Stealing Skullhearts (Persona 5 x Skullgirls crossover) AU

(writing this au’s details down because I’m probably never going to finish the fic I made out of it RIP)

(as with all of my aus, feel free to use or edit this au as you please. I just ask to be credited.)

So P5 Protag accepts Yaldabaoth’s deal but Philemon ain’t having it. He offers Painwheel(pre Marie fight) a chance at freedom for playing the role of the trickster in a reset timeline. She accepts and she, along with Ms. Fortune, Filia, Squigly, Peacock, and Marie are sent to the persona world.

Due to cognitive stuff, regular people do not see/notice parasites and other things that stand out about the Skullgirls cast(for example Marie having half a spine and Squigly being a zombie).

The P5 Protag is still in the ring so to speak and seeks to oppose Carol.

When not in her Phantom Thief attire, Carol does not have Buer Drive or the nails in her arms from Gae Bolga’s presence(she still has Gae Bolga inside her). Buer Drive’s port and her scars still remain though. Brain Drain’s control mechanism has also been completely removed and Carol overall suffers from far less pain. Her persona is Praxidice, goddess of judicial punishment and exactor of vengeance. Praxidice has Almighty and debuff skills. She keeps Painwheel as her code name as an acknowledgment that Painwheel is a part of her now.

For Ms. Fortune, I do not have much ironed out. Her code name is Misfortune and she has Xingtian as her persona, a warrior who continued to fight after being decapitated. Xingtian uses nuke skills and healing spells. She was going to join during Kaneshiro’s palace.

Filia joins in Madarsme’s palace. Instead of asking Ann to model, Yusuke ask Filia to and later Carol to compliment Filia. Things are awkward between Filia and Carol at first since Carol attacked Filia in a blind rage back in the Skullgirls world. I couldn’t come up with a code name for Filia but her Phantom Thief attire is mafia themed. Her persona is Futakuchi-onna, a yokai with a second mouth on the back of her head. She specializes in electric and gun attacks.

I don’t have much for Squigly. Her code name is up in the air and I’m unsure if I want to keep her persona as Siren.

Peacock has Thalia, the muse/goddess of comedy, as her persona, who uses Psy attacks. Her code name stays as Peacock. She would join after/around when Marie joins. Marie no longer has the skullheart but her persona, Revenant, gives her similar powers. Revenant uses primarily curse skills. Her code name is Lich and she joins during Kaneshiro’s palace. She repeatedly needs to be talked out of murder.

| Filia |

- She warned you about Samson numerous times. He didn't take kindly to strangers, especially when he smells the Parasite within them. Samson would always snap at you, prying Filia away from you and shaming how a lowly human like you could host such a horrendous Parasite. Filia would never believe that you, such a kind soul to her, would be able to host a Parasite. But that all changed when you snapped at a Medici goon feeling up Filia while you two were sipping milkshakes in a diner.

- To be fair, she doesn't like the color green ever since Fukua, but when you started to beat the life out of the goon and throwing him through the glass window then finally pounding his body down on the pavement, she might reconsider. While she ignored Samson's 'I told you so's', she watched you try and fit your still enlarged body on the bar stool as your thick fingers lifted the forgotten glass of milkshake.

- "You think you can do that more often?" She asked you sweetly, still holding onto her and Samson's drink. Leave it to her to be so accustomed to significant other's having Parasites...

| Parasoul |

- She's the level-headed princess of the Canopy Kingdom but there are some times her temper gets the best of her. That's why she always has you at the ready should Umbrella stress her too hard or neighbouring kingdoms start giving her gray hairs. She would never let you be near the front lines though, in fear of you getting hurt. That all vanished when you snuck out onto the battlefield without permission and when you saw her bruised up from a fight, all she saw was green and feeling up a well-muscled body.

- At first she thought it was Panzerfaust who snuck in some sort of green powder again but when she saw your enraged expression, she momentarily struggled from your grip. If you couldn't hear her, it didn't matter. What mattered is that any who bruised Parasoul would pay dearly. It's going to take some time for her to get accustomed to you hiding a Parasite all this time but she'll manage. After all, you did save her life.

| Ms. Fortune |

- She thought you were pretty boring with your passive personality, that's why she pesters you to no end by stretching her limbs to poke you from afar or rolling her head right down onto your lap. She loves to see you absolutely flustered with her advances, like a cat getting the cream when she gets to see your flushed face and cute stutters. She never expected you to be a green monster when Medici scumbags started to terrorize Little Innsmouth.

- Now she thought you were cool with your bulging muscles and green skin as her limbs stretched around you like a scarf. She will not stop babbling on how cool you were fighting those scumbags as you shrinked back to your small form. Though your clothes are no longer intact, Ms. Fortunes blood veins proved to be ample cover.

| Painwheel |

- Depends on which Painwheel. If it's our Painwheel that we know, then she doesn't care about your personality because she couldn't believe you found her attractive in the first place. Still, once you've shown her your true colors, she realizes why you were still with her. You were just as monstrous as she is and she doesn't know how to feel about this. She doesn't know if you liked her because of kinship being hosts to Parasites or that you genuinely do care for her...

- If it's Carol, pre-Painwheel or the version in Filia's story, then she likes your mild-mannered personality because she finds herself being at peace with you. Even when you fight off bullies who dared to harass her because of her face, she always finds peace with her sitting on either the crook of your arm or atop your shoulder.

| Squigly |

- For Sienna, she thinks she gets along with how bubbly she is and your calming personality. It always leaves the Contiello family with a smile how their daughter is so happy with you. Besides, Mr. Contiello is glad that his daughter is in safe hands when the Medici family stormed in, killing everyone. He sees you turn green, fighting off bullets as you carried Sienna safely in your free arm. He's glad to see his daughter safe.

- For Squigly, it's more like Leviathan who's happy to see you still in green form. With memories of his past host, he's glad that despite it all, Sie-Squigly has someone dear to her. You don't even revert back, not until you and Squigly complete your mission. And even after that, she bids you one last farewell as you buried her, waiting for the next time the Skull Heart shows and she'll be revived again.

Favorite Male Character: I used to really like Beowulf tbh but now I really like Big Band. He’s still annoying to play against but I love The Band Master.

Favorite Female Character: I was gonna say Squigly but tbh I am really emotionally invested in Filia. She was the first character I every actually got a proper(ish) cosplay together for. I love her design/outfit and she is adorable, plus I feel like we’re similar personality wise. 

Least Favorite Character: Ngl I don’t really like Cerabella? I feel she’s not really compelling personality wise. I like the concept of her wielding a magical hat though.

Favorite Ship: Parasol x Valentine. Big Oof.

Favorite Friendship: Filia +Carol/Painwheel and Filia + Squigly.

Worst Character Death (if any): Dr. Avian, only because you don’t really get to know him so his death is barely impactful to the overall world of the game. 

This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: Bittersweet but when Filia and Carol spend time together after Filia’s story. Brings a tear to my eye/

Saddest Moment: You know at the end of Squigly’s story where she dies again? And that Filia had to rebury her? Let Squigly live again 2k forever.

- Peridot is curious as to how Robo Fortune functions– and vice versa. A match made in heaven!!

- Steven acts like a big brother to Umbrella whenever Parasoul is too busy for her.

- adding onto the last point: Umbrella and Steven bond over ice cream!!! Umbrella shows Steven her favorite ice cream shop, and Steven tells her about Cookie Cat!

- Amethyst loves chilling with Cerebella and joking along with Ms. Fortune!

- Filia and Sadie hit off almost immediately hit it off, venting and just talking to each other for hours take up most of their pass time now.

- Lars and Fukua seem to just hang out together, hoping that the cool kids think they’re cool, too.

- Eliza LOVES Jasper, whether she’s corrupted or not. Just the way she presents herself sends shivers down Eliza’s back. With such power on her side, she wouldn’t have to even lift a finger before everyone is on their hands and knees.

- Squigly and Leviathan respect Pearl with every once of their beings. A lady with such tact and grace, while simultaneously willing to fight when the situation calls for it is rare nowadays!

- Lapis will single handedly beat the ever loving F U C K out of Double if she comes anywhere close to Steven.

I play both of those characters. But my main character? Zelda. And apparently I'm terrifying as her. I've been called Hellda as her, and my friend likens it to those anime moments where a character gets serious and things go down, I just find it funny. But I also like playing as Palutena, Robin, Olimar, Mewtwo, honestly lots of characters. I love fighting games in general though. Other than Skullgirls (wonder how I know you play that :P) any you like? And who do you play in them if so?

Robin has been my favorite fire emblem character thus far sans ike, but I feel way too reliant on using a Levin Sword for KO’s and that they may be more too geared to support than I’m used to. That said, Peach can also be described that way, she’s tech-y, but, given the right tools and play style she can shine! That’s probably why I’m not as well suited for Robin, though, honestly saying, I tend to play more tech - odd suited characters like:

Poison also in that game...! (C actually got me into the game, he didn’t realize I’d get good at playing the Rich Girl™ and Karen Strassmen as a stripper™ characters though, I can tell you that..!) 

I would also say Xiao-yu too, but I haven’t played her as much as I’d like to..!

Skullgirls, I play Squigly and a little Beowulf, though, I’m not as used to his grappling moves on the consoles (I ended up not being able to play the game on Xbox for sometime...! I’m hoping to get back into it on the PS4 once I saved up!) I also do play a little Filia, but, hey, I’m doing my best! 

I actually haven’t played as many fighting games as I’d like, actually...! Blazblue I used to play, but I was only ever good as Noel.

But fight me in Streetfighter x tekken and boy you got a match to try!
