Man I love Zargonians. They’re a line of die-cut heavy stock cardboard standees from Bearhug Enterprises. They launched a big line — 34 SKUs — in 1980 and then effectively disappeared from tabletop history. I learned about them a couple years ago because they were listed in a weird one-time tabletop distro catalog I have and when I went looking for them, I discovered Noble Knight had a mountain of sealed dead stock. Hooray!

This is Dragon Set A. Unlike the other sets, which have three duplicate sheets, this contains six unique standees in the line’s largest size. These are the Diamond, Red, Silver, Blue, Black and Copper Dragons (I think; I stupidly opened both Dragon sets and its hard to tell the metallic dragons apart now that they are mixed). I love the art, by James Mirick. It’s pretty crude, but has that old school amateur appeal that I still find so delicious. I like the fact that these don’t look anything like established D&D dragons, but that despite the simplicity of the design, they all have similar physiological characteristics that implies they are all related species. Good stuff.

The official Sebastian and Ominis acrylic standees and badges, launched yesterday exclusively in Japan, finally arrived this morning! I don't think there are that many Japanese who are into HL right now, and I wonder why this was released exclusively in Japan…

The same images are printed on the official T-shirts, but we can also see their feet on the acrylic standees that are now available! And the image printed on this Sebastian badge is probably a first! His smug face is so adorable 😭💞💞

Pop-up shop update - despite my best efforts, one of the sticker designs is not moving forward for this initial shop launch. I'm not happy with the way it's printing so I'm saving the design for next year's acrylic standees project and also designing a brand new Clan of Three sticker. It won't be part of the initial launch because quite frankly I am tired and out of time. I need to get pre-orders going and I also need to make a small initial purchase first to 1) know how to even order acrylic charms and 2) have a new different item available for the shop, myself, or both. I'll be at this year's LA Comic Con and I just think it'll be neat to have a DinLuke Clan of Three lanyard to attach my badge to. If this interests you, I'll include it when I launch preorders.

Now that that's done, I can get back to writing the next chapter of my giant-ass slow burning fic.

Did you ever end up publishing The Stag and the Maiden? I remember starting it shortly before you took it down and I just remembered it out of the blue 2 days ago and it took me this long to remember the name and find you to ask, haha.

Oh damn! Nine years later and it STILL left an impression. I'm honored.

Blood and Tines (formerly Stag) will make its debut this Fall. The manuscript is with my editor as we speak! Once they're through I'll be doing an ARC launch for anyone interested in an advanced copy and then a formal launch with merch and special editions (i.e. hard cover, sprayed edges, shirts, acrylic standees of the main cast, that kind of thing).
