also said about Yuzu, also at Beijing, imo is far fetched for my liking.
As for Shoma and the Pyeongchang Olympics: The truth is that if the technical panel would have called Shoma's 4Loop as underrotated Javi would have won Silver. I can admit that as a Shoma fan though I do think that the placement was fine. But admittedly they could have switched places and it would have been fine with me too. So in a way him saying that he could have gotten Silver is not wrong, maybe a bit arrogant, but it's also honest...I also think you have to take into account the way he was asked about it. Both times I am aware of him saying he could have gotten silver the interviewer was very keen on receiving this particular answer with compliments and a way of asking where he couldn't quite say anything else. It's not like he brought it up himself.
As for the situation before the medal ceremony in Pyeongchang: At this point when they got the medals he wasn't aware of that judging "issues". I don't think he was unhappy with his medal in this moment or is unhappy overall. I would also give Javi the benefit of the doubt about him telling Yuzu he would retire in this moment. Emotions were high in this moment and I think he may just have realized they would share a podium for the last time. When Javi later spoke in a documentary about this moment he had tears in his eyes and was emotionally overwhelmed still. I don't think you could fake that. I think this situation is something we cannot fully understand as simple fans. Interpretating it as Javi grabbing for attention is far fetched. The attention at this moment was on all 3 of them, mostly on Yuzu, but each of them wrote history for their country that day. If all this situation was perceived at this moment as rivals sharing an emotional moment and the hugging as positive, when in Sochi or Vancouver the men podium did not show any kind of connection to each other on the contrary for example Plushenko was even outright disrespectful towards Lysacek by getting on the Gold spot first in 2010.
I don't know what Javi should be jealous of about Yuzu? That he got Olympic Gold and he didn't or that Yuzu won more medals? Hm...it doesn't appear to me like that at all. I don't think Javi used Yuzu for clout or fame in his career. Javi made himself a name in his home country and Yuzu is not that big of a name in Spain to attract more attention than Javi imo (skating is not a very popular sport in Spain). Also Javi made himself quite a name in the skating world by becoming multiple European and World Champion before Yuzu's name was on the scale of popularity it reached after Pyeongchang. Javi didn't post pics unnecessarily often with Yuzu on social media, I didn't see him talking about Yuzu more often except when he was asked. So I don't know how he can be viewed as using Yuzu for attention but I am also not aware of everything he said.
Overall I think you made a lot of negative assumptions because of the negative way you view Javi. I see that stuff you mentioned can be interpretated in that sense and I don't know the truth either, but I'd rather give ppl that I do not know personally the benefit of the doubt. We should be aware that the view you shared or I shared are only our interpretations with no proof of truth. We do not know Yuzu or Javi personally, we don't actually know what kind of relationship they had and there is the possibility it changed over the years, could also be that they have been friends and now grown apart, could be that Yuzu is aware of that "hole" comment and didn't mind, could be that he doesn't even know it. We can assume a lot of stuff...I like to stick to a more neutral or positive view on stuff. What does it do for me to think this negatively about a skater or a relationship that is none of my business to judge? Who cares about what we think about Javi and Yuzu, what matters is what they think about each other and how they perceive their relationship be it friendship or anything else.
And going back to the start if Yuzu would appear in a bad light in a documentary about Javi...it actually didn't even cross my mind that this would be a thing to worry about. The focus of that documentary is Javi's career, Yuzu will be part of it but not the center of the story. (maybe my own post made it sound like Yuzu is a focus but what I read about it, it's not a focus at all.) So I don't think you would have to worry about a negative impact on Yuzu.
___
Sorry for the wall of text, I was not sure if to post it bc it's actually not related to anything atm and I know answering would take quite a while, but maybe it makes a bit clearer on where I stand with my view on Javi. So I hope you can make use of my opinion in any way...
I also don't want to adress it again, but you may ask if any of my text was unclear. Javi is not really a skater on my radar much, but if I see Javi and Yuzu content I will share it. Also Pyeongchang was peak figure skating and it will remain my favorite Olympic podium.

ARC - V Month Day 8 - The Regular- ah, Standard Show
Late post again! Sry, @arcvmonth!
A/N: Man im not sure how this turned out exactly, but I'm quite fine with it.
I wrote this before the day but didn't finish it lol. I did now and this is more just a Yuya/Yuzu kidfic (where they're kids. Thats what kidfic stands for right?) rlly with some random things here and there... But yeah.
(For the song mentioned, the beat & tune is from the one made by Sleeping at Last btw! Just look up [the song title] by Sleeping at Last. If u want a diff tempo tho its ok)
Oh, word count is just 2k in average. And Yuya & Yuzu r 'round 11 here.
Pairings: Yuya/Yuzu
Warnings: None. Just some mentions of getting bullied if that counts
Yuya sat at the part of Maiami that overlooks its huge stadium—the place he always goes when he’s sad or wants to go away to a place away from people.
What happened this time is something more mature people would consider ridiculous… for the first part, anyway.
Today, he saw a group of kids climbing a tree together with Yuzu and Gongenzaka as they went home from school.
Little Yuya wanted to try climbing the tree himself, ignoring Yuzu and Gongenzaka’s protests and warnings because he wanted to try what the other kids were doing.
This… did not end well.
The other kids wanted the tree for themselves and as a result, they dueled for it, and Yuya lost greatly.
What was worse, they made fun of his dad, reminding him of how he was a coward because he didn’t show up to his duel against Strong Ishijima.
Now, Yuya didn’t like that they said that and got into a physical fight with them. Gong helped out, and so did Yuzu, but at some point he couldn’t handle it—the painful reminder of his dad, not the fight—anymore and just… ran.
The kids called him a coward too for doing so. It hurt, though they were right… The truth always hurts, as people’d say.
So what was supposed to be just him wanting to climb a tree had turned into a remembrance about his dad.
It’s always his dad, huh…
‘They didn’t need to remind me that…’ Yuya thought, looking at the sunset through his goggles, which was filled with quite a lot of tears.
“Yuya!” Yuzu’s voice echoed from behind him.
He quickly took his goggles off, dropped the water from them, and wiped his eyes.
“Yuya…” He heard the relief clear in Yuzu’s voice. Turning around, he saw Yuzu happily running up to him, her little pink dress a bit dirtied from all the pushing earlier.
Yuya gave her a smile—although it was fake—to hopefully give her some more relief. “Hi…”
“You just ran off!” she scolded through panting breaths as she stopped beside him. “I’m sorry for saying this, but that was very chicken of you!”
Yuya frowned. “I know…” he muttered lowly. “I didn’t mean to…”
He felt his heart starting to throb again. His eyes also swelled as if tears were to come out any minute. He clenched his fists.
“You shouldn’t have started that fight,” Yuzu went on more gently, sitting behind him. “They were trying to make you angrier on purpose, you know that.”
“They called my dad a coward…” Yuya’s breathing became quick again, but he tried to stop it—tried to tell himself not to cry, to keep that feeling of sadness from oozing out of him. “I wished I had been better—better at dueling, better at fighting…!”
But no one can keep such a feeling to themselves forever. And when your body and mind feels like it really needs to, that feeling will come anyway despite one’s efforts to hold it in.
He put on his goggles again and pulled his knees to himself to hug them.
He then buried his face there to hide it from Yuzu as he continued to cry.
That feeling was too much. It had grown too big to just keep it in now, and for some reason, it thought to let itself show now.
It’s so stupid, Yuya thought, rubbing his fingers together and curling his little toes in his little shoes.
He then hugged himself tighter.
“Why’s there people l-like this…? Why can’t they just…” he tried to speak, his breaths and voice shaky. “Disappear, and though I dont want to think bad of other people: be gone?”
“Yuya, those kinds of people will always exist…” Yuzu muttered. ”We can't really do much about them.”
That didn't seem to work, though.
He continued to sob, shaking his head. Great, his snot was starting to go out. He wiped it off with his shirt-jacket.
Yuzu just watched him, not really knowing what to do to calm her best friend down.
She looked out to the sunset as if it’d help in any way.
Of course, the sun isn’t exactly gonna help calm Yuya down, but… it made her remember.
Remember this one, specific, certain little song.
It’s helped her feel better during the times she herself was down, and there won’t be any shame in sharing or trying it with Yuya now, right?
And with a hum of the beginning, she began…
It's a world of laughter, a world of tears…
She closed her eyes.
It's a world of hopes, and a world of fears
She heard Yuya stop sobbing for a bit. Probably wondering why she just started to sing.
There's so much that we share,
It's time we're aware,
Pausing for a bit, Yuzu observed the landscape in front of them, how the sun’s light shone beautifully off the glass dome of the stadium.
She then sang the last lyrics of the stanza.
It's a small world after all…
She then got up and put her feet at the bottom bar of the hand rail and her arms atop it.
There is just one moon and one golden sun,
Yuzu looked up at the horizon, trailing her eyes to the setting sun.
And a smile means friendship to everyone…
Before smiling, as this line reminded her of Yuya’s cool smile philosophy.
Though the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide,
She traced the outline of the bridge and stadium with her little index finger,
It's a small world after all~
until she reached the conclusion.
She then just sang from there, not noticing how Yuya had already removed his goggles, now just dangling on his neck, and smiled at her.
It's a small world af~ter all,
It's a small world after all…!
It's a small world after all,
It's a small, small world…
She hummed the instrumental.
As she did, Yuya went and joined her by the rail, also watching what was left of the sun’s summit on the horizon.
This surprised the former, although she liked it.
It's a world of laughter, a world of tears,
A world of hopes, and a world of fears,
She likes how her plan actually… worked on Yuya.
And for some reason, he sang the next few lines with her.
There's so much that we share
It's time we're aware
It's a small world after all
(Yuzu) There is just one moon (Yuya) and one golden sun,
And a smile means friendship to everyone…
Yuya giggled a little while singing this part, and Yuzu couldn’t help but smile as well.
(Both) Though the mountains divide and the oceans are wide,
(Yuzu) It's a small, small world.
(Yuya) It's a small world after all,
(Yuzu) It's a small world after all,
(Yuya) It's a small world after all,
And now they just raced on who’s gonna sing next
It's a small, small world.
They giggled at themselves and went off the railing.
It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small, small world…
They faced each other and held the other’s hands in their own.
(Yuya) It's a world of laughter, (Yuzu) a world of tears…
She looked down.
A world of hopes, (Yuya) and a world of fears
Yuya gave her another sweet smile. “Let’s sing the last parts together…”
“Sure.”
There's so much that we share,
It's time we're aware,
It's a small world after all~
For a few moments after this, the two just sat there for a while, sitting down there behind the green handrail.
They relished in the salty scent of the sea brought about by the cool breeze that brushed past them, as well as the glow of the sun setting yonder.
It was a nice, peaceful moment. And the realization that it's just the two of them here made the experience even more amazing.
Finally, Yuya felt a bit of… True, solemn tranquility within his heart and mind.
“Yuzu,” he began, listening to some far away squacks by some seagulls, “why'd you sing that song to me?”
“Oh, silly…” she laughed, “it was… To make you feel better, ya know?”
She looked towards him. “I know I yelled at you, but I also know that that alone won't make you feel better. And I didn't know how else to help calm you down, and I thought that the song helped me calm down… So maybe it will calm you, too.”
“Oh…”
To be frank, the song actually did help calm him.
And he was grateful for it, for if it weren't for his precious friend and her soothing song, who knows how long he would've stayed where he was — just dwelling on those awful thoughts and events.
He turned to Yuzu, observing her happy, serene expression as she looked towards the stadium.
“Who knows, Yuya,” she started out of the blue. “Maybe someday, you'll be able to avenge your dad and defeat his annoying opponent.”
“You're right.” He stood up. “You know? I'm gonna do it—one day. Not today yet, but at some point in the future. Soon enough!”
Yuzu giggled and stood next to him as well. “I'll be looking forward to that day, Yuya. But for now, learn to defeat me and Gong first! If you can't, you probably will never survive even just a minute with the guy!”
“Don't worry, Yuzu. I will!” He gave her a determined smile. “I will do my best!”
Later, they met up with Gong again. For some reason, they decided to try and climb a different tree anyway, as Yuya so desired.
To a nearby hill they went as quickly as they could so as to go home before it gets too dark.
And when they got to their preferred tree, Yuya scaled it at once and, when he reached the top, was rewarded with the perfect, small view of Maiami.
Some buildings had their lights turned on already as night was approaching fast, and it was… Really nice to see the nice orange-pink-blue contrast of the sky above them combined with said buildings and other structures.
When they climbed down, he fell at some point, but… He was fine with it (even though it did, in fact, leave him with some bruises and scars).
It was just four feet anyway.
He got scolded by Yoko a lot when he got home, of course, and he took it to himself to listen to her.
And when he was finally in bed, he smiled remembering the stuff that happened that day.
Sure, there was that, but then again, good things can't happen without bad things, and the same vise-versa. How will something be considered good if there is no bad?
And as Yuzu had sung, this world…
It was one of laughter, as well as tears… A world full of hope, but also fear.
And those things do coexist.
But yeah. He got to climb the tree too, that was fun.
He raised his hand to glance at the bandaged scars he got and giggled. They were just a small price to pay for such an amazing view.
And that thing he talked about with Yuzu… How, one day, he'll beat his dad's annoying opponent. And Gong and… her, too, of course.
Maybe even, he hopes, beat his own dad…
He just knows it.
Turning to his headboard, he picked up his pendulum and made it sway. Back and forth it did.
Yep. One day, things will swing his way…
He exhaled happily. One day. There will be a day for all those one day. Not now, but soon.
But for now, what he needed to do was sleep.
And, looking at his glowing stars and duel monsters scattered across his dark ceiling one last time, that's what he decided to do. Of course, he put his pendulum back onto his headboard gently first.
It didn't take long for him to fall into deep slumber.
Ending A/N: kinda just wanted to find an excuse for Yuzu to sing 'It's a Small World' to Yuya :P

How about Asif kissing Yuzuha in public? 🤭
Fifty ways to kiss someone
…in public.
Tumblr media
He was glad to finally get out of his school given the morning already made him fed up with hero boy bragging about his nothing ego that Yuzuha had to push him down again... his face was pretty gloomy as he walked to the City but it suddenly had color back as he saw Asif walking up the point where he wanted to meet him.
Yeah to Yuzuha the World had many Annoyances... stories usually kept him going to at least not full be bored by the dullness of it but it was nice to have someone to share these stories with. Asif and him wanted to explore the book store today for something to read together again when they met up... this smile Asif had on his face felt like Yuzuhas foul mood went away as they walked to the store together.
"Hey Yuzu, was something on your mind before?"
"Nothing much. I am glad to see you is all..."
"Right let me give you that book back I lend from you... it was an interesting Story for sure. A bit more mature in some aspects."
Yuzuha placed the book in his bag with a nod... he loved hearing his voice... especially when it came to telling him stories and narrating them... it was somewhat soothing to Yuzuha. But even if he did have feelings and the Guts to probably be direct about them, he knew not to push his luck... at least He thought he could hold himself back. After all compared to someone bright as Asif, Yuzuha hid a lot of dark thoughts and Secrets inside him.
Arriving at the book store he gently opened the door for him. The store was filled to the brim with people in those tight corners... to the point that some didn't watch out for the two... Asif got bumped away by someone as Yuzuha catched him in his arms.
"S-sorry."
"Don't worry I will always catch your fall."
"Yuzu?..."
He sighed before pulling him closer..
"It's hard to hold back if you look at me like this... and given I can't get across how I feel about you... maybe I should show it."
He pulled him closer to a firm kiss on the lips... despite the crowd he didn't really care if anyone was gonna see them... Asif was surprised at the sudden act but as He withdrew gave a small smile holding his lips.
"So you like me as well that way?"
"You did?"
"Over time I became infatuated with you... asking you things, I was more interested in you... I just didn't want to risk out friendship. "
Yuzuha as well met him with a smile and pulled him away from the prying eyes to a darker Corner of the book store.
"You are sure you accept my feelings even if it means you have to deal with me being moody at times?"
"Yes... I would try it."
"Then guess I won't be continuing that other job of mine. But that's fine, I find another way to make money. "
His look was much more full of life, Asif could have sworn that his eyes shined even more pretty despite him usually hiding it. With a book in mind they continued this now being a date for them instead of a simple Hangout.
